March Madness recap: NCAA Tournament is off to a historic, upset-riddled start
"We are here to talk through the third full day of the two thousand twenty one. Ncaa tournament is a wild. That'll be remembered for a number one seed losing to an in state opponent and for three double digit seeds advancing to the sweet sixteen. We'll get the top seeded illinois lose loyal chicago in a bit. But i want to start with the double digits. In that one on sunday number eleven syracuse upset number three west virginia. Jim bejon against all odds is in the sweet sixteen number twelve oregon state upset number four oklahoma state wayne tinkle against all. Odds is in the sweet sixteen in number fifteen oral roberts upset number seven florida. Paul mills against all odds is in the sweet sixteen dead-leg makes sense. What in the world is going on in indiana. You want me to make sense of this. No shot and need you to make some sense. I'm not gonna make any sense of this. It's been a gloriously. Chaotic and we are knocking on the door of historic and double a. tournament so with these Upsets in addition to others. First of all eight teams from eight separate leagues are now into the sweet sixteen and with the other obviously on monday The most is that could If that could happen Also we have had so the instable a and shops the david warlock who's obviously the media coordinator of all the stuff. He tweeted this about twenty five minutes before we started podcasting so we define an upset as a team seeded five spots or more lower than their opponent we've already set the record with eleven such occurrences were midway through the second round. We have the so another way of saying that is. We're not done the second round yet. The already been eleven games in which a team separated by. At least five seed lines have seen the team lower seeded when it is history. And it's it's just wild man. I actually think we're also on pace. I haven't had time to research this but are. Cbs sports hq team is researching it. I think we are probably on pace. Because of this to have the highest collective number for all the seeds meaning like we've got fifteen in their plus a twelve and oregon state plus eight with loyal. If you get what. I'm saying like when we get to the sweet sixteen. If you add up all the seeds it's going to be the highest total we've ever had there and i can't make any sense of it. I don't know if because like if we'd had this enormous setting with fans and stuff would it be the same. No i mean every single tournament x exists unto itself. If you played this thing again you're going to have all sorts of different kinds of results but is it because it's happening in the pandemic in one location in the venues it's happening at is that allowing for more chaos. I'm i can't say that. It is and i can't say that that's not the reason so i'm loving this parish. Get enough of all of this. Although i will say Oregon state is maybe the most random and congrats to the beavers man. It's the most of sweet sixteen. Maybe ever this team was nowhere. Near the bubble it has not been relevant in its own conference for most of the past four decades and has come out of nowhere to get into the second week for the first time since one thousand nine hundred to

"For twenty four here on this morning is JJ after chance here right here on a fan and this the mice Joe quite the Monday, the national championship with Virginia and Texas Tech and a very happy. Even though it came down in Houston, Texas, we figured it being eight o'clock start, I guess because it's nationally televised. Monday on ESPN, you get the early seven o'clock start for Tanaka taken on Verlinden. Nice little sports side. And probably also with the with the idea of not conflicting with the with the NCAA tournament final as well. So get the game the baseball game, Don a little bit earlier and people can concentrate on on the hoops thing of beauty. And you think about the Yankees doing what they need to do against the Orioles get the bats going what in your opinion is your biggest takeaway from the weekend. Is that Quin? Frazier is Keri Sanchez is it Clinton Pretoria's like out of those three elements. What would encourage you to most? What has to be saying? I agree. Have you can't do much better than that? So well in the fact that Gary Sanchez after his dismal twenty eighteen had six home runs in two weeks. That's the point of the Yankees saw on sixteen and seventeen and harass. That's the point they're going to need if they want to win a division title this year. I agree with that. And I said to you going into the weekend. The best thing for the Yankees right now is the fact that they're going to Camden Yards, but three games number one. It's a home run haven and number two the Orioles terrible. So a great combination they go in there and flex their muscles. But let's see what happens now they say now you'll of the premier pitches in the American League. It's Berlin Monday Garrett Cole Tuesday, and then Colin Mckee Wednesday. So yes, this Janke lineup that mashed against the Puget Orioles now we'll have to get back to reality against one of the big boys in baseball for your Mets. But they have the big MO, and we'll see what happens you like that you like are you guys up and down a line of pitting two. I can see the Yankees winning two out of three in this series. I also shelves. So we shall see Monday will set it dawn you met to screw in a tunnel runs. You like that Wheeler though, I do starts not very good. If he has a third bad store in Atlanta where he historically has always pitch. Well, all that sound the for you when it comes to this and will know much too early on his first start was was terrible. It was mediocre at best obviously Saturday. I mean yesterday was terrible. I mean, there's no way around it. But that's very atypical for Wheeler to have the lack of control that he had. So the to me as long as he's got the fastball going up ninety seven ninety miles an hour. I'm really not all that concerned about Zack Wheeler. Why Harris his we have to like about the Mets even they lost to this weekend? They want up is doing a terrific job is scoring runs. You're at the game Saturday come from behind bailout familiar with Alonzo, and of course, Brockton with the base hit. But even in his game. Game with eight down twelve to. And I get it. The national bullpen is our and our the world Kimbrell is not on their team. Somebody's got explained that one to me. But Harris, whether it's McNeil Conforto on Zil young players are putting together some more really good at bats just the whole team. And the fact that they're scoring late in games. I mean, even they were down by eleven runs in this case it wasn't enough. But they have they have been coming back with regularity. And yes, the the young guys very impressive right now. JD davis. I'm not quite drinking the Kool aid as much as as much as Mike is. But you know, seeing him hit a. JD Davis allowed no. That's a resolve. But he's a he's a good part of the wig. Fliegelman? I thought we we're talking about francesa over here. I didn't know Mike is all in on the JD Dave all in on eight fielders who are not named Todd Frazier. Always goes back to please. I should have known that I should have known that. And you're right about that Harris before we get you out of here national championship. I'll roll Virginia lane the point of half. Are you taking a red is at Texas Tech? That we talked about it going into the final four. And I to me I I was not on the Texas Tech bandwagon. But I said, you know, I've seen enough so far I think this team can go all the way. So I'm not going to change my mind now based on what I saw on Saturday. So yes, give me those red raiders, okay? If we get a chance to break the tunnel. I'm waiting for Genia Harris, Ron with Texas Tech fleet. Got Monday night. I really wanna say Texas Tech. But after the way Virginia won the last two games and the way the season ended for them last year, historic fashion. We all know, it just seems like we're gearing up for the headlines for a team that lost to a sixteen seat is a one to come back the next year and win the championship. It feels like that's what we've been headed towards see I could work it could work two ways. When you have a game like Virginia just had it can work to quite frankly back to Purdue you can feel like you're the team of destiny and nothing can stop you. Or you can sort of just have some doubts in the back of your mind. Just simply run. Uplifting. Sometimes see your point text tech been better in a storm in and been more dominant in this tournament. I just get the sense to better team throughout the regular season was Virginia. No doubt Virginia losing with sixteen. Now, they make it to this point. They are one win away from winning the whole thing. I just don't get the sense. They're going to be denied here. I really don't you kind of feel. It's Justice that they make the complete turnaround and finish off the championship. And I could see that. I just hope it's a good game since I know better interest. Now that my my final four has been completely eradicated. So may the best team with Haight. Seven seven thirty seven sixty six sixty six let's say to God falls could pow Walt this up next on the fan. What's up? Well, won't let her brother quick question pert about they're going to Syracuse over the weekend shooting three point. No, I did not. But was he lighting the world on fire eight kids and relied? Call eight kids finished fourth. You did very well. In the first round. He scored about about seventy my brother watch out that game. Bob, I did very well support at that ban for seventeen year old kid going there too and won't one can only hope that Joe Girardi at some point is Syracuse tenure can have a moment like Mr. McNamara dead in two thousand three coming up on the anniversary actually of that Carmelo Anthony Jim bejon championship when Gerry McNamara was unconscious in that. Yeah. Yeah. That if Joe at some point in Syracuse uniform can go on the run you, and I both going to be very very happy campers. JJ? I tell you. I watch kids diapers. Grandfather guy got soul. I thought the world and still think watch I tell you right now. Could be there to support you're going to be go that only his bet both the hidden towns and a court and could use some of that wall. They could suddenly some of that don't get me wrong. After watching some of the dopey players specifically Frank Howard and his basketball IQ, and even Merrick John who I love to drink at times. So yes, I hope and I pray that your boys going to deliver. So what else you got wall? Real quick. I didn't play great ball over for. Sure. Is there? Listen sanchez. Judge you crazy. Phase picked off the second with nobody out Saturday with the bases loaded, and nobody out he's getting picked off at third base. That's Gary Sanchez at its worst. But guess what? Gary Sanchez and his best. It's about one of the premier catch all baseball. And that's why the debate last year who still in the wildcard game, I always found it. So comical why? Because you want to win a championship. Any Gary Sanchez doing his thing? Any Gary Sanchez raking because he ain't gonna rake you ain't gonna win. That gives you such an advantage over so many other teams in the sport. Enke's missed that last year. The lineup did not have that dynamic and the minute and do horror and Stanton Hicks went down. What did we say last week? Who were two guys on this Yankee team that absolutely need to step up and deliver. Gleyber Torres was one Gary Sanchez was the other. This week. They answered the call. They will need to continue the answer the call until you get some of these guys back, and that's why if you could get somebody like Frazier now coming into his own. Now, he's getting a chance to play a little bit more see what he's capable of doing. Next battle. It's the way it goes sports. Confronts getting an opportunity. I hope he takes it runs with it. And never goes back to the minor leagues ever again. So long way to go before saying Quinn. Frazier is going to be a key part of this twenty nine thousand nine hundred Asian, but you hope you look at this weekend in Baltimore for him at the very least as it turning point. What's it to conquer Mark? Good pal. Eric he's up next on the fan. What's up, Eric? How're you doing JJ chrysanthemum? Good morning. Hey, so it was on the front row wrestlemainia last night or guarantee Eric you did not see me in the front row wrestlemainia. And I know a buddy Tommy Lou gallon Rosenberger out there. God bless them. I mean, if it stand thing I enjoy they said, it was a nightmare to say the least trying to get back to the state area. Try to get back to me or city taking a train leaving nj chains at like twelve thirty one o'clock in the morning. I heard it was not fun eighty eighty plus people forget it. I mean, I'm sure it wasn't saying trying to get out of that. Listen, all seriousness. Look you. You're talking about Wheeler. You know, I've been consistent. I've said it over the years. Okay. So I'm not just saying it now, I don't trust Wheeler. I never did. Even though he had that great second half last year when he came back the guy just rose many pitches. Right. And I mean, you'd think he'd be a strikeout pitcher, but he just for whatever reason he runs a big on when he loses. It. He loses it fair. Well, listen that was his problem before last year. Last year after may he really settled into a groove every fifth day. He went out there and pitch really, really. Well. Last year. But but prior to that, no, I get it it how much of that was due to injury. How much of that was due to on the performance? I'm not sure we don't have exactly the direct correlation of pinpoint wise that will all of a sudden founded why all of a sudden he changed formed into a different pitcher. I'm going to give him the benefit of the down for these first two starts. He was terrible Sunday against the nationals. He was mediocre and his first start against the nationals. He historically speaking Arabic is a guy who's Georgia native has always gone down to Atlanta and has page to well, he's pitched well against the Braves pitched well in that ballpark. If Wheeler goes out over the weekend, I think his next start would be lined up for either Friday or Saturday, he really Eric keep pitches poorly stored in its three bed stones to start the year. That's when I'm going to start to get concerned. I'm not there yet. I think you'll be fine. I'll let me ask. Ask you this. Let's say let's say is to runs. Okay. But by the by the end of the fifth inning. He's got. One eighty something pitches, though, what you think. I'm going to try and push them to get them right around one hundred. I mean, I'm not taking them out after eighty pitches. If you tell me Willard gives you, but if you tell me gives me five innings to Ron's I'd take that. Right. The Russian Wisden Eric when it comes to eating sin. Pitch counts. When you're talking about three four five starts in the ear for some of these guys just not built up and the Plum, you're gonna run into as well is that we want to take up the ground pitch every fifth day. And I don't think we can hold Wheeler..

