Rep. Jim Banks Says Trump Set the Playbook and Biden Retreated From It
"That. And I'll tell you something else. Congressman, Every American citizen who travels overseas will no longer be safe. They can be kidnapped. They can be brutalized because the enemy knows this administration won't do a damn thing about it. Unlike Trump, where they know They knew he would hunt them down to the ends of the Earth. And I love the way the Joe Biden takes responsibility by constantly pointing to Trump. I would encourage members of the House. Republicans, at least Read Trump's plan, whether you wanted to get out or not read the plant. They had to negotiate with the Afghan government. There are all kinds of contingencies in there. I mean, it's it's not what's going on today. That's not what Trump did. Trump set the play. But avoid this situation by keeping a light footprint of special operations counterterrorism forces there to make sure that this wouldn't happen Mark and about the administration retreated for that the blame falls. Fully on his shoulders. And I think Trump would have bombed the living hell out of these people. And we know we did it before. You're exactly
Rep. Jim Banks Agrees Republicans Should Start Biden Impeachment Efforts
"I mean? The Republicans going to rally around impeachment. I know I know. It's a tough thing. I know we don't have enough. I know all that stuff. But shouldn't we start building the case to remove this man? Well, without a doubt, mark. I mean, if this would have happened on Donald Trump's watch if a single American life would have been lost because of the direct actions and orders By Donald Trump is the commander in chief. You better believe that Democrats would have moved toward and ultimately have impeached. Donald Trump, and now we have a growing number of casualties. The number of keeps growing. It just grew a little bit more reports by the Pentagon. More more attacks, unconfirmed reports Of more disasters ongoing on the ground in Afghanistan directly because of the incompetence. This administration and this commander in chief has proven time and time again over the last week. He is incapable of performing his duties as commander in chief. So to that point, we don't have to make the case He's made it for us. His negligence, incompetence and that of those who he has surrounded himself with. I'll tell you this week we had a number of classified private briefings from the secretary of state, the secretary Of defense, the chair of the Joint Chiefs. And others in the Biden administration who told us one thing behind closed doors. They admitted mistakes. They talked about the dangerous situation on the ground at any other president. Time and time again appear. Before camera think it's scripted remarks that cut directly contradicted the statement, So we heard behind closed doors by those around him, either. He's been lying to us all along, which that in and of itself deserves Look at impeachment, where he's not talking to those that he put in his powerful positions to advise them and to perform the duties and ultimately, to direct the activities on the ground. Afghanistan no matter how you look at it. This is a disaster of Joe Biden's Don't

Let's ask him indiana congressman. Jim banks mark davis pleasure. To have you on the hugh hewitt show how you doing sir. Hey good morning mark. Thanks for having me. So what's your thought. I mean i know you wanted to. I mean you're you're having conversations with chairman bennie thompson about how to bring some even-handedness to this january. Sixth the dog and pony show. That would have been nice. But i think this committee is is is collapsing under its own partisan weight. And you've had some things to say about that in the intervening days that might even more value. I don't know what do you think it's a great way to put it marketing. It's obvious at this point. That pelosi isn't isn't interested. All in an investigation is only interested in building narrative which is a anti-trump anti republican anti Millions of americans who voted for donald trump. She wants to. She wants this all to be about that. She doesn't wanna talk at all about why. The capitol was vulnerable on january six. And what we could do to to fix fix the issues at the very systemic breakdown of leadership at the at the highest levels of the capitol police which is a bureaucratic issue. She's not interested that she's obviously interested in the american people. See it for for what it is. I mean in fact I don't know if you saw this a couple of days ago. Harvard of all places put out a whole showed that fifty eight percent of the american people. Think that this committee is biased. To begin with so to your point. I mean the. The committee process that the american people see. See for what it is. It's a political stunt. It isn't all about investigating. What happened on january six to to do everything that we can't make sure that never happens again. I've heard a number of people phrase. This and i'll try to encapsulated that. Usually a committee has questions and they investigate things. Mma yield the answers that they have secured in this particular case. They have the answers. They have the narrative they're just looking to solidify it. How long will will the this drama be allowed to to drag can do it. As long as they want free country for the moment so how. How long is this committee going to continue to see then wring its hands about this i. I'm only predicting the way it's going. So far mark you can see this lasting until november of twenty twenty two. I mean for obvious reasons. Right i mean this is their they. They've they've made their their platform their agenda in this congress almost entirely focused on january six and and again going after republicans. Something Yesterday happened. That was very significant though democrats just got. They're pulling back and it didn't look good sean. Maloney d triple c chair from from new york Calls all the democrats together and says hey guys. We have a big problem. Our messaging isn't breaking through and republican if the electoral holiday public is there to win back the majority. I don't need to pull the tell us that. Because you when you when you get out around the country would come back to fort wayne. Indiana aah right now you feel it. You feel