"I'd like to see the battle of the retired news women locally, Kit Andrews. Against Carol Williams. What about Carol Williams? V. Normal, Rashid? It's either we can be sure I get around Robinson Cam e involved. Uh, yeah. Got to be retired, though they got to be retired. That is true. Yeah, that could be a rainy Ross involved Betsy Ross. My money is heavy on bets. Yeah, come on now, And do they do it for charity? That's is that I was just thinking about any of these matches would raise a ton of money. For charity. Let's talk to Kenan Mason about it, Ken, What do you have? Well, first of all normal can't wear her shoulder pads in that fight. Just so you know, nice. Well played. She was famous for that. As Jerry Springer. I would say, um, my fight would be Marty Brennaman. Against either two people. He seems to just like the most of his commentaries, either Jim Baden or Tony LaRussa ph. Jim Bone, You can't stand those guys. That's fun. Keep me up for it. I think he would. I don't think he'd back down Get to Tony LaRussa. He's a feisty old bird to Oh, Marty, and he's right. You still got so he's got that piss and vinegar and he's ready to rock and roll. Jeremy and Milford. Who do you want to see Fight? Man? I want to be a playoff. I want to see Chuck Schumer versus Jerry Nadler. And I want to see the winner of that takes on Gavin Newsom versus that shit. Oh, Adam Schiff. Yeah. Alright. There we go. Right? A lot of money there. You got. Hey, man, we're gonna we gotta We gotta be promoters. We have to promote this. We're giving away a million dollar ideas here. Give me one at a huge check to see me fight. Who would I like to see you. Right? See, I gotta Let me think about it for a minute because I have to see somebody. Do I have to think of someone Who would be a That you're not who's not going to destroy you, or you're not going to destroy them. I want to see you won't see. These two guys are swelling. What does all Clint Eastwood movies stripped to the waist in jeans? Come on, put them up chip standing at the background. I mean the whole nine yards. George, what's going on in Columbus? I'll tell you what. There's a lot that you guys are having a great show. My perfect my perfect match up. Is Gilbert Gnarly versus Willie. Given Harley G n I l Eva and I'm taking Gilbert all the way. I love it. That's uh That would be a good match. What about you vs wild man? Can we bring that back for charity? I think the American public would like to see that. You in the wild man. That would be much of a fight. You think you're taking our Helly now? Wild man. If you're listening, those are fighting words. He is beyond confident right now. So if you want to step in the ring and do some good for some money, not too confident that I can beat a lot of people up. But I'm pretty sure I can handle while man sounds like I dare to me. 749 7800 the big £1.700.

"I've got my final hour ready to rock and roll. We are Template attempting to Established contact with Jim Duquette. Former major league baseball, Gentlemen. You provoke the Mets and the Orioles on now we got coast for Sirius XM and does met TV work. On their table out. Let s and why. It's a pretty big moves around Major League baseball, so I didn't want to catch up with Duke. I try and get him up every couple of months. I think he's one of the best faithful. I was out there. These days, so will reach out to Jimmy D and see if we can get money Telephone line Game Two of the triple header of the NFL wild card playoff Sunday is underway. Saints driving first possession, They drove it and Flattened out and ended up having to punt. The Bears didn't get anywhere. The Saints are now into the end zone for the first score of the afternoon, and this one Michael Thomas, back off the injured list with his bum ankle catches about a nine yard touchdown pass from Drew Brees. I would say to put the Saints up sex, and nothing will keep an eye on that game for you, but You want to spend a couple of men stocking all things baseball with my next guest. The aforementioned Jim Duquette joins me here on CBS portrayed Yo, Jimmy D Johnny Mack here. How was your New year? Bring back everything That was good, Thank you. Hopefully staying with you. You could stay in healthy, healthy as I can be in this covert world in which we live, which means staying home and not leaving outs and living like a hermit, but breathing and upright. So that's the most important thing doing that pretty well. These days. Um You're staying busy with the activity of the Mets. The big trade that they made this week. Um, sure did Janette's and why talking about it? You talked about it playing on your serious XM show. I did a bunch of shows in New York around the holidays couple before Christmas. A couple after Christmas, and I got too many met fans saying Well, when is the new owner with the deepest pockets in the world going to start spending money? And I said, Who have you lost? Who is he? Not? So I was because of me. You've gone elsewhere and