"I've been watching too much TV what's on game show. Anyway, I got this list of things I wanna do this spring. Then I could name them really quick. Question things. I can't wait to go camping in a rat Ford road trip and a Camry. Off roading and in Tacoma. Toyota, let's go places. Six. To forty seven here on his early Friday JJ after dark chassis Stransky guide you to the overnight right here on the fan. Get aboard. Eight seven seven thirty thirty seven sixty six sixty six will get to a pretty son retirement and baseball, basically came out of nowhere to one of the all time greats one of the best I've ever seen. We'll get to that. And we'll we'll get to the scare for Greg bird, which what else is new great bird Dylan injury. Greg bird Dylan injury right before the study spring training, some things never change. Of course, you're on WFAN anytime anywhere Dowa the radio dot com app today. And if you have Alexa, Google home, just say play WFAN and you'll be locked into the fans. So watching John Moran do thing for Murray state. There was one comparison that absolutely came to mind that was thinking of watching a game as he's lighten up this Marquette team. Just could not handle his Atlanticism and his ability to just do everything score distribute unanimous. I was watching Moran. And I felt like I was watching Derrick rose a Memphis. Douse the flashback. I got. Guys, remember Derrick rose, partying tournament taking a Memphis team. All the way the championship game. A Memphis team that missed some pretty big free throws down the stretch with constant against the Kansas jayhawks. But rose was electrify rose was constantly in the paint was able to finish decent enough on the jump shot. Seal Lada, Derrick, rose, and John Moran. Look some are going to say, oh, that's not what I'm looking for you. Go back pre ACL Derrick rose p. Derrick rose. That's really good years in the NBA. So if you didn't tell me Mirant has that sort of upside has potential I mean, now take John Williamson had pigs. I would still be my guy, but Jamaran is not going to be a bad selection process, but said to mount Holly, New Jersey, my buddy CJ Johnson foul, it's up CJ. Several courts the west couple years really advocating the end of the era. Everything is just passing by teams. Defense. Is replace coach. If it's not go. Junior. Yeah. I can't see Syracuse. Hiring Richard Patino, CJ, I just can knowing Syracuse knowing the way that university handles basketball. They are going to keep that coaching hire in house that will be a coach, you Mark my words who has ties to that program in some capacity. Whether it's Mike Hopkins coming back from Washington, whether it's Gerry McNamara. You find me coach at Syracuse ties that is where the program will head. I can't see and maybe I'm wrong CJ. We'll have this conversation God willing whenever Jim boeheim decides to hang it up. But by the way, chimpanzees decides what he's going to hang it out period ended discussion, no questions asked. He's earned that at Syracuse bought. I get the sense when they find his replacement. It will be accused guy. What happen? I personally look. JJ personally. I'm okay giving the job to somebody with ties to the university. But here's what I'm thinking about forget about life faster. Jim bejon? He's clutching this team for at least another three years. I want to see Syracuse get back to a point where they're in the top twenty five from start to finish throughout the year. CJ they've had some Fuki tournament. Runs Bennett been fun where they've taken you on a ride that have been really enjoyable the watch. But you think about them in a regular season the last five years ten very good. Remember the days of? Which coach, gene? It's funny. We were dropping don't tell me. To go to Wayne at that. Could you imagine? I mean CJ that's why I am always careful, and I'm always in a very. Weird position thinking about life after Jim bejon because you understand Syracuse basketball was put on the map by three. Crucial figures Jim behind Pearl Washington. And even though it's not a figure it's a building up there. A great deal to carry a dumb. So Jim behind for what he's meant to the queues. He can coach that program as long as he wants. And I know similar argue you know with the regular season results. Not being what they've been in years past that against passing them by CJ. They have talent on this team. They were preseason top twenty the issue. You have is the development of the talent is not what it's been in years past and it's killing him. Really? Second round one. Is Purdue gets through over the. The previous history. What? I can understand why you liked Villanova net game. And you think about the big east CJ Marquette's going home, Saint John's already home seen halls going home. Who's the one team? Again. Let's standing holding the torch of this conference. It's the Villanova Wildcats. Now, here's the one thing. I don't like about Villanova CJ dairy to man wrecking crew. It's Phil booth. Eric. Dargis eight my friend. So Perdue is able to neutralize PASCAL and bowed Villanova's going to have a hard time winning games in this tournament bought Jay, right? Been there and done that. Isn't it amazing? How the perception of Jay right as a tournament. Coach has all of a sudden dramatically changed over the last four years. If I was doing a show four or five years ago C J, you know, what everybody would be saying chair. I can't win the big game in the tournament Villanova's terrible in the tournament. But when you win two national championships in three years, and you went into piggies, basically every year that perception dramatically changes. Look, I wouldn't be shocked if Villanova Purdue do I think Villanova's final four no, I don't think they have the talent to do. So, but I think Villanova found their way to the second weekend at a tournament this year after all the NBA talent data's lost off at that team. CJ? He did a well coaching job. NFL question richer. We just loses play if you're betting there will be exit. What? Was the team. And he's a great great question. My friend that I appreciate the call is always. Wow. I'm gonna say right now. Josh Rosen is doc going to be an Arizona cardinal. I think you're looking at three potential teams where he could be a start. Either in the short term or the not too distant future, Washington. Miami. The giants. Washington has Holden. Alan case keenum, the dolphins have choice. Older arrive. Fitzpatrick the giants even though some will tell you otherwise Deva placeholder who's going to be a future hall of Famer and is that icon, but at this stage of the game for the franchise down the road. They're not winning big things with Eli manning that ship has sailed. Past tense not present. That's. But I'm gonna say Josh Rosen ends up in Washington. And if there's a team that could be in on Rosen where he wouldn't be starter where you have to sit for a year. Don't be surprised if the LA chargers got involved Sipa hassle. Rivers is.

"Experience. Get phone calls. Coming up got a poll question. Here got a couple of close races with the meet Friday songs you and update us on that Seton of what the audience should be aware of right now. Well, the one that the nation is is following most closely is meat yourself versus hooked on meat eating. Okay. So John in Wisconsin and Kellyanne Pennsylvania. Yeah. Right now, do you want to take a guess? I think it's too close to call. I'll say Kelly in Pennsylvania is leading by three hundred twenty five votes so far over ninety five thousand votes just in that one race we've had two hundred and fifty thousand votes this round we had over two hundred thousand in the opening round though. That's as of nine AM this morning. Some great races here and Thursday the end of tomorrow's show or sometime on Thursday. I don't know the official designated time. That's when the voting stops. And then we move on to the date the elite eight lead eight the final four and the championship game. And to let me see anything else. So we settled on that as a poll question. Mclovin now, we actually have I have another ops. Okay. I I've been crowd sourcing my bracket rounds yesterday. We did which number once he will bow out. I you know, Jinya ran away with it. You know, how about today which number two seat has the best chance of winning the tournament. Michigan state, Michigan, Tennessee or Kentucky because I see a lot of brackets with those four teams while the twos are hot issue. Yep. With you have a hunch on AM. I don't understand Tennessee. The I saw them as Auburn, and they didn't look good. But a lot of experts love them. I've seen them look really good and against Auburn. They look really bad. I've seen Kentucky look really good. And then I've seen them look, really bad. This is why you're a two seat and not a one, you know, Michigan state you watch. And then you go, I don't get it. Like, it feels like every year we say that about Michigan state. You're like, I don't get it. But that coach knows what to do this time of the year, you know, be line at Michigan. And these guys know what to do Bob Huggins? Like, there's certain coaches when it gets to March Jim bejon, they just know what to do. And there's something to be said for that. And you know, I'm not afraid to admit. I'm looking at coaches to you know, when you go what kind of do you shoot the three? Can you make your free throws? Do you have any veteran leadership there as your coach been here before, you know, see you.

