"It's Sunday, and that means it's time for Jim Days. Weekly conversation with Reds general manager Nick Crawl. All right, Nick Big Week in Major League Baseball. The Major League Baseball trade deadline is coming up this Friday at four o'clock and, uh, is this amongst the busiest time as a general manager? Most definitely, I mean, especially with coming off the draft going into the trade deadline. This is you know, you're you're constantly on the phone and and trying to see how you can make your club as best You can. You have the green light to go out and make whatever deal you want and even add payroll. Yeah, Yeah. No, I mean, Bob's been great, and we're just trying to figure out what the what the prices of guys are. And, you know, obviously, some for some players, they're really high and and, uh, some players are a little little bit lower. But you know, in terms of prospects and and and cash, we've got away what makes sense for our organization moving forward. As we sit here on Sunday, with some days to go before the deadline, you get a sense of what the market is like. Everyone has talked about while you might have to over pay for players this year, particularly relievers. Do you get a sense that that's the case? Um, yeah, I think that right now. You know, the prices are obviously higher today than they will be on Friday. But just as as players come off the board, maybe there's a little supply demand there. But, um, for right now, it's just it's continuing to have conversations and and if there's a fit, let's figure how to go down that road. Is it more advantageous for this club to have trade for a player that you have control of maybe next year as well? Or are you looking at perhaps rentals as well? I mean, we're looking at both markets. I mean, I think that it depends on what the prices are on on those players. Um you know, the more control you have, the higher the prospect return is going to have to be so we're looking at both markets, both rentals and and and long Sturm Long term. Pieces, so we'll see what happens. Obviously, I know you won't want to mention names. But do you have a feel of the reliever market? Are there relievers available that are difference makers? Yes, I think there's there's some. I think it just depends on who they are. And I think there's you know, there might be some names out there that don't end up getting traded at the end of the day, just because their teams also want to keep them and they're just they're putting him out there to see the value of that player at this point, as opposed to. Hey, they know they're going to move this guy, and here it is. You think there's enough time to catch the Brewers? Yeah. I mean, look, it's were 5.5 games out of the wild card. I think today. Um, you know, I think anything can happen. You know, we we we've you've got two months left, and you were said that Well last year, we would have been in the same boat and we end up making a playoff spot in and, uh We're, uh Because we want a lot of games at the end. I think that this team is is an exciting team that can that can definitely do. It should be an interesting week, Nick. Thank you. Thanks. Jim asked. And if it is indeed Trevor Bauer, he would be the first Reds pitcher in team history to accomplish that feat. Jim, this is This is kind of exciting that they're keeping us in suspense here. They're milking this shell for All it's worth, but you know, you got an hour. Ah, well, apparently now we're going to bring in one of the greatest ever do it. Greg Maddux. There's nothing better than AH, radio while watching TV that we've done a lot, but it is what it is. A the hot Stove league is Wednesday. 6 to 7. It's always been that way. So that is the way it goes. So we wait just a cz you do and as soon as we find out, we will pass along the information and certainly exciting to find out whether or not Trevor Bauer after finishing with a remarkable 2020 season. Is the National League Cy Young Award winner certainly deserving. He led the National League and E. R. A whip opponent, batting average opponent, Babbitt. IRA plus hits per nine, Hey was second in strikeouts, which was Remarkable. Finished with 100 strikeouts Hey, was also second in the National League in strikeouts per nine. And it is in fact, Trevor Bauer, the first ever read to win the National League Cy Young Award. Congratulations to Trevor Bauer. Certainly a big night for him. This is something, Jim that that he has had his eyes on for a long time. You know, I like guys that he is so honest. You ask someone normally is Cy Young Award one of your goals. Oh, no, no, no. If that just comes along, it's a team game. He's like, Yeah, absolutely. It's been one of my goals. It's on on the top of the list. I want to win a Cy Young Award. And he's now won a Cy Young Award and earned it People are going to say arcade 2020 is a shortened season. It's not like the other teams played 100. He only played 60 or the Reds played 60. Well, deserving. Very happy for him. And all the stuff that comes along with Trevor Bauer and people outside that have never met him or dealt with theme are covered him. Ah, you know, talk about all the negative things that have happened the past. We didn't see any of that. He was terrific to work with. He was terrific to be around. Teammates loved him. He was nothing but a positive and, frankly, Jim, he was a guy that was fun to talk to. Any time we got a chance to chat with him. It was really truly a delight to talk with Trevor Bauer just because of the fact that he was going to give you an honest answer, and you could talk about an array of topics. "Ridiculous and I'm like well can you at least admit that this shit is extremely creepy and weird and we'll never know if he did do it. No it didn't do it like we were in the room. He literally could not have done it impossible i. I don't know that I wouldn't let my kids stay over there. I mean you wouldn't either Lizardo. Reveal that she still struggles despite having a year full of success. Sometimes I breakdown Accra. Yes she's you know of course face a lot of backlash criticism stuff but she's also been like entertainer two year All that stuff got a bunch of eight grammy nominate the nation's certified platinum album So yes she set for March two now our experience a little bit happiness. I was not happy with the way AFFELDT to my body. She said I didn't feel sexy and I didn't know when it was going to end there were times when I would go on the stage and be like Y'all I'm not gonNA lie. I feel myself sometimes. I breakdown and cry. Even as album garnered her most the most grammy nominations at any artists this year. She confessed. Sometimes she does have to censor ourselves in negative the criticism. I have to bite my tongue on starting things when people challenged my talent. They deserve to be here. The challenge my blackness. I'm like oh I can easily just let your ass Let's ask no right now. That are in now in one thirty one hundred thirty two characters while you're the fuck while you're fucking wrong yet I think that's our answer into Reo Lennox it. 