I was so into imports. So you'll watch the movie in a yellow into the track right after. No no no no no no no no no no on the weekends we will go down south jersey to english town with a try and we would race. You know all your race on an actual track absolutely you want to know how you want to know how fast because on you can't i you can talk shift for beaten because you know there was illegal street racing air by did illegal street racing but talking about but at the end no. You know what i'm saying so you know see we. We had this spot in corpus called the tea heads and What they were. It's like downtown like right by the water so it was just like stretches a twenty five over and over and over so everybody would go out there like midnight. Nobody's there and they were just and it was weird too because everybody in the city. New desks where you go for like the upper echelon street races but for some reason the cops were never. There was weird. I don't know maybe somebody's paint. Offer some shit. Yeah yeah yeah so I i had a j spec engine. Who was that somebody imports adu- had a j. spec integra which means a japanese version type. Aw moda and i had that in a what. What what. Year was a non seven bubble. Probably in a non seven bubble because I can't remember the executive but babble. We mean civic and those were lighter than the body that the motor originally came in. You know what i'm saying. I was all muscle. That's why i transferred to american muscle because Imports you can only go so fast. All muscle i mean and then you know everybody either doing turbo or supercharging. There's just like that's cheating me man in maine. I really liked that. So they're not transferred to america muscle. Which both you could buy a car. Off the dila american muscle and get one hundred horsepower. Meanwhile with import you spend thousands to try to get to sit. I mean now should exchange. Don't get me wrong now. People fucking using bro. The new integra motors with the new pilot. The honda pilot blackmail take out. The governor's shit like that people do a bunch of everything. My cousin had the kamerhe. The ss y'all. He will us imports like american muscle. Listen you know. I'm not saying that their you can't suba an import to be an ss gt. Or whatever you could put. All i'm saying is that every time he went against he just smoking me probably was gonna some. Nobody's man because every import. I probably right every every import hear nowadays. I like the old brand fights berry and he was more like trying to get that name out there and being like look shit. See right now. He's like again back like already made the big bucks. Somebody somebody. I remember Somebody compared you Before to brian kenny. When you doing your interview thing early on early on in his high praise high praise. I wish fucking Brian kenny's top of the food chain. We got texas bulldogs says. Shame on channels like punchdrunk from descending valdez. To saying nello is bigger than boxing. The dying bending valdez. So then what he's saying. You wanna you wanna let me see it. Shame on channels like punchdrunk for defending valdez to sane capello's bigger than boxing. The dynamics basically. I'm latino. And i don't care if they're on royds Guess i guess there's a character limit because he punched that all. Then i'm like okay. Yeah i saw that. And then we did john doe so it's time to go because we got everybody unless kimes available these days go double back before no no no and on blog talk. There's a lot of people with impress. "We're those two guys who beat the brakes each other man. I didn't realize alex kalia joined the show but good would be be so so rose colored about all this. I hope you're right. Man and vitor is is not a dumb dude at all towards really smart and so it is entirely possible. The veto is reading the tea leaves correctly and that is that is the way this should happen. But i i. I just have a fear. That's not it. And i hope i'm wrong. And because don't nobody wants to see year of andrew. Holyfield gid slapped by veto belfour in a boxing match. That doesn't mean anything so i- ugly right and if so That will make anything else. Better like if because vitor was was very very self aware and aware of the moment does not make anything better that this happened nor was allowed to happen in the first place and it doesn't fix the chiller other horrible inclusion of that don't want to spend time about but we can't say because how do you not talk about fact that a former. Us president is somehow going to commentate this thing and i thought you're going to talk about them trying to bring marvin gaye back to life to performance snoop dogg but yes i i love marvin gaye so i'm okay with it. It's not it's not. It's not good but Marvan as the man true story would ever. I'm