"We start the morning where it's 62 degrees in Gainesville that North Korea's news talk wdun and 14 minutes after seven o'clock brings us to something. Positive for you this morning. A stroke of positivity. I love seeing folks who are innovative. And are able to take their innovation and their creativity and share it with other people so that they can help other folks achieve what they have, such as a case if you were able Tohno with newsroom yesterday with Mitch Clark, he checked in with former U G, a standout and NFL player. Ready. Current former NFL player any current who is busy in the Atlanta area, doing a lot of great things, but not just there. He's reaching out with his foundation to help athletes from high school. The retired pros reach their potential, both on And off the field. And when I found refreshing was he was saying, you know, you arm or In just your sport, which I think is fantastic. But he's put together a foundation is called game changers and kind of curious as to what led him to come up with this idea. Yeah, well, it was really a combination of my passing chances. You know, you mentioned it's my career as an athlete, and then you know, just the things I was able to accomplish. A lot of that was the result. So many people report into my life and coaches, teachers, trainers, and even when I transition, which a lot of people out there know when it comes to the athlete. Transition is extremely tough, but I was able to have a lot of mentors that poured into me as well like business leaders. And folks like John Gordon, who's a best selling author and speaker, who is one of my mentors now that it allowed me to make a smooth transition into entrepreneurship. And Kino speaking Offering coaching and everything. And so I thought about all those things, man I realized like I have so many people, t really that I hold a lot, too, You know, And so Really want to create this foundation to recreate my experiences with when it comes to high school athletes becomes the former athletes be noble toe really create opportunities for them in exposure and empowerment. I had the unfortunate experience of getting cut after my second year in the NFL and allow me the time to really start to build my brand to work on my identity. The village doctor create a plan for what I wanted to go and so do that process. And through that experience, I learned the importance of be prepared, You know, being proactive instead of reactive. When it comes to transitioning, and when it comes to, you know your career, and that's not this grassy just for anybody. That's right. We should all take the time to really work on our platforms, work on our identity outside of just our jobs and our titles. And one of our aspirations are and so I'm so passionate about helping especially athletes, the younger ones because I believe you have to start really have to start, at least in that middle school high school phase starts really teaching about life skills and nothing to understand. What they're doing on the field translates into the real world there into what I say there. There were like this because I don't care how great your careers is. Everybody's platform, Everybody. Tradition has been expiration date on it. So exactly what does Game changers do everything and what the game is going back to my past experiences. That was going to the recruiting process and trying to get the University of Georgia before anybody knew who any current Woz. I restocked the guy when I was just trying to figure out my path by name, and Jessie Tuggle. And just whatever was, you know, Atlanta Falcons writing you just so happen to be the same side with me. And just by the fact that I knew he existed just by the fact that I could go to his house and watch this film and see his jersey hanging up like I at that point just believe that my dream could become a reality. And he was just one of many. I mean, I had him guys like him have Thomas Davis when I got the University of Georgia had Hines Ward. I mean so many guys that disappointing to me and made me believe in not just We can still on the field performing but off the field, how to conduct myself. You know, it's a man in that position and handling the weight of success in the pressure because there's so many things that come with being nothing that people don't realize. Especially when you're at the University of Georgia, or you're trying to go to the DFL. You basically become a CEO overnight. There's a lot more to it, and I really like the idea that he from the standpoint of there a lot of people that gave to him when he was in need as far as mentorship and helping him along the way, But it seems that with what he's doing now, it's a question of okay. When you get to a certain point you're able to give back By giving back to those people that mentored you. You give back by also mentoring other people by doing what they did for you for other folks to continue to help build people up, and I think that is fantastic. But I also think it's fantastic is his relationship with his mom. Because current signed a contract with his mother that he would finish his degree, even though he'd been drafted into the NFL. And of course, the big question is. Did you get the diploma? I got it in, you know, but on my watch this one outside of negative to the NFL is one of my product accomplishments. And I earned it that that 30,000 business degree, and it's definitely paid dividends. And it was not easy by any means. Tear ecology. Not easy. No, I feel like you just got a great God, man that I passed the accounting and finance and all that stuff. I just Make me hurt. You think about it kind of makes me her thinking about it, too. But you don't have to be a former or current athlete to be part of game changers. There's ways for everybody to fit into this and easiest way to find out. How you can help is by going to the game Changes Foundation as game changers plural..

"But jared was you know in the fifth round in it was unacceptable. Even at the time at the time for jared to fall to the fifth round like you was super productive in in clemson in a fantastic college player in the only real knock on him was that he was short. He was like six feet tall That was kind of a ridiculous thing for you. Know a player to get knocked so much from the drop. All the to the fifth round like jared should have been a second second rounder probably given like everything off taking everything into consideration. The you know it's The falcons gain they moved up. I remember you know. He's also a toggle son so it was. You know it was. It was a great moment. Jessie tuggle announced the pick and he immediately got a lot of sports from the fan base of the so i. I wonder where. The where where jared goes. If there's like a full redraft twenty fifteen class like you know how top of the second if not in the first easily doll i mean like i thinking. Oh no i'm thinking more like he'd be top ten like ed this entire drive classmate like i mean if there's a redraft like right now like today He was you know fanta and this is one of those where you know. We've gone through each round and we're like. Oh while the falcons could have also gotten this guy who's a better pick. Who would have been. Better peg the falcons could have gotten this guy. Notes hindsight twenty twenty. But this is the pick where the falcons got him and this is other teams being like well. Yeah like a seattle. Yeah we got trae pool. But we could have gotten grady jared Break got john feliciano but we have got dirty or you know. The reagan got allen L. and dollars could have been jerry so it was. It was one of those where this one is. full like. full-on hit. There is no player after him that you would have rather had. Yeah in. I scanned through this draft class. When i was like oh man Especially from this point forward as you go through the six round and into the seventh round there is just no one Maybe maybe trent brown in the seventh round guard with the central cisco but that's it and Otherwise like grady jarrett was the best pick honestly for the remainder of the draft easily. And as you mentioned probably would be a top ten pick if you re drafted this entire class so and rightfully so he's been one of the best interior pass rushers in the nfl Since since he came into the league and who can forget who can forget his performance in the super bowl where he just absolutely was a destroying the patriots offensive line handedly It is a shame that we have not paired him with any other guys in that right now even this two thousand and twenty season. It's literally grady jarrett and a bunch of dudes so sad but hopefully hopefully the next coaching staff next gm will address that finally finally close out the draft Just two last names both taken in the seventh round. Both of these guys ultimately wouldn't do much in league number two twenty five out of eastern washington offensive lineman jack rogers and that new number two forty nine out of san jose state safety slash corner a keen king near these guys. Worked out with the falcons or with any other team in. Its the seventh round on hammer. Too much on these guys So with that on non. We've gone through free agency. We've gone through the draft. Why don't you give me your great if you will for. What dmitrov did the free agency what he did. In the draft and ultimately the job differ the two thousand fifteen season it was. It was a pretty solid offseason overall. I'd probably give it Maybe like a b minus Just because none like you got. You got some nice contributors. You didn't really Wait let let me let me Redo let's make it a solid. Be not to be minus over. Just because grady jarrett was just that good of a pick you know he was like a a game changer. But you know nobody else really like in free agency. You didn't really get any any real game changers You know in the drop vic beasley was was solid for year. But you know that's a top ten. Pick where he didn't make it past his rookie contract. you know. i know we talked about like in the moment but now that we have the gift of hindsight beasley wasn't like you know fantastic. Pick collins was a bust. Coleman was solid jarrett was really good. But you know there was a lot of foundational pieces here Which resulted in that. Super bowl like a lot of a lot of good contributors solid. You know with the super bowl. Of course. we know about a freeman. We know about matt ryan jones. There were a lot of these guys who were worker bees so to speak and in helping the team get to that point and i feel like again had we won the super bowl. We'd be looking at this draft class this overall free agency in a different light because we'd be like oh well jalen collins had great twenty sixteen in we probably don't win the super bowl without like him stepping up and Yeah stepping into it. So you know that's that's a shame but overall that's just how it goes without with evaluating the past. So this was it was all in. We saw grady. Jared to to show for it at this point. And he's been he's been absolutely fantastic. So i this wasn't twenty twelve. You know at the twenty thirteen off season at all so this was. This was one of demetrius better. I know better off seasons..