the momentum. The american people know that these democrats are not focused on what they care about. Which is inflation on the rise record. Crime waves Occurring in cities all over america the crisis at the border on top of all of that the anti-americanism critical race theory being taught in our schools and shoved on our military. That's what the american people care about. The democrats are almost exclusively focused on january six and the d. The d triple c. Polling is showing that to be the case so they they've they've Rang the alarm bells They did it yesterday. There's there's a couple of a couple of stories that they can politico this morning about the of even warnings from debbie dingle michigan saying we got. She's the chief messenger of the democrat party. They they know they have a big problem. I think i think mark to get to the bottom line. Their problem is that they're focused on the past their focus on january six. They're not focused on the future. And there's not a there is not a political leader or a political party and the history of the world that was successful but the by being focused on the past and not being focused on the future. And that that's why i have a sense the republicans are are not gonna win back majority. We're gonna went back big a strong republican majority in the midterm election in the house. And i think there's a good chance we do it in the senate even though at all the pregnancy care say that can't happen. If this is a wave election wave election feel you could see us winning back. Majorities in both chambers. I don't believe in jinks is and i certainly don't want anybody to get overconfident. But doggone it looks like the landscape late. I want to talk about a couple of those other things too but lasting on the committee. They've been at their devious work for just days. Just a handful of days and they've already vanished into the tapestry. They're already being ignored. They've they've earned the obscurity that they so richly deserve an to imagine this going on for another month is hard another six months hard. You're talking about them. Still holding some semblance of sessions through november of next year. Yeah i i don't know that they can keep it up but they're gonna do everything they can to try but they wanted this circus. They want nonstop coverage on all the networks like they had last week By the way i created a website could've pelosi vetoed me and and jim jordan for this committee but i created a website veto pelosi dot com inclined more facts about what the real questions are about january six and and how to help us by back against a pelosi political stunts like very cool veto pelosi dot com latte nuts and bolts. Question on this. I think a lot of republicans Probably jim jordan key among them and kevin mccarthy among them are going to get subpoenaed by this committee. Should those subpoenas be honored or ignored or something in between well pretend to know how that how that process works or how how will play out. But it just goes to show that how how Just how fake of processes i mean. This is really about investigating january six. And what caused it issuing a subpoena to kevin mccarthy because he had a phone call at the very end of the day at toward the end of the activities of that day with president trump. Or the same jim jordan. It just goes to show. It's not about what they say it's about that that's not. That's not investigating. What led up to what happened on january six th that's dragging republicans through the but and and create political theater. It is a couple of minutes last couple of minutes with congressman jim banks. You got a tweet milan. Just last hour the house. Gop needs to make reforming and raining in the powers of the cbc. One of our top priorities. When we win back the majority let me. Have you weigh in on that and the notion of the eviction moratorium. Because that actually came from the cdc what is government doing getting its nose in between the the relationship between landlords and tenants. It's clearly unconstitutional. In fact before. I as i tweeted. I thought you know what they've done is clearly illegal. It's unconstitutional i mean. Even joe biden said we know. I know this is unconstitutional. But we're going to do anyway but We have rain in the cdc have to read any of these agencies or they're led by unelected bureaucrats if republicans can't get that we didn't get that we've failed at that when we had the majority in the.

Nancy Pelosi's on Her Last Legs
"Let's begin with nancy. Pelosi making what i think is a grave error. I think she always hear about. Donald trump destroyed the norms. Okay nancy pelosi as speaker is wiping out the all the customs traditions of the house of representatives and she must pay what she did is on this baloney january six commission. And i gotta tell you about january six guys. i keep hearing how. It's a giant riot and insurrection. Look i was in the los angeles riots. Fueled by maxine waters not democrat. I was on the streets for three weeks with third battalion. Hundred and sixtieth infantry. That's a riot what happened on capitol hill was a frat party. Okay no comparison all right and the only person killed on. Capitol hill was an unarmed trespasser veteran. Shot by a cop whose name we don't know. Dozens were murdered in los angeles. So you know. Save your drama for your mama. 'cause i'm not entertaining. It and nancy pelosi wants to have this kangaroo court commission so she appoints liz. Cheney nominal republican and now she's going to appoint adam kin zinger the r-enfield of the gop caucus but she's not allowing kevin mccarthy to put jim banks big friend a show and jim jordan on the committee. She doesn't approve. She is picking who the republicans can put on committees. This cannot stand. This is not happened before. Now they strip marjorie taylor green her seats and that was a bad precedent. But it's special. This was a merger we we had to do it. If kevin mccarthy doesn't retaliate. They've set a new standard. He he needs when he becomes majority leader. He needs to and in fact he needs to announce it now. I'm going to strip all you democrat committee chairs

