"Next level perfection. But you know what it had other ideas, ten hog had clearly got that starting 11 wrong, but he got his substitute also right very cost. It all changed rashford, nodding home chef's kiss with his head. Actually heading the ball further than I could kick it. Something like, I think it's his 15th goal in his last 20 games, but few will feel sweeter as Leeds fans had spent a chunk of time chanting at him that he let his country down, leads reaction to fling out rutter and Brendan aronson, which meant 27.272727 recurring of the leads players on the field in that moment were from the USA first time, three American internationals have been on the field together for the same team in a Premier League game in nearly 15 long overdue years, Brendan immediately hit the post with a free kick. Really, the stuff of U.S. fan fiction. That this actually happened Medford, New Jersey's Brendan aronson, joining little on Texas. Western McKinney and whopping has falls Tyler atoms and those three young guns through a moment charge around effervescent and it all felt so sweet, but then that dream became a nightmare. Sure drove in, squid it to Sancho, whose scarfed it through lie contractually obliged mistake and we were suddenly in our mass out territory. A big boy point though for Leeds will revel in ending their county rivals long perfect home streak, united who dominated the final exchanges were rue, the two points dropped, they go again on Sunday. I do want to pick up quickly on the Tyler. On the I do want to pick up quickly on the Jesse marsh leads management change. I'm sure there'll be questions about him. I don't want to say I feel for Jesse marsh, and just how badly he wanted this. I know what he's lived through. The false reprieve of the relegation survival last summer and they're losing his best striker rafina, the heart, the team Calvin Phillips, who's since been MIA at Manchester City, the initial blast of wonder as he opened the season with joy and delirium. God, do you remember do you remember the Chelsea victory which now stands as mere misdirection? Gave Jesse there were fleeting swagger, he challenged two hole in the technical area, then he took on an old Bruno large before attacking his own watch against Everton as a blues wound down the clock. But then the descent, the back line would not stop leaking and tactically Jesse was never able to protect it, game after game of audacious play and rewarded and done by an error or a back door left wide open over and over and over all of that joy turned to stress frustration, rumor was to Leicester their stock tuber in which the fans began to become restless, followed by a loss to Fulham, then the sharp win against Liverpool that smelled like rebound, but was merely postpone them. And then the World Cup pause, followed by rearming and the transfer window, but a cruel January, no wins in the league. The agony of bringing in verbal rutter, western McKinney. His kind of players, new toys, Jesse marsh was barely able to get out of their boxes before being fired. The sense of anger, the sense of mutiny, really permeated from the leads faithful. He traveled with that team propel that team. They are proper Yorkshire. They didn't want to hear their manager process every loss. They definitely didn't want to hear an American accent. They called him young Lampard. The fights in the terraces amongst themselves and the marsh out chants made it clear that the board had no choice. And first part, Jesse just seemed shattered, exhausted, and aware that his repeat refrain of optimism. We deserve more from that game and intrigue leads off and did. But at some point at some point, the table does not lie. And there's two very different ways Jesse marsh will now be seen, depending from where you're looking, if you're looking for leads, where you're looking on as we are from the United States for us. Jesse leaves, and this is true as the longest serving American men's manager. In Premier League history, they've only been two, and the other one was bob Bradley, he lasted just 85 days at Swansea. Is it own sad story? I think it would be some time before we see the next American Premier League coach. Take the field. I mean, talk about that if that's of interest, but I'll be honest. I have still loved watching Jessie marsh. I felt incredible joy. And I know thousands of you home here in the U.S. too from a local perspective, but in truth, from a Yorkshire perspective, it leads, Jesse never really won over the lead supporters, who yes remained besotted with his predecessor bielsa and his love of the club, which they felt refracted and the glory he brought. His getting the club, his devotion to the club, frankly, bielsa is exotic nurses and this part of he loved us this great man loved us. Oh my God, we can never repay that with any kind of love. We just can not forget this godhead. And for them, Jesse talked a lot. Jesse processed a lot. Jesse emoted this commercial partnership with LinkedIn was probably ill advised in its context and its optics and its timing and I'm not spoken to Jesse since the news, but I do imagine this huge, huge disappointment for him. In the way the job ended, the May also be an element of relief. What now we can talk about that with some Jesse's second big job. Second big challenge after Leipzig, which was not a culture fit, his results here, just two wins since August, as a hyper competitive human being, they were born imagine another job. They're exactly we will be the best national team. I'll just say for now maybe more talking about you guys have questions. But the international job stiffen club job at the same time, this U.S. job, the World Cup here is a different gravy, the power it gives as a figurehead for the game to impact it to benefit commercially in some spike. And then asterisk is Jesse's all about pressing really cut for international football. We can discuss love to hear your thoughts in the question section. Feel for the Americans left in Leeds. There's no doubt they can thrive there to an amazing city, an amazingly passionate fan base that squad is a loaded with young talent loaded with possibility for them. They know, and the drill change happens in football. They're all pros.

