I take that back the enemy of the people, a dangerous time to tell the truth in America. That's his book now Jim Kosta. In case you don't know is the CNN reporter who has made it his personal mission to make himself the story in anything he does. He thinks that his job is to save us from Donald Trump. Not to report on the news, not to engage the story. Not to do any type of deep investigative work, but rather to save us. He was on CNN tonight. And he said he wanted to quote right something to the American people. Well, most people blog but okay, you want to write a book. Sure. And it says, you know what folks, we've got to think deeply about this. Do we want to hand off to the next generation of country where it's okay for the president of the United States to refer to journalist or any segment of the American population as the enemy of the people? You should ask us Jim about what we think about handing to our children, a media apparatus that will engage in vengeance as opposed to reporting. A media that is so absolutely spiteful and vitriolic that they openly admit they're not standing true to any journalistic integrity because their job as they see it is to defeat Donald Trump, when he was the candidate and now defeat him as he's president do, we want that from our media for any president to, we want anybody, a future generation to think, for a moment that, that's okay? The answer is no. The answer is absolutely no. What we want from journalists is for them to report on stories. If those stories are not flattering to the subject of the story, that's just the way it does. And I would tell you that anybody who thinks it's wrong report about a story on President Trump. If it's unflattering that person is wrong, I dollars she has no place in America, people were idol worshippers of Barack Obama. I sure as heck won't accept it. If you're an idol worshiper of Donald Trump. The problem is Jim Acosta's an idol worshiper of Jimmy Kosta. He worships himself. He praised to his own alter in all the ways that he doesn't this book is not about you me, and we, it's about him and him believing. Like Jim Comi believes, maybe, there's something in the name that they alone can keep us safe that they alone. No morality and integrity that day alone. Kissed by the Lord above. Can somehow save us from ourselves. We don't know what is good or is right. It is only if he Jim Acosta tells us. That's not true. Of course, it's not true. And the whole idea of the enemy of the people, we know that the president is engaging in a fair amount of hyperbole. The problem is you don't know that you're engaging in non journalism. You see, I think he knows. He's just taking the fight to the people who are attacking him. But jim. I don't think you know, how much damage you do. And based on interviews like this and commentaries like this. You don't care. And you ain't ever gonna learn. We'll teach our kids. Thank you very much. We'll teach the next generation. "Am your ringmaster Dave t Harris. The two pronged conspiracy theory that has dominated our politics for almost three years. Now, the number one that Trump and his family and his campaign conspired to coordinate with Russia to interfere in the twenty sixteen election. The second one that Trump was beholding to Vladimir Putin. It wasn't just rejected today by the final report of special counsel Robert Mueller. Those notions were obliterated in an undeniable definitive manner. Here's the key contrary to all the fake news reports. Mueller. Heated merely issue a narrow cramp legalistic. Finding. That was insufficient. There was insufficient. Evidence to indict, oh, no. He went beyond that. He shut the door. We've had two years of the media misleading. Getting people to believe that that that could spiracy theories conspiracy theories of President Trump's closest aides of family were were involved in some type of collusion. But. What happened today? Is Mueller said that didn't happen. There was no collusion. And there was no we he didn't conspire to break the law. There was no obstruction of Justice. The media. Couldn't handle this. And they still can't handle it throughout the day. They totally melted down our old friend Jim Kosta with back a little here's a couple of examples from CNN Chris Cuomo of how the just could not wrap their head around. This. Also, I you know, I I hope I'm not playing a semantic game here. But bar said that there was no evidence of collusion know, what the conclusion of the report is is that there was no prosecutable case. It was not enough evidence to bring a criminal case insufficient. Evidence to bring a criminal case involving the Trump campaign and Russian interests because there's nothing there that was Jeffrey Toobin. There's nothing there. That's why you can't bring a case because there was no collusion that's different from no evidence. And and I think there is more evidence in the report than than I had certainly known about connections between the Trump campaign and Russia one of the things.

