"Rita Moreno in the original, I'm always going to want to spend more time with the sharks. I'm always going to want to spend more time with Bernardo. He's just that much more charismatic, I think than Tony is, but does it have to be that way? I don't know if it does. That's that's really the question, right? But I'll split the difference with you a little bit on Tony. I do truly hear what you're saying and know you're not completely wrong. But I'll go back to the grittiness, right? The original prologue if you think about it and I rewatch some of it today on YouTube just to make sure that I wasn't misremembering it. There's some graffiti on the walls, right? It isn't Central Park west. But it feels like this musical's version, this romanticized version of New York City. And then you watch the opening of this film. Think about the efforts. Spielberg undertakes here to extend that prologue and showcase that grittiness, the grimness of the streets. The way they raise the stakes on all of these characters circumstances. These neighborhoods there, living in, they're not just neglected. They're being demolished. Literally. Right underneath the great opening. They live in a war zone. Yes. We see the sign. Slum renovations. So you basically have two choices. You can take the city's money and leave or you can not take the money and you can stay and you're gonna get kicked out. And that all does, I think, here's a Tony Kushner touch that I think works, and I think there are many of them. It underscores the irony of these gangs fighting. When they have actually so much in common, including what should be a common enemy. So I like that tragic irony, and it also reinforces in a way that you don't really get in the original why these gangs are so angry in the first place. Now how this ties back to elgort? Well, just as you have to suspend disbelief in the original that Natalie Wood is Latina, you have to suspend disbelief that Richard beymer is a badass. And it's more than just that here, Al Gore's Tony seems capable of beating people up again, he is very tall. There does just have to be something about his presence where you truly understand why someone like riff and the rest of the jets look up to him the way they do and why what he says carries so much weight. And why he's so confident albeit completely naively in the fact that he thinks he can just convince Bernardo to like him. This is a Tony who is scared of what he's capable of doing that he can't hurt people, but he's not scared of anyone else. This is a Tony that served time and sing sing. Josh, did you believe any of it? I mean, he's saying that and I'm like, there is no way baby face. No, I saw it. I saw it enough. Did I see it to the degree? You would have liked or maybe even I would have liked would another performer have really embodied that better, quite possibly. But was it a major improvement on in that respect? I think it was. It probably makes him a better, more interesting Tony, because I do think it also supports the plot. That when he does kill someone, I believed anyway, that he was actually capable of it. And I think Kushner and Spielberg here have given us a west side story that in other ways too, makes more sense psychologically and is more realistic if you will in terms of the character behavior and actions, which I do simultaneously appreciate and I also wonder, is that what is that what west side story actually needed or Romeo and Juliet actually needed more psychological realism? Well, I think you're talking about which I agree with. The sense of cultural disenfranchisement that is the undercurrent, the shared undercurrent to this telling, which was present in the original, but is more pronounced here and maybe in some more interesting ways. But yeah, not to spend too much time on elber elgort, but I will say as a thought experiment he doesn't necessarily have to be that dark. What's that? Are you going to say imagine Adam Driver? No, how about this? I'm going to go back to in the heights. How about Anthony Ramos? Play do snobby totally different character, not dangerous at all. But what did he have? That was the only guy I liked other characters in that movie. But he was almost too compelling because that was supposed to be a three person story, and the two women in that story kind of faded to the background because Ramos was just such a dynamic screen presence. That's the guy give me an actor not necessarily just Ramos, but give me an actor who can do that. Who can convince me that he's my best friend in two seconds, convince me that he can look across the dance floor and that Maria is going to instantly fall for him. And then also, yes, he would need some of those other layers to suggest that he's capable of violence. He's confused. And what I got here from this Tony from elgort is just like the guy's naive. I didn't see confidence in him thinking he could make Bernardo his friend. I just saw naivete. Bernardo makes her crowd. I believe, I believe that he is truly not scared of Bernardo, which is something I never believed in the 61. Well, okay. Is he better than? Yes. But we're talking a really low bar there. He jumped that bar by singing on his own. But let's get to some of the other performances because I'm totally with you that those are the characters that you want to watch. And I mean, honestly, I think that riff, Mike feist as riff, is way more dangerous. Put me in a dark alley. Put me in a dark alley. I don't want anything to do with riff. I would happily have two Ansel algarves. It was my question from this movie. And here's what fight does because it ties in with what you were talking about Adam with this psychology of this. And the fact that we understand what is driving the behavior of these two gangs and there are two different things, right? So for riff, you think about how it's the place, the jets are in the social Strata now and the poverty they're experiencing. What is the lieutenant's say? Great line, which I think is new to this production. He describes the jets as the last of the can't make it caucasians. He talks about the others who have moved to the suburbs, right? Or a wealthier part of New York City. And that you're left and you're going to be wiped out because you're just bottom of the rump..

The TRUTH About Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein

"Okay, I want to talk about this Epstein story. FAA accidentally disclosed new flight data on Epstein's private jets. So let me first kind of just frame the whole Jeffrey Epstein story. The Jeffrey Epstein story is one of the most extraordinary, hard to believe, yet most covered up stories of the last 30 or 40 years. You see Jeffrey Epstein was a glitch in the ruling class matrix. Jeffrey Epstein, he was obviously a provider of services for very wealthy and powerful men across the world. Royal family, potential other royal families across the world. Financiers, presidents, you name it, if you wanted to do something despicable, craven. And almost unspeakable on radio or podcasting, Jeffrey Epstein was the facilitator of that.

I've been in Scotland and I did not get to go. I was there for all last week. I did not get to go in one of these private jets like Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates or Al Gore, who were all at the conference as well. I had to fly commercial, but I was there all last week at this Glasgow summit and it was a doozy because I think even the longtime observers are saying, this is as Greta would say, a blah, blah, blah, summit. Not much has happened here except a lot of virtue signaling. So what is this? They're using this acronym cop. I didn't realize it's now running for multiple weeks. Well, what is this? What is this virtue signaling stand for and who, who is their Mark? Well, this is the United Nations climate summit. Cop stands for conference of parties. Bureaucratic language that they have every year. So next year's cup 27. This year's cop 25. And this whole process started in 1992 with the Rio earth summit that then Republican president George H. W. Bush signed and got us beholden to this big monster mess and then of course the first climate agreement they came up with was the Kyoto protocol when Clinton was president. And it's been going strong since then, annual basis. And they always pick exotic location. Scotland's probably the least exotic location that they've had it. Biden Says Pope Francis Called Him a Good Catholic

