Charlie Pierce Believes the FBI Must Have Inside Information on Trump

"The thing is. I honestly believe all of those people, they don't know what the FBI grabbed. Right. I mean, they don't, I mean, Jim Jordan doesn't know what they have. They're way out on a limb. He doesn't know what they have. Yeah. That's the thing. But again, I mean, I go along with all of the FBI law enforcement types who say there is no federal judge who ever lived, who signs off on this warrant, unless it's absolutely. Yeah. They've got somebody saying something. Not just suspicions of what may are the fact of the national archives is pissed. I love the national archives and I think that people work there are wonderful, but that's not enough to get a federal judge to sign off on a warrant either. Yeah. We were saying with eastman and Clark, they were saying what it takes to get a warrant to get a raid on attorney like that. But you're right. For the former president, I mean, I think. If I were king of the forest, I would be very interested in what pat cipollone is always already told.

Andy Ogles: Earning the Edorsement of Trace Adkins

"You've been endorsed by the freedom caucus. I know that Jim Jordan, Scott Perry, who's the chairman of the freedom caucus, Mark Meadows, who helped found it, who was Donald Trump's chief of staff. They've all weighed in already. They're all already helping. You've also been endorsed, I think in one of the, one of the cooler endorsement trace Atkins who doesn't get involved politically a lot, but he stepped up. How did you get trace involved? Well, you know, and we also can't leave out senator Ted Cruz. I mean, here at the end, when we felt that the race might be tightening a little bit, he without hesitation jumped in. He said, look, I need a fighter. We need more fighters like you up here in Congress and it would be an honor to endorse you. And so, but trace Atkins really goes back to COVID. You know, I refuse to comply with the mandates. I refuse to shut my community down. You know, the way I looked at it is if you're a single mom with two kids, your job was essential. If you're a small business owner, you're leasing your savings, your lives on the line, your business is essential and how dare the government. How dare the government tell you that you need to shut down. And so I refuse to comply with any of that nonsense. And because of that, trace had reached out just as a thank you gesture to say, hey, you want to go have dinner. And we started connecting and we had a concert. That first year of COVID, on the square, had over 35,000 people there. Because for me, it was about finding a solution. Look, COVID is real. I had a good friend that died from it, but I was unwilling to just cower and hide under my desk. We had to find a way through it. And that was by trusting people to make good decisions for themselves and not relying on the government to run our lives. Well,

"One of the best arguments for us to take back the house is to make sure Jim Jordan is in a position of leadership. Congressman Jordan, welcome back to the program. Good to be with you, Charlie and thanks for thanks for all you're doing for the cause of freedom. We appreciate it. Thank you. Well, you're fighting every single day. So congressman walk us through this new whistleblower. Seems like there's a lot of whistleblowers right now at the FBI and it's kind of it's hard to keep them all straight. Walk us through the one that you're kind of focused on right now that reveals scandalous push by FBI to pad domestic teradata. Please go ahead. Yeah, yeah. Your first point there, we've had over a dozen FBI agents come to us as whistleblowers. And think about it. They're coming to us when we're in the minority where we can't subpoena documents. They're just coming to us because it's so bad, the political nature of that place now is so, so egregious that they're willing to come to us just so we can begin to tell their story and tell the truth to the American people. And we had one come to us in the last few weeks who said that they are being pressured to label almost every case. The catalog or categorize almost every case as a domestic terrorism case as it didn't do it. Domestic violence extremism, I think, is the technical term they use. And you remember, they created this office within DoJ back as the start of this year. They stood it up a few months ago. And now they're being pressured to do it. And kind of the interesting thing about it is they said one of the key people who was doing the pressuring on the good rank and file agents is this guy named Timothy T bolt, who just happens to be the same guy who the other whistleblower, a different whistleblower who went to senator grassley, said was the individual who was responsible for suppressing evidence about the Hunter Biden story. So first thing evidence that would have disproved the whole disinformation campaign that we got from the left in the run up to the 2020 presidential election. So that's how political displace has become and it's why we're trying to tell the story and as you point out, hopefully if we get in the majority, we can do a little more about it.

Charlie Unpacks the Failed Referendum to Outlaw Abortion in Kansas

"I want to talk about Kansas. I have talked a little bit about this ballot issue in Kansas, and so for example, we got an email here of some people in Kansas. Hey Charlie, I'm a kansan pro life and Christian. I voted in person and yes, for the value them both amendment. It was very confusing language on the ballot, but we do have many Christians and churches supporting choice. It was heartbreaking, but nothing has changed as far as I could tell. Basically it seems the amendment was just for future protection laws. It goes on to say this is a big hit for us, but it's not the end. Thanks for all that you do. And so I have a couple takes on this. Number one, I think it was very poorly worded. I think that there was legitimate confusion. But I have another take on this that I do want to build out here that you might feel free to disagree with. I'm a 100% pro life, however, I do think that there are more people in Republican circles that are not as pro life as they might espouse publicly. That's not to say that they're totally pro choice. But I actually think that and I think it goes both ways, by the way. I think that there's some people that say there are a 100% pro choice that are actually more pro life than not. And this is only just from private conversations and from talks with people that some people start to get very, very nervous and they say, well, Charlie, what about this circumstance? What about that circumstance? It's done in private. It's not done publicly. And so that's not to say that it's a pro choice political party or anything, but I do think we have to lean in and do a much better job of explaining what does it actually mean to be pro life. And so I think there's a combination of things here. Very poorly worded ballot referendum. Churches that did not do their job, adequately based on people in Kansas, but I think that there is a private and soon to be realized whether or not I'm correct or not. Let's just say little bit of a hedge. In some Republican circles, that might not necessarily be on board for the pro life cause as much as it might seem.

So if you actually wanted to weaken Vladimir Putin, you would be doing the opposite of what we're doing. You know that the ruble is more is a stronger currency than it has been the last couple of years since the invasion. The petrodollar is stronger than ever before, Putin's popularity is higher than ever before, and they have more resolved domestically in Russia than ever before. What Is NATO?

