Dallas Cowboys fire defensive coordinator Mike Nolan and defensive line coach Jim Tomsula

"Do have some breaking news on friday afternoon. The first friday after the dallas cowboys season ended an unfortunate start the new year for their staff. That dallas cowboys. Making some you know some obvious news in a bit of surprise news the dallas cowboys announcing that defensive coordinator. Mike nolan defensive. Line coach jim. Tom soula have been let go. Have been whatever you wanna call it fire to buy the team. They will not be back in two thousand and twenty one. Mike nolan obviously oversaw. One of the worst defenses to ever live ever played in the nfl. And so we'd heard. Rumblings obviously had been reported different instances over kind of the last month that it was likely he was not going to be back although mike nolan. If you're somehow unaware is is rather chummy with mike mccarthy dallas cowboys head coach mike mccarthy they go way back in case. You forgot mike. Nolan was the head coach of the san francisco. Forty niners in two thousand and five and mike mccarthy offensive corner at the time that was of course the year. The forty niners took alex smith with a number one overall pick. Ironically the quarterback that won the division that they were together here. This season with the dallas cowboys. Jim thome soula was a head coach of the forty niners at one point in time himself albeit for only a year obviously following in the footsteps of jim harbaugh who got an extension today of all days again with the university of michigan so lots of symmetry going on here and so. Yeah i mean my canola thing. I think everybody saw coming a mile away. The jim thome solo thing is a bit of a surprise austin on youtube. Says i thought it said mccarthy and was like whoa still good to get rid of nolan and this is how every cowboys fan feels. And let's be frank. Let's be honest. We don't enjoy talking about people losing their jobs. People getting fired or things like that but this defense was among the worst again in the history of this game. The dallas cowboys last week. With their season on the line against an offense that had been anemic for most of the season the new york giants that was incidentally again. You talk about all. The irony here led by former dallas cowboys head coach jason garrett in the giants offensive coordinator who again to go kind of crazy circle reportedly had an interview today on friday with the los angeles chargers for their head coaching vacancy. But the cowboys new york with their season on the line and they got run over. I mean the new york giants before last week against the cowboys. The previous four games. The giants had not scored more than three points in a single first half in each of the four games. The giants played before the cowboys. They went into the locker room at halftime with no more than three points. They put twenty up in the first half against the cowboys. And that was kind of what the season was for the cowboys right. This never ending display of imperfection this never ending run of records getting broken records getting set and i just you know this was inevitable. I mean shutout. Of course to the all encompassing thanos. I mean this truly was inevitable. Reality a lotta people myself. Included wondered what took so long this week. It's a pair at the mike mccarthy and his staff overall were evaluating things doing kind of the final walk throughs and assessments in whatever time just came for them to move

"Has reached the contract extension with the University of Michigan. Why is this important? There was AH lot of interest in Jim Harbaugh Bar, the former head coach of the San Francisco 40 Niners in NFL circles. Holly Effective. Ah, highly competitive team he got underway with out there in San Francisco in no time. So are his services wanted in the NFL are they needed and then in the NFL? Yes. So

"That love the heisman. Trophy and the chase for the heisman. Trevor lawrence is no longer the favorite to win it as you know. He missed last week's game against boston. College we'll be out this saturday when tigers play under the lights at notre dame alabama quarterback mack jones. You know the other signed when they had to move into. The role of heisman trophy favored that according to draft kings followed closely by the ohio. State quarterback justin fields at faneuil sportsbook. It is jones and fields. Who are the co phillips away. So trevor went from number one to number three because he missed a game due to covid plan. Better to write. And those guys will have opportunity to crew stats. When won't okay so that may be what that's all about all right to the nba. J. your expertise here. I want the sixers of officially named daryl morey is president of basketball operations. We kind of knew this last week. It is now official over the weekend. They also announced general manager. Elton brand is signed a multi year contract extension. Your thoughts look there. Oh maury is the right. Move for organization nola speculated by saying how does daryl morey bring james harden in a straight up trade with ben simmons to philadelphia because joel embiid and james hardie could be great together but i i say this overall there are more wool. Surround this team with the right answer. Larry pieces to help them get out of the east. I'm not saying it's going to happen this year. But he is the guy you want to be in control with. Doc rivers after thirteen years in houston rockets had made the playoffs. Eight straight years the longest streak in current nba times. And lastly the new york jets traded linebacker avery williamson to the pittsburgh steelers on sunday night. The only reason we mentioned this is i mean how about being avery williamson right now. Going for the league's only team. That doesn't have a win going to the team the league. That doesn't have a loss. We should mention the nfl's trade deadline tomorrow four pm eastern a lot of big names percolating. Who could be moved again. It feel good. I can tell you that to go from that situation. Is jamal adams. Thank you just picked up seven whizzy like oh good and possibly a super bowl trip. We'll see from owen seventy seven and oso. He'll be a member of the steelers. The next time this beyond bill sar and levi's like we're all getting out of your team that can win a championship. No doubt if it's pittsburgh seattle or kansas city three guys. We mentioned those are pretty good on land. Exa- jamal adams. Who did not play last week. Did practice last week. He hasn't played since week three. We'll see i'm sure. He's waking up in seattle feeling a lot better than in florida. Park whatever's going on with him. All right so i mentioned the steelers year getting avery williamson face the browns again in week. Seventeen final regular season week. The all divisional week as we know here in the nfl. Obviously the browns are going to be playing that game every game up until that point without odell beckham junior key. The early returns yesterday on life without. Ob j. for anybody that thought that was the case they might want to eat their words at this point. Well i thought it would. That baker mayfield would be better better as a quarterback not that they can win without. Ob j just wanted to see him evolve at the qb position and clearly. It didn't happen that way. I thought he would go through his reads as progressions. He wouldn't block on the one guy. It didn't turn out the way you know. It was a factor whether in you can do all of those sorts of things. The raiders don't here they got out of here with a w in baker mayfield is having to answer questions today and tomorrow about his lackluster play. There was a few times in there where he made some good throws at the receivers income down with the ball but then there was other times where the ball was dribbling at their feet. So you know you just you look at it for what it's worth they. They're still in it for wild card berth. They shouldn't take this and you know be mad at the situation. They should just look at it and say we gotta get better. It was ugly game to watch terrible weather like watching the weather. Just i mean watching their car. Get some completions. Baker struggle a little bit jarvis. Landry literally had the ball in his hands for. Td didn't work out. It's like those game within the margins that you feel like you wish baker mayfield would a one But at the same time. I give a lot of credit to the raiders as key said earlier in our show look. They found a way to win a game and bad weather. I just i don't. I don't take away anything that game being like all right like it's over it's i never. I didn't think anybody expected this team. The better without oh. Bj don't think anybody. I mean for people that are run with that narrative. Kion no. You didn't say that you thought he would make his progressions better and they're not going to be better with. I'll be ob obgyn. Gotta be a damn fool. Doesn't ain't doesn't work like that. I just talked to quarterback would have played better. Because he's not locked on to someone that he trusts and he believes in. And what happens with quarterbacks just like if he was playing point guard and push the ball up the court you feel comfortable kicking to certain people in the corner oppose other guys you like. Well i see him. I'm gonna kick him know he's gonna knock down the three baker mayfield. It's a quarterback. Spot feels comfortable locking on thirteen. But what the progress would him has being. He stayed on thirteen instead of getting off of him. When it's not there kilometer cisco cut then being not division did you do. It's kind of like the dallas cowboys because like you always pay attention to the names. The sexiness of the people the personnel did you. Was it more. Hey i like this team because of their potential instead of saying i know this team is going to be in the thick of it. No i like them. Because of both i picked them actually to win the division as weird as that may sound. Because i didn't know what being was going to be like coming back offer surgery. and lamar. Just lamar was going to have a good season but in the end sometimes your sophomore call him his sophomore season because he didn't really play even though he led them to the playoffs freshman year's first year. I give this this year his sophomore year because he didn't have a full year. I thought the baltimore would be you know. Still good but not running. Away with the who've baker mayfield had a streak of ten straight games. The passing touchdown snapped proof that he is indeed. As fella said not better without.

