And she was the the movie star. I want it to be and that's how that image came into my head. Just oh she was just extraordinarily beautiful. She was a star and she was a star at my favorite favorite Studio mgm which had all the great musicals there were other studios that had musicals but none of them ever matched the power and the energy of mgm musicals because they also had and miller and they had jim kelly for pete's sake and he's gonna come up there again in a minute but i guess for you was the ultimate always the movies. Because it's pretty big broadway a pretty big deal and you were on broadway at thirteen. I think before. Well before the movie. I was thirteen. Yeah i made my debut. I guess really all through the rest of your teens. In hindsight must have felt like a whole rollercoaster because as you talk about in the documentary. There's the thrill of actually having your ambition realized getting to not only join a movie studio but the movie studio that you've just been taught my dreams. Yes but then also at nineteen. That was over. That's when they dropped your contract and a lot of people might have been devastated by that and that might have been. The end of the story was devastated. Dropped my contract is they didn't know what to do with me. And they dropped the options. My contract and i was an absolute shock. Because i honestly believed because i was also very naive. Young girl I was always young for my years with respect to sophistication I thought i was going to be there forever. And then it'll be mayor was going to be kind of surrogate daddy and What i was told that my contract was not being picked up..

Because it's it's just there's something really interesting to me about where we are with this football team as we get set for minnesota on sunday afternoon but i i this was good and i wanted to play a part of it with you. Because you know let's face it. The bearcat season opens. And everybody's talking about the big twelve which most seemed to think is not only going to happen but that there's going to be some movement this week regarding uc and ucf and byu and houston ultimately moving to the big twelve. And so we had some some time in the post game show which i host. But let's let's be honest. The stars of that are dan. Hoard and jim kelly and fickle but i was not enough to murray state game and i said look. We'll talk about that but before we do that. I have a feeling by the time. The ball goes in the air on saturday. Nipper stadium that will have something a little more concrete when it comes to a. Uc's conference affiliation. Here's dan and jim. I think you're right. I think that news is going to become official sometime in the next week that cincinnati. Byu ucf and houston are going to be future members of the big twelve now. how soon. We'll cincinnati play in that league probably not for a couple of years this year and next remaining in the american maybe in the big twelve after that. But think about that when that happens if that happens. How do home basketball games against kansas west virginia and the reigning national champion baylor sound. How do football games against west. Virginia oklahoma state. Tcu sound the big twelve. Was the number one rated conference in college basketball last year. Football seems to be driving these things but to be able to play football in that league to have that basketball conference for bearcat basketball and to make an estimated somewhere between twenty and twenty five million dollars per year from tv instead of seven going forward pumping additional thirteen minimum of thirteen million dollars. "Not that he was horrible at it. particularly the beginning of last year. He missed a good number of open. Receivers and what the bearcats have been able to do. Also in wide receivers side of things and that wide receiver room. They've been able to get some guys with speed out there Not that they lack speed last year but they've been able to increase that so they got i. If you look at the three guys across the frontline we'll be the starters tomorrow Which are michael young Alex pearce and tyler scott all three of those guys can really they can get down the field quickly and that makes it very very tough when you You trying to focus on one guy who might be the deep for. Let's say that's alec peers. Because he averaged more yards per catch last year is not necessarily all spayed. He's just an athlete and he can go up and get the ball and he's six three to begin with but you wanna focus on him and double team him or lean your safety over towards him. That leaves tyler. Scott wide open mic young wide open. Then you get guys like gordon joe jordan jones rather jaden thompson and trae tucker who trae tucker i'll give you might be the fastest guy on the team as well. Those are the backups so If that date falls clicking and i watched as a lot and in summer practice and boy he's been hitting them right and left so if he's able to do that game that's really gonna put a lot of pressure on all the opponents this year. If if that deep games going well i was. I was reading our buddy justin williams in the athletic and he asked a question that i think is a good one as you talk about guys on this team especially on offense that could have breakout seasons one of the first thing that jumps to the top of my mind is jerome ford and yet i mean. He scored eight touchdowns last year. You had the big run against georgia. He had a huge positive impact on this team in a more featured role. I think that dude could just have a monster. Two thousand twenty one. I would agree with you all the way and it's a little different. If you remember back the last few years at the running back spot there was always kind of tandem back there your number three and your number four guys always got some carries too but it was kinda split you know who got the most carries last year being dokes and forward Prior to that dokes in warren back..