"What is NATO? NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. NATO was formed post World War II, and it was formed with the idea of trying to hedge against the Soviet Union. Now there are some good reasons for that in the Soviet Union was an evil empire in more ways than one. Albeit, I don't think we're quite honest with some of our relationship with the Soviet Union. We did partner with the Soviet Union to defeat the Nazis. After that there was this mad dash of who will control Europe and NATO was formed. NATO has 30 member countries. These countries, Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, turkey, which I never quite understood. United Kingdom and the United States. These are 30 independent member countries. And there is what is called article 6. The article 5 article 6 of NATO, which is the mutual defense clause of NATO, which is an attack on one, is an attack on all.

Reports: FBI Knows More About Jan. 6 Bomber, Withholding Video

"A new report out that the FBI, this is from the gateway pundit, the FBI knows more about whoever planted the bombs outside of the RNC and DNC headquarters than they had previously led on. Anybody else find that odd that we have yet to know who actually planted those devices, especially since the whole thing was captured on camera. Anybody concerned about that? Now according to revolver news, the FBI is hiding security video footage of the January 6 pipe bomber planting the bombs. Congressman Jim Jordan sent a letter to the FBI director Chris wray in March. Regarding the investigation, according to that letter, now members of Congress are accusing the FBI FBI of withholding information. So why is it that the FBI doesn't want you to see the video footage of the suspect planting the bombs at the RNC and DNC? I have a theory about that. Is it possible that the reason why the FBI doesn't want you to see that video is because it was in fact the FBI that planted the bombs? Is that, is that a possibility? Why is it that the FBI has yet to explain how many of their agents, how many of their staffers were involved in the plotting and the execution of what happened on January 6th at the capitol building?

"To James Howard kunstler, also known as Jim, Jimmy Jimbo. Jimmy Jack. Jim reverend Jimmy. So we were just talking about rabbit ears. So yeah, so in the late 80s, early 90s, I got this job that I've started director of gravity, and I thought, who can I turn to who could write these stories? So you did just great work. And rabbit ears would, so we create this children's book, but then we get top Hollywood names to record them. I think the Davy Crockett was like Nicholas cage. And sacagawea, I don't remember who did that one. I'm pretty sure it was mom's maybelle. I'm almost, I'm almost certain that I don't. It was either mom's maybelle or Sinatra. Either one. One of those two. But then we would get amazing musicians. Garrison keeler. Yeah. Can you use his name now? Is it safe to say garrison? I think he wants his touched a woman's back. When they were taking a photo and he lost his career over that thing. Goodness. Marco Connor, the fabulous Marco Connor, did the music for that. It was quite a fantastic production of video. Well, that's the point is that the rabbit hair stuff was super accurate to one tons of awards. So I had the privilege of writing many of those. And my name is attached to these Grammy Awards for best children's recording 1989 or something like that. I think that one too. Yeah, I know. It's crazy. Where to Begin With James Howard Kunstler's Many Books?

"To James Howard kunstler. Jim, you were just talking about the long remedy. The long emergency. Now that's your book from 2005. Would that be the primer to read on what we're discussing if somebody is listening and they say, I don't get this. And the 2012 companion, which is called too much magic. Wishful thinking, technology and the fate of the nation. And what does that reference? Well, it's about what the response to the lung emergency is tending to be a kind of techno narcissism. This idea that technology is going to rescue us from this dynamic set of problems and quandaries that we face, the problem we face with our basic primary source energy supply, petroleum, the quandaries we face over the disorders of finance, the quandaries we face with farming and food production, geopolitics, these things are all related with the winding down of the global economy, which was our mode of operation. But you make 40 years. You make it sound inevitable. It is inevitable. And to me, I guess my question is whether when you talk about people acting crazy and you talk about it, a lot of these things to my mind, at least do have answers. And others, I think it's not like we just have to say, okay, everybody's going to be confused about how many sexes there are or whatever. We all know there are two. I mean, most people just know that. But we live in a world where the elites who have the microphones act as though. No, no, no, no, that was ten minutes ago. We all decided it's no longer true. You're not going to have any success with those arguments because those arguments are all a deflection of the greater question, which is how are we going to live in the decades ahead? How are we going to reorganize American life?

Mark Davis: The Left Likes to Marginalize Human Life

"Mark Davis made a great comparison this morning in Dallas. He said, the left likes to marginalize human life when it comes to the abortion debate, just like they did, just like Democrats did and, well, everybody did with slavery, but mostly Democrats. I mean, it has a lot of history points out, Jim Crow, slavery, the Democrat party construct. Republican president freed the slaves. But America dehumanized slaves. They were less than human. That's what they do with abortion. These babies are less than human. They don't really have the full rights of the baby's mother. And I, you know, I'm really surprised by this. I didn't realize that this was even going to be a close call in Kansas. It's been called a shocker, and here's the tough part about it. When you are sort of pitting political fortune against the preservation of human life, against the saving the rescuing of thousands, if not millions of unborn babies.

Is the Scandalous Biden Family Untouchable?

