"All right, joining me now for our weekly train of thoughts segment my buddy Sal la kata from WFA and radios and YTV in New York. Sal, how was your Thanksgiving? Not bad. It was nice to be off, nice to be home watching football hang out with the family, food good. You know, it was a good solid Thanksgiving. Did you watch the night game Vikings pages? Because I remember you getting very mad that they have a night game on Thanksgiving. I actually did not, and it wasn't because I couldn't. I got home and I forget what time, but it was first half of that game, and I started watching a little bit my wife was shot. She went up to sleep. And then I followed suit. As a matter of fact, did you text me that night? Because I went to bed at like 9 30. I did text you that night actually, yes. Yeah, I woke up that next morning. I was out, maybe it was maybe it was 10 o'clock I went to bed before I have time to put it that way, but yeah, I was shocked. But you watched lions bills. I watched almost all of lions builds. By the time I got to my mom's house, it was maybe 15 minutes into that game. Watch that game. And I got to hear those shout outs. Yes. So we got a stroke my ego now a little bit. Commands comes on the pod. Thanksgiving. Well, it was wild because once that happened, my phone went nuts, and then that was about a half hour before we maybe like 20 to 30 minutes before we sat down to eat. So it was complete anarchy for that whole period of time. So Jim Nance came on the pod a few weeks ago. I said it's enough with the Lions and Thanksgiving. It's not funny. It's not cute. The tradition needs to end. Nance was very adamant that it's tradition. And then said, you wanted me to root for the lion so he said he would mention my name if the Lions led the bills because at three weeks ago I thought the bills would win by 40. And nan said if the Lions lead the bills at any point in the fourth quarter he was going to get in some kind of mention. So then about a minute and ten seconds into the fourth quarter. Lions down 1914, they score a touchdown. Now, they got, I think, inside the 5, they may have even been at the one at the end of the third quarter. So that's when I alerted some people like you might want to make sure the sound is on. Yeah. And then this happened and coming out of commercial after the Lions touchdown. Shall they roll it? You'll hear in Detroit right