'cause I mean people try to act like there's a way to not be disrespectful to hire but also be like I. I should've one. Well I want and today's make it about blackness. Yeah you talking about me you know. Does that's like people. I think people are Lennox. Almost they tried to act like you can do both. You just can't unfortunately there's no fucking way if we were for a podcast award and somebody else wanted this year and we going off about how we deserved it will. We also are saying that they didn't yes you are. You know we start. Taking random shots is Kinda at what they do but Yeah it's also interesting too because This is another example of why these people being alive so much of what their content is sharing that lives with us and instagram. And all this stuff but we also expect them to be Kinda like museum pieces untouchable art we comment on that has no desert respond back. Yeah so you know it's kind of interesting to see like the pressures of that cracking you you know and we know happens but in the past. We just haven't had the window into these. These people's lives with social media correct so in the past we've had artists killed themselves and shit. Wow who could have known they were so troubled and then later they they address us and they did this and there was that and they try to commit suicide before they covered it up and said it was stress related or something. And we'll it's like when all this happened it's uh-huh but now you can go. Instagram live in your lowest or highest moments. And everybody sees it. Oh Yes sir As she told Time I didn't WANNA be famous. But she said I wanted to be like brand new boy from incubus. I just want to go to the farmer's market. Jim Days is oh baby yes somebody what else to go to the farmer's market on your behalf that's the byproduct of sharing tyler with the world. Liked them you know But Ah yes the the thing is like depending on who you like Shit. It depends on how people evaluate that the situations you you know 'cause Ireland is definitely was questioning the blackness of Lizard Her music. And if if she wasn't her fans were so maybe let's say what her fans and the discussion online became lizard. Does it make black music. She's not black enough. And you know she makes trapper keeper BOPs and Shit like that in one of those things got ugly out like real fast and then the idea is will. It won't affect her and we're not the bullies were even though you're you know you're discussing are even though you know people see this shit is people like took it there you know. So let's say Ari didn't people did they. Did you know what I mean so like the then and this is what I want people to grasp about like the Internet. Shit the the idea that this is in a vacuum and that these people are like the robots. That's not how it works. No that's not how you go work like there were people in many of them this days and shit but minium just normal people that reporter one eight hundred and adding her talking shit about her. I'm sure the backlash for a fucking food delivery shit. I'll share that. Also people sitting on I used against the people and humid and so it bothers them move. We can see it for certain people but not others based on like you know hungry. Linda's head of human moment. She lost in fucking you know award. She thought she would win in front of everybody and he's on twitter sharing things right. The fuck away you know and I think also I think is weird. Is that the people that specifically target some of these celebrities are saying ones that were loud enough for representation reputation and all this type of stuff and then all of a sudden one day just corny. And I don't like you anymore and I'm throwing you away And Society but I want us to see the humanity and black women and all this shaves you know and I think if you believe in if you buy hype or if you believe those people when they tell you those things thanks. It's got to hurt a lot would find out. It's all bullshit you know so I I don't know that's crazy. But that's what people used to say low buyers that she shared her house air lows and she was real. And now now now sees you know catches a lot of flack from at least a lot of black people on it. But I still like her album to me. Do and Ireland is album too. So Hammond listen in Harris is good. It's good shit so All right let's get into something else. Let's see how about Disinfect them a black people..

"And welcome back to coast to coast George in order with you Jim Davies website Jim day be starboard linked up at Costa coasting M. dot com one of his other previous books called river did the science of why jokes make us laugh that's interesting too if we have sometimes it might want to ask you a little bit about laughter and why the human body does that but how do you measure imagination with science you get a matter imagination a couple ways the it's hard though because it's a very internal kind of thing it's we have to get secondary measures and sort of triangulated like we do in many other kinds of scientists the simplest thing to do is ask someone what they imagine and this is useful for dream imagery for example we ask people what they dreamed about we can find patterns in their reports we can ask people the nature of their imagination we can do an exercise right now with your with your listeners we can say everybody imagine a triangle as vividly as you can and what color is that triangle people picture the triangle and then we can ask them what colour was but also with interesting is that we can say all right well that triangle that you imagine now that you've got it is there a flat side down or appointed side down and the vast majority of people will say whom may I was think about the color but yes it does have a flat side down and you know we can we can look at that and say look that you know it represents a stable object in the world because objects are more stable when when they're not on you know floating on a point there real trying on the real world would be flat side down so that's one way we could do it there also ways emerging now to use brain scans to try to guess which of several pictures of someone is imagining that's pretty it's still fairly primitive but as we get better better brain scans we might be able to have more objective measures less subject to interpretation in memory and all that kind of thing can you teach someone to be imaginative boy I really wish I had better news so you can teach someone to be more creative for sure and there are lots of books out there on creativity that you know give you tools for that kind of thing but as far as imagery goes your vividness of your imagery appears to be something that you cannot make better and now this I've I've read everything there is on this in the last couple years and there are a lot of advice but when it comes to scientific evidence it doesn't hold up very well so they're exercises out there you can do but they don't that I I haven't found evidence that they appear to do much good so in terms of vividness right so when you when people imagines something like a beach scene or something like that there's a lot of differences in how vivid that imagery as some people it's it's almost like they're right there and for some people the very damn and some people were called affidavit they have no experience at all they don't even know what it means to try to bring a picture to mind and it doesn't appear that there's anything you can do to change it getting older makes it get worse people imagery is stronger in their early twenties and it seems to slowly decline over over the lifespan but again doesn't seem to be able to be saying we can make more vivid unfortunately as you test people for imagination what's the method that you use so in my laboratory it's mostly report so people will talk about what they're looking at so we'll get we'll give them a situation we might say you know imagine a cat as seen in the cabinet and tell us what else is in the scene and then we can know where those objects are and what they are in that kind of thing how long you been doing this now Jim I've been working here for about ten years ten years yeah what got you interested in this I well I'm in graduate school doing my dissertation my adviser at Georgia tech a show coil recommended and also Nancy inner sense in both cognitive scientists