signed that you desperately had to have is a Medford that Well, he's got all his money. Why isn't he spending it well dipped to get Frankie Lynn Door and Carlos Caracas Co. Uh, didn't know that was the route They were gonna go. I do. It's gonna be like most my fans free agency. Were you surprised when you got the word that will endure was now met. Yeah, I think that's the thing that's it stands out about that trade. Not that they traded for him, but he had a kind of given us the blueprint earlier in the winter that he was I didn't have the upper level prospects to match up. You know, it's gonna be difficult to make that type of trade. Um and so you know that got everybody kind of looking at the free agent market and okay, they can. And Trevor may and Okay, there's all this conversation about George bringer. And and then you know the Sandy and Jared Porter. They do an end around and a little fake. And all of a sudden, Yeah. They're deep in the discussions with Linda, and it comes out they get Carrasco too. So like that was a big surprise from that side of it. Um, you know, when you look at the what they gave up, Jesus. I thought it was a really, really good deal for them. They have depth in their model leagues with kid Mauricio, other plays shortstop, you know, down the road or to flip over a second base at some point. Hopefully, the Mets are gonna sign them door long term. So I think it kind of checked all those boxes. I thought a lot better than the last big deal. Uh, you know, Cano on dead Wendy is. In fact, I thought this trade Jody, you go back a little bit in time, But when I was in the front office when we traded for PS, I felt it had Ah lot of similarities in that in that regard. That would be a pretty good deal. If that's the way it worked out for the Mets. You mentioned that you believe that they can or will get him signed. Do you think that signing will get done before the year starts as the season plays out? You think you're gonna have to wait till the end of the year? And then he's gonna actually taste free agency. But Theo Nurcan, right? A very big check, And I don't expect this experience in New York to be a bad one. If they're going to get him inked for long term when you take its most likely to happen. Well, I think I'd be very surprised if they didn't reach out to him soon. Now I don't know how quickly this would go. But it's pretty pretty clear where you have to be to sign this guy in my mind. Machado was, you know, 12 years, 300 think it was attended 300 same age, But he was a free agent, you know s so you might be able to get him for a little under there. Some people would argue above that. You know, that was two years ago. But I think that's the range right. And so you kind of the important thing here is you have a target where where it should be, And you know he's going to try to ask for more. And I think in this circumstances environment, um you know, it's going to be hard to be asking for Mookie Betts money he can, but I don't think that's it. I think there's a lot of As you know, when we talked about good lot of good free agent shortstop next year, Right Trevor Story and Corey Seager and Carlos Correa Hobby Baez like that those air topsy along with indoor so so there'd be a lot of musical chairs going on a lot of uncertainty around that. You might think this is almost perfect fit for him. And so I would be surprised if they weren't able to do a deal. Let's say by opening day, give me the core asco aspect of this deal when he's healthy, and that's a big if, because he's had a lot of injuries over the course of his career, including last year s. So you can't say that in a vacuum, assuming his health because he just has been a often did player, but for the purposes of this conversation If he gets his 20 high 20 starts 26 27 starts for the Mets over the course of the year. I don't think his contract is outrageous for his talent level. Um, what they do have two more years Commitment. How big A pill was that for the Mets to swallow hard today? Not even looking as a pill they had to swallow. No, I think they looked at it as a really good addition. I think Listen, Carrasco had to 90 year a that this past year was comeback Player of the year coming off of the key MIA there that he had the year before in 2019, so You know when you look at him, you know, the stuff is still there didn't look like there's much of a drop off. Uh so I view it as a positive, You know? No, Jim Bone, and I did our show today and you know, he thought he was the number two starter Hedda Stroman. I think Mixed in Stroman, depending out how well they're pitching. Could you know Russell? That number two starter spot, you know, But so I think that's the range that they are now you know, And then and then that kind of bide your time until Syndergaard comes back. A Syndergaard's capable. You know, we always capable of you've never puts together. He's your true number two, but I think that's where he you know, Carrasco kind of fits for me..