"Jim jordan is one of the now more well known republicans after both of the impeachment experiences with Former president trump had met with the president but in the days before maybe he's a witness Jim banks was the person that they had recommended is to be the top republican. The ranking republican for the select committee had made fairly incendiary statements about the work of the select committee and how he thought that it was going to basically just be an apologist organization for democrats. There was gonna try to go after and pillory trump necessarily so. What did polisi say about why she wasn't going to let either of those members of the house beyond the on the committee so she said it was their statements so as the legislation allows. I didn't accept two of the five people were pointed. They had made statements and taken actions of that. I think would impact the integrity of the committee. The work of the committee of the fire. Nancy Pelosi Is Obsessed With January 6th Over Other Issues
"Nancy Pelosi's Inquisition Committee. There was some news about that yesterday. Republicans oppose putting an excellent congressman Jim Jordan, and also Jim Banks on that commission. Pelosi said, No, we're not having that essentially blowing up any attempts to make this a bipartisan endeavor which it was never going to be from the beginning. Why, why His best to ask a question to make an assertion right one of the golden rules of the show. Well, One of the reasons is she wants to right now. She just wants to keep this thing going until the midterm elections and afterwards into the next presidential election so she can subpoena whoever she wants, Ask outrageous questions and keep this in the public eye. Because that's what she wants to do. Nancy Pelosi, let's just be crystal clear. We have a fully open, porous southern border, where hundreds of thousands of people are piling into the country. Some of them infected with Covid. I thought Covid was a big deal. I I was, I was told that by everyone professionals, medical folks politicians, they don't care. They're they're not handling any. Never in the history of Congress, a committee she wants to pick Who can go on Look at she calls me today to object. It's her there Select Committee that just pure politics about January 6th. She doesn't want to answer the question why the National Guard was not there. She didn't want to answer the question of why they weren't prepared. That's the answer. Why did we let these Capitol police down? Why weren't the national guard there they knew on December 14th, the head of the Capitol. Police knew what was going to happen, but they have to answer to her. She tried to pick and choose WHO Republicans could put on She objected to Jim Banks. She didn't object when Jim Banks served in the Navy and fought in Afghanistan. She objects to to Jim Jordan was a ranking member of Judiciary Committee who has oversight to this I mean, this is her absolute power trying to control everything. So I just said, we're out. Which was very, very wise. I think a very, very good move. You don't have to put up with that. She doesn't get to control both parties with an iron fist, does she No, it's the People's House, not Pelosi's house. This is nothing but a sham, and it just shows she was never serious about finding the truth.

For defending foreign terrorist organizations and using rhetoric, which contributed anti Semitic attacks across the United States. Now you would think this is not controversial. I. B. C. a good morning so good to be with him it was a piece over at National Review by Kevin Williamson and the peace from him was to the idea of this this a line that's being used was first used by the president and that the Q. R. can't be worse than the disease that is to say how we save the country can't be worse than what coronavirus could do to the country and in the piece Williamson discusses that the Jonah Goldberg book journey of cliches is is very real and your name please Jesuit Madonna Goldberg and it's basically the idea that we use these cliches as a way of saying things would do they really mean anything you know one of the things he mentions is people who say I may not agree with what you say but I'll defend to the death your right to say will you really defend to the death my right to be me really because because I don't believe you that's a cliche in the end result of course you're not going to don't be don't be silly but this conversation this this this question of the disease the disease the the Q. R. can't be worse than the disease you can argue that certainly that that is cliche I think that though it would be wrong to say that from that we just leave it blank and we then don't do it again and even where Williamson digs in you know we don't know how effective are current practices are going to be a mitigating this this pandemic we don't know how deep or long lasting economic damage will be we don't know if our current course of action is going to work out we do not know the economic consequences of going back to fast and worsening a pandemic I I think these things are given I always thought that they were given I never once thought that B. concept as I have written about it you you can't stop you know you can't stop society you get it you can't stop pandemic my stop in society you can't just put the brakes on say we're done and the people who are so desperate to say that really as I see it have no consideration for those people most affected by people saying you know the ones least affected by the the least affected by the least in an economic sense and if you tell me it doesn't matter I'm sorry of course it matters into that economic sense I will say that I don't think Americans understand even what they mean I want to start make sure we have an understanding of definitions here and what this means for you it doesn't matter if you live in green water caramel it doesn't matter if you live in Avon or diced it makes no difference if you live downtown or you live in Columbus you will be impacted in the following ways short term pain long term pain and sacrifice because there's a difference between pain and sacrifice there's a difference I maybe sacrifice even has to be extrapolated out further into changes in attitude changes in style changes in function short term pain is that the restaurants are closed for a couple weeks long term pain is that the restaurants are closed for a couple months sacrifice.