having really really shitty round of golf. We throw a marvin gaye to try and pick me up back back out of this because marvin gaye is just. He's nikon is a is a peaceful jam. Dude literally everything. He has a peaceful jazz. But yeah i mean. I don't know if you're blasting sexual healing on the golf course but sexual healy actually is. That's that really. Gets me going i to be feeling strong out there. You know just Any it's only spotify playlist or whatever you just let it let rotate through and lead. Marvin marvin take your home in. So what do you think about this whole thing. we got we got donald trump. Who is who phoned in at the press conference we had donald trump junior who was at the press conference and i felt like between the two of those guys was thirty minutes. The free press conference was asking those questions i get. It's a big deal for those guys to get those guys. You can't just let them come in and you gotta ask questions and making part of the show so yeah so it's how houses name so it's trump trump junior todd grisham. That's today i was looking for. And that is the alternate commentary. And then we don't even know who's going to be commentating the other car because jim lampley has reportedly walked away mad props to jim lampley Because those like one of the first things that was said in some private conversations me a like once the trump thing was like. Wow jim lampley is really just crater in his reputation out. He could've done it. He could could've settled for tying his reputation. Oscar de la hoya and anderson silverstein ortiz. But this carnival of of failure and sand. He's like no man. I'm not a knock. And i'm better than this and good for him. He's he's acting like a responsible As florida man. I think it's an awful idea because it has no value That i the what bring donald trump in does not bring value to the broadcast in need sustainable way. It is a clear it's a cloud. Grab and that's fine. And maybe it gets a few more eyeballs. I really doubt that case 'cause like who are people really going to pay just to your donald trump not commented on a fight. They don't give a shit about 'cause he's it's not like it's not like former president. Donald trump is going to be. Give us a rousing play-by-play you it is not clever at all for me to tell you what's going to be said because i'm not making a joke but you listener at home can probably just quickly sketch out. Donald trump's commentary. And i bet you you're going to be like eighty percent right like the only. The only thing that i think would be a value is if somehow this professional fighter quote unquote. A bad decision is rendered. Then having trump commented that would be funny because he would immediately be like. That is the worst decision then Joe biden taking the in for me and that would be funny to watch that that meant deal with his pain in that way but other than that like there's nothing he brings nothing. He's not going to talk about the fights. One bad thing from trilogy. The last time was all the other people they brought in. Like mario lopez who doesn't know fighting was was trying his best to make things interesting was awful. Like just have jim lampley do it. But now you can't even get that so it's going to be awful and again i'm not gonna give him money and i just not either instead tune into intimate finding dot com. You can get all of the coverage that you need and anything relevant. You can read about it there. What is your dog. i mean. Me and oscar willis. We're talking about this today because he we're talking about it and looking at the landscape and what's going on this weekend yes it's got college football back we get the nfl coming back. It's tom brady's about literally about to go and defending title and just do the damn thing because he's just the greatest of all time but how many pay per view buys does this thing do over under two hundred thousand. Does it be two hundred thousand. I think it does to fifty. I think it's i think it's it's certainly under half a mil. I think it's under three probably. Is that successful though with this car if they do. Three hundred. thousand. Pay per view buys with fifty eight-year-old abandoned holyfield vs vitor belfort. Who is one. Oh or owen. Wanted a professional boxer and they three hundred thousand pay per view buys. Is this a win for them at no idea. That would almost entirely depend on financials realistically like three hundred fifty. I honestly to fifty might still be a little high. But i'm getting it the benefit of the doubt to fifties while you can expect a pretty bad. Ufc paper to pull just in general and this for all for all the failures of this card and there are many it does at least have really marquee names at the top of it. I also changed my mind mike. I'm actually