recommended that I study visual problem solving how do people picture things in their heads to try to solve problems when I would talk to people about this they would say where these pictures come from I'd say nobody knows so when I became a professor I thought that's what I'm gonna tackle I'm gonna try to figure out when people imagine a scene in their head how do they pick those objects where do they go what's the orientation what's the point of view these are the mysteries that my lab is trying to tackle is a dream of someone imaginative yes streams they're not usually not usually talk about but in my book I have a whole chapter on dreaming because it is generating thing in your head usually the most vivid way to generate anything in your head that people ever experienced and even many people who cannot have any mental imagery that's deliberate when they're awake they can't bring pictures to their head or they can't hear so they can't generate like a song in there had even many of those people have dream imagery right so it appears that it uses some but not all of the same mental tools as daydreaming and and other kinds of imagination but it's certainly by a definitional area he is definitely imagination as as would be hallucinations and other things like that because you're creating something century like but it's from your memories and your mind rather than from the outside world in what is a hallucination how would you point out our nation is not super clearly defined it is but I'll give you of a basic definition and that is that it is the perception of the existence of something without an appropriate perceptual input so if you see a book or you see a jar of peanut butter but there is no jar peanut butter from you in front of you then we would consider that a hallucination out if xenadrine then you know we don't call it a little college dream but they're still you know that the senior during aren't things that are right front of you either but that's how we define those nations does a hallucinated the whole whole whole whole loosen as Asian say that there's something wrong with the brain something physical I'm not necessarily know a lot of people have hallucinations for a lot of reasons and it's often not any need for concern the most famous symptom is like voices in the head and that that can be a symptom of schizophrenia but many many people in their lives will hear voices or see things out of the corner I and it's just a glitch in the system but three temporary and is not a sign of anything wrong this is particularly true in states of semi wakefulness so when you're falling asleep when you're just waking up free Google I I will be more frequently but many times in my life I've been trying to fall asleep and I thought I heard someone say my name I thought I hear the door knocking and that's a particular kind of police whose mission called dream intrusion where I have we can have a sleep and you mistake something in a dream like state for something in the real I will sometimes wake up to a door bell ringing and there's nobody there well you're probably your mind is probably fine and it has been it's noteworthy that you're you know waking up to it which suggests that you are at near sleep right so you're probably curious probably and that's probably dream intrusion hallucination interesting take I mean it's really it's bizarre because you you know you would bet money that you heard a doorbell rang and you know you wake up you go down there there's nobody there I know it's funny like in their experiments where they have people vividly imagine something and sometimes they end up thinking that it's really there so there is an experiment where they had people imagine as that White Christmas was playing in the next room yeah and they asked me to vividly imagine the song and a sizeable percentage of those people actually thought that it was playing in the other room so nothing wrong with them it's just that you when your magic nation can get strong enough sometimes it can trigger the same aspects of your mind that perception does and then you can interpret as something real you might you might consider that a hallucination how imaginative our children so children I want to get something out of the way the children in the in the creativity sense children are not as creative as everyone seems to think and I think that we all kind of know this because you know when was the last like blockbuster movie franchise that was completely based on it kids idea or something like that or an amazing invention that was invented by a four year old so what kids are they are uninhibited right particularly young children that are younger than five are very uninhibited so they come up with things that are really quirky and interesting and we see how my goodness that's really creative but the most creative things in this world when we talk about like most creative inventions of the most creative ideas they're usually made by adults and kids aren't super creative in that way now in terms of imagination they engage in that a lot particularly before the age of five in what we would call pretend to play and this is something we all know children laying games that don't really have rules are just sort of like simulating real life or a fantasy situation this sort of living it out right this involves taking objects from the real world and imagine them as different things so this is an interesting use of imagination we I often think about imagination like you're just lying there thinking about a beach or something but a lot of the times we can imagine something as someone else like a banana as a phone and the child knows that the band is not a phone but they are pretending that at the or you know they make a fort out of the cushions of the couch or something like that and that they're engaging in imagery and imagination and they're probably rehearsing how to behave in social situations and how to escape danger and all the other reasons that we play and that we we find a very charming and the reason we associate magic with children so much is because we grow out of that stage by the time we get to ages five to ten we're children sort of naturally become much more interested in games with rules and trying to negotiate the social world in terms of rules right so you often find you know eight year olds but for real just like Hey and have no rules or whatever in an eight year old spend half the time arguing about what the rules of the game what is the kids have imaginary friends maybe it's possible there's really a ghost in the house well so the evidence that goes surreal I find very unconvincing so as a science now I don't believe in ghosts but there are I can see why some people will interpret it that way sure and their many cultures that believe that imaginary friends are it maybe not goes but they might be spirits of ancestors or demonic things or something like that so there's a lot of variance in the culture and how accepting they are of imaginary companions imaginary friends but as in our culture people tend to think it's a little strange to have an imaginary friend as they try to shut the kid down the whole thing well early on often it's acceptable but by the time they're eight years older ten years old they start to think it's little abnormal and children senseless and they start and you don't have the go dark so they many children still have their imaginary friends when their age maybe even into their teens but they will just not tell their parents about because they sense that they we think it's weird it weird some out but they're not it's not a loose nation actually yeah imaginary friends are the kids know that their imaginary they do not.