"Well acquainted with this goes back to November eighteenth two thousand eighteen not that long ago. It's about one Jim Kosta during his reelection campaign for congress. Jim Costa d Fresno said he is not supported Nancy Pelosi for speaker in the past. And he wouldn't this time either. So I'm sure this was his evil twin who voted for Nancy Pelosi yesterday. Does. He she care. No does he care. No DNA best care. No. Because we expected it right? Okay. Sure, the president is his brash. He speaks his mind. He can be outrageous. And I'll be the first to stand up and say, the President, Donald Trump can be an absolute. But he happens to be the pompous ass that's done more for this country in the last couple of years, and any other president modern times even CBS has admitted that now along with the Wall Street Journal, fourteen very well known presidential historian whose titles are America's positions at the finest Ivy league universities in the world to acting historians who right probably in grit their teeth same time and said what he has done is remarkable yet. Nobody can get over at the disdain on two fronts. Hillary didn't win and gosh, we couldn't do these things. I this will lead to impeachment all of this. I'm sure the house will impeach him. That does it. It's it's a state that it's a state of doing something impeachment. It doesn't mean he's removed from office. The Senate will not remove him impeachment. Doesn't mean you hit the road and leave your office. It's a process and high crimes and misdemeanors as defined by the constitution after years plural in office. They're not on the table yet. Why? And accordingly. The end of his like Adam Schiff any day now any day. Now. I mean day now any day now any day now, he sort of dropped that mantra is you. "They don't put in the valves when he wanted to. Here's the thing. Here's the thing. Jim Kosta is a third return list and a clown. But I'd rather live in a country when we step back a little bit. We'll step back a little bit from disliking him. Personally. I would rather live in a country in which the occasional knucklehead can give the top man a headache from time to time and country in which that can't happen. So even though I don't think the first amendment or the fifth amendment decrees that Jim Acosta needs to get his press pass back. I do believe it is. Generally, a good thing that the press can annoy the president of the United States. The reason the press is suffering. The the Donald Trump backlash. That it suffering is because they didn't do their job for eight years. That is why if they treated Barack Obama like this, and they had this. They have this delusional sense that they once asked Barack Obama hard questioned with something like what time is it or something, you know, what what chance you most about the presidency. They have this delusional idea that they covered Obama. They didn't cover Obama. They covered up for Obama for eight years that scandal-free administration that included scandal after scandal the IRS scandal the fast and furious scandal one scandal after another the scandal of the Iran deal the scandal of dumping cash into the pockets of the Iranians for nothing for no reasons because they're going to get their nuclear weapon. Anyway, all of those scandals were left uncovered they covered him up instead. And that's what they're paying for now. And that's why Donald Trump gets away with the stuff he does because otherwise even I would attack them. I don't wanna see the president of the United States throwing reporters out even a bad reporter even. Bad reporter like Jim Acosta, who's just grandstand. Or throwing his opinion at the president. I want those guys they are the problem is you cannot show up after eight years and put on your reporter pants again and say, suddenly, we're reporters. So this is the problem that I have with this idea that we stand in solidarity. There was an exchange. Chris Wallace had Trump on. And I thought Trump said a couple of things that I would question but not on this subject, but but they had an exchange Chris Wallace and Trump had this back and forth exchange in which Wallace kind of did this whole thing that the press stands in solidarity. Let's let's play this clip. This is number seven. I'm saying fake news false reporting dishonest reporting of which there is a lot. And I know see I know it because I'm a subject of a lot of people don't know. But when I explain it to them, they understand, and because you know, that better you don't have to sit here and act like a perfectly wonderful innocent angel. I know you too. Well, I knew you father to well. That's not your, gene. But let me. Tell you look I and some of the coverage of user, and I've set it on the record is biased. But I don't think that they are despised. But I, but the idea that you call us the enemy of the people calling you that I'm talking I'm not altogether. I don't understand it. We're all together. No, no. I'm not calling you. I. All and the New York Times calling. We're in solidarity. Curling fake news fake reporting is what's tearing this country apart because people know people like things that are happening. And then not hearing about it. Now. Trump is absolutely right about this. He's right twice immense fake reporting. When you have ninety four to between ninety four ninety six percent of the coverage of Trump has been negative when the economy so good when ISIS has gone on the judges a good when the regulations cut back and businesses thriving all of that that that's covered ninety six percent negative. He is absolutely right. And the problem is that the problem with Wallace's point of view is that it is. It is the opposite problem we have with Democrats that we want clowns like Jim Acosta to be able to annoy the president I want that to happen. My gripe is that it didn't happen for eight years. That's my real gripe. Not the way they treat Trump. It's the way they treated Obama and the way they treated Trump, but but the solidarity of. Press is masking a genuine genuine dysfunction in the press..

