California already has all those laws and yet the reason why he's going there is because they've been having a spate of mass public shootings. In fact, if you look over the years, what you find is that since California's head, these laws, they've had many more higher per CAPiTA rate of mass public shootings than the rest of the country. So it's not really obvious to me why somehow we want to go and emulate what's going on in California and such, I would go and argue that there are types of gun control laws, the restrictions that they have have actually been responsible for these attacks and all the gun free zones that they've created there, the fact that in Los Angeles County where he was at last year they had only one concealed carry permit for every 5000 600 adults

"Republican rhetoric has put a target on the backs of all law enforcement. And I say that with concern with two brothers who serve as police officers and walk the beat every day because if you're hearing defund the FBI and that the FBI was responsible for a false flag operation, you don't distinguish between an FBI special agent and police officer in your community. You just consider it as law enforcement and the quote unquote deep stated. And so that's why we saw the attack that we did at the FBI field office. Do these people not understand the difference between these two communities? They do not understand it. And it is absolutely disappointing, depressing and awful, that the left in America, Ilhan Omar, she looked like AOC, Jim Clyburn, Nancy Pelosi. Their push to anti Israel, anti zionist, like beyond anti semitic agenda so far that now as well as pulling low solo with American public. "Tourists on welcome to America first. Thank you for having me. So much to discuss, your sister told me you love to talk, so this will not be a difficult interview. She said, I said, these are the questions I want to ask, what else should I ask that? You don't need any more questions. He loves to talk. Tell me about this gun that has taken the industry by surprise, looks very different, shoots very different and apparently has a very different internal mechanism. Tell us about the 5. Well, the 5, first of all, we nicknamed it the Mona Lisa as we were developing it over 7 years. It has a patented recall system, basically what it does without getting into all the science of it. It changes the way the gun has a recoil and how it absorbs into the body. So that it is a more manageable recoil, more straight back than up and down, like a flip, you know, with your cadence and stuff like that for your second shot. It's much easier to keep your optics and your gun on target and go for that second, third, fourth, 5th, 6th, tenth shot, you know, as quickly as possible. And of course, the trigger system in there is a single action trigger with a 1911 grip, so it points true, not like some other striker fires out there or something like that. And when I say striker fire, it's because it looks like it's a striker fire. But it's got a hammer inside, right? So it's got a much better trigger. Oh yes, internal hammer fired. It comes with about a 5 pound trigger, but it feels like it's one.

Jim Carafano Unpacks the Various Balloon Stories FLOATING Around
"Carrano JJ caravan are to his friends on Twitter. It seems as if every permutation, the balloon story gets worse. Now we know apparently a hobby club has claimed one of the balloons that was shot down. What's it going to be next? The girl scout, so we're attacking. Yeah, so to be clear on this, when the first of all, there's no question that the first balloon blown to China, they set up a lot of China. Surveillance platform. It was not directed. And so the notion that it just drifted its nonsense. It was emitting. And it was passing over a U.S. targets. So clearly that was a spy thing. When they announced the other balloons, my first reaction, you know, because you always go with what's the most logical explanation for what you have. Is it would not surprise me having gone through the risk of doing this that the Chinese would send multiple craft at multiple attitudes in different configurations just in case. To try to get as many gaps as they threw and get through. So to me, if they all turned out to be Chinese blues that made perfect sense. Well, you know, now we find out that first of all, they backtrack the first balloon to China. They actually followed it from the launch in China. Right. So these other balloons, okay, if they tracked one, wouldn't you expect the others to have a track, right? If you actually, now that they've released the flight, the discussion of the F-16 crew, they shut down one balloon. It's very clear that what they're describing is not a surveillance balloon, right? And so I don't really at this point know what is worse. If we had been attacked by three more balloons or the fact that the U.S. government in a moment of panic randomly shot down three balloons over the United States.