"Percent of people voted for Marlin Mac and you had like thirty percent for girly and I saw is absolutely insane so I think people are riding him off for endows a it was a dynasty pool but I also think that like like regardless of dynasty Hennessy or of <unk> think early the best one of the group so I don't know what I think I think one of the biggest mistakes that people make when they play in dynasty St Leagues is that they look too far into the future <hes> you know they're thinking four or five years from now and that's just a wrong way to look at it for me when when I look at Dynasty Leagues I'm looking at this from this year through three years out. That's all out the consent clean up your give me three years if that player will give me three years. I'm good with it if I don't think I can get for years added player that I'm really not interested in dynasty but as long as I think that player Gimmie three years then I don't how many problems what happens after that gives me plenty of time to make moves before that point cups certainly for me I have the same mm perception I see people alike trading all the great players saying they're in a rebuild for Debbie pigs or something that which I find to be insane like there is a trade that I saw last time which is like Edelman for like a third round debbie big in the I. I was like I end. This wasn't scoring skirted around every book yeah. That's obsolete say I wasn't even like a startup. Daddy's like does has the next season Debbie's I made. I don't know what people are doing. There's obviously always like the people are new fancy football who is make us trades like that pole. There are some pretty notable figures who vote in that poll so I'm very confused as to why everyone likes seemingly seemingly <unk> doesn't like dogs early like even though the rams traded up into around select a d'oro Henderson matched a Malcolm Browne's offer she like I don't see him being like the twenty thirty touch guy he was last season but twenty touches in that offense as a red zone threat and your name's tod girlies. You're super super talented like I think this guy can he. He's definitely going to overplay like what he's been. <hes> like talking about as right now like worse than model own Mac I. I don't even know with your German. I haven't been my top five. I think people are definitely overreacting. So how about we move onto nick job. He's easy are seventeen and last year he was electric with a week seven onwards when he was started yet A._D._D.'s with like like numerous explosive plays like ninety two yard runs. So what do you think about <hes> their signing of cream on. How do you think that affects chubs redrafting dies evalu- think it hurts his dynasty value at all <hes> cubs air guy? They made that clear last year when they traded Carlo tied who was doing a decent decent job but job was just add explosive player that they really wanted <hes> good young kid you know not really any history of off field behavior. <hes> and you know. He's only twenty three so they they love what they have in him. That's not really going to happen what they did. Though was they went out and got really really really good depth for cheap price. <hes> you know he was a bargain basement price because of all the issues last year and that out Betas made sense for them especially in this league with running backs getting hurt left and right all it takes is one play when broken leg all of a sudden they're scrambling to finding running back while now for the second half of the year at least this year they're covered <hes> if they find that they really don't need that then it gives them options going forward. Maybe they try and move him or try and get something out of him. As it goes on maybe they signed him to a longer term contract. Did it just gives them a lot. aww options where they didn't have to lay down a lot of money to get a very talented player and I think people are like obviously Kareem Hunt. It was inexcusable. Remain High <unk> outside fancy in all that where he did was absolutely inexcusable but if we if we like try to look at it from fancy perspective like Kareem Hunt was one of the best running backs in the N._F._l.. Last year and signing with the browns grounds that offense like he they got him for a bargain price as he said and that just gives them options on what to do. So what do you think about do Johnson. I do think he will be traded or like <hes> if he isn't traded. Than how far do you think he slides in dynasty. I I think he slides forever dynasty if he's not traded. Let's face it. They didn't use them last year when they had a better opportunity. <hes> there's a very good chance you know they run them out as a secondary back this year right up until the trade deadline and then move him <hes> knowing that they'll have Kareem Hunt in a a few weeks later so at as far as I can tell that's probably the best bet for them. <hes> because Duke Johnson is another very talented receiving back. We've seen scene that was only a couple of years ago where he was you know top twelve back because of his receiving skills alone so we know he he has his plenty only gonNA be plenty of teams out there that want to talented he has so they may be able to get a decent number for him Aso so also another thing is like what do you expect the Backfield to look like post. We said I've heard a lot of Ingram Chimera with Chubb being like a better version of Ingram but but do you think it's going to be like that or do you think they're gonNa Ride Chao Ben just use as like a change of pace or <hes> just like a Saban back. I don't think they'll they'll you yeah. I mean he will be some it back. He's not going to be the starter. He's not going to be the bell cow. That's going to be joe but they are going to decrease jobs touches coaches to keep him viable in this league for a longer period of time again. They're not worried about us. Fantasy owners they're worried about keeping on the field for as long as they can because they think they got a home run hitter in an offense that is now filled with homerun hitters so they're going to want to keep him around as long as they can. Keep him healthy and you know the in one of the big ways to do that is to get him off the field every once in a while. Let somebody else take over and when he got some somebody like Kareem onto is as Allenton and can do all the things they need him to do. There's no reason not to give job some some breeders every once in a while Linden p creative it's all N._F._l.. Teams run by advanced <unk> players than we'd have so much more quickly on everything but yeah I I I see <hes> Chavez gang a few less touches but I still see him as like great fantasy option. I don't think that is going to take over as a lot of twitter in a lot of social media saying saying I don't get why they're saying that I get his talent but I think that Chubb is very talented as well just doesn't have that pass catching bilden so how about next they moved. It would problem if you're playing you know e._p._R.. Leagues you want that pass catching ability so you know a lot of people are really really high on job. <hes> I am a little down for just for the fact that they just don't throw him the ball like it's kind of same thing like if you look at Sunny Michelle in Patriots backfield he gets very under utilized coming out of the same college as Chubb but the but the thing about Michelle is I feel like he has a lot better pass catching catching them what the Patriots are utilizing him for. I think James Why they've kind of gone to like a James leads the only back really gonNA pass to but in a <hes> college like Michelle was he could pass catching. He was using his pass catching ability so the issue here is with James White. You have one of the most electric fast catching the league. He keeps showing that time and time again. I mean they had incredible year last year. <hes> you know a little bit of fade off at the end is a really starting to pound Michelle <hes> but whenever they need that that pass it back pass catching back you know white is somebody that at greedy trusts and that goes along way in that system <hes> so you know it's not so much. They don't think Michelle can catch. It's just that why throw it to Michelle when we got James White here that knows the system knows his quarterback quarterback rose in a lot better and you know has a lot of trust in why not use him. I get that but I think that they're gonNA utilize Michelle a bit more in the pass catching game just because they don't want it to be as predictable <unk> offense. James comes in probably going to be a pass. The Lynn Michelle says it's probably going to be a rush. I think that they're gonNA try diversify a bit more and having agree with that I agree with that. I just don't think it's going to be a real enough to make a huge impact on Michelle's value. I think Michelle has a lot of value but for me mostly that value is gonna come from the fact that I think he's going to. Have you know ten plus touchdowns this year yeah so would that how do you think <hes> because vows really puzzled by their pick. How do you think that Gaming Harris fits into that backfield thing I mean the Harris can do pretty much everything Sony Michelle this Yo can do you know he's he's a good runner is explosive? <hes> can hit inside can hit outside again. Just not a great pass catcher or or hasn't really been utilized in that effect. <hes> needs to work a little bit on his pass blocking but you know he's a good decent all around back. It's GONNA be interesting. I I think what it's going to end up doing once again screwing fantasy owners because they have different guys that can do different things and they're not going to be afraid to shuffling shuffling around. They don't care you know what your fantasy team does. Especially ballot check. I see says all di Bella check could care less about your fantasy team <hes>. He's trying to win an N._F._l.. Game he's not worried about your fantasy game <hes> so he's going to do whatever he feels he has to do and that usually includes using all of the different backs in some way shape or form. That's why it becomes very hard. I mean look at it last year. Just before the playoffs you know they get to goal line chances and he pulls you know Michelle and James Devlin the fullback. It's due to run Russia's for the touchdown the next year the next week <unk>. Everybody's a little frayed of playing Michelle because what if Devlin.