"Of my aim for buying it in the end, followed by trying to talk to Sal wakata. And buck gets into a lot of the move from Fox to ESPN, how his first year calling Monday Night Football is going. Gets into his relationship with Troy Aikman, differences between Fox and ESPN get into Thursday Night Football, how Al Michaels is doing, calling a horrible schedule, and a lot of other things with Joel and a lot of Tom Brady stuff and how Tom will do as a play by player and Joe possibly if he would have stayed at Fox working with Brady, so we get into all that. Before we get to the episode and the interviews, make sure you check out recent SI media podcast if you haven't listened. Great run of guests lately. Kevin Clark from the ringer last week, Jim Nance, two weeks ago, John O'Reilly sports business journal three weeks ago. Chris Russo, Dan le batard, recent guests on the SI media podcast as well. I know he hates doing this. I have to make it as painless as possible. He is the voice of Monday Night Football on ESPN. How weird is that? Joe buck. I know I even respond to that how weird is that. That's the worst introduction I've ever had today. I just, you know, 20 years at Fox. And now you're The Voice of Monday Night Football. It was a different 28. Well, the NFL you did for 20 with Troy. That's, well, not with Troy, yes. Yeah. Well, that's funny. But I did the NFL at Fox for 28 years, Jim. Right, right. Come on. But I'm talking about researchers in that. The package of you and Troy, which is moved on. The package. Yeah. Yes. You know, I'm just gonna warn you right now. And I'm gonna warn your listeners. I'm coming in sleep deprived. There is just, I'm probably gonna get fired for what is about to be said on this podcast. I'm gonna let everything hang out for you, Jimmy trainer. So just be prepared 'cause I'm worn out. "It's every generation job to scold the generation behind them, but I was like I was running on my finger. What? Come on. What are we doing out here? I still have to know that this is the worst thing about it is it's not all the arrested. You know where it came from The original one was the host Got cat fished. Okay. Okay, So the original catfish was a movie and the guy need who hosts the show. He's a guy who got catfish. So the movie's about he falls in love with this woman online is like messaging with her for extended periods of time and eventually thinks it's fake and tries to go find her and gets to her house. I think it's like a really old woman took a really old woman has just been lying and personal photos and he's like trying to sit down there like his whole thing is, he tries to do like to come to Jesus and just like, Well, what's going through your head like he tries to figure out what people are going through. That makes them want to do something like this. And everybody's got their own problems going on. But it's not all kids do you like a lot of them are 16 17 year olds, and a lot of it is grown adults and people who are kind of living on their on their computer and on the Internet. That's it's not. But it is frequently kids who fall for that stuff. Right anyway. Polly player was there. There was a high profile of the Montecito from from Notre Dame. Yeah, right. That's right. That's it. You got it. And you? Uh, yeah, that was a tough He had the league now E think he's around. He did. So he was on the team this year again. Is he ashamed? Well, boy, I'm gonna check him out right now. Or let's face it could be that's a deep hole. Coast of you know that he is a free says here, according to Wicki, he's a free agent. He was rostered 19 played. He did not play in 2020. He was a saint in 2019. Good knowledge. Good coast. He only started two games and yet you somehow digested that info. See 2017. He started 10 games for him. After you were still talking about him. Getting catfish is well because he's kind of like the poster boy, you know, high profile because he because he said he was inspired by his girlfriend's death. He was on the Bears practice squad this year. Okay, There you go. That was a rough go. It is a rough go anyway. Probably somebody suggesting that with us being away for so long, you could be catfishing Me totally. Anything's possible. You know, four or five, says his ex girlfriend's Believe this house was next door to Lawrence Ferlinghetti. Sons. Nice, Great times, albeit trippy. I bet event seven of seventies John Belushi doesn't have any problems smashing guitars, Paul, You know anything about that? John Belushi Smith. Oh, well, that's animal house. I gave my love a chair, Right? Right. Right. I was thinking electric guitars shout out. Shut out! Blue towel, Stephen Bishop? Yes, Very good. Thank you very much. I blanked. I was thinking about the way you know what they say about that particular moment of the film, apparently like They didn't know he was gonna do. The ship didn't know was happening. Yeah, they did. So when you see that look of terror on his face that's like legit. They didn't know Belushi was gonna go genius of Belushi along with going to look for a nap in a snack at someone's house, right throwing in each other. I think he's watching a hockey game. Too old for a nap. Blackhawks fan No doubt right, totally, 77 says. I would go to a Giants game spaced out and safe. Hopefully, Giants do a ticket lottery, so everyone has a fair chance. If they don't all the tickets, we have swooped up and resold for an elitist. Price. I hope not. Well, as I said, a season ticket holder. They've told us they're working to get respect. This is all based on the story that Scott still is going to allow. 700 Baseball should never be an elitist sport. You know what I mean? You have to be the guy to come out here, like, make baseball great again. You know, in a Yankee stadium, they're eating prime rib and lobster down below with. Shouldn't be that way. We're trying to watch a ball game out here. I know we gotta go. But I was, you know, I told you I've been trying to write this thing about Pedro for Steve kept man. He wants to do a book on Pedro and he wants me to write about my time with him and 99 in 2000 and the Yankee Stadium. Let's go back and re read my stuff from the Examiner Poly dude. Well for this and the Red Sox Yankees, Syriza's first while the your favorite game of all time. My favorite game of all time in Pedro actually said It was his favorite game all time, Pedro The Red Sox destroying Clemens in Game three of 99 tearing down a poster there for that. That's so cool except proud of my story. It really captures the they're just really go nuts on the guy. They bolt the bloodlust. Paulie think that's a deep patriot. Yeah, but do the next night. Darryl Strawberry was a Yankee that year, and he started as d h, which was a surprise. Do the crowd ready for this? In my story, I said the Fenway Park was merciless. They began with a Darryl Sing song and then began a stadium wide chant. Just say no. Just say no just said Boston man. Yeah, it's good to Torrey admonished them African music that was over the line. Boston and then strawberry hit a bomb took about personality. Run the bus. Chambliss was on the bench in the cameras caught him saying, Just say yes, baby. Just say yes, baby. So just to let you know how the rules go. I mean, just how raw itwas wrong. The stadium is chanting just saying No, it gotta admit, though creatively, that's a That's a pretty good chance. That's a great Red Sox fan Chan. That's what I mean. I needed appreciate that pasta style, right? Some of the greatest tennis poppin chance of all time. Rough I've shared with you off the air. "I was working at the mother ship and it was a Monday night game, So I'm listening as I'm going to get something to eat off campus. And Hank Stram would famously try to tell you what the play was going to be. And you would have Jack Buck. It was trying to keep it all together because the play by play guy is so important. Jim Nance is so important to Tony Romo's success. Because Jim is able to bring it back to calling the game. Tony's like, you know that the guy who yells out stuff and then you've got to sort of bring it back. And that's what happened with Hank Stram. Hank would go. You know it was the 40 Niners in Hank's dreams like Jack, I I think they're going to run left. They like they like to run left here. They roll, right, you know? So it was. It was just such a funny moment that Hank Stram was so certain Situations like this, Jack. They liked them, right. They like to go left it. They roll right. You going? What a great business. I'm so proud all these guys out here everything we dealt with all year. We had a rough month of November but to had all the confidence in us, The team had a lot of confidence. We came together at the right time. I think we knew this was gonna happen. I didn't weigh ended up playing our best game of the year. You got reunited with drug twice in the end zone tonight. You found a baby in the end zone for net caught a touchdown scored a touchdown. I mean, those bunch of a F C guys come over come the Tampa They all believed in you two to have this night. As a possibility. And here you are, with all that you've done. Where does this rank? Is this? The crowning achievement. I'm not putting any making any comparisons. Oh, when they welcome you into the broadcast. This is not pre game. This is welcoming you into the broadcast friends. Yes. Hello, friends. Here we are. Nancy in Rome. Oh, sitting there, the two of them on camera. Tony Roma will say I'm excited Jim and this is the profit that's out there, and it's at 4.5. So 4.5 times that Roma will say the Jim Nance. I'm excited, Jim in that opening shot, the two shot of them could last five minutes. Yeah, gotcha. Yeah, And we introduction Are we talking like before they Because there's a lot of stopping Christian like this is before kickoff or before kickoff when they welcome you to the broadcast, Right and high number. You got hit five to win. So have you heard him on the air before I have all right? Oh, I'm just saying, I I called Vegas. We tried to set this line correctly. And also if you go back to Theo the NFC Championship game, can we say moose knuckle on the air? I don't believe so like And we say that as the person across the actually say, as the person who normally is the home on Earth, the dumb shame on you. I don't know, but not a great look for Rome. Oh, in that opening to shot, Chris. It was the only change. Can't we always talked about it was it was pressure there. Jon Gruden was always sitting on the bar stool with his legs Spread wide open. You're like John, just the tip. Is there something there? All right, All right. We gotta get through. This is going to remember I'm going under. I'm going under on that 1st 4.5 times, he says I'm excited, Jim going under. Here we go. This is going there's a great problem. When Jim Nance is setting up a play and he gives down and distance but Rome Oh, obliterates whatever Nance is trying to do, and he talks over meat is tramples over him. Confirmed with Vegas the over under on that is 30.5 30.5 times. It's Nance tries to set up hate. It's third and four from the 34. He's about I'm gonna take 30.5 times heavily under. Not a lot. Just a spring. I think the warriors in this regard. I don't think that's all the water line that could be too high. He is a high scoring man. I'm going over that. So he's right. He is like the Warriors because once that happens once there's an avalanche and then it just every play. He's talking over there. Doesn't Jim just get get frustrated and tired stops talking Well, speaking of that, let's go to our third prop. Here's the third one. Jim Nance with a beautiful He does a beautiful job of setting Roma up to share a story about something. Anything and Tony Roma leaves him hanging and it you know, this line is set at a half. So, so it's if it happens once you could win your bet. If you go with the over and if we call back to the A F C championship game, we heard it. So Tony tell me about this gathering.

And that's why he was kind enough to come on this show when he doesn't need to do that, because he's a very big deal on an hour. Can't wait to talk T p Lot of Super Bowl 55 talk a lot to get to. I do have a story about karma, putting in its sights me and then just destroying me in every way possible. We'll do that in about 20 minutes. I'll be fun. Looking for looking for that bad boy looking forward to that segment, so How many ways can you take Super Bowl 55? And assess it right. Pick it up, turning around your hands, try to find some new and interesting angle And here's the thing that occurred to me. And it's on the lines of the fact. And if you want to call us, 855 to 1 to four CBS in about 10 Minutes was are taking Super Bowl predictions. What you think's gonna happen. Whatever you got. Here's something that occurred to me. As it relates a suitable 55 the magnitude of the game and how it's going to affect the history of this sport and other sports long past the conclusion. And it also Lines up with is at the intersection of the fact that true greatness Overwhelming historical goat greatness. Redefines how we measure success. How we measure all time success. And that is Whether or not Tom Brady walks off the field in Tampa Bay. At the conclusion of this battle on Sunday in that moment, and for many years to come. In a minimum, he's gonna be the greatest QB of all time. Anyone. Who argues that is wrong. And deep. In their belly of Marino or Montana or breeze or manning fandom. They know they're wrong. You have to like Tom Brady. You know in your gut. He's destroyed everything in his way, including your resistance to His Excellency, It's just a fact. It is his 10th Soup bowl appearance on whether he's six and four when it's over, or seven and three. The not the mere number of appearances is going to be a part of his legacy. Now, Kim Holmes chasing down maybe maybe But what struck me is the fact that for so long and Brady LeBron to an extent, But look, Brady's the one that is bold arised this notion this false notion it turns out This idea that our greatest of all times have to be perfect. Have to be Not just transcendently talented, a statistical marvel. Ah, cutthroat winner. They have to be perfect. That is the idea that Michael Jordan and Joe Montana fashioned for us in the eighties and nineties. Montana four for four in the Super Bowl perfection. All the other things, I noted. Jordan. In the NBA Files six for six and all the other things, I noted perfection by the way, that wasn't how we measure greatness in those sports beforehand. There were Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Magic and Bird. The quarterbacks who predated Montana, Bradshaw on others, the idea of perfection. As a requirement. Isn't a universal truth. Not an absolute fact. It's not the physics of sports if you're smart enough to understand the math behind goat nous. It's something that Jordan in Montana created. That's what grates do. They carved their They carved not just their face. In the mountain, The Mount Rushmore. Of the sports world. They carved the reality They want us to see. And Brady has done that..