"Sweeney's comments the other day. That trevor lawrence won't be playing against notre dame this coming weekend good question jay and i'm still not sure i know what's behind that because it seemed like it changed pretty dramatically then when we were all together friday morning i'm guessing that somewhere in the protocol it just seemed like it was going to be extended a little bit deeper than we originally thought or perhaps beyond the saturday. Debbie mentioned the heart issue where which means that He has to. Trevor has to take a test for mile card ideas. But that's that's a ten minute test. That shouldn't keep him out of the game. Unless unless unless we don't have the dates right or maybe there's something else going on the school and trevor lawrence collectively just decided. It's not worth risking getting him in getting him out of that protocol with five minutes to spare and put him in a game at south ben without having done anything but isolate or self isolate for the last ten days paul we saw clemson take on this past weekend and kind of you know it was a win but it was a struggle win. What do they need to do going. Notre dame to get that w. went out the heisman hopeful. Well they're shaper quarterback but their defense looked terrible in the first half of this could be keyshawn that clemson always has this game and this is not an excuse. This is this is a fact remember. Last year at north carolina they needed to hold off mag browns team. On a two point conversion three years ago it was syracuse to knock them off for years ago. They had to do the hold off. Nc state at the end of the game they always manage to play a terrible game. And i think that's what we saw this weekend. And i'm sure the trevor news overshadow them but i think they're in good shape for for saturday night and i don't. I'm with college football today. Predicting a winner on monday is foolhardy. Because you just don't know who is going to be around to play in the game. But i think they have a reasonably good chance of getting out of there. You have a heisman. Vote was played. Incredible these last couple of games. Uh trevor lawrence missing at least two games. This season with the covert issue is. Justin feels squeezed his way into the heisman conversation. If you're doing snapshot he's probably the leader right now. And and i might throw mack jones in their from alabama. But i always argue. I'm just one voter ironically here before election day but this this ballot doesn't need to be this ballad doesn't need to be cast until i think it's december twentieth so i i think anyone who's getting too hung up on what you're seeing week to week is not doing their their responsibility justice. I think you have to wait it out. I think it's unlikely. But maybe someone could emerge from the pack twelve that we haven't thought about yes. They are coming back this week. I'm just giving. This is my day to be nice nicer. The pac twelve key. But i know that though and i think he just but justin fields has not missed anything. I mean his his first two games. He has played flawlessly. Voter driving it in or you mellon get in. How are you getting it. Yeah i've got a. I've got a dropbox here in my neighborhood that i go through and drop it off. I don't trust the. Us mail do you guys. We have to go to break paul. It's heisman you guys you know. I don't want people to get complete going for those who are wondering. I'm just kidding here. The you vote the heisman voters done electronically so you you email it right. No hanging chads. We don't need to go back to two thousand paul dickson in north carolina which is a critical state tomorrow. Paul thank you very much really appreciate couple quick notes. If you want to see. luke fickle. He mentioned luke fickle. You can see cincinnati against houston three thirty eastern saturday on espn and there is a small group of people that would love to see harbaugh. Get a contract extension. Of course they live in columbus state college and he. St paul finebaum brought to you by dr pepper. The dr pepper heating up. So is your favorite. Dr pepper loving college. Football town fans ville head to a store near you. Treat your inner college. Football fan. Do ice cold. Twenty ounce dr pepper. Today his pulse said at the beginning. Michigan state was more driven than michigan on saturday. More driven brought to you by goodyear. Helping you discover the road ahead. Goodyear more driven still to come the brown certainly not more driven without obgyn. So what does it mean the rest of the way for baker. We'll dig into that from the moment they're born. You do everything to keep your kids safe. But who's looking out for you as you look out for them. The volvo xc ninety suv with advanced safety. Technology helps look after you from the standard blind spot information system that watches your sides can steer.

"Tv show called asia's enough your pat span after watching what happened in week eight. You might say it's enough cam. Newton struggling again he. The pats are two and five brady and the bucks or five and two. We'll see him tonight on monday night. Football much more on that in ten minutes the divergent paths. These two teams have taken bella check and brady first impressions of cam fumbling and then fumbling away a chance to win you. Know he played okay. He had them in the game. And then any and much like you mentioned the fumble. A great defensive. Play camp should know better. There's gonna be some people chasing him from by. He needs to take their football and remove it away from his body on the right side. Put it in his left arm. Closer to the sideline with pursuit. All coming from the inside angle. And he just didn't he didn't switch the football out of hope that he would have switched it. Put it on his left arm instead of his right. He fumbled there. You know it just. It's been a tough year for him. It's just been it's been a tough year. Do i think that he is still could potentially be a good quarterback in this league. Yes yeah he. Can you just things like that. Just keep happening to him. It was like a like a snowball effect and laid bat. The last two games. And then all of a sudden this particular situation at the end. When i was like okay. I'm cheering it. On as if i'm a pats fan because i want to see him actually do well and bounce back after those two losses a couple of weeks ago. Can we. Just call it for where it is. Time to rebuild. Its it's rebuild. Does it not key. It might be it. Might be time for to rebuild it. No it's not like of course time for them to campaigns who was the who was camped camp on the ball to nobody. He four drafted agents that he was throwing the ball to who to pieces around him and there are no pieces so people were talking about bill belichick and making operation decisions as far as personnel. Yes he has to a better job of doing that. But the same has been on top of glory for a very very long time. How they now. It's okay to say that cisco towards rebuilding now he's hit on personnel decisions in the past. He's missed on some and he's also like every go through everyone's record write some of the greatest general managers this ever done this thing in. They've failed in certain situations ozzie. Newsome miss the great ones. I mean he hit on tom brady. Okay let's start there. That's just one massive win. But richard seymour. He hit so many that he hit on in salat that he hasn't hit on. That's what i'm thinking. I'm taking a different approach here. I'm not casting doubt. I'm not saying hey cam's not the answer. Also young go to jail throughout the whole season. No stick with cam but like this piece. I know it's hard for us to be patient and win yesterday type of society. I know we're constantly going to have a debate about tom. Brady's winning without bill bell check his ways aren't the right ways. But dan don't we don't they deserve some patients hasn't bill bell check giving us enough to say let's be somewhat patient racially for wet though. J just didn't have a rebuild year but this but but it's pretty much. It's pretty much as far as a playoffs. Go now you just start to see what players can come back and be a part of what you're doing and twenty twenty one is cam going to be a part of that. Are you seeing enough of cam. Newton over the next eight to nine weeks that you say you know what we're willing to bring him back because we're going to put some other pieces around him to make the team better or you just hitting the detonator and just completely blowing everything up. Start from scratch. you need fifty three new bodies. But that's what i'm talking about. You're telling me how they rebuild. What i'm saying is changing the way people look at the pats by saying this team is not a contender for eight east. I know there's still in the mix. Mathematically they pretty much but this is not that much toast is not that team zubin. So yeah let's now start talking about how they rebuild and what pieces. They need to start building around that needs to be the narrative following the past. Well here's one. Stefan gilmore could be on the move potentially as a draft pick. It could probably get high one for him. And that's what you start. Whatever other picks that they have. And i think check smart enough to know that between salary cap issues in draft pick issues and not hitting on some key players that there that they drafted in particular to kill harry a receiver. That was supposed to be there to help. Both quarterbacks and tom brady a year ago as well as cam newness year. Yeah nothing out of that. You great point about the salary cap over the weekend bill. Bell doesn't give me any radio interviews and when he gives radio interviews. He's not particularly great unless he was on with us on day. One keyshawn made that happen but for the most part he doesn't say very much on sirius. Xm radio this weekend at essentially said look the salary. Cap is preventing me from getting the players. That i want and i'm really never heard bill. Belichick jobs go deep on anything like this or even given excuse for anything. They've always been an excuse for your organization but it was notable he said that indicates point with gilmore look. This is one of the five most trusted or talented or both players. In the history of the bell check era. He could be treated the nfl trade deadline tomorrow. Four p m eastern time on the other side of. This is josh allen who got his first win against the pats and we're asking the keyshawn will zubin nation this morning. Who do you trust. More to win in the playoffs. Josh allen who's been but has never won a game or lamar. Jackson sounds ridiculous considering the latter unanimous. Mvp but fifty point nine percent of you have said by a whisker josh allen including at d. g. twenty eight hitting hitting us up on the dr pepper twitter feed this is from twenty eight. Josh allen can play from a negative script lamar or just the ravens. General can't essentially accentuating the point. Fellas that the ravens went down ten just double digits in the lamar jackson. Era have never rallied to win a game yet. But that's based on how they're built right there built a certain way and they don't have the necessary weapons on the perimeter to allow him to come from behind. There's not guys that you know. Big time receivers so to speak. That can go up and get a high ball..

Big Ten and Pac-12 Postpone College Football Season

"The big ten in the pack twelve are thinking they may scuttle their football seasons. Now, this was leaked yesterday by Dan Patrick. and. It is. Dan Patrick. On his morning radio show said that the big ten and the PAC twelve working together they were going to cancel their football seasons. The vote was twelve to two Nebraska and I think Michigan. Where the two that wanted to continue plane? No one else wanted to continue plane Jim Harbaugh of Michigan is really upset about it and they're pushing very hard to change this. Pete Ricketts. The governor of Nebraska, is openly calling for them to reject the idea been SAS. The senator from Nebraska is also calling on them to walk this back to not do this. The SEC met yesterday in an unplanned meeting, the SEC Commissioner in in President Se schools met yesterday, and they've decided to take a go-slow wait and see how it plays out approach harbaugh. For his his credit in Michigan has pointed out that the players on the football teams are actually more a safer than the other kids on campus the protocols they put in