"Was of guys welcome into <unk>. This is your host vague are in today on privilege to be joined by Jim. Day is the CO director senior fancy analysts for F- I HAVE CHAMPS DOT com co host of the W._f._a._N.'s he football podcast and Co host of the new F._M.. Champs after dark podcast. He wears a lot of hats. Certainly they lot more than me but jen how you doing. Hey I'm doing good. Thanks for having me on that Nice introduction in yet. It's GonNa get really busy here. Over the next few weeks are going to be starting up the yet the fantasy football frenzy again on the F. N. T. S. Y.. Network so next few weeks really GONNA start to get dizzying. Let's get into some news <hes> real quick I because so I we have like the biggest news which was a Zeke was detained but not arrested arrested and that's something to be made certain of at a concert <hes> for out altercation with the event security member and so what are your thoughts on potential this discipline for him and like <hes> if this affects any bit of his fancy value. I'll see that's the thing what's it comes to discipline in in the N._F._l.. Kelly lost all credibility <hes> they do whatever they want. Every time is completely different. No matter what's written down babe work they come up with something completely on their own each and every time you know Jerry Jones is saying oh he doesn't take the N._F._l.. Will Discipline Tika and you know that may very well be but I just don't know if you can bet on that is very good possibility that he could see a one or two game suspension on this and if it's only a one or two game suspension the I'm not really going to push him down my rankings very far at all. I think we really saw his potential last year when they finally started to get get him involved in the passing game. If we see that trend continuing and I think it will I mean I don't see any reason why not he was one of the most productive pass catching backs in legalize. What is your and that was with a late start to the season for that particular aspect of his game yeah and I I remember I think he received like seventy seventy seven receptions? He caught a lot more passes they had in the past like pretty much doubled his pass catching production thousand while the knock on knocks on him Mike Prior to last season that he was a workhorse but he wasn't a pass catching running back but just adding that to his repertoire made him like one one of the best if not the best running back or player in all fantasy football so for me like just look at Zeke I see him as like for redraft. I don't they get really moves them anywhere barring any suspension. If it's one to two games I still have him in the first round and stuff but <hes> yeah I'm amazed slide in below like the elite tier running backs like Saquon e._M._C. Kamara <hes> gordon like maybe below those guys but on seem like falling very very far just because of this production but the other thing is like how do you think about dynasty because Zeke has shown that he has like he he has has a past history of getting into such instincts that result in suspensions and like law trouble so do you think that any of these incidents are continue following knowing him as in Dicey perspective or do you think he's just good. He's just good but you know there's always a chance. There's no no doubt about like you said. This isn't the first time he's had any kind of an incident like this. <hes> you know he's had suspension in the baths up it. Those things tend to add up eventually over your time with the N._F._l.. And could lead to a big problem but you know you can't really go in worrying about that. I mean no matter what happens here. The most I could see them given into game suspension. <hes> you know it's not like he pushed the guy with his hands or you know laid his hands on the guy. Just basically chest bump the guy. The guy fell over <hes> you know I can't see them doing much more than that but again we also never know what what they're gonNa do and that's the thing that bothers me the most with the Goodell's just everything's totally different you know come up with a set standard used at standard stick to it. They just don't do that. The inconsistencies in Goodell's punishments are they're. They're they're terrible for the League image like you have sern like horrendous crimes like a domestic violence on such not getting as much suspension as they should be but then you have like like lesser incidents like at like the same amount suspension this this <unk> it has to be pointed out that like you said it wasn't like a big push. It wasn't anything like that. It was like he barely laid his hands ends on. The guy in the metal fence just happened to be behind the event security member so I agree that. I don't think it's really gonNA affect him that Foreign Dynasty I. I think it's going to be a one game suspension. I I think too is in the realm of possibility but I just believe they'll be one game or no gains so I think Zeke should be fine fine. Most people forget that since he's been in the League for a couple of years ready but he's still only twenty three years old and now like pick people think that once you're in the league like especially treason's running back shelf life is so low when you're gang close at second contract people already start thinking about agent dicey which it it shouldn't be like that I'd like they do have a short shelf-life but people over exaggerate age for them a lot. It's a how about we talk a bit about Tyler Boyd. It's not not really any major news. He's dying extension. <hes> what do you think about his long-term prospects like. Is it good for him to stay in Cincinnati. It's Natty or would you prefer that he went somewhere else. He's got a good thing the problem is you know the the ambiguity of what's going to happen at quarterback. Are They GonNa stay with Dalton or they're going to go to the kid you know. It's just hard to tell. Dalton has been an okay quarterback for them. You know done a decent job for them but doc has never got over that Hump and I think they're really starting to to worry about that a little bit so this may end up being the last year for adult but you know again void. I like