"Get to. I want to start with the globalists scenic tour throughout Europe. Now, I spent about an hour researching at this this morning and I found very little coverage about this. It was just kind of almost it was coverage as if this was the Emmys, or if it was the Oscars. It was like here's who showed up, here's what they wore. Here's how they wore their mask and the only questions reporters asked is who are you wearing? You know, what sort of fashion icon? Are they, are they, I guess advertising. So it started in Rome with the G 20 summit. Now these summits are largely a waste of time. It is nothing more than political theater. Joe Biden met with the Pope for an unusual amount of time. There is some Internet suspicion that there might have been something that happened in that meeting. We're going to do our own independent reporting until we kind of go through mentioning that one, but it's very strange meeting between Joe Biden and the Pope. And then the Pope comes out and he says, no, actually Joe Biden said with the Pope said, I don't think the Pope actually set up. He said, he had a Pope just wants to say, I'm such a great Catholic. Which I find very interesting for someone who is okay with a million abortions a year every single year how the Pope could call him a good Catholic, but I am not Catholic, therefore I'm not going to say much else about this Pope. You guys can email me your thoughts freedom at Charlie Kirk dot com for faithful Catholics out there that have opinions of what he has been doing or his certain perspectives. And so that's what it started in Rome, and now they're in Glasgow, Scotland. And so they all flew from Rome to Glasgow for a climate change event. So the most obvious first question is, why did they stay in Rome? Or they needed a real venue change? Why did they go to Naples or Florence? They could have just took a bus. Instead, they had to load up on private planes, and fly all the way to Glasgow, Scotland for the continuation of the internationalist climate change conference. And so Biden has been pushing for a borderless society while he was in the Vatican one of the most militarized walled off communities in kind of nations on the planet. "That game. And so I think people say, you know, from people with the Patriots that I texted about, they were just like, it's not a they were saying, basically, it's not a good look for him to be doing stuff like that out in public that he loses respect in the building, how much he had, I don't know. By basically showing to be a bill hanger on her. So I thought I would point that out in my column, and yeah, I stand by that. Yeah, I mean, listen, I don't know. I don't know Patricia. I don't know what's going on behind closed doors. It's rather obvious that Belichick likes him that they're, you know, Friends, whatever you want to say, how deep that friendship runs. Again, I don't know. But, you know, I think this is just Patricia saying, I don't care. I'm hanging with my guy. And I'm going to have a beer. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it. And you know, maybe there's a little bit of jealousy because of that friendship between Patricia and Belichick. But I'm not saying that those other people in the building don't have reason. To be a little, you know, I roll emoji to Patricia. It's just this idea that they're Friends. It's rather obvious. I mean, he's bill's guy. "jets" Discussed on Greg Bedard Patriots Podcast with Nick Cattles

"Last week, when we picked this game that U.S. had it at 7, I said lay the points all day. I felt like we were going to finally see the Patriots click on Sunday and put some things together. You know, broken clock is right twice a day. So I got that one right. And I know some people say, well, it's the judge. It's the jet. Listen, I think that's so disingenuous. Yes, it's the jets in the jets aren't very good at football, which would seem like a big deal since that's their job is to play football. But the fact that the Patriots just handled them and put up, you know what, 54 points on them. I do think that, again, relatively speaking, when you dominate an NFL team like that, it does mean something. And so I don't think we just sweep it under the rug. It's not like they won by a field goal here. They showed they are clearly better than the jets. And I think they showed at least some progression for sure offensively. The significance of the jets went for you Greg. Yeah, I think it was the biggest takeaway was the offense. I think that we've continued to see little baby steps with this offense. I mean, scoring 9 out of ten possessions against anybody is a job well done. And I thought that the Patriots, the thing that impressed me, Nick was just the execution level. You know, from the first drive of the game. I mean, that Nelson, the Kendrick born in Nelson Aguilar play. And I broke this down over at BS J this morning. Showed me a lot because that's the type of play where, you know, there's 5 different parts that need to come together for that play to be successful. And so far this season, the Patriots haven't been able to go really 5 plays without something blowing up. And so for Michael wenu to cut the end, who was extended. And so that makes it even tougher block. That's the whole key to the play. If he doesn't cut that end, the guy probably deflects the pass, maybe picks it off, it goes the other way. And we're like, here we go again. But he gets the end on the ground. That lets Mac Jones get the ball over to Kendrick Bourne. Nelson Aguilar at the same time is engaging the cornerback like he's going to block sell the block, toss the guy then go, then born. You know, a guy who doesn't throw the ball that often has to not only throw the ball in the money, but have good timing to where, you know, there's a guy coming right in his face, leaping to get the ball out there. I mean, it was very impressive. So, you know, that really got things off to a good start and I thought we.

"Is from The Wall Street Journal today about what's happening in China and Taiwan They are threatening Taiwan They have been flying fighter jets over Taiwan and the potential for an invasion of Taiwan is real You doubt me I'll get to that in a second Don't take my word for it Take military leaders responsible for the reason their word for it I'll get to that in a second But here's another reason an invasion of Taiwan could happen And why I'm worried about their handling of a deadly virus in a BSL two laboratory Xi Jinping's two track foreign policy an article by The Wall Street Journal by Walter Russell mead He says the answer to a potential to the potential Chinese invasion why they may do why they're being so aggressive He says that it's everything to do with politics at home China's facing disruptive conditions As the giant property developer ever grant you heard about that on my show early in the week stumbles towards collapse crackdowns on tech and other businesses have wiped out more than a trillion asset values and made businesses jittery about the Communist Party's next move They're getting desperate folks Here it goes on the piece At the same time a massive energy crisis is imposed widespread blackouts across much of China While the more transmissible delta variant presents the Chinese method of pandemic control with its harshest test yet desperate people do desperate things The Chinese Communist Party is littered with totalitarianism That's what communism and socialism is It embraces the totalitarian ethos It's tyrannical by nature It involves control and subjugation These people get desperate If they feel like they're losing control because the Chinese property markets collapsing people's money invested in its collapsing The population gets restless Delta starts spreading And then they're in the middle of a massive energy crisis whether ironically after talking all that junk about Australia they're going to need Australian coal just to keep their country's lights on If you start to see mass blackouts in China have you not asked yourself policymakers in D.C. who are worried about men and the women's bathroom Have you not asked yourself my gosh what could they do next when the going gets tough The tough don't get go and the tough get invading Taiwan over in over in China

Jones tosses 2 TDs, Patriots roll 54-13 as Jets lose Wilson

"The patriots in Georgia fifty four thirteen laugher over the jets rookie Mack Jones threw two touchdown passes in his first three hundred yard game that's what we want to do and I think we got a little flavor of if we do everything right throughout the week in practice well and do our job in the game the kind of translates over and you just play together as a unit Damien Harris and J. J. Taylor ran for two TV's each to help New England earned its twelfth straight victory and six consecutive season sweep over the one in five jets Jones finished twenty four of thirty six for three hundred seven yards and Harris rushed fourteen times for one hundred six yards for the three and four patriots the jets played most of the game without rookie quarterback Zach Wilson who suffered a knee injury two and a half minutes into the second quarter I'm the ferry

Disrespect: There’s No Other Way to Describe How Little the Biden Administration Thinks of the American People

"The New York Post editorial board had posted a great editorial. It's fairly brief. But honing in on that word disrespect, the post writes, there's no other way to describe how little the Biden administration and Democrats in general think of the American people. Asked about secret late night shuttling of illegal immigrants to various parts of the country. White House spokesperson Jen Psaki made a joke about the flight times saying they were earlier than you might like. Ashton got a supply chain crisis, upsetting the economy and driving up inflation. She quipped that it was the tragedy of the treadmill that's delayed. Americans care about how many illegals are being led into the country. The White House crew doesn't care. It's not a law or rule. They want to enforce. Americans care about whether they'll be able to buy holiday gifts and how much they're paying for groceries. Democratic officials don't care, it doesn't affect them, Psaki thinks you're waiting on a peloton when you're trying to feed your kids. How infuriatingly insultingly out of touch they are. Writes the New York Post editorial board. So Kamala Harris takes a jet and a gas guzzling SUV to lecture us about climate change. President Biden wished for scolds us about COVID, then walks maskless through a restaurant. The rules aren't for them, of course. And the media wonder, who are the deplorables who vote against these betters? Who would reject this obviously superior course? Who will kick the Democrats out of their majority next fall? The post says it's that great swath of America that is sick of being patronized by these arrogant elites. It's not a joke, Jen Psaki, no one is