"Come back from 28 3. That the Patriots orchestrated where Brady to come back and ultimately win. That game went 22 for 28 with two touchdowns. Probably the biggest and best comeback that any of us will probably ever see. Amongst all of the accomplishments that I just laid out. MVPs. Pro Bowls, more touchdowns, more yards, Comeback player. Super Bowl victories. Would have to agree with Jim Nance. If this man wins Ah, seventh Super Bowl, You have to say that's his greatest achievement. His greatest accomplishment. He's doing it. On a new team. In his first year. At an advanced age of 43. Without Bill Belichick. Coming together during a pandemic. Trying to change. Trying to get acclimated to new players. A new system. That he's pretty much hoping to August rate. You want to tell me that that wouldn't be his greatest accomplishment. You know how difficult it is to jump into something brand new and you know he's not He's not coming out here to reinvent the wheel. He didn't go toe to Tampa Bay to Ah, you know, But come on, biologists didn't become a marine biologist. He's not doing any of that. He's still throwing a football. Yes. He's not solving and creating world peace. He's still throwing a football. But in his occupation For what he's done this year. Peaking close this chapter. This season and 2020 With a Super Bowl ring, his 7th and 2021. Everything. A long list of things. That Tom Brady has accomplished that he has achieved I would tell you. Winning the Super Bowl if he does I think that would top the cake. Can't find anything else that would show or indicate to me. That it would be more difficult. Not at all. So I'm gonna open the phone lines. 855 to 1 to four, CBS. That's 855 to 1 to four. CBS. Do you agree? What? Jim Nance. If Tom Brady goes out and wins this Super Bowl if he hoists 1/7 Vince Lombardi Trophy. Is this Tom Brady's greatest achievement? Is there something else that he's done? That is stand up that stands out more. Do you think there was another accomplishment that was more difficult? I think this is something for him to be proud of, probably more than anything else. Your phone calls when we come back 855 to 1 to.

"You could find me online. All social media is at J. R Sport brief. I actually just tweeted out the show Run down, So you know exactly what we will be discussing. Tonight. Quite a few things. I might as well let you know right now. Next hour, two time Super Bowl champion. What the New York Giants. He actually was on those themes that beats on Brady. Those two times. Mathias Kiwanuka. Will be joining us next hour. I'm going to ask him about Tom Brady. I want to ask him about the current Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnola that there are so many questions I have with him. He also played with Jason Pierre Paul. So there's a lot I want to discuss with Mathias Kiwanuka. He's coming up next. Our other news that has come through throughout the course of the day. Obviously. We're about a week away. What if I can count correctly? We're moving into. By the time the show was done, we will be eight days away from the Super Bowl. We'll be talking about the legacies of Brady and my homes. Whether or not he could even catch up to the Tom Brady guy and then also speaking of legacies. We're still trying to understand right now. What is going on with big Ben Rafel is burger whether or not You know he will play for little or no money to to help out the Steelers and their cap situation and whether or not the Steelers should even bring him. Back. Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles introduced their new head coach, Nick's Irani, that ah lot of people had no idea who the hell he was a couple of weeks ago. Didn't necessarily make the best impression. David Cully, new head coach of the Houston Saxons also spoke to the media today, and I guess everyone outside of Houston knows that Shawn Watson wants out. Except for the members of the Texans organization. Possibility of Matthew Stafford going out to Los Angeles. So those are all things that we will discuss and touch on this evening first, before we get rolling. I know it's a Friday night. I know Things could get interesting with our callers on office. The end of the week or whatever the deal is, I gotta ask super Producer Stew Kovacs to how are you, man? I'm great, Jr happy Friday to you. It's It's a different Friday without a football game, but obviously we have a whole week another week to prepare for the big game. We have a whole week. We're gonna have some some amazing interviews next week, and you talk about there Not being a football game over the weekend. You know that that Madden Pro Bowl is going to take place on Sunday night. You know that right? How? How could I not know that? That's AH must see event, right? I love the look and listen to the sarcasm from super Producer Stew Kovacs, if you are not familiar And I believe because I read it and I read it once and said, I don't care they're going to be. I think four athletes that will be participating for pro bowlers or maybe six. Will be competing. They'll be playing video games, The Pro Bowl. Not that I think the majority of folks ever cared. But the Pro Bowl is is going to be on Madden. There'll be a couple of pro bowlers and I think Snoop Dog will be playing so If you want to see Snoop Dog play Madden, then you tune into the NFL Network Sunday night at 8, P.m. Eastern Time. Five, Pacific Me I will go by at one time for probably about 30 seconds and then I will move on with my life. And at this point, I want to move on to something that is ah little bit more tangible, something that is a little bit more real, and that is not athletes playing digital games. But the real athletes who will be on the field in Tampa Bay about eight days from now for Super Bowl 55. You know, we've had a interesting week, and we know we've had the weight or we will have to wait Ultimately, two weeks before we get that big game. But there's something I want to talk to you about What Tom Brady A big shout outs to Zach gallops that comes on the air. He's right here on CBS Sports Radio prior to my show, and Zach had a conversation, which Jim Nance Jim Nance. If you are not familiar, he's like the voice of fill in the blank. He's the voice of everything, especially here with us on CBS. You can catch him with Roma. When it comes down to football. You can catch him on cough. Jim Nance. Can narrate your life and make it sound great and exciting, even if you lick stamps for a living, But he was with that girl, so it wasn't engaging and awesome conversation. And they talked about Who else? Tom Brady. And Jim Nance, who has had the call games for Tom Brady. Since this man came into the league, he's called a lot of these amazing games. Zach asked him Like what the hell this win. Seventh Super Bowl victory. What it would mean for Tom Brady and his legacy. Listen to what Jim Nance had to tell our owns that girl when we did, then his last game is a patriot. You know you got the year They beat the Rams two years ago to win the Super Bowl. And then last year, things fell apart at the end of the year, and they lost. In the wild card game to Tennessee. You didn't know if he was ever gonna play again. And you know, much less. If he switched teams If You could go in. And fight a way to get the chemistry to work to make the Super Bowl. I mean, that's preposterous. And then you throw in No, really. Oh, ta. Sure he tried to get together with some guys down on a park in Tampa before they got chased away. Um, but no, no O T A is no preseason games. No chance to make this well oiled machine. It. Of all the many things he's accomplished..