"Because the president did the thing where he began answering before Carl was done next up was a reporter who I couldn't identify. I this reporter asks about Oprah any. I it seemed like a joking question the president chided him for being a comedian. But then gave a pretty long answer. And then the reporter asked a totally different question or actually a series of questions and colloquy with the president. The the real question is you just set up here and said that from this podium that. It's are you offering in my way or highway scenario to the Democrats you're saying that shifts if they start investigating you that you can play that game investigate better than them. Can you can memorize? I know more than they know can you cut in part mental is that and still continue to work with them for the benefit of the rest of the country, or are you or all bets off? No if they do that. Then it just all it is a world like posture. And so then the women than the follow up January. Well, since it's Shimon, let it go since it's Jim that Jim is Jim Acosta as I have just documented Jim Kosta was preceded by four different reporters asking somewhere between fifteen and eighteen questions. So that's around four questions per reporter. I'm not against that. I'm for that possibly Jim cost thought. Okay. This is how the press conference is going to go. But we all know what happened with Jim Acosta. He asked the president about the caravan. The president rejected the premise the president mocked the Kosta. I think you should let me run the country you run she an or if you did it. Well, you're reading. So maybe it was that he thought a cost of was rude. Maybe it was that a cost of stepped on the Trump Zinger about CNN ratings likely. It was a case that the fix was in and Trump was just looking to tangle with Jim Acosta. But then Trump cuts him off. Are you worried enough? That's that's the other folks that's enough for me, ma'am. That's enough. As president. I had one guy may ask on on the Russian vestige. Are you concerned that that you may have heard about anything with you? Investigation because it's a hoax. That's enough put down the mic, and we know now that the president wants a cost to put that might down permanently. After a cost is questioned by the way, the president engaged in several exchanges with other reporters who asked three or four questions ranging from one reporter asked have you talked to Putin to will you fire. Kelly one reporter asked about Trump's moral leadership and just as with a cost to the president did not at all engage with that. He started talking about China and trade, and so the reporter persisted, you're talking about the how do you see your role as a mural leader? Mr President just how do you say immoral to so many people Moral though? though, I think I am a great moral leader. And I love our country that reporter was not punished. Good. None of these reporters should have been punished. We get the idea of the rules of the press conference. Everyone played by the rules. Jim Acosta was punished for them. Trump wants to make this a referendum on the impropriety of Jim Acosta. No one's buying that. It is such a bad faith and poorly executed effort to discredit this one. Reporter that you have to wonder if what the White House is doing is anything other than a distraction technique, of course, by thinking in such a way is taking plane evidence that the administration is wrong, cruel and incompetent and turning it into a higher minded scheme. Stratagem if you will. So are they bullies? Are they incompetent bullies? Or are they sneakily strategic incompetent seeming bullies at the risk of asking a question and also. Oh, a follow up who knows? And who cares?.

"And and hit the requirements of the law for getting an injunction. There is a possibility of damages claims under what's called a bins action for civil rights violations. We have not added that claim. Now, we wanna get Jim Costa's press credentials back getting back doing his job. But that's something. We could always think about down the road. If you sue them individually for damages they have to go out and hire their own attorneys, then they then they have to get their individual attorneys, and and in litigate like a litigating civil lawsuit where damages are at stake. And when you say damages that means. Financial down exactly financial damages. And here we want to stand up for the first amendment principle. We want to get Jim Acosta back doing his job. We want to stand up for that first amendment principle that there needs to be fairness that's down the road right now, we just want to get those press credentials back. And we're glad the judge has given us a fast hearing tomorrow White House should immediately do the right thing and give those press credentials back to Jim Kosta and move on let the let the business continue you guys could drop your lawsuit. Right. They could they could solve this very quickly. And and they really should do it. It's the bigger principle here. Let's hear from everybody presidents a tough guy. He can he can argue back. And he does it all the time. That's all this is about. That's what the first amendment is about. Let's it's it can be rough and tumble. That's what we want. And and that's what means the first amendment means C N N is proud to have Jim Acosta as our chief White House correspondent, he's very strong appraise a tough guy himself and CNN stands fully behind him. We need to get him back in there too. Good luck. Thanks so much for joining us coming. A stunning unprecedented. Move by the first lady of the United States demanding the firing in public of the White House deputy national security adviser. What's behind Melania Trump? Very angry rebuke is it personal that President Trump meets with lawyers tonight to go over written questions from the special counsel. Robert muller. Focus again, a possible collusion with Russia..

