"When guys file for free agency to try to work something out and No, I thought was really interesting with four, Hun said recently in a week or two ago on a podcast with Jim Kalla Kami where he said Look, when I was with the Dodgers, I noticed that the value of continuity of being able to re sign a camera Jansen or a Justin Turner, which they couldn't really do when he was with the AIDS, so I think they're definitely are going to look to extend some of the people who they brought in on short term contracts, and they've shown that thinking the really valuable pieces over, you know, consistent like the time. Act as always, we appreciate the hang my man the info in the insight top notch per usual be. Well, we'll talk to you next week. Okay. Take care of those. Thanks. Thanks, Andrew Beggarly. Our no. Which jumps off here at 5 45. Now just look at God's means only 30. And he was supposed to be this guy a few years ago. Just never never materialized Form and I just The way he's pitching. Now he looks like an ace, and it looks like something that could be the head of a rotation. A guy that you'd want to start. Game one for you. If your team we're in the playoffs, so he's the guy. That I just I can't imagine. That they would one. They're not going to trade the damn guy. He's the best pitcher on the team. That's it. He had second best record baseball he talking about, but if they continue playing this way, or a reasonable facsimile, making the playoffs, that sort of thing. I just can't imagine you. No one wants this guy leading your rotation into the future. Like if he was 34 35 I get it, But he's 30. So I don't know what kind of money he's gonna be commanding, but they're gonna have some tea. Oh, Spend this offseason so he would seem to be a good place to start. He's on their list of if you're not gonna pay him. Who you gonna back? Yeah. Exactly. "Their long term care Prince. I haven't seen an insurance company yet. That hasn't raised the rates on those so It's individual, its unique into you, you know, sometimes do you want one Do you need when we don't know until you somebody comes in and sits down and we find out more about you and what it is you're trying to accomplish, And I think it's you know, Joe and I were just discussing we have pretty much on a weekly basis. Like Hey, how are we designing these plans for people, but it really depends. Yeah, absolutely. And it's it's another. Great point for working with an independent advisor as well, because you're able to really go out there. Survey all the different options on the landscape and figure out not only what's gonna be best for the person you're trying to help. But what resonates most of them as well. Right? Well, Joe, you touched on it briefly. But in your experience why are we so terrified? Or wire annuities? Almost so infuriating like we're almost we find them overwhelming it time. Why do you see that? Yes, sure. Annuity is a four letter word to a lot of people, and some of that is misrepresentation. Some of that is because there's some. There's some nasty stuff in that space. You know, these things called variable annuities. We say to a lot of people that sometimes maybe 70 to 80% of the options out. There might not make a lot of sense for you and these are usually the ones that people speak up a lot more from bad experiences. Sometimes the good experiences you find, so I think when you go out there and Google annuity stuff like that, a lot of the top things that pop up are going to be referring to the neck. Motives high fees with variable annuities, and it just keeps people from truly understanding what the real options are out there for them. So if you're working with someone who's knowledgeable in that space, and who takes the time to educate you on it and not pushy, but wants you to understand your options For a lot of people, you can find something that provides a lot of value there. So if you have a question about your new Dru making the right decisions, or if you have a question about something here on today's show, 919852 1215 again. 9198521215 where you can always find us online. Shoot us an email it anytime. Rollie. What solutions dot com and Joe while we got you here, I do want to talk a little bit about inflation because the motley fool says it over a 20 year retirement. A 1% inflation rate could cost Social Security recipients $34,000 and lost buying power Now if the inflation rate goes to 3% That could be more than $117,000. So we can't control inflation. But what are some of the things that we can control going into retirement? Well, one of the things Jo Jo was just talking about it with the fixed income rate environment where it is right now. That's why we talk about sometimes using annuity is a bond alternative so we can offset something like this inflation and do it. In a conservative basis. We can utilize dividend paying stocks, you know that are paying 234% and dividends and they're getting appreciation power. Those are big things and, Ah, lot of that information that comes out is from Wall Street, and I mean a lot of people get these reports from Ken Fisher. He's a great market and does a lot of great things. But He has a lot of negative things to say about annuities in 90% of it has to do with variable annuities. But also they don't do annuities. And that's what you and I see you. We see all these guys who the people that bad mouth them are the ones that don't have access to him. Absolutely, You know, you've seen advisers out there who explain these and the incorrect way. Potentially. I think the fact there's a lot of them just don't understand what is available in that space, and sometimes it's the training over there. Those kind of retail based arm or institutional firms where there's sort of bread say no annuity, anti annuity don't even consider it. And I think they have a blind spot for the people that they serve because of that, right? So, Brian, let's do some quick math through quick. How long have you been doing this? 25 26 years, Okay? How long have you been doing this? They're part of a decade about 8.5 years. Yeah, fears. Okay, So if my math is correct, that's a good 75 years of service between the two of you. Wait a minute. "Right. Let me recap the bet that Seton and make love in half I mean, if you're looking for a reason to watch the NFL draft, we are going to give you another reason to watch the NFL draft and this is where Justin Fields will be selected McLovin. The over under is pick 8.5. Right? So if he goes a thin Seton gets one pie, and if he goes nine, then I get one pie. And if he goes 15, I'll get six pies. Yeah, okay. Yesterday. And if the bucket is taken with the end of the first one had no B 24 pies from the glove in Chris Simms had him in the mock draft and going 30 to my thinking is Transpires. You explain this time that people aren't you know they might be just joining us. It's very true. Thank you. Is it 10 pies just the same as one pie. What? You get a pie on your face? It's all the same. That's why I'm not worried about the downside. But 24 pies is a bit dog. I think if it's over 10 pies that might just stretch it out to two days. But cheating doesn't have the same stakes because it's eight picks. You can't go over 10 pies. And that's why it's a fun bad. Yeah. I mean, you made the bed kind of the way it works when you make these bets, Andrew, didn't you say Hey, I'll take 25 pies. Yeah, I'm fine. I'm fine Spread over two days. Maybe we change it to like, If it's 24 pies. Maybe we change it to cupcakes or something. That's more of a snowball thing. Could be water balloons that we get to throw atyou interesting which up against the wall? If he falls to the second round, for example, then he must have secretly murdered somebody at some point because I was just made think they must know something completely strange, right eye like that's probably stretch there. He has, like 70 touchdowns and four picks in college. No way he's falling to 30. Now something happens to Jimmy Garoppolo. Before Sunday. Why look at Kyle Shanahan is the suspect here. He's the one who said We don't know. We don't know we're gonna be alive by Sunday. He's gonna be on the roster. Like CN accessory. Uh, that gives new meaning to dead salary cap Well, Yes, boy. What was the biggest fall of a quarterback like in the draft where they expected to be picked? Will Rogers Rogers on one, right when? At the end of the first round? Mary Gino Smith