"The hearing when Christopher wray goes in front of the Senate? Is that Thursday? As did this Thursday, two days from now. To tell you the truth, I'm not holding my breath that he'll do anything other than what the FBI always does, which is to sell. We can't comment on an ongoing investigation. Yeah, I mean, I got to give the Biden's credit. They have a diversified portfolio of scandals. It's amazing. Every possible country region of the world industry walk of life, family member is involved in this. And so they are going to come under pressure from the Senate, but I think there is some cynicism, though, Miranda, that our audience has, and you've done a phenomenal job in your book, laptop from hell, which is how much is it actually going to take that just hold one of these people accountable? Or are we really in this moment where there's the untouchable class, regardless of how gross and disgusting and flagrant your crimes are, if your last name happens to be Biden or Clinton or Obama, you're largely untouchable. What are your thoughts on that? Well, look, I mean, I share some of that cynicism. And of course, the influence peddling racket that Joe Biden was the past master of is a bipartisan disease in Washington. It's really corrosive. Damaging as we can see now to our national security. And on the plus side, the Republicans telling me in the house in whether it's James coma, Jim Jordan, a whole lot of them are very rare doing a lot of work right now to get on top of the information. They're talking to witnesses. Whistleblowers are coming forward, they give them a car, it's told them to be aggressive when it comes to the Hunter Biden material. So they will be having hearings. They will be subpoenaing witnesses. They will have subpoena power in the house. I'm presuming they take back the house, which follows the show and they will. So that will at least bring more information to life. But

But you did a lot of the hard work in digging into the story as a whole, and it seems to be, you know, there's a lot there and I think there was always evidence of Biden family corruption. Given that we've now got some whistleblowers talking about what's going on in the FBI, do you think there will be any adverse action for anybody named Biden? Well, look, I think that's all up in the air. Certainly, you know, if there's polls show the Republicans take back at least the house, if not the Senate. Pelosi Trip to Taiwan Tests China’s Appetite for Confrontation

"By far the most powerful country in the world in military terms. Without any doubt. But with a home court advantage off China's coast, China has put massive resources into anti fit missiles interceptors and submarines precisely in order to be able to kill an American fleet in proximity to their coast. Their land army is terrible, peel of people's liberation armies, maybe the worst land army in the world. But their missile corps is excellent. And the studies from the air force and the Rand corporation and the office of net assessment, which I used to do some work for a Pentagon. Say that those missiles are extremely good. Now, you can argue about whether you contract moving the ship 800 miles off the coast if it's maneuvering. Can you really hit it well? The Ukrainians managed to sink the Russian flagship, the Moscow, hundred kilometers off their coast and at the Ukrainians can do it the Chinese who, after all, did put a space landing craft on The Dark Side of the Moon, probably could be able to do it. So the risk of a kinetic engagement against Chinese missiles and the possible loss of a carrier with 8000 American sailors and all of our prestige, as you say, is not a risk that we want to take. "Have a strong belief that we should do everything we can to convince the Chinese that they shouldn't do anything aggressive towards Taiwan and that our policy can include aggressive deterrence. I don't think they've managed to pull that off with the inability of The White House to articulate this position. But what if all right, now it appears she's going. It sounds like that she'll be there Tuesday night and the Chinese have literally threatened that if we fly military aircraft into there, they're going to do something about it. Are they blowing smoke or could this actually blow up? Well, I don't think they're going to shoot down in American military aircraft. But when Xi Jinping tells President Biden as he did, if you play with fire, you will get burned. That is language stronger than the Chinese have used at any time since we established diplomatic relations. Not since the Korean War have they said things like that. Remember, Xi Jinping is facing a tough contest for his third term as premier. He's got the 20th Congress of the Communist Party coming up in November. And after he's put his credibility on the line, there's no way he can back down and do nothing. So what I would expect is not a kinetic action on China's part. I think more likely would be a blockade, and they dare the United States to try to break the blockade. That's up to easy when Taiwan's 90 miles of the Chinese coast and they have the home court advantage. As the Chinese keep saying, they've got what about 1400 surface to ship missiles, and most experts certainly the Rand people, the air force, believe that the Chinese could sink pretty much any American ship within. 500 miles or more of their coast.

And I'm obviously I am a 100% believer that we can not allow Taiwan to be pushed around and we can't allow the Chinese to tell us where Americans can and can not go. But I am at a loss to figure out why right now Nancy Pelosi seemed to have a unilateral need to conduct foreign policy into Taiwan. Do you have any idea what she's actually up to? Well, the charitable view is that Pelosi wants to show the flag and tell voters that the Democrats really aren't soft in Taiwan. And a child, which, of course, the Republicans will attack the Biden administration for. The less charitable view is she's doing freelance diplomacy with the idea that we're going to show the flag and intimidate the Chinese and tell them that we're going to stand by Taiwan in a situation where we are not prepared militarily to defend it. Provocation from weakness is the opposite of peace through strength, which is what I believe in. And what she's doing, I think, is exceptionally dangerous and stupid. It's like the one that put us through the meek one hundred ten years ago before the whole thing which is up but then there's china and this is where i differ from most of the people you hear. This is widely regarded as a systemic. Chris that you can't be bullish about something that could create a contagion that reverberates throughout the whole world. China's the second oh china's second largest real estate developer is this company called ever grant and laverdure claps because it has three billion dollars in applications. Then it can't stop. It can't meet wall street's worried that evergreen grand will crush the banks that lent money and from there the pain will spread throughout the global financial system now countless commentators had described the situation as the chinese neiman brothers which means it can take down almost every day and i say even though expected to fail. That's not the case. I also believe that the contagion will be kept within china's borders remember. The peercy has a command economy in free market clothing whenever an enterprise. That's too big to fail. What communist party can determine how bad things really won't be. They had the power to decide who will feel the pain and who will come out on stage right now looking like their government rather let some were scofflaws get away with financial equivalent of murder. Then this whole edifice claps in prison. She has made a mistake here. But it's not the end of the world see in the end. The evergreen fiasco is well. It's bad news for american stocks. But i think it's market risk rather than systemic. Chris again market risk..