"You don't have to alter seeds in order to get your best storylines, but focus a little bit more on storylines. Give me Washington against Syracuse. So I get Mike Hopkins against Jim bejon. Don't give me Marcus Howard against John rant in the first round. Because then one of them will be eliminated. I love that Richard Pitino is going up against Louisville because his dad suing and the family legacies and how intertwined an incestuous that's going to be I loved it. Mike chefs got a shot to coach against Johnny Dawkins. The legendary do players numbers retired and Johnny Dawkins. This kid is on UCF. They should do that. It would be a way to fix some of the hurt from conference. Realignment Missouri basketball is only made the tournament twice since they left the big twelve for the for the SEC. But one of the years that they did they were an eighth seed Kei. You was a one seed and Missouri was not on the eight nine line in Kansas is region. So that if Missouri would have wanted advanced we could have gotten K U M you again, those schools won't play each other in the regular season because of hurt feelings, and the NC double a selection committee had a shot just force the action in the round of thirty two and it didn't happen. That's insane. You've got Syracuse and Georgetown, not in the same conference anymore. If they both make the tournament and the seeds lineup that they can play each other in the tournament again. It just seems so obvious to me. But the talk of Michigan state being screwed. Okay. You're right. They beat Michigan three times conference tournaments. Don't really seem to matter. I get why. That's thanks. If you're a Spartans fan. You should have been a two seed not in dukes region. You get you get the toughest one seed when you beat Michigan three times in the last month. So you would have rather been the two seat in Gonzaga's region? Okay. Gonzaga beat you could Duke was at full strength. No one will care about that come Thursday when the games actually start including Michigan state fans, and the only time that becomes a thing is if the tournament place to seed and Michigan state plays Duke and Duke wins BIC, that's the only scenario where it actually becomes a thing. So twenty days from now or more maybe that'll be relevant storyline. But for now, it's just something that people complain about conference tournaments their money grab. If you don't need the automatic bid to get in. It's money grabbed. It doesn't really have a huge impact on the NCAA tournament. Seeding. We've known that for years it played out again this year, we saw it play out with Auburn in the SEC. We saw it play out with Michigan state v. Michigan in the big ten. We saw it play out. Cincinnati who got a seven seed Villanova who got a sixty. They won their conference tournament. It happens every single year. So what do you care about in terms of your NC double A tournament beyond your bracket? Winning your team winning eight five five two one two four CBS is the number in Virginia. Got a good squad. This year Logan is on the Dante Parkin show. What's up Logan? Anything taking my call. I really want to know what the. All right. Take UK. What about you? Eating. Your number one eight. Do. I don't care about that. I if if Syracuse was awesome or Louisville was awesome. And it was four number one seeds have done it. I would put them, you know, to meet to me, it's seed the teams that are that have the best shot at winning the title seed them, the highest Virginia's awesome. They are number one in net rating. Number one, Ken palm, number one in strength, the record number one and VPI. They just always seem to follow fall short. This is the best offense that Virginia's had since Tony Benn it's been there. I think they are really really good, obviously. And I think that they can win the entire thing. Yeah. I agree. I just I don't know. I really say that loss against Florida state, even sketchy. But I don't know. I I don't know. Do you think you UNC? To write to me. I don't know. Well, he deserves it over him. I could state they're over there for pain. Yeah. I'm not sure. But I mean, I don't know. I just feel like apparently Gonzaga was the other team that got the number one seed, listen, I appreciate the call, man. Michigan state won the big ten tournament and didn't even get the top two seed line. So this is this is what I'm talking about. This is that quibbling that is a short periods storyline that comes out as soon as the bracket gets released that ultimately gets completely forgotten about by Friday. It doesn't really matter to the masses. Imagine a little bit to those schools in matters a little bit too bracket. Tala gist, and we'll talk to Jerry palm coming up in thirty minutes. Maybe he disagrees. But these are the types of things that I don't think ninety eight percent of fans care about. The one seeds happened to be three of the four from one conference that Michigan state was the two seat in one region. But maybe should have been the two seed in another region. I don't think that's the thing that the masses really care about. But I'll tell you yet Gonzaga's awesome. I thought there lost the Saint Mary's in the conference tournament was fluky. They are. They got the number one offense in the country. Brandin Clark is maybe the best defensive player in college basketball. They beat Duke when Duke was at full strength. Mark view is one of the best program builders in the sport. Great coach. They are completely loaded. They could absolutely win the national championship dukes. The most talented team Virginia's the sabre Matric dream all the rating systems love them net. Offense defense their top ten and Ken palm on offense. And defense Virginia's the ratings darling. Gonzaga might be the best overall team dukes the most talented team. I love how Tennessee plays personally. I'm going to be long time this year for sure which means you should probably fade them based on when my book, you would tell you. But for the most part, it's wide open wicked is every year. But we'll talk more about do can little bit ton of pressure on coach K this year in a very different way. We'll get into that. But first Marco balletti sports update. Sports flash. Danny entire bracket is out. Led by Duke is the top overall seed joining them on the one line is North Carolina Virginia and Gonzaga Michigan state joined Duke in the east as the two seed Michigan's going out west is the to see with Gonzaga Kentucky's the to the mid western North Carolina and Tennessee is the two in the south with Virginia conference tournaments Auburn lit up Tennessee, eighty four sixty four they take on the SEC Michigan state outlasted Michigan in the big ten sixty five sixty to Cincinnati sixty nine fifty seven past Houston. A Yale and Harvard renewed their rivalry in the Ivy.

"How are you today? All right. Thank you for calling. Okay. Sure thing. Hey after the tragic event last week some people actually criticize coach behind for take right? The let me just educate. I'll list about it. Jim boeheim after his Syracuse team beat Louisville at the carrier dome was driving home at around eleven o'clock at night on. I think it was in the states six six ninety if I remember correctly and prior to him getting to a certain area car had swerved and hit some grill or some midsection guerrilla, whatever the case may be an ultimately guys got out of the car because they didn't want any cars to slide into them and hit them well upon getting out of the car. Jim bejon was driving his car down that same road and accidentally struck in individual who ended up dying because he got hit by the car. All that Jim boeheim was driving. So that's what happened he elected to come back and still coach Saturday's game against Duke. I was at that game. Saturday as well. A gym bejon coached it. And he felt that he owed it to his players his program. What have you to be out there coaching on that particular day? But obviously he expressed incredibly incredible sadness over having accidentally killed an individual in in a car accident. Go ahead, sir. Sure. And I appreciate you covering up because some people have been critical of him for for taking the court that that day despite the circumstances. And in addition to that there's been some criticism of the fans themselves for when coach bay Heim hit floor and the standing ovation that he got in knowing that you were in in the dome that day, I was wondering if maybe you could shed a little light on how how that all went down. And and the reaction of the crowd gave him a standing ovation because, but, but but people need to understand people need to understand, Gary. They were not giving Jim behind. Standing ovation because he showed up to coach game. They were giving him a standing ovation to support him because they could only imagine what he must have been going through. It was an accident. Okay. There was no alcohol involved. He wasn't a need rated in any way. The roads were slick it had been raining earlier. There was ice on the road. It was an absolute accident. Okay. This is according to the police, even though they still haven't finished investigation that have to go through dot, the Oscars, tease, etc. Fallen ten and purposes it was an accident. So the people that gave him a standing ovation. This is a man that has been coaching at Syracuse for over thirty six years. This is the man that's a national champion has been the five final four appearances. That's a pillar of the Syracuse community. And they know they can only imagine what he's going through because they know there's no way on earth that he wished any harm upon another human. Being particularly of that magnitude and in. No, none of us would none of us would any core decency. About us would could you imagine how you would feel Gary or I would feel if we were sliding on the road, and we accidentally struck someone and we killed them. I mean, you gotta live with that for the rest of your life..