"It's it's good to have you sir. How are you. I'm good how are you doing. I am i am well. I'm looking at this game tomorrow. I'm looking at their first two opponents. And i'm sure we could apply this to a lot of teams on the schedule. Yes marcus freeman has gone mike. Trestle is being handed the keys to a for. I don't know how. I don't know how teams score on these guys. Do you know it's First of all even if you if your entire coaching staffs back i games are always difficult. Because you know you've got new bodies in their new people new schemes things of that nature and not to mention. You've got an opponent that you don't know a lot about particularly in this case. The miami red hawks who only played three games last year. So there's not a lot to fall back on and really kinda you know. Look back at what they were able to do. What type of stuff. They ran their only only play into three games. Makes it a little bit more difficult scandal. Marcus freeman did a great job. His defense but he was not known as a guy who was going to do a lot of exotic stuff. It was basically. We're gonna play sound. Fundamental ball will adjust what we're gonna do based on our opponents. We all remember the the scheme that he devised for that game against navy a couple of years ago. If i give you this personnel. And you're gonna put your fingerprints on it. Are there things that you do. That might be little bit more exotic than we saw. When marcus was was running the show absolutely and i think that's exactly what we're going to see The fact of the matter is that they are solid and just about every position on the defense with with depth as well. Which means that you number one. You've got good personnel. Secondly you've got guys who can fill in and and give guys a little bit of time you know out of the game for a little bit. It allows you to do some things. I think what you're going to see particularly tomorrow. Miami plays a very very big but very young offensive line One junior to sophomores in two freshman across the board on the o. Line so i. I think what you're going to see is a lot of blitz packages and some things to try to to really disrupt what they wanna do offensively knowing that on the back end of the defense you've got cornerbacks and i don't just mean to corners. Not just your starters you can go four or five date and maybe even six if you count your You know your nickel corners. Who are in there quite a bit as well not to mention to very good safety so it allows you to take some chances and really you know. Give up and put those guys on islands out there. One on one knowing that Early feeling that you know you're going to be able to To rely on guys like kobe bryant. And i'm not gardner out there on the corners to be able to take care of themselves..

I said i was at the very first game ever played in rich stadium and it was wonderful and i have been a fan. I played high school football. So i mean football's kate. There's no doubt about it. Football is king. Yes yes so. That's the deal. I just want super bowl. You know. I mean yeah watching four four in a row go down. I was just so hard in the fourth one. Were you like. Yeah you knew right away but it. It was the first one that killed me the most because it was on my birthday. Yeah yeah yeah you birthday. Everybody in the city thought they were going to win. Yeah did you watch the thirty for thirty. Th they produce. Espn is the one with Super bowl yeah. Yeah was that. Was that hard to relive it. Although i mean also it's one of those things maybe obviously didn't super bowl but enough years of passwords taoism incredible run. You know there are more buffalo bills from that four super bowl run in the hall of fame than any other team that never won a super bowl. Yeah yeah okay. And and i am. I couldn't be more proud of that team. I i love jim. Kelly and all those people saw them play live hundreds of times. Just you know. I went to games all the time back. That's gonna be hidden a website very soon just overall for you as you look at this this kind of macro look at the cubs farm system. What are your main takeaways. As you were putting together this list. I think my principal takeaway is that. There's a lot of talent that is kind of coerced around the same timeline. Where all very young and below kinda double aa. We all know about brennan davis miguel and some of these other guys killing the acquired in the chris. Brian trade rain pitcher from the giants. Who's gonna shoot up on lists but a lot of talent that is all lined up a really young over projectable. You're gonna see a lot of body changes. I think over the next year or two. And i think the takeaway is that prospects in the system are going to be something