totally pro. Donald trump commentary if only one major caveat. If there's someone can link me to a sports book that is taking an over under bets on. How many times. Trump mentioned the election and or joe biden. Then i'm in. Because i would absolutely watch at that. Microphone for however long taking the. I'm smashing the over. Whatever it is they could number cango to smashing the over amateur makes money on saturday. What would be more surprising. Trump not mentioned that mentioned the election at all or this car. Doing a million pay per view buys definitely trump not mentioning the election at all like. There's there's zero percent chance he doesn't at least make snide comment about it. There's some world we're putting. Donald trump on the pay per view just galvanizes his fan base into buying it. And if so then that's a calculated genius move by trailer and fair. Bladed them they did. I don't think it's gonna work out that way. But i could at least see..

"He took on the responsibility of trying to lift and enlighten our troubled sport So you know if it came to me and said we're going to do this. Oscar de la exhibition. You are going to be sitting ringside because we made you a deal and we're paying you money etc etc. I think i would probably give it very strong consideration. And not put up some kind of stringent Unattractive fight but. I'm not going to tell you that. This is oscar de la hoya approving greatness as a fighters that happened a long time ago. Fewer things. I want to ask you about four. Let you go. Hbo and the end of it as you look back on the end of hbo. Boxing is there anything you think they could have done differently to continue on in the sport. Obviously there has been more money put into the sport than ever before more networks in the sport. The never before but where you think there was anything. Hbo could have done to have main remained a prominent player in boxing. Yes if time warner had not been sold. A t and t. I firmly believe if time warner had not been stilled. At and t. that there would still be. Hbo boxing to this day That franchise was extremely meaningful to hbo. You could make the case that if you go back and look at the beep. The eighty s and what boxing Hbo in the eighties. It was the primary factor in establishing the identity of the network that was before sopranos that was for the wire that was before all of the drama inventions and other special events that made the network. What it was so Hbo odor locked the boxing and boxing a lot the hbo. And it's unfortunate that the people at at and t. Who bought time warner chose not to recognize or appreciate that or decided that that was not significant in the future of the net. I think if they hadn't bought it it would still be there when you were told. Boxing was coming to an end. What was your reaction sad You know sad for sad for all my co workers you know. "If if you were to use the previous example, you brought up if you're Michael Jordan. Larry Bird if you're if you're Jack Nicklaus if your call Lewis I, mean I've known a bunch. These people burn. to avoid living I, I'll never get one when I was first working on the college football telecasts, nineteen, seventy four, after having been chosen from that talented, and I had the privilege in the first seven weeks of that job to really get to know pretty well. Both Bear Bryant and our Royal The to Leeann coaching icons the day for for my money and and I wound up going to the events following home football games, winning home, Football Games with both Darrell royal and and Bear Bryant and Saw Moment legitimate celebration. I don't think I ever saw either of them. let guard down enough to actually take pleasure in what they had accomplished. It was all about avoiding the pain of loss, and I think Jordan was the same way I think. Was the same way and I think tiger really. Is that way I mean he? He exhibits joy momentarily, but there's no question. For you hit forty eight hours later. It's about avoiding lost the next time. that that is what Burns most intensely for great athletes. They cannot endure. Pride deflation that goes with this. One of the things that I've said many times throughout the. Great athletes is that when the game is on the line? They truly want to be the ones that determine the outcome. Michael told me that he did Reggie Jackson told me the same thing. Billie, Jean. King is that a commonality among the great ones as well absolutely, and it comes from. It comes not from desire to show off or to be the center of ten. It comes from the competitive arrogance. Doesn't trust anybody else to handle that moment? It it comes from saying I. Want that guy or that guy or that? Other person to take the big shot I rather trust me. I'd rather trust me. I'd rather live and die with whether