Smith. He was rumored to go pretty high for a little while. And the top part of Gina Smith is he was in the building in the first round ended. See a day too, But when he left, he left, he went across the street where he was staying. And when he realized he wasn't gonna be taken, and like, Hey, I'm out of here. I'm not sticking around and Rogers had to sit there and just wait. And wait. And wait. Yes, we club? Yeah. Just thinking of group famous Green room followers. I feel like Brady Quinn might have been in the green One was pretty tough, too. Yeah, pretty tough. And then you know it's one thing to be in there if it's just your girlfriend. Because that's there for posterity If she doesn't end up being your wife, But you're there with your girlfriend. Your wife has to see that every time there you are with Sally. You know Paul Rodgers onto a second girlfriend. By the time he was picked, broken up with her and found a new girl in New York. Baker Mayfield Junior. The third is doubling down on UFO's In the off season. He's talked about everything that he's doing, Uh, you know, he's been working out he is getting in a guaranteed $18 million salary. And a close encounter. That he won't forget, he said. He saw a UFO and nothing has changed his mind, he says. I'm a firm believer in UFO's and Sask watch, he said this on Monday and zoom call with reporters. It's real. I saw it. I'm glad the Navy finally confirmed some more pictures. Now everybody doesn't think I'm as crazy. I believe Okay? Uh, You know the SAS Squatch? I have a little bit of a problem with it's like the Loch Ness Monster having been toe lock nous and you realized just the lake itself, the depth of the lake and how dark the water is. That you could create a mist. I mean, they created a tourist attraction. Do. I think Nessie is alive there? I do not. I don't think Sasquatch is alive, but I do think they're UFO's. I get that. Um And he says that there's no problem. Leaving in your foes the definition of Sasquatch. They said, AK Bigfoot ah, large, hairy, ape like creature resembling a yeti supposedly found in Northwestern America. Mm hmm. Okay. Does anybody believe in Sasquatch? This time. I'm not getting to believe in him. I don't believe you have phone anybody believe in Loch Ness Monster. And and and there's only one like the picture. Is always so grainy, like whatever camera was being used with Sasquatch. The resolution's horrible and they must have used the same camera with Loch Ness Monster because nobody has any vibrant pictures of sass Squatch. Loch Ness monster, But I have been to likeness and I could see where you could feel like there could be something lurking, you know, down in the depths there of the lake Campo. But you oppose. They're always spotted over like Pahrump, Nevada. Never. Chicago. It's never like. Hey, look, 33 Million people in Chicago saw, you know, Ufl. It's always why little town in Arizona. Goodyear? Yeah. It's It's Tom and Debbie. You're driving around, you know, looking at the stars, and they see a UFO. It's never a group of people large group of with great cameras and quality. A lot of mega pixels. "We'll see where if someone else pays him Offers him 5 to 7 million a year. And maybe that's the Jets like Daniel, you know, and I were Solon and that whole thing going on? I think that there is is a real shot. That they know the dollar number is just a little bit too high for Colliers check, And I understand people would would not love that. I understand college coach Shanahan with wells out, but that take I made the hard choice that sometimes you have to make and it's like, Don't Go crazy with the whole back. I would agree. Tim couple Khamis Eunice, of course, runs the athletic for the barrier does a great job of that something you do This just hit on is the thing that scares me. I think there's one positive and one negative going into this weird thing, by the way, the capital said at 1 82.5 today, up from what Eddie, so they didn't get a lot of room in that didn't help any of the teams. It's solid, you said, is going to run similar offensive in defense of systems. So anybody came on. Williams grew up in New Jersey at the he could go. I think you'd look at Beretta. I think you'd look at D. J. Jones. I think you'd look at Haider. I think you could still Jews. That's one thing and they've got the second most cap space in all of the NFL. Then, on the positive side, the thing is gonna be interesting is already seeing this. With so many teams over the cap, Just like in baseball. You could see a lot of guys sun in one year deals and then when the cap expands next year Then those guys gonna be on the open market again, and I would imagine, especially offensively Kyle Shannon is attractive isn't attractive place to go. So I wonder if the 40 Niners could get some of those cheap deals done. You're probably right. I mean, there's gonna be some of them on again That way can all imagine the caps gonna explode in two years. Those TV deals are coming in, and there's never gonna happy a difference when a season without any fans. Going into the next season with sayings plus the new TV deal and we're talking. We're hearing about double the TV deals so there could be if they get to 20. You know, $220 million cap, you know, basically, Ah, $40 million difference next season. That's a big, big difference. So yeah, again. Some of this is just going to be in terms of whether to York don't want to guarantee this money was they want to spread it in the next season like you're going to say we know the caps going to explode in two seasons. Let's Back in some of this money, and you know again, That's how you get a Trent Williams, maybe at a lower number this season and have that number go. That's how you figure out is that you could do this with the cap. But yeah, knowing that number knowing that number is going to Really go much much. It's somewhere to guess what lawyers and 2016 when the calf exploded because there was a problem. Guess what happened? They had enough room is I am Kevin Durant. Now, I don't know that's gonna happen with foreigners. They have so many other things. They got the Fred Water extension that's coming up. We'll have a both extension After next season. There's going to be yet good young players you have to say, and that's just the way that works. But Yes, there are going to be Opportunities here for one year deals two year deal that her back loaded That Things would cash in the $4 or one of top five teams in it all and revenues. Unquestionably they are Way up there, Relist. They have the cash coming and just asked people Leeds United how much money before and herself. They're going to have the ability to this again. We can't just keep spending all their money for them. We can't just keep writing checks off with Joe York's count. But there are ways that they're going to be able to get a lot of when you hear about the Kathy Kathy Kathy Kathy, There are ways to look at next year and say we can get we could squeeze a little more on 1 82.5 when you think I agree with you. Jim Kalla Kami from the athletic. Nice job, man. You did a great job over there. And I'm not just saying that your guys covering not only the Niners, but the war is you made a lot of great choices and getting the guys that you got. So it's always good to catch up with you, man. Thanks. They appreciate John. Thanks, guys. You gotta at Tim Couple Kami follow many athletic. He'll block you but a time for me, Right? And again. I like that. He went out on a limb. Nobody does predictions anymore, man. People are afraid of predictions and well, it's stupid. So seven between you'll be fighting within three minutes that zip my That's my prediction, all right. We'll talk about it through the things that he said there will finish up the conversation on the 40 Niners. Bottom of the hour. Mark Sanchez, not the Jets quarterback, but our own guy from can. Br dot com is in Scottsdale. So we will talk to him, especially about Alia Ramos, and you just sent me a text on something that the Rangers air doing. That doesn't necessarily surprise me because of what this is just do exactly, But but it's a little bit head scratching because it's something that you and I were just talking about about you and the bunkers, So we'll get it all those things. Coming up next on that mark will only here in the sports center. Did you know you can listen to Papa and London? Your Google home? Smart speaker just.