Paul Finebaum reacts to Michigan president's comments

"Was some very important news yesterday. Out of the University of Michigan where the President Dr Mark Schuessel? Who has an immunologist by training? Not The most common thing you see for a president a State University made a lot of news by tapping down some of the positivie about college football talking about how there would be no college football unless students were on campus. He referred to his training as a medical doctor. Phd In relation to doubting seriously that there could be college football fans in the stadiums and they also broke down the importance of college football but in the context of the University of Michigan overall. Dowse a little water on that as well saying that the university stand on its own. This comes in some contrast to what Jim told us last week on on get up when he said he would be okay with football. As long as he didn't he said he would. He would prefer fans but it would be okay without fans who better to talk to you than Giannis. Bacon was written callous books on the University of Michigan and certainly among the very leading experts in the world the on that subject John. Thank you Happy Memorial Day and first of all great to have you on with us and we hope you've been safe and well over these last couple of months Always a pleasure Paul and so far so good. The only we need is forty hours of daycare for weeks. My four and a half year old kid if you've got a babysitter send them up For All you've done for us I'll I'll give you some good recommendations Thank you. Let's talk about the this. I thought was a really fascinating comment first of all. Let's talk about President Schnitzel in terms of who is he what his credentials are then. They're incredible but have someone like that. Move into the presidency at school at the University of Michigan. Well his background is Brown University And California cal Berkeley so the pedigree and all that he's got a PhD in some former science probably immunology say as well as an MD. So you couldn't call them stupid He's probably also not the biggest football fan in the world. I think he probably loves the Brown model. Where you play. But it's not Nearly the importance as it is in the big ten or the SEC and so on But also knows where he is that Hundred Thousand People Disagree and they love it quite a bit so he is definitely on a high wire there But clearly his roles immunologist took over in his latest. Talk as you said if you days ago and I guess yesterday sorry And Yeah you say is very clear about this that if all the students aren't on campus. We're not going to have intercollegiate sports of any sort at least at Michigan which is not to say the big ten goes along with that or the rest of college athletics. But it's pretty hard back back down from that once you've said that and as you pointed out Paul that goes counter to what Jim Harbaugh said a few days earlier that he'll take football and almost any form Fans in the stands or not. Some graduated schedule some sort of Not Black or white but Modified approach would be fine with Jim. Which I'm sure is almost all major college football coach so I see a conflict there and I'm pretty sure I know who's going to win it. Yeah I mean there may be some school football coaches that have the clout to go head to head with the president. I doubt Jim Harbaugh wants to do that. Unless it's twenty minutes after beating. Ohio state I I I WANNA ask you. I WanNa ask you about about his comments about the budget. You know the school inside and now obviously I mean. I don't want to translate for him but he seemed to be saying that you know we we would this football but we're going on with or without it. Yeah and Miskin can right now Now the catch that is not all the big ten can goes out football Sunday. The MAC you can't. I mean look at Eastern Michigan Kent State places like that Miami of Ohio so the separation between haves and have-nots stronger not weaker. Now its biggest. Cost Ball is of course nationwide and gets all the attention at Michigan. The budget for the entire Athletic Department is around one hundred and eighty five million dollars which is almost doubled in ten years which says something right there and yet the budget for the whole university assist seven billion with a B. dollars so and half of that as a medical school on the health system so the football budget is big. It might beat us That's what they spend on rubber gloves at the hospital. So it's not that big a deal to the president. John you have a pretty good pulse on the The Michigan Fan base. I asked gently what has been the reaction about what the president said yesterday. Some folks feel yeah. Maybe there's mixed generous maybe it is It is going to be hard to argue though without students on campus having football. You're talking about exploiting the students who are in your student athletes who are not paid etc. I was become a hot button. Issue the last few years as it always should be I think That becomes greater when you're perhaps risking their health When you're not risking the other students health To play football. So that's one point of view. The flip side of course is that stadium is both the hold one hundred ten thousand people and if not for nothing of course so obviously people wanNA play football In any way she performed they possibly can Go Back Paul and nineteen eighteen when Michigan played the first game during the pandemic early October. And it flared up nationwide thereafter so they did not play again until November The team went five that your politics and on the big ten which counts as big ten champs and yes five Cowan as national champs. If only if only we're talking to John Bacon The New York Times bestselling author. He's written countless books on the University of Michigan. I WanNa take a break here because there are many issues beyond what the Michigan President feels. Although his comments probably going to be heard pretty loudly and other ivory towers around the country. I WanNa talk to John when we come back about what college football faces in trying to open up more comments from the esteemed author John U

"And one season a forty two twelve win in the Orange Bowl against Virginia Tech. Then he went to the National Football League spent four seasons as the head coach of the San Francisco. Forty niners where he had. Instant success led the niners to a super bowl appearance in just his second year with the team and was one play away from winning that Super Bowl losing ultimately brother John and Baltimore and then he went back to Michigan. Harbaugh has been there as the head coach for the last five years. He's won ten games in three of those seasons as a winning record every year at Ann Arbor and is always one of the most interesting people in sports to talk to. I'm delighted to welcome. Jim Harbaugh the coach of Michigan. Who is with us on the phone this morning and Jim? Thank you for doing this. And I've tried to get as many college coaches on as they can. During this time to figure out how we're all handling the situation and you in particular you found such creative ways to build camaraderie with your teams traveled to Rome. I remember Paris I believe. How are you connecting with your team? During this time of social distancing virtually right now with virtual workouts virtual meetings and Staying in touch by phone so That's how we've been doing it. And and We'll see hopefully we can get the guys back together And get them working out. As soon as the gym's open up you feel like you can get back into the facility at least on a voluntary basis and and I sure miss him. I can tell you that. I'm sure I'm sure they miss being around each other more than anything else. What kinds of questions? These are young people in a circumstance where no one has the answers. What kind of questions are you hearing from your players during this? We're GONNA come back. We're a When they start Training we can We can they? Are we GONNA play You know those those are the big ones You know right off the bat and and You know hopefully. Hopefully we'll get some better news as the as the summer goes on here and and You know as far as the season I mean You know everybody's preparing like there's going to be one you know not even thinking nineteen thinking in the way that there wouldn't so getting getting ourselves ready you know that Getting prepared I wonder how much concern for their safety and health. You hearing from the players because I I can tell you I. I have two kids that are about that age. Neither of them are football players. But I don't I don't sense a lot of concern about that. That they feel they feel bound up. They feel like they're dining back to being with their friends and being in their lives and being their environments and they have very little concern about safety and health. I wonder if that's what you're hearing from your players. I wouldn't say very little. No I mean I think You know there's there's definitely questions about that you know what Is there going to be is? They're GONNA be testing. And you know what kind of protocols we're going to be in place and and that's So we explained you know one. It'll be a different different new normals. Whatever says where you got some social distancing you working out in smaller groups You know that's that's That's Kinda the the approach. I wouldn't say that they have very little concern about it. You know they're they're concerned about and so are the parents you know so you know we're we're We're talking to him talking to you. Know find not every day but you know. Look at least two three two three times a week. We we had a a sound bite that we played earlier this morning from a player on the browns. Jc trader who is the President of the Players Association the NFL and he said look. This is a contact disease. And football is a contact sport. A social distancing and football really. Don't go together so it seems invariably seems inevitable. Jim that if you are able to come back and play even just practicing that things are going to happen. How prepared do you feel your program is your general? Everyone is for the possibilities that will come at. It feels inevitably will come when the players get back together. That's that's a good question how I mean. How prepared are yeah? You're going through a lot a lot of different scenarios and learning more all the time too so People people you know with the practices of you know saying stay safe and and can you get a an entire team together coaches players trainers strength staff etc You know that That can not have symptoms or not test. Positive you know be And then and then play football can you? Can you have a game where you Were both sides. Both both teams or are coaches officials Trainers everybody involved and You know if if you don't test positive in you don't have it can you? Can you still play still play the game? I think that's the The question that's on everybody's mind and and thinking that Thinking that you could do that. You know that you could do that. We'll have obviously seen Jim. You played played at Michigan. You Coach at Michigan. You Plan to stadium called the Big House. It's one of the most famous football stadiums in the world holds one hundred thousand people Would you be comfortable playing games in front of no fans? If that's what it comes to. Where do you stand on the idea of playing games? If the fans can't be in the stadiums but there there there you go right I mean you you could definitely protest both teams. You could test the officials and everybody. Can you have two hundred thousand fans coming into a stadium? Probably not you know that's probably not Without a without any pride couldn't do that so yeah dance your question. Heck yeah it'd be comfortable Coaching a game without any fans You know if if the choice were play or In front of no fans or not play then I would. I would choose Play in front of no fancy and I think most of the most of the Barnier every guy. I've talked to on our team. That's the way they feel about it. I almost every coach that we've spoken to has felt that way as well. I do want to ask you about one other thing because you brought it up. The conversation of amateurism is so relevant right now and you wrote an open letter with a plan to change the way. Athletes could consider the draft and it was very interesting to hear. Why is that so important to you right now? You know time to think about things that have been been on my mind for a few years and just spent thirty years since we had a the rule winning the place. You have to be three years removed from high school before you can be drafted. Football's really the only sport where where you had that. That kind of rule The proposal really is that you could be drafted before your or your placing your junior year in college. But it's got another piece to it too. Which is that. If you don't get drafted then you can still come back to college. Football with eligibility and play and then The third part of it is that once a what's a player finishes his pro career that he can come back to college as a student and finish up his degree at the expense of the university. So you know putting the players in a position where they can. They can have a shot at a college career. They can have their shot at a pro career if they're good enough and ultimately in the most important thing is that they're going to get their degree either way so that Why why do it really just create discussion greeting You know have people way in and and it's a time where we can do that right now we've got people People have the time to think about some bigger issues that help to up to student athletes and ultimately I can help our game afford. It's worth I completely agreed with everything. Every point you made in the letter and I hope that it does get some traction right before I let you go. I have someone who is is to say hello to you. Go ahead Jalen. Rose say hello to your coat coat. Good Morning Dana Roles are love you. I appreciate you. Hope you and your family are safe during this unique time. I know we're going to beat Ohio state this year so I'm not going to ask you about that. Would I will ask you is. "You put this video up there at the end of this video Phil Jackson looking at digging in his no look can fill out there like that. They dig it in his nose. Green okay so depicted picked it badly in the documentary also but but let let let me let me let me add to what J. We'll just said okay. Scotty Pippin is one of the fifty greatest players of all time. He was absolutely integral to Michael Jordan winning any championships Muslims. All six the five things you took out of last dance about Scotty were the migraine. The fact that he barely played in the last game the Jordan one because he had a problem with his back the one point seven seconds the fact that he missed the beginning of the last season because he chose to have the surgery at that time and and the foul shots that he missed at the end of that game gets you in Indiana. They showed you all of that in great detail. And they showed you almost none of the brilliance and important role. That Scottie Pippen was to me. That's not a coincidence. That was Michael Jordan's vision of it for better or for worse. I agree with you I. I'm a person and again I was in the league. This was happening. I remember thinking man. That's messed up there. Michael Jordan thirty five million dollars to play basketball is Scottie. Pippen getting paid three million dollars. I was saying that then I agree with you. I feel bad with how Scottie. Pippen was portrayed in this but you left actually one of the most important things how he was so unhappy with the organization that Berated Jerry Krause frequently that also was exposed in documentary. Something that we we now know. We didn't intimately know how it was happening. And so yes again. It brings up feelings but Jay. I'm going to have to say something else also. I'M A bestselling author. I wrote a book. You also wrote a book. I'm pretty sure that their characters in both of our books that probably are unhappy with how we portrayed them in the book. That's the same for any book. That's the same for any documentary is going to happen. I'm just saying that I realize that. Mj Pill is cool. As I thought they were. That's what disappoints me. Go Ahead J. Clinic can just say one last thing so you know when we get into these conversations about greatest of all time I hear what people say I understand like the skillset in record speak for itself but when I understand you can't make everybody happy right. You're never going to win over everybody but like seeing that relationship seeing how other teammates retreated winning at all costs if it means. I HAVE TO FORFEIT RELATIONSHIPS WITH TEAMMATES. That have helped me ultimately win six championships. I don't want that. I don't want those costs. And that's why this conversation is subjective. Not you say greatest can compartmentalize skillset. But it's everything that encompasses around that. And when I see that relationship between PIP and I've seen PIP. Say ANYTHING ABOUT IT. And he's portrayed that way. I don't want to win it costs in my life. Greenie. That's how I choose live. It may be different than what other people choose. That's how that's how I look at. What greatest of all time. It's all encompassing. Is Everything Jalen? Well well regardless of what we say. Jordan is the greatest of all time now as it relates to the relationships with pimp in Horace Grant again as a fellow NBA player. I hate to see you have no teammates. I I hate those. Three gentlemen are in accord. But let's not act like though six times. That Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to the championship. The each of those individuals didn't benefit in their own right whether his name. I might say stadium appearance whether it's contracts whether it's counting rings whether it's all of the things that come associated with greatness in championships I.