"Greg gave me a list of topics today we have gotten through two of them. Reilly's interview art of conversation dance new TV show that debuted yesterday five thirty five Sean ESPN. We got to. Shorten conversation about Robert Kraft because. Greg Mike nervous. Difficult to talk about here's her it is we don't know the extent of the investigation, obviously. Well, we know what's been announced. But we don't know the extent of what Robert Kraft new, and there's the human trafficking element that certainly makes this on nothing to laugh at really right and the NFL did release a statement on Robert Kraft, saying our personal conduct policy. Applies equally to everyone in the NFL players owners management wise equally. So we'll see what the NFL is gonna do here. Here's what's remaining Jim boeheim accident. John rules. Halftime fiasco. Those are the only two remaining there's a third one here. But I'm not getting to it. Because I haven't read up on it. I have no idea it seems to serious. Right up on all the other ones. But this seems like something I should read up on before discussing. It's very interesting Connecticut high school track controversy. Read up on it. Up on. All right. So your choices are Jim bejon. I'm gonna go John rules halftime performer Jarl's halftime performance. You guys feel good about that jostles? Halftime performance. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Yeah. Roll here. Well, I I wasn't even aware. John rule was still a thing isn't he wasn't. He popular like fifteen eighteen years ago, or he's not still a popular thing. Now, it's more of a nostalgia. So he's a thing to do. It was the free Greek freak was dribbling as he was performing which I thought was a little bit rude. But I don't know John rule really deserves his own halftime show anymore after I'm shows used to be you know, the Super Bowl halftime show. It had to be a special occasion. And now you got a regular season basketball game with a halftime show. I just don't understand the trend enough with F time performance. That's all you had on this. I think it was worth throwback nineties night and gyro then complain saying that he was a two thousand act and shouldn't be there, but his album was released in nineteen ninety nine. So he'll forgive them for it. Didn't he have microphone issues as well? Where there sounded sharing the halftime microphone was working just fine. It was the rest of the sound. So Greg really what you're objecting to is. You feel like if celebrities get a performance the halftime show. It should not be for a regular season game. It should be it should be for big time. Yes. Big time game. Right. Right. But what do you do the timber wolves? You never have any of those games. What happens there, you gotta earn? It. Yeah. You're gonna earn the big halftime show. That's right. I think the funny thing is that after fire fast, people are still trusting job role on anything and he's still getting work. How is that possible? How is that possible? So that's all Greg had for on a job. But there's a sliding scale Jarrell is not gonna perform more than likely at the halftime show the Super Bowl. So this seems like an okay game for him to performance. But he didn't get right. Yeah. But Greg's objecting to even offer him that John role performing at halftime of regular season basketball red panda. Honestly. Do any of you know, red pandas have no idea. What does that mean? It was fake red pandas the performer that has like the like bowls and stuff and she's like on the giant league tries unicycle pick some up on her head dress like a panda. I don't know why she has she has. But there's like general leg it's red panda. It's the guy that like contorts himself through like the ring thing and the ones fit themselves in boxes. Greg. When's the last time you were at a heat game covering it for the entire game? And you saw the halftime. They don't they don't generally have halftime X games. Have a lot of stuff that come and do performances they have that area outside now where the halftime entertainment is. So it's not in the arena. Should there's something going on in the arena. But if you wanna watch the halftime, entertainment, you go out to the the West End that. Yeah. The pause out there, and they have all sorts of performers that go out there wire games. Entertainment obsessed isn't the game itself, the entertainment. I mean, aren't you going to a game to see a game halftime deserve for hotdogs and beer. Yeah. Why do you need to have people juggling and singing and dancing? You're watching a basketball game. We had this conversation a couple of weeks ago. Greg tonight did in terms of how to fix baseball because we said part of the problem with baseball is that you go to a stadium and the games the most boring part. So they need to take away all the bells and whistles that go on during a baseball game like no kids fund zones. No music. None of these other things to stimulate people. They need. To make it. So that everything is as boring as possible in the most entertaining thing going on that day is the baseball game like have the libraries zone or something like that? And then everything like, wow. Did you see that sacrifice? Bunt is your point that the reason why baseball's boring is by comparison to all other fun things. You can do. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. You need to make the ballpark more boring. You need to make baseball. The most entertaining thing at a baseball game. Right. You're gonna put a fun house there. And that's more entertaining than a baseball game. I just tell you get to put one of those fun houses in there and a couple of arcade games. Anything's more enjoyable than baseball game at so billions. Right. You have to make the baseball game the most enjoyable thing at the part. I'm telling you this right now they have like races and stuff in between innings. Right. Why don't you have like lectures going on in between innings and like I'll thank God. It's the seventh inning that half innings your kids. Get a run out to the hallway to get lectured by someone about something serious. He'll sit right there. And who wants a baseball game, maybe have a funeral procession during between innings, art exhibits. Yeah. Had cell phone blockers all stadium. So no one can access their phones. So we're just trying to find these more boring than baseball. Right. We're basically, it seems like we're torturing the people that are going to baseball games to force them into liking baseball chess tournament, right because I told you guys, but I went to city feel the kids were doing anything. But. Watching the baseball game. They were in the funds zone. You would think the baseball game would be the funds zone at a baseball game. But that's not where the kids were. They were in the bounce houses. More funding the bounce houses. Yeah, they had more fun in the bounce houses. So making baseball. The most entertaining thing at a baseball game while difficult is the strategy. Baseball needs to go with if they want this thing to flourish moving forward. Just have a timeout zone for the young kids who while yet. They're not watching the game timeout dome. Punishments for now. This sounds crazy. But it shouldn't be right. Like, we should be making the product more appealing, and how do you make something more appealing? That's not super appealing to get you make everything else around it worse. Make it the most appealing thing of of all the options you have at the stadium. Right. They'll be glued to their seats. Literally glue them to the see if they think they're going to get lectured looking. The concession censured sell only vegetables that kids don't like no reason to go. No, French fries, French fries, you can have you can have hotdogs, I guess because that's a baseball thing. But definitely no condiments on the hot dog. Greg's point with basketball is basketball is entertaining. You don't need it for basketball. Maybe in baseball. You gotta. This is a good idea. But basketball is so entertaining. It is the most entertaining thing in the arena. Jaros a step down hotdogs also been replaced canceled at baseball games can have something. Not right. Not sure toss that is a great point. So what what should we make the broccoli vegetables? In actual can of corn. Should there? Be a reward though, Greg if the kid watches the game for a couple of things you get rewarded with something good. Yeah. PC.

"Not big college basketball fans. Listen to this show at least says station, but Saturday night was Duke was back in action without Zion. Williamson we spoke at length about him last week, Bernie, including what I thought about Barack Obama's tweet scient- didn't play and they took on Syracuse. You don't know the story. Syracuse beat Louisville last Wednesday night and after the game Syracuse, legendary hall of fame coach, Jim boeheim was driving home. And there was a pedestrian on the highway his corner, just hit a guardrail. He got out of the car. He walked away from the car. He was on the highway, and he was struck by Syracuse head coach Jim boeheim and the guy died now Jim got out of the car. He tried to help the guy he stayed. There did all he could. But the guy died, which I can't imagine the nightmare as you go through just the sound of hitting a body down a dark night when you least expect it. So Jim did coach Saturday night against Duke? It's horrible and. Fact Syracuse at a five point lead at the half, but do came out in the second half and just killed them and Duke on the game. But behind spoke the crowd was very emotional Duke, head coach, Mike, shefty, very emotional. Gave them a big hug at center court spoke to the game. But what a great guy behind is. He's tough he'll get through this. But behind cried a bunch after the game not about the loss of Duke. But talking about that experience. So it was a very emotional night up in Syracuse New York on Saturday for that took Syracuse basketball. It's really traumatic. Yeah. To kill a guy like that. She's I don't know. That makes high story another note from that game is the largest ever cry. College basketball games. You have a story similar to that. I was driving. On Long Island Friday night. And I didn't realize that the loop Parkway was closed for the weekend. Starting at ten o'clock. Is this a true story true story? All right here, we go. And I see signs on the metal brook Parkway. When I get on it at about nine Forty-five Luke Parkway closed at ten o'clock until five o'clock Monday morning. So it takes you about fifteen minutes. Go down the metal broke to get to the loop. So I start speeding. I start racing down. There is I'm gonna make this damn thing. I'm not gonna go. Otherwise, I'd have to go across Long Island freeport, Baldwin long. The Dow won't be it's a pain in the neck. So I start flying down. And the next thing. You know, I see I see. I see a state trooper sitting there in the middle lane. I'm doing about by seventy five crazy Bernie fifty five eighty dude. So sure enough he comes out pulls me overly did stop. You pulls me on those lights. Go on you. Don't your heart is important to your lap. Damn. I've been arrested a couple of times. But you know, here's the thing. Years ago that different years ago that would have been the case, I even said that to my son, I said, it really is a good feeling when you get pulled over, you know, everything's on the up and up and everything's legal. Good feeling that have you throw the coke out the window and bright, right? The we maybe it might smell or I cracked a cold one for the rest of the ride home halfway home or something like that. None of that. So except for the fact that my my my registration sticker, even though expired in like Tober November. I still the new one is sitting there. I didn't rip off the old one. Still sitting there you've got it. But I have. So anyway, these trooper was very very nice. Of the show. Well, somebody was a fan of the show. And I don't know if it was trooper Brian Egan who is very very nice. I got a ticket, but they were very very professional. Anyway, all the upshot is I saw the clock tick past ten o'clock. So now, I know I'm missing the loop. And then the cop comes back with the ticket. But he was very nice, very professional. Nice. You give you a ticket. I don't understand us heard. Yeah. Well, I'll explain it the oath year. I thank you Bye-bye officer eagle Brian state troopers out on Long Island and the to the state troopers who by the way when they pull over a car. They'd never know what to expect changes jobs. Gotta have some set some pair. Yup. To do that at night. And they do it with me it worked out fine for him. But who knows right? You can't never tell. You'll write your story pales in comparison to Jim bejon. Right. Nobody died. Nobody nobody you got a ticket. And they'll just you know, was inconvenienced right? Which is going to be one of the. Yes, that's right behind was probably inconvenience to he was on his way somewhere. I might have been a little annoying one eight hundred eight four eight WABC will come and write back. In the morning. What did you say wasn't that the my pillow mattress? My God almighty, how many times have.