"You arrive in COVID, there's this patient approach to get you onto the field. Were you ever like, all right, let's get this skelly show on the road. They told me the plan away in advance. So, you know, I always trusted what they said just because they came to see me when I was 15 years old and flew for one day all the way from Germany, so how can I trust them? And what they did, the plan to play with the second team get used to German soccer the way it is, get used to the club the way they want to play. Less pressure, obviously with the second team. So those first couple months was just getting used to everything, have fun and then next year now let's get the show on the road and I think it's perfect the way they set it up. You can always tell yourself it could be worse, I could be in background to basic civilizations one O one at North Carolina. And here I am playing football. But how is your German? Because I met Christian early on at Dortmund. I think he was 60. And my God, that was some barrier. Even before the football, the language. It's very important for me to learn and I do lessons two times a week. Everyone here speaks English. It's great, but when you go team meetings are all in German. The training's all in German. So when you learn for this, but my problem is when I started when I first came, then Corona was really bad, so they wouldn't let meet the teacher anymore. So I had a good foundation, didn't work on it for three months, pretty much forgot it all. And that's just the same recurrence that keeps happening because when I go home for Christmas break or summer, you need to hear it every day to keep it going, but I have a little foundation built that I'm going to try and keep working on. I learned German solely by watching Jessie marsh's halftime team type test. Perfect.

"The image of Jessie marsh's green hugging water bottle spike in American glory. At least Manchester City. Suddenly, appearing strangely vulnerable for just a minute and Manchester United snapping back from the dead. Like the undertaker memeing cleats in truth. I'm actually doubly busting with anticipation because next week I am poised. Watch out Chicago for my annual return to that beautiful city. Oh, precious 48 hours in which I intend to inhale all of that deep dish pizza Al's Italian beef and Harold's chicken shack that the city can throw my way. I do love that place. As you know, dear listeners with all the passion of studs, coco Taylor and Joey Cora, comiskey park here, I come. Got a cold weight. And you know I don't like to make guarantees or certain predictions. But white socks research is guaranteed and it's been a slightly crazy, yet deeply meaningful week at men in blazers and fairly shattered. We have spent a lot of time with a number of truly remarkable courageous human beings who have all confronted FIFA over the issues, raised by the Qatar World Cup. Yesterday, at the morning with Tim sparv, one of the truly most intelligent blokes I've met in a long, long time. He was the Finnish captain in the last World Cup cycle and the story goes one of his teammates, team we're off to Qatar for a winter training camp and one of his teammates refused to get for humanitarian reasons and spa who was the captain, realized he was wholly ignorant as a footballer about what those humanitarian reasons were, as he said, he's obsessed with the gap between the defense and the midfield closing it down, winning, playing up the flanks. I never asked myself what fields would we play on who built them? What sacrifices did they make? Ultimately, what he did in the wake of beginning to ask those questions. Proved that he's truly one of the most intellectually curious footballers I've ever met. He ends up spoiler alert going to guitar meeting migrant workers face to face hearing their stories firsthand. And then acting upon it. He's amazing so many human beings we've interviewed this week are amazingly filled with a sense of, I wouldn't say optimism. But slight belief and I can not wait for you to hear this FIFA series. We're working on with my friend Tommy Vito and his team at pod save the world. It's been an exhausting work. But it feels so bloody important as we build it. And I hope ultimately it listens that way to one more thing I'm quite excited by. We are finally on TikTok. You can follow us at men in blazers on TikTok. It's been a it's been a crazy experience. Experimenting with a platform that has I don't know how to describe it. It's just an algorithm which is adrenaline propelled. It's like an algorithm where Brendan aronson's heat map energy and we're experimenting with the format. It's new to us. We're dropping some