"Who took it back to the house after a missed sixty eight yard field goal attempt but then also on the other side of the coin to in today. also you. you saw louis. Baltimore ravens kicker. Justin tucker drill a game winning sixty six yard field goal as time expired. I still can't believe. I mean as a typical detroit. Lions way to lose they as they lost to the baltimore ravens today but really really incredible. How with such regular regularity. These coaches are attempting sixty plus yard field goals. Today and guys are hitting them to. It's not you if a guy would attempt i sixty or sixty one yard field you've roll your eyes and say there's no ways even come close to ending it and now guys like justin tucker hitting it and It's really incredible to see you know with the kitchen. You want the jets. I mentioned adam gays. It's a case like offense that we've seen. The run game is non-existent. They actually managed to rush for one hundred fifty yards which by the way A couple years ago twenty. Eighteen legit. Chris ivory still. He had a gigantic game against the denver. Broncos y right around this time in the season week four week five right around there you know three or years ago whatever it was too as an eighteen i believe was and he had a game where he ran for over two hundred yards Set a bunch of jet single game records. Look great was incredible since then those game where the jets ran for over two hundred and fifty yards as a team since then the jets only run for one hundred fifty yards in a game three times including last week and they didn't come close to that number today Just absolutely terrible. They had no answers for the good defensive scheme that was run out there by fangio and the denver broncos today You know matt leflore. He's the younger brother of packers head. Coach mike leflore and you know you. Just sit here and say that. This kid looked completely outmatched today. He was playing checkers while the coaches were playing chess. The old you know that that old gag and It was just another non-competitive game of the last two weeks. We've seen the jets scored fifty two. Six is just the same old jets that i know the people over there in floral park new jersey. Eight eight eight year that but it looks like the same old jets right now. It smells like the same old jets right now and guess what better. Same old jets A couple of questions. I is it. Preparation is it coaching. Is it the players. What is the problem right now. i know the jets aren't most talented team in football. I know the jets probably wouldn't even be in the top twenty to twenty five. Most talented teams have football but they have talent. They have something now they have a better offensive line. Then what we've seen so far and they haven't played You know. I know mci becton is down and him. Being injured doesn't help but the offensive line very tucker mcgovern fant all those guys half to play better You know and they had to start opening more. Pass the running game which the running game also has to step up another guy. zach wilson. He has to step up today. Nineteen for thirty five hundred sixty yards no touchdowns. Two interceptions terrible cannot happen. Means the last two weeks against the broncos and the patriots. He's got no touchdowns and six interceptions unacceptable. No matter if he's getting bad breaks or bed play from his receivers..

"These teams are so far away from being relevant so far away from being good this time really only can be hearken back to in one thousand nine hundred seventy s when the jets missed the playoffs for ten straight years. Which by the way the jets have tied now the if the jets miss the playoffs this year will be ten straight and you know the. The giants are added playoffs every year since two thousand sixteen so seventeen eighteen nineteen twenty twenty one now. This will be the fifth consecutive year. The giants have missed the playoffs. Just nothing but incompetence from these two teams but like i said the jets lost today for the denver broncos. Twenty six nothing. that's right. I said twenty six nothing and no adam. Gays did not come back to coach the team. The last couple of weeks adam. Gays did not have the reins of of the offense that we so rightfully so criticized during his tenure. Here new york the jets have so far. You know if you look less year just were owing three like i said through those three games. They were outscored. Ninety four to thirty seven terrible absolutely terrible will this year. They've been outscored. Seventy two twenty so somehow even though the jets offense was terrible as year through three games. They've actually managed to score seventeen less points than they did last year. Incredible it doesn't it doesn't make sense. It boggles the mind. How bad the jets have been Through these first couple games you know offensively really the only time. They looked like competent. Offense was in the second half of the first game against carolina the entire game against the patriots. Patriots are really good defensive teams so i not gonna kill them for it but the entire game against the patriots. They look bed. You know you had zach going out there. Throwing four interceptions look terrible. this week. He goes there to get shutout. Jose mustard last week was two field goals. They mustard nothing today. They had a chance to make ten to three early on and hit a fifty six yard field. Goal which kicker rookie kicker matt amendola did hit. He drilled a fifty six yard or right down the middle but then they had a five yard penalty for delay of game which was ridiculous and they deserved it though. It wasn't a bad call by the officials. Were just ridiculous that the holder couldn't get the the stat down the ball. Dannon time absolutely ridiculous. The jets ended up blowing that that cost themselves five yards. It went to a from a fifty six yard field goal to a sixty one yard field goal. You know. I understand robert sala not wanting to get crazy especially if you watch football like i did. You saw the game earlier in the day where You know a hundred and nine yard Was one hundred. Nine yard. Touchdown was brought back by the jacksonville special teams player..

"We're running behind them, try and stop it. I almost feel like that's the way to go. 'cause I even if the jets know that's coming, unless they, you know, bump Quinn Wilson out, where he's on the outside shoulder of the guard. I don't know that they have the personal to stop that. Yeah. I mean, that's really the only place that they have to avoid running the footballs right. I quit and Williams, right? I mean, everywhere else it seems pretty vulnerable for the jets. I hope that they don't try to just run smash mouths because there should be plays in the passing game that will let's say that that's the only play they have to run, but I'm saying like, I think in week one against Miami, they fell a little bit into a trap of all we have these two tight ends that can block. We're going to put these two guys out at the end of the line and just run behind a four man wall, right? And that in theory is makes sense because you have you have four guys wide there that you can create a wall with, meaning four from center, right? So you have on when you win donu hunter Henry, let's say, or on the other side, mace and brown Johnny hunter Henry. And that is a really that four man wall is very can be very effective. But it didn't move the dolphins front, especially after trend Brown left the game in the way that they necessarily thought it would. Now, just really quickly, they ran the ball 27 times on first and second down and they ran 16 third dance in that game against Miami. If I'm the Patriots, you can not get into third down 16 times. I don't care what the events are going up against in the NFL. That's just not if you're in third down 16 times it's because you're not a good first and second down offense. That's the first and second down problem. That's a not a third down problem. And that also comes to the play calling and the lack of aggressiveness to a degree from Josh McDaniels. So they need to be more aggressive on offense. And that doesn't necessarily mean that they can't run the football, but they definitely need to be more aggressive on offense. Well, you know, it's interesting..

"20 is the code 20% off. Go get yourself one of those sweatshirts, 'cause they're very, very comfortable. All right. Let's talk about the Patriots offense going up against this jets defense here a little bit. I want to talk about the running back situation offensive line situation too. But the first thing I want to do is talk some scheme and Belichick said it on Wednesday. This is a Seattle style cover three system that the New York Jets are running. Robert Saleh basically taking the defense he ran in San Francisco, bringing it to the east coast and dropping it in the metal ads, right? It's the same exact system that they've seen in Seattle over the years with San Francisco over the years. And a lot of other teams that have tried to emulate this Seattle three defense. Now, the problem that I see for the jets is one of the reasons why the legion of boom was able to execute such a simple system was because they were the legion of boom, right? They had Richard Sherman, they had Earl Thomas, they had camp Chancellor. They had real playmakers in the back end. This is not a complex system. This is not a confusing Brian Flores type of defense. You pretty much know what you're going to get. And they really count on great execution and great continuity in the back end to be able to put all of the pieces together. This jets team is not there yet, right? They have a lot of holes in this secondary before they are going to be able to run the system as cleanly as it needs to be run. This is an extreme rebuild. I was talking to Nicole Yang of the Boston goal about this the other day. And we kind of almost looked at it like where the Celtics were a few years back where they were so bad that they were able to get a top whatever it was 5 pick three pick. And then still get another one the next year. You know, because they were just so the jets are so far away. They really to tear the thing down from the beginning. Even with all their high picks, they just still don't have the talent. They didn't choose to sign anybody in free agency, which was an interesting decision. Oh, I guess they did. Corey Davis is okay. Well, it's time people there's 9 people on other positions. They didn't sign a corner or saved a top safety. They didn't re sign Marcus may, who's a solid player for them in the back end, probably their best defensive back..