"Always enjoy watching you crush it on the NFL today on CBS with the studio guys, But do you ever get to interact with the on site? Game commentators? I know you've had Tracy Wolfson on the show before, but Jim Nance is a legend. And Tony Rome. Oh, might be the best color color commentator on TV right now. Mark in Indiana. That's a great question. That's a great question because I always talk about the guys who were on the set and how much I love all the people on the set and the people behind the people on the set. Honestly, No. I'm Jim Nance. I've had on this show before. Jim Nance is such a class act. He's a wonderful guy, and sometimes back in the day pre pandemic. The week of the Super Bowl. You know, we all try to get our cardio in and our workouts and I've seen Jim Nance in the gym. Tracy Wolfson also gets her workouts, and she's a class actually so good at her job. Tracy's all class I've never spoken to Tony Rome. Oh, since he came to CBS. He's brilliant. Really an analyst. Way, way, Way, Way way back in the day he appeared on the show once. Other than that. Have not really spoken now. They don't They don't set it up like that, Like They do their hits, and JB will reach out to them and test test the lines and make sure that everything's set up and no, I do not get to do that. Great question, though. Keep them coming. I miss seeing the FAM. I did not travel to New York. Obviously, during the NFL season. I did all my hits here locally, but I'm going back to Tampa and I'm gonna do this show a week from Friday. No radio road, stay single one off show and then I'll do a couple of takes on Super Bowl Sunday. CBS has got Super Bowl 55. Man that was a great show today. Really good show. Well done. Everybody said Jesse Bates. Great job. Michael Chandler. Amazing Job. Sean Murphy Bunting. Great interview. Great beef segment. XR 40 I coming up big clones. You had a good day. I've got my Podcast coming up later on episode 1 60 keep to leave feeling very good about this. He's awesome. Make sure you listen to that. Thank you for listening. Every cell is a great day will push that out next. See, tomorrow we're out. Does learning a language feel like this? No, I'll blast manual average. It's Pablo. It's all Bo Bom Dia. Good. Good day. Good morning. I think I can say Jim Uphill, David, but that's probably it when you learn a language you want to actually use it. Babble is designed with that goal in mind. This year is my year to get fluent in Spanish and babble is definitely gonna help me do that. The APP is so easy to use, and it's so practical and helps you learn things that you will actually need. Since my husband is from Guatemala. I'll apply what I've learned in battle to our Real life situations. I've tried other language, learning abs and nothing released up. Babbles been a complete game changer for me. Well, I asked me out of release He il Chema. It's tomboy Bueno afuera. It's still conforming not to make a.

"Yes, I was four week One and people thought I was out of my mind. Europol is gonna be the Gruden Bowl. I think we even had the clip that the cut that I said it and you know, before week, one of the regular season they got played back, and it was just one of those things I happen. I forgot. So you just brought it up so great of you to do me. Oh, you made my day You go now. Go with me this time about the bill. So yeah, there's bills. Hey, they've won. They've gone through the stretch now where they've won eight in a row of seven of them by double digits, So they're blowing people out, and I'm not trying to take anything away from Kansas City, cause I I've had so many of their games this year. They have the look of a group that knows how to win and will do what it has to do to win and they're just waiting to get back to go win it again. So these aren't satisfying times for them right now, now that they've tasted What is like toe to win the Super Bowl just last February. Their whole season's about one game, then that's this upcoming February 7th. They've won their last eight games by a total. 32 points, eight wins by 32 points, So they're all one score wins. They've been close. The bills are blowing people out. I'm not making a prediction. But if anybody's taking the pills lightly Especially after they've just been blessed by you know the buffalo chance that's going out on a limb. I think those t O put pick against my home. Well, what the hell The wine Oh, Jim Nance on the Bernie and said show, Jim, Of course, Then you have the Buccaneers in the pack is that ought to be well. Fun match upto. Watch Brady versus Rogers. It's hard to pick onto route to pick and both root against Tom Brady. What do you think? What do you see happening in that game? Well, Tom has willed this team put him on his back, and I saw him on Thanksgiving Sunday against Kansas City a game the chief's one in Tampa, and there were a lot of people say. Hey, this isn't working out. But there were some positive signs in the second half that game that that things were starting to click, and ever since that late November game they have and look what they've done. They want two games in the playoffs, and it's just It's just been amazing Accomplishment. The Brady's going back to yet another championship game. So you don't You don't bet against Tom. In this spot, however. You know you're going to go against Aaron Rodgers. And if if if Mahomes is the show, I don't know what what Aaron Rodgers is because I think he's also the show. They come from two different conferences. They both are extraordinary to watch. Green Bay is hyper accustomed to playing in what's going to be really nasty, cold conditions. Of course. Tom made a career out of it doing on that that the rest of his teammates have Hard to go against Green Bay in this game, but it's Brady sitting there, and Tom is just he is. He is the greatest player ever on. That's now He's just back that up and verified it one more time. By the way, not what make it all up. I think any combination is gonna be great. Come Tampa and the Super Bowl, agreed Mother. Nothing to remember the game that vividly but the The Buccaneers were getting 3.5 that day against Kansas City, and they were down by 17 and Brady scored two million was touchdowns in the fourth quarter. And they covered not that I know that this is like this is like rain man stuff you did just worked it up really didn't go off. The top of this is right man type stuff that I did see Brady beat up for Rogers pretty good during the regular season, but that was about to die. Yes, big time. So let's get to the big game because the NFL just announced Jim, they're going to allow 22,000 fans in the seats. 7500 vaccinated workers will be there, too. So that's good news to get bands in the seats. I was talking to your former partner, Phil Simms. And, of course, Tony Romo's does a fantastic job now, and he was saying how different it's gonna be like you talked about the master's no radio roll, No Maxim party, No Playboy party. No player is walking around town. Right, Jim? This is going to be a weird Super bowl like the Masters. Normally, I would be in the Super Bowl City by Sunday night, the week before Monday morning at the latest, and then you start the rollout. You start the big media gathering. Inside the stadium, where thousands of media credential people somehow they got credentials. They come and they get to ask, you know the silliest questions to these players. That's all gone away. Andre for our purposes. We We don't even have to get there until like late in the week. It's a normal NFL week for us. There is no fanfare. I I will go in early to walk through the trophy presentation, and now that's gonna be done on that'll be reversed. With the NFL. I believe that's on Friday Friday afternoon, but otherwise we won't see the players again. We'll talk to them by zoom in our production meetings. There will be no fanfare. There will be no parties. You just rattled off a bunch of parties that I trust. You probably have attended a couple of Michael specifically point out. I never got an invitation to those, so I can't speak to them. Well, I Jim needs it's great to reconnect with you will be watching along with about what 60 million people. Pull that the very least, but look is great to talk to you with great guy. So thanks for coming back. Hey, had me back. Bernie said I'd miss you guys. I mean, you're great pals. We've done a lot of fun things through the years. That is great to be reunited. So it's great to have you both Now we love you, too. Jim and I I still can't go back. Who are the Stephen A Cox golf tournaments with you out there, actually calling the action like it was the Masters and having two knuckleheads like me and Bernie draped all over you. I mean, whatever you do this, there's really nobody better. Jim, we love you Enjoy the Chiefs and bills and enjoy the Super Bowl and please come back again. Soon. You're the best. I look forward to the invitation. Thank you fellas. All about the great Jim Nance. There he is, Chuck him out on Sunday Chiefs and bills And then of course, coming up in two weeks on CBS Super Bowl 55 1 808 48 w A b c 1 808 48 92 20 to load up. Those phone lines were gonna play beat Bernie brought to you by our dear friend Pete Morgan. And the fine.