"Benefit both from the pandemic and from the groping. But i think i found one. And it's walt disney this company just reporting a smashing quarter tonight as the movie and theme park business start return to normal and their online streaming. Business came shortly better than expected. Frankly i'm born away by how great this quarter was but do not take it from me. Let's sink deeper with bob shape. He's the new. Ceo of the walt disney company fisher tape of welcome demand money. Hi jim how are you. I'm because of this quarter because it makes me happy. Because when dizzy does well we all do well. Eighteen months. you came in almost meal you had to deal with this pandemic across all businesses and yet you grew. You grew almost every line. This quarter how to do it. Well i think it's focusing on what makes disney different starts with our storytelling told by the world's greatest storytellers. We decided early on in the pandemic rather than put it in neutral and see what happens to step on the gas step on the gas on the two biggest initiatives that we have going on in the company was obviously are direct to consumer proposition with disney plus but also in our theme park business you know very rarely do we have to put up with a situation like a pandemic but rather than take just for the negatives and there were plenty of them because we had to shut most of our businesses down. We decided that we were going to go in and transform our theme park business really reexamined how we maximize the satisfaction of our guests and our park and at the same time uses opportunity to commercialize parts of the business. If frankly we've not been able to commercialize in the past so we're really proud of the hard work that our entire team has done here during the worst of times or ice above one things that did amaze me was it on your call. You actually said look. The reservations are strong. I've always felt. Reservations are great barometer of theme business. Which obviously you know more about than anybody how is it possible during the delta variant all the concerns hot spots in florida that the numbers are growing and getting stronger consumer trust jim. We have built up a history of consumer trust and confidence. When we opened up. Walt disney world back in the middle of the pandemic. There are a lot of doubters but through things like the nba experience that we had there and showed l. Everybody in the world that we could operate responsibly. in the midst of this pandemic and we've been operating walt disney world now for about a year. And we're very very proud. Of what our cass has been able to do and i think now that actually builds the brand builds the equity builds the trust that a family can't come to walt disney world and feel like they're responsibly. Being taken care of now. I wanna talk about safety for a second because you talk about the idea of the brand what it means. I understand that you have a very tough policy. Vaccinations we Frank last night. Ceo of norwegian cruise. He's being tough to. The governor is very critical of his view. How's it governor. Feel about your view in florida. Because frankly i'm hearing that you were being very very adamant about vaccinations. Well we believe that. Vaccinations are the key to mitigating the impact of this pandemic and you know we hear of disney. Don't control what the rest of the world does but we do have about a quarter of a million cast members that we'd love to see vaccinated. We think we owe it to them being in the public eye but we also it to our guests at the same time. We've got a tremendous relationship with the governor of florida and while we see the whole obligation to be vaccinated mask-wearing maybe a little bit differently He's given us degrees of freedom to do what we need to do. In order to protect our guest protect our cast and stay in business willing to fire people if they don't get vaccinated. Well we believe what would like to do is convince them that it's in everyone's best interest in order to get vaccinated for the greater good. Jim and the greater good includes our guest and again it goes back to that contract that we've got with our guests will operate responsibly. Fair enough now. We can't overlook the fact that disney plus was pretty amazing. Actually there have been some talk to maybe disney plus have been peaking to me. That's obviously not the case. You had talked earlier. Two hundred thirty two two hundred sixty million people by two thousand twenty four. I'm not saying that these lab. I am saying from the numbers that i see to me. It seems like you're on course. Well we're very confident in our sub trajectory and that really is a function as we said in our earnings extravaganza that we had last december that we were going to really double down on our content investment particularly across our powerhouse franchises. And we're doing that. We're starting to see. Those now began to trickle in to the pipeline and our confidence only continues to grow as at content now begins to permeate our services. And it's not just the global franchises. Jim it's also the local content that we're developing in each and every country. It's really going to be a powerhouse lineup. And that continues to build that price value proposition which hits the are arpaio. So we're really really happy with where we're headed. Average repairs are you did raise rates. It does not seem to have dented the science. Not at all our churn rate is down. Our retention rate is up. And we're still adding subs. So it's a perfect indication of that price value relationship for the guest. And i think it gives us more fuel for the future now. I was also surprised. One of my favorites is espn. Plus i am addicted fantasy football. You have to know you have to be on it. The the numbers growing here. I remember when the conversation with the ceo. It always be how come espn's way you down. Espn plus is way you up. Espn plus weighing up. And i believe our confidence is seeing through the indication of the rights deals that we've gone out and secured over the last few months. You know we're in pretty much every major sport. Jim and i think that says something about the confidence not only about the brand. Espn but more importantly espn plus. Because as you know each one of these deals.