boy. We finally saw breakout last year at what I think. A thousand weights are thousand twenty eight yards seven touchdowns. I believe I've got my <hes>. So you know had a good year coat off seventy five balls just a a good year for him. I expect that trying to continue again. Another kid is only twenty four as plenty of time to continue to learn the game <hes> it'll. It's definitely better with A._J.. Green back in in house and it looks like A.. J. Green should be ready for the start of the season so that plays out well but <hes> the the quarterback situation situation is a little tricky but I like the kids count runs good routes. He has good hands as a good catch radius <hes> so I think he has a really good future ahead of him and he's definitely somebody darkening lot in dynasty start updrafts. It's interesting how you talked about how A. J. Green <hes> just to be clear he said A. J. Green like benefit or tyler. Boyd is benefited by A._J.. <unk> return correct or absolutely anytime you have somebody as talented as A. J. Green on the other side. It always draws you know a lot more defensive attention that way <hes> and you know considering that they have a very good running back Joe Mixon as well you know defenses can't just stack up against boy and he really took advantage of that last year. I think that trend continues this year and I I feel the same way. It says I want this to kind of lead into Juju Smith Schuster <hes> because people have been kinda split on him <unk> a lot of people have him as a tall by wide receiver. Some people have been like as a fringe a wide receiver one because they believe that <hes> Juju can't handle like number number one coverage <hes> an A._b.. Was Kinda lessening the load from that perspective so how do you think judy will do in the steelers offense this year and like compared to last well see that's the thing we don't know if he can handle that true number one if he can handle US double teams if he can handle you know getting off the line with two you guys opposite in is this is really going to be the first for him. <hes> excellent second season last you having no doubt about it. Fourteen hundred twenty six yards seven touchdowns excellent year one hundred hundred sixty six targets <hes> just monster numbers no doubt <hes> but when you have somebody like crown on the other side side again it tends to free him up Juju up for a lot more one on ones. Let's see if that's the case this year may very well see a lot more over over-under coverage a lot more to on one coverage so it's going to really need. He's really gonNA need to step up even further to be true number one and it's you know it's only going to help him. If one of these other wide receivers steps up and really becomes a true number two <hes> I expect Dante Moncrieff to take that role a lot of people are hoping it's James Washington but they had a lot of issues with Washington last year and I'm concerned because the one big knock seemed to be on him that he he was having a hard time learning the playbook and <hes> you know. I don't see that lessening a ton in year two maybe by here three but I think Dante Moncrieff is further along as a receiver. I expected to take that number two if he steps up and has a decent season that will help you but if they they're number two never gets fully set than I think Juju is going to have a rougher season that people are thinking by the accension. What do you think about a big Ben since Ben finished as top by quarterback last year but losing a B. is like he's one of the best receivers in the league? If not the EH <unk> definitely got negatively effect <hes> big band but how much so you know trying to figure that out what what's going to be the issue on this out old offense but the big thing is this offense is always survived with changes. <hes> this system works is offensive system system works at least it you know as far as fantasy is concerned. Let's put it that way since and that's really what we're talking about. <hes> their system is always produced. Good quality fantasy see numbers. I don't expect that to change a lot with Ben this year as a matter of fact he may end up having the throw war just because he doesn't have brown which may read him to even come up with bigger numbers just because he has to increase the percentage of his attempts and there's also some more news about the steelers <hes> <hes> in O._T._A.'s. It seems like this yours have been employing primarily to running back packages. James Connor came amount said that <hes> Debbie using two more to Ryan back packages in the season and Jones Samuels Kinda corroborate that statement as well so how do you think aspects <hes> that the guys <hes> Connor emeals actually you know it is it's too twofold here what they're trying to do you by using the two bags of being able to spread them and run them out of the I you know defense is really have to come closer to that box which they're hoping will free up Juju to more one on one coverage. You know get a little more open space in Sim zones things like that so again they're they're using that to back system so that they could try and create holes or gaps in the defensive backfield so that these wide receivers can find those open spots and it's interesting to see how the N._F._l.. Is kind of moving away from the worker system unless you have a lea running back like like the Zeke <unk> Guan's like C._M._C.'s of the world but outside of that you're seeing a lot more a Ryan back by committee or at least like a timeshare with like two people at least throughout the league prime example being the eagles offense and yeah they're. They're moving to a committee approach. I think this isn't GonNa go isn't going to benefit connor certainly but I could see people over exaggerating if it continues into the offseason and then he becoming value already. He's a at times like I I like James Connor Law. I think that Mike Tomlin has a history of using one running back even last year with bailout he's still used one running back and even if Jones Samuels <hes> get some pass catching third-down work. I think that James Connor still has that ability and his story with this cancer <hes> Mike Comeback..