"So let me tell you what type of guy Jim Nance is. He's the best play by play guy in the business that zipping up with bait anymore. No disrespect to Michael's and the rest of these guys, but Whether it's the master is God is Dustin Johnson Call was beautiful. This year, the Super Bowl. He's got that in two weeks into CBS event or the last basket in college basketball. Nobody's better than that. Nobody. Nobody, but I gotta tell you My father who we know I lost in July and burning. You were so great with me with that when he was very 67 years ago. I remember being in the emergency room with three o'clock in the morning and Westchester, New York, and I called him that. Two story three o'clock in the morning. He had just been a book about his father and their relationship. He lost his dad. Pick up the phone. He talked to me. You talk to me, and I felt a lot better. And I had my dad for another seven years. And then when my dad passed away this summer, Jim reached out to me and send me a beautiful email. So he's the best play by play Guy in the business. The best golf by Bye, miles, But he's a wonderfully sweet man. I love him. I really do love him. Here He is The voice of CBS Sports The great Jim names. Yeah. Good morning, guys. What it What an intro and again I'm so sorry for your loss. It's wonderful. To be reunited with you two guys, You know, I moved to California 89 years ago, and I was afraid for a while. You guys lost my number, but, you know, because I love you both. So let the love fest continue. Well, thank you, Jim. And we're happy for you living out there and Pebble and enjoying life as as you should. I have to say before we get to the bills in the Chiefs and the possibility of the two teams in Super Bowl 55 this year for some reason, maybe was the cove it? I don't know, Jim, but watching the Masters Watching Tiger who had won it 19 months before. Put the green jacket on Dustin Johnson your call. I just felt like this year with all that was going on, and the master's moved six months later, that wasn't Epic four days of golf. Cole out of you. It's all a blur to me now. Your gracious with your remarks said Thank you for that. I like all I can tell you is it felt so different obviously than the other 30. Some odd years that I've been down in Augusta had the West, calling the Masters tournament. And you know we did the best we could. With a no temper event. Our crew. Was the was the group to really let me in in all with the way that they presented it in all the drone coverage in the footage and the production and it was just a as always, they turned it into something feels more like a movie. And I'm just trying not to get in the way. So you know, we were in all these different bubbles were not allowed to get close to the players, and we're not allowed to go in the clubhouse. These air some different protocols and then Normal years we would have had, so I really didn't even see a player until Tiger and Dustin came in for the green jacket ceremony, so it was so distant I didn't talk to a player. I saw Freddy Couples a little bit on my way back to the hotel One night. Of course, we go back to college together, so we pulled over and had a chance to have a quick visit from afar. But once I got to the course I was sheltered. The players had their own bubble and It was. It was just It was just very different started. See anyone until until it came time to present the coat. Wow, That's a great story story, Jim Dance on the Burning and Ciccio Jim this playoff games this weekend. Of course you have well. Among the other game. You have the bills in the Chiefs, and now you have my home's versus Josh Allen. Mahomes suffered a scare last Sunday and that with the concussion protocol, the question is this. Is he going to be back this weekend? And should he be back? Would you be back during the regular season if it was the same situation? And again, will he be back? Well, I don't have the answer to that. I did talk to Andy Reid yesterday afternoon, and Patrick came off another full day of practice running the first team reps. They wouldn't be dedicating all those snaps preparing for a game to go to the Super Bowl. Um, if they didn't believe that Patrick was gonna be on the field on something they would be getting Chad any going through, Uh, emergency, you know, reps over and over again. I would be shocked if he doesn't play And I think I really do think that if this was in the regular season, the same rules apply. Remember, It's an independent doctor that ultimately makes the call and will clear him and I think that will come. My best guess would be the late this afternoon or tomorrow board. I agree. I think he's gonna play again. One win away from the Super Bowl, and this is the first team ever to go to the C championship game three years in a row, But I will say this With the utmost respect for my home so that he is the most exciting and most unstoppable player in the national football like I like the bills because he's one hit away. I think the bill that's a very aggressive defense and Josh on it in school with anybody. But he's one hit away from having shared Henny get extended playing time and shed head. He can't beat the bills. So I'm gonna go on a limb here, Jim and tell you put the house on the bills. They're gonna upset Kansas City and play Green Bay in the Super Bowl. You know what? You have an amazing record said on on stuff like this. So wait a second moon. What? Wait a second. I'll never forget to do. I don't know what you did some one year on. I miss. I still remember this before the season started. You picked the Buccaneers to play the Raiders and the Super Bowl. And you were right. I did. And Bernie was there..