"Cbc or tweet me. Act jim cramer. You know what. I'm sick and tired of people putting this whole rally on the fed every time. Stocks co what get megyn commentators. Come on air papers who easily explain it. The entire move is just an asset bubble engineered by the federal reserve easy money policies. Nothing and it'll be rolled back the moment the fed decides tighten. That's pure idiocy. We gotta stanford out tonight. The avenue all over the place today dow getting six hundred points. That'd be that declining point four nine percent people only growth when you get this big rally but let me make one thing crystal clear businesses good in this country. Thanks to a host of ridiculously positive forces. And it's not just the fed honestly even within the government the fed's not the most important part of the equation at the moment you've got retailers making forces from the child tax credit payments the banks benefiting the possibility of make more money with your deposits and the injuries winning big infrastructure. Bill that just passed the senate. These forces are people they were all this talk and nuts as about fig tapering or short-term interest rates. That's especially true for the bipartisan infrastructure. Bill which is now stalled the house representatives. But i think all become more. Perhaps sooner than you think. How significant is this legislation. I think we break form tonight and go straight to the source to the man who runs the largest steelmaker in america because he knows what this bill means. Better than anybody. Let's go to leon to topalian. He's the ceo of nucor to find out what the infrastructure packed verse company and for our entire country misses. The world comes back to money. Thank you jim. Nice to be here with you today. Okay this is a nice day from you. Corker stock led. The s&p was almost up. Ten percent as new core is uniquely involved with infrastructure. Can you please tell us the importance of this act and the importance of it to nucor you know. Today was a significant day for our nation. Jim seeing a bipartisan support in approval through the senate is such a huge step. And i would tell you my twenty five years in this industry. We are as close to having a meaningful infrastructure bill in this nation and his new courses it. Jim it's really through a lens of three things. It's about america's safety. America's competitiveness in the resurgence of american manufacturing. If we've learned anything through this pandemic it said. This nation must be a nation that makes builds things here in america and new chorus poised to benefit and help rebuild the crumbling infrastructure around our country. Now i know your predecessors always were building the whole time. I've even questioned your pet assessors saying you know what unless we get some sort of infrastructure. This is going to be for naught especially at the chinese to continue to steal in our in our country. Well look you guys were visionaries. The chinese stopped. We stopped them and the mills that you built last. They really play in this infrastructure. Bill very very closely. Don't they they. They play amazingly well and again. The investment strategy for a long time was to continue an invest in the down cycles to create higher highs and higher lows so the mills that are coming up online now or benefiting from that. We have an amazing team as you. Well know jim across new core and again poised to continue to help rebuild this country now some of the big areas roads and bridges power grid royale broadband water. Airports you can be in every one of those right absolutely we. We do the thing jim as you think. About the global impact of infrastructure who better to build and rebuild the infrastructure as well as the green economy than the most efficient steel producers in the world which is united states and again new cores. One of the many leaders of that movement today seventy percent of what. The united states makes from steel from recycled scrap. If you think about the rest of the world is about twenty. Seven percent in china is nine percent so we are the cleanest steelmakers on the planet and again poised and ready to go. And if you think about the investment china's making last year loan spent eight trillion dollars on infrastructure. We've got to stay competitive as a nation and we're gonna continue as a company to invest in our teams in growth and continue to build out new cores vision. Our country a great disservice to our american working people by allowing everybody dump steel. I think there is any chance that we repeal the tariffs. Allow them dump again because people are saying that steals gotten to expensive. Jim look at the end of the day to thirty two in the terrassa weren't implemented in two thousand eighteen. We're not going to be a long-term lever and so they're going to go away at some point would tell you if we think about the imports at hit our scores in two thousand fifteen sixteen spoke to nearly thirty percent in that time we only had about fifty cases that the industry at one against countries that dumped like china. Today there's one hundred ten. We are in a much better position to ensure the strength of the steel industry in american manufacturing is maintained. I keep trying to tell people when you see new courcelle at five point nine times earnings. That is wrong. Nucor is a growth stock. It is not a cyclical. And you're going to end up seeing multiple years of nucor stock going on. Is it not true sir that you've very few cyclical characteristics versus the other steals and the idea that your radio what bethlehem steel was trading before it went bankrupt is a pretty absurd valuation. I couldn't agree with you more and again as you. Well know bethlehem's no longer here. They went out of business and closed. You know. I think there are three things that are really important. That have changed the face of the industry over the last couple of years. Number one is trade that we talked about too is our consolidation in the industry has been significant. Three as rationalization. we've seen a much broader rationalization of steel products. That are being made and again. I think you're gonna see our industry That nucor leads continue to trade at higher multiples and we should. We should be trading it in much higher multiple than where we sit today and it's even close billion dollar. Acquisition it to me doesn't sound sickle cornerstone property. Absolutely we're excited about welcoming that team to our core family in the one billion dollar. Acquisition of cornerstone gives us a leadership position in the insulated metal pill medal painting business. That is going to continue to grow. It's not a cyclical nature like steel and. That's part of our mission. Statement is to be expand beyond using the strength of our balance sheet the amazing team to leverage the greatest of nucor into further downstream opportunities like cornerstone and. I don't know people understand when you build a plant..

"Begun some stocks a history breaking down after earnings and then make you come back but surviving. This breakdowns is tough. You know the pattern. Just look at what happened to take to interact to software which has been my favorite video game stock for think grand theft auto red dead redemption and host of other titles. Take his hat reporting good numbers. Because as gods so it's not unusual for the stock. You polacks during the ernie's churn up on monday night. Company delivered a sizable top and bottom line. Deep then management was opaque this forecasts carter quarter couple of major release got delayed then also. They left their full year outlook unchanged even though the numbers were considered pretty conservative when they issued in may so what happened of course the stock crushed quartz couple from one seventy three at monday's close to below fifty seven today however this is level where the stock has repeatedly been able to them before. So maybe it can make another comeback. Let's check in with strauss. Zeller the chairman. Ceo of take two interactive software to get a better in the quarter and what he sees going forward. Zelic welcome back. Thanks for having me. Jim distress before we talk about the things that have irritated people. Can we talk about the things that we're actually quite unimaginably good including the the actual beat in the first quarter twenty two right. We had seven hundred. Eleven million dollars of net bookings were still reiterating our guidance for three point two to three point. Three billion dollars in bookings for the year. I get our second best year. Ever given the context given the we expected that we would have very high demand and emmett consult more moderated demand host on her place. Now i want to just kind of touch on the conservatives versus not we know that a lot of people have said and all the other game comey said the same thing. Which is that you had when you have shelter in place you can have more game gaming but on page ten of the reflective version of the. Your conference call your. Cfo says that we expect a you. Expect to gte online to to be up versus last year. Red dead online's is difficult. Competence still expected to be up. So i'm trying to figure out those are big games and you're saying those are going to be up versus a shelter in place. So why should you be so conservative. Actually expecting to be over pretend art so this gola twenty and and there's no doubt that we will be we will be down moderator both titles versus last year but that was speculation. I think you and i discussed it at least twice while we talked about factor. Pretend demand was going to be much lower. Obviously pandemic van which was and post pandemic demand would be higher than before we've accelerated our business industries accelerated. However you should naturally it's back there won't be as high as people were fully sheltering all right but again but since we had this update we expect it to be up versus last year last year actually the year before this all that was not clear in the transcript right because well look. I don't want to be to get lost. But i'm basically saying is you know basically said you're going to do acts and you're doing better than and yet the stock act as if you were doing worse than ex and this is puzzling behavior to me. So i've got to try to figure out someone said to me. What's one of your favorite stocks at a dinner. I said last night. I said i liked and take to this. What happens to of their immersive. Titles were delayed. And what's in immersive title. I said well. Of course you could be like pga to k be nba two k. And it's personal. Which is strauss. I couldn't tell which immersive is is hurting and so again. I'm working okay. So it's a little complicated. But they're coming within the fiscal year. We expect that the install base of consoles would be hired considers that offset. And as you know. Jim you know it's always painful to delay title however it's the right thing to do you believe volatile be that much higher and that's what we play for replay for We try to be the most creative. The most innovative in the most efficient company in the space offer the no we succeeded that jailing fall short. But i believe i delayed these titles. A matter of months it gives us our best shot of delivering. Great success will. If that's the case again. I would say we'll rational. Investors would say why sell it now and then think you can buy back in time when you get them really. I mean that seems to be a silly hedge fund you well. That's been our history as you know as you said earlier in the attraction on the other hand as i never promote the i think the market sees it as it is. It's john to deliver. Sometimes we fall short. We're not falling short right now. We're on guidance. That great work alright. So again working backward feel what's going on economic information daily which i do not read a chinese publication did describe online gaming as spiritual opium could the fifty four million people who play nba two k. Be on spiritual opium in. That worries the pr see. It's it's complicated to comment on. Matters related to optics in any circumstance of our games were approved a partner in san sense. We work very closely with the government as required to our games. Continue to perform. And i feel confident that will be marketing will engaged caroline. Well look i. that's all. I needed to know that issue right now. I wanna talk about your acquisitions. Because i think acquisitions including one involving nordia you own your own soccer club. Now in this country i see. Nbc has the olympics. But i saw something that. I'd never thought i seen for says. There was a european series of games that basically captivated america isn't this in acquisition. That couldn't be surprisingly more positive than you. Left it in this in your release which made it sound like another thing we bought. We really never never over promote if we avoid it. We're really excited about sop eleven. We're really excited about having northeast and the top us. Two hundred and forty million registered users soccer's a beloved game and top. Eleven is the leading mobile sports. Soccer management care. So we're very well positioned and i'm convinced him to do great with that acquisition and there's more to come from that companies well but you have to understand and it's like rifle through every single thing to find out what i mean. I got recurring. Consumer spending declined. Twenty five percent. Alright but wait isn't going to be thirty percents. I'm struggling here strauss. I'm struggling. Because i think when i read the release i read it without looking at the mortgage okay. They won't like the immersive being laid but it's two games. Stock will be down five next week. It'll be up ten as not bouncing. So i'm trying to figure out whether you and i together are too happy to take. Well we never rest our laurels and i. It's not happy. I'm pretty satisfied person. Frankly and the problems. We face are high class however. We know that we can do better. That's what we aim to do every day. And i think our team never take six s for granted. We've had a great deal success. We.

