"I personally think that. If i had written this obviously it did not i would have had a anna can actually kill padma directly as opposed to Her dying of sadness and broken heart Which is i. Don't know if george thought you know this is for kids so we're not gonna go that dark. I'm not sure what what happened. But that's i think what i would have preferred but at the end of the day i mean i don't buy What the story was trying to tell us which is the fact. That pal patine is supposed to be this great manipulator That we see actually more in the two prequels But in this one he's obviously evil like the entire movie anikin just buys it. He's just this doofus. I've been training with the my whole life. But i'm going to believe there's one creepy dude telling me like what's up jack. No no finish your sentence. But i actually how a theory about this but qb going okay. Cool because i want to hear because there's a whole scene in the opera house you know where he gives them the story of dr plays etc. But he's it's a dude antic and he's obviously telling you he's like and he doesn't find that out until way later and all of a sudden in five minutes he does the turn of going from i am i am a jeddah et cetera are want to be a jedi but the jet council is making me a jeddah which so i hate them now and i'm going to go kill some children and then strangle my wife so i think that's bizarre so i do think that's bizarre as well. I do think it would have been better narrative if you would either had an can kill pad may or more appropriately have anna thinking killed pad may have dark city as the evil person which we don't care about being evil kill him. I agree with you. I don't understand that point. However i do understand how that character was able to sort of bamboozle anna anakan because he was literally the only person through the entire story who really accepted in from the git remember. They rejected him. They were not going to let him train until quite gone by like he was always something that they were like. We sure about this one. And i think that always anikin is a secure is an insecure boy with a lot of talent and i think we all have met those boys they bluster but they're also the ones no not you mark. You have talent and you're not that dude and have you are..

"Things that i'm really thankful for in twenty twenty is how big of a role friendship has played in this year for me. As i've said you know my friendship with the jet council really solidified in deep into this year. But i've also been very grateful to make new friends as well in here with me. Now is one of my new friends. That i've made this year johnson narrow. John thank you so much for coming back on the show and sharing with us your positive moments from this year. I'm really thankful that you invite mijas. So john tell me what do you think flying twenty twenty. So the big thing that kicked off my year so back in january. I was lucky enough to squeeze in a trip to disney world with my family the At some background on me while figuring out my parents love to go to disney. And so i was very lucky child hang out to go on vacations to disneyworld them. Other people made you road trips around around the nation. i kinda. We always just hopped on a plane from wisconsin down to florida and we would always have lots on there so every year that we would go on even though Me and my sister will get older and older. It would always ramos back to back to my childhood in. And i always felt like a child whenever i was going there so being able to squeeze that in an inexperienced some of the things that i wanted to At disneyworld with my family to watch them are or more more for them to watching egypt's nerd out about stuff especially galaxy's edge. That is there. And i remember my my mom and dad would just look at me because i was just like smiling. Every time i walked in there was looking around just having fun and and yet even better was i. Was there on my birthday. So every kid's dream is to go to disneyworld on their birthday. I got to go as an adult was. We got to go through the cantina there as well I will say the drinks were not my my family's choice most of the time. They are not favorites but they wanted to experience. It went me and have some fun. And so i got the check that off my list and we also even got to go on the resistance on my birthday which he's right there so overall that disney trip it really. It really started my ear off berry good and it gave me all the memories to tip to have to have those fun moments so when when martorell around and things went oil downward i still had some fun memories with my family. That's awesome to galaxy's edge than this year was your first trip to galaxies for not yes corrupt. The aso i I obviously i read all about it. I was getting excited until my parents about this. Like on. gosh. We're gonna have to go. At one point. There was some debating on. Could i afford to go. What will always kind of up with that. And then i decided no. I have to go like if my one. I was like if my parents went that. I would never hear the end of from them missing out so but also i was. I was like okay. I'm going to make this work. I'm gonna make my budget. Work could be able to go to worked out. That is amazing. In talking to joann. Last minute i ended up cutting a lot of it out but he you know waxed poetic for a really long time while i just got to sit in. Listen i love hearing people talk about galaxy side. I haven't been yet. I'm really looking forward to going the eventually when i can look at like. Twenty two is when that's going to be so you've mentioned rise of the resistance. I am still holding out for you to sit down and do her even if you just record it and sent to me. And then i'll wait until after. I got on rise of the resistance where you can just geek out about. How great of a right that is. I told you this already. But i'll tell everybody else's well you try to go in spoiler free because it is experience by itself and its own mini star wars movie so yet. We'll we'll get you on there. I just worry perfect. I am definitely definitely looking forward to it. So then the next big thing was when the pandemic kind of hit it was sad that i conceal my friends. But what i realize is. I made so many friends throughout my star wars fandom through twenty nineteen being at celebration and stuff it really got my foot in the door of these big fandom groups so with the land podcast groups. I was able to keep in touch with people drew as at. I think we all knew that we were zooming our family and friends but i started actually zooming some of my star wars ride set. Maybe i met at a bar at celebration or or at some fan meet up and in that that became a lot of fun where suddenly new we all had something in common and we just click like kind of like family again and like you mentioned where you mean. That jess was forced us. Now was it was so much fun meeting with other fans. That i didn't have i was helping people out. I do a lot of video and audio conferencing. So i thought well i bounce here for this. This is this is my alley is why get aid to do so. Finally felt like. I could help out with fandom so i was very thankful that at the whole team kind of trusted me throwing me in last minute on things just because they they knew they knew i could handle it so i was happy to help out in that i met many people by jazz. You're you're the one that i i kept in touch with the most of all those other podcasters are joining. And we've had justice just within the last few months we've had that a lot of fun just talking random star wars and other and other disney stuff to jess me that i had to watch a latin though we we spun up that disney on watch party or whatever it's called and we just went and talked about it all die and she she knew what was coming and i'm i'm messaging her like what is going on. This is great. it's insomnia overall jazz. I am really thankful. I met you and many other friends and we've kept in touch with i come jillian i bonded. We sent beer to each other yet. Some stars ears is stunted so good wisconsin beers some traded back and forth. So yeah. it's been there've been so many other groups out there that i've been in touch with and and it's just great having great having some hardcore star wars friends who were at the same level as i am i. I love my love. My friends i met through the years but but mandate there's something different where they they're just appeasing knee. I feel sometimes everything for that but having having You guys help me out with being able to just say some random referencing you guys all know exactly what i'm talking and so overall like yeah. Yeah we didn't have celebration this year but it paid off with being able to. I'm truly thankful for. I agree force fast as a big point for me this year. That really. I was just talking with richard concerned about that. Really kind of changed the trajectory of my life in such an amazing way that i think i'm still going to see the ripple effects from that year's down down the road but yet one of the big things was you know in that friendship like for me to you. Are the one person that i've really on. A fairly consistent basis have stayed connected to but. Yeah i when we watched. Aladdin was just really happy. That i just got to sit there and be right because that is my favorite of the live action movies and so it was just nice. Yes thank you for acknowledging that it was yes. They.