"The you just take back and redo well, there would be certain things. I'm not sure I want to reveal all of but I would say tone. I would like to have a much softer tone. I feel to a certain extent, I have no choice. But maybe I do, and maybe I could have been softer from that standpoint. But okay. So there was and you know, of course, he goes onto a quick eight in and say, but but basically tone tone. Let's check in now it's the end of the week. We are now four days later and this morning. How's that project on tone going President Trump? I think Jim Kosta say, very unprofessional, man. I think he does this with everybody gets paid to do that. You know, he gets paid the person he's very unprofessional guy. Whether it was me or Ronald Reagan or anybody else, he would've done the same thing. I don't think he's a smart person. But he's got a loud voice. And here's why. As far as I'm concerned. I haven't made that decision, but it could be others. Also when you're in the White House. This is a very sick place today, a very special place, you have to treat the White House with respect you have to treat the presidency with respect to review if you've ever seen him dealing with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, it's a disgrace. And he does it for you know, the reason the same thing with April Ryan mentioned, let me get. Person of color include doesn't know what the hell she's doing. She gets foot bliss ity, and then she gets to pay razors. He gets a contract with I think CNN, very nasty, and she shouldn't be shouldn't be you've got a tree the White House and the office of the presidency with respect. A little thing called. Yes. E but wait a second. But let's not let's maybe there could be other occasions. Maybe we just caught him at a bad moment and that tone projects going better. The rush pro. Up to him. Robert koehler. What a stupid question that is what a stupid question, but I watched you a lot you ask a lot of stupid. Such a bitch. Donald Trump is Watch option. and messy bitch who loves dry. You know, he also is starting to like slide into very close to where my Jewish grandmother was when she was besieged with elements. I don't like you lack that one. I don't. Didn't you didn't do subtext before house this? I hate you. You a black woman. I am a grotesque. He's a little bit uptight. He seems to be a little bit up tight, but having a rage Gazza. Mm-hmm. So I would say. I don't know. I can you really great this guy on efforts. Can you does he have like enough even aware self awareness? Two great him on effort. I think just I would have to give him a really not a passing grade off tone project. Yeah. Not even on his game for being like funny and being a dick. He's clearly having loving Zaidi, and it's making him tents and his performance. It's hard to build new habits. Okay. Well, we'll talk about I want to talk about this with with Ben Dixon about the implications of of if Ben Nelson ends up taking the Senate and Kristen cinema dens taking the Senate. It's it's going to create some interesting dynamics that are very different than if it's then if either one of them loses, but we'll discuss that in a moment before we get there, folks. You know, because I've told you, and you.

"The White House Correspondents Association has accused the Trump administration of using security credentials as a tool to punish a reporter toward Gilman is the Washington bureau chief for the Dallas Morning News. And he's on the association's board. He spoke to my colleague, Alexandra Fisher, it's appalling. And it is disconcerting that the president. And really that anyone working with the president and think that it is okay to use access to lighthouse in punitive way. There's obviously been friction were probably the entire Trump administration the tween CNN, and particularly this correspondent, Jim Kosta and the president. But that's the nature of the press holiday six relationships. You know, we're not buddies. We are sometimes adversary will and sometimes near tough questions and uncomfortable questions and this. President President Trump doesn't like to be challenged. And you know, there are those people who think that CNN and in particular, Jim Macron's Knox as occasionally gone too far. In terms of decorum. But in terms of asking the questions that need to be asked and being persistent about that that's his job. And it is not okay. To those of us in certainly in journalism. And I think to most Americans who believe very strongly and free press in the first amendment to our constition, the to have this kind of punitive action taken against a recourse on if this an attack on press freedom, it is it is certainly not okay to have president and his administration blocking access to a television at work, really any journalist. Who's just ask me questions? And adversary press is part of our American democratic system, and we need proximity to politicians and government officials in order to uphold the the central function of providing check on our our. Our our system of government democratic systems of government ally on a free press and free press doesn't just mean that we like what we want and say what we want. It means it really hinges on us having the ability to ask questions, and I'm sorry. If the president doesn't like our questions, sometimes doesn't even like the tone of our questions sometimes, but he is not a king. And we don't answer to him where citizens, and we're part of an predict system and that should be respected. Yes. It is. Absolutely. An effort to undermine freedom of the press. And do you think they'll be ramifications for journalists? Well, it it certainly is a shot across the bow. I mean, this one particular journalist has been particular irritants to the president and to some of his senior staff, there's an old saying, I don't know if it was Stalin that sometimes you you shoot the pig to make the cows scared. And you know, maybe this. Is way of a of trying to silence other journalists and keep everybody else in line and and deter what they perceive to be overly aggressive questioning of the president. But really