"Holy Grail, Banks Budweiser and you, D F I'm Jim Day and my pleasure to welcome in You know him from The Cincinnati Enquirer Cincinnati dot com. Long time beat writer of the Reds, who recently announced his retirement No, John Fei, you can't retire. We brought you right back in here to the hot stove league. How you doing, my friend. I'm good. I'm good. A little. I told you before we came on the air that when something happens with the Reds, I'm ready to react to it. And I don't really have to talk to my wife about it, I suppose. And I put a couple things on Twitter. But it xylitol different, But I'm happy with what I did. Well, you still have Ah, large following on Twitter and still have your hands on the pulse of the Cincinnati Reds and baseball. Not gonna ask you about retirement. Does your what? Your weekend to it? Yeah. Four days. Great. Um, it's such an unusual time in the world, obviously, and in baseball not immune to that. We've talked about off season. This is going to be the most unprecedented off season we've seen And we say that we seem to say that every off season but this one in particular, this is real. This is a whole different dynamic. Um, are you surprised of what you're seeing? I mean, no one's doing much and it cove. It has really affected baseball, maybe more than other entities. Yeah, I think in an ordinary off season right now, the Reds would have their season ticket number pretty well dialed in so they can set their budget by that right now. They don't know. They're gonna have fans, but how many they don't know. I think a lot depends on what goes on with covert it and They've obviously made some moves to move some money around. To not offer contract to Archie Bradley and And Curt Casali that those were financial moves. So was the trade of ratio. Iglesias. Although we're talking about that a little bit. He only had one more year left. Hey, was gonna make $9 million. I think It was. They may have traded him anyway, in a normal offseason if they could get much for him, So I I e think that's a sign that there but is Nick Kroll told the writers yesterday that they're trying to move some money around so they they could make some moves. They do. They do have a big hole at shortstop s o. They have some money to spend there. I don't think by any means. Done and I don't think it's a total salary dump. I just think they're trying to get it in order so they can Fielder, there needs more so than than just bring back the same guy. Iglesias move Didn't surprise me at all. Archie Bradley. Maybe a little bit. But if they are trying to work around some funds to reallocate, um, to address him needs elsewhere of them, You know, I understand it. The rumors out there about and new cross addressed this and I give him credit for, you know, mostly you get the general manager Speak of, you know we're not shopping around Sonny Gray, which they may not might not be. Um, but he said, Listen, we talked about everyone just because we take a call on a guy. Yes, we've talked about him. That doesn't mean we're going to do anything. Um, but I was a little surprised that his name was thrown out there as a possible trade target. But I think that crawl address it very, very well. Yeah, I think with anybody, you throw the name out there that the reason that surprised me is he is a very team favorable contract. You're not gonna be able to get a picture of his caliber. To step in for the money. He's making any makes, like $10 million a year, But again, you have to listen, because if you get a controllable guy who's not even reach, he's gonna make the major league minimum, which is about 550,000 or something like that for a couple years. Yeah, you want him if if he can plug in, but they're e think it would just have to be like the perfect Storm T o Trading because if you take him and Trevor Bauer both out of the rotation, you're you're losing on an ordinary season. You're losing 400 ending. So you have to find that somewhere. Um And it's really tough to find that kind of guy that Can take Sonny Gray's innings and make less money than Sonny Gray. So I think e again. I think Jim Bone was the classic example that that he would throw everyone out there and and see if anything happened. And it usually, doesn't it. I think teams listen to offers on all kinds of guys, and it's It's always There's been internal discussions about some player. Well, does that mean two guys in the Reds front office? We're walking down the hall talking about Mike trout. I think so. I think sometimes there's that much to it. I think there's a little more to this because because we've seen the situation where they've moved money that They think they are listening with all their veteran guys because It's really hard to get the budget in control and then be able to add unless you move some substantial money and other things that crawl talked about general manager of the Reds is in which I've talked about for several years when you're a small market team. You have to be creative, and I love when that sentence came out of his mouth, and that means making hard decisions. That also means trading guys at the right time. On Lee, though, if you're developing players, and you could move younger players in and have a mix of veterans now, maybe that's where the Reds have fallen. A little short will talk about being a small market team and the constraints Sometimes that puts on you. We'll talk about all right, Who's gonna be the closer now? And we're going to take your calls 513..