"The waiver wire calm for a number of weeks like enticed every week. You're like guys. Do you understand what james crowder is doing here. Especially in pr like you know but in you always have to take camp records with a camp reports with a grain of salt. I'm telling you right now. But the allies you're more like high. Trade is out of control hype. Train is out of control. Train is moving fast right now. But you're right matthew and that. I'm not saying this is what i don't think that allies more guaranteed to fall into this bucket but every year i mean almost every team. There's like ten guys per roster they're like oh my god. This player looks amazing. Right i mean how. Many players are receiving positive buzz. Right now we're talking about it again. And i'm not trying to like earlier. We were talking like nikiel. Area has been legitimately one of the most housed about players at the patriots training camp. Who knows if that will amount to anything. So i think lies more a player. I i think we all kind of agree is really potentially useful in dynasty. Don't know that he's the kind of guy that a touchdown upside you just don't see. i mean. we talked about this. Mike clay for years on the podcast nonetheless. Lot receivers with a bunch of tied inequity. Right russia and equity. Excuse you just don't see a bunch of guys that are five foot eight diminutive in size going up and winning with fades in the red zone or something like that. So i actually think. It's corey davis said. I would believe it or not because first of all like it's laughable. How we don't. He's like we've talked about five thousand times and yet we can't just like get ready to accept. It's just a good solid football player right. Like not sure. He lived the fifth overall. Pick billing when he came out but just a good solid started out with some in he. He had a bad hamstring injury as rookie year. Like what he has to health issues. Right correct so i think. Corey davis is the jets player amongst pastors that. I'm most interested in rostering. Let me ask you another question. Though one of these players blows up this year and finish his top twenty fantasy wide receiver. Which one is it. Who's most likely to be the answer to that question. I'm going to go with cory. Cory davis okay. How about you. I was gonna say i think allies more like i think it depends what you need at the end of your draft. I said allies more. Just because i think the upside is there but there's also a wide range of outcomes. If you're telling me like i need to. I need sixteen team league in our war room league. It's probably davis because who's more likely to be usable on a week to week basis. It's definitely corey davis. He's got a higher floor than i think. Allies you're more. I just think. And maybe it's a ten percent chance or fifteen percent chance. But i think it's within the range of outcomes that allies you're more has just monster year this year. I think but like. I think there's a there's a chance i just think that if you're elijah more i don't know he's a deep threat player right. I don't know that he's like ten. Or twelve touchdown guy. I think it's possible that coordinated competing with james credit who's also really good player for snaps in the slot. Yeah and i think like if. You're corey davis any i. I am excited about all the bus. I'm not diminishing. I believe that he's been as i. Just think that. If one of these guys has a thousand receiving yards and nine touchdowns or ten touchdowns league corey davis doing that. Because he's come close to doing it. In the past the touchdown thing is is very fair. By the way you mentioned denzel mims and you're talking about camp buzz. The camp buzz on danzon mims is the opposite direction easy. He's he's behind keelan coal by most reports so the jets the jets actually have like not necessarily top end de have decent depth that wide receiver..

"How many of those guys turn into immediate sparkplug fantasy assets. I have one guy off the top of my head. And i could be dead wrong. But it's like using five eight two hundred pounds likely for the record. Maurice jones drew but he was like such a he. He's built may i'm jay. Dee might have been like he always stats an md. Coming j. jd. Coming out of college was five foot seven. I believe short on five eight and he's probably thicker than from was times in person he's like. Oh he's a. he's a bowling ball player. i think he's he's more. The exception to the point is that right. I don't think you saw those two and a lineup. You'd think like that guy is built like that guy right meaning versus j. d. so i think we both agree but even though so we still had like search for maybe want right. It's it's there's also potential for work share. This is the young basically the offensive system and staff from san francisco where we as we know whether it because of injury or there because of just preference frequently were shuffled back spot so what did surprise me if kind of all these guys got a little bit of work but none of them became a weekly fantasy starter. So let's talk about the wide receivers. We'll get into it as we're going to double trouble but like trae sermon is really really talented. James connor is going to get a lot. You know again. Health is always a concern with. James is gonna get a lot of work in arizona as well so You know and and even ronald jones. By the way. I mean. I know you've got four nat and you got giovanni bernardo field but ron jones has had fantasy success on a much better team than the jessica say like if you had the opportunity to potentially draft the bucks top rusher or potentially draft the jets. Top rusher right joe. So for the jets There's really tight end of note. I would say on the jets. Unfortunately chris earned has just never happened but there are three maybe four wide receivers that are least worth mentioning by name. Corey davis assigned to three year contract with thirty seven point. Five million dollars this off season jamison crowder who had take a reduced contract to stick around with the jets who past couple of years has been heavily targeted and a pretty solid player overall. He was wide receiver. Twenty five hundred points per game basis their top of the second round pick elijah moore who was outstanding amazing last year in the first year lane kiffin as the head coach at amiss and denzel mims come a forgotten soul who average less than seven fantasy points per game last year. Second round pick out of baylor in two thousand twenty. I'll ask you the same question for the jets. I did the patriots. Is there a wide receiver that you believe out of those four most deserves to be kinda late round lottery. Ticket probably allies. You're more niagara. Because he's got the highest feeling. Well i mean here's the thing. I think corey davis has chance to be useful at gordon. Good player a good player. Who has signed a big contract and very easily could lead this team and target share. Yeah probably will. It's probably the odds on favourite to lead this team and target share so good player. Big fast again signed a big contract. They expect them to be to your point about jamison crowder. James crowd was really productive last year. Remember we were talking about them all last year like and i remember you wrote about him in the free..