"Twenty percent free cash flow yield and we are returning that to to shareholders We not only implemented the variable dividend concept where we have a fixed dividend plus the variable dividend. But we've also paid down year today already one point two billion of debt so Very very thoughtful in our in our approach business these days at the same time you have got some of the most premier properties in this country crack. That's correct you know the beauty about the merger between devon energy and w px energy which was actually closed in january. This year is only only six. Seven months ago is that we now have four hundred thousand acres in in the very best part of the delaware basin and unbelievably productive and it allows us to be very thoughtful in our investing and it generates a lot of free cash certainly We are invited basins and the evil for to south texas. The anadarko here. In oklahoma remember based out of wyoming and then the williston based of north dakota of gym or you and i spent some time as you mentioned early ten years ago and so all of our assets either have a growth component or more importantly free cash flow component. And so it's a it's a great of assets strong balance. She didn't allows us to do exactly what we've done with variable dividend concept. Now when i look at what you're doing i also see something is highly unusual. Seems like the price of your business of actually a well is coming down significantly. And i know that everyone is says. Come down over the last years but you make a lot of money per well we have. I mean we have wonderful team and you know Operations is something. I think is a real strength of our company and we. We operate break safely and efficiently. We've driven costs down and that as you mentioned In your introductory comments that that certainly set you up for several nice free cash flow generation and so we'll we'll continue to focus on that and we've got a very capable organization in can't be more pleased with a murderous is come together when i met you ten years ago. I thought the bachan was going to be. Could you told me it would be good but you gave me an image of a country. That actually had a lot more oil in it. And i've run with that for decade turned out to be probably the most right of anyone. Idell what do you think is the status now of the united states in well. Well i think we're in a really nice position. Jim be honest with you. If you're a call back to that conversation for ten years ago. I recall the look in your eyes when i mentioned that. North dakota was actually going to pass alaska in in production in that same unbeatable at the time but we just saw that the resources there and with the capabilities industry to to change the game. And that's happened. You fast forward. New mexico is now where we're at in the permian. Baseness is now the number two Crude oil producer in the nation. So on new mexico's even surpass north dakota and you know when you look at At the future. I think looks really strong. And we were convinced that Cleanest barrels will be produced here in the us. It not only on land at offshore here in the us. It really makes you feel good about the future of american oil and gas one question. You told me back then. Look we gotta be more careful that too much methane coming out. Not being careful not american. People don't want that. I didn't understand any of that at all. Obviously we're better now than where that where we are. And i use the analogy. Sometimes when you're in a growth period like we've been in the oil and gas sector. It's it's similar to a highway expansion or you're going to go from two lanes to four lanes vows. You just have to have to be patient and get the infrastructure out that construction line. And i think that's rat as an industry is very pleased. We still have some work to do. No doubt about it. We're going to continue to drive down emissions as as a sector and we are as a company and we've We've got some short term targets some some mid range targets and some long target. Long range targets of organ do here devon energy and feel good about the future. I also get excited about what we're doing with her. Allergy exports jim on gas and not only now Export crude oil also export natural gas. And that's going to replace some of the dirtier fuel sources that we see around the globe and that's that's a really good things when we're exporting eleven bc day from here in the us. We're exporting seven bs up to seventy today into mexico which is going to help our neighbor to the south in a huge way not only from an economic perspective but equally if not more importantly from an environmental perspective. It's a great story. I started feel. The oil was on invest one. Then people like you came through and said you know what we're going to get together and we'll be good citizens employer you ever. I want to thank rick monkey. If he's the presidency of devon energy to visionary in this industry. Thank you so much for coming on the show greg. Great talk to get like very much as always. Thank you stick around. I would stay with the lightning round is coming up next and then the lightning rounds ever. Are you ready scheme de drew images true. Jim question to you just came out with older kobes conferences. At home you know kids. Staying home. Jim cramer sometimes. It's mind-numbing it seems almost impossible to get a clear re on how the economy's actually doing too many distract me stores to shipping julie yet. You can't stop trying this today. With the dow dropped twenty four points the sba loss point four percent but the nasdaq advanced point. One three percent talk about confusion. Unfortunately little knowledge can be dangerous because there are a lot of false tells out there. I'm going to go over something general motors. yes general motors. Stop plenty of nearly nine percent today. If you're poor earnings late nag now looking at that you might assume jim had bad quarter. And what's bad. For of course is bad for america but when i spoke to mary bar the redoubtable ceo. I got quite a different picture. She says to manfred courses insanely great right now which is why dealer. Art the lowest levels. We've ever seen that does hurt sales by the way we done. It sell see supply. We've talked about this before on the show. There's a critical stemming doctor shortage and it doesn't help that important relationship foundry has visited by yes of course a covert outbreak. Last quarter was a fire. Another facility. In japan i spoke to the head of a large foundry lead even though they're going flat out demand for auto industrial chips which are also full feature chips. Not those high-performance chips that they have. Data centers is well excess of supply it. Gm can't get enough chips. They won't be able to make enough course. Which is why the stock is filing canvas. I think it represents real value here more importantly though for our purposes to divine the course of the economy. That's what i'm trying to get at here. The weakest stock tells you nothing absolutely nothing about the puerto economy. That's what we need to know about housing market punch above its weight. What can we do examined. I can't recall another time when things were the strong unconscious at the housing stocks. Reflect that strength by think stocks can be too low. The home building. Business is incredible. There's almost no supply lowest in twenty years. What again excellent sales. Don't tell the whole story. The chooses mortgage rates are abnormally absurd. We love making homes much more affordable than they would be otherwise why now the ten year treasury currently yields less than one point two percent many mortgage brokers are backed up to the hill to meet demand. "Worried should we be about quirks. This morning i of consumer products company reported a truly ugly quarter and the stock plunged nearly ten percent today rarely nearly all of its gains since the beginning of the pandemic one time is down more than any time since nineteen ninety nine. We knew crossword have rough quarter this time. They were up against some very tough comparisons because during the same period last year. The demand for cleaning products off charts. But we didn't know they post a massive top and bottom line miss or getting sales down ten percent rear earning more than sixty percent gross margin street in my nine hundred seventy basis points were management gave you a door