How Do Other Nations See Us? Jim Carafano Explains
"With our good friend our Friday Nash security buddy. He is the vice president of the heritage foundation. I hope you remember, go right now, heritage. Jim, you're a 5 O one three year foundation. You do not do politics, but your identity is conservative. We've talked about how other nations look at us in response to the balloon, whatever story. Got to ask you, how do other nations look at us when somebody who says they're conservative was a former chairman of the RNC, says something like this and uses the word fascism in the current context, play cut. But you know what is increasingly becoming a thing? Fascism, from Republican lawmakers appearing alongside Nazi apologists to coup defenders getting plum committee assignments to public expressions of belligerent nationalism and racism. We're getting a pretty clear picture of what fascism can look like in America. The stagnant ineffectual party isn't just about dysfunction. It isn't about it's just isn't about failure to move an agenda. It's about settling partisan score. That's what dictators do. That's the former chairman of the RNC, Michael Steele. From a foreign policy's perspective, what ramifications are there, where the former head of a party says, my party is dictatorial and fascist. Well, you know, it's funny that you ask that question because I was just in two different countries. And in the last two days, I hosted heritage. "With some very sexy stuff, nuclear artillery when you're in the army. Can we hypothesize what they're looking at? Are they mapping power grids or are they mapping military installations? What are utility to the system? Well, see this to me is the truly intriguing question because China has an exquisite and growing satellite capability, particularly at low earth orbit, which are perfect for surveillance of, and so the question is, if they've got really good eye in the sky, what do they need to do? Why do they need this? Now, we should make clear as we use aerostats. The Russian Jews them, you can do some pretty cool things. But they're like niche capabilities. You want to loiter in a specific place. Or something. And so the question is, what niche thing are the Chinese looking for that they think they have to do this? So here's an interesting historical. During the early years of the Cold War, the way we got Intel on the Soviet missile fields is we flew aircraft over at such an incredibly high altitude in such a revolutionary airplane that the Russians couldn't they would fly up and the planes would literally fall out of the sky. They couldn't hit us until they could hit us. And what was the Russian response to that? They didn't say anything. They never admitted that it was happening because they didn't want to be so embarrassing control their own airspace. Right. We just showed the world that we can not control American airspace.

It Wasn't China's First Spy Balloon With Jim Carafano
"Let's just play because it horrified me. This is a one star air force general. Who's asked about Americans rights to know what the flip is going on. Cut 5 Patrick Reid at Brigadier rider. Position of the balloon classified? Phil right now, what we're not going to do is get into an hour by hour location of the balloon again. We're monitoring it closely. As I mentioned right now, it's over the center of the continental United States. That's about as specific as I'm going to get. I understand by being convenient, but as the public not have a right to know the public certainly has the ability to look up in the sky and see where the balloon is. Yeah, because you can see balloons at 60,000. So you can tell us where Santa Claus says, but you can't tell us where the balloon is. I mean, this is just ridiculous nonsense. So one of the to me, one of the stunning things here is that's come out today is they've acknowledged that the Chinese have done these balloons before. And not just here in Guam over military targets in Hawaii over military targets. Apparently there's one in Canada, which is where we have our strategic early warning system. So is this supposed to reassure us? Right. And all of a sudden, why did they tell us? And here's blinken was going to China today. Now, can reassure me that the U.S. government didn't know that this overflight was happening. And they were sending blink in the China and hoping that nobody actually noticed it.

And in the same hangar as the beast one stealth bomber and the SR 71, one of the best planes that we've ever. One of the coolest, if not the coolest plane ever made, the black bird sorry carry on. I would give my left arm to take a ride in one of those. But hanging in that same hanger are unmanned drones. That's the air force let people see. Which to say we don't have an unmanned drone that they don't want us to know about. That could get up there and get that balloon. Well, that's the question. That's what I don't know. Yeah, we don't draw people in and throw 20 people in the classroom and just throw information at them. I will go into somebody's house. They know their house better than anybody. So we can identify their stronghold. If someone comes in with bad intentions, we'll be able to tell them exactly where to go and draw that lane in the sand.