"We're back focus and let's talk about the jets skill players matthew. We'll start in the running back backfield. Where the jets. I think have three players of note. Michael p reiner third round. Pick lash out of florida. Why are we. Why do we why we suddenly went dark. I love it right about the jets would just to play right now. You know spotlight so for people who did not who are not watching on the live stream it just suddenly all the lights in the podcast studio went out working with me and i felt like i kind of felt like i was at a play. I kinda wanted to say to matthew. Talk less rice smile more. Yeah nobody wants to hear me scenes. Operate their jets have three running backs. Michael p ryan third round. Pick last year. Kevin coleman veterans signed this off season to a one year deal and also michael carter fourth round. Pick this year hundred and seventh overall very very shifty. Great pass catching back out of north carolina incredibly elusive but good to any value in this backfield. I don't think so because by the way you said they have three running backs they have four. I think johnson. Johnson johnson gets some run here enough. Yeah yeah i mean. They liked him towards the end of last year. And you're getting some positive things about him and camp like like michael. Carter is getting the most buzz. Fourth round rookie out of north. Carolina played well for the tar hills last year average. Six point six yards per carry lead bs with The most rushes of twenty or more yards last year. Big playability for this guy. You know has nice pass catching ability but again. Tevin coleman familiarity with coleman. Obviously you know The forty niners staff is now coaching the jets. And so there's familiarity from their time together in san francisco. You mentioned p. ryan the rookie from last year. They like him and johnson as well so. I don't know that this offense is good enough that it's going to be in scoring position to sustain a fantasy viable running back unless that player is getting a decent amount of volume. And i'm not convinced michael. Kara gets kind of volume. You're going to need on what we expect to be fairly low scoring offense. We give me an okay. But like he's his current eight. his current. Ep isn't terrible. It's running back thirty eight. Although on other sites. I've seen him going way higher. He's going in the fourteenth round. So i don't mind him in the fourteenth round but here's where he's going field. He's going in the ronald jones james connor tear and he's going around earlier than trae sermon. I would have. They're all. I'd rather have all three of those guys more than michael carter. Yeah i don't think there's a lot of precedent and i understand that like you could probably always find that example of something happening once but five eight two hundred pounds pass catcher by trade. I know he ran. Lot ran the ball. Well at north carolina but i do believe the reason why teams were most interested in michael cardoza because of his pass catching value..

"And the buccaneers so right interesting prospect probably year at minimum away from being a guy that we're counting on fantasy but a guy that by that guy that at least based on college not scared a chuck it deep as a has a strong arm and i think he will be so. I think it's great that he'll be starting from game one. I think he will be a fantasy asset sooner rather than laser but probably not this year. If there's a positive it's that we don't think the defense is gonna be pretty good so they might be getting into some shootouts. And i think. Zack wilson will be good enough that to the extent you want to invest in any jets pass catchers or any pass part of the jets offense that he's going to be able to get the ball to those guys so we we do have to move on but i want us to real quick question just from dynasty perspective Redraft zach wilson. Are you drafted him this year. No redraft no so for dynasty. You've got all these other rookies that we're taking him around him in different situations. Zach wilson the lowest rated of that top tier of quarterback rookies even in dynasty for you or does he rank above potentially mack jones. I've ever fest infield. You've got an fine. I've got i've five. I mean. I think. I don't think anybody's going to argue with trevor lawrence justin fields and trae lands going ahead of him because trevor lawrence is trevor lawrence and the other two were potentially dynamic with their legs as well and also very potent with their arms. And i'm gonna go with mac only because like there's a chance that like mac takes the job relatively early and just i'm sorry jets. Fan fault me. For having more organizational belief in the patriots in what they've done versus what the jets have done where we've seen this story before where a quarterback looks promising and then three years later. He's waiting for the panthers. Yeah i mean exactly. I mean and also just believe also josh mcdaniels mcdaniels offense one thing that i talked about and raucous in nfl. Draft podcast. But i talked about this during the process especially when mack jones is being remembered as number number three overall and then it was like all of a it became almost like taboo. Have affinity for mac job. I'm like you don't understand. These are five amazing quarterback prospects. None of them is a complete waste of space. Like they're all incredible. Someone's going to have to go fit that these five and that's still a really good player and i still think that all five of them have a chance to be stars in the i mean right all five of the one in the first round all five one in the first fifteen pick this one of the first three picks in the nfl draft was an. Yeah we thought was a quarterback. There's a chance that five could've gone to the first eight picks will right. We're talking about like. I think the floor for mac jones probably the panthers and number eight right so things change fast in the nfl. But i think for now. I haven't fit but that's not i don't wanna make. That seem like a huge indictment of him. Yeah and also by the way like and we both said this after the job. We thought the jets did a good job. I think we're both joe. Douglas fans we think the jets are headed in the right direction. Long way to go but they are if you are a jets fan. I think you have cause for optimism agree on that. They're they're on their way. It will take some time talking about the skilled players in just a second but for a moment and daltry matthew imagine a nice vacation is their view. The largest youtube following everybody permet on pats world. We live in it. And that's a good point. We'll have that are. Let's get to the new york jets and the jets of course new quarterback this year matthew zach wilson number two overall pick gada. Byu really impressive. Final college season came on very very strong this year. It was clearly trevor lawrence one and then it became pretty clear that at least for me draft mock draft standpoint. It was going to be clearly. Zach wilson number two in a draft class that also featured justin feels and lands mack jones. So a lot of pedigree. Here for zach wilson. But i will say. I think that it became clear. That zach wilson too because of the jets not necessarily like think like had other people. There'd been another team at two right. Maybe zach wilson doesn't go to think of the forty niners had to i think trae lance gone to yep that's i think that's still out of the way that it became clear cut number two for them and this is a team that desperately needed a new quarterback of turning away. Sam darnold yes. We're your way we two years away on. Zach wilson where we at. And and i don't like i think listen. I think zack wilson. It's gonna have some growing pains. Obviously they still have some concerns. The offensive line that they tried to address that in the draft a little bit and they drafted becton last year. So like it's getting better but it's still it's still an area of concern and he's he's he's going to be a rookie but he's like as we talk about. You know field. Garoppolo matt jones or cam Justin field andy dalton. We talk about some of these quarterback camp. Like jack wilson like. He's the guy that the jets aren't even pretending like it might be might be like and having camp right totally. Is it mike. White is that the western kentucky. Mike white is also james morgan. They last year and they recently signed josh johnson. Okay veteran yeah. Xfl af afl. Yeah play for twelve different. Nfl teams including the football team. Quickly one thing you can tell you like you can say without certainty loves football. Yes he could've given this thing up ten years ago easily loves football. It's not like he's made. Bundles of cash is not one of those backup. Quarterbacks has got thirty million. The bank josh. Johnson loves football. I remember. I remember him playing in. "Hey we we believe in you for the next four years really five because he's a rookie in first round and the team has that option right so we are with you. We are you. We're not going to try to cut anything short. I also think and this is kind of mincing words a little bit especially when you talk about precedent. There is room sometimes say. We're going to set a precedent for this quarterback or this top five draft. Now that's a little bit of a dangerous slippery. Slope is going to be like two years from now. The guy who's number six pick for the jets could say well you did it for the top five but still there is room there but i want to say about this offset and these contracts stalemates. Let's not forget in two thousand sixteen. Joey bosa had this offset issue was san diego and that man didn't come in until late august now he ended up. Being an incredible player had a great season. I get that part. But we're talking about the quarterback. And i'm not trying to say he didn't have an uphill battle but we're talking about the quarterback offense is to learn. Gotta get the reps and we're talking about barbara. I know you're saying he could come back any day. Now but the flip side of that is. It doesn't happen until late. August like it did with joey. Bosa and your organization just severely hamster. It'd be a loss year at that point. Because now you have to not only is hard to evaluate zag but it's even harder to evaluate the roster that you put together what i love about what they've done with this team is they created competition it every position right they have you know four or five slot receiver. Everyone talk about co. You wanna talk about larger more. James crowded has been there. You think about the competition that they have running back you know. This is a young rosser. Maybe i believe the youngest roster in the league right now and listen they. They're going to have some growing pains and this is a far from A finished product. Joe douglas you know from the. I is news some school you know. He's come from that from that organization. He knows how to build a team. And he's doing he's building the trenches you can say you know arguably the jets might have a top fifteen offense and defense allow joe. Doug the former offense lima understand how you can have sustainable success with all those luxury pieces on the outside all those foundation pieces. Every house needs a strong base basement..