content on the regs. Some of it, which is only on that platform to give us a follow up men in blazers and also any feedback or ideas that you have, we'd love as ever to hear it. "Fans dreams. David, can we all agree? Did we not see with our own eyes? Can we not agree? It was U.S. international Brendan Anthony who scored the winner on his Premier League debut? Yes, in the NBA in college basketball and the WNBA. You credit the nearest offensive player rod when a player puts it into his own bucket. This was, I think, calling that an own goal is positively un American. That was a goal. That was an American goal. That was for Brendan aronson. It came off my shin somewhere in there. He said, peace somewhere in there. This kid and his confidence at camp three 30 tweeted us the first 2024 presidential election debate needs to open and close with the question did Brendan aaronson score in the opener, not content though, just with the two one win, Jesse marsh. What happened at the final whistle David with wolves coach Bruno large that the large bargee? Yeah, it was an interesting one. I mean, we don't know the full details or I certainly don't know the full details. You may have done some deep investigative undercover work to figure it out. It sort of looked to me and we've all seen this done that Jesse marsh in attempting to attempting to quotation marks. Prevent a fight managed to instigate a fight or prolong a fight at the same time. We've all been there. We've all done it. That sort of moment where you try to stop it. Now let's no, no, no, as you push somebody a little bit too hard and you get in the middle of it. It looked like it was a classic fight accelerant when he was acting like he was trying to sort of make it all go away. Jesse marsh said afterwards that it was nothing. It was just nothing. Told the media that he was very displeased with the way Jesse marsh talked to his players, Huang. In particular, but Jesse marsh don't care. He do not care like to believe that my lip reading was right that he lent him to Bruno's here and just whispered you lose. Now you have to call it soccer from here on in and Jessie marsh. By the way, give zero craps about what anybody thinks about him, but I did love watching him march up to the lead's faithful in the Jackie Charlton stand. Orchestrate in their post match joy with armed punches and slightly hilarious finger wiggles. It was like some kind of version of badger state clop, a tradition I would like to see repeat itself, please God over and over this season. A signature win to kick off, let's be clear. Play a challenge in that squad in the post Kelvin Phillips and rafina era that were spells in both halves when the defense was split wide open, chaotically wolves just couldn't take advantage of the situation, other teams will Southampton up next, then Chelsea, let's really start celebrating after that. But David, Lee United States of America against full America in October, I mean, is that not bigger than the Super Bowl. It's definitely the biggest MLS game of all time, right? Yeah, that's pretty big. I would counsel roger, I should say, Jesse marsh, I know he doesn't give a crap, but I would counsel him not to become a lightning rod for opposition managers and fans early in his Premier League career. When he hasn't won a lot yet, he might sort of want to sort of tap down that sort of energy. He's a brilliant manager. He's clearly getting everything out of his place. I don't think it's in his or the American states United's interest at this point. Can you if you can, Jesse tampered up? Well that's exactly what he was trying to do in that fight, rod, he was trying to tamp it up. I will say the fight did make me feel a certain sense of relief that Sean dyche is not the Premier League anymore. He might not live to tell the tale. Rod, you're going to talk more about this game with none other than Tyler Adams, you're taping with him later today for episode four of Tyler Adams wrote to the cut pad by Volkswagen. It drops next Tuesday right here on this very pod feed now to Newcastle two Nottingham Forest nil the tune get their first win of the Premier League season over new boys Nottingham Forest after a scoreless first half, Fabian Cher sent a Swiss thunderbolt into the forest net in the 58th minute and then just 20 minutes later Callum Wilson in a tribute to tune support of Phil Mickelson produced a piece of short game wizardry with a deft flick for the second. They're often running in the northeast slash Middle East Russia. Massive day for both of these clubs, Newcastle, effervescent on the opening day of the first full season under Saudi owners, their fans raising a