"And then if you add to it, a J boy is not out there. And he wasn't at practice today. That doesn't mean that he's not progressing in the concussion protocol, but you felt a lot better about seeing Philip Lindsay out there last week. On the practice field as he was making his way through the concussion protocol. No age. A boy puts even more stress on these young corners, or Bryce Callahan, who, you know, he made a hell of a play against Mike Williams. But Going against Julio Jones for an entire game might be is a tall task for any corner, even the best to ever do it. But certainly when you look at what Julio could do, and prices size limitations could be a bit of a long day for the Broncos. Second, Grady Jarrett might be the best defensive tackle in football right now. Not named Aaron. Donald. It's gonna be a handful for Ah, Broncosoffensive line. You already says going without Graham glass cow. How do you think they're going to hold up against that? And have you seen the other defensive lineman Tak McKinley earlier today, jumping on jumping on Twitter that dude for a guy who couldn't buy himself a sack. You know it through his career in Atlanta is doing his best to get himself sacked now. Yeah, I get attacked. McKinley wanted to get traded. I guess a year ago and then you want to get traded again, and they keep shooting it down AA and he was I pick out of the way. The hope is that he can be disruptive enough to his own locker room right and and mail it in that when he's out on the field, I know that most people are gonna Act like that right there. I'm gonna just go embarrass themselves. But maybe he could be enough of a distraction that you Khun double team Grady Jarrett and just not get tack McKinley's best effort because you're right. I think next Erin Donald I probably put radio ahead of Chris Jones. Not necessarily talent wise, but he's got a motor that never turns off right for and for 1/5 round pick who finally made his first problem last year. You know, he's the son of Ah! Falcons great Jessie Tuggle. And so I don't have it. You will know that. But let's have a fun fact. But Grady Jerry is a hell of a ballplayer. And I think you have to double team him as much as possible as much as your offense allowed, because if he's won on one, even if classical we're healthy Or one along with cushion Barry or one on one with rising a. It's It's a long day for all three of those guys. I hope you have a slope mint in this case. Sorry. Yeah, No, that's okay. The game between the Packers important just going final. I hope he had the over in this one because a garbage time touchdown by San Francisco with four seconds left MIT absolutely nothing. Except for the gamblers. Well, I had the Packers and I got it. I think 7.5 on draftkings. Hope you guys. Yeah, Yeah, OK and loaded up. So I did pick the Packers Dean, one of my many fantasy leagues, thinking they'd have a big night. They ended up just a nine because of that garbage shuts down like he said, so. But yeah, the Packers that felt like the lock of the week. It absolutely did. "I write the great social experiment is here these things happen when I go on vacation, which is like news is just pop off in the news that popped off in this case. Cam Newton Bill Belichick found another box special. Dot Cam Newton for the low low. gave the numbers where they show like how much less money Cam Newton and Jason are making like basically the lowest pay backup quarterbacks in the league that are already deals. Yeah, yeah, wow, it, okay and wild up in a tricky situation because it was all the uncertainty around his injury, AH, get why he was in the position that he was in though is still crazy that he had to sign a deal. That was so cheap, but now Cam Newton is going to Boston. And did you see when cameras on the I? G where he say he's tired of being humble. What a giant man! Right like like like you see that due to the weight room, it'd be like all right. That's the quarterback. No way no way just a giant man so anyway he gets the. He didn't get anything wrong this time. Thank goodness right, but he gets to do KF stuff. He's like you know in the jugglers. The Hyenas I don't know why he went first hyenas I. Don't think about when I think about the juggle their. As it was the hyenas, he said that antelopes I don't know how you got the. Withdrawal to animals, but he laid a one line and he's. Go Raw. He was in full Atlanta country mode like he was in. All of right gave what was, Campbell. Yeah, humble is not the word I. just describe Kim new no shade, but not the word. Win was that. Do you remember? That day was horrible. I must have been on vacation again. He says that he's yeah. Yeah, all that stuff. Yeah, Cam Newton. He Autobahn. I cannot wait to see this social experiment that is going to be Cam Newton. Play it for the New England Patriots. I sure hope he's good. The radio like game in Boston is already started on this talking about the Patriot Way and Cam Newton, celebrating and whether or not bill checks going to tolerate it. Yo, here's my question about that because I. did see that okay, so let's say that there is this Patriot way right, and let's say the Patriot way means no celebrates is actually not really what it means, but okay. Okay Fahmi Rob Gronkowski look like he's still had a hell of a good time. You know doing what he did right? Tom Brady looked like he found a way to get his celebrate on when the time came all right, so let's just say that it's this patriot. Way and that you're not allowed to. You know celebrating. Kick it like cameras and everything else. Why would you? Be We cam, and now we're bill, Belichick, right like why are you not on the radio? Say Come Bill. Let this man have fun right because if he has fun. We are going to have fun. Why why why would you? Why would that not be your approach as opposed to oh? He's not doing it the way we do it up here. y'All like that like I understand that you like the winning, but I don't believe that there is any correlation at all between the winning the celebrating I. Don't think there's any correlation between losing to celebrate I don't think there's any correlation at all with. That is just something to do. Why are here rooting for boring? I don't I don't see. That would be the way that you would ever WanNa. GET DOWN! Why do you WanNa root for boring? You should be rooting for the fun in this book boy. You are going to have the fun, Cam Newton if he plays well I would just really like if he played well, I don't want to live in a world of sports coverage where he does not play will like I. Don't have any real personal investment in. How will CAM plays? I do have a personal investment and not having to deal with income in twitter class at twenty twenty, getting new accounts up and bomb boarding me because km now playing well I. Don't I don't I don't really need that in my life gave I'm not really. In No, no, no, no, no I. Don't i. don't want those things. The other thing I want to know to man have y'all really forgotten. How Good Cam Newton was! or or did you never realize how good we was and I? Bring this up. Because yesterday I got into this thing about Matt Ryan and I don't think Matt. Ryan's a hall of Famer. I am blown away by the idea like how fans. Nobody thinks that Matt. Ryan is a hall of Famer, but vagus fans ain't never had in their lives. Therefore, they see a guy like that and they want to jump all over hall of fame. Hall, of Fame, only because y'all know no better. That's fine. I'm trying to think how many like died. died in the wool. Atlanta Falcons have made the hall of fame. Claude Humphrey is the only one that I can think of like Dion Sanders not a dyed in the wool. Atlanta Falcon you understand what I'm saying like I. Don't know who else we got Jessie. Tuggle didn't make the Fan Keith. Brooklyn and go make the hall of fame. I can't go make the hall of fame. Julio might at some point. In fact, that should tell you how hard it is to get into the hall of fame and this they lose sight of okay. Julio Jones. Might make the hall of fame. But he's idiots are positive. Matt Ryan's go make. A, but anyway I made the point about Matt Ryan that for the majority of Matt Ryan's career he has been the third best quarterback in his own division, and that's not really shade to him as much as it is. The NFC south has had great quarterback play. For the last decade. Cam Newton's better quarterback. Matt Ryan and so what people do is they hit me back with all these stats right like Oh Matt Ryan average forty six hundred yards, passing by the way Oh numbers that I think are useless like you'll find that when I started talking about football players in my cases hall of fame. The you're not going to see me go to