"Our first round pick. Who who who should have been a pro bowler got snubbed. Amazing amazing inside linebacker for the chicago bears. He waited. He waited and got the contract that he wanted. And yes he might have missed a week or two of training camp. And you might sit here and say well. That's just the linebacker and it's not the quarterback. It doesn't matter. Wait three weeks to help you for the next three four or five years you know. Deadline breeds action right in. You know you know that the close get the preseason. They know how important those reps are though right now. Those reps aren't important. I was there. Listen to team. Didn't have on patch. You know it was an hour and twenty minute practice. He's been there for all the ta's he's learning the playbook. I don't think he's probably working out. I think he's in town somewhere. Probably waiting for things to be finalized. But that's why you hire your agent right to do the dirty work for you because he's advising you because you can't make business decisions which are emotions and right now. He's going to have to fight for what he believes in it. That's what they believe in to. He'll he wants to die on then so bid. I have no problem with that. I don't think his teammates does do either you about the idea of veteran quarterback behind him because mike white was leading the practices and i know viewers are saying mike white. Who who. who's the quarterback. That was news to me because i don't even know my wife. Shouldn't you bring in a veteran. Shouldn't there be melissa. Slow down to break up the brakes from china. China's that's it no no. I'm just trying to channel jets fans who when they saw zach. Wilson drafted a lot of more like. We're back not bad now. Where is he where. There's no vet behind him. Well they reset the market right so not a reset their time line in in recent years away you win is not paying your rookie quarterback sam darnold timeline now did they didn't believe in san antonio the time line between the team ready to win him being ready to carry a team and pay him you know it was out of the line right. That's why lead. Jamal alums goes well. Because you're gonna have great players still be a bad team. You know. Calvin johnson khalil. Mack is examples of that right. But you know you wanna make sure that you have a supporting foundation around a young quarterback and now that they're better equipped to support a young quarterback with what they've done with the office align the run game and build something slowly. But you know there's no need to panic because understand it it's going to be guys says because whole it's a whole secondary market. The first cuts are usually veterans that team respect because they wanna give them opportunity to get get a job. I've been sampled for for probably about three months. That nick foles is on a collision course of where green again. But it won't be philadelphia. It would be what the jets and then maybe they may have to fight for it services a little bit blake. Bortles is out there. It's going to be some veteran quarterbacks. Get cut that can really pick up a system really fast. But if you're back with your backup quarterback you're going to be picking high in the draft anyway so it doesn't matter so you don't wanna rush wilson because this is about a three year window in which you wanna try and take advantage of him being on a rookie deal but you can really support in low contracts for a lot of supporting cast. They wanna get so when you have the backload his contract or pay his contract all the contracts lined up. You can have a young team that can be have a window for three or four years and by the way all this puts pressure on the head. Coach robert saleh. He was talking about this yesterday. What he thinks about. Zack wilson not being in camp. Take a listen to this from a rookie standpoint unions. Many representative can veterans. Always get off days here and there anyway so they do miss but I it is. It's it's It's something that he'll have to navigate through and And i i've got a lot of faith to you know he's a he's he's incredibly intelligent..

"Why don't you get better coaches to coach him. What i mean like so what you're telling me. The new york jets organization is at you. They don't trust your evaluation and how you evaluate talent number one or number two. You don't trust your coaches in developing talat. If you're so concerned about paying the sky the guaranteed money that he's earned that he's deserved at least the contract stipulates are should stipulating. Then i would be questioning your own decision making in drafting him. Well what they're going to tell you is we. Don't want to set a precedent and really feels to me as a lawyer write like a lawyer. The one thing. I always did when i was practicing law. I always said if we had a problem if i was on a team. If i was on organizational side. I would say if we've been doing something this way for ten twenty years. Do not change it because once we change it. Everybody's gonna ask for it. But i think you make a good point because here's the deal. This is all based on paying him if you cut him before the end of his term. He's the number two pick in the draft. What are the chances. Where's the number that they are gonna cut him. Where's the number. What are the chances that's going to happen. Where's the number three. That didn't work right. trade him. Yeah where's the way haskins at right now right. It's a good point. Check this out. Check this out. This is something that we say the jets have been doing for what ten twenty years or however long how long. Maybe it's under joe. Douglas term. We we're not sure great. The jets haven't been good for however long so so i mean it's been a minute bar it's been so you've got you've been gone for about fifteen twelve roy jones. Y'all got the jets haven't been good says bartlett. No since however long. And so. I i hear what you're saying ryan okay. We don't want to set a precedent. But what if you set a winning precedent. What have you sort of precedent that actually builds culture and that builds a winning organization. What if that was the precedent you said. We all have agents wherever you ever football asia. Tv whatever right. Y'all have agents org if you're in the business world you might be negotiating for yourself right. People say you don't want to set a precedent but but what are we here earlier. Production equals tolerance. They obviously drafted him. Second overall for a reason you might say has produced in the nfl but he produced in college. You need him and so you can. You can bend the rules a little bit. I in my in my contracts you bend the rules. Hey this is the president but hey man come on. Let's make something happen. And so there's no pressure. Zach wilson for listening at home working out. There is no pressure literally the same shoes with roquan smith..