We'll talk about what's actually going on here because you raise a really good point. Just a few weeks ago, Joe Biden was on top of the world. I mean, he didn't get trusted in the midterms. It was like he basically pushed through a ton of his leftist agenda, so he could turn to the left to say, look, I accomplish what you want. And he was so emboldened. And then to me, it's really careful. So emboldened that even went to the border, of course, had been criticized for not doing that for two years, and now he goes, why? Because you feel so strong and so powerful that it can go to reports lie his way through this and get away with it, right? I am impervious to this. And you have two weeks later, he is really under assault. And I think it shows the fragility of his power. And so I think very much world leaders are back to where they were. Before the midterms worrying about, does this guy really have what it takes? Is he really solid? Is he really the leader of this country? You go from such a seemingly powerful position to stumbling over talking points from his lawyers about the documents. Right. And he has a distracted. And because they don't really think he is a strong foreign policy president, even in Ukraine. We have to remember he was dragged into Ukraine. His national security adviser Sullivan, every day says, let's just cut a deal and get the hell out of there, right? So Brits were embarrassing us in terms of their forward leaning. You know, even look at Iran. I mean, the Europeans have been really tough on sanctioning the Iranians on their human rights abuses. And the administration is almost been adrift. So I think the world opinion is we're back to maybe this isn't the guy that's going to be around in two years and maybe isn't the strongest partner right now. So that's true. The substance of it, as you know, is in the military for 25 years. And I had a clearance every day. And I dealt with classified information in my entire career. So there's a couple of things on this. First of all, they tacitly said, yeah, we miss handled documents. Yeah. Right. Well, that's wrong. And when they say we inadvertently did this, that's a completely meaningless statement. No matter. If you go, if you leave a top secret document in a Starbucks, when you walk away because you're sipping on your pumpkin latte, or you hand it off to a Russian agent, it's still wrong, it doesn't matter why you did it. These documents were given to you as a trust and you violated that trust. If your bank called you up and said, you said, we lost all your money. We're sorry. It was a mistake. You're like, but it doesn't matter. You're still lost my money. Dude. So they've actually admitted that they did something wrong. I think the second thing is, when people say, well, contrast this with Trump, with Trump, it was a dispute over custody of the documents. Yes. It was never a question of these documents weren't properly maintained or compromised. It was a question over who should own them. That's actually a dispute. That's not a crime. That's not even doing anything wrong because he was a president what Biden did is clearly wrong. And so and I think the worst thing of all is and this happened months ago, the DoJ and The White House intentionally planned to bury this entire story and there were never going to talk about it, even though what they did was worse than Trump and they use this thing to hammer Trump politically. And they were just going to ignore their problems. And just send that to the American people. And not only that, not only did they know about it months ago, not only did they know about it before the midterms and sit on it. These are documents from 6 years ago. They've been floating around Jim, not for a month or two months, 6 years. And you can't assume that because, well, the documents are still there. Nothing was compromised, right? Because people who spies who aren't stupid, and there are a few in this world, if that is a classified document, it's not folks. But let's pretend that I'm not going to steal that document. It's not classified, but hey, what? You don't need a minox camera from a James Bond movie. I think people have cameras in their phones, right? You would make a copy of the document. You wouldn't run. Nobody steals the documents. Hanson didn't steal the documents. The pumpkin papers they copy the documents. And because they don't want you to think they're gone. "This is cotton 9 the head of Homeland Security. Fema is providing emergency food and shelter program funds to help cities around the country recover or defray the costs of non citizen arrivals. CBP and ice are working closely with cities to share information and coordinate the disposition of non citizens in immigration enforcement proceedings. Just the orwellian phraseology, non citizen immigrants. There's a legal term for that, and it's not non citizen immigrants. Because in the old days, you could go and you could build a coalition for policy for Republicans and Democrats. Both sides. Right. And so you could say, here are my hawks, my democratic hawks and Vietnam here are my democratic hawks and Republicans and together we and you can't do that now because the parties are kind of ideologically opposed. And so what happens is instead of politics ending at the water's edge, foreign policy becomes an extension of domestic politics. Now this isn't true. Look, we're all strong on NATO. We get that. We're going to support Ukraine. We get that. But when you get to things, for example, when a Biden is in power, they're going to walk in, hi, I'm the American Secretary of State. Tell me what you're doing about diversity and then talk to me about your agreement agenda. Right. And that's the opposite. That's the big deal. Okay, we managed to lock him in. "You've served this nation in uniform for more than 20 years in the U.S. Army. You fought the Cold War, are you ashamed of what we represent in terms of the administration and business leaders? So this is ironic. Because on the one hand, they talk about global norms and all this other human rights. Right. But on the other hand, when China or Iran or even Russia to these horrific terrible things, they just feel muted and embarrassed. And I think this is the difference between them and us. And by us, I don't mean we are neocons that want to go out and bomb everybody and bend everybody to America as well in the world. It's this notion of this is when we talk about America's global interests and responsibilities. It's not the World Economic Forum and globalism and global governance. It's about what's in the best interests of the American people and often we find out it is standing up for, you know, I say this all the time. What's the difference between us and Russia and Iran and the United States fundamental America and all the countries and people in America and that we have all kinds of different things. But fundamentally, we and the free world, whatever you want to we believe in basic human rights, not being beaten up and thrown in jail, not being allowed to pray. We believe in human rights, we believe that the governments ought to be elected by their people and the government ought to be accountable to their people. And we believe that I don't care some version of the free market system, whatever you want to call it. You work hard, you should get rewarded for that, right? And you should have private property. Exactly. Right. We believe in those things. China, Russia, Iran, they don't believe in any of those things. And not only do they not believe in them, they see their mere existence. As a threat to them. As the ultimate obstacle, the expansion of their power and influence and it must be destroyed. And that is why if you are in Moscow and Beijing in Tehran, you wake up every morning with one that today I hope is the last day America is in the world.