"These sports reader. Dave, just listen to my here. He saw a note to the NFL spinning about 75 million on testing this year, which doesn't shock me at all. I think you I think the NBA spent some 150 million or 170 million, something like that on the on the bubble right? They were doing rapid testing and then the house everybody and they had to do all that. Worked. Kept Everybody safe, right? There were no tests positive like that in the in the bubble from guys who didn't fly in l a work. Don't fly. L a workout, right? Um, was giving some war your stuff here little bit of time before we make the connection with Murphy back on the other side, But yesterday, they did their media session. All these the zoom calls they did with Steve Kerr and Bob Myers. Just kind of nice to get a little touch warrior basketball. These guys haven't played Nine months since March. Marcus Thompson was on yesterday with Murph in Mac and he said, Man, My cup is full. I don't They just ended basketball just finish and I'm like, Yeah, sure, but if you're a warrior fan, and you're not in tow Into the rest of the league, and I don't know what I mean. If you're a warrior fan, you're probably left in NBA basketball in general. But if you weren't loving the bubble, and you were just missing your guys, it's been a long time since we got word your basketball. I feel like I didn't even get my fix of Giants baseball this year, man. I went in my whistle for two months, and that was that was it We're like, you know, by the way, Hot Stove league show tonight with Mark Willard. You wanna catch that? But I think I think Farhan Zaidi did a little podcast with Jim Kalla Kami. We started to hear that today on the athletic as well, But I need my giants fixed, man. I need to I'm hurt. I need some baseball dude, Anyway, for basketball fans, You need a little war your basketball in here. We have it for you, Steve Curry yesterday and I love this because it's been so long that now everybody's coming out with questions. You gonna answer What's happening? Man Who's starting Who's playing? Where are you making more trades? Are you signing more players? Was this a true rumor? Was that a true rumor? Were you ever gonna move the pick and so on and so forth? It all started with Steve Kerr answering the question straight up. You drafted this kid number two. Overall, he 7 ft. 17 ft. 2 19 years old appears to be a freak of nature Joe Lake and called him a once in a decade player. He believes Steve Kerr is James Wiseman. You're starting center on opening night. I'm not really not even thinking of it in those terms. You know, obviously we have multiple options with loony and marquees and James s. So we anticipate all three of them playing and as always will figure out you know who starts and who plays in what role as we go. You know what's funny is when you tell me like, come on loony and Marquees. Crystal. You're just You're too big men last year if you told me coming into this year, these your guys I'd be like, Yeah, right. Whatever you tell me, It's those two guys and Weissman. I'm kind of intrigued by that. I like that for a court man. I sort of like that. That's your center in power for position on. Imagine marquees. Chris will get a little running power forward as well. But I was intrigued by here on those three names. Come on, Loony. Getting him healthy is a big factor to this guy. You talk about toughness on the court do that time coming out in the finals A couple years ago. Just just, you know, world of pain. We're that, like flak jacket Looking thing underneath it, like didn't have, like a thorn total rib cartilage or something, And he's banging with the best of them duties on there with Marcus all in the finals, trying to keep the Warriors alive I love hearing about Come on loony. Getting healthy on it would be. I think that's that's an intriguing Uh, center power forward or to call it a tandem that that trio with Draymond green is is kind of like that. I like that group anyway, more from Steve Kerr you're talking about. Starting rotation of the starting five. And basically, we just asked, like, do you have you have your starting five? We know it's gonna be Steph and Wiggins and Draymond. But have you thought about filling out the rest of the starting lineup? Probably four. I mean, it would be hard for me, Tonto not see Kelly and and Andrew starting on the wings, You know, obviously Stephan dream on to be starting. So for the likely for I suppose there's a chance As we get a glimpse of everything that we might decide. We need to change the rotation change the starting group. That's always a possibility of my mindset going into this season. Is that those four guys? This would be in our starting group, and then we'll see with the centers and as good as anybody. I think we've seen this with Steve Kerr over the last six years is When they've had little changes to their starting lineup or changes to the roster like, for example, when they added Kevin Durant. Take a minute to figure out what the right rotation was right. Like who? Who do you keep stuff on the floor with? He didn't go into detail. Yesterday. Marcus Thompson had a good piece on this in the athletic about how Stephens Raymond would be the two on the court together. That would be the tandem and like the second in the first unit, the second unit would be Wiggins and you break. Not that they wouldn't start. But when you come out and you start working your rotations for his bench players You're looking for for a veteran to be on the floor, and the hope is is that they can get some guys off the bench who will sort of feel I don't know that anybody can ever fill the Andre Iguodala role that was invaluable role and again, People Talk Hall of Fame for him. I don't know that I'm that far, but he's as good as you can get right without without maybe being in that class, and he's an all time warrior, and you hope that he has something to do with the organization at some point when it's all said and done, But a Zafar is your rotations go or as far as your Your starters who were going to be in rotation together on the floor when some of the guys who get arrested believe you said Stephan Dream on, would be on the floor together, which is good cause staff can can handle the ball and then grandma in such a good password and play off the ball. Go get open for for shots anyway. More from Steve Kerr here talking about Clay Thompson. Have you seen or talked to clay since the surgery since the injury Just just What's going on with him? We've talked a couple times I went down there. You know, the day after his injury, and so I was with him when he got the diagnosis from a doctor for Uncle Rick celebrate Mia. I went down there and then we've texted since in quite a bit, and you know he's hanging in there. It's obviously devastating blow to her reclaiming as much as he loves to play and as much as he was Is looking forward to getting back to this season, and it's just a cruel twist of fate for him to have to go through this again, so we'll just keep checking in on him. I know his teammates were checking on him and We hope that before too long, he'll be able T be back up here with his teammates, and we'll get him in here to start his rehab, and he can at least to be part of