it went in I mean one of the greatest Nike ads ever was the one that that articulated that I think it was Michael Jordan had hit sixty five game, winning shots in the NBA or something like that and seventy nine times he'd taken a game winning shot and missed. That that's that brings home the reality of what it means to shoulder that responsibility and one of the things I've always said about Jordan. Jordan shouldered everything with regard to the responsibilities. He could take on that team. He was the important force in practice. He was the communicative link between the team and management. He was the person who communicated to the coach on a regular basis. How it was the players felt about what was going on. He was the identifying competitive image on which the other team would have to fixate. He was the first spokesperson who greeted reporters when they. They came into the door to the locker room. He was the off season voice with the team. No individual in the history of American team sports shoulder more responsibility for his team's success or failure than Jordan and that to me is what makes him the the most historic team sport athlete, maybe not the greatest, but the one who had the most institutional significance because he reached for every responsibility confined. How do you find then the fear of failure, which I have found to be a great motivating factor for the highly skilled athlete? How does that factor into their performance? It's everything I mean they like I say they can't stand the pride deflation that goes with the deceit, and it's that fear defeat, and that need to be clear on it. Clear the stain. On the right side of the equation that forces them to practice longer and heart with more intensity Michael Jordan. Go to great lengths to intimidate opponents Muhammad Ali Larry Bird. I think all these things are outgrowths. Exactly what you say they cannot afford to lose isn't any different for the athlete if they're an individual sport as compared to a team sport. I think you know. What in individuals for and you you, you have less chance to. Try to lay it off on. Someone else although I've seen a lot of fighters you know and and golfers who do it, but at the end of the day I mean. I think you have to be a little bit more of a kid early on, you got to grow up faster if you're in an individual sport and I always say, fires are not like other human beings, fighters live a life so bizarre in the combination of self deprivation, self disciplined control etcetera. ranging to outrageous excess rewards beyond any description, the richest athletes in the world, except for Grand Prix racers the ones with the biggest parties, the most girls. The most unity to show off their wealth and Cetera et Cetera, those are fighters, so so when you have guys like Delaware and Lennox Lewis who can put the hundred and fifty million dollars in the bank, and still doing to the gym and burn and be able to compete and be the best. It's you know the most overuse word in sports, but it's near incredible to me that people can do that Jim. I want to thank you very much. It's been a very insightful interview, and also your work has been outstanding I respect I, admire it and I hope it continues for a long time. Thank you, Jim. How Tyson Fury Defeated Deontay Wilder In the Ring and Outside of It

"Talking a little bit about this story that we got into in one of our episodes last week Where British box Tyson fury mistaken on American deontay wilder and we all know the from the last episode wilder claimed that he lost the fight because he had put on this big heavy suit of armor to hype the fight and his walk into the ring he had to wear this and it was a forty pound cost. You Mia no one bought it. Let's just say that. But he's sitting in heavy legs as a result. Basically a guy didn't want to give credit to his opponent. Yeah it'd be. It'd be a little different. It'd be a little different Steve. If it was a figure skater. Who said that to wear forty pounds thing or a gymnast fucking heavyweight boxer? You know carry four hundred pounds anyway. That's initially stupid. Go ahead yeah. So fury on the other hand Well his preparations for the fight. We're kind of interesting he. He actually boldly predicted he'd knocked wilder at within the first two rounds and he was right he did but he also revealed that his preparation for the fight is bizarre side. He wanted to keep his testosterone just absolutely pumping so we did a lot of things you didn't before he eight five six meals a day. He drank seven leaders of water. Any masturbated six seven times a day to keep his testosterone admitted that the keys to victory seven times a day. Good good well. They always do that thing. Jim Lampley does the tale of the tape in. Oh yeah here's a fury. Is this tall