a statistical case unless there's something very very very particular, but Matt Ryan but the one about six on at times a year since he walked into the League right He's been super pass happy offenses since he got in. In there and in two thousand sixteen, the MVP, he was very good, but have you ever thought Matt Ryan as being one of the best quarterbacks in the League? Because if you're not a guy that we immediately think of is one of the five best at quarterback, the you're not in the discussion for the hall of fame. You probably need to be up there on like two three level like it just so happened that we had an embarrassment of quarterback riches with Brady. Breeze Rothlisburger, manning like Aaron Rodgers like all those guys being really good at the same time. That's wild uncommon. y'All talking to me about Matt Ryan, being in the hall of fame, he's just not. He's just not is okay, but he's just not in the hall of fame. Cam Newton was a absolute force right now. We don't know if he's still going to be a force. Do walked into league through for four thousand yards is virtually are like if you WanNa talk about that. That's walking in really not knowing what he was doing like I. Know What the Panthers retelling. Cam is rookie year. If it's man throw to the receivers of its own or the titans. Else, basically what they were telling him to get out there? Get out there and get it done. Cam Is the number one and we're GONNA. See how this holds up now that he's coming back without question, the best third and short option that there has ever been in the NFL without question the best. They're insured option. There's every bit. Did you realize this? Do you know how many thousand yard rushers Cam Newton played with the panthers game to Christian McCaffrey, just Christian. McCaffrey de Ngelo, Williams and Jonathan Stewart never had thousand yards, not Tolbert, either not play with never had a thousand yards, never did all his was different about cam versus every other quarterback that I can think of and this includes Michael, Vick, and Randall Cunningham and all these guys..

"I think it's it was having a different punter and placeholder every week Not Helping but when you go. Let's say like a decade from now. Hopefully fans aren't thinking. Oh yeah remember how it ended like remember the Times. Where like against the seahawks where he steps up in makes a big kick. Matt Ryan used to get him into field goal range to where he can make. These fifty yard kicks to win the game. You know in a lot. The accolades obviously go to quarterback has got him down there. But a lot of Matt Ryan Wins. I actually did a Falcon holic. I think last year on a lot of the winds came from Brian Light. So He's definitely In my top three and I said it Julio Jones I gotTa keep him up there some great top three. It's just it's tough because like there's a lot of people who deserve to be on the list that I did watch. You know that I like Tony Gonzalez. I love Tony Gonzalez. But there's no way I can knock one of these guys off of the list Michael Turner I loved. Him Chris Chandler was like my first like real quarterback as a fan like I always had a soft spot for him. I even had a Chris Chandler Jersey. And if you're looking on the FALCONS DOT COM. I'll have the picture will be up there but Yeah I'd have to go Matt Ryan Map Right. Julio Jones because that's my teenage years into my present that those were the three instrumental and You know being fan I. Let's be honest. The best stretch of continuous. Winning seasons in Falcons history happened with those three guys team. Anchoring like you said that the comebacks we often talk about Matt Ryan his comebacks and he obviously one hundred percent deserves credit for them but same time. Many of them as you noted came on the heels of Matt Bryant Punching in many clutch field goals. And I don't want any listener to forget the fact that Matt Bryant was as clutch as they came and It fantastic lists of completely agree with you a little bit of a different note. Because in the time the falcons have been around they have had some interesting Yeah obviously we've got Dan Quinn. Currently we've had a guys leg. Do Jones Just a whole host Mike Smith but who is your all time? Favorite Falcons coach doesn't even have to be the most winningest coach used to coach. You enjoy watching or whatever your reason. This well just for the sake of picking one. I guess I'll go Dan Quinn but like I really don't have a favorite Like I'm not willing to go to bat for any of I think it's they had so much. You know like Dan Quinn. He's had so much talent in obviously couch in played a part in that Mike Smith I believe is the most winningest coach Probably like what sixty something wins? He's at Dan Reeves I love the suddenness of like he just I mean growing up I remember thinking he was great in everything in He just he was. You see different techniques from these coaches or different coaching styles and stuff. We're Mike Smith. You saw little more passion You know during Games think wind has kind of that passion also. He's got that like where he wants to give inspirational. Speeches in quotes and stuff like that You know they're all very different. But I mean Dan Quinn he. I think he's had the most success in the years he's been given where you know you go to the Super Bowl You almost go back to the Super Bowl. you know. We've been in a dry spell recently but you know weird stuff like hey think wins going to get fired and then they all of a sudden go six and two or whatever you know and it's like I have you know we have mild I guess connections to the Locker Room where we can hear stuff in the one thing I've heard constantly in. It's now out in the media so everybody knows it but the players loved like they. They love him. They played their azoff foreign last year. Like they that's the reason he's still there because the players really tried to keep him and they they succeeded but they love Damn Clinton. I think that's the kind of coach you want Obviously everybody wants to win. But you know you want somebody who you want to play for. Its like leader. You know you want somebody who's GonNa Legion battle in Dan. Quinn is a guy you know and the I'm a big fan of in Queens and I know a lot of fans obsolete into this podcast in those read site a ready to move on from him but I feel like he's done a lot of things right. I'd I really hope. Twenty twenty goes well for him so to your point I like. He's he's connected with the players in the way that many of our other coaches have not and I think he does things right way so all. Right moving on Falcons players. We have seen quite a few come through either training camp or the team throughout the years. So on. Talk about the most underrated in the most overrated. That you've seen in your time watching the falcons. So we'll start with the first. The most underrated Falcons player in your mind that you see fans constantly criticizes person or Anti Consort Review like dare not appreciated in a way that I mean the obvious answers Matt Ryan but I'm sure like everyone else's picking net so I'm a go off in different but that's who I would pick is obviously what he's done for this franchise something. It's one of those things where once he leaves. You'll appreciate it more in it's unfortunate but that's how that's how it goes. You know the Miami Dolphins are doing that right now with Marina. They've been doing twenty years or whatever so for me. The most underrated in Like it's Jessie Tuggle. I just you forget. It's easy to forget. He was there but he was such a force. You know linebacker in. We've had you know even Tommi notice. These are guys who it pisses me off. But it's like even this past where Tommy no biscuit snub from the hall of fame. It's like these guys were great at what they did. It just ties back to that thing. I mentioned earlier about the Falcons by where it's like. They're on the Falcons so it not. It's a knock against them In a lot of these guys like Tommy no miss might can like. I didn't watch them play. It's been more research afterwards but Jessie tuggle actually did watch play I think he's severely underrated the linebacker. Yeah I mean I. Unfortunately it's not just one it's like. I have a list of Falcons Who were severely underrated. A lot of them were in the past in. It's a shame because you know if you WanNa underrate Matt Ryan. I think they'll be more appreciation when he's gone anyways. Because of just grady was for the franchise but it makes me sad to think of these guys like Jessie Tuggle Tommy Notice. Might Ken Hell I mean I know. Quant humphries in the hall of fame but Unfortunately this dude had ninety four and a half sacks is a falcon but unfortunately the. Nfl