the group. And that's that's the plan. But you know more than you think. We all just feel the devastated for him because he he deserves better. Yeah, man. He deserves the best. Clay Thompson it It's such Manhattan which celebrated went down too. Check it on him, But it's gonna be a long road back for quite Thompson. Likely Clinton the question following up that was with Clay's injury. How does that affect staff in his minutes? You want to run him into the ground, right? So how you plan to manage steps? Minutes this year, Steve You know, the idea of going in would be trying to keep his minutes around where they've been probably gonna be more difficult. I mean, we've always been really blessed with great talent and the ability to give our starters a lot of rest with him. Been blessed over the years to have a lot of blowouts where Steph didn't have to play the fourth quarter and same with dream on and play and Cady and we don't have that luxury anymore. So you know, I would love to keep his minutes down. You know that at 34 range and Way know that That's the best thing for him and for us long term and that's that's going to be the goal. So feel free to take shots at me when we have a triple overtime game and I leave him out there. Food. If you want me. Oh, thanks you. Well, this is the thing is when stuff was you know what he was saying? His healthiest and when he was When he was playing 34 35 minutes a game. If that's ideal, that's also kind of when you had Kevin Durant. That's when you had so much firepower on the floor..

"That's a lot better or like you said a young guy that we need that can come in and show that he can make an impact in this league. But last year staffer went out What we lost out. We didn't win anything last year. We couldn't find anybody that went to show that a mediocre quarterback just can't come in here and throw the ball. Um, like I said, he is very injury plagued. He tries to play through it that it is it Z. I've been saying it for the last couple years. Maker Brake maker break and this is it like he's getting older on and there's nothing to it. The rosters trash the coaching. It's He's either gonna win when US games or he's not, and he can't do it with Matt Prater, him and Matt Prater can when it's goodness its way. Gotta figure something out every win this year's bed and at the buzzer to you. Is that yeah, was cardiac cats. They used to call my like, three years ago or whatever. You got four game winning field goals, and Stafford had that. No private greatest comeback of his career against Atlanta and S O, You know that are the Dallas game? Definitely. I think the Dallas I left the Dallas game earlier. You were there. You left my uncle. You know, he's like we gotta get going. I'm like, I think my parents were in the same suite is Jerry Jones for that game? They said, Oh, my God was flipping out. But that definitely was probably the best comeback because the Falcons really they're irrelevant like we should have won that game anyway, so they should blow him up and a bunch of the teams the lines are playing this year are relevant, but they just the Panthers and the Texans are irrelevant. So if you do not dominate these teams, it's gonna It's gonna be an ugly storm here. They're gonna call for Patricia's head tomorrow if he lose If you lose tomorrow, this, you know your two games under 500, even despite the extended postseason, where they take what, like seven or eight teams, it's still gonna be. I think, Patricia Needs to go How we talked. We say that we beating a dead horse. He's taken three seasons to get the same amount of wins is Jim Caldwell in one season by giving this guy all these chances, Caldwell was exactly Patricia was the coach to take us over the hump because they were there. It's like trade. Chauncey builds for Allen Iverson they were, you know, maybe Iverson can get us over the hump, and it's just not happening. You know, we could just be honest like we've had the right personnel at the wrong time. And it's been that Stafford He has been the difference maker, but he hasn't had the rest of the thing around him. I'm not making excuses for him whatsoever because he's had his fair share of struggles. Oh, yeah, and he's been a liability here in there. But on the whole like through his career, he's had pieces and he is a you know, like the cornerstone of the franchise for the last decade plus, but he's been if it's at the wrong time. Had we had Megatron. Didn't get anything with it. We hadn't dominance. Ooh, yeah way had we had, um Jim Caldwell, who was doing good things wrong time. Everything else has to line up and I do want to back up. You're saying something about Patricia being a hero? If we win a playoff game? How much of that? Do you honestly think is his doing? Well, he had not a lot I would so he'd be in the right place at the right time. He's literally the dude because look at this organization he like You don't want a playoff game since what 94 So if you want a playoff game with this roster you're doing even if it's not Patricia's doing. He's still gonna get praise like he's Jesus Christ and I don't I don't blame anyone that does that. I would take back everything I said about him so far. Thank you. Jesus. I think as any fan, it's so far fetched. I honestly think that he has anything to do with it. He just He's a deer in the headlights every week. Same we'll see that at the post game. We've got the same thing We've talked about colors better kick in and week out. Where he literally looks like he doesn't do anything different, and we either win or lose, and he acts the same way. We have got a coach better. Yeah, and a lot of the times and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Here and there. The fact of the matter is Lot of the times. People are looking at this as some sort of really complex, you know, Scheme and execution, and this is that when it just boils down to, he just probably just sitting there with the pencil in his ear. Just going. Everybody around me is doing a good job. I look so great. He looks like Homer Simpson. Most of the time. He doesn't make any moves. It doesn't do any challenges will sit there, like challenge play, challenge the players and then they'll show him and he's sitting there. Like what am I doing for dinner tonight? I gotta get a new pencils like, Come on, man. Yeah, There's gotta be, you know, but if you win if you win a playoff game here The fan base Ical insane, But from that, Patricia, they were praising me like they would absolutely crazy. I find that I know they would cry for Matt Stafford. You know if the cheers of joy from that Stafford But Matt Patricia would look like an absolute genius. If he wins a playoff game, Mr. Actually, what's not happening? Cory, If you go to Seattle, it would've playoff game. Call me crazy, but Matt Patricia would go down as a hero and trite. All right. I think he would, He would. There's so much that happens on the field that you have to. If you look at that guy on TV every Sunday, he looks lost. But Jim Caulder looked lost to Jim Kalla with this same exact Jim Caldwell with his great mustache. He's also 70 years old, right, But she said that because he wasn't making any calls, either. Yeah, crazy, so many talent. He had a lot