the ways this much ice from this area? He Masturbate seven times a day. I love to see that in a graphic. Yeah Hang on. Put another five hundred on the guy that last stat okay. Low loan up. Wow surely can't beat that. Where Steve Are you doing that like? You can't spend your whole day in a bathroom. There's gotTa be other places where he's at a restaurant going. Excuse me I'll be right back here. This soup was amazing. I've gotta go look at these seats in this car. I mean how do you fit in seven times a day Steve? How do you fit that? You pick up the mail here all my God. The color of this envelope is I gotta go. What are you doing? Oh my God. We're at a restaurant here. For God's sake stop it now. Don't question success this might be. This might turn into a thing now now that people know that this kind of thing helps you win. "Foreman made a comeback. But Mike Mike Is. Mike is up there. Mike is Mike is up there so so powerful pound when you look at Fighters in all spectrum so in a wrestling show always fucking when we talk about everything talking about everything especially when it comes to the hangs happy hour POW POW who was probably either an a or in boxing. Everybody says apples and oranges. It's but still papa pal fighting fires just fighters fighting like this if you like to do the top to be bad as motherfucking boxing. MMA who would you put in boxing That's that's a hard one. I have to put Mike up there. Mike is definitely one bad bad motherfuckers. Yeah a close second. Is Roberto Durant who. That's a good one. That's a good. When the second is a lot of people never ever sleep on durant all they they always give him shit because of sugar? That's going on so he destroyed. Leonard I fight right destroyed him and people don't ever have a bucket picador ever remember that because it's because no masters famous you know he'd straight he turns away from him and he says he says no moss but we'll all remember no moss and and not because I'm pro is micky ward. Micky Ward is one of my favorites. You know he's he was behind. Tyson Micky Ward. Probably my second favorite boxer in that left took to the body. You know what I mean like. He was A. That's a bad mother you know. Let Talk to the buggy like and it put dude people hit to the body all the time but he put like people like Oh my God I gotta get the go-to opposite to our definitely have got he got. He was in fucked. Anybody I know I know I mean well I mean this guy. In the first two or three rounds that people was like all he's in Ward beat him the first of the first fight. He'd be knocked them that he did not them down with a left hook to the body you know and a WHO Shit whose cat his name is GonNa Kill my buddy. Mike is in a fucking Britain. Who is WHO's the unanswered? Hbo Boxing Oh aw Damnit Shit Oh my God. We're we're assholes. Yeah exactly I just anyway. You'll you'll find it you'll find it but war was God who was in fights we with Tottenham lympne Julia. Joe Jim Lampley Jim. Lampley right goes towards money as he comes out and he's just like it's and it's and he's inching toward retirement. You know what I mean. He's with the left hook to the body right. You know. It's his money money shot. Obviously it's Congress left you know The overhand right by Ramp Hendro overhand right Mike was left hook with the straight right. You know had a famous like punch Oh Yeah Yeah. The Roy Jones you had the sweep he had his fucking on sweep sweep. EPA another bad motherfucker a bad mother in MMA MMA Chuck Chuck Odell. Tito Tito Tito. It was a bad motherfucker steep of course these steep steep as bad as we speak about the St pay his last fight he had with uh-huh beautiful I say. No he said you know and good the sign. Oh He's a man he was just like my hair's astounding because like seriously like the last Y- the Joe Rogan go ooh body. I don't know if you noticed I I usually don't facebook and I said that that is probably the best adjustment I've ever seen it any fight in the history unfounded. He found the opening. They went to the court he was down for a a lot of judges would have had them in the first three rounds. If it went to decision you know he'd lost Utah. Yeah I think he would have lost my decision. Yeah but when they I went to the corner I don't know if they quarter the Mike but there was that talk about listen. He's doing something he's you. He's dropping look at it and get it and once you hit okay. I'm hit him in the once. You goes down and once they saw that one was like it was a wrap around and I said and I was at work. I was at work watching. I'M GONNA fucking phone watching so only shitty fucking busted his ass. I didn't know what was going to do that to him so glad I'm so oh glad that he won again against me too. I'm so glad that he He got his revenge one. Because I