"All pro without a doubt with first team second team and you have allies. You very tucker who was who these faith pick. 'cause he's going to be a good pro not safe in the sense that he won't be great at the bare minimum. He's going to be a good pro. So now you're out of line five You know you ain't got and more so you give you an exact another weapon along with corey. Davis man's jamison crowder is more there. Then you wouldn't go. Go and get michael carter so I'm okay that that is obvious. The plan is protect that wilson and weapons. 'cause at the end of the day just had enough hole that had too many holes to fill them all due to drought. Because you know You know if you guys up in the fifth and sixth seventh round. Those guys won't be able to fill those holes for the most part that first year could they. Yeah but that's not actually changing. That's not fair exhibition on them. So that's the obviously the goal. The plan was to get zach wilson. The pieces that he needed granted auditees guinea. No let me the right side. Line can be improved. The sentence could still be improved. You know they still could have got went and got him but overall they went off the line anyway running back so That was my my initial thoughts in the beginning of the draft. You know later on they win. It got got. They can develop that they're that they believe in The to the safety out of auburn Sherwood and safety out of go to stay are signed here They're really high on most of them. Really hounded the transition over to linebacker and they you know they really play with a hellfire that they love contact. They're able to get downhill. They can play space. So we'll see transitions happen but overall because at the end of the day is that wasn't doesn't work out and whether it's because you didn't give him a help or you didn't build around correctly or he just thinks whatever it is none of it matters if he doesn't work out so doing everything mission you works out is the goal and that's obvious that was a player so minus because we're mad a plan set out in the executed. I thought like when they made that trip to fourteen. I also thought that was a lot to give up. Then i remembered something and this is completely unrelated but the last time. They traded up The fourteenth pick wasn't two thousand seventeen and they got this cornerback from pittsburgh that seems to work out okay right right and was also in that. The third round picks chances of those guys elijah's talker can possibly be your pro bowl. Chance of find a pro bowl and third round is not high like most most of the guys that gives in the third round muslims become most become solid stars. I i look back in the past like seventeen eighteen. Nineteen most those class attack tech twinkling you. It's time to really dive into that. And see and they can turn their most. Those guys are just Outta solid but that's about it. There's not that many pro bowlers. That's come out at around in recent memory Like less than like five less than five per class. That i you know randy my research so you know once i felt like yeah. This is a good. I is going. Get a live birth talker and we're talking with d. Vienna may from the new york daily news so we saw them. We saw the jets in the early parts of free agency. They signed corey. Davis on carl lawson so then let me see that second wave of and even third wave a free agent after the draft in those months before training camp. What do you see the jets doing in these like six weeks before training camp starts probably getting a veteran quarterback. I think that that's a possibility. They're very high on The room right now. with Mike white and Cut who the guy is. But they're very high on my father for not knowing exactly the names going New very won't do is talk about that like offseason but they also did bring hoyer For a visit. So i think they will add a quarterback. I a lot people have talked about. Will the jets at a corner and my my thoughts is a shouldn't if agency 'cause like sherman was on the back nine and so contender. None are they not gonna come here. i don't think i've seen a lot of names of nelson so even though the solid player Twenty eight. he know he saw it. You know but he's not he's not a he's not a pro bowl type player so my my thought is why not. Just let the guys that you have in a cornerback room right now. Continue to develop and trying to capitalize on that. Liz you're bringing in a stopgap guy is only gonna start the growth of The guys you already have winters. Bryce harper lamar jackson or often of bless austin or the guy that you just drafted whether it's Jason out of michael carr the second. So just you know our brand of kentucky so those are my initial thought whereas like you can develop the guy. 'cause you don't have to win this year. There's no pressure on him to win for especially perspective and i think Narrative ron is a has to win so why not use that time to continue to belt which already have in house. So those are two things. I've been broach. People have talked about. But that's not. They try to adequate a quarter quarter veteran quarterback zacks development and we got somebody to lean on and then also You know people have talked about getting a cornerback. But i'm just like. I don't know about stephen nellis in the short on. No about already. Serving to bring back brian. Poole they're not be smooth combined pulled already been here when you've been well. He hasn't been in this be new system but he's already been here but we've kind of been a while so i don't think they'll bring him back but i will they have right now and developing young guys So let's let's talk about this. We say they don't need to necessarily win right now. I i saw your article after the schedule. Dropped on wednesday. And you you're very early. Prediction is six and eleven. Which i think a lot of fans would be would be very happy with given what we've seen the last few years in the at the end of the todd bowles era and got engaged sarah. So seeing at least some optimism in comp- competitive team six and eleven. I think a lot of fans would be able to stomach that of course of course You know yeah absolutely Some the bigger bigger games this year. I'm more into how they look towards the end of the year. Because i've i've talked about from other. Shows is the dolphins in twenty nineteen saw over seven and they finished five eleven. They basically went five and four lot. The last few games last nine games and he looked better than to carry that momentum into the following season when they went ten and six the giants thing thing with them off really slow last year and he finished six and ten they were right there in the fight for a playoff spot. Granted you know a little bit fluky in a sense of you know you had a team under five hundred. Make the playoffs. With the fact they were still competitive able to get in there and even got some big win when they beat seattle And they were competitive. Heavily buccaneers on monday night so for me as long as they are competitive throughout the year. And they're in close games in there. Fighting always could end. I'm good with that. You know i could see easy six and ten possibly seven eleven possibly seven and on the of schedule you play last night scenes and you can check out momentum and possibly steal a couple of game that you're not supposed to you quote quote unquote win so I'm gonna move that. They've made This new environment so.

"The ESPN app ensues from channel 88 against us by the hang out with us they had thanks to show a pencil performance line. Because of consciously obligated. We're going to keep giving you updates on Patriots versus Jets and the Jets as we have a lead. The old and a jets actually have a 10 7 league, overdoing the Patriots Joe Flacco, throwing a 35 yard touchdown pass the 50 yard touchdown pass going to give the Jets that lead. With that throw in Fitzsimmons. He has now passed Joe Montana on the all time with for most yards thrown in the career. He's not 40,600. He has now passed Joe Montana. Another job passing another Joe, where once in the Hall of Fame and the other one, So I'm going to get there with the ticket. Is something wrong with that, right? When there were now has more yards passing then Joe Montana for his career. I'm actually now engaged in this awful game. Just coming into it. Did not give a bleep the first time. I don't remember the last time I didn't wager on a Monday night football game. Just have something down on it. No, not on these two awful teams not wanted no part of it. Zero zilch, Nada. And now The Patriots losing to the lowly Jets. This actually has me somewhat. Attali Ste. Interested and not for nothing. If you're the New York Jets, they had 1/4 down and three in pages territory. By the way, cold. As I said, it's on toward a part of the Dr Pepper Twitter feed. Coleman, ESPN Indian fits ESPN, saying the Jets and Adam Gaze would point ofthe fourth and three in the opponent's territory. Hashtag kicky is for losers thinking the same thing going your for your own age. What have you got to lose another game plus territory? You know, manageable fourth down and Yeah, let's just go ahead and bring in the funding crew that makes that makes a hell of a lot of sense but again. If you imagine tomorrow if the Jets can buy some football miracle at the Meadowlands. Hang on to this game. The Patriot would be one win better then the Jets Let's let the grassy Knolls the conspiracy theorists all of a sudden jump up, man. Is Belichick tanking for right? I mean, is he looking to try and get to Trevor or Justin Fields or a tray? Lance we had We've all forgotten about the quarterback in North Dakota State who is projected to be a top 10 pick. Shift the lever for Trevor that you tell me if they lose the busted for Justin to the Jets. Man. I'm open to all conspiracy theories. Sure. Why not? I mean, what have you got The losing 2020. Nothing is off the table regarding anything. Anybody thought process Whatever you want to say whatever you like to hear, But we will keep enough data on this game right now. 8 15 to play in the second quarter New York Jets, as have a 10 7 lead their own eight pages of two and five. That game right now, Monday night football on ESPN and also the ESPN APP. He's in Fitzsimmons of Freddie Coleman always appreciate you joining us on Friday, and Fitz Simmons on ESPN Radio. ESPN advances on Channel 80. Don't forget the phone number 888729. 3776. Our brother seems, although this at your big takeaway from the NFL this weekend was what What? The future. The quarterback position is just remarkably bright. When you look at that match up yesterday, and I know it's only Game two for two of, but he looked like Alabama to a healthy Alabama tool. Before the ankle before the hip. Hey, look, sensational Calamari. Just absolutely mesmerizing. You're going down the list. Man of Josh Allen, Joey Burrow. Justin Harbor. Two rookies, along with two of Lamar Jackson had a big bounce back. You know, Patrick? Oh, yeah. Patrick Mahomes, A young quarterback really is keep forgetting that this is his third year in the league plays a starter in the NFL, and he's my M V p just right now. Okay, Now we're into that conversation completing 67% of his passes. 25 touchdowns, one interception out of one. I mean, it's insane, but those are names off the top of my head. That are within Three years or younger as starting quarterbacks in this league, and they all had remarkable remarkable Sundays and then get a couple of old guys that just looked old. Now Philip Rivers and Tom Brady in large part Tom Brady because his o line stunk Rivers. That tackle alone, man or a day attempt to tackle whatever the heck that was dance move more than a tackle. That was absolutely brutal, but the young guys Man. The future is bright when it comes to quarterback play in the NFL salad by you. As a matter of fact, I'm going to get into to a versus kind of a little bit later here on Friday, and if its segments with the infant Simpson Freddy Coleman, my three big takeaways are real quick. Number one, these three told hate is to shut it down, at least for a week. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson 20 people saying this and that saying that saying this and the Baltimore Ravens I thought got caught up in in the first half against Indianapolis Colts, then the second and they looked at each other, said. What does he do? Well, somebody melted some paint in that locker, right? Okay. We got this guy, Lamar Jackson. What does he do? Well, okay, then why is he not doing it? Why we not allowing him to do that, And in the second half, they went up tempo. He's hitting receivers. He's running the ball. He's putting that offense on his back like he did last year and long behold, they were from again that could potentially lose on the road to running away and hiding in the second half, not just trusting the defense to do it all by themselves. That's number one. Number two to go back to your saints, not just destroying the Buccaneers, but you know there was sick and tired of hearing about Tampa Bay. They got that. Look, Tom Brady's playing Well, They got Antonio Brown best balanced team in the NFC and they got the underwear being offered by the Saints. It got so bad that 31 to nothing was the half time score. I wanted watching law and order as you read runs on Yusa USA Network. Watch that almost fits. Lulu lives with cottage here. Ah! A house on she actually came in. Tap the door half time going. You know what's great about tonight was that I get to go to bed early of 31 Zip right. She was done. And that's her beloved's man. I mean, that is her squad. She lives breathes. Eats, sleeps everything. She will die with a breeze union. I mean, I'm telling you, she's out of her mind, right? That's what he played Bed bed time. That was the most complete half of football I've seen all year by any team in the NFL. I tell you what, not so much In terms of complete, there's a complete destruction. The state's Let it be. No. Hey, this is still our division. Tom Brady. You just got here. We've been here for a minute. If you're going to win this division if you're going to win the NFC, Yes, right, Brah, You got to come through us. You try to twice so far this year and both times you lost by double digit. I think the same just scored again to make it 45 to 3 against Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They let it be known. Hey, you just got to this division how great you are, but we're still the kings of the NFC South. They told all those haters and all those naysayers to shut it down and be quiet and another one. You know, the bills are tired about hearing the Seahawks were coming in the house and beat them. Wait a minute. You're saying Russell Wilson as terrific as you've been, but that leaky defense lack of running game They're going to come into our building and beat us. I will say this. The Buffalo in they played with an attitude versus Seattle that have been missing the four weeks before playing. That football team is that they found themselves and said, You know what? We know what we can do..