Brad Cisco the door puts idiots on the board with a run his first up this postseason. It is up in Cleveland Lindores fourth career postseason home run, but call was dominant on the mound and the to choose from Gerry Cole is swung on strike three strikes outside his seven strikeout up the day already. They new postseason career high with twelve strikeouts. In yet. Houston would be in trouble. Bottom six however, Terry Francona going to the bullpen. Andrew Miller facing Marwick Gonzales to second break minute. I the pitch is down the right field line. That's going to be a base. He already can't cut it off. Wall to be around. Third health score here come pregnant, he's safe at all. Score from first still delivers to double its doodle on Astro. And that is where we stand right now. Reminder, Golic and wingo featuring Mike Golic and Trey wingo. Sports life in the biggest names in the game. Six to ten AM eastern. Every weekday. Go WinCo hurt here on ESPN radio and seeing on ESPN news back to Houston for the bottom of the seventh alongside Jim bone. Once again, here's Dave Fleming. All right, John. Thank you very much. It is the top of the order against Trevor Bauer. The bullpen fired up now for the Astros, so maybe geared Kohl's after dude is finished twelve strikeouts in seven innings right Presley the right hander getting lose to the bullpen is George Springer stance. In Astros would love to add to their two one lead with the top of the order up against Bauer fastball for a called strike Jerry Springer but a great job Bauer did coming into the sixth inning being able to get gas. The pop up the second base and getting Maldonado striking them out on a curve. Ball could have been a lot worse for the Indians in the bottom. The six pitch is a curve off the outside and account is one and one day. He deserves a lot of credit that was a pressure packed spot for guy who has a little bullpen experience in his big league career, but he is a lifelong starter. So he's taken on different role here in the playoffs. Then he's used to. Pitch is low. Jordan won only one relief outing in the regular season. So maps that yesterday and now has more relief outings in the postseason. They did in the regular season with two. To to what Astros Springer in a two one count swings and misses calls. "Sports radio eight five five two one two four CBS in just a moment. Gun Talk a little or football. That's now drew baseball Jim bone. But first we are to talk some football segment. More call. Let's do it. Let's go to Portland Oregon knocks. Thanks for listening. You're on CBS sports radio. Something Bill first thing. First thing take your finger off the dump button, you cut so many people off. I got I got I got. Trigger finger the finger is you got it. Oh, well, not my job. I'm just kidding. Go ahead. No, no. No, no. Got. Thinking of his way or the guy all different things. I haven't seen it yet. Good. It's a more suspense only shows how Batty it at the very very end. And then they fought Bruce Willis in there. And he says nothing, but I wanted to talk about the Denver Broncos. I'm stuck up here in Seattle Seahawks area and my wife my three daughters are all Seahawks fan. I don't know how. But I love seeing them play Sunday wondering how you think we're going to do this year. 'cause I really respect you as a broadcaster. And I want to go from there. I did it knocks. Thanks for calling. No trigger fingers today. I like the Broncos and what they can be. If they have a quarterback who can be serviceable, and there were some mic signs this opening weekend from case keenum he threw several touchdown passes. And I think maybe three in front of me was the three, but he also had three interceptions. And so you measure this the way Bill bar sells said you have to that scoreboard for week one. He put up what twenty seven point twenty four points beat that Seahawks team that Broncos defense. I think is going to be pretty good. They hassled Russell Wilson a good deal. So the jury for me Knox is still out on the Broncos. I don't have an answer yet. I don't know yet. But I'm cautiously optimistic about that football team. And I think they have the chance to make the AFC west pretty darn interesting. If keenum can be good member last year and case keenum had a lot of weapons around a Minnesota. It turns out that feeling and digs those guys. Those. There's some skill there. No Delvin cook though. But still there's some skill. They're in a very impressive offensive line. Keenum was really good. He had what twenty two touchdown passes or I think just seven interceptions seventy nine somewhere in that single digit range. I think it was seven, and if he can translate some of that to Denver, and he has some weapons in Denver to it's not like he's going to a place that doesn't have any receivers. Then. Yes, I think he can have some success. And I think he's a pretty interesting quarterback that we had keenum on the show last Thursday great job by Stewart Kovacs making that booking. I say this all the time. I always say it just because you're good at what you