"The Evil Ego leader cares not at all how the community is affected and if he blames and punishes its own people for anything that goes not according to his own self. Determined Plan. In the Lord of the Rings for example, on the good side, you had the fellowship of the ring, a group of Wise Warrior servants. With the task of safely destroying the evil ring, which by the way were constantly warned gives ego centric power to whoever wears it. and. On the evil side, you have one massive evil eye on the Sky Sour. On the greatest ego evil ever known for only cease complete and total control over middle earth and all the beings in it. That's all it wants control of everything. Even in Star Wars on the rebel side the good side you have both the rebel council and the Jet Council. Both of which are made up of all variety of human and alien races races in also male and female characters. Decisions are generally intended to be made with input from everyone in both councils all though both make mistakes despite being made up of beings aware of their deeper connection to all life. They are nonetheless fallible creatures after all. Still on the dark side, you only always have one being ruling over everyone and Star Wars. We first meet Emperor Palpitation who is Darth vader's even more ruthless boss and just an all round jerk in unlovable dude with massive powers fuck you up if you cross him Perhaps the whole idea of giving one man so much power is more and more an outdated idea. The United States was actually conceived to have really a council of three. The president being just one member of that three the other members being Congress, which actually comprises hundreds of people. In. The Supreme Court which is currently a council of nine. You can see how though in our current iteration as the most powerful elements of Congress have been aligning with the president no matter how egregious his leadership failures and even the Supreme Court is at ongoing risk of being stacked in alignment with the president. That the original conception of our founding fathers. that. We'd be governed by a council of at least three is being eroded before our very eyes and top that the free press long considered the fourth branch of government and that it offers a fourth perspective on how on how and whether the government is serving the people. as our elected leaders have been successfully waging war on the free press by redefining it or undermining it as fake press when it holds them.

"A Tanno is put on tribal council and must face the. Senate and it can what did I. Say Ron, you said a superego. It's really. Okay. So Hard Asuka Asuka. Asuka Tanno! So anikin searches for a way to prove her innocence by finding the real killer. Okay okay so I. Don't have much to say about it because I didn't watch unfortunately I. Really You. If you had told me last night, Oh, you watch the wrong one I would have been like fuck you I'm not doing it again like. Put in the time I get it so if anyone wants to explain. She got kicked out of the Jedi Council, but then they like. Invite her back with some beads, but then she was like. And I was like okay. So, where's she going to go? But then I don't know where she go. So this is what this is hard about tried like. During the clone wars in this huge expanse, because a Soka isn't supported by the jet, the like really fallible organization, and so she's not supported by the I am basically loses all trust or connection with them outside of an akin and so that last scene between her and Mannequin where she tells him, she's leaving after being invited back. Is like heartbreaking in that way because Anna can also spend almost the entirety of the clone wars like building to the point where he. Loses everything in the last one, and it's just I just got real sad after watching. Nicole! What did you feel you I wasn't like. I was just like. This episode I watched last night, and then I had to like. Keep pausing it because I kept looking at my phone, and then going back, and then being wait way, and then the man who lives with me kept trying to explain what was happening and then I was like. This I don't. Like the last part three part episode like at Three Episode Arco. It did so like I was missing so much information yes. Yup. I I. Why does the Jet Council handout like Friendship Bracelets? Like? Why did he needs I think that's her version of the patio on braid. What's apparently raid that braid that OBI WAN has? Had that little rat tail braid that they have I didn't realize that was the thing I thought it was an aesthetic. Choice me, too. Oh, I send you this very bizarre youtube video from the filming of the first of the prequels where George Lucas is watching you and McGregor haircut. And get and. It's so straightforward wants him to have that or something or like. Yeah, they're talking about it, but he's like standing in the back like Lucas, and just like watching while you and McGregor gets his hair dye, grandma Ollie, the wildest thing. This doesn't make anybody do things right? That's like when A. Trailer to be like they want you onset and you go all right. Be there in two, and then they stand there and like Oh. Move Faster. Now! Want to watch that or Oh boy, that's so fucking weird. That's really funny. Did George Lucas have any? LIKE SEGA MS, or like heavyweight in it yes, Day, felony, who created the series is very. Kind of he and George Lucas like sort of a partnership. He's kind of the heir apparent to the storytelling in the TV unions. And so Jesus Lucas was involved I think in the major storytelling points, and it is by Lucasfilm or whatever his company. Because it's prior to the acquisition from Disney Oak Sue, is it? Yes it's dizzy. Yes, I. Watch Disney, plus what now now they have it, but before it was just this film they bought them. I wonder Lucas does day. Today Oh my God. I can't imagine, but didn't he? Do some really good stuff like donating a lot of money to like schools or something feel like I might be making it up, but I felt he unless there was some story where it was like. Oh, he did some good stuff with money that he was when he got bought by Disney. That would be nice to have a whole bunch of money to do nice things. You know when you believe there are billionaires who just don't give away money like Lazic. Jeff basis becoming a trillionaire. Past the threshold. That's sick. You should be illegal. But I'm like there should be captain. How much you make if you don't pay your workers a livable wage and he doesn't pay taxes. It's way up, that's. What as zero dollars in federal taxes over the last five years. Makes no sense to me like I don't understand how that's possible. I feel like no matter how much I read about this I. Don't get why it's like legal, so we also Amazon's UNIROYAL. Shady fucking thing I went to like grocery. Direct DOT, com 'cause I was trying to find this. Ginger honey syrup to make penicillin cocktails and I originally bought on Amazon, and then I was like you know what I'm going to try so hard not to use Amazon so I found grocery director. Whatever the fuck it's called, and then it came to me, and it said Amazon. I was like. By Sites From Amazon. They do eight seat nefarious I. WanNa stop using it entirely, but it's so hard it's hard is. Part of our lives like. I. Mean we did it? We didn't have it before so I guess I can go back to somehow not well. It's hard because they like I. Don't buy books from them I. That was like my line I'm like I will not purchase things. But they have their hands and everything bears thurbers you can't. Was It kickstarter like Indie Gogo I think even when you were like trying to donate money you had to donate through. Amazon, because they owned like the space or something and part of your donation. We'd go to them and you're. Crazy I have like I connect my Amazon to a charity. You know. He Amazon Smile. And then like I feel day, order so much stuff up there and then they're like you've You've donated two dollars. Charity I'm like. What are you giving from? This person has like. God Anyway shall we jump to the finale Jump to season seven episode, old friends not forgotten a Soka con con I was GonNa, say tax, I don't know how to say any word. On fantasy. Tax. I don't know what I'm talking about. So Contacts Anna Ken and Obi Wan, who must decide if they will help her pursue mall on or. So this woman I didn't like her. This character Miranda Hobbes. Jon. I can't believe that Miranda from six the cities here and then we had a great big laugh. Had He seen it. No but the man who lives with me. He had seen it. Also, does he remain anonymous? Yeah. I feel like mysterious. No I like it I just thought when you said the man who, before I thought you meant John so now I understand. There's your roommate millhauser, and then there's the man who lives with you. Yeah my roommate, John Millhauser Jamila has a my roommate and then the man. Cap Cap saying. L. The man who lives yes. Yes, title! So Maul Darth Maul. He's the man who wears who drives scooter, right? In episode two. Oh. No, he he well, he dies Oh yeah he. Said Y., yeah, he becomes like he's sort of sort of. Yes, you are. You're kind of curl coat. Yes, so he dies in the first one. Yes, so we this and then survives. Oh No! We so. After. He dies in survives. Yes, so he died in the first in episode one which I know joked about the prequel earlier I do actually genuinely really love the story of the People's, but he dies in the first one because we want to like cut to Manhattan. Falls Oh to the actually survives..