of more talent than Patricia winning record. He was winning games, too. But we should have never let him it was just It's just getting over. The hydrogen called Oh, yeah, definitely. And Caldwell got to the postseason, but he couldn't win. Can Patricia get there and wait again? Like I'm the flip side? I don't think Caldwell was the factor in whether or not we want our lost those games. Mm. Give the day you need a Hall of fame coach that has any sort of, you know, the coordinators do so much in the NFL. They're the most likely they're calling the place they're They're doing all that the head coach is just the maniacs screaming on the sideline gives in the refs face he's doing, you know the personnel on the field, but I'm out. Yeah, it's taken chances too like they gotta make you gotta take chances. You can't sit over there and just hope that we string a win together like you said against the Washington team like By three points, Like big deal like that guy has to take chances. Fourth down and five were losing Why we pay him the ball still like, what are we doing? We have to go for stuff like that challenge plays like there was a game. One time he was out there. I forget who we're playing. He could've challenged a play in the first quarter second quarter. And that literally lost us the game. It came back and bite us bit us in the back, but it's just east. Like you said He's sitting there worrying about if he's got a job at the end of the scene at the end of the night, and he just doesn't care. That's a lot of stress going into every game. This is a must win game. Stressful guy. His beard is gonna be great. It's gonna be straggling. What's gonna be great. Bye bye week. 16 the Santa suit that stuff stuff that thing. Said that were in that situation where if you if if if the team wins way, try and attributed to something that he did,.

"Back. This is the bench of heroes are joining us. On the line is Jan Carlos Ochoa. He's a conservative media strategist and writer helped lead the Trump reelection campaign Hispanic communication effort. Trump campaign obviously, over performed with regard to Hispanics. That's particularly true in Texas and Florida, Jim Carrey much for joining the show. Hey, Dan. Great to be with you. So let's start with the obvious question. What did Trump do right with regard to the Latino vote in particularly Florida and Texas? Why did that differ in terms of Arizona and California? Maybe you can explain some of these sort of complicating factors. Yeah, I think it's very think it's very interesting. We had a very robust campaign, really throughout the country and in Florida President Trump's strong message of his opposition to socialism and his very strong economy, economy and economic record really resonated with Hispanics in South Florida and in central Florida. Also So, for example, he gained 11 points with Puerto Rican and Central Florida, which nobody saw coming. And in South Florida, he reassembled the conservative coalition, which at historically relied upon Historic exile generation of Cuban Americans and now includes young Cuban Americans of people like me, but also New York. Cuban arrivals along with Colombians, Peruvians and Venezuelans. It was a combination of like having a very strong economic record and taking a very strong stance against socialism. While the same time the Democrats had just asleep at the leadership level. Had embraced the neo Marxists who had hijacked the party and that alienated an entire generation of Cuban Americans and other Latinos in Florida, and it didn't also help with Puerto Rican. Um Joe Biden had a very poor record on Puerto Rico, and we communicated that to the boutique Watts, who live in Florida, and in other places like Philadelphia, a swell well, it really is interesting. We talked about the Hispanic vote. It's treated by the media as monolithic. And as you mentioned, it is far from monolithic. There's a big difference between folks who came from Venezuela or came from Cuba. And folks were immigrating from Mexico in terms of what their prior political situation was. What maybe their their world view is, If you came from a hard core communist last socialist country like Cuba or Venezuela, you probably have a different view of socialism than if you came from a country like Mexico, for example. Yeah, but you know what, Though? What was really fascinating about these election results is that there are about nine counties in Texas. There 90% or more Hispanic and these air, overwhelmingly Mexican American. And in these counties, President Trump gained 13 points relatives the 2016. In fact, I Maya now who's almost done, it seems like he may be the Republican with the highest percentage ever in these counties, with the exception of George W. Bush in 2004. Meaning that he could see the higher share of the vote in those Texas counties than Governor George Bush did in in 2000, which is really fascinating. I've also been taking a look at the at the data and other states like New Mexico and in California. It seems like it has gained in those states were slightly smaller s O. I think in New Mexico and New Mexico's majority Hispanic counties, he gained about four points and in California's majority Hispanic counties. Gained about 1.6% points. But the California case is interesting because there are so many Latinos there, But neither side really had a strong campaign in California. You know, nobody buys a lot of local TV there or does a lot of GOTV effort so You know, those states are not going to move this much. But in the battleground states, we saw significant movement and I found that really fascinating. And Giancarlo how much of this have to do with the specific appeal of President Trump and how much of it had to do with the fact that Democratic partly party alienated so money? Hispanic and Latino voters, namely through their embrace of socialism in certain respects, but also through their sort of myopic focus on things like black lives matter, and the suggestion that there is no progress available to people who are are are are of minority persuasion. Yeah, I think that's a really great question. Ben s O. As far as what the Democrats did wrong. At first. It doesn't help the fact that the Democrats have now decided to call Hispanic Latin X, which is a term that No Hispanic identifies with so there's a sort of like cultural locust that just doesn't really resonate among in Latino culture, which is certainly not woke me where that's not how we are and then in these particular liking these border counties where we saw some of President Trump strongest games with Latinos. Democrats is just abandoned any kind of position on border security, and that actually matters to these communities. Look when you're rich guy like Jorge Ramos that Univision in Miami You don't really care about border security. It's not something that's impacting your daily life. But when you're a Mexican American in a place like Hidalgo, Texas, it really harmed like illegal immigration could really harm away live. And it could jeopardize your job and your family and the Democrats just abandoned that position altogether. And I think that's really hurting the Democrats. And at the same time it is true that President Trump has a very unique blue