Everybody, WeChat our own SEAL Team 6 guy. I mean, it wasn't SEAL Team 6, but they look like social security. Yeah, they look like something out of the movie. And everywhere we had like this arsenal. And I was just like, I've pitied anybody that would come after us. But these were supplied by the Ukraine government. This was actually these were actually supplied by the Polish government. Wow. And so we went to bucha, which is the high water mark of the Russian incursion towards the capitol, which is stunning how close. Where there was basically genocide. Right. So the town horrible, terrible. I mean, one is how close they actually got to the capitol. The other is, is the destruction was just terrible. I mean, including obviously blowing up things that are not military targets in any way. We'll show some photographs and then of course this is a scene of one of the mass burial sites. And tragically on the day we left, they found it even bigger mass barrels. People bound tortured. Families bound together in the latest. Hundreds of people thrown into a hole in the ground. And no matter what you take away from this, no matter what side you're on, if you're a neocon or a restrainer or whatever and you want nobody can think that Putin is a global player. And the notion that you would just sit back on your hands and just let him run wild being the murderer and soulless godless killer that he is. And think that someday that wouldn't come after you. "It's incredible. We're still gleaming. While in office, Abe met former president Donald Trump several times to reaffirm Japan's military and trade alliances with the United States. His political opinions were controversial. Look, first of all, if we learn any lesson from here, why any nickel of government funding of taxpayer money goes to NPR is beyond me. They allowed the memory of Castro and dictators when they die. Single handedly, he was the first leader in Asia to stand up and look and say China is a threat to all of us. And they were the national defense forces. They were deemed to be internally focused. Marjorie Taylor Greene is qualified for reelection. The fact that that actually has to be something I say on an American radio show is absurd. We are back with our good friend. So the Biden administration allegedly leaks to The New York Times. They quote unnamed senior intelligence officials that the United States provided intelligence to target Russian generals and the mosque var, the ship that was sunk by the Ukrainians. And that's great. We should celebrate that. The actual public recognition of that vice, the former defense secretary saying, oh, Donald Trump asked me about whether we could use surgical strikes against the Mexican cartels that are killing a 100,000 people with drug overdoses in the last year. Jim, is there a little bit of a double standard in the coverage of those two stories? So, I mean, let's talk about the New York Times story because there's a difference between a leak and I'm telling and that's right. An authorized background. So you can say, you know, oftentimes, they'll say you can say this, but you can not attribute it directly to me. You can say a senior official. Sanctioned anonymous. That's not a leak, right? If somebody leaked this, hey, hey, guess what we're doing, right? That is actually a violation of operational security. That's a completely unprofessional. It's actually, it is actually. It could be, it depends on the information that you're leaking. If that's classified information, that is a crime. If you remember, for example, the senior officer that leaked the information that the U.S. had contributed to stuck next, the cyberattack on the library. And he paid a price for that. So if it's a leak, it's another mark against the professionalism of the U.S. Military leadership. Go ahead and say this. I accentuate an authorized release of information. Let's take some credit for this. It's just kind of amateur hour. You should never be divulging operational activities in the middle of an armed conflict because you're putting capabilities at assets at risking your telling the information. It's like showing your show and your cards. Yeah, it's showing you what you're doing in your plan. Showing your cards in a card game. So during World War II, I know you know this, but during World War II, we actually read the Japanese diplomatic traffic, which essentially the information they were sending back and forth to their embassies, telling them real military secrets. I was called magic. It was a code name. And we were reading the German naval codes. Which again had all this information about what they were and that was called ultra. Did you have a college, give a price? When that information was publicly released. And the answer was over 30. Years after the war, because it wasn't, we weren't just keeping information about.