Some of the copy innate eastward or something does show that you know like a year ago they were told to refer to the Venezuelan. Opposition is freedom fighters but they've just totally given up on this one. They just they were. They did one go. And it was the dumbest man of the country's saying I'm president and didn't work out and they're like all right foget yeah. They're really a lot like they're like. How reluctant husbands getting dragged to couples therapy every like four months and just not saying anything in stewing. It's never joined with the opposition and the government quickly quashed the uprising. I mean this is straight out of the State Department. Cia handbook where it's like. Then the people will join. The people will rise up. This is another really great detail here. It says a few weeks later. Some soldiers and politicians involved in the failed rebellion retreated to the J W Marriott bogus. Aw I love that part of words. Yvonne Song Jesus Christ fucking love that part said lawyers guns and room service. I love all burkes that they sent him in as well are in a Colombian jungle right now. Dying Rona virus food or water have been probably threatened to the and the guys who planned it. They're just like well retreat into conference room at the Mariot. We're our SELENA the window. Richard Right now. I wonder why with these guys pull their moves. The people don't join them. I mean they're so there's they they emit such a sense that you could be trusted that they're not GonNa let you hanging in the first sign of trouble. And did you hear about guys like this earlier? Early earlier the Dues the guys who were in Columbia. The burks who were like yeah. They were supposed to pay our rent in like didn't all right. Thank you get out of there a to see death squads going on rent strike for the death squad. It's perfect twenty-first-century current at because it's like like the intelligence community or like. They were competent the brutal way. They could do these. It's so terrifying. Like what they can do with mass information and Just the communications abilities. We Now It's terrifying idea. Would they? Could you just toppling governments but what it actually is? It actually emirs everything. That's bad about. Now everything is sort of shoddily. It's it's the cool equivalent of like a cloud restaurant or drop shipping scams. Yeah but the thing is sometimes. It'll work if they push against the rotten enough door if they're going against the regime that hasn't successfully built popular legitimacy actually work Bolivia but it's still it's still very shoddy and at very depressingly. Oh fish and that's what makes it even more depressing. What it actually succeeds. It says here for this occasion conference rooms were reserved for what one participant described as these star wars summit of Anti Madero goof-balls military deserters accused drug trafficking shady financiers former Madera officials seeking redemption. Okay this though. I like that esthetic detail because is we remembered from are reviewing of the prequels. A lot of those sets did look like shitty hotels like they had flame retardant carpets and yeah it just looks like Schick Awful sconces jet council room did look like the you know the the conference room they reserved the J W Marriott at Columbia totally. They're really putting me in. The scene is whatever? It's just like vaguely Sifi. There's like continental breakfast stale bagels. I get a bad coffee there. Want US always their background like a cigarette. Smoking a cigarette smoking man. Well I mean really I would say are Wanna now is Guano. Ou the same character because guate- JATO is. He's the greatest camera of all time to get into the scan that the the dude. Oh my God the the fleece that this guy just the fucking conduct. This guy just ran is legendary. Sorry Yeah No. So now we get into. I think the hero of this story and it says here among those angling and the open lobby again of the mariot in bogus. Aw was Jordan Gujral. An American citizen in three time Bronze Star recipient from bravery in Iraq and Afghanistan where he served as a medic in the US Army Special Forces according to five people who met with former soldier those he interacted with the US in Columbia described him in interviews alternately as a freedom loving patriot a mercenary and a gifted warrior scarred by battle and in and in way over. Who is this poet that they start description the AP the AP really surprise you? Sometimes it's wonderful This former creep raise a five star pimp positive but I get the negative but like the third one it just sounds like a like a character description for like a pitch you know. Reading is half. The articles written for magazines and newspapers are basically veiled pitches to be netflix series. And we're all going to read this against this for the purposes of this listener co-host imagine that we are all on cocaine together in Los Angeles time talking talking. Well I'm yes spinning rapidly at you. You're you're netflixing you're gonNA give me three hundred million dollars this okay so we're talking about. We're talking about a freedom loving patriot. He's a mercenary but he's also gifted warrior scarred by that'll in way over his head elevator. Pitch here's the copy for you with this on the auto play trailer for that too for resources colleagues at said that. Gujral was always at the top of his class. A cell leader with superb intellect handling sources. An amazing shot and the devoted mixed martial arts fighter. Who still cut his hair. Hi How about that for a character? That's maybe that's money in the bank. Yes Chris Fine Chris. Pratt Chris Chris. Christie ended there any to work. They would do it too. They would just throw money at at us because they because they over it. Networks are also on cocaine. Oh big time. That is the house to cocaine built. Were you aware that you drove? It was a devoted mixed martial arts fighter. I was I was. I mean that makes sense though. I mean like mixed martial are there's this thing called I'm not GonNa go into whole thing's what Army combat as is. But it's like it's what the what the army calls there. Ma It is funny that they call it different thing so Kroft Magai. It's such. It's such a six year old like you just have a main. You're like actually it's called him out of if it's different because it's for the army tactical version. Yeah but I don't know he probably get signed to the UC there've been worrying troops assuming well they would have these events every year that were called. Ufc fight for the troops that were held at a military base and they were awesome because they were. I think it was because the fighters like God show for the troops and they would just. It was the most violent outcomes you'd ever seen whereas who could have predicted who could have predicted the troops who get their favorite day. Which is like a bald billionaire from Las Vegas coming out there and being like you guys are fucking fighters all right matt. Are you ready for this detail? Hell yes it's going to. It's going to activate your gland. I guarantee you at the end of it. Otherwise distinguished military career. The Canadian Board Goo Dro was investigated in two. Okay stop right there. I know you think founder enemies really got Pete Bond around us. He's french-canadian he's a scenario as you pull out of fucking James Elroy. French Canadians the most powerful race. Oh you can't get where powerful it's a French. Redneck is the most powerful syncretic force in the West. You've sinker ties. Like 'cause like people are less man splits off into like to fracture like versions of each other like a shadow figures and they're the redneck and the soy based creature. Ed The fucking Quebec is the body of both simultaneously. It's the fully embody mustard man. And he's that's the two most powerful all pulse like like the French guy is the most alpha. The guys yes is because they're the most developed soy guys. 'cause rich guy started being before anyone else. The French Scottish got the French started getting Sawyer. Seventeen eighty-nine they had a head start on everybody so they're the most soy so they're the most advanced the most confident and the most powerful Alpha Soy people and West American and North American rednecks are like the most powerful like troglodyte. Dick like non non soy people. It's a fusion that is like it's Damascus steel. It could cut through anything there. Extra firm Tofu yes. They're the greatest. Look my experience with French. They've literally changed online gaming because there are so racist that she's reporting mechanisms in every platform. Right it's like the more details from this guy's life story are incredible. Honestly we should right and pitch fucking like Netflix. Show about this guy like a movie. About this guy's life it would be like it would be a version of Americans diversion of American sniper that we've always wanted to see list above the Chris Kyle guys was fucking psychotic lawyer. Yes the funniest character of all time because he was an actual navy seal lied about being an ABC. The that isn't the very best seller. It's like a bank robber. Who writes checks got at the end of an otherwise distinguished military career goodrich was investigated in two thousand thirteen for allegedly defrauding the army of sixty two thousand dollars in housing stipends. Yes what wait a minute. What's he like? Was He secretly living in a lucky or something? What was God at the J? W Marion says after retiring in two thousand sixteen. "Creation. This light of thought curious they go just like Ma supply of course as if PAO doesn't give up his power he should be removed from office. And how are they going to remove him? They're gonNA stop bowel into his office. We've lightsabres in the name of the Galactic. Said it said it would is you are under arrest? It's treason say by removing him. Properly would have been arrested him or if there was any scuffle scuffle worse but the idea like you said that these peacekeepers guardians of the Galaxy. These spiritualists were actually plotting. Basically sign if he doesn't even come. We will stay a coup and actually. Oh no we'll just have to take over the Senate for the time being we'll have we'll have to have complete government governments and rule over everything