collar worker appeal. That really resonates with Latinos, who really now consists of the bulk of the working class in America and the like a small business entrepreneur, that's as well Jean Carlo final question for you. How much of Trump's performance here do you think is biblical for the future for Republican candidates, or do you think it's unique to President Trump? There is a massive service today that I believe are unique. But look, I mean, Someone who I was not a Republican. When I was younger, watching kind of little bit from the outside in, it reminded me at least back in the days that reminded me a little bit of judge mails from from Caddyshack. You can't brand yourself is like going as like that party. The Republicans, I think are now if you just look at the demographic data and where where we're getting our support from. It was clearly a like a strong working class middle class party. We should be able to reassemble that coalition again in the future, but at the same time we need to have pretty sophisticated messaging and understand. Like you said earlier that communicating with a Colombian American is not the same thing as when you're engaging Mexican Americans, and in fact when you're and when you're engaging with Mexican Americans in Texas It's different than your message in New Mexico and Arizona. So having that messaging dedication is going to be essential to our success in the future and our ability to reassemble this coalition and continue growing it. Jim Kalla soap Oh conservative media strategist. Have lead the trump reelection campaign among Hispanic Americans that really appreciate the time. Thank you so much. Then take care. All right, coming up. We gonna jump into the mailbag weapons on it in a while. So we're gonna answer your questions in the mail bag because it is indeed, the Friday Friday so we're going to check out all of your life issues and examine them in detail coming up. This is the bench girl show..

"They've been they've been called, just got work early. You know, the bullpen works a whole lot better when you called the work later and you're pitching in the rules that you're accustomed to versus coming in and in games in the fourth inning Now, the back to back days your your back in there again and in the fourth inning. It just makes things totally different when you're when you're working in the rules that your custom pitching and antics that you're accustomed to, you know, this game is mental. And so these guys are down there, prepare for when they have to. To come into baseball games, and I know when the phone rings, you have to be ready, but I do think it throws you off, you know, pitched out of the bullpen. I do believe that it throws you off when you called it into a game, for example, in the fourth inning versus the sixth Do I not only were you a great great player and you know, four times you want 20 games consecutively, But you're also a great postseason. You rose to the biggest moments not just with the A's but also with the Toronto Blue Jays. So you have the full resumes a player. But you are also a general manager and assistant general manager. You are a player agents. So you know the game inside and out. And I just want to get your thoughts about Billy being because you know, Billy well, but he was a teammate of years when you guys won the World Series and the quote that he gave Jim Kalla kami It's just interesting in May, as you look at No playoff baseball that, Billy said. You know, the small things and all the little things. People talk about it as it matters that seem that it's more home runs wins the game, but I'm watching the Dodgers last night. They don't hit a homerun. They went in a very sloppy, You know his basic for free. Put out that The Padres can execute Justin Turner's going the other way. So you know, how do you win? Come October since you did win in October. And is it different than the six months of the regular seasons, too? I believe it is it in in October and November. It really comes down to execution. It comes down to the team that plays the best, please, the best defence and it comes down to the team. That pitch is the best you're facing. Ah, starting rotation that has been set up specifically for the playoffs. So you gonna face the best 12 and three guys in this particular case you're gonna face the best 123. 45, but The bottom line is pitching has always made the difference in postseason play and playing defense. Now what happens with the offense is that you're going to because you're facing Better pitching in a short serious then you would during the course of the season. You know, home, Roger Nice, But I believe manufacturing runs is what wins baseball games because you are facing a different scenario, guys, their their their antennas are up. They're more in tune there more focused. Their execution is better in the playoffs, so I believe that you have to play the game holistically home runs and nice but opportunities you have to seize opportunities if you can hit and run. And open up a spot where you can you can you can get a ball through hitting behind the runners, Bunning runners over those are the things that historically have made baseball the sport that it ISS and and I don't think that you can remake that portion of the game if you expect to be a championship team. Real cooks. Do we know you got to get on TV, But they're going to turn to Jesus Lazard with rookie to save their season. What you think Well, you know that. I don't like to question the mind Trust of of The Oakland Athletics and what they do. I don't sit in that seat. But if I did sit in and see that would not be the move for me as it wasn't a move for me when he started the first game of the division, Siri's I think that this is a situation for me. Frankie Montage is the guy that should be start today's game. I think that stuff The ability experience. No. He's just a little bit more experienced and Lassard. Oh, I just think that it's a heavy weight to put on a young pitcher in his first full season of Major league Baseball of It's a lot of pressure. You know he wasn't successful in the first game, and now he's pitching the ultimate gang. This is a do or die gang. This is winner win or you go home, and I just think that that's an unbelievable amount of pressure placed on this young man. Great stuff has always do. Thank you so much for taking the time before you hit TV will be watching and we'll talk to you soon. Thank you so much. Take care fellas studio, he'd be out there. I agree with him, Mother. He's the same as he was the pitcher. He's ready. Just looked you right in the camera gives you the Jets stare and comes at you. I think Frankie Montas may pitch, though, John. I mean, they're not going obviously have a long leash here, but Especially when you look at the fact that the inexperience but also spring a riding out to the righty brand me hits both. He's got splits. Bragman Rieti career writing when you're going against mainly of right handed hitting lineup, I just I think they could come in right behind Lazard of the lefty with montage. I think that's that was Ray Foster. Yes, during the broadcast, he thought of the montage, so this could be a little gamesmanship. How about what the Yankees did last night?.