"College basketball games going on today. But there's only two I personally really care about like LSU Tennessee is a great game on paper and there within a point right now late first-half, but the Syracuse Duke game is certainly interesting tonight on a lot of levels. Remember Syracuse beat Duke earlier this season and that huge upset number two Duke playing without Zayn Williamson they fell apart in the North Carolina game. And that is in a way to be expected. I don't think that's going to happen tonight up at Syracuse. You also have a very sad backdrop with what happened a few days ago to a man who was killed on the road. Up in the area. And Jim boeheim was unfortunately, driving the car his car had broken down. The the man who died he got out of the car, and Jim bejon tried to I guess which lanes if I'm not mistaken and struck this poor man who passed away Jim boeheim is gonna coach tonight. But there's obviously me a lot of sadness in the community. And I mentioned this the other day whenever something happens that we can all relate to you start to pause and think about yourself for your kids or your parents when your car breaks down on a highway. What are you supposed to do? I've had it happen. Only once luckily and stayed in my car, and then I got hit twice by two different vehicles car. I who knows what would have happened. So you obviously have the sad backdrop of that. But a very appealing game in the tonight between Syracuse and Duke and the most important game certainly in New York City, but as far as making the big tournament is between Seton Hall and Saint John's both are coming off losses. Saint John's is probably a little bit of. Ahead as far as the pecking order of making this tournament. Sinoe does have some good wins. The win against Kentucky the win against Maryland. Even the win against Saint John's earlier this season you have to be thinking they'll be thinking about revenge right now. And I've watched a lot of Seton Hall and a lot of Saint John's and miles Powell's out a fine year. We know about Chamari pods. Saint John's a better team. We'll see if Seton Hall could pull off the upset and sweep this season series would go a long way to enhancing that resume as we move a little bit closer to selection Sunday rich is in point lookout, New York. What's up rich? Evan. Good morning. How are you? How are you? Good. I'd like to pay a compliment. I thought you had a superb week this week. Personally on the radio. From a listener standpoint, I've been listening for thirty years. It's not any. I I don't think he's an easy partner handle it incredibly. Well. And I think Joe is very fortunate to have you as a partner, very nice rich them and makes me feel warm and fuzzy I think JJ was easy to work with. I think Joe is easiest to work with. And I look I look forward to working with Joe man because it's been two weeks since I've seen the guy. I add the vacation he had the vacation. And what I'm nervous about is. I here Monday because I always get concerned when he goes on vacation in Florida. Why would I ever go back and the-the any called in on a journey on? Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I I believe that Joe is certainly get real estate hunting. If you will. But he'll be back on Monday. Yes. You're like you said it's been a couple of weeks. You're on vacation. A lot has happened with the only sport I ever bet on professional wrestling, you could take a minute to give us a little replay on on on the goings on over the last couple of weeks been been some big plays. I would appreciate it. Get to have a little fun. Agree, rich. Thank you very much. The one thing he bets on pro wrestling. Well, I think Daniel Bryan was a heavy heavy favorite at the elimination chamber. I did a podcast about the elimination chamber that was the last WWE pay per view. So if you are wrestling fan, and that's something you would love to hear or hear me talk about and I did it with a producer here at WFAN Thomas Tomasulo gallery. You can go to the Evan Roberts podcast. You can download it. It's in the archives because I've done one recently. I did a net podcast the other night after they lost the Portland. But you could check it out. The biggest story in wrestling is Roman reigns. Because that's a real story. That's not scripted Roman reigns. That's his character's. Name has leukemia is real this is not storyline stuff. And he had to walk away from professional wrestling a few months ago. And all of a sudden Vince McMahon tweets out Roman reigns is going to be on Rawda. Give us an update on his condition. And I would assume it's good news. I don't think he's coming out on raw to give us bad news. And I think. That is if I'm going to spend thirty seconds talking wrestling, I would say that because even though as a performer Roman reigns. We drive me nuts. I just want the guy to beat leukemia. I want the guy to beat cancer cancer is an evil in this world. And we're all rooting for him. And I hope on Monday, which I guess is in two days now, I hope he comes out and says, yeah, I beat cancer. I'm cancer free. That's the dream. And that's that's what matters honestly, Mary is in floral park. Hey, mary. Good morning. Your dad did real good today. Really? Yes. Fantastic. But when you were going back to talk about clan, and how talented right hand left hand this and that I worked for very nice Philly is ago, and he said crayon was my favorite player. Here's everyone would say Jolie. And he said look at his numbers look at his numbers. So about ninety four twenty five years later there was an anniversary get together all the sixty nine Mets in the Meadowlands hotel like is still inching sixty nine but they ruled doing so good. They ruled doing so nice. But I just thought this thing was clan and the sixty nine metre great. Yeah. They weren't. You know, what's sad to me about the sixty nine Mets. Yeah. I grew up with stories about the sixty nine Mets the Eighty-six Mets too. Because I was too young. And I could probably name you the entire sixty nine met starting lineup. Right. That's just because I'm a met fan. And I I heard the stories from my dad would sad. And I noticed this five years ago. There are. So there are fewer people left who remember the sixty nine Mets. And because of that when they have these kinds of events like they're having at city field. There's less excitement for them. You know what I mean? Because I don't think a lot of people get excited for things that they don't remember some of us do a lot of people don't the eighty six minutes. Most people. Remember, I actually don't I was only three, but a lot of people. Remember, the sixty nine Mets. And it said ins me when you go to the ballpark and they honor that team because I noticed this five years ago. There's a lot of just kind of looking around there, isn't that excitement of all my God is clear. This guy that guy, unfortunately, a lot of those guys aren't around anymore, and a lot of the people that remember that team aren't around and one thing that's very important not just in sports more. So not in sports is that we don't forget our history, and is very very very important. And so before you know, it, unfortunately, went ten years go by and twenty years go by nobody's gonna be around who remembers the sixty nine Mets, and it's important for us. To keep that story going. I I make this comparison with Joe Jackson. There are still people that are passionate that Pete Rose isn't in the hall of fame. If I brought that up at the beginning of the show, we could have done three boring hours talking about Pete Rose in the hall of fame. If I brought up Joe Jackson being in the hall of fame Hoffman. What would we get one call? No, one cares. Now, why do people not care about Joe Jackson? But they care about Pete Rose. Why is that because nobody was around for Joe Jackson. So the passion is gone. The only people who care people love history. I care maybe the seven other people those who are passionate about Pete Rose. Remember, Charlie hustle. So they're passionate about that. And the warning for Pete Rose's that once we get to the stage, and we're not that far away from it twenty years from now thirty years from now the Pete Rose cause is going to be done. Because no one's going to be there to fight for it. That's why the Joe Jackson 'cause is basically gone. Let's go to Rick and patchy fog. Hey, rick. Hey, how you doing? I have a little story about Johan Santana. My father is eighty nine years old. He lives down in south. Where it's really rural there. They don't have any cable cable TV or anything. So being a big.

"One five FM seven twenty AM K, Don. Welcome back. The biggest day. Join us. Just talking about the small that story, and we will continue to monitor that. Here's a story that hasn't gotten a lot of press. Earlier in the day to day. News broke out that this US Coast Guard, Lieutenant a self-described white nationalist his name is Christopher Paul hasn't. He was arrested last week on weapons and drug charge. You hear about this? Apparently, he was planning a large scale terrorist attack. And he amassed a any normal amount of weapons and ammunition. And when I talk about gun dry say there should be a limit to the amount of weapons you can buy ammunition. I've been saying that for a long time for you gun lovers out there. I'm sure you disagree with me. I don't care how normal you are. I don't care how responsible you are. There should be a limit to how many guns and ammunition. You can buy as a citizen here period. I've always felt that way. But apparently he compiled this hit list. And shortly after internet searches he looked up internet searches for things like what if Trump illegally impeached? Best place in DC to see congress people civil war. If Trump impeached and social Democrats USA, this guy was clearly white nationalist, clearly, a Trump supporter and a large hit list of people that he wanted to kill including Chris Cuomo from CNN, and other dignitaries and Democrats. But I'm sure Fox News won't cover that story. A lot of people want to say, well CNN all they do is rag on Trump and MSNBC all they do is rag on Trump. What about Fox News covering the story? You're not going to hear about that. Will you you won't hear about this story. What you're going to hear about, you know, uncertain shows on Fox News is how these kids are suing. You're talking like a Billy Madison style list like Steve chemmy had on his wall. I mean, but the difference being this is a serious list. This guy was clearly I mean, it's not funny. This guy was gonna kill people sky was gonna literally try to assassinate me. But I don't think that's funny. If I'm on that list. I don't find it funny at all. I think it's pretty scary. If he asked me, but the store you will hear on Fox News all day is that these Covington kids, you know, are suing for two hundred and fifty million dollars to the local newspaper. That's right. Two hundred and fifty million dollars. Why? Because for a few days, people were attacking them in the media. What are the damages for a few days? Things were a little stressful for them. So that's worth two hundred and fifty million dollars. I know people in Vegas ATar friends of mine who are attorneys that tell me that they've had cases of people that were paralyzed in car accidents. They've only gotten five grant because the insurance wasn't good. But you're telling me these kids at this Catholic school deserve a two hundred and fifty million dollars settlement. Are you kidding me? What are the damages here? Now, you you wanna throw them a little bit of money. Maybe even spread six figures around. I don't have a problem with that. But two hundred and fifty million dollars. It is a joke, and our court system should not be made as a joke. That's right. Our president of the United States has done that his whole career is used our our courts as a joke to sue people. Is there anybody out there? Thanks kids deserve millions of dollars. Especially if a newspaper retracts what they did. I mean, it just it literally. It makes absolutely no sense to me two hundred and fifty million. And by the way, don't tell me that that kid with a stupid little smirk on his face was trying to de escalate the situation because he was not he was standing there with the stupid smirk. And I'm not saying it was all because clearly it wasn't. But what kind of society have we turned into? When God forbid. People in a newspaper outlet might get a story wrong. And for a few days things might be a little stressful for you. Because a lot of people are tacking you and going at you on social media. And then it's retracted and everybody understands why that's not really what happened and these kids didn't really start anything. And by the way, every news outlet did eventually report that two hundred and fifty million dollars. I'll take your calls on that one to five seven five three nine hundred seventy two two five seven five three nine six number to call. And also this this really struck a nerve with me, and I'm sure you'll agree with me on this JD. You heard about this ISIS woman, she's begging for her US return. And she says she's willing to pay her debts. She was a member of ISIS K. Let me repeat that she was a member of the worst terrorist organization on the planet. Isis she wanted Americans killed dead. She trained with ISIS. Death to America. And now she's saying how sorry she is. And now she's saying how badly she wants to get back into this country. This is where I agree with Donald Trump, wholeheartedly this woman cannot and should that ever be allowed back into the United States without question. Yes. Of course, she you don't know how many terrorist attacks she planned against the United States in that time. You don't know what she knows what she's trying to bring back. You makes zero sense for her to be in the United States ever again, considering the fact that she joined a terrorist organization from from across the world at one point on her Twitter account JD back in two thousand fifteen at least on one occasion. She said she tried to apparently tried to incite Americans to commit acts of violence on national holidays. Now, she's saying in an interview, quote, I would tell them, please. Forgive me them, meaning Americans, please forgive me for being so ignorance, and I was really young and ignorant, and I was nineteen when I decided to leave see to me being young and ignorant. It's not an excuse to same thing as the governor from Virginia who was in the KKK gar point. He was nineteen or twenty or twenty one. That's not an excuse. It's not an excuse. If if you're willing to do something that stupid, and that's that's just the way. It is you you have no business being anywhere near the. The United States or especially in your political office. And I understand that she was born in this country. But I guess what? The Trump administration is trying to debate or argue whatever they're trying to I don't care really what they come up with as long as she doesn't. She's not allowed back into this country. But they're saying, look, no, she's not a lot here. Just because you were born here doesn't mean you're automatically a citizen, especially by the way, when you are a terrorist when you're an ISIS terrorist. What kind of world are we living in? So now, the president saying, look, you know, if she if she does get into another country if she gets to France or any of these other countries, the President, Donald Trump, and I agree with them here. He's saying you need to prosecute this woman, you need to get her into the courts and put her behind bars, and I agree with them. The fact that this is even a discussion that anyone out there would actually think that this woman deserves to be back in the country is an outrage it is a complete and utter disgrace. I can't we're talking about ISIS. That's not a mistake. It's not a mistake. A mistake. Is maybe going a few miles over the speed limit. And getting a ticket. That's a mistake. That's what I call him a safe joining a murderous terrorist organization leaving the country to do so right that that's a that's a conscious decision. I'm a steak is locking your keys in your car. We all do that. That's a mistake. Oops, sorry. I made a mistake. Oh, jeez. I got I gotta get my car, towed or. Oh. Oh boy. I gotta get a locksmith. That's a mistake. I'm stake is hitting a guy on the on the road by Jim bejon did last night. That was yeah. We'll get to that. That was that was it that's a tough one. But like, you know, it's not a mistake when you decide to join an organization that cuts people's heads off that beheads people. That's not a mistake. Let me ask this to you. You guys out there listening? What would you say to this woman? What would you say to this woman who was a member of ISIS who wants to come back into this country? What would you be your what would be your message to her? If you had a chance to talk to her right now. What would you say to her up the phone lines at two five seven five three nine six on that one again that number to call? If you want to be a part of the program seven oh two to five seven five three nine six. Here's a situation. Right, absolutely, positively. I can't believe saying this is one hundred percent, I'm on board with Donald Trump the sang, this is an obvious thing. I can't imagine that another past president would have decided on this one any differently. I can't imagine I'll tell you can make the argument there were some suspicious things that happened after nine eleven that members of the bin Laden family were were flown out of this country that that that is suspicious right there. So I don't know what to make of that you really do to to prove religious into her loyalty to her tornado. There's nothing nothing. She can do could she tell the CIA or the FBI exactly where the ISIS groups are wherever she was at could. She do that. Well, that's an interesting point you make there. I didn't really does have information that. I would assume that our community would want. I didn't really think about that that you know. I haven't heard anyone bring that up. That's interesting. Could she have some information that could help our intelligence, I would say possibly. But even then, I don't know. What would you say to this woman? Phone lines are open to five seven five three hundred six seven two to five seven five three nine six zero to Robert Robert thanks for calling in. How are you? What's up Robert doing? Why are you guys? Do get what's on your mind. The one question. I would ask her is are you Jesse smaller smothers? That's funny. Thank you. Online. I luckily, I I don't think small that's ever been a member of ISIS. Thank goodness. But that is kind of funny. Luck. When it comes to smell out, these these are two completely different. I know he was making a joke, and that was kind of funny, but these are two completely different scenarios. Even though you could say that small the terrorism aspect but the fake powder. I think that was aspirin. Yeah. You could make that correlation looks small at he didn't try to kill anybody. What he did was absolutely awful. Terrible. There's no doubt about that. And smaller deserves some jail time. But we're talking about a woman that was in ISIS. We're talking about death to Americans. It's right death. Do Americans to five seven five three nine six the number to call again to five seven five three nine six is go to Lou Lou thanks for calling in. How are you? I'm good. What's on your mind? I wanted to talk about earlier you about the two hundred and fifty million dollars. See? Yes. Yes. I wouldn't get too worked out about it. So you don't ever get what you soon for right? If you get a tenth of what you soon for and even I I don't disagree with you. But still I I am fended white, right? That's right. To make a point that you can't go out there and tell story. Not true. And you have a verify. Walk away..

"Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six is the phone. Hip or no row. One o'clock. CNBC comes your way, don't train the Tommy our on the other side of the glass, of course, Evans on vacation, and he'll be off next week as well. So I'll be solo next week come out. John roberts. He'll join us later on in the hour. We'll talk college basketball with him. But right now, let's continue while let's get some phone calls in here. Eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six and Louisiana. Bronx is on a fan Louis age. Joe, how are you? Hi, lou. I want to go back to the NBA can do whatever you want. All right. I'm with you want to shut getting rid of pushing showers, often worry, I, but here's what I don't want y'all. I'll take the land Kawai. Sure. Sure. Clay or Kyrie? I don't want Jimmy Butler. No, all right. I want a headache. Walk is causing. Gimme those guys. Right. Well, I'll tell you what if you tell me it's the rant and Kemba Walker then that would be okay with that. I'm going to have to think about that. Maybe you don't maybe. But I really don't ease down on alleged co. I mean, really he puts up nice numbers but womenswear to haunted him. But that's why had Durant Durant Leonard half to be here. One of those guys. And I think I gonna wind up staying. Let's get to the pelicans. Yeah. All right. Now, I heard you talking about you know, if you wanted to go see why using eight the on the floor looking at that point of view. All right. They know they're going to get rid of this guy. He's got the why would you put him on the floor and risking injury. And then now, you know, you gotta come and going going after that Laker deal. Why would you want that deal? You get. Julius Randle from the Lakers last year. You get on free agent. Now, they're going to give you all these other guys. Like Coors my writing ground, right? I'm basically going to be the lake as of last year and this year fixed too, but still my jaw and they staggered picks. Right. Two thousand twenty. And each day get picks. And and then I probably going to be high eat rank good. Anthony Davis and. Why would you wanna be basically the Lakers Republican uniform, John that's what it would be so to lay down right here. Wait and let other teams get involved, and she would other teams offering is the way to go. Oh, and as far as Anthony Davis to the next. I know you'll love your pick. You do that. You got you got first the second pick. You would trade him for Davis. I. I know Joe, I know you'll love your picks. And but now and again, the pelicans wanna wait. And she who of course, Jon, I think I'm baguette detained and I just want actually wanna bring a limo. Thank. Right. These people who think that the game has passed a guy like the wage play today. Spot up threes and all this stuff that you wouldn't start a team around. Anthony Davis is so crazy. I mean, I I heard the guy on three o'clock at the game. It's really that. The big game is passed a guy by and you would never have done the deal. And Joe Daesh guy can go out on a line and cover this guy next to him. He said, he's fifteen rebounds, seven TV bound guy. He scores. Do you? Did you see the weight dominating in the playoffs? The only one. Word. I'll say it shouldn't Joe because if you put other guys so let me ask you, this is your second. I. Second fiddle to holiday, right? Cousins got hurt. But you, but you're right. Let me ask you. So let's say so would you let's say they don't get the rent is Anthony date, you, okay? When Anthony Davis being the lead guy on the team. Absolutely. You know, what you don't want? I take Davis. And maybe and maybe. Taibbi maybe comes along. And then you got this Knox. All right now. I guess we're going to have to give up the pick. Now if we're getting Davis, right? To give that up. Do you like Dennis Smith now? Yeah. I do I do. And you don't want to heard about you know, what he was. He's a little problem over there. Well, it wasn't so much Kyle Alto. I I think I think I heard that no ethnic trip if they drafted dot dot. Okay. And he became the main guy. I'm sure the kids your something. He really, but he became you know, he had the ball in hand all the time and the kid banishment didn't any longer and that was a little bit of a problem. But I think if you put him on a couple of superstars a couple of match play any ill understand he's gotta take can take a back sheet to adopted in nineteen year old kid, it's a little little pasta swallow, but they take backseat Durant. Well. Different story. Right. Right. Wouldn't you say, Sean? Oh, yeah. The guy likes me. Don't know. Look don't give you Louis. I smith. Thank louis. Thanks for the call. I I like them. I'm not saying I like him. I want to keep them here. I'm just I'm a little concerned about giving up Williamson Barrett. If they get the first or second pick, I he he'd be our own guy for Davis. He'd be our own guy and Ono's there's something about that. There really is the only thing we're pausing really didn't bother me because porzingas is constantly hard. And I don't know I it's a risk to give posing as a max contract next year based on either. In fact, the guys and play for year and a half. And who knows how he's going to be physically. So I'm just a little worried about that. But let's look let's see we'll see how plays out eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six. Anthony in south orange. Hi, anthony. Hey, Joe what's going on the call anytime, bro anytime and listen to a long time think is in a big fan. But big fan. Listen just want to elaborate on I think the guys with the Knicks the three hundred monsters I called on coach the two guys atop bills and right, Jerry. They're really doing a lot of things that you want. I mean, I listen to you every day. You say they are doing the things that you are calling for not giving not giving away takes that messing around with later picks and not trading God. And here's the thing. I kinda disagree with Frank. He's a good listen. He's a good read also. But where I disagree with him. It's easing the brother and KP didn't give any problems. I try to kind kinda know what's going on. I'm not totally independent, but I'm a little bit. Okay. Was giving information is hair say we're going to do that Frank was Franken Santa's essays the guy, but the brother was really kinda like saying to all the players around the league kinda like putting that narrative that tell them Thompson. Yes. Oh, you know, Frank probably, you know, he he does a good job on social media. But he touted missed that a look at the kiss some of that stuff was really going around and the guys in the afternoon was also mentioned that sort of one o'clock show. And you know, if my show we're finally on the right track. I love love what these guys are doing. Now. Do we have to get the right guys? Yes, we do have to get to ride. Your is sure. I'll take Kimba. I take him. But I take a walk go walk. What? I don't remember a jersey, by the way. His jersey take Hawaiian definitely. Yeah. So that's one get it out to you just want to ask you before. I let you go because you heard what Lewis said would you trade the first the second pick for Davis? Yes. If if I've already guaranteed, and I'm getting a a a carry which I want or a Kimber which I want because then now I think that we're able to get some extra moneys box peace in the world's gotta get extra shoot around a lot of these guys to, you know, carry penetrate, make a shot penetrate and kick we gotta get shooter. That's another thing that we've miss it. We we messed around Anthony Tim Hardaway sun a little bit. I mean, he he was at ease. What you call? He may he missed more than he made. And I I'm not real big fan of guys like that. He's he's he's he's a complimentary play. What you missed more than a big fan of those shoot around me. I absolutely we'll give up those pixel. Anthony, I know. A quality guy while they ask questions, Iran. The basketball guy that you got coming. Okay. What's the accent? Yeah. Russia this action from what does he think about the the big Isao stands today? And the fact that building all this kind of like running away with a little bit also. But does he think about what's going on seeking all Rutgers and Linda week when we get down out at him. And thank you, man. When are we getting out of their Jim bejon oddity? He's Syracuse the next four years because the sun is there Anthony he's Jim bay will leave Syracuse when he wants to leave. Let's be honest onstage pushing them out. He's gonna leave when he wants to leave. I will ask John about that ask about all local teams Saint John's as well. And Villanova's and really play very very well. I mean Villanova Jay Wright is really wanted to great coaches. I mean, there's no doubt about it. I mean that program now they really it's on the he's doing all the I like the Duke Kentucky level. I mean, that's that's where it is. The Duke Kentucky North Carolina, you know, that kind of level now that Villanova's on. Doubt eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six Audie in Brooklyn. Hey, joe. How's it going, man? Audie anytime what's up before putting the med comment that I have have you played with the rule with the golf with a pin inside. I actually have done even before it was. We play. Well, we played. There is no specific rule. You know what I'm saying? I played we played with it. Just to see how it is. Right. And it's the speed of play. But it was the worst thing because you play with four at least when everybody's on the green this fall. Just the way you think. Now, you gotta put out who's driving me crazy go they say watching watching all the golf, I watch you know, guys like Faldo and he's kind of guys bake offense. You know, they all say that. That's actually, it's a higher percentage of may. I don't know. I'm telling you, you're asking me. I don't know if I agree with that. But this is what I've heard. He's the worst. And then as far as the Brady thing. Let's I do like to hire. You we need a guy with experience and his assistant manager. You got this guy all my friends? Yeah. But maybe you could convince the off the the the will spend money, right? We got coming up. I go you. That's right. It wasn't a big thing. Now. Call me two years from now would they gotta get rid of the pay twenty million dollars. The brodie. He's all talk. I feel like I'm I'm listening to Tom Cruise..