and they would have. They may have quite enjoyed having that and I might have hold onto that power for big like POW status and I mean you say you know to adopt places may take us but they were absolutely contemplating it mice and Monday with a two and there's a few other ones but those two They were wrong schemers. Nice Windy Man. He's Dotty Attie. He was a dodgy. Boy then let's let's make this clear again. People the jet. I have good intentions and the important thing to remember here is the you know it doesn't it doesn't undermine China's the teachings of the jet. Yeah the the scene empire strikes by quite. Yoda is teaching. Luke marvelous things you know the loop lands from the view of the US me and you listener yet. You can tyke stuff that you mentioned in that scene in PA strikes back and apply that to life and he's good advice. It's not it's not like you know you can't live every day. In every scenario by base gets good advice writes good stuff. And that's the issue is maybe in that era in that period. You're looking at just the good stuff you're looking at the romanticized part of it because went once the Djeddai starts getting involved in all this political stuff. All this political Biz these this war. We're not even mention the war yet and the arrogance that went into that but once I get that faces involved in that stuff. They caught out themselves. Because of course she conquers. You DON'T BE NEUTRAL. You are taking one side. Of course you're GonNa side with the Republic. Of course you're going to think you are the rightful protectors of the republic and if necessary you should intervene blah blah blah blah. Yeah of caution can think that things are Jada though are thought but most people now think of the jet? Iras backflip backflip. He'd like sabre-wielding and I fold taken down. Heroes when in fact legit out back then obey to spread violence or anything like that down the middle they. They just belong to their own order. You expect you expect Luke skywalker to walk out with a laser sold and tight down the whole first order exactly and how that was was the Jet Way. There was no violence and nobody got hurt. Nobody was harmed in the filming production of Luke's for protection but just just even about the war. He said he called neutral in a war. If you're if you're selling one side you know if you are aligned with one side. You've picked Your Salad. You call then try and backtrack and try and take the moral high ground. We have got the high ground. You can't do it. And the main you mentioned the war right back in the phantom menace croissant own tattooing. They go to pick up the chosen one. Which is the prophecy. The JEDI which again Mayo. Minor up in a good idea to have that or to believe in that but they they found this chosen one and then. I see the Djeddai while Your Romley. The council all fully so the issue about this because it has a big. It's a big thing to say. I stood at never warm to the idea on the way back as we now call. I've gone jumped by DOFF. Mall they have they wicked Joel on tattooing. He goes back to the council and he goes back and immediately reports by the way he was fighting the technique and the weapon was this was in eighth at immediately limited voice clip. Look how long it takes. Monday decided impossible. He was trained in. My only conclusion can be that it was impossible. The set had been extinct for a millennia. Do not believe the sift could return without us. Knowing hard to see the dock sidings we will use all our resources to unravel this mystery. We will discover the identity of your attack on. May the force be with you to catch it. Lychee within cuagone as you finish breathing. His sentence and Kia Mondays jumped in impossible. If the city were turned we would have known about it and and mice has nothing to do with whatever turned about us knowing we would have known about it. That's impossible you're there to fight him. You know we would have seen this coming. It's that Short. Saw It view that this the only stick in wouldn't feel inwardly and popes in the season? And the jade. I don't know the jet I do cook I in that line willing to believe you know. Actually the jet council called feel it then it must not be true and to before we before I pass it over district say look said this is we love to Jeddah. Isn't that passion session with the dead? I Star Wars Senate. We see both sides of it. Oh Yeah we wanted to put out that statement from Luke so the the good guys and the good guys and I have their flaws in wages to basically say you know the biggest floor. They their biggest flaws. Look what look what came off the empire. Yeah Yep precisely you know and and you know we win looking I history or a bit of the the is poisoned. That isn't right. That is corrupt. And these blinded yes so and that's not to say the whole council cancels out loud the whole other history of Gel which is why I'm really excited for the high republic stuff because I think that will be a more pure in a more real What I'm looking for representation representation of the Jedi of what the jet. I should be just as much as that. Luke was figuring that out Luke skywalker in the loss. Shadow was figuring out. You know. We've just. We've just mentioned the fact that you know. He's not going to just come out and kill everyone. Yeah that's no. That's not what the is and this. This takes me to like I literally thought where in the Star Wars Universe. It must be. They got it must be bigger. Because Raisin the chosen one reason Anikin was given to the jet oil given to to to get. The universe was to balance everything out the jet. I lost their way. So what happens? The chosen one is given to them and basically starts everything from from new riot so at the end of revenge. The say if you go to bad guys because fought for that time vote for details of. Tom Now has to be that evil. The half Veda the has to be power pertained. Sadly 'cause install was the univers- Gouge go turn people on that side and suddenly you have twins born now throughout the prequels you. You don't pay them. They they took off a bye b. yet. I'm talking about twins. This is a galaxy. Far Far Away people you think they have scans to tell you. Go twins coast not for not for a renowned Senator Roy so so magically an shockingly. Nowhere twins yet balance Lia- LUKE VIDA POW pertain. You got you got the two people. And that's that is the force are I feel? It's an interpretation to four slight overcast restoring itself for my sign right. This is the claim slight and move on from there but what Luke was given into. What what Luke Skywalker was getting was the you don't have to chop down a load of foes or become. Let's go whatever to be Djeddai to be a good a you can change the whole galaxy outcome of the whole galaxy without hurting a fly is why Luke skywalker in the last Jedi. Especially the last third of the lost at I is a tremendous tremendous depiction of what the jet I should always Bain I absolutely agree and a lot of that was picked up as well from you mentioned about iota and the empire strikes back. That's almost YODA completing his aqua. Most because in the prequel trilogy he was just as much to blame. He was just as blind. Didn't is just as good as city sets arrogance

"Right so one thing. I WANNA full disclaimer. I didn't we posted the topic out there and a lot of people had already chimed in. I just didn't have time to port. It all over into the to the episode. Oh if you WANNA reference at Brett I can send you. The link might have to reference it so we talked about what we want to talk about. Guy On dischord and mentioned. Hey you know making count. Don't make encounters about combat. You know what's your thought about that? And we talked about this a little bit last time we talked about what's coming next and the idea is with designing counter writing an account or thinking of something isn't counter oftentimes. At least for those less you play the Andy. We think encounter. We think swords fighting Smash Smash Kill Blood. You know and I don't know we put a lot of time into designing those encounters and I'm honestly haven't had a chance to check the The CHECK THE FORUM. Stuff Sean. So I apologize There's some pieces in there. Please let let's. Let's jump over there but might might take on. This is if you want to have good non-combat encounters if you spend just gonNa make up a number. If you spend ten minutes plotting a really cool goblin. Fight encounter spanning the same ten minutes to plot out the The verbal encounter the. Hey this is what's going to happen when we talked to when they talk to the king or this is what will happen when they talk to the space king or whatever that whatever happens be hey the encounter the genetic council. These are some points that will be made so on so forth you. How were you gonNA organizing that in getting yourself together if you will so you can? Effectively run. That encounter is just as important as in Sean Thriller Example With Undiminished Tours and mazes and fifteen different things happening at once. Social counters anything. It's not combat related. Quite frankly can be fairly complex in. You shouldn't assume they just gonNA blow by that stuff if you really WanNa make it meaty and have some feel to it. So Sean. Do we have something cool from the stuff that we should be talking about that. I knew that had commented and elaborated quite a bit in the forms. Essential Lincoln Google. Thank you I know. Joe Mentioned Swick. He sits up there. No matter what encounter. I WANNA give my players as they travel. I always make the players roll. A D twenty makes them think that something good or bad could be happening when really either way it could be both depending on how the conversation between the PC's and the NPC's they meet for example. They were traveling on the road. Roll the ten on at the twenty. They encountered two guys with a long pole and skinned animals hanging from it. They passed by each other and ended up buying meats from them. They encountered degenerate one of my favorite couple of lines recently which she says eight. Nbc Hey you WanNa buy anything gestures. At the beats PC. How much for that poll? All I don't want the Food Elim it Buehler's ord through an out there as well when I bill counters that may have particular slant towards