Proposed federal law seeks to limit skyrocketing salaries of college coaches

"Well anyway. I I call one of your stories. He's just week. We're talking about salaries and congress trying to put a cap on things and you. Did I think a an amazing. I don't know how you doug all this up. A deep dive live into the evolution of coaching salaries. Take us through that process. Yeah I one of the one of the most interesting thing about college. Football is how in twenty twenty I guess in our in our myopic nature point twenty we think that we all have these like little arguments novel discussion Russia. We've been doing this thing for one hundred fifty years at this point in time there are quite a bit of things that just are not new and some of that is complaining about too many bowl games but another one of those things is talking about how coaching salaries are way too high. I mean it's it's it has quite literally almost almost always been like this. I mean Amos Alonzo Stagg at Chicago making six thousand dollars in eighteen eighteen ninety two now I went back and use the consumer price report and price some of these salaries out in you know twenty eighteen at the time buying power. And you know. That's six thousand dollars. Amazon does stag was making then was worth like a hundred and sixty thousand dollars back in eighteen. Ninety two there has always been this separation between what highly paid college. Football coaches made Versus what the Common Man Colombian mix. You know I'll I'll bring it to your audience and hit them home like bear Bryant when he's doing. Brian show that that famous Sunday highlight show That that became formative so formative for a lot of Alabama fans. He wasn't doing that just out of the good report he was because he was getting paid there Bryan getting in pay. That's why I thought he. I thought you said he was a benevolent. So I believe you remember this because you weren't born but he also had to Eat the potato chips and drink cocoa which by the way had bourbon in it. Yes absolutely I mean like bear. Bryant was Bear Bryant was cheering the back right now. Yeah so I find it amazing we we. We had a professor on earlier who who was very much a part of the Donna? Shalala Team Wanting to limit coaching Ching salaries so When did they make the big turn? When did they start going? I mean as as some of the critics say out of control to me. It really doesn't matter what any of these guys make but TAKE A. When was the big turn? I think they really and truly exploded in the nineteen eighties because in the nineteen eighties. That's when that Supreme Court hate happened with like Georgia Oklahoma and you know they got. TV rights You know they divorced the TV rights from the NCAA and schools colleges then became able to go. She ate television rights As entertaining defended themselves. Obviously than we get into the CFO era and BCS. And what we have now where the SEC. Disperse what was it. Six hundred and fifty some odd the million dollars yesterday give or take a few million yeah To all fourteen member schools. I mean look. The bedrock of this cannot be overstated. The bedrock bedrock of this is this when you as an Athletic Department at Florida Alabama at Lsu is Florida state when you do not have to pay your labor force when you do not have to compensate you or athletes. That money has to go somewhere now. That money goes to beyond coaching salaries. I mean that's the facilities race that is everything. Everything that makes these college will programs at opulent as they can be obviously a really really big part of the PIE now. Is Coaching salaries. Now Coaching coaching salaries the early eighties. That's stuff starts to get reported. That's my really really starts coming into Coming into the sport in a way that it had really really before that By the time you get through the mid nineties Florida's paying Steve Spurrier the one of the first billion dollar contracts so that he doesn't jump to the NFL at that time honestly the NFL itself explodes. You've got that competition. So it's it's the competition that that spurs in any industry the street Salaries and money and will lose those things but the early eighties. I think is where we can really pinpoint when college athletics kind of started growing up from a from a fiscal standpoint talking to Richard Johnson from a better society in now we all know what is going on. I'm interested where were you. Were you sit on this. Because the the so called Donna. Shalala proposal We heard Professor Ridpath on this would would curtail a lot of things I find find. It somewhat amusing chancellors and presidents at Private Schools More so than public schools making. I'm five six million dollars a year We have an offensive and defensive coordinator is making major seven figure salaries I know is a highly paid journalists. Where we're we're are you on what Shola is is attempting to to do at least down one lane in Congress right. I think you have a good point. the the facilities boom and the salary boom of coaches collect directors and the things that we coach Sports Mirror. That of what we see on the institutional side at a lot of these verses and I think that is one thing thing that really gets lost you know like you said like g Foreign President of like West Virginia. Like these guys make guys and girls make six figures seven figures. There is a lot of money in higher education in the United States at the highest levels. college athletics is it is not an outlander But like studies have shown time and time again going back thirty forty fifty years that when your football all team is good when your basketball team is good It becomes you know they always say that is the front porch of the university. Admissions skyrocket when athletics. Do well and that is. Why a lot of these University of course than anything else I think? Put Up with and we'll pay out the nose for Nick Sabin or Jim Harbaugh or a Davos. We or whatever I think the dirty secret is is the weight from Ro a lot of these endowments in some of these very popular. Schools would shrink a lot more than people wanNA realize. No I mean just look around. I mean boone pickens. She died recently. I mean the the amount of money that he put into Oklahoma state and I don't I don't mean to disparage Oklahoma state in stillwater Oklahoma. Oh my been there. And if you haven't Richard Make sure that you put that on your bucket list. Wouldn't it wouldn't have had that type of money And and a lot of these Jerry Jones. He's given to the University of Arkansas. You can go down the list And I mean and it's because of one thing we're trying to win in in in college football or basketball depending on on on where you live and what part of the country you're in. Yeah absolutely I saw a stew. MANDL's works in the for pretty athletic. He He has a college pat column and somebody asked him Ten million dollars. What would you do with it to build a staff? And I look the question and I was like look man if you WANNA compete with Alabama Lsu Clemson Oklahoma Ohio state. You need more your salary. You Pool has to be bigger than ten million dollars. I mean on on its face. You'RE GONNA have to pay a coach at that level. Five five and a half six six billion dollars. You'RE GONNA have to pay your coordinators eight hundred nine hundred thousand dollars because Dave Aranda was was pulling such a salaried Lsu a few atmosphere necessarily because he was such town defensive coordinator which he is but it was because one opinions coordinator so that the only job job they'll leave for is a G. Five or or power five kids coaching job. It's got bulletproof coordinators. I WANNA lose them. I don't want to take collateral. If they leave me they gotta take step up so okay. You're paying both your coordinators Like one point eight billion dollars between the two. That's like eight million dollars. Just gone to the head coach in coordinators. Now you're in another like five million dollars higher director staff your eight assistant coaches which is all right. That's your ten assistant coaches You want to compete with Georgia Alabama. All right we'll have a party because you have to fill out the rest of those staffs with analysts. We assist tense You know you gotTa have a staff of three saw guys kind of the shadow. Coaching staff that that Alabama kind of those famous or infamous. No matter how how are depending on which by the fence you went on but You know it takes money to keep up with the Joneses and it takes a lot of line really want we national championship. Always great to have you on Richard other than chicken. What's the what's the second most favorite food that you'll be serving the super bowl party Sunday lady a friend is bringing some guacamole? She'll be homemade guacamole. I'm not a big block fan but you know you know how this you gotta try say like it. So that'll that'll it'll be my My side dish. I cannot wait I if I'm in the neighborhood I'll just drop Bil- bring some bring bring a some some fruit cake leftover from Christmas. I couldn't give away Gringa fruitcake. Brings some cold ones man. I'll have seat for you right on the couch next to meatball. Thank you great. Great to talk to you again come back soon. Have you

College football rankings: Who will be #5?