that i think anyone is going to have to keep their i on 'cause there's going to be so much new information coming in as we instruction guys get back from injury potentially some arizona foley guys might hit out there hopefully a brother marquez or something if he can heal up and see him live and i. It's just something that is going to be very relevant. I think to the cubs features to keep tabs on these lists than even as you go site to site like. We're going to have a list. I think it's gonna be very different than other sites and the reality is like. "This is exciting stuff here. We got four topics for you. So the xfl. They're shooting for a comeback in twenty twenty three. They're trying to partner with the cfl inter out. Will they succeed on their third. Try leeann what do you got. I'm out man. I mean the xfl was fine. It was a novelty to win. I personally enjoy watching the first four weeks that season. It was very interesting. It was cool experiment. Nobody else cares. The first week had averaged three million viewers over the course of power many games. They played by week five just over a month later the last game before the pandemic shut everything down. They didn't even he'd passed million viewers idea the quality. Football was surprisingly good. It was again. I liked the ball so i will watch it but i mean between the fact that people already know what the deal is. Years of the novelty has worn off. There also has been an undeniable hit on sports viewership in sports ratings as a whole as a result at that in this is a couple years off. Maybe they steady out by them. But i mean even the nba is trying to figure out of balance out there. Viewership numbers after went down the absolute tubes during the worst of the pandemic. So i don't. I don't see the succeeding. I see it being fun for a little bit. The thing with the nfl's already if he is. I don't want it to be successful. I don't think that there's enough novelty aspects to it for people to be interested in on a weekly basis. I mean for for the record. I'm out. I'm burnt out of football by that time i'm ready for. Let me get to the juice of the nba. Let me get geared up for baseball but as wanna throw in there as a kid when the us was kicking the chicago blitz. they were sweet. I was fully in. I loved blitz herschel. Walker was playing in the us. If you had. Jim kelly in the the the the usfl had something going on i i don't know beckett ever be duplicated yet the xfl's like it. Jim kelly. he's the one who put together the the original team and he's very picky with with who he puts he brings on so and it's a good thing because it's enabled us to grow and have this growth and have such an amazing culture within the company as well hiring. The right people can be a challenge. And it's really finding the right fit because when you're growing from a couple of people in two thousand and nineteen. Is that what what it was like fast forward. Sixteen eighteen months in sixty plus. It's hard to keep a cohesive group together when you're growing like that that's crazy. Yeah you re seven point like we. We have obviously had had our growing pains. He's got a lot of lessons that we've learned because to be this meat to me. This is new growing growing this fast and In its due to a lot of others as well so we've been still this culture feeling forward which is really great because it enables people to make mistakes but learn from their mistakes and kind of fail forward and grow and learn and things like thought so. Or a big flower spread or something like that. I got her. I got her flowers or whatever. I got a nice bouquet of flowers for But now I have to worry about the social media posts because an instagram my wife post a picture. That says, you know nice things about me and how much I mean to ruin everything. Now I have to live up to that. So now I have to find a picture of us and maybe my daughters that would get her approval because she doesn't like a lot of pictures and my post pictures that without her approval, she gets mad at me. So I have to find a picture. Get a rule approve it. And then I have to put a heartfelt caption on the picture before I Graham it out. So it's a lot to deal with. It's a lot to deal with that. Rather just pay for a dinner, Connor and then just be over with it, John. That's why I'm single. I see the athleticism right. But when I watch the games, and I know will you dad, I'm gay, So he doesn't everybody around them. He doesn't elevate anybody and he doesn't even show me flashes outside of an occasional player to think he's going to be anything. I think the Jets see that I am going to say I'd be shocked if he was back next year, because I guess it really matters on what happens.