all they're doing is stirring up a whole lot of mistrust. And we're just trying to do our jobs. All we want to do is have a fair shot asking questions getting answers. And if you didn't want to answer the questions, you know, I've I've covered city hall. I've covered state government federal government and politicians at all levels. There's nothing that says they have to answer questions, but we get to ask them and when the White House and the federal government uses the secret service clearance process to block, the ability of a major television network. This is not some fringe crazy person. This is not someone who is waving anything other than legitimate journalistic questions at the president. That's a problem. And just finally Todd. Will there be any action taken by the associated person? Well, all we can do we have the thirty two razor voices and expose and raise questions and amplify concerns of our members. And that's all we can do. I mean, it is ultimately up to the president and his staff and the secret service to determine who has access to the White House complex. But there is a very very deep and long tradition in the United States of allowing reporters access unfettered within certain confines of but we don't get to roam around. But you know, it wasn't even until a few decades ago that you had to have particular pass people used to be able to walk in and out of the White House complex, and then obviously security everywhere got a little more tight, but to us security as a pretext for blocking access. I mean, this is not a security threat. This is an effort almost to employ the secret services of Pretoria and guard around the president and to use security clearance to protect the president from questions of one particular network and correspondent it's an egregious. Violation of the norms of how our system works with a with a free press, the Washington bureau chief for the Dallas Morning News told Gilman.

"Well, now for something totally different. Just when you thought the White House's relationship with media could not get any wireless yesterday's press conference happens one of the many explosive moments. Was this confrontation with C N N's, Jim Kosta, take a look challenge you on one of those statements that you made in the tail of the campaign in terms. Here we go that. Well, I if that this caravan wasn't invasion as United consider to be the as I think, you should let me run the country, you run CNN or if you did it. Well, you're ratings. Lemme ask you if I may miss president. Are you worried enough? That's enough. That's one of the other folks that's enough for me. Ma'am, miss. That's enough. This president. Are you worried about indictments coming down in this? Mr. Tell you what she n n should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude. Terrible person. You shouldn't be working for CNN. So Kosta wind up getting his press pass suspended because the White House says he inappropriately touched that young woman with the Mike now when you look at the clip is that inappropriate touching. His seems like he's just pulling the Mike. I'm sorry. I think that the country the country should be ashamed watching that yesterday. But my question is in terms of this. Pens on what lens you're seeing it through when we're living in such a polarized world. So if you are on team Trump, then he's your hero yesterday. And if you're on if you're if you hate Trump, then cost was your hero. That is the world. The ran is so polarized today. So, but when we know when someone is accused of salt, that's that's a very loaded were, and that's what's so bad. What did that look like a salt is note that did not look like I I personally think the combination yesterday the combination in general with the president of the press is lethal because you've got a president that does not live. In fact, base world a lot of time and his tone was so aggressive, but you also have people in the press corps that are constantly aching to make the headlines and to get those sound bites growing up, I never knew the names of the White House correspondents because they're not supposed to be the story. They're supposed to give information American people. So watching yesterday, I was frustrated I thought from both ends, and I was I was just I was mad. It's embarrassing can I speak. So I was reading a Peter Baker in the New York Times, I agree with this position that that Trump set this up himself that he did not have to call on Jim Acosta and the other thing about so he wanted the attention to distract from the fact that the caravan suddenly disappeared from the rhetoric after the election, the fact that he lost the house of representatives that. A lot of people who lost on hit because of him and a lot of people who want because of him on the other side. And it seems to me also how come he has never had a press conference? This is the first time he's up there for an hour and a half why because of the election. That's why distract McGee cost of the story. And you don't have to talk about global warming. The rich people and that is a great head. Yeah. That's one of the points. I was going to make to right one thing. I want to say when we're talking about assault. I was one of the women who signed the petition against ROY Lewandowski for my friend, Michelle fields when he assaulted her at trying to ask questions a Trump rally. So are Trump event it was it was a background vent. There's clips of it. If you want to see it. So I was one of the conservative women calling against this very early on in the primaries. I don't like it when men touch me in general without asking permission. If I were handing that and some man went like, this would not like it is a salt. No, I also be that. I don't think it goes the level of a salt is inappropriate for journalists to be doing that to White House aide one hundred percent, he really just because Mike the way I thought he pushed her arm away. Again, I die the lighter edited videos now getting it downs blocking her he's not he's not actually doing his block. I'm I'm also very sensitive to people touching me as you know..