"Boy, that was some nasty nasty nasty stuff last night. From James harden who pretty much right now as left, no doubt. He is the MVP of the NBA. Sorry, Jaanus unfettered Gupo wasn't their time. I eleven games of the year. We said Steph curry was on an MBA. Everybody's got half a season ago. A lot of ball left, man. I know he's playing spectacular basketball. I still hate the brand of all he plays. I find it very. I've never been a hardened fan. Just based on the way he plays the game. Looking for fouls rather not last night last night? He was a pure score. I mean, he hit some absurd shots. And you gotta take your head off to them and give a lot of credit. And I thought the warriors did a great job defending him for the most part nine free throws. That's a win for any defense in the NBA considering he took twenty seven the night before. So look, you know, he is he's going to be a lot of teams shooting that way. There's no question about it. And the warriors it to me I thought they played a pretty good game. As a group like we've seen them play some real piss poor ball. That's why I said losing to the Lakers by twenty without LeBron James. That's the kind of lost a pisses me off if we're doing a show after that morning, you'd feel different than you do today. No question. And whether or not harden is the MVP kidding aside. He probably will be an if he is. He probably deserves it. But I'm not going to like lose a lot of sleep. That was frustrating. But it's not the kind of loss. It angers me. Now that said you blow a seventeen point halftime lead, which I believe. Red is the biggest blown halftime lead since oh seven ad is crazy. I read that and Kerr Premark Jackson. We've leave you. And also the six point lead with ninety six to go. They haven't blown a homely like that since twenty eleven against wait for it the Charlotte bobcats Bob cat ball game. So confusing that earlier this morning, I referred to the box score from the Bob cat game as the Bob score. And I picked up what I thought was the Bob score. But instead it was the Bob score that medium impact. Brian ran in here. What happened twice? Sometimes Murville do that. And I started looking around like at my hearing sufferers. He actually saying that I'm glad you called out on it. Because Bob's let that go. That's the first sign of like just let Murph go. Let him drift off this kid. What's happening? Yeah. So anyway. Wow. Wow. Wow. In so listen, there's obviously two ways to look at it. We took calls on both sides of the fence, and you guys can call them right now to open for the next few minutes before we are going to get a little Clemson flavor from Bradley Pinon, the Niner. Punter Tigers ball man, I'm in and and Monday night, of course. And then at eight fifty we does. And then we're going to get a little piece of the hilltop with USF. Don's basketball coach Kyle Smith. What a great precursor basketball last night. And what's a nice convenient six PM started accommodated my schedule. And my needs very nicely. Digress. For just a minute. To say, paulie, MAC has been waiting for this dawn's ache you season for a long time. Thank you. My brother. Most ardent, Don basketball, all the time. He's done it. It's a very important. Don's basketball is very important to it. Really? Does. He goes back to the the elementary school days for me because my dad was taking me the dawn's games in the seventies. We used to live close enough that we could go right up the street in when I was a kid, and we but those teams were great teams that's hard to explain to people. Let me ask you a question does warm Morial Jim days gymnasium? Does it feel exactly the same to you? Or if they change it enough where you feel like I. Yeah. It's a lot. It's a lot more modernized than it used to be like even in the last five years we've seen a lot of upgrades actually with that whole bar situation. The last game I went to I am not kidding. You know, what I didn't have this in the seventies through they had their own DJ up on the upper level, dude like mixing them scratching they were giving us the VIP treatment. 'cause they wanted us to talk about him. They they let us into that that lounge they have serving cocktails. It's good for USF. It's you know, it's a proud legacy and they've been down for so long. We had Rex Walters on a few times over the years and stuff, and they had some pretty good teams. But never good enough to get to the tournament. I think this this year that's on the table. It is on the table. It is they're going to have to you may obviously strike the schedule. But that new net rating copes NET the net rating their top sixty. I believe right now, aren't they? Yeah. They're playing really good ball. They play excellent defense on the perimeter. And they don't give up second chance points. Does USA. Also, they they move the ball as a unit very well. For us. Frankie Ferrari, followed you on Twitter. He did I'm a fan. And then he got the ultimate blessing for the twenty one and under crowd, and that's a barstool sports a tweet directed at him. But they were kind of trying to roast them a little bit a little bit. But then even like Andy Katz checked in and said, hey, remember, this name, Frankie, Ferrari lakes believe that's an awesome. Were heaping praise on them last night during the broadcast, and rightfully so kids. Good ballplayer and beating Saint Mary's. After all the years of rainy Bennett just putting his foot down on USF. It was you know, it was a nice win last night feel about the white leggings of a Frankie Ferrari, you know, what? I mean. Dude that doesn't even faze me in twenty nine thousand nine I miss. I miss the Harry knees of an old of a Pete muravich at Johns stock a hiked up short Magic Johnson. Dukes, Harry knees. Yeah. Hey. Oh, man. What are you gonna do? Thomas. Yoga. Steph look down, no questions, Katie rock does those when you see knees anymore? You're freaking out. I remember who was it was it, Pat, the long gone, Pat McCaw used to flash knees. Klay. Thompson will give you some knee going leggings. He's old school like that. Anyway, I don't even know. Legos or not. But I do know that James harden is a bad bad bad man, who got a very satisfying win last night. And he hits the shot that Steve Kerr called impossible. And then he talked to fries on TNT right after the game..