did not count sacks entitled the year after he retired he with the Eagles for two years and so Abraham John Abraham who's phenomenal not taking anything away from him but he gets credit as being the lead sack even though it's caught humphry but he's in the hall of fame so he doesn't have to worry about being underrated. But you know but there's a long list of guys like like you mentioned Mike and Thomas and stuff were underrated and if they had you know a steelers logo on their helmets. They would've already been in fame. Tom was on the I. Believe the nineteen sixties. Nfl decade team and not in the hall of fame even though like Dick Buck his But you look up the linebackers I guarantee you all of but maybe one is in the hall of fame. Aside notice it's it's a travesty really I know like even you can look at like billy white shoes. Johnson was Part one of the all decade teams and he was like one of them. He's like the only dude who's not in the hall of fame like. Yeah so my my underrated. Nece I guess comes from the bias of conspire all right. Flip side of that equation. Who is in your your mind when the most overrated? Where'd fans maybe got behind this player in a way that you didn't completely understand Ooh Cautioned I'm prepared to duck because the tomatoes are gonna be thrown at me. Ha Like I was a fan of Michael Vick right like throughout my childhood. You know he was the talk of the town like he explosive But like in Hindsight. It's like he didn't play that long in. Atlanta obviously He never threw for. I think more than twenty touchdowns I know he ran you know. Obviously he was running as much as he was passing. But you know stuff like that. It's like I didn't even win win. A whole like we went to the NFC championship in lost to the was at the eagles and that was like for this. You know he went in you know incredible talent I think he him like Dion Sanders impact came more from their prestige in like off of the field. Like giving a talking point to the Falcons Dion. Sanders had to go win super bowls elsewhere. But like he brought a notice to the city of Atlanta. You know what I mean like the same thing whereas like their impact was more off field strictly as a player. I mean I would say it's overrate he's overrated but I don't know I mean there's probably a lot of people who disagree with me on that but You know athletic. Of course there no debating it and like that but is he like one of you know. Some people say veteran Matt Ryan at quarterback like No. It's not even close a belief Critters actually chose my. I think it was James said Mike Vick as well. So you're you're not alone in that. I want to make it clear like it's not that I don't think he was a good player. It's just you know I wouldn't personally bill the statute for him. That's what I'm saying like you gotTa be here for like look at Ryan insecurities been here. How long he's been with the Falcons. Yeah we went to Bolton and great but like that success long-term vic brought more of a socially impact. We're you know all of a sudden. You're getting Monday night. Football Games in you know everybody wants to talk about the Falcons. 'cause the Nike commercials and stuff like that. But so I'm just speaking strictly as a player hundred percent all right. The most gratifying win for the Falcons. Since you've been watching them I mean it's gotta be the packers in the NFC championship a few years ago. And obviously that's probably because it's more recent but I have never felt more What.

"The Dion Sanders I don't think he is I mean he will he will have a longer years with two level more years with the falcons franchise but Dion Sanders is one of the three best quarters ever to play the game you wouldn't say that about Julio Jones and wide receiver no what I'm trying to what they did is a falcon every Dion fourteen year career only the first five there with it Lana yeah ends up winning with the Niners with the cowboys I yes the I'm sure this is a hall of fame all time great player but I don't I don't even think we think the US should she think falcons anymore well I think that's fair but is he the best player in falcons history that he's on the list it's him Julio Jones boy this is it well I mean this is this is this is not a joke Jessie Tuggle was a great linebacker for them for a long time but he was a hall of Famer right and I'm sure they've had all their players maybe the end of their career they could like Tony Gonzalez okay twenty is also the founder of the arrival rate fell kid Riley put again with NFC championship games with the Atlanta Falcons only there for a couple seasons I mean Mike Vick is he one of the greatest falcons ever probably probably probably just shaded the counting five years of the on Sanders three years of twenty eight dollars and then as the coming to play I guess that's true B. Tommy nobis was a great player way back when in the sixties early seventies but okay so either way it's an interesting conversation like does Dion Sanders have the right to ask players not to wear his number in Atlanta I say no because he was only there for five years and because he was a mercenary up a gun for hire had he stayed fourteen years for the falcons and he was like Mister falcon I guess I would feel differently if he was there for fifteen years and said Hey I kind of don't want twenty one take and and the falcons had a retired it I guess I could feel for Deana but if you're only there five years and you just went to the highest bidder any way you played for five teams of your NFL career I don't think he's got any right to tell Todd Gurley what to wear yes also by my count I believe it's either seven or eight falcon said of ward twenty one since Dion so why the big deal with girly is it more of an ego thing that he doesn't want to be the perfect potentially could be better in the R. twenty one in Atlanta I mean he never probably Eric Metcalf deangelo hold Desmond true font good point Williams good point why was just never a story with them why is the story with Todd Gurley okay so I think that you're probably right that now as he's getting older he's more protective of the Dion legacy that he looks a girly as actual superstar even though Gurley is not played like when the last couple of years but maybe could overtake it also Gurley's a Georgia guy so maybe you know there's a threat there but Dion says now he was just joking he says thanks for the love but it ain't that deep to me I was joking with you T. "What a great question Jesse David Fox on Alcoholic podcast. This is David Walker. I am joined by my partner in Crime Genome Thomas. We're getting to know a little bit more about Gina in this getting to know writers podcasts. Gina I'm GonNa hit you with more questions. Was We wrap this one up for the day before the break? Ask You about your favorite all-time player in your favorite current player And now once you give me your top three so it could be mixed active Former players who were the three that if your teenage Gina Thomas you're GonNa put a poster of these three guys in your bedroom right next to that poster of new edition I law. I am so old that I guess knew this would work block. New Kids on the block would be. That's really what I had on my wall so top three time. I mean I've just said that. Roddy and Julio are my favorite past and current and I think I'm going to flip John Abraham in there Yeah those are all guys who obviously have played for the team. Since I became a fan I think that that it kind of limits may sound like I've interviewed Mike Ken. Before and I really really like him. Cy considered bad same thing with Jessie Tuggle But I wasn't really following the team when those guys played so I feel like that's disingenuous so I'm gonNA stick with those three guys. It's Abraham. I really liked that one because I feel like especially nowadays with this current Falcons team. We don't have that premier edge rusher since ABE was here right and it's easy to forget. Just how good. He was passed. But yes now. Granted the saints when he was here not GonNa Save William More would-be honorable mention. It's en it's all because of his William. Oh always read a rap like that. That alone was almost enough to sneak him into the top three. But I'M GONNA Save William. Oh my honorable mention. I like it I think he he always ends up on. Falcons highlights highlight reels with Z. Suplex body slam rams player when he hit like a truck. And I I if if I can add another honorable mention it's going to be Michael Turner and I will forever love him for literally throwing Eric. Rams into a defender making him block disgusting and amazing. It was hilarious. I loved it so okay so there. I've named enough players now. I'm bent the rules for