"We know one thing's going to be different this year the playoff it doesn't look like Alabama is going to get there how curious are you to see who the number five team is going to be in the rankings when they come out tomorrow night I I can't imagine it being anybody but you tell at this point I guess Oklahoma does have a have a chance that I think more importantly it'll be interesting to see where Baylor is were you taught is and and then where you know because those those are the games to get even Oregon is going to come down to could you give more credit to by winning their conference whether it is Oklahoma Baylor winner or the Utah Oregon winner if you don't know if Oklahoma when those games talking to Joey Galloway was Michelle pens or performance sign enjoys doing at that spot is going to cite a lot going for for that fourteen but right now there seems to be such a clear weight class difference at one through three when we talk about is your heiau state and Clemson if you had to you know put any meaningful amount of money on it right now who do you think of those three is actually the best on the field regardless of what the resume looks like I would be afraid to put any amount of money on any of them on a deadly all three teams on a given day could be each other because they are that talented I think I think it took awhile for people to get back to respecting Clinton you can go through time frame and in a season where they don't look great and it makes people nervous they sort of jump off board but if you've watched Clinton on film all fees long even even when they did have a one point loss the north I would they didn't have a great day there are extremely talented football team that has been there and done and that is the advantage that Clinton has over LSU over Ohio state they've been in the past for five years so they they what to expect and what happens when you get in the playoffs but as far as from my account definitely things on the field it will be hard to pick one over the other two so Joey you had mentioned that you think you tell still be number five so if that's the case or by the Oklahoma six and Baylor seven with organ probably in their fourteen may be moving up to twelve so still outside the top ten so for Utah to make it into the final four should Georgia lose is that mean this is going to come down to style points to the committee yeah I think so and I think in a season where of the committee had said that eyeball test matters because if if we wanted to just go by that metric of this thing then there is no way that that was you would still be number one because from metric standpoint the metrics are still LSU's favor over high speed but they took a high sticking jumped Ellis you last week even before Ohio state beat Michigan I took a Baylor team and dump them five spot in beating up on right ten fifteen I don't believe the committee is saying that are both cast in BC then is very important and so you talk going to have to make a big statement when they play organ to really take the cake because many times they Hey even the the Oklahoma when was I better win at the end we think you talk the better team sorry Joey Galloway with us on the shell pens performance line here I'm going to win go on the field as we can we know is rivalry week and Ohio state Michigan played a game that was lopsided yet again after Jim Harbaugh was sort of getting into it with the media here at where are we at with the state of Jim Harbaugh in this Michigan program is it fair to judge him as harshly as some want to on his record against his rival alone I think it's fair to judge him on his record and his record has been a good anybody the culture that Michigan or at Ohio state you will be judged on what you do in game against Michigan Ohio state did the bigger gains the the Michigan state and state that's just the way it goes now the interesting question at the end about the talent gap there is a clear talent gap but I also understand it closer about can't come out and say Hey there there's a big talent gap here he's trying to close that gap the charter proved get players in there and he also had to get his players to believe that they can win so you can't come out later the talent that anybody's watch this game past five years there is a clear talent gap it would take almost a a a collapse by Ohio state moved to Michigan in these past few years they just haven't done that so Joey Galloway with this miss can find himself in a tough spot right because obviously Jim Harbaugh has brought things back to the university that weren't there before he got there but V. Hartle and in many people's minds the only game that matters is Ohio state and he's gone were no Michigan coach has ever been allowed to go over four oh one five to start his career any other Michigan coach has come close to that has been fired well before they got to on five so one of the do I think it comes down to what what's important to you if your mission your guide to making a decision is it important to you that mission is now back on the national scene and back to eighteen they can get you nine ten one in a season even if they do lose to Ohio state are there still in that conversation they're still talked about as much as any team out there or are you in in the only team that if I hate we have to win the Lima Ohio state we have to win the big ten we have to compete for a national championship I would I would assume that that is the thinking of Michigan because of their program because of their history because of where they've been they've won national champions before thank you would think that they will be in the mindset of we want to compete for the big ten championship we want to get to the player who won have kept what it all and if you're in that mindset I can't imagine how long you stay down this path now I'm not saying that I believe are about to be fired after this season but I do believe they will take a long hard look at what their options are because again they're they're not close right now to were high status Joey Galloway joining us enjoy Alabama loses the iron bowl they're out of the playoffs for the first time we know they'll lose their share of players to the draft including a two of the quarterback as well and so mac Jones can come back to his brother was a a freshman there as well how do you see this team coming back I've always said nobody paid any three better than Alabama it makes me angry for a season and I am looking forward to seeing what they do that the the now not just to a you wonder what's going to happen your magic they're gonna lose a couple the receivers you know in in that group of men that that might be the best able receivers we see at one school with with when you add in I went to with healthy it is almost disappointing to think that I think with that much talent dealt with the injury you've dealt with situations that won't allow them to get in because they may have been monumental they think about the amount of players that would have been in this year's playoffs if you throw Alabama and that makes I think that was the fun part of looking at it and so you look at fifteen now and you know they recruit well they're gonna lose two or loosen the from the receivers there of course moved to be effective that one thing we do know about Alabama by makes even he's been able to reload a year after year after year as well as anybody has ever done it and so it usually fun to watch how Alabama comes back after having a disappointing season they will be they will be good next year it'll be interesting to see how

Plus fight song in an a plus stadium and a plus uniforms and part of the greatest rivalry in my opinion college sports with Ohio State a+ uniform eight plus this plus that a+ rivalry April their brand and is a plus the reality is Ohio states in a Plus College Football Program Michigan has been an a minus to a b plus but when you got the fight song and the stadium and the branding and the unions and the biggest rivalry if you win nine to ten games Michigan and win every other bowl game that's what you are folks last seventy years Michigan has won national title and it shared that's who they are every college football program Ohio State is an a plus program Alabama's donate plus program Oklahoma's a plus program USC when they get the right coach is an a plus program they dominate recruiting in California. The third best recruiting state then there's a bunch a minuses Texas Michigan right now Notre Dame because they're private and it's cold weather and it's isolated and you can't get all the players you want into school Michigan's brand is Ohio State and Michigan no no no no no no no Ohio State is a better football program than Michigan and has been my entire life now I liked as a kid Michigan more like Michigan's Younis I like Michigan Stadium Better I thought it was cooler the big house I liked their uniforms better I in Michigan played a lot of out of conference games as a kid against my favorite team the Washington huskies liked Michigan more but I'm not GONNA lie here. Most Michigan coaches have struggled against Ohio state a lot of Ohio state coaches have crush Michigan so you know Sham Boeckler Lloyd Carr Harbaugh they're all about nine ten wins with losing bowl wreckers I'm not defending harbaugh his offenses underachieved and he deserves massive criticism. You're a quarterback get the quarterback position right you've with thought it get it right put Michigan Michigan's brands plus the reality is there a MIDAS MPN clemson beaten Alabama by the way get.