"We are going to discuss the situation in Libya so a few weeks ago, we had written about the one thousand Russian mercenaries that had arrived in country there, <hes> and the presence. Presence of unmarked MiG fighters, so I wanted to have <hes> Tony. Maybe you can set the stage for us. It's a very complicated battlespace that is emerging there with alliances that are very fluid, and what is really become a showcase or a testbed <hes> for a war of the future. So why don't you set up the security situation for us? And then we'll dig in and and talk about how the aircraft there are being used. Vive <unk> semis up. Pretty Fatty. That Jen. This harks back to the Arab spring, and the and the impact of that event across the Middle East and North Africa and also the fall of Colonel Gadhafi, and since then we've had this. On and off civil war, but now sort of developed into essentially two major sides who got the Libyan national? Army controlled by lethal halftime who made significant gains from his base in Benghazi sweeping across the country, and then we have the government of National Accord, which is a U N backed government which which? Controls Tripoli for a long time. Half ta basic swept across, took control of most of the oilfields on a much control of Libya, but then in recent months we've seen a resurgence of the genie's power, mainly, because it's backed by Turkish took a lot of effort into this campaign, and they've been fighting back, and we've seen sort of the GNA taking control of fields and towns across the area so particularly in the western half of the country the Libyan National Army Khalifa's army. <hes> has the backing of countries like the United. I M, Ritz Egypt and of course strain Russia, so it was sort of seeing this strange <hes> war. Complicated woman different sides. Some countries are undecided about which side to take. Which side is going to win. It's caught up in cobweb of mercenary groups and. Now introducing high levels of technology we're seeing. UAV's being used these Russian aircraft advance, Ground Base, defense systems, and also mercenary troops, being used in different ways and being bought in from different parts of of the Middle East to come and fight there. It's just it's become a little bit like Syria, but not quite the haphazard situation that has developed the. Brandon. Where is the US in this equation? A good question. It's <hes>. The the best answer right now is that it's complicated. <hes> ostensibly the US does support the GNA because that is the internationally recognized UN backed. Government but <HES>. It's important to remember that <hes> general huff. Tar is a creature of the United States in a sense <hes>. He did spend eighteen years here in northern Virginia <hes>. It said that he was working with the federal government for most of that time, if not all of that time and improving their understanding of <hes> events in North Africa during the latter years of the Gadhafi regime. So you know there have been a formal discussions between president. President, trump and half tar. They've actually spoken to one another <hes> there has there has been some limited <hes> at least diplomatic cooperation, but the US has stopped short of <hes> endorsing the as legitimate governments over the DNA <HES> so one more way Tony kind of had alluded to it a to it already one more way in which this is at all levels diplomatic, military, strategic, a very very fluid, dynamic, strange, complicated <hes> situation. That's unfolding there in Libya. Let's talk a little bit about the MiGs. We started to see satellite imagery of Russian aircraft landing on an airbase Dan. Can you bring us up to speed and give some detail about how they arrived in what happened to them after they came in? Yeah, so this is a the great. The great mystery of the conflict right now so in mid May <hes> satellite imagery showed that a MiG twenty nine had appeared at L. Giuffra. Airbase in central Libya and anyone that has access to the Internet can quickly find out. That Libya doesn't have MiG twenty nine fulcrum. So, where did this come from <hes> remarkably? Remarkably there had been some which essentially called rent a rumor intelligence, and the previous day's out MiG twenty nine, transiting from Russia to Syria, and then they just of stopped, and then a couple of days later. Oh, there it is! There's the MiG twenty nine in Libya and so people have been trying to piece I back, you know. Where did these come from? Who supplied them? And eventually on Africans in the US confirmed that they were rushing that they came from Russia, they flew through Iran and Syria and onwards syllabi. They went it. Was You know they say fourteen MiG twenty nine s you twenty fours. The mixture that is up for debate. There's been at least six <unk> twenty nine seen in Syria at the same time there was allegedly transiting. Their markings are painted over so these. Are you know I'm I'm going to be the first one to steal fray. Sorry guys the. Little Green jets. I got there first. So these. Are you know? Plausible deniability, whose are they really you know the most likely operated by Russians <hes> some people say that they're Belarusian. But they're almost certainly not. Unless secret training program kicks a long time to train foale. Gen fighter. These are not pilots in there. Almost certainly not Arab pilots in general. They were meant to tip the balance, but we haven't really seen them in action much so far. So what have you seen with them? Since and I understand, there are also some issue twenty fours in the region. Yeah so <hes> Brennan and I were talking about this. There's only been one confirmed action. They were used <hes> they hit a GNA convoy. Just recently that was transiting. Run the Oil Crescent, but mostly they seem to be kind of flying over top of their their bases, and they're just being held in reserve, almost a most satellite imagery of a Alqadi. That has the twenty fours in shelters. They haven't left. They arrived. They went into the shelters and everytime. Imagery passes over there, so they're not seeing not gone flying mission they just it was like a morale boost, and then they've stopped because I'm assuming losing one of the so soon into the conflict would probably be a PR move than when they arrived.