banner, which proclaimed it's a new dawn. It's a new day. It's a new life for any UFC and we're feeling good. Oh, forest sleeping giant they more back in the big time first time in 23 years after a worse than their first championship season. We'd say emerge from the playoffs and the young manager, bringing sexy back, Steve Cooper. They were gay. They were nervy, their squad filled with new players still a work in progress, but they were organized enough to keep Newcastle at the back, tempting to exert unique competitive advantage with some truly bonkers corner routines where they have no one in the area until the last second and every single player just charges into the box like some kind of NFL onside kick drill. Look at it. It's on our Instagram. It didn't work. Q global laughter, but I'll say the very first time it does for ball may never be the same again. Ultimately, two moments of finishing class the second Callum Wilson finished so tasty, enough to see off forest, give them a lot to think about and the way Alan saint maximum and gema carved up the midfield these two are going to make Newcastle and Saudi Arabia look very, very good this season. Leicester two brantford two the foxes campaign got off to a flying start after Timothy castagna turned in a 33rd minute James Madison corner 12 minutes later, kin and drew spree hall caught hold of a Jamie Vardy layoff and sent a grass trimmer beyond the Brentford goalkeeper, but Leicester is as Leicester does second half lapse, allowed Ivan Toney to pull one back for the bees and it was Josh de Silva's curling effort just before stoppage time, which secured a draw for the bees. The post Casper Schmeichel era begins for broad, whose team played with a clenched fist and a glass duel. I actually believe if one of these two clubs could be pulled into the relegation battle this season, they depleted Leicester with Pereira coolly out for 6 months. He just battled back from one Achilles injury, then went

"It work out for Leipzig for Adams? Well, because they got a lot of good players and Jesse marsh is no longer there. I think that is a good thing. I think it's a good sign you for lead to united, having said that, it's going to be difficult for taller Adams if they kind of sell them in as a Calvin Phillips replacement and then being an American following his dad, the Jess and march, the coach. That could be a challenge for him, but I think that is on the level that leads to united could attract players at the moment. There is a lot of things going on. It leads to united at the moment and Tyler Adams comes in, but a lot of players going out, so he's going to be in very interesting season for Lee's United States and JSON march. Is it fair to say it's going to be tough for him, Steve? I think Phil. Yeah. I mean, the fact that he couldn't get a regular game last season would suggest that what the question would be is he good enough for the Bundesliga. Right. And the answer would have to be considered on the games they played late 14 slots. The answer would have to be no. So what part of that means that he's capable of playing regularly and the Premier League? But that may seem a little harsh. He's not kicked a ball yet. Let's give him a chance, but on the face of it, it's going to be tough for him. Ali, we know you were teacher's pet when it came to Ziggy. Okay. Like that. Exactly. Do you think Jesse marsh is the man to get the best out of timer Adams? Well, you would have to imagine that he's going to give him every opportunity. But here's the thing, what's interesting about at least united Jesse marsh and what he's doing with the American players, Brandon aronson, and now Tyler Adams. There's a lot of people that are waiting to see how this goes. If he goes well, then all right, I'll go go USA. If it doesn't go well, then oh. Go, go, USA. Go, go. That way out the door USA. And it may be unfair, but it is the reality that if you're Jessie marsh, and you bring in Tyler Adams, it is because you fully trust that he can do a job. However, if he's exposed, if he doesn't do the job, if he doesn't fulfill the expectations, not only of Jesse Mars part of Leeds United as a whole, then both of them may just be in trouble. And of course he's leading leaving aside or be hoping to improve on last season and maybe finish above Borussia Dortmund. Dortmund team, meanwhile,

