"Spencer Brown offensive tackle from Northern Iowa, great story to himself and how the small town was, like 1300 people or something like that. He said. He thought everybody was on his front lawn after the Bills picked him, and he's the guy who jumped through the table in case you didn't see that over the weekend. Is the video was out there on Twitter. The new bill jumping through the table has pretty cool, too. Anyway. Happy Monday. We're gonna talk to Carl crabs here in a moment and get kind of a bigger picture of you on the Bills draft. The guys in the other teams in the division. Tenders in the A F. C. What did you think of the Bills draft? We're taking your calls all morning long. Well, we still tend adle three old 5 58 885 52 5 15. We'll let you know about the greatest name for a race that a driver one so that we'll get to that, too. How crabs joining US Director of Scouting draft network on our West her hotline on this Monday morning, Kyle, It's Howard and Jeremy. Good morning. Happy Draft. Recap stir, sir to you. Yeah, The draft three cap is the circuits officially on and it's uh, nice to get some final answers for what we've kind of been working on all year long, A drive network, which is who the heck's gonna go? Where and Who's going to be good, and he's gonna be not so it should be. That's the aftermath will definitely be fun to sort out was. Was there a theme essential theme that came out of this draft that maybe we didn't anticipate coming into it, whether it's a positional groups or anything that kind of jumps out? Uh, e mean, There's always those handful of players that end up sliding a little bit further than maybe you thought they should. And turns out a lot of this. The league skepticism alone. Justin Field deal. How state quarterback turned out to be real, with him falling outside the top 10 before Chicago jumped up in God and No, but I think the bigger Thing of interest here was how many teams seemed to Be willing to take some losses in Trade compensation in order to get future draft picks instead, and I think it's kind of a testament. A lot of teams probably were a little thin on the board versus what they might normally be, Um, with the restrictions of the pre draft process this year, so teams willing to say Hey, like Let's get draft takes for in the future where we're assuming 2022 is gonna be a little bit more of a standard pre draft process for us, eh? So we're not gonna need or twist your arm to give us 2022 picks in a in a pick swap. Just make sure we get some some future draft capital work with With car with the bills is kind of a different draft. From our standpoint, where the bills have been You know, you look at it and a couple guys at the top. We'll probably contribute and have some snaps. And maybe nobody else will see. But let's start with Greg Russo and we'll get into Carlos Bash him a little bit, because I think those are the two names that could contribute this year. What about Russo? Would you think of that pick? So the thing with Russo is I like him as a player quite a bit. I do think he is a That comes with a couple of conditions and stipulations. However, he's somebody I think you're gonna have to bulk up and I know this was kind of the opposite of what happened with a J at the Nestle. Look there Buffalo right whenever Jesse comes in, and he turns down a bunch of weight We're so is gonna have to go the other way, because if you wear when you watch for so play in Miami, where he won was a lot of times on the interior as a penetration player. And you know what? 260 something pounds, which is what he showed up at the pro day He's somebody had ideally like to believe be a hybrid front style defender. And you're not gonna do that to 60th the NFL unless you're really, really, really rare breed, and we're so just doesn't have that leverage and consistency with his hands yet so I love the potential, but he is somebody that I'm gonna have to see what Buffalo's plan is before I get too excited about what he can be. But you know, understanding that Buffalo has his pass rushers with expiring contracts and 2021. Both he and Carlos passion, I think are the right kinds of players that can stop step in for Buffalo. And no, I know that for the bills. It's really okay What What do we do? That's going to help us get over the top. We were close last year and past Russian and impacting Patrick Holmes is definitely gonna go a long way of doing that. So using you know, with bash him having Maura experience At the college level, then we're so did is a possible bashing might contribute. Maura's a rookie, then Russo Yes. Oh, my camp. Or Carlos Passion. You recognize this name was Shaq Lawson. I think he's very similar style player to Shaq Lawson. I think fashion will be much more consistent on the early downs, especially early in his career, 1st and 2nd down they just control dictate the line of scrimmage. Where is we're so I think it's a lot warmer penetration. Upside and feeling is somebody to shoot gaps and try and create chaos in the backfield. So National was a very productive college football player. But I think with his physical tools when you hold them up to Gregor, or so fashions and more attractive option in the city for option in a cleaner projection. For an early down type of home. Where's Russo has the big boom potential to be a big impact splashed player? We mentioned Kyle, if you look at the rest of the class, really, you know, maybe some guys contribute on special teams, but I