"It's JJ after Jesse Stansky right here on the fan. And I was what tonight. To Lakers Celtics because I'm flipping around trying to find something to watch and I stumbled upon the Lakers Celtic game about midway through the second quarter and the Lakers as we know they've been a total mess. You know, O'Brien is out. Now, he comes back to deal with all the Anthony Davis. Rumors damn big in that game. And then they all of a sudden shot the lights out from anger on to call pope. Everybody was hitting shots. Utah is going to be too little too late. They have this wild sequence at the end of the game mystery blocked flexing Rondo at the buzzer drains it and Lakers walk it off against the Celtics. I like seeing I wanna know why something's been doing little too much winning Boston. I shouldn't say the Celtics Boston has been a little too much winning for my liking saw to see them. Get knocked down a little bit. It was nice to say. We head to our good pal. Alex in Newark, New Jersey, he's up next on the fan. Alex. JJ I wasn't gonna call. But as the song goes, you haven't lived life to a rainy night in Newark. So I decided to give you a call. How are you doing what I'm talking about Alex? We call that dedication, even if it's a day where you're playing hurt my man. So it's good to hear your voice. What do you got going on? What chicken? So just on the NBA a few things first of all, I know both of us me more. So being a six a fan, but you had some interest when our boy Malachi Richardson was traded to the Sixers added interest last Q sky had was carter-williams. Unfortunately, I love you know, there's Malachi was cut. So I have a little trivia question for you. There are four active therefore Syracuse players on active MBA rosters, currently who they are nothing. We're not talking about the D league. Correct. Alex. No active on rosters. Okay. Grand is one for sure in Oklahoma City. Grant is one let's see is. We're keen, Christmas and other. No, no, no obvious. NS? No. Well, it's amazing. How many acclaimed out for? Attitude. Carter Williams is another quarter Williams. Nope. No on an active roster. So hold on. Fellow in Williams are not Dion waiters, of course. Miami waiters to okay. The transfer. We had him as a transfer. Jason johnson. Okay. Wesley johnson. I remember west left a little early final four less to little early. Final four scenarios would be Alkali. Final four Tyler Liden. Yeah. He's he's playing for the nuggets baron. Train. No, Alex back and forth with the D league now. Yeah. Well, he's on. He's currently on the roster. It goes to show ya. Mentioned mazing. Yeah. No, it's amazing. How they're accused we have failed to put anyone I mean to be honest. Since Akeem Orrick waiters this at a decent MBA career, but doesn't it speak to the genius of Jim bejon to not have the elite of the elite. And yet the program is churning out NC double A tournament appearances. They're still getting the second weekend. Every now, and again, I mean, it's not like the last three or four years they've been dealing with McDonald's all Americans and guys that are dare I say point at the next level. No without the Kentucky. Or now Duke, you know, four or five one and done so sticking to my Sixers in the NBA. Obviously folks it today. I hated them. I mean, bitter sweet because you always hope for that potential. But obviously, you know, what it goes down as potentially one of the worst number one picks of all time. And I was thinking you have Kwami Brown. You had Anthony Bennett, you have Odin who went over Durant. I mean, you could go any for those in in and pick one out ours because what we gave up to get him. But you know, it's right up there right up. There is one of the worst unless something develops down the road one of the worst number one picks them all time. No question about it will go down as an all time bus stand. What makes it worse? Alex is that you moved up in the draft. And the guy the Boston Celtics ended up taking I think has NBA stall written all over him and Jason Tatum. So it's one of those situations where you almost would have been better off staying where you. Were you take Tatum, and you had a really nice player now for the next couple of years. But here's the good news for you, Alex. Even though the Foltz pick is a disaster. He's the boss of flop, good riddance. Your team now is much better than they were at the start of the year. Harris she gave up a lot. I see what the Cooper's doing. But now you have a lineup that has Harris. It has Butler has Simmons. It has impeded has writing. That's a big boy six or lineup that I think is ready to go in the Eastern Conference. What about some other pieces to help like the guy that other guy from the clippers? I got NS from the rockets. So no, no, no, we we we've definitely fortified a little bit at the Knicks. I'm excited, and you know, all the talk about the mixed potentially could find to mega guys. I mean, we can to wearing a position where we could keep an Harris or lose one of them and still with a little space grab another one. And that's the my main point is it was like today with the Knicks doing nothing and no one expected him do anything. I mean, supposedly Anthony Davis is on their list. I don't know what the heck they're gonna give up. I mean, maybe if question if you've got the number one pick, would you trade you got in the package if you could with Kevin Knox, or whatever they go get Anthony. I would not Alex. However, if I hear to back channels that all of a sudden, Kevin Durant is enamored with the idea of when Anthony Davis, and that that will influence his decision, obviously, I would think a lot differently point. If you were asking me what I would do specifically. No, I want to see the next keep that pick. I've said that over and over again, I don't want to move the first pick. I don't want to see the next move the first pick and the story. Now, let me another one, and listen, I was listening to us to watch tonight. You have to like the Mussa's in sows and God bless them up the world everyone, and no one has any idea. Let's be honest. And he's already is fragile appears as fragile as can be when already just getting questions about playing in New York and puck. But kevin. Why does everyone assume it's a foregone conclusion that this guy is going to go play in New York? I mean, are they setting themselves up for the fall in disappointment to end all disappointments? What are we going to do if they don't get the guy that they just assume it's in their back pocket by a great point? And I would not make that assumption of on the Knicks absolutely not if I'm a Nick fan with the way I've been beaten down over the last seventeen years you want to I'm gonna come on the air and say, it's a guaranteed. Kevin Durant coming here. No way. No how and his other thing. Alex with Hayes sensitive demeanor. Is it a given that he wants the bright lights of New York? He may say, wow. This was a big deal with me in the bay area. What is it going to be like when he I sold send the in the? The Bondi's or in my face day after day. I may not want that. No, you're right. And and just one more on the NBA real quick. You know, you keep saying there's three teams in east better than ours. Listen, I'll give you raptors potentially. And obviously, the bucks for what currently is the Celtics have been playing constituted with their chemistry. Looks like it's just completely out of whack a tonight's another temple says they're better than the other teams in the top four. That's fair. That's totally fair. You're seventy Sixers are playing. However, you have to acknowledge this when you go head to head against that team. They own you be fair, they own you. The old Sixers as constituted last year. Maybe. And with Tobias Harris will make a difference. Maybe they will maybe they won't. But that is why I'm skeptical my friends so you now rest up green tea safe travels back. We will chat tomorrow, right? My friend. God bless you JJ from Alex and wonderful New York New jersey, who's a big seventy six fan. He doesn't like the fact that include the Sixers as a team that can come at east. I think Boston Milwaukee Toronto better. Sixers a better, no doubt with Butler and Harris the better. Scares me, though, big spot. They could not be Boston couldn't beat him last year where they couldn't beat them without having a Hayward scarce stuff. What's New York? Gary up next on foul sound Gary Cohn on jayjay, Gary how are ya? Goodman cone about the Kevin Durant situation. I don't know what you would say would be as best way to go about handling these questions. I personally think he's going to go to New York. But. Obviously, your gut feeling, but I don't know what to do with the situation. Oh, it's very simple, Gary. It's very very simple. You wait your PR? People would everybody insurance? She say, okay. We're gonna talk about basketball. We're gonna talk about the warriors. We're gonna talk about whoever will plan on that given night when I talking about the Knicks when talking about free agency, we're not doing any stuff. That's how you handle it, really simple. As that said. The Lakewood J up next fouls up Jay. Hey, JJ great show. I have a question about I'm questions. I actually have a question regarding Kevin Durant. And I have a question actually about the NFL with break start with Iran. I'm trying to figure out why everyone's on the assumption that that you'll be getting next when again like I have like a. Few one of my friends felt like yeah. The Knicks have a great a great. History with the garden and doesn't that? I just NBA player. I don't care about your story. You know, like oracle eleven the history, and they they're making yesterday, you know, winning championship after championship. And I think the Mets might even be a better fit. The fact that it's not probably such a big media market. New York get the same endorsement deals, and they have a great talent way more down than the next are. So I don't know why people are so like giving late. I I'm trying to figure out the whole thing where posing as not make any more. Like. And. Yeah, that's my question. Why? Air Jay to say. The nets are better position right now is a roster. Aren't they anybody with debate that however, you have not heard one inkling that Kevin Durant has an interest in playing with the Brooklyn nets the New York knick. Rumors are coming from the fact that is good buddy, Royal ivy's on his staff. You have climate is agent. Who's a big time Nick fan when you put those puzzle pieces together, that's why those reports are out there. I'm not making this up. I don't think other people around the league or making this up. Jay, obviously, they're getting it from somewhere. I'm not assuming it's an assumption. I agree to say now, it's. To say, it's a guaranteed. No, no, no. It's not a guarantee I'm just telling you that's where they're getting their for. What's your other question? Go ahead. I hear that before. I want to know how they're able to the next able to trade, you know, thing thinking woman. Next league finding out about it. And yet with the Lakers entire league found out about it. And everyone in the Lakers upset with the pelicans. And they got everyone upset and like I'm surprised they even one day, especially winning the way they did where everyone the team and unhappy another feel comfortable on the in feel comfortable because they feel like it was supposed to be they're going to be traded and. Stay was once or three nobody heard about it wasn't like, you know, people wasn't leaks before and I'll come to this nation was leaked by the Lakers was intentional just like stir up stir up things or. The Lakers swatted Anthony Davis. I mean, I don't think it was some idea of all we're gonna throw rumors out there and try and fire up our guys. No, I think they want Anthony Davis. They could work anything out. Here. The Lakers been in a funk because it is maybe we'll look back at this. Thursday night game is a game that gets LeBron company into the playoffs. They need it. And I.