"Welcome back. I'm Jim Rome. Halfway through it. It's gonna be a big time weekend. You've got divisional playoff games on Saturday and Sunday. Can't wait tremendous Friday and listen, which one you on this Friday for sure for sure is finish strong. Everybody step it up. We've got an hour and a half to go up there. A lot of show left a lot of content left. You want to make sure you finish strong man. Go hard finish strong. You enjoy that Friday afternoon. So much more. I guarantee it still head James Kelly. And big head bets. Now, let me just say one more thing about what happened recently. I'm talking about the dust, the dust settling, Or maybe I should say the slime settling. On Nickelodeon's broadcast of the NFC wild card game between the Saints and the Paris last weekend. No, I covered that on the show already, but there's more to it. 95% of the people who watch that loved it. That's kind of non scientific, but that's just my sense of it. Like everybody thought it was cool, Cool and fun and weird and interesting and different and entertaining. Like 95% of the people I saw responding on social media, especially like Wow, Man, this is different. This is cool. But then you had that small percentage of dopes. And meatheads and purists who were really upset by it. And they fail to see the irony and getting mad at the kid's network for putting kids spin on a game where the ball is moved around. Ah, field for points. Right? I understand that to a lot of you, the NFL is your number one religion in America. I get that sort of kind of I mean, trust me. I love it. I love the NFL. I love the NFL as much as the next person. However, if you can't see how weird it is to get that pissed to get that angry to get that worked up. Over a broadcast. It was fun over a literal game on a kid's network. If you got that fired up about that, and you were that insulted by that, you know, maybe you re evaluate. Not only your approach to sports, but your approach to life, man. Look in the mirror Sports Fun games contests. At least it's supposed to be fun. Oh, and get this. CBS simulcast ID the Bears and Saints. So if a bunch of green slime and SpongeBob got you all worked up, you could have easily walked your plate of wings and Bud light lime over to the adult table on the other channel. Which brings me to this hilarious aspect. This hilarious angle. As I just mentioned the Bears and Saints game was broadcast on CBS and Nick Simultaneously. Jim Nance and Tony Roma were on CBS. They, Burleson? No. I eagle and Gabby Green. We're on Nick Gabby Green is a 15 year old recording artists who resonates enormously with the nick audience. She also admits she does not know that much about football. In fact, the game that she was broadcasting was the first game that she has been to Which is fine. In fact, it's better than fine. It was part of the reason why she was there to represent everybody else in that demo who didn't know that much about football. That was the plan. That way you make it more accessible for everybody, and you welcome new fans and new eyes into the game along with her. So you have Nate Burleson and no eagle, and they're explaining a lot of things to her during the broadcast. You know as a way to talk to the audience and explain it to them as well. Once again, it's by design. So if this is making you that angry That a teenage girl who doesn't know football gets to broadcast a football game, man. Go take a lap. Take a walk around the block. Cool down. Remind yourself what we're talking about here. Ah, game on a kid's network. Here's a perfect example of Gabby green not knowing the game and Nate and Noah explaining it to her on the broadcast This force that comes on.

"Rankings to start the year. Number one. It will be somewhat controversial. It always is. That's my best. That's Howard Cosell. Is it to Anthony Rome? Oh, it is not, but he's pretty high on the list. Joe Buck, number one. You know, it's like a love hate thing with Joe, but I like Joe Buck. I happen to think he's very good. I do. Some people think that Joe Buck hates their team and like, which is silly. I don't think Joe Buck cares one way or another about your team. My team. I mean, I really don't think he cares. I think Joe's there to do a job. I like Joe. He's number one on the West number two Kirk Curb Street. I also think Herbie's pretty good at what he does. Number three is one Anthony Rome. Owe your co number three on the list. Mike in front of his partner, huh? In front of his partner. Wow, Number four on this list would be my number one. I still think he's the best. I mean, he's got to be well into his Al Michaels. Your go now that you want to talk about a guy who still has his timber. He's got his timber is fastball and everything. How old is it? You don't think so? Miller? No Love. L love our very own. You gotta admit Alice got his timber. You said he doesn't doesn't have his facts. Don't think he's got his fastball. Listen, he could still win. You win your ball game and go out there and, you know, get it done. I could deal with your ball game and get it done cutting. His guys become mark burly crap. But nobody was better because burly always was getting it done with cunning and guide, So he's I'm trying to think of take area. His area who, like really dominated one time in an area like Yeah. But area has lost it, but he's doing a game on cunning and guile. Every once in a while area. Yeah, He's like Kurt. She's more consistent channel for about nine years, So that's getting it done in a different way than he did when he was all those years ago. Maybe I'm biased because Alice probably always been my favorite. I mean, him. I was gonna be like 70. Yeah, late 70 75 76 My back's unbelievable. He, but he's losing it a little bit as you will. They do, like, watch like Mussburger lost it A little. I will at night and I love must think he like identifying the players. I think l A is a little bit the same thing. Okay? He leans heavily on Christmas, which is what he should do because he probably It's probably a little hard to keep up with the action on the field the way it once was, and I still love his voice. He's you know, in the sculpture I have, but I do think He's lost his fastball. He's not throwing 100 anymore. All right, so he's four. Maybe in Miami. Miller makes some good points. Good counterpoint. I'm mellow bias. I'll admit it. Jim Nance is five. There's another good one York Well, Nancy is exceptional Masters. He gets the he gets March madness. I mean, he's probably got a lot of stuff, right? Yeah, He's very versatile, like Jim's good at everything he does golf, basketball football. He could do it all. I mean, you don't really do baseball, but I mean, like the stuff he does. He's very good at There's another guy to me that's versatile. We know this guy a little. And I think he's very good. Kevin Harlan, I wouldn't put Kevin quite as high as I put those other guys with this much national appeal, but I think Kevin is very, very good. He's a pro and Kevin can do. I could watch Kevin do basketball or football, and I think he's terrific. It both I enjoy his work doesn't doesn't miss a beat for Doris Burke is seven. And to be honest, I have to say that his brother's my agent. Yes, I can't really be overly effusive for Kevin Harlan, but I do. Enjoy his work is very good. Doris Burke is also very good. She is seventh. Louis. Riddick is eighth. Wonder how long he'll be in the booth getting some consideration from a few other teams getting some play car? This is what I like. And I think Chicago baseball fans are gonna like this. Checking in at number nine Chicago baseball announcers. How about that? The whole group makes the.

What's gonna believe I'm just watching the You know you're the Swift can new studio. I love that scoop Camp Kamala, too. It's like a drone without all that motor noises, and I was watching some great drone shots in the master's last year. Did you watch somebody when you're watching call? It was nice about that is usually it's covered in people. You don't get to see the terrain. And you got a good glimpse of how beautiful that golf courses in the fall. Well, I mean, it's what's interesting is you know, golf doesn't seem much different and during Copen no it really it doesn't It doesn't but it was so Calming Was Nancy Pants over there? Jim Nance? Yeah, Jim? Yeah, he doesn't He make you feel like it's Sunday. I know I wanted to read me anything. Yeah. Jim Nance has got that voice. It's not the leaderboard. Just getting his voice is synonymous with calls. Yes, right. I mean music. That's how that that's you know, that's how they the music and the beautiful shots, not as beauty. I think it's more beautiful or It is more beautiful and when they usually play it, which is yeah, well, so what's interesting is is, you know a zoo? We go through this covert thing and you're you're starting to see how baseball handled it. You're starting to see how you know restaurants are handling it. And maybe not. How California's governor's handling. Did you hear s so you heard of the have you heard of this place called the French laundry. Oh, yeah, It's a little nap. Yeah,.