You're doing some super exciting things with European members of parliament here meeting with and talking behind the scenes with our buddies across the across the sea, talk to us about Hungary, what you saw in Hungary. And especially this issue that we addressed a little bit with cabin yesterday. Well, it doesn't matter. It's 8000 miles away. And the border is more important or Canada is more important. It was a perspective. And it is disappointing to hear that from fellow conservatives who are the actually have been good in the sense that there are people that when conservatives in Europe were demonized as, well, these guys are fascists and Nazis and everything else. People have the courage to go over there and learn about who these people are and recognize that they have their challenges, but there is so much that we have in common love of family, religion, preservation of democracy, peace through strength. You know, many of the things that we embrace here, and you said that this crisis right now, a true true tragedy could in fact be an opportunity for conservatives everywhere. I mean, I think we can learn it. So I'm glad that they say, okay, we care about Hungary. We care about Poland. We see that one of the things they want. And I go, look, I just went and talked to these people. They care about the Ukraine. They don't want to see Ukrainians. And then they told us, they don't want to be next on the thing. They know where this is going. They want to be free. And it's like, can you understand the people that you like and you admire? They are concerned. We need to be concerned because it's something we share. And this goes to what we were talking about in the last segment about America's transforming, we are moving to a country that wants to set the agenda, not having elite in Washington set the agenda. We are recognizing that really the things that value to us are free markets, decent economy, getting dead under control, secure borders, our families, educating our kids. That's happening in Europe. "I have to ask you the question because even on the conservative side there's a conflicting of course because we believe in that. Some people are saying, there was never going to be an invasion that the 130,000 troops was just a blast to get some kind of concession from NATO to say, no, Ukraine could never enter. I don't think you deploy a 130 guys just for diplomatic pressure. What is Jim caravans take on the strategic intent of that actor? Well, the answer is we don't know, because Russians intentionally do disinformation, misinformation, misdirection deception. It's part of what they always do. And that allows them to have you guessing until they do what they're going to do. They have everything in place to evade. If I were a betting man today, right this second. I would bet that they're going to pull a trigger. But it doesn't have to. He doesn't have to. And he could change his mind, right? If he actually was going to invade on Wednesday, as soon as Biden came out and said, we could have been on one day, Putin would go, let's not invade on Wednesday. They don't Thursday. Make gluten look like you look the bite and look like an idiot, right? So I know that sounds like Larry. The guy from the Bernie Sanders invitation. But I don't know if I can tell you. It was my best Putin. But the point is, is, you know, he is, but it's never about the Ukraine. Think about it. Putin is Ukraine never joined NATO. We never gave them offensive weapons. We didn't show it. But it gave up their nuclear weapons in the Budapest court. But I'm saying we never shut down Nord stream two. And Putin's going to invade them anyway, right? If he does as somebody who served in uniform, who follows these things, it's just going to be a partial annexation of eastern territory, correct? I don't know. First of all, I think the Ukrainians are going to fight. And I think they'll fight hard. The one ethnic Russians. No, the ethic Russians will fight hard. You think? I do. You know, the one thing that Putin's actually managed to do is Ukrainian nationalism has gone through the roof. It has. The one thing I think is Putin threatening Ukraine is exactly why everybody wants to join data. Correct. Right. Bingo. But they will fight and here's what we know a lot of people will die. And a lot of people will be displaced. And it's not because anybody threaten Vladimir Putin. No. It's because Putin decided to do it all the blood will be on his hands and all the horror will be on his hands, but the point is is regardless of what happens. It doesn't matter because that's not the endgame. He wants, he wants to reabsorb this post Soviet states, he wants to have dictatorial control over Central Europe. He wants NATO to collapse. He wants America to leave and the biggest cheerleader is the Chinese because they want exactly the same thing. They want a weakened Europe that they can divide and conquer they want to isolate the America America and leave us alone and stranded. And Putin is doing G's work for them. So people say we should really worry about the China. Dude, Putin is their stooge. But it's more than that. China wants the same thing in their region. They want a region where nothing happens without their say. So even if he doesn't invade. He wants to control the future of those countries. Yeah, and it was in Romania and Moldova and I was saying that one of the real, you know, we talk about vaccines here in the differences in those countries, the vaccine usage rate is extremely low. Even though they have plenty of vaccine and they have lots of infrastructure because the countries are bombarded every day with Russian disinformation, saying all kinds of crazy. Because here's the Russians aren't doing this because they have questions about the vaccines or they want because they're not mandatory in these countries. They're doing it because they want to make these countries as ungovernable as possible. So trying to destabilize. This is what I said. We used to teach together.