"And can't keep kyri. This season while acquiring Anthony Davis this season, they would have to move kyri Irvine to bring in Anthony Davis. And the reason why don't think that would happen. Ladies and gentlemen is. Because hey, did you see the show that carry urban put on Saturday night? Let me tell you right now. Kyrie irvings boxoffice. He's not just a champion. He's not just a superstar. He's box office. Kyri Irvine is one of those rare individuals you walk through the turnstile to see how would I know this? You are listening to a man covered. The first ten years of Alan Iverson's career. A six foot gold from Georgetown that dude. The answer that too. And I got news for you tell Joe, and I asked you, this course, Jonathan with a new look at me when I'm talking to you all. Have y'all the of miniature God that's sets? Alan Iverson that was box office career. Remember, Steph Curry's legitimate, six three. And if you wanna throw him into that category. Okay. Say him inquiry. But Cari, Irvine is box office. You walk through the turnstile to watch this brother perform. I was on get up the other morning show. Mike Greenberg show Jalen rose in the crew on get on ESPN every weekday morning from eight AM to ten AM the other day, they asked me in terms of handle ball handling skills. Who's demand kyri Steph? Curry you kidding me. Is this a trick question? There's nothing to discuss ear you damn right as kyri Irvine. You go to curry for that shot. But in terms of dancing on people and using a nasty handle put on a show a lot Kenny Anderson back in the day a lot of the way Pearl Washington back in the day. God rest his soul. Remember that former star as Syracuse. What a so. In college. Just so y'all know to put into perspective, all you young whippersnappers out there, the Wayne Pearl Washington guard rest his soul was a greatest show in college than Michael Jordan. As dick towel as Jay Bilas as Jay Williams. As Jim bejon. The body. Would it came to a show in college basketball? There was no greater show to DeWayne Pearl Washington and anybody that Sawyer play in college at Syracuse knows. I'm right. You gotta remember I go back to the days of Margarian, Kenny Anderson the way per Washington before that more price when he was at Georgia Tech with that shot off the dribble. The way that he did it Kenny Smith when he showed up at North Carolina. Bobby Hurley in the crew it don't matter to Wayne per Washington to this day as we're standing here right now. Ladies and gentlemen, is the greatest show in the history of college basketball that we have ever see ask very Omar Jackson for ABC and ESPN if I'm lying. Ask them. But I digress. I digress. Magic Johnson's name for reason. Series abroad, kyri and all of this other stuff is because I'm telling y'all what the role blocks are to the potential maneuverability of an Anthony Davis. Here's what it comes down to as pertains to Irvin. Magic johnson. He is the one on the clock. It's not LeBron James. It's not Luke Walton. It's irvin. Magic johnson. The magic man is on the clock and Maga. My brother Magic Johnson. Is there anything I can do for you? Is there anything at all? I can do for you. I cannot tell you how much for this to happen. And that's no knock against the pelicans. Or whatever Alvin gentry is a damn good coach. And he's done a good job. Del Deb's good. You're in New Orleans..

He's not just a champion. He's not just a superstar. He's box office. Kyri Arvin is one of those rare individuals you walk through the turnstile to see how would I know this? You are listening to a man covered. The first ten years of Alan Iverson's career. Six foot gone from Georgetown that do that too. And I got news for you tell Joe, and I ask you, this course, Jonathan with rope. A new they'll look at me when I'm talking to you all. Have y'all see of miniature God that's since Alan Iverson that was box office like, Kyrie Irving. Remember, Steph Curry's a legitimate six three. And if you wanna throw him into that category. Okay. Say him inquiry, but Karbi Irvine is box office you walk through the turnstile to watch this brother perform. I was on the other morning show. My Greenberg show Jalen rose in crew on get on ESPN every weekday morning from eight AM to ten AM the other day, they asked me in terms of handle ballhandling skills. Who's the man kyri? Steph curry, are you kidding me? Is this a trick question? There's nothing to discuss here you damn right as kyri Irvine you go to Steph curry for that shot. But in terms of dancing on people and using a nasty handle the put on a show a lot Kenny Anderson back in the day a lot of the way Pearl Washington back in the day. God rest his soldier. Remember that former star search use what a show in college. Just so y'all know to put into perspective all the young whippersnappers out there. The Wayne Pearl Washington, gar rest, his soul was a greatest show in college than Michael Jordan. As dick towel as Jay Bilas as Jay Williams. As Jim bejon. The body. When it came to a show in college basketball. There was no greatest show to DeWayne Pearl, Washington and anybody that Sawyer play college at Syracuse knows. I'm right. You gotta remember I go back to the days Margarian, Kenny and the way per Washington before that more price when he was at Georgia Tech with that shot off the dribble. The way that he did it Kenny Smith when he showed up at North Carolina. Bobby Hurley in the crew it don't matter to Wayne per Awasa it to this day as we're standing here right now. Ladies and gentlemen, is the greatest show is the history of college basketball that we have ever see ask very Omar Jackson for ABC and ESPN if I'm lying. Ask them. Digress. Aggress? Magic Johnson's name for reason. Series abroad, kyri, and all this other stuff is because I'm telling y'all what the role blocks are to the potential maneuverability of an Anthony Davis. Here's what it comes down to as pertains to Irvin. Magic johnson. He is the one on the clock. It's not the Brown. James? It's not Luke Walton. It's irvin. Magic johnson. The magic man is on the clock and Maga. My brother Magic Johnson. Is there anything I can do for you? Is there anything at all? I can do for you. I cannot tell you how much for this to happen. And that's no knock against the pelicans. Or whatever Alvin gentry is damn good coach. And he's done a good job. Del Deb's good. You're in New Orleans. Unfortunately, the small markets, they hate it. They're ready questioning it you got executives and agents that are ready ticked off their Rich Paul and club sports in a position to have a player the market of Anthony Davis demanding to be removed from the smaller market. So he can go to LA LA or someplace like that. Anthony Davis wants to be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. That's not the only team would my plan for. But that's clearly at the top of his list. This is why it's going down. And if y'all doubting me, let's understand the way this business works as a case body. Let's just take the wool away from is..

"Anyone at the table, disagree with that notion? I grew anyone though. Oh, happy in the hall. Absolutely. Not why not flagrant cheater. And you cheat yourself. You cheat the game, and you get caught you should not be reward. Okay. Let me. Let me tell you something. Jay, first of all, let's get off you how horse here I get hose. But Sealy not a mixed missing. In baseball is in the hall of fame who presided over the whole steroid error. Okay. Let's not pretend like that did not happen. And anyone I think we all can sit here and say that Barry Bonds was a hall of fame player even before he got into the whole stir where errors situation. So we can't pretend like this didn't happen in baseball. They put it in your sport. You feel you guys played against guys who were cheating or doping. We're doing other things. And did it did it perhaps influence the game in ways that were negative for yourselves? I didn't think so at the time, but I've come to learn that there's a lot more of it available than I thought was before. And it certainly bothers me, but I just don't believe in absolutes. Generally. I think that you could find justification for a lot of things it doesn't mean that you should. But in this in bond situations, clear justification is that he felt like everyone else in the sport was doing it. And no one was policing it. So he had to do it and football oftentimes, you're up on a contract here. And I could understand why would not encourage it understand that it is wrong. I understand if you're on a contract year, and you're either looking at million dollar contracts or finding a job at the foot locker. I think we can all understand why someone would make that decision. But isn't there a difference between understanding why someone would do again and rewarding them by putting them in the hall of fame, which is the greatest honor a player can possibly receive? We're we're we're constantly finding a way to take the kneecaps under away from a player. Like, I keep thinking about college basketball and say we found out that a coach, but he's a hall of fame coach and did it. So now, all of a sudden all of those championships and all of those wins. They don't matter you, cheated when the culture of college basketball is we pay players, and I don't think it's there. But as soon as we find out that a player did something wrong, in some way, shape or form, we take away. Like, you said the one thing that could be the highest honor bestowed upon their happening right now, Jim bejon. He's lost a lot of wins. But he's still is allowed to be the head coach of their team. And he's going to grow Famer. He's looked at different in baseball than it is in football, the fans and media. We don't care when football players cheat. Because when we wash the game, it's like, ooh fish. Physical. We understand why they would do it. But in baseball, it's the holy grail for the numbers. Very baas. I'm a left to his favorite baseball player. But once to me, you cross the line, and you we're knowledge the fact that somebody's a flat out cheater to me, you should reward them. I put them in all we will leave it there. There's one thing that never changes. Everyone has an opinion on this topic, by the way, Alex Rodriguez. We'll try man on this and more in our next hour. That's among the many things we have still to come here. This morning on get up. Cuyler Murray is challenging how tall quarterback should be so much. So one coaches changing his entire philosophy. You'll hear what was said about that. And whether or not we buy it, and and while Duke was crushing Pittsburgh on the road. Jailings wolverines needed every second at home. The best highlight of the night on the way..

What if you know, you're gonna put six cited that to begin the cameras double-overtime huge upset may get tournament the bottom of it? I just love through coaching hubs. It's almost just like not admitted what? Say syracuse. I can't believe we've demanding this. Did you see on question? Themself cancer related problem. But it also no one asked him. So how does that? Himself. Jim big win. Notice you piss your pants what happened there? Why only cancer? Okay. Sorry. Jim. He did. I think he's I don't know if he's still I don't know. So it's the last documented time happened in twenty-six picking he's done it before says there was a similar wet spot. I'm gonna get the video. I think he has like issue here. Yeah. Which I am I whatever reason, but. My pants many times. It's nothing be shamed. I don't think similar what spot right? Okay. So this guy's Fergie. That's fine. Pena pants is not something people should look down on it happens. I'm not it's It's like..