this question. Our rules are sort of hazy. Best a flip the script a little bit. We've talked about players. Obviously those are the guys everyone thinks about. But I think that Falcons have actually had some colorful coaches over the end. Some very interesting coaches Obviously Dave mentioned Dan Reeves and his time here We've had Jim Mora by during no Mike Smith arguably helped turn this franchise around in two thousand eight. And we've got now Dan Quinn who I think you know despite the struggles has been seen as one of the most personal coaches so for you and I think this is interesting too because you've actually gotten to know two of these men at some level who the in your mind is the your favorite falcons coach. They don't even have to not favorite from a success standpoint or anything of that but just you know your own like you've liked to see these guys they resonate with you. Who is WHO's at the top of your list with Elkins someone to talk through this a little bit to explain it and I would say I spent an afternoon watching the early games last game in the Georgia. Dome prior to that But one against the saints. I watched that game. The early games lifting in Raves and his wife and I it was some four event and I was interviewing him and did some camera stuff for Ford with that and I just I absolutely loved him at we sat. I watched the cowboys. The cowboys were playing the eagles that day and so I sat and watched cowboys game with him and he was like asking me questions about it and talking to me like I was a person not some clueless lament which you'd be surprised especially with older. You probably wouldn't be surprised. Especially with older coaches. They kind of assume it's like you know Okay Sweetie so cute that you think you know about football by reince. Did Not talk to me like that. He talked to me like somebody that he expected. New the game because I work in the field and I just learned a lot from him like he. He is awesome. He is I can tell just from the afternoon that he's an incredible coach. Mike Smith is a very nice man and I like him very much but I guess I really have to go Sam clan. I know that this may not be a popular answer for a lot of Falcon stance. I Know Quinn pretty well and for the past couple of years especially as I started getting promoted at SP nation. You know Dan makes appoint coming talks me asking me about my job. We have a lot of conversations about effective leadership and mentoring people and you know helping to get the best out of people who report to you and so just from that perspective. I think that that's really Dan Strength. And I think that that's part of the reason that we saw the players rally behind him After the bye this year and so I have to say that he is the one that I have the best relationship with. And it's really because he you know he takes the time to actually care what is going on in my life and like talks to me about things that are relevant to me. I just he is a very genuine person and very easy to talk to. Yeah I always get a little frustrated because sometimes you know the interactions. We have with People who are fans of the team. They tend to have this impression of Dan. Quinn when they talk about his catchphrases in his energy in you know certainly when the team is winning. They're all about it but now that the team is has been struggling to pass two years. They sort of slammed him for being. This raw guy is if he's fake artificial and at least in my limited interactions have been camp a few times with you. You can tell this is legitimately who he is. There is no front. There's no faking. This man is he's just he's positive he cares about people. He has a legitimately good man. I want to see him succeed in Atlanta. Because of that. Because we've seen some bad coaches here and I know you and I have talked about that in the past. Just that he is legitimately a caring person like he. He does not have to come up to you like there's no cameras rolling. None of that's going on but he does. He checks in on on people randomly because he is just a good good personnel at the core Add want people to hear that because I feel like this season. If it doesn't go perfectly he is going to get burned alive and you know that's part of the NFL. It's not in this surprise but I don't want it to turn into a bashing him as a person because I do not think that that's fair. No I agree and yeah the. Nfl is not for long. Everybody knows that so. Dan will eventually make an exit You know if like you said if they don't trumping seasonable be sooner rather than later. But Dan Quinn will leave this franchise better than he found it All right let's talk about. This is interesting because they've had some pretty interesting zone. What you have to say here but One of the other things we get to see writing about this team is sort of under hyped players guys. Maybe that swept under the radar. And don't get the respect. They deserve and sometimes the opposite where fans get like religiously zealous about thinking this person's neck superstar in it doesn't turn out so in your mind. Let's start with the first. Who is the most underrated Falcon in recent years? Where maybe the fans didn't appreciate his much or whatever. Yeah he just didn't get the credit he deserved. It's Matt Ryan. I think it's it's absolutely Matt Ryan. I don't know why people say he has a noodle arm. I don't know why. They say that he can't win. The big game you know. They act like they're twenty two people Well actually thirty three. If you're counting special teams. You know who are responsible for the outcome of game. I mean Matt has been known to make some boneheaded mistakes like every quarterback does but he has been extremely extremely good for the Falcons. I mean he is exactly the kind of guy that you want us a franchise quarterback and I really don't think that fans appreciate that enough. I think that they I mean people act like quarterbacks grow on trees you know look around the league some of these teams that have been AC with quarterback decision and look at the positions that are in So yeah I think you know it. It probably sounds ridiculous because obviously he's paid very well. You know he is a he is. He's a a you know top tier player but I don't think that fans fully appreciate how his talent and what he's done for this team i. It's funny because I feel like you know. Two Thousand Sixteen. A lot of his critics were silenced. even two thousand seventeen. They started to come out a little bit but that season was so fluky and he still played really well and in two thousand eighteen. Put up numbers that were similar to two thousand sixteen. Which is mind boggling? When you think about it and I feel like last year. Two Thousand Nineteen. Some of his critics came trotting out of their rooms and they were kind of puffing up their chests because the interceptions in the rough start to the season. So yeah I think you're probably right. I think there's a long list but I think Desma True Font certainly fell on that list I agree with that. One too yeah So on the flip side who is a player or maybe players or position or something you think has been consistently overrated by fans where you're like. I don't get it I don't see why the excitement's there well I don't think any of us knew at the time but I'd say that Ray Edwards may have turned out even most overrated. Fire that they. They signed an instagram model underwear model. Oh my God forbid. He couldn't even make it through a full season. I mean that's I was so that they landed him. I was so excited and I was so ready for him to just come in and rip shit up and then now he was absolutely terrible. So yeah that was a stunning stunning David talked we. I think we settled on any training camp wide receiver. Oh Gosh yeah or Jonathan Masekela. He's Donovan Mask. While remember when everybody was so mad that they weren't playing him. I was on that list. Yeah but that was also at the time where we literally had nobody so it was like. Hey we made out. We may as well throw garbage out there. Even the burning garbage via speedy reading Freddie Martino a bunch of guys who went on the play for the Bucks Man. The bucks is like the. Nfl's island toys for the Falcons. Oh my God really a bunch of retreads. Yes that's hysterical. They're Atlanta Atlanta south. The most gratifying win in your time watching her cheering for this team. So it has to be a falcons when correct okay. Because if not I was going to say I was going to rank them in order like Minnesota Miracle. Okay so I would say in that in that. Same Vein There too that combine mediates minds a couple years ago. I think that it was the super bowl season but it might have been two thousand seventeen..