don't want to call that the fight he would call me a fluke. The call me a bitch and Moan. I'd really disliked. Cormet did this last year. He Bitch and Moan about how John Jones pokes people on the I. If you see the the fight beforehand we. We won the heavyweight title Steepest is closed and he hits him with the hook and he drops them. You can't see you fucking is like yeah. Sure I'll continue Tinubu like a like a like a like an idiot every everybody would do right. Yeah and he can't see drops him in one round. Plus he fought Gano a couple of months before it was dropped. Still one on Boone's dropped so in his chin was tested and you know it broke his chin like he had a year to recover. Shin was was backward. NEEDS TO BE TOOK A. He ate a lot of shots. I was getting getting really worried. But once he made that adjustment. And you could hear the smacks. Yeah I mean it would Max on his legitimately a moment in time and I said Tame I wish it because I fell in the corner. It's just like what I like about. MMA is or at least the structure is a lot like a school. Boxing is structured. It's a box literally a box. It's you know when somebody's down there down you go down to Whitney or down right in. MMA like if if you're curled up in a ball you know it's just like the fights over your co them in ball like I'm currently the foot in school like the most people you just pray that the teacher the principal reference to fight is over. You're right the wherever's beating you up one fight you know what I mean unless it's like a miracle where you get up you know what I mean. But when you're like this you know Brooklyn when he was a when his asked. You Ain't gotta ask it by CAIN Velasquez Right. He was covering up in. His face was BLAZEK. Lisa broke you lost the fight like you know he beat you up. He beat you up steep be up eventually. Yeah she ate up Daniel. I said there's a lot a lot of there's a lot of times when people don't understand the science of what it is to be in a fight because that's what everybody thinks fights like fucking especially Mayo boxing as I got him a job with the one hitter quitter and that say no there is a method to this fucking Especially when you you're you're going to the toll. What a man who knows? What the fuck do win Conor McGregor when you first chess is just moon when connor I jumped on the scene? Connor was smoking dudes around smoking. Unlike and not just not just like one hit us like all right I set you up. Boom boom boom He's not going to. I know what I'm doing. He's his hands it down. I'M GONNA knock them out and write doc them out right now. BOP BOP BOP because usually in fights you wanNA break the body now because you wanNA drop the fighter's hands down whereas in that fight. Will he also kicks Connors. Excellent with kick in the body right you know but when it comes to fight his everything is like it's either. Derek Carr wants to fight everyone on first take. Because max Kellerman said that he doesn't know how much they would be able to get for Derek Carr. Is that right? Yes. Something like that. And Stephen Smith has been piling onto. I'm actually shocked at Steve Naismith knew that Derek Carr was the quarterback of the raiders. Yeah. And I also am not shot while I'm not shocked at Stephen a Smith has somehow find a way to insert himself into a story like this. Because this is a classic Stephen a Smith move. Yes. Carmelo Anthony take my name out of your Phil Jackson. If I see Phil Jackson fade onsite basically threatened. Phil jackson. Visit he no he threatened. Kevin Durant to. That's right. "All right. Very cool. So. That one also has two title fights. Right. Yeah. That dillashaw fight with the boxing. Amanda, so Arnold on the card as well. Jerry. Raining. I just Andre. I don't know about the other fight. Randy will Amanda Serano be fighting on that card as well. Amanda Serano is on the card. I mean, she is really she's very special. The unfortunate thing about the females as when you're on top. There's just not a lot of competition a through and through. So I mean, they they take what they can. But she really is a very very special fighter. She really is. Yeah. You have Chris L? Jerry goes remember him? Yeah. He's going to be on the card as well. He caught Manny Pacquiao who by the way bites the next day here at the MGM, lots of boxing going on right? Yeah. Chris L, Jerry, former one hundred forty pound champion. He really made a mistake. You know, he he's he admitted that he went after the money he moved up, and he fought the legendary Manny Pacquiao in a fight that he just didn't belong to be in and Manny Pacquiao took him apart. And then later on he fought Errol, Spence another fight that he just shouldn't have been in. But he's back, and I'm told he's looking absolutely tremendous in training, and