Ballard non-battle But players will always have a way swishing it around fifty percent of the time twin bill any encounter. I don't presume too much. I really never know which way the players will go in my group so I just build encounters indirect the consequences or rewards from their. Who's a damn good point quite frankly because you could say hey? This is going to be cool. They're gonNA beat the Jet Council. This'll be great and that one player decides to go. I am a shadow Lord. Daddy attacked Yoda. You like really really. That's what you do So craziness getting sue. Given point all right. Who's up next in their aerosols will said I believe the straightforward answer is yes. You should have multiple types of encounters that allow the party to exercise their array of skills. Each archetype is going to excel in various areas. It is also important to know what your players want. Maybe they want more investigative slash roleplaying or perhaps they just WanNa see how high they can pile up or corpses. It can also be fun to give the fighter types of technical challenge where a big hit bonus and lots of. Dmg isn't useful. This could be on per excuse me this could be on purpose or a happy accident. A more recent session. Iran was interesting because they left the smarter character outside to protect their transport while they sent the to tufts in two in an abandoned fuel depot to see if they could get the fuel transfer system backup to feel their spaceship interesting. Yeah whoops so there's a cool theme theme going here and then go in saying that because Laremy wall comes in with. I agree. Don't make combat encounters don't make non-combat counters make situations and see what happens. Which of course Eric says this is wisdom. Yes allow for different success Pez. The characters sneak around the yogurt. Give them a chance if they want to offer the Haflinger or bard a snack or payment for passage. Co there goes so. I think this is really cool because this adds back into my earlier comments you want to put some time in the stuff and if you look at I think it helps to even set my. My initial comment may be a little bit too to the side to a point. Is that look? If you're making incumbent county I really want this thing to be a ski me. A big social event put some time and thought into it as we just heard be prepared for it to devolve into a combat Just as much as you should quite frankly flip that script and say be prepared for this combat to quote devolve into a social encounter if you think about it in the old school days people would I remember reading camera breadbox or a couple other sex sessions of jamming advice or player by sit say hey players are fleeing there. Would the game masters the authors? Excuse me of these books were off of what it might be. Good idea to throw money behind deceive. You could stop the monster. This monster is foolish. If you drop food they might stop for it right. I distinctly remember playing as a kid being chased by trolls. Were running in the dams like Eric. Rdm's all your they're catching the longer legged. Oh my God. They're coming up on you and somebody at Camera Jason. When the guys go do we have any food. Yeah we throw all of our food and through air for Lupis okay. The trolls were just hungry. Anyway they stop. It starts scarfing up all your iron rations and your your wine and you guys escape. Thank God this is a second level. GonNa ask handed his best back as extras right so that it went from a competent counter to a think on your feet how do I avoid to combat and counter right just as much as those times when the players go to talk to the? Npc's the MP something a little Sassy and when the players cut his head off and the next thing you know you're in brawl with guards. Tempa thing so I really like all that feedback on the counter I think does is. It puts a finer point on my earlier statement. Is that whatever type of time? You're spending don't focus on just one piece so I'm one and my earlier comment. I think this is A. He's don't focus on only combat. Don't focus on only this other thing because I think what that does reuse a game master. Is it locks your brain in. This is how the solved John. Well yes I agree. And I think what Gay Massar should do. And I think a lot do whether they do it purposely or inadvertently is create problems for the player characters and then allow them to come up with the solutions. So if we start stop Kinda stop ourselves and say Oh this is definitely going to be combat encounter unless there say written dialogue of ambush or wandering monster or whatever swooping to fucking is coming down to kill you write. This monster is going to kill you right. Yeah that's a combat encounter you. Could you could definitely etched in stone. A game master. You can force combat right. These goblins will fight to the death. These rates will not leave the room. But you're the dead or not to talk right then this you know whatever but oftentimes. I think the players have to end. The party has to engage with different individuals to to obtain knowledge. Whether that's Cauca through they gotta go to the library or the to seek a third party. That has knowledge of X. OR Y. And the Party doesn't that's going to be in counter that's the way we need to look at it. So how do you position that encounter? What are the motivations of the person you know the NPC? And what are the motivations of the player characters and then how do you negotiate those in some games? It's very easy you as a gay master adjudicated like the Osaka Right. You'RE NOT GONNA do a lot of Gimme diplomacy check or whatever. It's libraries role. Although I could argue that the original through this very oh sorry but anyway but it's going to be a matter of does the argument that they or the approach that.

"The physical component is similar to luke training with iota lots of park cooler and climbing acrobatics and backflips mental focus entails moving objects precisely with the force while under duress. Think of Luke doing handstands while Yoda stand on his foot and he stacking rocks finally combat is just at the battle with alive. Lightsaber Robert Against Enemies. Either on the field of war or against specially program joy or holographic enemies real world experience such as the loss eliminated dual or a scar from battle or taking part in actual combat. If if you got your arm chopped off during a battle and survived you would be seen to have passed the trial of the flesh. The trial trial the spirit in which Japan would be tempted or confronted by the dark side. Urges was similar to what Luke faced in the cave evil and the trial of insight involved using the force I to solve puzzles and see through our unlocked deeper hidden truths the trial of the flesh is what I go through. Every time I look at Obi Wan I we do know that the trials were malleable and changed according to the needs of the order at a given time during the clone wars. When even Pat Owens were given the rank of commander and participated in battles across the galaxy? The trials were essentially abandoned instead the council. Would we just decided to graduate a puddle on when it was deemed that they had proven themselves in some way for example the council simply decided that focus false charge for bombing the temple and the trial that it followed constituted in itself her quote great trial which she passed and of course. "Hours. That was cool. I got a really. The Sky. Worker was basically terrible enough. I was like atmosphere like our podcast. This is probably a very frustrating. podcast listen if you enjoyed this. I can't imagine people who like us. Who would listen to this and think? Oh they're just going to be love. Rise up skywalker. Come on come on like like Like I said I think it was better than the last Jedi Taryn things. It was worse than less but we both think five out of ten four out of ten movie like it's not a good movie. Yeah come on. I do want to reiterate like if you like it then you liked it. I wish that I could have like Damore and all the nitpicky stuff again. That's not why I didn't like it. That's just fun to do on a podcast. Yeah so like if you're like it. Hey No you're wrong. There was a reason that this happened. And therefore you're wrong about your opinion and you should like the movie you were right in the first part of that. And you're you're very lost the plot in the second half of that because the nit-picky reasons are not why I didn't like the movie there just again little fun things to point out along the way and so. They just jump all over the timeline like a definitive like it happens in this order. Order timeline that you can go to watch the episode. There's actually the blind wave on youtube have actually been watching recapping star wars the clone wars. And they've been watching coaching in the order that it like in any order that the timeline goes in because again clone horses it jumps in like from this battle from this year this battle from this year here then jumps back to the third battle from this year. Like you never know where you are on the timeline. It's just like it's a little Jari sometimes but you know everybody's alive like Yoda's alive and it comes alive like that's all you know. Yeah some some really cool stuff in terms of like filling out some of the gaps of clone wars and making and ah for me I think really making Aniston's turn work even better yeah. It really doesn't work that well. In revenge it worked in revenge of this it. It works great in regard to watching everything that happened in clone wars. Because there's some dark moments for an account and the clone wars like and you see like there's even like youtube videos of these raw them dark dark moments with Anikin and you see you see where like the little sees where honestly Obi Wan should be afraid like. You should see this in front of him and be afraid afraid but he doesn't do anything about it. It's frustrating and also like the faults of the jet. I think to really talk about those a lot especially in season six and and like how like he even in rebels where he talks about like he fell victim to the dark side of the forest. Like Yoda admits that he was afraid. and that's very touching gene for me to hear on the go master. Yoda was afraid and Ezra asks him he's like you're not