"A great question Jesse David Fox Rebecca. Fuck Lajolla podcast. This is David Walker. I am joined by the alcoholic himself. Dave Chote and we're talking about his time as a writer or covering the Falcons. His background how it became a Fan Dave. You've talked about Jessie Tuggle. Being your all time favorite Julio Jones being your current active favorite player Who are your top three. I'm GonNa pin you down. It's gotta be just three. Who would be three falcons players that you would say are the ones that if you were going to get posters and put them on the wall of your bedroom as a teenager. Dave choke who those three guys and the teenage show. Well that's You know I had hair. I was feeling good about myself. You know. All my life was before me But I would say Julio Jones I would say Jessie Tuggle and I would say Michael Vick and again you know I. I will always respect that. Not everyone loves Michael Vick for the way the career ended there and you know some of the things that he admitted about His attention to detail. When he was with the Falcons but that guy was just amazingly electric and I did have posters of him and figurines of him all over My best friend when I was a teenager so to me he will always be one of those guys to just you know. It didn't pan out the way we wanted it to but there were some fantastic moments and he'll always be a favorite the I forget which version of Madden it was where he was. Basically a running cheat code in the game in four I've been playing madden woods. My best friend growing up was a bills fan of all things. So there's something in the water near us Madden Within Two thousand nine hundred ninety nine something like that. And the only time I've consistently beaten hemmed is when I had vic in two thousand four because that's just nothing you can do against him and I just toy with him. I'd run up and down the sideline and I miss that a lot. Yeah he and honestly video.

"Not just your I'm GonNa Pass. It ought that I look forward to going to the podium at media night on mundane saying you know what I wish for you all to call us the gold crush. We gotta get it passed dude aboard. What would we support? Who's the board WHO's the the entire D. Line so both of opposes not going to go with a Michigan Guy? I'm screwed unfinished. Just because it's coming from for me just won't do it on principle that that might be. That might be true but we'll see all right. How's he been neck? What's he added to this? Mix Brother He's he's he's been phenomenal You know what I mean as a young guy you forget that. He's a rookie. Honestly the way he carries himself he prepares themselves for the game I mean he's a he's a true pro and you know it's great 'cause because You know I I could still learn. Learn things from him on a daily basis. You know what I mean and you know we just like the you know run and ideas by each other. He's open book so is everybody else on the line and To to have a player like him and his caliber. You know in our group. I mean it's it's a blessing man The to have you know him and D. Eric Solomon We can go a whole list of names on the the line. You know what I mean. you know everybody is comfortable with each other and you know we can run ideas by each other and we just played for each other so is this is a group all around deforest buckner here on the rich Eisen show and now comes. What a challenge for you in front of you in Patrick Mahomes who has just a few days left as the reigning? MVP of of our league And his ability to stretch a play and then throw to virtually anybody at any point on the field. If you can't get to him in time I wonder what you think of this challenge in in front of you with him. No Yeah The guy's a superstar A He has can't afford an arm. You know really accurate of obviously consider anywhere on the field and His ability to extend plays as you know on a whole another level so you know as a group we gotta do a really good job with containing them in the pocket Kit And really getting through Murli and also rallying till you know all the screens and you know the quick game that they do so we I just need to be on our PS and QS And also just contain the speed that they have you know receiver. Obviously there. They they have a lot of weapons on the outside. And you you know I am I running back. So we have a really good overall job with containing their speed role prior to this Obviously you had Lamar Jackson in your sights earlier earlier this year and I imagine that was a challenge That I'm would you say similar to the one. I'm I'm wondering what what what you take out of that experience. It's Yeah Lamar. Obviously he's a whole another speed. I Different different playing styles. You know what I mean. There's he's more of a collegiate running back at quarterback you know what I mean is different game plan. You know especially dealing with that type of offense but I mean you could take things away with with you. Know obviously trying to contain them in the pocket and And all that kind of and in that sense so and his ability to extend play so we still similar traits rates but I feel like a different different type of player. While it's definitely the the offenses are are in different parts of our football universe in terms of of their Styles and strain and ability to put points on the board. They both can do that. They just have different methods in which to get back to that spot. I just wanted to just try just a mere aspect of when. Can you hit a quarterback or not like. Is this guy a runner were not and and and Mahomes is run at the end of the first half against brightens. It's been put in front front and center. As as the latest example of defender sender not really wondering when you can hit a quarterback or not and suddenly. He's twenty yards down the field. I wonder what you think. Yeah no exactly you know. Hopefully as he watches film throughout throughout the past two weeks leading up to the game you know you can see that with our defense or I've We're pretty fast defense. And we'd like to swarm and you know and watching. I'm watching the film. He would he would take a financial decision in running out of bounds or sliding. I love the way you just put attack you. tiptoe down that sideline yourself with your words right there that was nominal their business decisions that you and the rest of the gold crush ashforth see how I used it in a sense right there exactly. Yeah that makes sense right. It didn't it didn't sound okay So when do you when do you I guess. Get into film room. What your schedule this week can you got? We have a pretty normal week. I mean I'm watching. How many there watching watching film today? Yeah you're already there. Oh yeah they. They got it uploaded on our IPAD. So this is so exciting. I mean I I'm glad that you you and your your family or are situated already in the logistics or handled. Because that's for the twenty years. I brought close. I've done this. It seems can really turn some people around so you you know and then now you can just focus on everything. This is exciting for you. Perform let you go Justin her we saw what he did in the Rose Bowl. How effective effective you think he can be at this next level as we turn the page towards the draft for thirty other teams too far? I think he's A. He's a great quarterback. He he is the size. Is You know what I mean. he He has the legs Late talent and I mean