"I mean, that's what is that the sport we want, and I think that there is that element of aesthetics. And tradition that Rory stands for, and I personally think that you know, I'm sure a lot of people are going to say that it's Sal Graves because he got beat. But I don't believe Rory thinks that way, and I believe a lot of other guys. Also look at D shambo and and and wonder, you know, is the mad scientist Really the way that that you know, professional golf wants to go. I was going to ask you like generally speaking, That's Rory's point. That's his point of view. What is your sense as to what other players on tour think of Bryson generally speaking Look, I mean, he's definitely a quirky fellow and, like Phil Mickelson said the other day. We tweeted yesterday that you know he's he's the most interesting God. Tiger likes talking to him because he's very unique and His thoughts are interesting. I don't think he's a bad guy. I mean, I'm not. I don't wanna. I don't wanna portray him as some sort of on an evil mad scientist, but he definitely is different. And I think that he is a bit of an acquired taste. I don't know that he's going to be having too many guys who are gonna want, you know, go out to dinner with him and He's a little bit of Ah solo character within the same What Again, You know they're gonna They're gonna look at him and they're going to take lessons from him. And I think that what happens when the next brought Cindy Sheehan Bhai shows up and instead of bulking up to 40 He's going to bulk up to 90, you know, at what point You know, where is where is little gonna wins, and I just I don't have an answer for it. But I know that a TTE some point the authorities, the regulators of the game are going to need to make decisions, and one of those decisions might just be to do nothing. And just let it evolve. But at some point, you would think that restricting the distance the ball travels on restricting the spring like effect on the drivers. Might not be a bad idea similar to baseball. I mean, if you guys you know, Jim Kalla stands an aluminum bat. I mean, the game with man Never get out. So it just is these questions that are gonna need a dressing. So, Robert. Finally, what do you make of him? When he was asked a question. Are you going to get bigger for Augusta? He said Yes. I think I might be able to get to 2 45. If he puts on 10 or 15. Maur. What do you expect to see from him at Augusta? Well, I mean, we know what he's going to do, which is what he said he was going to do last week, which is I don't care. I'm hitting driver. I am just going to hit the driver and I'm going to hit it as far as I can. And then I'm gonna go find it and that's what he's going to do it Augusta now I would have thought that Augusta is not a good fit for him, primarily because of the greens. But The Green's that wing foot are brutal, and they were quick. They're undulating. That got a lot of similarities. So you know realistically, is there you know what's going to stop him? I just don't know what's going to stop him because when he's on, you know, you look at his numbers Wedge game was on design games on his drive a game. Was not really on, but it went so far. It didn't matter And remember this little gusta. There is no real rough. There is what they call the second Cup, which is, which is, you know very short rough, but there's no real cup. So you know, you can just pound it out there and we're going to have you know. November is we're not sure what November will bring for a masters. It's a very different obviously different time of the year. So if it is a little chilly, I mean, I think the advantage for him is even even bigger because he's just gonna be monstering it out there. I love that He's going to hit it as far as he can, and then just go find it. He has a golf analyst. He's an author of unplayable, an inside account of Tigers most tumultuous season and we do consider him a good friend of the program, Robert Lucidity. Robert. Thanks so much great to have you back. Appreciate you got around me a job. Well done, Robert Lou Savage. All right. There's also this amazing quote. I ran out of time. But he was walking. He did a walking interview with a reporter from Golf magazine on Saturday. In that interview, Shambo has asked if he was nervous on the first tee. His response was quote. Yeah, it's definitely a little bit of nerves, but there's also other things. Sensitivity to air. How I'm perceiving reality. It's very difficult to explain. Unquote. Who would ask questions. It is fine for the rest of us difficult. What are you talking about? How I'm Perceiving reality and my sensitivity to.

"Well, kick it over their phone calls and 877337 66 66 batting leadoff today would be Jen in Huntington. Good afternoon, Jen Jen. Hi, guys. Hi, Darin. Good good for you, Jen. All right. I just have to stay and I'm so excited this back. I'm such a big baseball fan. It's still three weeks away, and I don't really trust him and I hit it. So just what Justin Shawn, you were talking about spring training and wondering what the Injury situations going to be like I immediately had the thought of like, you know, baseball so freaky. Anything could happen. What if they're in that three week period, there are less injuries or there are less Severe injuries like Obviously it's not going to be the same style spring training or whatever they do to tweet that I could be. Potentially, I mean, obviously would be a small sample size is 13 week period of this, but I can see them maybe going forward and future from dreaming. Just like adjusting maybe the format or the one Let's say junior right that in a three week time period, there are less injuries. Well, what's gonna happen when the season starts? Because now you're getting into that baseball sprint. I just find it really tough to believe that we're going to magically have fewer injuries, you know? So I doubt that'll happen. And I'm also curious with Louise RoHaas Inara Moon specifically how they handle playing time. If they're gonna look at Hey, it's a 60 games sprint. We've got to go nuts. Everybody's gotta play everyday. Let's go or if they're actually going to be more conservative and say, Let's make sure we've given guys you know a day off for two day off a week just to make sure they don't get injured because of this may really I expect guys to play 60 games. What days off? Are you kidding me? I seriously I mean, why would you be surprised that he would be surprised? Surprised me, but I expect guys that are everyday plays the play and every day I mean, I got to see you at least 55 out of 60 games from these guys. The joke? That's me, Joe. Here's the question. Is that what you want? Or is that what you think? I want guys to play everyday to in a perfect world, But in this day and age, we're just make real these guys going. Play 40 games out of 60. I mean, really over, saying I don't I don't know if it's 40 out of 60 but you can't see Aaron Judge Jeff McNeil name the guy you want. Do any cess pit is Giancarlo Stanton. Get a day off a week. You can't see that. Look I think certain guys you know should be playing every day. I'm sorry. I expect maybe not suspicious but I expect like just looking at it. From the mid point of view. I expect to see Alonso everyday McNeil everyday conforto everyday Rosario every day. I mean, you know Actually, these young guys I expect to see you play. It's a 60 game season when Todo Wow You know what my people would give you two days a week off for wicked ourselves. You know what You, but which would be that's what I expect. Well, but what are we arguing what we would do or what we think is gonna happen. It's baseball in 2020 guys