you're afraid he's like yes. I was afraid it was like so cool. It's like you're or somebody who has granted master. Yoda admit that he was afraid. And then he fell victim to the dark side of the forest. That that I mean not in the way the vader did but in the in the way that the dark side influenced his path in the choices that he made the choices that they made is the grand master of the Jet Council. I really like all right. Then thank you. Thank you for joining us. Let us know what you thought. aww This podcast and I'm trying to go to your twitter timeline. It was certainly one of the more controversial tweets I think ever made the you always know. It's controversial the ratio of comments to likes. Yeah and also the people who I also follow and followed by. Who responded to your? We've like Mary and the BB President and Lovie and I'm on and Jake round from sequester. And like Oh like all these people came out of the woodwork to respond to your frigging tweet. I really feel strongly. "Oh then stuffed toys like they're coming out every Disney needs a cute cute side character a dozen talk. That's every piece off phil that's an most immigrants. I'm on I'm it's all the fucking robots its altitude. It's that's why every number lost it had those little. We'd mini teddy bear things things that were penguin fucked. Yeah that's right. So that's always going to be the whole series. Tired lack the diehard dedicated the ones that go every comecon ever. This is the show they'd been joining all they're finally getting it. What are your thoughts? the The little miniature. I mean it's not it's not well actually. We don't know that it's not a copy because it's harsh this is off the jet is isn't it is. It is often but I mean they're. They're learning a lot of theories out there haven't haven't read haven't been reading into it or anything but there a lot of fucking theories out there. I had read much but what I assume is one thing I do is that stall was always very. I'm serious about your does rice. We're getting much about his race. We know those like one other member of his rice in think episode blind the Jet Council and I think those female iota and like a comic or something or a cartoon or something but very mysterious man. And I feel like this is where they're going to affect they're gonNA dive into Atlanta. Ron and I think what's going to happen is just going to say. Yoda's rice has always amazed before is why they're always Geniza and Shit autoclave chlorine thing. Maybe but I think at the end of the day the function of this character one. It's to be cute and sell toys into into it's obviously today like our law expansion but the main thing wise is this is a very common like tile west. Someone's on the Ron and they're trying to protect somebody. It's very action trope. It's Logan it sits on all of us it's hell it's probably go to avoid. cervone played a few hours of it so far and loving it but like and it's also like a lot of nineties action films. I feel in these early early two thousands of swamp. So it's very. It's very much like that. But it's up to the show or the riders. Which direction guys are they going to go into? I think the obvious path is all he realizes. This thing. This year to creature is too important to be in the hands of the imperials and so he's going to go on the run from the fucking and he's trying to protect her and get one hundred minutes per implanted or some Shit Asari Imperial Galactic bad guys. Whatever the ultra gar artfully doesn't guy? I'm happy the way that's the story like this. The imperial has like the Empire Collapse. Like that's happening. The second desktops Barnow. I'm David mentioned in the first episode. The empires collapsed. Like he's dealing with here is the is the remnants insult that actually I guess the first order could always be on the rise or some shit talk to his another thing too so the top man. It's kind of like a love a love. How many questions there are still? Because it's like why are the other bounty hunters in the guilds Sent to kill this thing and the mandatory is only is the only one sentence sorry sent to cable to live like you know. It's Kinda like discretionary it's like you know we'd prefer to be alive but yeah it can be dead if you'd like whereas all the other bounty on his alike. Well no we're GONNA wait. We were told to kill this thing. So I like I like that kind of mysterious element of it and his one of the theories over the only theory that I read and I'm not GonNa take credit for it I read it on Japan. This is kind of interesting because if you look at the release schedule for the mandatory episodes it coincides with the release of Raza Skywalker. Episodes seven seven drops. Rut Sorry episode. Seven of the mandate laurean drops Rut before Rosca will and then the final episode man. laurean APU premieres authoress coca. So it's kind of like. Is there a cloning thing going on like is this is this Yoda. Is there a cloning thing going on. And is this kind of tie in to the resurrection or rather cloning of the emperor has he is not turning attending character that we didn't really expect to say back. Here's what I will say that's fucking stupid is fucking hate it but I honestly think all the groundwork is that could be true but I really hope it isn't because I hate the idea of killing for character chlorine to bring him back. I really really really am harping. The empowerment is just communicating on pretty. Well I doubt is a false guys. That's all I think. I think you might be right and I don't like that like I. I'm sure you've got some amazing explanation. And why why. He's still around. But I really grit my teeth when I hear people talking about jet I and these like overly complex scenarios. Here's 'cause style was not saw. Its Not Jigsaw. It's not saw where they're gonNA have. These crazy twists that type. Five hundred turns the twist our was has this. Is You kill my father father okay. Dumb like it's something really quick. It's not half I I'd cloned myself three thousand years ago and then I put it into a data file that was sent to your mother who is actually uncles dad who then raised it as a child and and with all these extra steps like that would be so so on Star Wars. I feel and I think what I agree saying. I don't think they're gonNA make complex dumb it down pretty well. That's that's the thing that they do especially the new ones. They always dumb shit down and then they let the expand universe beat extra nerdy with if they want as long as it's like a weed as as long as I keep it simple aren't.

One wasn't doable for a long time so a waited until we had the technology to do it still that means long before we get to Jet Council meetings we get noteboo counts no meetings and rough what are we talking about at least there is conflict between the stated goal of the principals and the ultimate yes state of things it's right there in the title of the Franchise War and yet says I will not condone a course of action that will lead US toward is what we're going there anyway old billy though the politics are gateway to that larger story is quite on says when he's trying to convince Queen Dollar really at this point her Decoy Saba to go with them to curse address the Senate says there's something else behind all this your highness serious the Sieff the battle between the dark and the light the battle for balance let's end the force and it's also powerful despite jar- jars how rude interruptions in a moment when pad may and schmear interacting during the sandstorm on Tadijine and Padma stunned to discover that slavery still exists in the Galaxy because the republic's anti-slavery laws are meant to prevent it and Schmidt says the Republic doesn't exist out here we must survive on our own whether it is an entire or mystical galaxy or one town in our own actual world that right there is the one primary functions of telling story to reveal our biases to challenge us to think about how our perspective shapes our lives how we think about other people's lives star wars were so many beings are united by their belief in one thing the force is no different they still all all have their different perspectives on Khorasani we begin to see how the role of politics and the film is a conduit for teens path he is going to use the deadlock in the Senate to vault himself as the one strong leader who can cut through the bullshit and get stuff done in order to become the emperor of the empire he needs to gain control the Senate so that he can eventually turn the entire Galaxy twos while everything happening on around a boo is really the opening gambit in his rise to power he plays the greater good card chancellor velour I'm not in control any there are financial interests the trade federation interests that have turned this once fine house of politics into basically a rigged game they need to force the election of a stronger leader soon who can exercise control cut through the red tape and seek justice he manipulates her because she is a ruler desperate to save her people and she doesn't have time to have the Senate send a fact finding mission to Naboodah figure out what's gone she knows what's going on and senator popping uses that urgency to get what he wants he's the devil on her shoulder literally voice right there in her ear right there in the pod with her in front of the Senate a surprise to be sure but welcome one he says he's nominated to be the chancellor and what a ham incredible performance as he says by the way while wearing a plush velvet throat me an amazing absolutely crushing it Jason yes there was no father carried this podcast I gave birth raised yeah sure sure I believe what happened hey sure I guess I have to buy it the joys do I have maybe you can explain I'm GonNa try please gather the young ones having the battle on learners I had to the Jedi temple that's right teach us everything we need to know about midday glorious those horny bastards good that you get in the middle of the country talking about McLaren's in two thousand nine show runners Damon Lindelof as his hit television show lost was nearing its end told the live on at the now defunct Los Angeles Comic Book Shop Meltdown What Answers he felt his story should and should not answer quote there are certain questions about the show that I'm very