he. He has a candidate for an arm. So I honestly think he he would do really well at this level and you know obviously hopefully A team to help them develop as a player. And you know. I'm I'm excited to see where he goes in the draft. Yeah I'm I'm I think you know He's got all the talent in the world. I just figured you know you WanNa talk about a another duct before I let you go. Thank you thank you for the time to forest. I really appreciate it. I know you got a lot going going on you spinning plates now and they're getting ready for your biggest game of your your life in your career there. Good luck in it. I hope I cross paths with the down in Miami. I really appreciate the call. I appreciate that having me again. Rich right back at you. That's deforest Buckner at deforest buckner on twitter. Love that Guy Twenty fifteen he. He and his teammate. From Oregon went ten picks apart in the first round in two thousand fifteen first round picks deforest buckner armstead instead. Go get them. Put them on the defensive line and then actually armstead was in two thousand fifteen and then buckner in two thousand sixteen and they hit them both back to back years and then buckner was taken four picks after Solomon Thomas Remember Salman Almond. Thomas was John Lynch's classmate when Lynch went back to school thornton melon and they were together in Stanford man the Forest Buckner and then Solomon Thomas. Those are three years in a row. Armstead Buckner Thomas and then boasts of the Ford. That to telling you man. That's the Super Bowl is about. What's the contrasting contrasting styles? Well what the niners can throw A to. It's just they choose not to or they decided they didn't have to or they saw that things. Were working so well I mean just when you look at San Francisco you feel like they play an old school style of football a run it really well and they play great defense that chief Sir like like a video game but the chiefs played pretty good defense to now. I mean. Obviously if you'RE GONNA be choosing a tale of the tape which teams defense do choose. Obviously obviously if you're going to choose a tale of the tape in which teams offense you're gonNA choose right you choose the chiefs right but both of them can really the maneuver the football and scheme their way into the end zone with some seriously physical players on the forty niners side of the field in terms of Kelsey Chelsea on the chiefs side of the field. The chiefs can just run right by you but you feel like the chiefs could hit a home run any play but close whereas you don't really feel that with San Francisco but they can you remember that story. Kettle said going in the week the one then I guess the the game which he had like almost two hundred yards receiving or something like that. And he's going to the week Shanahan's like you're going to score a touchdown on this play all right this week. And he did from like seventy yards out can score from any point on the field all of a sudden but I think people have question marks about Jimmy. Jean being able able to win it again. This I'm just telling you Mann's I'm formulating my story lines for the week. One I think is going to be who is is Jimmy G.. Not like as a person but the quarterback because they didn't they ran it twenty eight times out of the final thirty four plays after. He threw an interception reception as the Vikings and he only through eight passes in the NFC championship game. But as you will find out Chris there is a child like element in calling place. What do I mean by this when Jessie tuggle. Oh Brockman is old enough to reach the buttons on an elevator. Okay and you say. Press the button. Jessie Tuggle Brockman and Jessie Tuggle. "You know what this is rich. No what does that. It's the money machine gene counting the money. What's happened to this guy he's got? No Don who's not every game are all of one hundred percent so Chris hundred percent. I'm going to Chris. I got to imagine that God imagine that I'm scheduled to attend every game next year. You have to but you got a newborn. That's what I made. I'm going to have a seven month old at that point you're not GonNa turn to Sarah and say You you take care of Jessie Tuggle Brockman right okay while I go and you have a great time right. I can't read okay right when you know you know Oh. There are thousands of bears fans in this town. Oh that would great right for those tickets. You know a a lot of money man bears Albouy. I WanNa yes or no answer out. I want to go down this list and I WANNA sincere. Yes no no answer. Any question is do you sell your tickets for these games. Yes bears at one hundred percent patriots. Probably on probably not cowboys. Yes yeah you don't WanNa see Cowboys Rams in person. I want four times. The price of my ticket jets. Now you can have this closer. Got Mine for nothing okay. Did I say the inner part outlawed parties inside voice outside with giants Saquon. Now Muko giant's game forty niners. I was GONNA say Jimmy G. Sea Hawks Yup cardinals I am interested in China. Depends when that is what time you're going all eight one hundred percent. I'm going to probably be at half. Let's let's let's hit this one because you know again the rams unfortunately it's going to take a monster turn of events for them to win it all all and get the first Sunday night home game of two thousand and twenty on to raise a banner correct. 'cause again. I believe this year was was a pilot testing pilot to take the first game of the year out of the hands of the Super Bowl Stadium and put that on the biggest audience on a Sunday night and Thursday tonight. Just be a game that everybody's interested in and they don't want to see us but did the NFL one hundred season as the reason. Hey you know we're we're going to change the tradition a little bit but it was a a test pilot to put bears packers on the I kinda work at work worked so to me. I don't know maybe. They do open when the season in suffice. Stadium as it's called maybe they do have the first game of the season the rams hosting somebody or they might have a rematch rematch of the conference championship game that does not involve the eventual super bowl winner. If that happens I don't know but the first rams home game in this stadium is going to be nationally televised and I imagine it's got to be the first week because they're not letting the chargers the first game in this stadium that they paid for right right I. I think it's the cowboys no question. They're also because Jerry Jones helped bill is very getting the teen has los else Angeles. The Rams and Jerry Jones is something called legends hospitality that he and the Yankee started together years ago to just help stadiums with concessions but they have now moved into naming rights and selling his legends. Hospitality is selling. PSL's in that stadium and helped get so fi onboard. There's no doubt in my mind week one right cowboys rams week one. I don't have the patience Jack with you today. Let's do. That's the way it's going to be the first Thursday motto right now all right. I'll be at that. I've I've raiders season tickets and I think they're gonNA open Monday night and I want to go to both those first game as all I mean. I'm probably missing that Monday. If that happens is found in that game I football game in Vegas come on by the way I got that I got that scheduled to eight four four two zero four rich number..