Peter Kostis opens up on 'disrespectful' CBS dismissal

"Here's our conversation with Peter Costas. So it used to be. We would call up. When we needed a big boost podcast downloads. How does it feel to now be the The Guy we go to when we when we're looking for a boost? Speaks volumes. On how far we followed I've been I've enjoyed them all you guys have been great, and hopefully we can keep the popularity going wall. What was what was your reaction? Like on your end to your I know laying up podcast experience. It was really well received I got my twitter followers, ninety thousand of them, or whatever I have not as many as others, but it's still a significant number. And they were. They were extremely positive about the whole thing. They were glad that I spoke truth to power. And they wish that more people would do it. Having said that most other people have a paying job and Boston as if they have to have to be kind to so. It affords me the opportunity to kind of say what I want now exactly and kind of contrasting that I think with. With our interview with Jim Nance which I believe you listen to, but what were you? What were your thoughts on that? I guess it was kind of the difference between the two I, think is you know what you just said in that you know is currently obviously still with the CBS you're not able to speak on a lot different things. Well Yeah. I listened to it. You know back in the day when you guys i. kind of took on CBS and the way they produced. Their golf shows I. think almost everybody at CBS was taken aback by by little bit because. We felt like you guys didn't really. Know what was going on behind the scenes in a TV telecast, and and and the way things work subsequent to that. You guys have done your homework. You guys have become much more knowledgeable about the INS and outs of broadcasting a golf tournament on television. Jim went as far as Jim could go given the ease, the voice of CBS sports right. Now that makes them makes total sense. I'm curious. With when we spoke in February, no, you're everything with your the non-renewal, your contract or firing, or however you want to phrase. It it was. Probably, a little more fresh back in February. Do you view anything differently about I? Don't know anything related to your job or golf on TV or anything differently after a few more months now away from it all. Listen. Gop On television right now is is truly unique. It's being done. In a manner that's never been tried before CBS's the Guinea pig. NBC will have a chance to do it here in in a few weeks. It's extremely difficult. But I think they've done a superb job to the point where people are bitching about coverage as if it were normal coverage with with a full allotment of. CAST and crew and equipment, and and the whole thing, and it isn't. That they've done a great job by feelings about management haven't changed in any way shape or form. They have a long way to go to understand. The game a all the viewers who watch golf and what needs to happen to make them happy. You can say what you want about Gary in me. You could say that we were stale. Whatever spine? That's all cool. It's fair game, but we talked to the viewers. Or we tried to at least. When I did my swing visions I talk to other tour players I didn't use to speak I. Try to use simple language communicate to the ten twelve handicapper at home with Gary. Talking about a shot that was misplayed or whatever he goes on you buddies at home. You guys know exactly what this guy's feeling like us. You do this on a regular basis, so we try to talk to the viewer to enhance the viewer experience. Now what I'm seeing on television is a lot of pros. Talk back and forth the pros in pro, speak. And I'm not sure that that's that's all that appealing to me, whereas kind of going with that, and not to poach to directly from your appearance on the mckellar podcast, which was excellent by the way, but you sounded much more relieved to be kind of away from I. Believe the phrase use of something along the lines of the propaganda machine. I have made peace with everything. You know whatever those stages of mourning are. I went through them all. It's all cool, especially in this in this covid nineteen environment. I I'm quite frankly happy not to be out there. You know exposing myself to two possible health risks, and so on and so forth, and I don't really need to. After all the years that I've done it. I don't need to play the game any longer, and that's formed for me. It's it's so refreshing for me to be able to to answer questions honestly and not politically correctly like I said before speak