outlook for the full fiscal year talking about furthermore erosion and a mid single digit sales decline. I saw little reason to buy the stock. It's not just difficult. Comparisons of course getting squeezed by higher raw material costs higher. Logistics costs higher manufacturing costs. Apparently inflation is giving him a tough time. That's rough still the stock your east. Some of its losses. The conference call. So maybe it's found a floor. That's what i wanna know. Maybe not that's why. We need coastal with linda rental this core ox who we commend for coming on the show in good times bed ready to welcome back to me money. Thanks for having me back. okay. I'm gonna go to what you said midway through your conference on your question to a windy. Nicholson you said what. We're seeing absolutely extraordinary environment. I hate to serve a little bit. But it's really the perfect storm. Describe what the perfect storm means to our viewers. I know. I think we should start with you. Four it's a great place to and put those results in perspective and then talk about what we're seeing in the cost environment. I if you look at q. Four we were laughing. Twenty two percent sales growth in the year ago. Quarter and we did expect sales to moderate in our cleaning business which it did but to a greater degree than we expected although it's significantly above where it was pre pandemic the rest of our businesses largely delivered. What we expect them to. I think what's important. Jim is taking a longer view. Not just looking at the quarter but the year and all four of our segments delivered sales growth in the year and if you look even further at a two year stack each of our segments deliver double digit sales growth in that time period. So if you think about the back the pandemic has had. Our brands have performed incredibly well during that time. And we believe were emerging as a much stronger company than we were pre pandemic and looking at those two. Your results really put in perspective on what you highlighted absolutely unprecedented cost environment and we're seeing that flow through and what happened in quarter four in the front half as lap twenty percent sales growth. And we're taking aggressive actions to manage that over the coming six months. Do wanna go back over about. We're you thought were in. The street was morgan stanley. Quick comment large fourth quarter per share miss guidance. Well below consensus jeffries. Guide is worse than feared j. P. morgan worse than feared barclays worse than feared. These are not the stuff of thought it was going to be bad. These are people who have been serious ainhoa student. I both know them for many many years. They feel bagged. What are we say to them. Yeah what we say is. This is a short term unpredictable environment and although we did our best to guess where we thought we landed on the quarter things are changing daily with the consumer and how they behave. The macro environment is changing. Certainly covetous changing as we watched unfortunately what's happening with delta and although we're providing the best visibility to we have at that it is continuing to be volatile so we did miss. But i think the important point jim is if you look at the fundamentals of our business. Our brands have never been stronger. We're investing in those brands. Investing for the long term and we have every confidence that will continue to increase and accelerate the profitable growth of the company over the long term. So you'll get your mosaic your businesses. You do not agree with borgen. Stanley says this quarter calls into question. The degree of strength of porks underlying business. You think that's just man is just not there gotta wrong absolutely not absolutely not i look at to your stack all in the double digits across every segment we have our highest superior customer value rating. That we ever have our household penetration. Strong are repeat rates have increased our market shares are growing and seven out of nine businesses. And we continue to expand those leads. Our business is fundamentally healthy with the consumer and most importantly jim exposed to greater tailwinds as we move forward health wellness and hygiene is not going away. The consumption of our cleaning business for examples twenty five percent higher than it was pre pandemic. People are doing more things to take care of themselves. They're drinking more water. They're staying at home more. Given the fact that there's hybrid work. Our portfolio will benefit from that and we are fully ready to take advantage of that in the future. What we need to get through. Is this next six months or taking all the necessary actions when it comes to cost-savings pricing to deal with margin but we're continuing to invest in our brands and what we see in the back. Half of our year is returning to the low end of ourselves and algorithm and beginning to expand gross margin and q. Four or one of the things that i always felt that your company's well ahead was in a e commerce but you committed a huge amount of money large unexpected five hundred million dollars investments over the next year for digital capabilities. Was i wrong in your company. Strength in digital absolutely you are correct l. We lead the way in digital marketing ecommerce and that has resulted in having our business nearly double in ecommerce over the last two years to thirteen percent. And we've learned through those digital investments that we have an opportunity to digitize the rest of clorox and this investment is not about the short term. This investment is about having a stronger company moving forward not just in the strategy period. But well beyond that and we're taking the time to do that. We believe so deeply and what we can deliver from a sales perspective and profitable growth. And we're taking the opportunity to double down on that with this investment. Why margaret conviction. I believe that one of those lines of business that you have. I'm not to call any particular one. Maybe just a lying. Too far i found. My conviction was somewhat chatter. Taylor and i want to believe i like the yield. I'd like what you've done. I like the fact that the company's got some fantastic brands. But then i say to myself okay. Something has gone awry here that you and i linda. We're we have to be puzzled. Be have to be puzzled by the so-called algorithm puzzled by. Why some of these brands. Which i don't expect to have wheat hidden valley ranch. Glad bags kingsford. We're all going outside. V burst peas. The only one. That really surprised me on the upside was the supplements which which i know you've gotten right at for tremendous amount of work and i think again we have to look at the longer. Run on this if you look at a quarter you're going to say that about those businesses but if you look at kingsford we are back in the seventy percent share range on that business. We've grown tremendously double digits. Every single quarter during the pandemic. This is lapping incredible growth and still elevated versus pre pandemic levels hidden valley. Ranch has grown shared twenty three out of twenty four and we continue to deliver strong results on that business so this is not a fundamental problem with our brands. This is a matter of lapping and incredible impact to our company and we are taking the environment very seriously and again taking those necessary actions. And you're going to see emerge even stronger coming out of this in the back. Cather twenty as much stock as you. Three percent yield a good balance sheet. Hey we're always prepared to put our money to work for shareholders as we have over the last year we're always evaluating that we have a very strong cash position and will continue to ensure that we balance that and as you know we've been deeply committed to the dividend for many years and we will continue. That focus will look. I want to believe their companies to the penalty box. Now you got any. Nobody wants that. We all want to see carax's strongest. we've learned for many many years when it was in fifty sixty seventies eighties. We've been with you the whole way. It is vital that this next quarter come through and then. I think that people say why did not buy clorox linda randall. Ceo course company. Thank you so much for coming on. Maitland thanks much. Jim spec gift and break stick around. I would stay with the lightning round is coming up next.