do. Doesn't mean. You're a good person. Just because you're a good person. Doesn't mean you're successful doesn't always translate good person to great leader great quarterback. But I like case he was a cool guy. He was down to earth. He was likable. He has a chip on his shoulder, but it's not off putting and I could see in that Denver Bronco. Coz culture or they've gone through so many quarterbacks who haven't worked out who have had a bit of chip on their shoulder. Member Brock Osweiler was put out he got benched for Peyton Manning. Which at the time seemed a little off putting because he's Peyton Manning. Manning wasn't very good. And then it turned out Brock Osweiler is a bomb. And can't trace did you even know where he's at right now. I believe he's with the dolphins is of their backup quarterbacks. I was trying to think today who is on the street that the Buffalo Bills could go get right now rather than start Nate Peterman or throw Josh Allen to the wolves. And the only name I could think of was Brady Quinn. He's a friend of ours, and a friend of the show Matt castles in Detroit, and he already through a pick in his first game of the year. Osweiler. You said is the backup with the dolphin. They're just there aren't that many good options out there, the raiders cut EJ Manuel the former bill's quarterback after this. So he could be an option. I guess. All right. So cubeys on the street. I think that should be the move, by the way, I do think there's some irony in the fact that as much as tyrod Taylor showed some of his weaknesses in one game. The bills are in a position where they're gonna have to ruin the guy. They drafted to replace him in part because they don't. Have anyone to play? You could have just kept her on Taylor. Played him. He led to the playoffs last year. Right. It's not. And I think the fallacy of the thinking of the bills for an office, and they do deserve a little bit of credit to be fair. That's a long suffering franchise. And they did make the postseason last year wasn't a sterling records like they went thirteen and three but scoreboard Bill Parcells again, you are what your record says you are. And the bills records said they were playoff team last season. However, I think John Dorsey showed the shortcoming or the short term thinking of what the bills for an office was contemplating when they moved rod Taylor because it's not like Cleveland doesn't have a quarterback of the future. And they're plugging this hole for a while. They're in the exact same situation buffalo, they drafted a guy. That's their guy. In fact, obviously Baker Mayfield drafted a lot higher than Josh L. These decisions matter not just in the short term, but in the long term and whether Baker. Mayfield is starting to week three or Toronto. They're starting to week three. Whether Taylor is a great year or does never very good year. I'm telling you. It's a mistake by buffalo. You don't trade trod jelly when you bring a Josh Allen. It's a reason to keep it. You gotta make make sure somebody out and that's an assessment issue. I mean, we every one of us are enough from Peterman last year and that one game just to think yourselves. Do you really think he's got it five interceptions in his first game? And people have bad starts. I mean Sam darnold through pick six hundred very I play and we made fun of on the show yesterday. And he looked pretty good after that. But man, what are they seen in practice that he can't? It's like the opposite of Cinderella. Right. He's turned it into a pumpkin at the wrong time. I during the ball because zero point zero passer rating that's awesome on the front office. You have to be able to evaluate this guy properly. They obviously like Peterman enough they thought he could be a stopgap and they get rid of tyrod Taylor. And that's all I got off on a tangent. I love tangents eight five five two on two four CBS new phone number. Let's go to. Eric in Green Bay, Eric. What's up, man? Thanks for listening. You're on CBS sports radio. What's going on? So it's kind of half jokingly but half serious. I think they'd take any decent quarterback play out there. The name that I didn't hear said, Johnny football. He's he's been sober. He's been cleaned doing what he's supposed to over in Canada. And from everything I've read he's putting up decent numbers. You know, he looks like he's at a different level than the people around him what you should be. But I I would say fourth kicking the tires the guy. Definitely would hold it a little closer to the chest. And not wanna let all that goal. This time round also back and listen. Thanks, Bridget, man. My first reaction was no way. My second reaction was who cares. If Johnny Manziel gets David card, right? It's not like he's the future long-term plans of buffalo. Here's an I know this is not going to. I know this is not gonna come up. I get it. And he suing the NFL, and we'll we're way past that Colin Kaepernick still free agent is match up shop. Where's he at? The atlanta. I think he's Atlanta Atlanta. Yeah. Mark Sanchez is the backup. I think in maybe