"Okay, roger, the skipping right past third place, we're going to go to the relegation battle now where leads in American manager Jesse marsh entered the day in the drop zone with a game against Brentford looming leads knew they had to better Burnley's result against Newcastle to survive and they only go and end up defeating the bees two one could result that thanks to a 94th minute winner from wake forest a Manhattan soccer club's finest chair. That coupled with Burnley's two one lost to pith castle means leads are Premier League next season rod what a job from Jesse marsh in Yorkshire. That did have a dog in this fight. I try and pretend that I'm objective and neutral. But I do want to start with Burnley because my goal, what a, what a roller coaster Burnley fans have ridden down the stretch here. The shot defenestration of Sean dyche a man himself who was dumped within minutes of declaring Everton didn't know how to win. And then the instant three victories and Mike never Michael Mike Jackson and it felt like they were safe at least two or three times, but at the very last, just a deflating unstoppable slump. And here, against Newcastle, who themselves, this is what made this so painful Newcastle were the ones who were the weakling getting sank kicked in their face on the beach over the first four months of the season. To meeting how they turned around because they're wearing so much Fitch rod. Possibly and, you know, $210 million Saudi makeover. Yeah, there's that. That could yeah, but we don't talk about that, because we don't like morals enough morals and football, but that's enough of you. Save that for your other podcast. Today in goody goodies. And they all know a muscle bodybuilding Newcastle. Here they rolled in, mercilessly, slapping over penalty, Callum Wilson, within 20 minutes, leads and got a penalty of their own within minutes, it would get worse for Burnley Callum Wilson finishing again after all the same max a man carved them open. And they Sergei knos nodded Oman equalizer for Brentford Burnley, cagan aboard, and in the death 94th minute some slop off a corner upstep quasi American, we claim him Jack Harrison, with a slap shot rifle town, Q Jessie marsh, dropping to his knees, as is assistant coaches piled on, limbs, a relegation dodging 17th placed the highest in American manager has ever finished in the Premier League in on the ten 46 years. Which I love. It's amazing. It's true. No, it is a kind of tell you why. It's so important for every single American couch who wants to follow Jesse's path, David, that he didn't fail. Yeah, no, I think that's important. I just am saying that the highest any American managers ever finish being 17th. But he didn't fail. I think that's huge. And the nature of his leadership, just the nature of the way he did it, and yes, I think got a little bit of fortune in Burnley's late late late season collapse, but it's going to be great to see Jesse marsh lead out leads into another Premier League season. And we'll talk about lead in one second. I do want to say farewell to Burnley, Mike, never Michael Jackson, interim manager, ashen phase three wins at 8 for him, good, but not good enough. And I felt sad for Burnley fans. I mean, more than sad, they're American ownership group. Have their team in an enormous financial bind, the money they borrowed to buy the clever leveraged buyout a reported 65 million, a huge chunk of which a huge chunk of which must now be repaid instantly upon relegation. They have no players out of contract. The future is going to be turbulent, which is an agony for a proud family club and really a terrible day for Dave fishwick's minibus rental. Yeah. That's what I was thinking about. What is this going to mean? He's going to have to rent a lot more mini buses. He's going to have to rent a lot of minivans. It's going to be a you've got a way days at what's a nearest team to Berlin. Away days to all of them or some other club that's on the ups. Leads. Finished equally shattered. God desperately, they just avoided second season syndrome. Somehow conceded 79 goals, but stayed up. And I'm so bloody happy for Jesse marsh. She's a wonderful human being. February 28th, he took over a shattered squad. Did just enough to revitalize him. At 1.25 points per game in the 12 games that he was in charge for .88 points bielsa had in his 26 in charge. This was just enough just enough. He inherited a shattered squad enormous injury list, including Patrick Bamford, out almost the whole time, Phillips down the stretch, the red cards just chaos at the end, and yet we live. Now, my mate Tom boger Tommy scoops immediately breaking news that are based Salzburg, U.S. men's national team attacker Brendan aaronson, slated to arrive in leads. God, this will be magnificent for American fans around 30 million Jesse can now plan with real-time, create the culture he wants to create an element road, and David, you said earlier, what celebratory scenes it leads in Everton