he's always in one thousand percent shape. Jerry. I can't believe that the one thing about Al, Jerry. I mean, this is a guy who could fight all night and not even breathe hard. But he cannot basically not concerto for hot fudge sundae. Yeah. He's not a big puncher. You're right. Not at all. But he is fighting, and he he's just a he's just a love when when you know him, and you watch how he treats the fans and everything he really is just a a fantastic person. And yeah, so he's going to be on that card at at the garden on Friday night. So isn't it cool? Now Randy I think the tide has changed. Do you? Remember about ten years ago fifteen years ago, there was a division between boxing anime fans. And now what I'm seeing is a lot of crossover whether it's media, whether it's the fans, why do you think that happened was boxing, maybe a little bit threatened by successive enemy, and maybe pushed back or what do you think happened is? I know Jim Lampley a lot of people are very vocal at first. But now, it's the other way round. Boxing, really was I think in the doldrums a little bit. And I'm lucky because I love them both. But yet I'd walk into the gyms where I was training and many people you either m may or you were boxing and the guys could say nothing. Nice about boxers in the boxing fans could say nothing nice about the way. And now, I think because of a lot of crossover fights in the Conor McGregor stuff in the the Mayweather this. And that I think they finally have kind of melted together. And I believe that all the fans many of the fans I see who are MMA fans are now boxing fans and vice versa. And I think that also with the UFC just being so red hot. I think it it basically forced a lot of the fight promoters to step up their game. And I think you you've seen boxing really come on in the last few years. So we're getting the the best. Of both worlds, I'm the happiest combat sports fan in the world. No, I think boxing is doing the best. It's been in the last probably twenty five thirty years. Yes. And so many good fights. Yeah. I'm excited supposed resilient of all sports because they would say once Allie stop fighting. It'll never be the same be LA Hoya. But there's always somebody Ryan. And right now, it's it's really really great. And I'm looking forward to to be in there Friday night. I I every time I want to go to a fight here. I got a fight out of the country, or so I will not be at the pack. He'll fight. But see I wish that I was going to be in Vegas for that one for the Pac yo Brunner fight. That is a fight where so many people, you know, pack, yells, an absolute legend. Here's a guy who's first ballot International Boxing hall of fame.

Do you have some kind of trick or something like some mental game or something that you play that helps you retain information that you'd have some people will do they'll come up with a nickname to remember somebody's name. No, those mechanisms that people. Do I found that the people who are really good at this have a great memory? Costas has a great memory. Al has the best sports memory. I've ever been around when you sit down and have dinner with him. I can say, you know, that seventy nine pirates team, and he'll tell you date inning temperature amazing. When they were playing the Orioles, Dan, I remember game. Like, you're just it's it's it's possible to remember all that he's remembered, but Jim Lampley has one of the great sports minds. They're just certain people who were able to take snapshots of their entire career of sporting events. And remember that an retain information yesterday. Did you ever in your early days before you got a lot of reps under your belt to have one of those panic or exiled attacks where you just felt overwhelmed like when you're about to take a midterm refinery. You just freezing. You think you're forgetting everything he's supposed to do. I still have nightmares to this day of walking down the sportscenter and not having any scripts written or that I'm going to show up late for sportscenter. To this day. A couple times a year. "Perished. You're gonna be seventy. One hundred hundred off. Little often Funkhouser. Funkhouser Funkhouser what a great character. What a great comic mind. So this week. Listen, man, meaning Oakland and Funkhouser Boban both people that were parts of our child. Yes. Both seventy six years old. And you're forgetting captain Antonio Daryl dragon. Yeah. I think we're waiting for someone a little more relevance are now captain from Capitol Hill. I'll say. Happens in threes. Why don't we just take him? And so that no one. Die. Apparently exactly Richard still waiting for some cooler. Somewhat cooler. It's unfortunate. That makes me think when you say mean Jean because I think that's a that's a really big one for our generation