Donald Bhai like what is the island or what do the numbers mean we're GonNa be explaining a little more about the numbers may be significantly more about the numbers but what do you mean by what the numbers mean what is a potential answer to that question I feel like you have to be very careful about entering into midday chlorine territory I grew up on Star Wars I've seen the star wars movies thousands of times I can recite them chapter and verse and never once did anyone ever say to me or did it occur to me to say what is the force exactly this essentially is the philosophical distinction between two taxonomy of science fiction hard Scifi and sought Saifi and it's through this lens that we're going to try to examine McLaren's but I what are they just as quite Gone Jin explained to young and can skywalker midday chlorine are sentient microscopic life forms which reside inside the of all living things in a symbiotic relationship with their host organism medical are connected to the energy field which binds all things together commonly known as force when made it coins are present in significant enough numbers they allow their host to perceive and interact with and harness the force this means that any host in animals as long as they're count is high enough Ken be at least according to previous Canon for sensitive for instance we have the Foreign Skar a native to the forest ended of Mercker was a Jaguar like Nocturnal Predator that use the force to locate its prey it found four sensitive beings jet is included hard to resist list and very tasty divorces prime quiry the Mary was like a furry tree dwelling Iguana also for sensitive the e Saleh Mary evolved a novel defense against their hunters the ability to surround themselves with an area within which the force could not be used the more e Saleh Mari in area the larger the Anti Force bubble and this made the forest of Merck are popular hideout for smugglers pirates now other lactic scum looking to evade Jeddah entangled let's and it can count as we heard according to the blood tests run by Obi one is more than twenty thousand McLaren's per cell which we again quick learn is the highest ever record surpassing even that of Master Yoda leading quite gone to believe that is dry savior destined to bring balance to the force he's all the blood tests immediately we deserve the right to know what they are all that said there's actually no one to one relationship between the amount of chlorine wants bloodstream at least above a certain level that would make one for sensitive and the strength of that person's force abilities consider ob one more than a match for Anikin when the two duked it out on the volcanic planet and Mustafa in revenge the Seth pappy highground though the he had highground this shrew but before that even palpable exerted significant control over his apprentice Anikin despite any this high medical Orient Count Anna darth became if anything more powerful than ever despite being violently dismembered because he did not have the high ground in that aforementioned dual thus having less body parts and therefore clearly less medical reasons so medications are an explanation for force sensitivity works but considering what we just talked about how much does that explanation actually matter and why's an explanation necessary Now here's where the question of hard Scifi for Soft Sifi comes in simply put hard science fiction described stories which have a basis in real science and real math oft sci-fi on the other hand is often more philosophical tending to lean on broader sociological anthropological and political themes examples. hard sci fi would be she's you can lose three body problem trilogy Andy Weir's the Martian shouts to the potatoes on Mars and Ted Chiang's various stories excavation by it now it's excellent soft sci fi stories include Orson Scott Card's enders Game Frank Herbert's Dune and of course the original star wars trilogy we can think of glory and then as a hard science fiction element in a film series characterized by pointed lack of such details in fairness though if you say that explanations in this medium were luxuries getting into how gravity works on the death star by the atmosphere and a star cruisers hangar bay doesn't shoot out into space and how blasters were now it's possible to travel at faster than light speeds of just bogged down the pacing stuff simply worked the original trilogy depicted the force as essentially magic and when it's ascribed it's a near Miss stickle religious terms in episode four one tells Luke that the forces quote an energy field created by all living.

"Ridiculous. I I know I didn't care for WADA's voice either. Even though I make the time but super not then. But now if you look back on it it is and it bugged me then to you might as well have gold rings on. But for me there. There isn't much. There isn't much qualms. That's pretty much it for me. My whole thing was in in all break make this brief because I know we're already running a little long here. But the I know we all like this movie. And so once this is mainly for you. This is mainly for a lot of people that I've talked to in the past that hate these films. There's a lot of people who don't think there should be here. And here's why I think that they're mischaracterized as bad additions to the Star Wars foam. Because one of the main themes to me throughout the original trilogy is the importance of friends and family. That's like that the court is among the whole thing is his friends and his family come I write his dad's Darth Vader. Does he give up on? No. Because it's his dad. And it also this this movie also brought us the jet code, which is also what anikin defies and Luke defies. But it's isolation verse companionship. So like anytime anyone in Star Wars is quote, unquote, isolated something goes wrong. They don't rely on friends, whatever it is Luke leaves his uncle they get killed like. And can lose his family heating and palpitations. Whole thing is to isolate him from the jet council and tell him the things he thinks he needs to hear to turn him. And instead of going to this information to the council or OB one. He just takes it in his isolated and ends up turning. On the other side of that. The jet council who say there aren't emotion you can have a motion. You can't feel things are wrong as well. It's how you use the emotion. The only reason OBI one is able to defeat Darth maul is because he uses his emotion for good. The only reason Luke Skywalker can defeat Darth Vader is when he uses his emotion for good to defeat. Defeat him. Yeah. And that gets compounded with quite gone. Because a lot of quite gones Fossa advice is trust your feelings. And that's the thing. If you buy the code, you'll know the way, and that's it's a flaw in the council that quite on sees that. Oh, we want still hasn't understand until the very end. And it's it's I mean, even OBI wan and Yoda to-, Luke to not go and don't use your motions, and that kind of thing, and he just like, no I'm going to. And that's what made Luke so powerful is that he could use these emotions but do something his dad couldn't which is not given to them. Yeah. So use them as a shield instead. And I think this movie does a really good job at telling the importance of of family. So like you have you have jar jar. Let's start with him. He was he was kicked out of the Dunkin cities, but he creates this new family with quite gone and can his he ends up being a general in the gun in army winning saving the day. All that kind of stuff because he believed in companionship, you have. Obi one and quite gone. Who are like the pit of me a pin me of how to work with a friend on something. They disagree on quite a lot. But the way they talked to each other isn't like, no, you're wrong. Yeah. In fact, a lot of quite onset is like I understand what you're saying. I feel this way. And I think we have to do this. And I think it's important and a lot of time. Okay. All right. I did that. Right. And it can find his new the important with Anna can thing is he's a slave him and his mama slaves. But what do they have each other each other? And it keeps them happy. And it keeps them like he's not a sad kid. Yeah. He actually likes fixing things. Yes. See through his mom for me. This movie does a lot to really hit home and set the groundwork since it is the first one of the themes of the entire Star Wars lies for the the want. Right. And like it it it for me disillusioned, I was super disillusioned with Jeddah. And I was like, oh, they're always right there. The good guys. And this movie was the one where I was like. We say like and some of those teams plan to the new from. Yeah. And like and it played out in in fucking like OBI one even has the line only sits sits deal. So it's like, right. It's just handed to you on a silver platter? Like, nobody's right and pretty much. The theme of Star Wars is like friends and family. Are we really have? So like let's rely on those and we can save the day going back to like deep. That's that's my defensive of this film and the rest of the the prequels going back to like George Lucas like wanting to combine all these cultures of like space, and westerns and Japanese samurais and stuff like that is like a samurai co there's master apprentice. And you know, you, you know, give you honor to your show again and all that stuff, but it is inner turmoil of duty as well as doing which rights. Yeah. Yeah. And I think Josh, you know, mentors L a lot when we talk about nerd on specifically, and this is a little bit like to your point quarry of like not for us kind of like, everyone that listens at home. It's like, we're. Not. We don't subscribe to bullies. We don't subscribe to 'gate-keeping. We're welcomers we open the British for everything. And since this film is kind of like the the the one that's marred in the most amount of controversy. And it's kinda like, you know, the people who there's actors who contemplated suicide people who've destroyed their social me is because of the things that happened in the Star Wars, fandom course points, you can love the thing that you love or you can hate the thing that you hate. But you know, the people are people at the end of the day. Yep. So anyway that was my in defensive the Phantom Menace.