"We told everyone that we were changing. Our dividend payout target such that at the end of the year. We're going to look at our earnings and cutting them half our dividend payout target is fifty percent of earnings. So we're creating value by growing and returning our cash to our share owners. Take on that. It's pretty clear that you become one of the highest yielding companies in the entire s and p five hundred. Do you think people just kind of forgot that today. you know. i can't tell you what happens to the market on any one day. And you know we have a long term perspective on our business and our stock. Well should we be concerned that business to consumer volume decrease well. We're projecting voluble increase in the back half of the year. Not as much as what we saw in the first half because of the year over year comparisons but volumes can to grow. Remember jim we have different operating model than we did. In the past in the past we chased all volume regardless of whether or not we made money on that volume today. We're leaning into the heart of the small package market. That really values are end to end network. Were leaning into small and medium-sized businesses. For example. it's a very profitable business segment for us and loved what we saw in the second quarter one year ago. Snb volume made about eighty or volume made up about twenty two percent of our total. Now it makes up twenty seven per set so we are really happy to see our s. customers responding to the capabilities that we've been investing in them to make the experience simpler and faster..

"Seven for three CC or tweet me at Jim Cramer. Okay. Okay. So it was a little easy can only rally so much on the idea that the economy is slowing. So we don't need to worry much about fed. Do wonder we got slammed today. Dow plunging into to push pointless much worse at one point plumbing one point forty percent. Nasdaq nosediving one point nine one percent not much balance there. I mean, it selling companies can come out and say when they report, okay, we were doing pretty well until the fence screwed up. But if they get it, right? We'll be fine. No, it doesn't work get these companies have to extrapolate from what happened in the last quarter. And when you do that well things look pretty ugly because the question was so bad. It doesn't matter if the fed changes stance right after the quarter ended that picture well in rear view mirror. Stoltze hideous. Right. Bus companies loved the under promise in January. It's by machine we know in reality in rationality that about ninety percent of the SNP actually benefits from lower prices, so linkages surreal and shoot the programs are trying to measure the health of the global economy, and they used the price of crude to measure whenever there's a whiff of trade deal with China will rallies when a trade deal seems far off like today when we first heard reports that the US turned down an offer for prepare to trade talks, though, the president's chief economic adviser Larry cudlow came on air and said that's not true while oil gets trashed. Remember, the stock market hates the trade war without a trade deal. There's a widespread belief that the global com you'll continue to slow down, which is why oil got hitching, and we sell oil because you're worried about the global economy, then you should sell the SNP to see there are enough international companies. The average tech stocks to bring the whole index down which is exactly what happened today. Now, do you think US economy should be insulated from all this pain because they have such strong growth? Well, I've got some bad news for you. We keep being fooled by these employment numbers this morning. We got existing home sales for December. And they dropped a staggering six percent.