Super Bowl 2019: Pregame coverage before Patriots vs. Rams

"The game, of course, is a big part of it. But also there are other sort of story lines beyond the the Rams and the patriots in a couple of them. There are interesting to me is I want to start Myron with with with gronk. He's kind of had a resurgence a little bit here in the playoffs starting to see a little bit of the gronk of bold wrestlemainia is the first Sunday in April. I'm of the belief that I'm going to see grog make his debut in the WWE it wrestlemainia and then his time in football. Is over. After today. Do you agree with that? And do you think that whatever happened today win or lose could have any effect either way? Well, I think that makes a lot of sense excuse me, especially because you're talking about a guy who can probably get millions of dollars on a pretty limited. Wrestling scheduled Cadillac around. Arousing Brock Leser, like it's not like the old days where he's going to have to wrestle three hundred days out of the year. This guy's going to get paid to show up on special events and make millions. He's talked so much about how much money he saved throughout his career. He's talked about not wanting to play too long. I don't know if today affects anything because he's a first ballot hall of Famer whether he wins or loses today, he's got a bunch of money in the Bank. And I think he could be the next rock in. In. I think he could be that. He's got a personality. You're not a wrestling guy. He's not the rock rock. Am wrestling. He could be that. Well, rock started out as what rocky my via. He was fighting from the family name. And then he emerged as his own way. I can't broadcast that personality in the WWE. We'll promote him. I think he could become a superstar who eventually goes in the movies and forgets football. All right. I I'm not going to argue with the wrestling part of it. But because you're wrong. But Dan, do you think this is it for I? Yeah, I do. But I do believe that tonight's result swings that okay? I can see if they lose tonight especially in close ballgame Brady convincing gronk for another year. Come back for another year. Don't forget is AO win the first round tackled. It's not part of this team. He'll be back. Like, we give me one more run. Gronk I can see that happening. Now, if they win I do believe that he calls it a career as he rightfully shit. Don't take don't. Remember, the comments he made this last week of him talking about the wear and tear, and how much it weighs on you. Mentally, and how hard it is to get hurt and have to practice, and how difficult it that difficult of a thing that is now to say that he's the next rock is absolutely outrageous. Like the row how first of all the rock is the rock was a guy that went into wrestling because that was the the the means to an end that was the vehicle. News and his family had been. He was going to you second of all the rock is incredibly business savvy and Hollywood savvy works like a dog like this is a guy. When it comes to football. Yes. When it comes to training for football. Yes. But he doesn't. I mean, the rock literally works like a dog. I need more talking about the rotten. Now. I saw the rock when he was in survivor series as rocky my via no one knew he wasn't good. And he was trying to figure out who he would be gronk could come in in the social media air, which rocketed the rock didn't come in in the social media era. All I'm saying is gronk could be a superstar in wrestling. Well, let me add gronk is only he's only twenty nine it feels like he's been around forever damnit. He's only twenty nine now he's taking a lot of hits bodies like a forty year old guy. But I guess what I'm saying is listen to countdown to kickoff on ESPN radio you've been through this process and Myron, and I haven't the process to decide you know, what that's it. Right. That's a hard process for every athlete. No matter the level, whether you're elite or not is it in part of it. I think is do I have something to go. Do do you think? I mean, we we talk about wrestling and a lot of people may roll their eyes. But it is something I know he can do if he wants whether it can be great or not he can do it is that talked to me about the process of saying I'm walking away. And and how how how players go through that mindset. Yeah. I mean for for me, you know, it was a great majority of it was I don't love the crap anymore. Doesn't it feel like he doesn't either? Yeah. I mean, that's that's no you're not gonna pay. Now granted if someone was going to pay me five million dollars. I would have dealt with it again, if someone's gonna pay gronk ten or twelve million dollars, maybe, but you get you deal with the crap. Like, so many people doing their job you do with that crap. Because you still love it. You love all the things that competition the locker room, the fellas the drive to be great the work, you love all that. And then once you don't love the dealing with the crap anymore that stuff doesn't matter anymore. It's not worth it anymore. And that's when you start facing the question of do I wanna do this anymore? And it makes it completely now. When I went through my transition, I wasn't for sure. Like, I was like all right. I want to get into analysts in broadcasting get into TV TV. And I was like I'm just gonna go rather than sitter sitting around. And wait. So I knew that there was at least the opportunity there for me. Gronk scan have way more. More than I had presented to him. But if you get to that point where you're done loving, the crap that you have to deal with and there are avenues for you to go. It makes it such an easier decision in move for you to go. You know what I'm done? Here's the next Chad having those options, I do think is is huge. You will have a lot of options. And you didn't know when you quit you're going to get to do a show with Matt Jones in my. But then sometimes I have earlier if I did exactly the Lord's blessing. There you are. So let's talk about the next to the players on the field. Maybe the person that has the most sort of its state today. Myron is your guy Tony Romo? I mean. I'm not sure an announcer has gotten this level of praise maybe ever like universal praise of people going Stephen Smith said is the best performance he'd ever seen from an announcer. And so the thing is that's awesome. Except you've got one more game. And I always of the opinion the most important two days in your life or the first in the last at a job. Well, the last impression he's gonna get from us is this game. Is there pressure on him to recreate the magic from two weeks ago? I think there's a ton of pressure on him to do that. And I think the problem is announcers like him who get this early praise. How many of them go down as being folks? And a lot of people don't like, you know, it's unfortunate because you start out liking guys like Tony Romo. He deserves all of this praise, but because you expect now people expect him to be some profit every game the minute. He shows any sort of flora weakness people are gonna jump onto that and start to criticize him. But I think he's facing more pressure than any announcer at a Super Bowl or any analysts had a Super Bowl that I can remember because people think he's like something we haven't seen before. And now he's going to have to deal with that pressure. Incomes care like most of the time. I'll be honest with you, Dan. I don't even know who the announcers are until I realized what network game is on. But with Romo I mean, there are prop bets on how many he's gonna call. Like, this is he is not the biggest story the game is. But you know, he's the second third or fourth. Biggest story. I think a big part of it too is like people are having a ton of fun listening to him. Torino because not only is he very good at what he does in. I've said this as a broadcaster networks you better have quarterbacks on there. Because you you've gotta be able to get people to understand the game different levels that communicated to all kinds of people. But it's the fact of he continuously telling educating people on the wise in house put it's fun. Like, you're having fun. Like John Madden was the last announcer. Who seemed like he was having as much fun as Romo, and it's it's okay. For him to talk over Jim Nance for a second. Because if you were sitting at a bar with your friends are in the living room having a beer with your friends. You talk over your buddy here in this moment. So it's not like this. You know in cookie cutter ish. Oh, we don't do that. Because it's television. But what happens if I'm saying is really good. Then I'm gonna do it. You know? And I think that there is that appreciation for for from people going like this is really good. And he's telling me stuff, that's really. Good. But also like the fact that there's really nobody else on TV sounding like him in ways. Like that like talking over Jim Nance, Jayme lake. It just seems like he's having a blast doing it. There are very few announcers who make the crossover into a personality that they matter Madden did mired. I'd say Barkley has vital. Did like there are many. And I think romo's headed groups, Dan Orlovsky will continue to be on. Would you agree with that? Yes. I think he is definitely in that group of guys where you go. You're now going to watch games because romo's attached to it doesn't matter the game because he's gonna make any game more interesting. Just because of who he is become he's become a part of the game now, and that's a good thing. Because like damn fed people. Like, I think I honestly think there are very few announcers that them just being there matters. I think John Madden. Did I think dick Vitale did Bill Walton? I think dick Vitale did. And I think I think Tony Romo is is sort of becoming like that who's going to win the game. After all this talk who actually is going to

All the important questions as Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson go head to head in The Match

"He had a dinner with Tony Romo. And that was Tigers. Pro-am partnered Pebble Beach back in two thousand twelve and he went to dinner with Tony Romo just to bother. Tiger woods. So Phil said that you know, Tigers partner was Tony Romo and that night before the final round Saturday was big dinner. The Jim Nance put on I got seated next to Tony. We had a great night had a lot of fun. But I knew it would bother tiger that I had dinner with his partner. Tony knew this would also bother him. So he said, it was caddy do not mention that we had dinner last. Knight. Phil don't bring up the dinner. We're on the I t I IT off tiger tees off. I wait before I walk off because I want to distance myself between me and Tony. So I could say it loud enough. So as we're walking off the first TI yell out. Hey, Tony, Tony that was so much fun. Last night. I loved the dinner that was the greatest and tiger looks at him and said, you know, giving that look like that was a big deal Mickelson called her a moment that he laughs with tiger about now. But at the time, it was pretty intense. Mickelson ended up winning. But isn't that what we're all hoping for this weekend at the matches that one of them goes a little real in jab like UFA, like when I want a guy puts one in the weeds and just has a little Ouch. Just enough to. Okay, now, it's real, and it's a real competition because that's what ever wants. I hope we have some of that. Because tiger never let you in. It's rare when he let you in. But if he does then I'd love to hear the sense of humor, see the sense of humor or just to see a subtle dig their or the gamesmanship that goes on in what you would think they would be really wanting to say like if you had thought bubbles this time. You don't have thought bubbles. You just actually had their thoughts. That's what would be great Friday after thanksgiving.