NFL's Braylon Edwards tells all in new book

"Our next guest had a legendary career at Michigan he was outstanding receiver in the NFL he is the author of a new book in the title really does say it all doing it my way my outspoken life as a Michigan Wolverines NFL receiver and beyond it's a pleasure to welcome to this sporting life the one and only Braylon Edwards Braylon thank you for joining us. the long time it's been a long time since we spoke at an end and as you were dressed in the book Braylon when people think about you they don't just think about your talents as a receiver they don't think about the big games that AC title games or the rose bowls they think about the controversies what you you delve into them in this book why did you want to you know dredge all that stuff up. a lot of times people get attention as they tell their story or what exactly happened so one thing come out is more so with the perception is that the time and then it becomes a story and in all the years you know and that's what it is written in stone so it was a good time for me to be able to tell all the stories and under every story from do you eyes two incidents outside my clothes will arise and people works better there were other things at at playing in those situations but I just sold you know not saying anything but the media dictate that the media the media personnel for markings dictate a on one matter and I got quiet never said anything and those things never get a chance to you know get toggle plus a lot of good things happen to you know there's a lot of philanthropic endeavors that happened a lot happier off the field have a great there are a lot of other things to talk about you know depression bullying when I was a kid so it's a heck of a store and has a lot of things that we can put out there in the book speaking with Braylon Edwards the former Pro Bowl receiver the former Michigan Wolverines star he was the third overall pick in the two thousand five NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns it only your third season in the league Braylon you at twelve hundred eighty nine receiving yards right AT receptions are your pro bowler you had some other good years notably with the jets in twenty ten almost a thousand yards receiving but you're clear didn't go the way you hoped it would go eight and and although he lasted much longer than most last in the NFL you you you were someone who is thought of as a hall of fame talent. if their injuries there are other things that went on what was it like just being caught up in that maelstrom and and not being able to get every ounce of your talents to use every ounce the weight that you would have wished our records right you know a lot of times he says spray Kato where you go online for you were you drafted what can you play for I was not at the Cleveland Browns and United play with injuries and uncertainties and continue with. in your world organizational changes office according to head coach ownership ID with kids go to New York Jets have young quarterback was did it for us but there wasn't a lot of. Aaron it outside there were you going to have success then I had a knee injury San Fran I rushed back to the field to get out there because your Harbaugh's how could a person on and it was the first time I hadn't been in a stable situation you know I got that right is a one year deal there was no stability there was no next year there was no gas I was going to start so when I got hurt when I was starting to try to come back try to rise back needed never was the same a play for Seattle I still feel the nails in quarters on sat I'm way way too young at their target core those that travel more time with jet and two thousand thirteen and Lincoln totally with Michael in the preseason against the Jaguars. it is it was times that I mean I I I will smite curricula definitely connect them when I was a kid the one of those guys. got drafted in the end of the first round to the coat so to the you know to a team that won the cowboys Burgoon a play yard can do more to maybe just have a consistent office right you know it is clear that I had seventeen quarterbacks and and for that reason I remember I remember all those guys no no I mean it's hard to remember all of them but I remember that there were a lot of them yeah I mean it was the with Braylon Edwards and his new book is doing it my way my it's spoken life is a Michigan Wolverine NFL receiver and beyond really before we let you go it's great catching up after all these years but you've been out in the news a little bit recently you're talking about your alma mater talk about your former coach Jim Harbaugh and and the words you've used I think are light years behind that team in Columbus Ohio a lot Ohio state and it's it's everyone's entitled to their opinion and I would never discourage anyone from sharing their opinions especially someone with the standing that you have what makes you say that the other than the fact that Michigan's lost fourteen out of fifteen to Ohio state well for them and that's a great start but United in the in the space of the conversation that was more so long live. as they have the idea of a state trooper who over the last year he started without one which says look from trestle so first we'll start a minor. by my Dennis they're gonna have a quarterback that can run quarterbacks that can pass the ball sort thank you have athletes at the wide receiver position they could take the ball and taunted him call back and have a great run again and I have great uses if you look at the changes over the last eighteen years they all have the same I didn't you know how they're able to have success in order to be a national championship game you have to have the formula is you need a defense that can play and win games defense bill instead but you have to have a quarterback yeah arguably in highland conversation that definitely should be first team all conference and you have to have a running back that is potentially a second round us or in the hive in conversation apply when you look at certain things all have stayed in one of when you watch them play you see a team that you know has the potential to be there at the end of the year we watch Oklahoma we watch the cleanse Alabama Georgia where you are these things you see something bad okay this is this is even ten straight year with a Honda fit yet so you know that we watch miss again you have the same question each year by year who's going to be the quarterback who's going to run the ball on this game hasn't had that yeah all dirt like Lansing Michigan office is that lived in our rabbit I do not around and finished in two thousand twelve two thousand thirteen and before that you know who the other guy you know was listening at the wide receiver play make would like this guy's just it is with the the creme de la creme like he's the one I don't mean to talk about my is usually does our ideas right. nineteen ninety six so what's being said ideas on that that was going to take forty Janes national I mean by light years behind my house they get sick and they stay true lies we've been asking the same question of Michigan there's love the arms of our book let's go the radio because the rates right every year who's the quarterback the quarterback gonna be who's going to be an issue I can always between three guys it's never a guy would never moving the next season of their lives guys come back we're gonna build around him even this year's like say that is in that wires yeah this is what I said okay last year but even if your life is your McAfee gonna be you guys Joe Miller even twenty years ago when one of those guys was named Tom Brady couldn't get the job exactly or did you incident Brady is it US got left cooking the bouldering so it's always a question about the way I received right I have you so those are questions at the major institutions that away those are not the question so I did and that's what I mean by light years I know people eight years I would say in the way. that's what I mean the identity has not been there it's it's tough love for Braylon Edwards for his beloved Wolverines his new book is doing it my way my outspoken life and it is still outspokenness Michigan Wolverine NFL receiver and beyond Braylon as I said it's a pleasure catching up with you and congratulations with the book and a good luck with us on as many as possible so I like to tell the others to come on the show. thank you maybe I will we'll catch up with the recap in a round thanksgiving before those they I would love to do

"jim harbaugh" Discussed on The Lead

"Hey nick. How's it going good. Are you not too bad. So where are you right now. I am at Michigan Radio and Ann Arbor and did you go to Michigan. No I actually went to Michigan State. Okay so so we can't trust anything that you're about to say in other words people like to people like to make a thing of that but yeah that's not really you know with our job. That's what we do so just is what it is all right so what has been the mood in Ann Arbor since this game on Saturday. It's strange. It's not it's not like people are out in the street picketing or something. I mean they're not you know furious to appoint of you know this is just an embarrassment of a program program but they're hurt or confused or or something along that nature where I think that there's no answer really and you know people are kind of just it's a lot of head scratching and maybe more vigorous head-scratching than there's been in in recent years. What is the case against Jim Harbaugh. Like what is the big knock against. This guy can't be quality opponents away from home teams of equal talent when talent is even and he's in an uncomfortable situation away from Michigan Stadium that he can't get it done because that's and that's the one thing standing in their way from going from good to great and that was really encapsulated in this game last Saturday against chance Wisconsin. I mean you know what what what is it that went wrong on Saturday four to nothing dominate from Wisconsin they went down twenty-eight nothing in the first half and hapless it was the worst half they've had of the Harbaugh era. They got pushed all over. The place. Defensively weren't physical. They're outclassed in every area so they're at work. They're skin. There are coach thorough prepared the whole shot so it was really a complete and thorough beating. Do not let that final score for you. That was not a thirty five fourteen game that was thirty five live nothing game that was Michigan being down twenty-eight nothing at half so there's you know big pressure and expectations on every college football coach and on every program program but it seems like at Michigan are just dialed up a little bit and that partly because of the amazing tradition of the program and it all began with that victory victory in the first football game in Michigan team ever played in eighteen seventy nine. You know it's the all time winningest program in cultural history which in part because it's one of the oldest in Jim Harbaugh of course was part of that amazing Michigan football tradition as a player strike. It's not just that but also hear it in. I mean his his dad was an assistant coach at Michigan Back Promotion Boeckler and then he we grew up in in in several areas but I mean he played high school football for a minute in Ann Arbor Pioneer High School which is right across the street from Michigan Stadium he's in Annaborough harbaugh ahead a great college career and he also went on to have a along pretty successful. NFL career yeah yeah I mean and again toughness keping comeback that was the nickname was drafted by the bears. Ah Football game played eighteen years the NFL and I mean that's hard to do for anybody in and he's a guy who was football's entire life. you know he lives in breezy game he said before you you know his plan growing up was to college football play in the NFL for as long as you can go for as long as you can and then die and that's Jim her bows life. That's what he wants to do. And that's that's that's just how it goes and after he retired from playing he gets into coaching he goes to San Diego and then takes a much bigger job at Stanford turns out from kind of laughing stock walk into a college football power off the San Francisco Forty niners that you know struggling franchise that he takes and completely flipped on its head. I mean they were in the super bowl in your to according to the ball game and Ben Yates correct they were a contender for the first three years there and then things began to fizzle out between him and in ownership and management but a guy who again again every place he went as a coach you know he took a team that was struggling and flipped it and did it in three short order and along the way he earned a bit of a reputation for being you you know kind of a colorful character yeah. I mean he's an interesting guy because that's the best way to put it. He just he's really not apologetic. He's likes to sign a lot of quotes. People are heaping flowery words of praise Tanya then you feel more exposed before your enemies use that you try to shut this Ralph Waldo Emerson there and so when Harbaugh was was hired as a head coach at Michigan in two thousand fourteen. That was a huge deal. I mean he was one of the biggest names in coaching at the time and it was like the return of the Prodigal Nicholson. I think the gym was likely no Shirley was a candidate for any of these pro jobs open yesterday and yet he chose to come home. That was the largest attended press conference Michigan. Had I mean there. Were people pressed face thing on the glass outside the building. There are people waiting outside fans nuts. People were crying. It was a whole thing bringing a familiar name back to the state. There's this wonderful great coach and he can. He can out Michigan like to a better future and help them win more football so full disclosure here. My grandfather actually played eight football at Michigan. My parents met at the University of Michigan and I actually just did a journalism fellowship at U. of M. and there's this phrase that I've heard a lot on campus campus Michigan Man. No Man is more important than team. No coach is more important than the team the team the team the eighteen and if we can you explain what that phrase means most people who define themselves that would tell you that that that person is someone who is is willing to be super competitive and put himself beneath the greater need of the entire program whatever it be if you're a football player basketball player a doctor her or whatever you're you're doing everything you can for the greater good of the entire institution and was that part of the excitement with harbaugh. I mean was he seen as a Michigan man. Am I used to say Jim. Harbaugh Michigan went together like peanut butter and Jelly and a shot a red bull. I mean it was like perfect. I mean it was like the exact when he was hired. There was no other option and the program that he took over was somewhat in shambles. I mean they'd been twelve and thirteen over the previous. Two seasons frustration was virtually at an all time high and tomorrow's how does credit he came in and pretty quickly turned the program around yeah. He did what he always does. Michigan I mean there was a five and seventeen. They flipped it They were tenants revolving your they double the win total. This team needed more than anything was a boost in their mental toughness in their Mezzo confidence and that's what he brought back to this team. After this fan base he still calls it his favorite year in football the favorite year he's ever had and Harbaugh put together several ten win seasons which hadn't happened at Michigan in quite some time but of course the measuring stick for Michigan Football Coach is Ohio State and Harbaugh is yet to beat them. They've lost four straight to them so they have one win over st since it's two thousand three in our wise man will solve it you know of course again. It's a hard job because Ohio state chief rival states been one of the best programs in America for well over a decade so harbaugh has earned this reputation for not being able to win the big games but is that really fair. I mean couldn't this just be a case of bad luck in him. Losing a handful of big games yeah I mean that's why it's interesting because the two thousand Sixteen Ohio State game for instance was they played him for most of the game a call goes against him at the end and and they lose a thriller and so if it's that every time if they've lost six of those games like that that way then I would say no. That's not fair because I mean they're just yeah. They're on the wrong end of of of just the game. I guess but it's not that they're getting beat by a field goal at the last second it's that they're getting thoroughly and this. This Wisconsin was probably the worst I will start to question okay. Is this actually going to work because you're going to be able to take them from good to great.