Chicago. I know he was for a minute. I mean, there's not a lot of guys out there, by the way. Do you wanna take a moment to to say and bring this up today, obviously is a really important day in this country. It's nine eleven we're not far here at our studios from the memorial. I intended to get down there today. I go by a lot on the way to work. Didn't do it. I might go tonight afterwards without walking down. And I have nothing I can add nothing overly poignant or new to the conversation. We're we are all as a country. At every moment. I think when we think about nine eleven on nine eleven probably unified and the reality that all of us can remember where we are. When that happened, whatever age was it ironic ironic, but I was actually playing a sport of all things when the first plane one of the tower, even though it was what I think of Tuesday morning. I was in Little Rock Arkansas and has never did this play tennis with a friend of mine before work and driving home. My story. My memory all these cars were stopped in the street. You know, and it was I mean, this isn't the war well before the Walking Dead, obviously. But just sort of a sign out of that just this eerie moment so didn't want there's not a lot I can add. But obviously thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted and whatever are difficult at times as a country. It is the greatest country on the face of the earth and is difficult as today is as a memory. It's also reminder, I think of our fortitude as. Americans. I am I was a newspaper reporter, obviously in Little Rock Arkansas brothers up when nine eleven happened. And one of the things that I was assigned was there was a flight attendant on one of the flights who whose plane obviously crashed into one of the towers, and she was from Batesville Arkansas, which was in it is in northeast, Arkansas and. I was assigned basically to interview her parents, not friends, but spent a lot of time with family her name was Sarah low, and she was on flight eleven and thoughts and prayers to her parents who got to know, anyway, we'll talk sports, but I did want to I want the show to go by without acknowledging that guys you remember were you in school when you were younger than I am. Yeah. I was in fourth grade. And I just remember the day coming home and seeing that scene the coverage. It's amazing thoughts and prayers thoughts and prayers to everybody today. And one of the memories I have of nine eleven by the way is a lot of things unified us in the days. At a lot of things reminded us of the best parts of ourselves with one of them was sports, right? One of them was these pretty incredible moments at sporting events across America as we came together as a country..

"The other charges i understand that flynn avoided had to do with violations of fleming called the farnese registration act while i've found a lot like the espionage act it's very different and those things were almost certainly having to do with his contract with a turkish businessman that was really with the turkish government and in that case i'm not trying to be a special cleaner here for flynn he had filed under something called the lobbying disclosure act but he did not use the more onerous foreign reagan say the station act uh and you know that that he probably should of in this particular eight uh again not you know sort of thing without that unfortunately in washington is something that is far more common that a lot of people say ally do you oppose the declassifying and publication of the newness memo then no absolutely not and i'll tell you why first of all i think that basically declassify in public the democratic response then hopefully declassify the original application for the fives warren on carter page uh the reason i think this is different if that new is memo is not telling as anything that we already didn't know it was already recorded the carter page was uh being surveilled the by the fbi uh as early as september 2016 uh in an article by a very good reported and michael isikoff pede reported that the fbi had received intelligence report but included carter page of meeting in moscow all that smell fishy i think that none of this stuff discredits the probe of robert muller into uh you know the rush influence operation in 2016 and their intelligence activities and potential connections to the trump campaign the problem man's is that when you have bits and pieces of that investigation that are leaked to the press it further politicise because that investigation and people like carter page are surrounded with all the suspicion without even being charged the climb and not having their you file that i think so much that's a columnist for bloomberg view coming up on bloomberg view we examine whether credit ratings firms will ever care about the borrowing beange in the united states i'm jim bone so and this is bloomberg why are beast dying what's the deal with north korea what exactly is bitcoin any get clear concise form minute answers to these and other complex questions with bloomberg quick date hard to.