getting Dale get maybe you wouldn't be. But how do you give a guy the guys had a 3.5 months of major stays? Hold on. I mean, you know, guys, 25 years old, 26 years old. I won't make it stays the anything Let's play ball. You playing 60 games on me? I don't expect these guys to be sitting out twice a week. I'm worried. I'm worried that's gonna happen. Understands, you know, suspicious? Who knows? I don't know, Ira. Who knows what the deal was with him. Okay? I don't know. Even Jim Kalla is gonna make of a D h. That's what they're talking about. Right? Okay, fine. You know, I get it. I mean, he's that is His injury history. I guess maybe even a guy like Judge if the guys had an injury is really want to be a little more cautious with the guy, but that guy doesn't have an injury history. There's no reason this guy shouldn't be playing. I mean, am I not saying this? You're not not saying it. I don't know if what you're saying is gonna happen. You want to give the kid your womanly seasons? Ramos to take a day off a week or two days? Okay, I understand. He's a catcher will different Joe. I'm not disagreeing with how I would do it if I was a manager, but we have lived in a world in normal seasons where guys getting off days all the time. Let's go up there, But I don't think so. I don't expect guys that a 26 years old miss 20 games in a 60 games twenties too much. I wouldn't say 20. But do you think if you had to guess, Joe, if you had to guess right now, we got a full 60 game season. How many guys are playing all 60 games? I don't know. But I would expect you playing at least in the fifties Minimum made of saying Well say, Dan is up in Albany. Hey, Dan. Dan, How are you? Good afternoon, guys. You know this conversation is wonderful. But as you say, it is a splint. Baseball will be played totally different, But the thing with the match and I'm a Mets fan, you have a couple of players that could replace a player for a game or two. And I don't think you might lose that much. Dominic Smith Davis, You have a couple of guys I know, you know, could be replaced by the second base for a couple games. He's not hitting. But the big thing is going to come down to the hurling in the pitching and firing the lock, and I think that will be the determining course of how the Mets will perceive right from the start. And this is going to be such a fantastic season. I think because games are going to be played totally different. Grab more aggressively. What do you mean? How were they going to play differently? Yes, I honestly think we play to win the game immediately. So you can, if you can steal and bump and these lips and drive things now might be a little bit different from competing in 162 game schedule. We will be playing a little bit differently. Has the game comes down to the final? I just Dan Dan, I don't think you're right. I don't think all of a sudden now we're going to see more bun thing. Forget the extra innings. Maybe we will, because there's a runner second, drove it out. Well, that means it's God. Who knows Our strategy is going to be played for that, you know? Yeah, Blake, I could see I could see that as an automatic, You know, guy born automatic, You know, Attentional walk? Yes. The next move, right? Oh, absolutely depends. Who's coming up in a battle right? No question. But You know how different the games we're going to be managed from an aggressiveness standpoint. Maybe you have a quicker hook and going to your bullpen. Maybe you're playing the match ups a little bit more. I don't know, especially the 1st 20 games of the season. I'm not sure and here's the thing. None of us know, because we've never seen this before. We've never seen a 60 game season, but I'm not sure the game's going to manage that much differently. We'll see. Joe is in Brooklyn. Hey, Jo Jo. Hey, guys, how we doing? What's up, man? I personally think that this particular season is to our advantage. If you look at Hey, the Mex. They have no chance of winning and 162 game season. Just why? Why would you say that? Why? Well, hold on. What do you mean? There's no chance of winning 162 games. Why do you say that? Because because I've been in that phase for me, so I've been a fan since day one. But I'm not going through this season. I look at what they can take the play off. His team couldn't make the play offs over 106 162 games. Special with the new manager. And tempting and who they are. I'm just saying what a 60 gave season. You have better luck on your side meeting injuries. People get sick. You get into a you win nine. I can A ll these things that could happen with that. It works in their favor because they got a little look Joe Joe talking about. He's talking about the metas. If they're the Marlins, Gloria, what you talking about the 1960 to about I don't actually anything. If anything, I think it's worse with games. I agree with you, I I like my chances a lot better over 162 games that they could make the playoffs that I do over a 60 game. You know who knows what could happen covert 19th season I agree with you and I and I also think it again. It's a pure guess we've never seen anything like this. The strength of the New York Mets is they're starting rotation. Even with Noah Syndergaard. Their weakness is their bullpen. I'm not sure in a 60 game season where we don't know how stretched out starters are right out of the gate. If that's the kind of team that will be Getting an advantage from a shorter season. I think the teams with the deeper bullpens, we're gonna have an advantage in a 62nd team that's a less a team like a team, like the Marlins gets an advantage because I think the playing field gets leveled a little bit..

"While the men every red randall struggling baseball so you're watching the yankees in the midst preseason games in as they progress due to poor numbers get higher who are those prospects and what are the prospects appear back with us the one who knows he acknowledged expert from mlb dotcoms and build the pipeline was so happy to welcome back to the big show jim kallas jim great to have you with me thank you so much a glad to be here let me ask you general question about two thousand eighteen any trends among the top prospects across baseball this year um i think if similar to what we saw last year was the trenton uss last year that most of the top prospects in baseball seemed to be international signings um which i think underscores the importance of international signings obviously i mean i'm looking at our and they'll be pipeline list and the top six guys on their uh shohei hey tommy ronald the koonya vladmir grew junior you william and as clever towards the victor robe was wall international signs and so it was a number eight guy from china taipei's junior and number eleven guy francisco me he uh and so on so that's one into and i think this once more cyclical we just seems like a lot of the top prospects last two years uh if you look at the top twenty or twentyfive prospects in the game it's been very position player heavy and and i think that's just more sickle hold it anything there are times where there's a lot of pitchers he jumped out at you that guy i know this year your our top aide guys are all position players coming into the year uh and is pretty heavy through the top twenty five the mets was since we are the flagship station for the new york yankees radio network let's start with the yankees where does the yankee system rank among the top thirty we um you know we ranked fifth and it'll be dot com and we have the yankees schick i think you could argue them as high as four uh even with all the the moves they've made i mean they made a lot of trades during the off the you.