"He didn't laugh. He didn't make a face nothing. It just came and went. It was breezy and. I know that he didn't hear it. So it's like it's not even really on him and it's not if it's on him anyway, because it's a guest. She's not. She's not employed at collider, and I think people want me to have this grandstand take, but ultimately my honest reaction was made me laugh. I thought it was funny and I'm just choosing not to care about this because I want to stop caring about things like this in general, but I laughed. I'm sorry. That's just that's just my take on it. So say what you want to, I guess I don't know how much you wanna say, but. Well, I think, yeah. This was brought to my attention. I it anytime somebody fr one of our listeners, whatever says something to me and says, hey, we check this out a want your taker, your opinion on this. And if I watched something and I legitimately have a taker, an opinion on it, then I'll give it one way or another either to them on the show or I'm sorry either to them on social media because I don't feel like it warrants discussion which, again, this is not a commentary. You bring it on the show. I would address it there with them or if I thought it was something worth discussing long form, I would bring it to this podcast more people can hear it. I checked it out. I watched it. I laughed at it like I would laugh at anything else. I hear on any comedians podcast that I listen to. I think too many people right now are overtly sensitive about certain things, especially things that they don't necessarily need to be overtly sensitive about. I get the argument and the presentation that this whole thing was brought to our tension with. I'm not even going to go over it because it just doesn't fucking add up. And I guess the thing that I'm hesitant about moving forward with anybody that wants to present something like this to me, at least I can't speak for you, but anybody that wants to bring something like this, you know to my tension and if you try to present this with a lot of people are having an issue, I will one hundred percent hold a microscope to your argument and say, no, not a lot of people are saying this. It may seem like it, but most people in the world don't actually give a flying fuck about. So relax. It's fine. Go to sleep. EDS neck. Maybe don't wake up for a while until Kathleen Kennedy's fired, and then we can all hang out and be friends. What do you do with the double standard debate though? Because I don't think if not a double standard, like if a man made a comment about a woman and said, the equivalent of foreskin face a bout a woman, I think I think it would be even louder though, and I think that I think that honestly just comes down to the fact that like with with men like when when men exchange insults and things like that, like mental call me bald and you can call another main fat. And it's like those kind of exchanges happen more naturally than when you cross the barrier of insulting the other sex. So it's like maybe it's because it's about a man. Maybe it's easier for me to choose not to get fended. Whereas if a man comments on a woman's appearance, it's different. Kind of story, but when it comes down to it, man, like I think I think in general, more people in the entire world need to have more empathy in terms of choosing how they say things in general. I have no problem with that, but there's also an air of the fact that I don't have any fucking context of these two individuals might have with one another runner. Plenty of we talked we, we've talked before about our frustration with Jeff Snider in the past right people could either choose to acknowledge that frustration or not acknowledge it and then move on, but guess what we celebrate him now because one people are a redeem -able and be and obviously I don't want people to snapshot this conversation and throw out these outlandish things. Are you going to give a pass to people who are you know, sexual predators? We're not fucking talking about that. We're talking about somebody. Calling somebody else in name who I have no contact. I like Adam driver. I think he's a great actor, right? Like I don't know the interaction that they had, but it's it's just it's a, it's a non issue. I think this point people are just looking to be outraged. I think that's that's totally good. This is show that examines the phantom of collider. So that's why we're we're wrestling with this idea. And yeah. That that's, that's all all we got. So let's let's continue on this path a little bit though. Here's something that okay. Okay. Do you remember two weeks ago we had? I don't remember what we had like the two hour episode two weeks ago. And you jokingly asked me on on the podcast of all the things we talked about. You jokingly asked me on air. Do you think we will get any response with this show from people employed at collider, basically answering all of the questions that we put out there and I jokingly responded with no, absolutely. Not. That happened like nobody said a word. I can't remember exactly what we talked about on that to our show. So here's what I'm doing right now. I'm going to address I'm addressing every single in collider employees right now. If you're listening to this and employed by collider addressing you directly right now, I need clarification. What is the language policy at collider video when it comes to cursing, please, please. Please let me know what it is. Me a direct DM whatever you gotta do. Give collider afterthought some insights on the language policy. All I got when it came to when it came to hosting the show, no sexism and know racism, that's clear. But when you have an episode of heroes were snip slips and says, the f. word wants, and then apologizes. And then talks about how Roca is afraid for his job because he let snap because there might be some. There might be some playfulness to that. I get it. Everybody slips up, but then snap said the f. word again. And he's looking off camera and Roca's upset about it again and it's as if they shouldn't have done it to begin with yet today on movie, talk when Rawson Marshall Thurber came on. He asked if he could curse, he was allowed to curves and Ellis also did that cliche that cliche thing Rawson asked, are we coast on here and the Ellis response? Fuck. Yeah. In the most cliche way possible actually love that either because it makes you angry. In fact, I do it now just because it makes her angry pleased out. It's so no, I'm going to continue. It's like how every time on social media you comment about people commenting to you about the weather, everybody in the comments. Just s you about the weather because you're. Asking for it? Well, I mean, feel free to be a part of that lowest common denominator of conversation talking about the weather that's on you. I guess I'm just not going to engage, but I don't know. I just have you ever picked up on the inconsistency. I know Djeddai council has been particular and this this makes sense to me because apparently Jedi counsel. John council has an interesting audience. It feels like it's Jenna council of all the shows feels like it's the one show that like a lot of people are only subscribe to collider video for. Because it's also I believe, Star Wars news net hosts every single episode on their website. So a lot of a lot of outside people come to collider video just to watch jet council, and I think it has the youngest audience of all of the shows and I could have clarification on that. So they wanted to make that more family oriented. But it's like you have Ashcroft's in talking about being drunk on today, show which I don't mind at all. I don't mind at all about any of this stuff. I've just asking for the clarification so that I understand the inconsistencies also forced could face. I enjoy enjoy thing about us Ashcroft and see what's your your devilish hung ashes bay does ashes Bank. So I I, I mean, if I'm just sort of surveying the landscape here, I think sort of anything goes on podcasts. I think that's pretty apparent considering how openly they were discussing things on the podcast exclusive jet council stuff. Also, Mark Fernandez himself, you know, he'll he'll let a let enough bomb slip right? Pretty much willy nilly, which is totally fine. So. The only the only area that I sort of get confused with this whole thing, which sort of speaks to a bigger a bigger talking point is is monetization, right? So if it's just for fear of monetization because no one's no one's quite sure how YouTube works these days. Kidding. You say, fuck, can you not say fuck? Can you say poopie? No one's quite sure. But I think if they're afraid of the d. monetization of video just because of, you know, cursing on air. I don't know how heavily YouTube monetization ways in what they're actually doing. Obviously, if they are things are a little bit more tight. Maybe it has a greater weight than it has in the past, but. I don't. I just, I honestly don't know. I, I couldn't tell you because. She's me. Sorry, sums going off my throat schmo down videos. They, they just they let them curse on the schmo down. They just right, not. It's on an issue on a big deal. I guess the hell's the matter with you? I don't know. Sorry, boot, I'm a bigger. No, that would that would make things worse. It would make fungus grow inside my own body would look like something from. That terrible movie with the shimmer earlier this year. Anyway, I, it would actually get rid of the fungus, whatever. So I don't even remember going to this whole thing. I think this Motown causes all the time. I'm bigger fan of just saying what you want speaking, how you how you normally talk and any particular situation. Of course, I think that's more of the way of new media. I think anytime and I guess it's more on YouTube, but any anytime there's this likelihood or not likelihood dislike nece to standard television standard, broadcast television, network, cable, whatever. I, I'm not a huge fan of that personally, but I guess I get it if it is a money thing. Do you think I could spend this discussion off to another area. Where are you at with wanting to know how collider makes their money.