Pilots’ Strike Prompts British Airways to Cancel 1,700 Flights

"British Airways has cancelled nearly one hundred hundred percent of its flights for September ninth and tenth amid a dispute with a British Airlines Pilots Association. That's be bapu which scheduled a strike for early this week. announced on August twenty third that its pilots would be striking in September following a pay dispute with the airline which they claimed would not accept any of a number number of solutions that would have avoided this strike. What isn't gonNA average pilot makes who's flying across cross the Atlanta against completely guessing you think to fifty I that sounds somewhere? I don't know Yeah Bach Seventy Five. I was GONNA Guess West because I've heard I have a a friend not that level but like he he says the the the wages have come down salaries so I'll go less but hopefully we'll well the pilot's Union they represent over ten thousand UK pilots across more than twenty companies had accused the airline of profiting at the cost of pilots sacrifice edge sacrifices services that include pay cuts and reduced leave and closing the final salary pension scheme quote unquote meanwhile the cost of these cancelled services is about fifty million per day yeah. It's Kinda tough if you need pilots and they go on strike like you can if you work at tuna canning factory or something then you working out next man then but yet the seven seven seven that's seven eight seven hundred in fact there was a post that said if your flight is cancelled. Please stay home like don't bother coming to not airport Heathrow. It's it's GonNa be a madhouse

You were there to win that thing and then at one point. The announcer said he's been practicing. Basically we all night last night and this morning. Were you practicing hard for that competition. Yeah not just the night before and the day of either. I was practicing leading up to it and all the other quarterbacks are the same way i mean they're they. They wanna win that they kind of try to play a little too cold for school like <hes> you know hat backwards or sunglasses or something like that but they really wanna win weather in it then watch some of the other ones because they had like other. He's a marathon yeah other yeah. It was bad and you could see a couple years after that people stop being to over school and you could tell they were they were trying to win. Ah changed the game. You're like the michael. Jordan did with a dunk contest. You did with quarterback skills competition. Well humility prevents me from saying now. Let me say the statement. Carry the water agree with me. After i say always great watching you compete in something that is you know it is very relaxed kind of vibe and you were fired up leg. It was a super bowl and then you want it and you were there was like this. I have this clip..

"Making hundreds of thousands millions and so these players for three or four years have been trying to get to that point and i understand stand that michigan has forty one seventeen probably partly due to why he made his comments because devon bush didn't play rashawn gary them. We just start right. There were michigan's some of their best players on the team and so i understand where coaches coming from he kind of feels like it's an attack on him or his brother but at the end of the day these players are trying to get to the next level and that's the ultimate goal of the college system. Prepare your players get to the next level. It will be playing in the toilet bowl. Nobody you wanna play and that's why they need to expand the college playoff when you only got four teams. This is going to continue to happen well. I do think it's going to cause the expansion of the playoffs which i think it's unfortunate but but you know jim harbaugh around the same age he was at michigan when i was at ball state and and it it bothers me the guys with as much experiences we have and he has even more than his dad was our coast. He has seen this game chain. Yeah we used to play eleven seven game and now these kids are playing fourteen and fifteen gator all in pursuit of money and these conferences have expanded the conference schedule has expanded. He's seen all the money flood into the sport he see when he was a michigan motion becker. I think made around two hundred seventy five two hundred thousand dollars as the head coach and he's in there making ten nine ten million a year. He's seen the explosion of money and what it's done to coaches and how the game has changed and how how more and more are being asked to the kids and when the kids finally push back here and say you know what i don't need to play this nineteenth game run <hes> so we use you jim houston play ten or eleven and they tell me it's so dangerous and c._t. But you want to play more and more and more. I just don't understand how you can have that breath of dollars. The gym should have and i know he has and make these comments and i think when i played college i think i would've agreed with this statement. Because was it was a different era right. You just brought that up. It's a different era right like i can't parent my children the way i was parented because it's a different era things have changed. The world has evolved social media. Now we got a lot of different other moving parts to this and so i love the fact that these young kids are taking ownership and saying you know what i gotta. Get ready for the lead because that's the ultimate goal here is to get them ready for the next level and so by a coach saying this. I think he's more taken it as an attack on himself. Maybe because again going back to the loss that they had in the ball game but also somebody's ballgames. They don't mean nothing they literally don't mean anything at all ration- abol games games in our day. There was just a handful right. You know what is funny. It means something to jim harbaugh. Let's just be real. Jim harbaugh biggest star in that conference right dan because over myers going but they couldn't be ohio state so you go into this bowl game which is stars now sidelined and you're like this means something for me that last taste for this season has to be a good one going off season recruiting and jim harbaugh has been around the game so long he remembers an oath three. Y'all remember willis mcgahee. He went out the fiesta bowl of tours. Neo never no never was the same now he was still good to great but he was never the same and these players have learned from net including the influx of the money into these guys are first rounders. We're talking about top. Twelve players right here knows too and he wants them to go out theory players in the toilet bowl in the toilet bowl. It's no says he did. We miss anything yeah man so we all know that evidence harbaugh took over the team..

"He and Jim horrible had some interesting takes on his old is old master I mean his old urban Meyer urban Meyer has dominated this robbery not just in the Jim Harbaugh era going back before Jim Harbaugh urban culture house state for seven years you want every single one of his match up against high against the Michigan including last year's domination was sixty two to thirty nine a blow out over the Michigan Wolverines last season at the horseshoe and Jim Harbaugh ways on Tim telecom these podcast was ask about urban Meyer who's no longer on the sideline he's in the booth for fox but this is what Jim Harbaugh had to say you know what I don't know if I disagree with us know whether he should have said it okay let's hear it or you can be judged on his record and what your record is overall what your record is within your conference and what your record is head to head matchups with with the other teams that you play right now how soon is the only team that has a has a better record than us has a better conference record in us and has the better head to head match up with this into your action when urban Meyer retired yeah he's really matters had a winning record the really the normal record everywhere is bent on also controversy follows in the words all right so that is that's a T. K. show on the athletic podcast networks in Carroll County bay area obviously those horrible from his nine or days and there is a really good reporter was with the mercury news for years I I listen I want a great concession by horrible he's got a winning record he Jacko by the way you know speak you said he beat him four times three of the four double digits right so they pretty much smoking over including last year but it the question is at what the question but the point is Jim Harbaugh's not wrong he's not he's just stating facts controversy has followed urban Meyer wherever he has been in its I don't know if it's if it's relevant because we all know that these things happen and go warning college football so is it worth the coach said in it especially if you might get helped up more these things somewhere down the line saying Jim Harbaugh's done anything but the fact that he's been dominated by urban Meyer it feels like sour grapes feels like we just but I can't beat him so I got a taste of the bad about it you should take the high road but herb is not there anymore herb is not on the sideline at Ohio state it's Ryan day now who hasn't had to replace a quarterback in Blaine Haskins who was phenomenal a for the Buckeyes last you were fifty touchdowns and obviously a first round draft pick in Justin field who came in from Georgia transfer market he's got to take over so it's like he's throwing gas on the fire that November thirtieth matchup between Michigan at the big house this year in Michigan house day it'll be better when it will be lively but he's supposed to win now yeah because of the transition that's going on it I'll state and the fact that he's going to do is fifty year he's got his quarterback for the second year in a row this last year we got she batters it is finally got his quarterback Jim Harbaugh is gonna find a way to you know take them to the college football playoff because all we needed was his quarterback great I didn't happen last year and you get a second year with the same guy it better happen this year he's not a **** I'm not buying the viral he's not on the hot seat that's going to happen but whether or not he's getting the job done at the level in which we thought you might that is obviously open for debate is all real or is it all one needs about championships allegedly at Michigan that they don't exactly it's about beating Ohio state they don't do that to me what is it really about look they haven't won a title since ninety seven missing and I get to think about where they were before Jim Harbaugh came there I wasn't good Brady Hoke rich rod behind and you weren't even like paying attention to me war because this Michigan yeah I work say and this team has a chance to win a national title was in the conversation any surprises in your one yes with ten ten to three ten and three is one ten times three out of the four years that he's been there a year two was eight five you lost a lot of guys on the on defense the NFL going to try to to be fair right yeah not to look I I urban Meyer never has those excuses I dictated doesn't have those issues that's because urban Meyer has controversy following him

"So by the way, the Jim Harbaugh rumor today for a pro football talk said one team will aggressively pursue Jim Harbaugh. They did not name the team. They said there is one team that will make an aggressive move toward Jim Harbaugh now Harbaugh the recruiting season is mostly over. I do think there's reasons why Jim Harbaugh could leave Michigan. He's never gonna wanna national championship there. The south has more good players in their geographical footprint. Bama. Auburn georgia. Clemson. Second of all recruiting pain in the butt, most coaches don't love doing it and three he's a Super Bowl caliber head coach who was unjustly fired because he couldn't get along with jed York or Trent, bulky. There's also reasons why I get Jim Harbaugh would stay, and I think those are very real it his program he played there. He loves it. Boesch mbacke Laurie idolizes them Michigan's a great place to live in Arbor. Second thing urban Meyer's leaving. So it's going to be Jim Harbaugh and James Franklin and a bunch of dudes. And then you don't have to deal with the crazy owner. And that's the thing he got thrown out of the NFL because of crazy owner, but my my takeaway on this is. Jim Harbaugh got fifteen more years of head coaching. He's going to be offered a job every year in the NFL for the next fifteen years, and he's gonna get a situation. I thought the Indy job was perfect. Andrew lock. Have been. But I think it's too soon to leave Michigan his work there. Do not finish. Just ask yourself if you're an aspirational person. And you're you've already done great. You've got a pile of money, a beautiful wife and family and your legacy cemented and for fifteen straight years. You get offered the highest level of coaching. Yeah. I don't think his his legacy is cemented. There yet though. Well, I think if you went to couple big ten couple years, but he's certainly not a failure at mission. No, he hasn't won the level. And now he will. So I I just don't think Jim for fifteen years gonna turn down all the opportunities. He's going to be afforded blazing five tomorrow. We are red hot back to back winning weeks. One of our last blazing fives. We have about three to go in L A. See you tomorrow. It's the herd..