mean Jean Oakland. You know, it makes me think of the faint Howard Finkel. I know you do great imprac hoping dole makes me think. Yeah. He was great greats the broadcasters. The announcers and it brings us to debate. Yeah. And buckle in for this one pal. Guys buckle up butter cups and give us a call eight eight eight say ESPN because we want to put this threat. I think once and for all when you think of the mean jeans and the thing calls, I think of the buffers, Bruce, and Michael, Bruce, I is where. You're you're you're noggins in the wrong place the buffer brothers. There's a whole story behind it that if you really want to do your homework, look it up how they found each other. And Bruce was watching TV's Michael buffer dead. We related to this guy. And then he found out. I was his brother. They mad. There's a whole bromance? And they partnered up. He started a company BRUCE'S, literally up romance was BRUCE'S, the guy that said we need to get copyrights and patent trademark. Let's get ready to even say, I didn't even know this whole rumor say a bazillion dollars. I got kids that I know I don't know the rules there. But you know, they they were long lost brothers, and Bruce turns out to be a famous announcer years later, and the UFC the debate here is who's more mammoth? This is something that we've done for years on our talk show convene on rich on facts and talk on Sirius XM who's more mammoth. Now, here's my side of the debate. Okay. Of course, one is more icon ick. Let me make that clear. Michael buffer is synonymous with main event, he's like a circus announcer. Scott comes out he might as well wear top. You know what I mean? This guy familiar watching around the world, right, right? If he's there, you know, it's a main event he let you know, it's time to run by now. So when when it comes to conic, yes, Michael buffer is legendary. But when you say who's more mammoth just strictly based on what's more popular right now, which for me as a boxing fan. It's it's an I say this loosely, unfortunately, mixed martial arts and UFC also love that. But just based on the fact that mixed martial arts and UFC are more popular now. Yes, suffer by the fault is more wrong. And he also has his catchphrases and he. Identifies to a younger and bigger and broader generation now offer done you'll not get sued. If you give them props order burst. Buffers catches we are live. And it's it's it's, hey, by the way, take this coffee mug and smash over your head because you're an idiot. No, the millions all over the world on ESPN radio would agree with me Steve Carino over rich, you know, that once iconic, but once more. Listen, I always I always side with you. No. And you're wrong here. Yeah. Thank you. Figure people don't even really like boxing anymore. You're going to save Michael buffers boxing, but they like Michael buffer when Michael buffer that comes from makes boxing, Michael buffer comes out there. Yeah. There's there's a there's a sense of even even guy. He's got that energy talk. Yeah. The the BDA's they call it. Yeah. Look it up Michael buffer walks out there. And women who don't care about the fight your buddies who don't care about boxing. All all look at the TV and go, oh, it's Michael buffer because they know who he is. He is part of not only the real world. He's part of the rocky Balboa universe seem like max Kellerman. Jim Lampley and Warner Wolfe. I picked this is the only people that live in that fake world. I'm trying to think was the classic James Lennon junior ever part of that. I don't think listen when it comes to the buffers. I get it what buffer buffet Rufus, bruises the buffets. I you think this. I know this how Michael buffer. It's a it's a this is a generational like timely debate. If we were debating this in the eighties. Yeah. Michael buffer wins eighties even nineties. With now the time of mixed martial arts in UFC in boxing. No one really cares as much about. It is Bruce the current. They answer by far when we're discussing who's more, ma'am? More people still watch boxing. It's like it's one of those misconceptions where you pay dude. I love boxing. Michael buffer way more mammoth. I know you agree that Michael buffer more icon. Rank these people let me finish my statement. And we'll take some Michael buffer. We agree more icon ick. The argument here is who is more relevant in twenty nineteen Michael or Bruce buffer because there is a viper. A younger generation may be flexed at twenty nineteen. You're so proud to get Russell proud of myself because I almost said twenty eight hundred who's more relevant in in two thousand nineteen is a Bruce or Michael buffer? We got a couple of stats as far as their salaries what they make. I got some feedback. We'll get to it. All next straight talk wireless nationwide.