don't know that there's anybody there that you would say could have a noticeable impact because this roster was in very good shape. So the other six I'll just loop him out there to loop him in there together and put him in there together. Any other guys? Hey, guys, you know you should know about anybody hit you. Right? I do think Spencer Ground has the opportunity to develop into a really nice offense of tackles. So he was the guy that we had as a fringe top 100 player. Buffalo got him and $93. He was right. Uh, you're just gonna have to ask the patients with him coming out in northern Iowa and, thankfully for Buffalo like you're in no rush to get on the field. Once there's injuries and I think the feeling there's pretty exciting. I like the more Hamlet and Rashad Wall excuses. Potential special teams type guys Certainly don't think either one of those guys is gonna come in and in command starting spots, but That's kind of the scene. When would you look at the Bay? Three guys? Thieves real tough. Football players, and it's not really surprised when you think about what Buffalo's going after. So, yeah, I think that you've got Alerts for the bottom third of the room, Esther Guys who are gonna be young, cheap talent guys who are gonna have some diversity. As far as I think Hamlin can play with time. It's just understanding that from a athletic skill set perspective views Not the most enticing and wild goose was in experience. He was a bit of a surprise that he left Wisconsin early, but a potential nickel type defender, so there's a couple different ways in which these guys can have long term pathways to get on the field. But it's primarily just gonna be teams for these guys out, Jim Palace take you through the division on you can give us you know your general thoughts on the other three teams. Let's start with Miami. Of course, a couple big notes the edge rusher in there. Receiver for two of but overall what stood out about the Dolphins class to you. Yeah, I know. Every dolphin stand under the sun was all ticked off that they didn't draft a running back until the seventh round again, but it's It's really just They don't care about that position, and you can tell based on how they choose to invest in and they believe in, you know, trying to find Um Cheap. Alternatives to get comparable production and Myles Gaskin to his credit, had 97 yards from scrimmage for Jean played last year 10 games, so the fact that they got Jalen Model and Jalen Phillips in the first round gives them that big playmaker on each side of the ball on that..

Jim Powell Temple. Obviously, Powell still around s O. Still, A lot of the lot of the good parts of that broadcast crew is still around, but they'll missed on sudden, for sure. Hey, Jim Palace, probably one that I got a pleasure of meeting him on a couple of occasions and we interviewed him back when the pandemic broke out about what was going on. And just a super nice, approachable guy. Humble. He's been so successful and, you know, he'll tell you guys I just wanted to broadcast baseball and I have been so fortunate, blessed to be able to do what I love to do, and he does it at a very high level. The guy is fantastic and so talented. Atlanta's got some great play by play guys between Powell obviously for the Braves. Um yeah, that Atlantis had some really good play by play. Guys come through escape. You know the whole thing, But I'm just telling you For my money. I've I've I enjoyed. I enjoyed Jim and don very much on and I I fan of the Braves, but not so much that I can tell you whole lot about. This game of that game or watch every game, But, you know, embrace fan were right, George. Why not, but listening to them. Loved it, and I said, kid growing up now we had Milo Hamilton on so that'll that'll take your way on back, and I enjoyed listening to him. But just and then skip in the gang. That was a lot of fun listening to, But to me, he was always very comfortable to listen to those two guys talk about it, cause you're just a couple of guys like baseball talking about the game. Incredible. Incredible, Of course. Now, if you wanna look into Jim's past You know, Um Oh, gosh, he and Bob you cur with the team. Back was in Milwaukee is that is that we're hey, is I don't know. I don't remember. Gosh, my mind blanks on where he's from. But Bob, you cur on and Jim go back and Bob Bucher is He would have been a challenge to work with, because he was always pulling pranks and jokes. And he just hilarious guy just funny as all get out, and when they inducted Jim into the George Broadcasters Hall of Fame last year. They They had a video from Bob because Bob couldn't make the trip. And this guy it was like a five minute stand up routine. Just one joke After the next. It was just hilarious Guy was fantastic. I think he missed his calling should have been in stand up, but Does a great job with baseball as well. Of course, he was a former brave So our is a former brave play for the Braves. Way back. Matter. Fact we used to have a Piece of hardware on the wall that had his signature on it. And all the Braves from the year he was on had film a crow and Bob, you cur and a bunch of other guys out there, so, really cool. But gonna miss Don gonna miss Dunn. 75 you said the up 75 years old and retired from baseball in 1988 Remember when he joined the Braves broadcast crew? No, I do not. Honestly, you're not that Sort of kind of seamlessly came in there. It just seems like such a natural fit. Good. All right.