"W r. Putting you back into the scored zone with Pete. Mccarthy. So we just talked with Jim Duquette four Mets general manager as to why Sirius XM, and he's listening to needs that the Mets we talked so much behind the plate. They need help. They're they need a lot of help in that bullpen, and he mentioned second base. My eyebrows, go second base feel like they're pretty good with Jeff McNeil. And and he is hesitant on Jeff McNeil being able to do what he did in his rookie season once again and McNeil only up for a month and a half two months, and he ended up getting a at least one third place for the year vote in the National League. Like he did he did hit came up at three twenty nine for the Mets. And I didn't feel that. There was a drop off as the season went along diplay sixty three games at the major league level. Nobody figured him out. Nobody figuring out the whole in his swing that. I can't handle this pitcher that pitch and he was consistent throughout his time at the big league level. And that to me is important, and is also he's not a slugger. He has good situational approach the plate to me. He seems like the kind of guy that is destined to have some success at the plate. He's gonna give you something. I don't see him being the kind of player that comes back craters hits to fifty. And you gotta make a move on. Kick and hit. He's got natural hand eye coordination. He's got the ability to put the ban on the ball. I really liked what we saw from Jeff McNeil and beyond. Just the numbers know just watching him play. It didn't feel like a guy playing above his area by a wide degree in. Surely he did this to some degree, but wasn't wasn't by a wide margin. This isn't a guy that you could just see cratering next year doesn't have a whole lot of talent. And one thing to keep in mind with McNeil. Yeah. It's not a full season at the big league level. But the dude raked AA dude raked at AAA any right again in the major leagues. And you can look back and his history and say he had some injuries here. That might explain why never took off it became a big prospect. And that might be something to worry about with macneil that if he is going to be potentially injury prone, and some of those problems of the past start to sneak up on them again, you could see that being an issue. But what I saw from him last year. I love Jeff McNeil the ball player. And I play any idea is going to be a star. It might be a little far out. But I trust them be second baseman for the Mets. Thanks, dear. And some of the steamer projections. They have you know, the projections that come out at certain times try to predict what guys will do next year. And you know, typically when you look at your team, you go he'll be better than that. And he'll be better than that. But McNeill, and they had him rated is like the third or fourth most productive player at least position player on the team. I mean, they loved what he did last year. And yeah, they see a little regression, but nothing too serious. And I think Jeff meals be able to play. And if that's one less need that the Mets have. Be aggressive at the top. As you heard from Jim days, honest, about them going half way, and they're not willing to to make the really big move. And then you start going for quantity and guys on one and two year deals, you might hit on a few. They hit on Bartolo Cologne years ago. But a lot of times you're not gonna get much out of that. You're not getting the real talented players and in an off season where you have two guys, but their prime of their careers ahead of them in Bryce Harper. Amanda machado. That's the opportunity to me specifically with Machado to make that run to say, hey, this is going to be our current cornerstone player. And this is the guy who's going to change our offense and make sure we headed home about that. It's something that's been a major issue for this team rather than again, piecing it together and signing. All right. This guy on a bargain deal, and this guy and this guy still around and you end up with an off season again like last year at a certain point you got to reach for the top talent. And not every player last year at the top of the free market worked out air Cosma wasn't exactly phenomenal. And the difference maker in San Diego. But somebody like Lorenzo Cain was in Milwaukee and the regressive or Christian yelich as well. And they were rewarded for it? And they played in the NFL CS after not being much of a factor in previous years. So when you are getting close. You gotta make the big moves and to be fair the Mets they did make it years ago trading for you and assess but as re-signing him twice right now, you need to one of another one of those kinds of maneuvers here. And if you don't pull it off. You just see this as being a mediocre season coming up where you cross your fingers that everybody's healthy and everything works out. And you want assessment as comes back somewhere mother's day Father's Day of you really want to be optimistic about it and is able to be own assessment as. Then everything goes, right? You could squint and see it. They go out get some relievers catcher. There's a way to do it. But you're asking for everything to go. Right. And if you're gonna take anything away from the last two years, and so it's never gonna go that way. Never all going to go perfectly to plan and everybody's healthy. Everybody expected to be productive is everybody hits to their career line. Doesn't work that way. And if you can. Not only make the big move. But prevent teams in your division from making the big move. I see Bryce Harper going to the Phillies Jim thought that inlands Debbie Manny Machado going into the Phillies. But both agree. They're gonna make a big move and do something. It's just a matter of which they end up with. But if you could play a little keep away matters. And it's Duke said, you know, there's room for creativity here. It's possible. I look at the free agent class. I don't think AJ Pollock is an answer in centerfield. I like him as a player, but he's been injured so much over the last few years, the Mets haven't exactly proven adept over the last few seasons at keeping guys healthy, you get the most out of them. That's not an organizational strength, though, it did improve at the back end of last year. So I'm not looking to make that kinda move that player doesn't excite me. Creativity. You wanna deal a Peter Alonzo? If you're that worried about his defense, okay? Are you going to bring back a center fielder? You include them in a big deal for catcher, and there's room to do some things here. But we have not seen the Mets pull off that big trade in a long time, and even the trades in the sandy Alderson era, the big ones. It was always we're seller here. So here you go. We're a buyer here. So, you know, cesspits comes in more than a whole lot of. Hey, we have a need you of a need. Let's get together and make this work. How often do we talk about the cubs and the Mets would they come together. Make a deal the Mets get a dealt one of their pitchers for a hobby bias someone. We talked about a lot over the years. How different to the Mets look today. Are they in a better situation beds? Watch pitcher you end up moving. But they never I felt made the kind of risk taking move or creative move. They went and did hey where contender right now. So we'll buy you on assessment as give up a Michael Fulmer give up the future. Hey, we're out of it right now. We'll trade for Zack Wheeler and dill Carlos BELTRAN r a Dickey goes to Toronto they're all kind of copy and paste moves, and maybe Brodie van wagon. It's gonna take more of a chance willing to do something a little more creative. But you look at free agency you go beyond Manny Machado, they're pieces there. But even if the Mets got to relievers a catcher, fill those holes. Still doesn't look like a real contender in an NFL division. Again. That's only getting better with the Braves and the Phillies poised to strike and both teams, but a lot of money to spend this off season eight hundred three to one zero seven ten again, eight hundred three to one zero seven ten to give a shout to the show. If you have thoughts on what you'd like to see the Mets pull off this winter. We'll take your calls coming up while NFL PEX in the eight o'clock hour and much much more. Royal till nine o'clock is the sports zone with Pete McCarthy on the voice of New York seven ten W O R. Yeah. We sorta stopped paying attention and racked up a lot of. Yeah. It was stressful. He blamed me for my credit card debt, and I blamed him for building that man cave. It's awesome. Anyway, we stop blame each other dinner.