"I think miami's another team game like tennessee and b._y._u. That really did themselves no favors on that first date <hes> talking about access talking about -pointment they they often have hughes lebron's going to a place. Have you ever done that on a date talking about. Maybe i don't really use a lot of joints but i've definitely had bad first dates that i don't think i'm fully not responsible for have contributed to bad first dates yeah yeah but miami's coming off the bye week and yes again playing away from home. I think with that time they're not going to get better along the offensive line but i think they can figure things out a little bit how to get the ball to some talented players space. I think defensively they're going to be in a good position. Better position. In south carolina was against same howl all they know tape on the north carolina offense under phil longo so i think we are i were underrating miami a little bit based on a decidedly awful the second half offensively against florida but i think they get it together for date number two. They find some common ground and common friends. Tell some funny stories really let down their hair a little bit so gimme miami here to cover. I have the final score as twenty seven twenty miami covering by a field ghoulish all right and finally before we go rapid fire ten thirty f s one cal- washington washington batta thirteen and a half fourteen point favorite it. I am all in on washington here. I i really liked the way that jacobson looked in his first start for the huskies. I have zero confidence that the cow offense can keep this within two touchdowns so late at night home game for washington like where they stand here. Give me the huskies muskie's minus whatever who won this game last year. I believe that'd be cow right. That'd be cal cal. That would be cal. It was a four year starting quarterback her back in jake browning who yes had ups and downs for sure was benched in this game for jake hanner. I believe cal one this game without an offensive pensive touchdown. I think it was a pick six that sealed it yup. I think calc and ugly it up again. The best secondary in the pac twelve jacobson in yes tore apart eastern washington. I think he's going to be pretty good for washington but this is a different level. I think calc and ugly this one up again. I don't think they have the offense on the road to be washington but i have a semi ugly husky wins seventeen thirteen. Whoa i think justin wilcox knows knows how to keep games close. I this is a really strong defense. They held them to again. I think ten ten points last year. Okay larry we live four rapid. Fire games real quick okay eleven a._m. <music> on s._e._c. network ohio going to pit pitiful a six point favorite dan who you got. I'm taking ohio here. <hes> i thought they showed no not really well. It was rhode island last week so who really cares about that but i thought you know quarterback advantage. I'm giving it to ohio with nathan rock and i wanted to just get ahead of everybody eighty with this. I mean you basically demonte tuggle running back for ohio. Not jessie tuggle son no not jesse. Tell what about booger mcfarland son. I don't believe so unfortunately not <hes> out yeah. I think the bobcats take this outright by three yeah. This is a good ohio football team. I'm pretty down on pit mainly because the line stinks yeah and whenever we see kenny pickett having to throw at forty one times..

"Personal device. I imagine if you're on a plan. Let's just say you're flying from San Francisco to Boston and that plane is filled with patriot fans and. Sore pipe across the country. That'd be awesome. By the way. I'm looking at some of these names on the all time tackles Lewis you. Of course. Sally Jessie tuggle Zach Thomas Derrick Brooks clay, Matthews hardy, Nickerson Donny Edwards. I mean, there's some great names on this list. Number two on that list. Then. Yeah. You are what twenty four or twenty four tackles behind Ray Lewis. That's it. I mean, I think you need to change his London Fletcher who is second all time on the tackles list here on behalf of United Airlines. You're going to tell people this. This has got to be a rallying cry now because you know, what I think what also will help you. If you have some some big names in your corner and shout, your name is the fact that a guy like you not that there aren't players like you playing today, but there's fewer of them how many guys in NFL locker room say what you said I didn't want to let my teammates down. It doesn't happen as much these days as as it did. So I think that, you know, your legend will continue to grow in the longevity and playing every single game as time goes on people are going to look back at your career and say, no guys like that. Just don't exist any wander. Yeah. I mean, especially, you know, it just I don't know. You know with just the way the game is now as far as how many guys would be able to play consecutive games things like that. But I I just I love playing football. I loved playing I love grinding in the meeting rooms, or or being in the film, you know, studying by myself trying to break down politics, whether it's gonna guess a Tom Brady or in the New England Patriots, or you know, some other unnamed quarterback making his first start, you know, undrafted. Whatever the case may be I treated every game the same way. And I just love playing the game looked.

"To up to this point and others who argued that the best way to make this decision is love of the game. Which one of those do you find yourself drawn to the most which one I guess, maybe frustrates you the most when you hear someone arguing it while I if frustrate straits me when they argue that because you know, he wouldn't be playing. Oh at such a high level, he didn't love both sports and to be one of the elite to have that opportunity to play to professional sports. I mean, he would be foolish not to at least take advantage and and give himself an opportunity. I think he's a tremendous player Beck and get it done. Again. I it's a lot of things have to happen the right way for them. And you know, I'm I'm pulling for him. I really hope that he he does play both. Because as a quarterback, you know, if you think about it. He he gets drafted in the first round that four point six million that was given to him about it, the as we'll go by the wayside, and they'll make a lot of money and those first three years the becoming the quarterback and a quarterback that I can go in there and start on certain teams right now. So he plays three years. I played three years in the NFL. And I decided, hey, okay. That's enough. I was beating my body up. And I said, well, let's go play baseball. And I was. Able to do that. And I think he has the ability to do the same thing, you know, high eleven point seven million dollar signing bonus help to write that Saint Louis game. I give up football. Oh, no question. I'm gonna be honest. I wasn't really petty give up because I was just you know, I was altered in the Pro Bowl. I was just starting to take off in the NFL. But because I had a family at that time. It was just a smarter decision on jeopardy healthwise. You know, I was heck I was almost second on team in tackles. So I was really beaten up my body right behind Jessie tuggle. So you know, the two years we we will battling it out. So Brian, you know, doesn't there have to be some concern? If he tries to play both. I mean, just the timing of it. If he's on a baseball team at any point. That's good. Then a team's not going to have their starting quarterback until the end of the World Series. Or he's going to have to leave a baseball team in the middle of a World Series run to go play football. Like that just doesn't seem like it can work. Well, you gotta understand. I'm not saying right away. I'm gonna take some times worked his way to the major leagues. So you look at his first in NFL. He's gonna probably play what maybe twenty five mile league baseball games. And then go return back football camp. You know, I played thirty minor league games hit over three hundred and went and play football. So they knew I had to potential I show my potential on the baseball field, those thirty games. So they never gave up on me. And they kept giving me the opportunities. And I think he's that type of player. He has power. Yes. Speed. He can be successful at the baseball at major league baseball level. But he's it's gonna take him time to make those first three years. They're going to be important. But it gives them time to go play football two. It's about, you know, having right situation and having both teams, you know, giving him that opportunity to do that that's going to be important. Let you go one word if he has to pick one, which one should you pick in your opinion. Of course baseball longevity. Long, debbie. Thanks for the enzyme, really. Appreciate it. Sure. It's taken. Thanks so much. And. Brian Jordan of Fox Sports. Awesome stuff. We'll get back into Kylo Murray because there's more to get to on that. But we want to get into the AFC playoff picture. We're gonna do that next on Spain and Fitz. Quick update on our poll, we asked chiefs fans, and I'm sure they weren't the only ones voting whether the heartland medium has cleared the negative energy at Arrowhead stadium..