Well, they'll they also have a loved better players. I mean, let's not kid are. Let's not I don't think the cupcakes or whatever it is clearly bothered them. But he's right. You know, you just go back and answered on the court. They also got Kevin Durant. So that help. Yup. I think that was a bigger deal than cookies coming back Kevin during coming out and squash that whole rivalry. "Nasal spray uses directed up to twelve hours when congestion strikes. So this is a story. Now this week we we couple of weeks ago, we broke the story in urban Meyer. We told you is leaving. We were right? We broke it done cliff. Kingsbury we broke the story yesterday is going to USC a guy. Good college context on this stuff with agents and stuff. I'm not really a story breaker, but I will tell you. There's a story. I heard yesterday from two different sources Jim Harbaugh's put his name out for NFL teams. Now, just hold off before you freak out. Chris Carter also had that this morning on first things first here you go. I'm just going to tell you guys a name watch out for Jim Harbaugh. Jim Harbaugh potentially is trying to get his way out of Michigan. I got good sources that are telling me not only Green Bay. But also watch out for the Cleveland Browns. He likes to quarterback situations there. And I believe that there is front office people in Green Bay who are namrd with Jim Harbaugh and potentially trying to get him to come to Green Bay. I've heard the same thing that Harbaugh and Brian Kelly at Notre Dame have put their names out there for NFL teams. Now, let me just stick to Harbaugh for a second. Here's what I think is happening. Here's what I believe is happening Nick Sabin five years ago lost a game to rival Auburn that he should have one. And for the first time in his Alabama tenure at the time. He got pushback some of the boosters he was hurting here. A little pushback Nick Sabin thought. Hell you talking about. You guys were train wreck before I got here. So Nick Sabin sent his wife to Austin, Texas to look at houses. He call. His agent, Jimmy Sexton. Get the word out, I'm looking and it freaked Alabama people out and Nick Sabin had the most leverage of his career. He got his house paid off. He got some investments paid off. And he got a lifetime deal the minute, they doubted Nick Sabin. He went looking and freaked out the people at Bama, so Jim Harbaugh similarly, everybody Michigan loves him. They really love him this year. And he loses ugly to his rival, Ohio State. And he's getting a little pushback people in Ann Arbor big boosters athletic director, Jim Harbaugh is like Tim out. You guys were grease fire before I got here. You don't you didn't get better than me Harbaugh puts his name out story leaks out and the Michigan people like, well, all we love you. We love you. We let wouldn't be shocked if I saw an extension to harp on Michigan. I don't think he wants to leave Michigan. Although I think he worked in the NFL and he'd work again. He's a lot better than about half the coaches easily in this league. Maybe not Bella Chack. Maybe not, Sean. Peyton maybe not Pete Carroll. But he's good football coach and his style worked in the NFL. So that's what I think is happening here. Do I think he'd be a great fit in? Green bay. Well, he certainly strong enough. I'd love to see it. I'm rooting for it. I think it'd be the greatest thing in the world. I would literally I would put money in. I would pay for it. If I could I buy lunch for the rest of his tenure at Applebee's in Milwaukee for Jim Harbaugh. I would die to see this happen. He and Baker Mayfield be interesting too. But I don't think it's going to happen. But I think this has Sabin feel five years ago. You lose to arrival. You get a little pushback, and when these iconic coaches get pushed back, they wanna flex and say, oh, you think you think you can do better than me you call your agent or you call somebody to make connections. Get the word out, then your university, you're eighty or fans like, okay. Sorry sexy. Sorry, Nick, sorry. Jim. Let's crawl back. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Don't be shocked if here an extension for Harbaugh soon. Joy taylor..

The weird twist in the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry

"He is Marty Smith who spent most of the year in Alabama or so it seems but today he is in Columbus Ohio getting ready for the big game up there mardi thanks for. Joining us set the scene for us in Ohio. We know Apollo good evening. Yeah. You're right. I think I had five Alabama games this year. Maybe six I don't know most of them. But I'm up in Columbus right now. It's getting cold outside. It's going to be nasty and rainy tomorrow, and we're in the lobby here at the Woody Hayes athletic center, and they are getting ready, man. It's it's fun to talk to the coaches and the players about this rivalry, you know, growing up in the south as I did. And you know, you've lived there your whole life as well. We look at at the iron bowl, which you guys are at and we all know about Janki Red Sox and all of those great rivalries. But this one's extremely special. It's kind of boring off of respectful hate for one another. They don't hate the man, but they hate the establishment on the other side of the football. And of course, it was all born in a fight over Toledo all those years ago. So when you're fighting over Toledo brother, it makes for a hell of a good rivalry. I was reading about that today coming over here. Toledo for those who don't know is fairly close to the Michigan line. It's also where urban Meyer in Jim Harbaugh were both born same hospital about seven months apart. And and it's pretty amazing Marty how a city in Ohio could be is amazing right in the middle of it. All. Is what blows my mind is what you just said. It's funny. I wrote an essay kind of really chronicling the hatred between the schools and the foundation of the rivalry and the evolution of the rivalry with both sham Boeckler and Woody Hayes in the ten year war and then the two thousand six game the game of the century on and on. And there's so many indelible moments any whether it's Desmond our boy flashing the flesh and the I'm actually staying in the Ohio State lobby right now. Maybe I shouldn't be mentioning those things or Charles Woodson running punts back and all those amazing moments, and I was floored when I learned that urban and horrible we're both from Toledo born into Lido. And then I was even further shocked by the fact that it was the same

Michigan Jim Harbaugh On beating Ohio State

"At Ohio State buckeyes, maybe with some breaks have a shot at the playoff. But michigan. They know if they went out they are in. But for Jim Harbaugh that means doing something he hasn't done yet as Michigan head coach. And that's beating Ohio State. Here's the coach. Yeah. We're we're we're happy to be position. And will. Do what we do. And that's get ready for it and expect our team will be really really fired up to play. And do what they do what they have been doing every week of the season, which is playing as hard as it can as fast as they can play as long as they can play hard playing their best plan for Michigan. That's what this team team is has been doing.

"And I'm on with Jim and his dad and his dad Jack hor ball legendary coach he was saying that they moved probably fourteen or fifteen times with coaching jobs, and he's seventy nine years of age. He's a national treasure. He just he's so much fun to talk to. And he's got great stories. But he's been everywhere. You know? Oh, Michigan and Stanford. Oh, he western Kentucky. He was very successful. There. It just a lot of fun. But you know, what? When you talk to Jim Harbaugh dad, you're talking to a coach like he's it's still one of my favorite moments when he came into the New York man cave with Archie manning. And he just stuck out that big hand he goes Patrick Harbaugh. And I just thought it was great. You know? So maybe he's a treasure. I really enjoyed talking to Jack Harbaugh. Let's bring in Jim. Of course, the Michigan head coach that was fun yesterday. Jim had a lot of fun. I really really enjoy your father. We we he is a treasure. You you hit the nail on the head and. Not always my dad, but he's he's my next door neighbor. He and my mom live right next to me. And he comes into the office every day helps me out all the time. And I he's a treasures there's no other way to say it one of the one of the two greats. Do you think you could take him now? I I'd be I think I could. I I would not I would not I would not attempt that he he's got old man string. There's still be a little bit. They're still be a little bit of doubt in my mind. Do you have any doubts about your team right now after that demolishing performance against Penn State? Well, we went we don't want to. We don't want to lighten up we want to tighten up. And but I like our team of they're playing they're playing par plan focused playing confident confident their own abilities and confident in each other and doing their job and practising practising, really good. And so trying to get better trying to be better today than we were yesterday trying to be better tomorrow than we are today. Next game will be Saturday against Rutgers. Do find yourself repeating what your dad probably said to you growing up. Yeah. Some some in most circumstances. Yeah. I do I do find that more as a coach or as a parent. Both both my dad's always been. Kind of my go-to guy. Dan, I I think everybody needs to go to person, and I found with my dad, and he'd learned me from an early age to do what he do what he told me to do. And I got I got in the habit of whatever. My dad told me to do. I would do exactly how he told me to do it with numbing repetition. I kept finding from a young age. And if I just did did what he told me to do. And how he told me to do it exactly how he told me to do it. I would have success. So he's always been been that person for me that that go-to person that whether it's professionally personally. Coaching wise. I just I'd do it. He learned to do what he told me. And he's he's right. Most all the time. Will he be honest with you? Yes. I mean that is there was honest, Abe, and there's and there's there's Jack horrible. I mean, he this is a man who who says what he means means what he says. Does he come over and watch football? Like last night. Did you guys watch the Monday night game? No, we did not watch the Monday night game. I was working. I was watching. I was watching Rutgers. And I don't know he watched the game or not. But didn't watch the game last night. Do you see one I woke up and saw that Tennessee when the ball game? But that's about all, I know. Do you watch do binge-watch stuff non-smart? Sometimes I mean, usually may just I'm just into. Into into the season. And we're watching mom watching my own practice film or you're watching the opponent tape, and he watched it much as as as you possibly can..