so different than at arsenal and Liverpool qualified for Europe. I think about the Churchill quote nothing in life is so exhilarating as to be shot at without result. And I do think leads and Everton are both living proof of that and these are achievements. But it means nothing if they don't build on it and learn from it and come out next season because I don't think anyone in Leeds or anyone in Everton wants to go through again next season what they did this season. I feel the start, the start of next Premier League season, this just so poised. God bless Jesse marshy, essentially acted out a scene from season three finale of Ted Lasso a show which he hates comparisons to by celebrating in the locker room smashing down beers, telling his players it's the character of you guys. That's what got us here. As rafinha stood to his left and nodded as if he understood exactly what was going on. The only way it could have got more Assyrian is if rafinha reeled away and shouted. Football is life guys. But a quick word on Brentford chewing the song story of the season, Thomas Frank keeping up with 8 they are the championship level budget, incredible recruitment, the wild card pick up of Ericsson who singularly handled the drag them out of danger. From the relegation zone with joyous play, he's my player of the season also my guest on the men in blazers show this week. Now on peacock, watch the interview. It's life affirming what a human being. Will he stay David? Will he go? After speaking to him, I think he's generally torn between himself as a self described family, decision maker, which leads to Brentford and himself as an elite competitor. That's weird. There is another aspect in football roger, which tends to make a lot of decisions, which is bags full of cash. I'm sure that will make a difference as well. Come to Everton. We don't believe in that pink Christian. Okay, now to the remaining four games, which had considerably less at stake Crystal Palace, one Manchester United nil of 37th minute wolf Zaha goal condemns united to defeat under the steely gaze of new manager ETH who watched on from the stands united end the season in 6th place, but they are going back to Baku next season roger, AKA the Europa League. "Only one thing you need. The ESPN app, one app, one tab. Four nil as the messy bag two goals taking a seasonal total to 6, 6. But then it was before the game. But just kill your name. One is player of the year award, no surprise there. And gave us some news about his future or not. Yeah, he said that this is it now. He's decided almost. He said, almost almost decided and that we will know very soon. We asked him. Almost decided he's like being almost pregnant. You've either decided or you know, but because he said, yeah, he's decided and then after that he added Casimir in French, which is like almost, really. What? You have decided or you have not really almost decided. I think we know, I don't want to say because I think we know what's going to happen. Very, very soon now. He's going to announce it. And sticking with PhD guard with makes you happy, jijo Dana ruma was voted legally and goalkeeper of the year. Well done to him. And I guess we can say that it was minimalist since he only started 17 league games. We come in. This is stupid. You know what? Why don't you I'd love to know who the hell votes on this? The players. What would I do that the Muppet show of players? No. This is the same thing I have this disdain for the PFA award here in England is that it's completely stupid to give us the impress when the play against him 17 times. It's a player that sees an award, not a who impressed you most or who is the tallest Italian in legal. Half of a season. Oh my God. Ridiculous. Almost half a Killian with her. Eric has been released early from his job at iex. And you'll be getting to work straight away at Manchester United. I don't think he's getting a day off this summer. This is good news, right? So you pay for it? I think he's good news. He's making the right sending the right message. They still have to sort out for his backroom staff. Already I think in transfers, he wants to have a chat. And he's already talked about the dressing room, control of the dressing room. I suspect he knows that a lot of former managers have talked about that and could not handle it either. And he was also asked about the sharks, which is the English media. So I guess us too. And he said, I don't see any journalists sharks. Now in England, in the Netherlands. So good on him. I think if I'm not mistaken the last time, Manchester United had a Dutch coach and admittedly was after the world copy took a couple of weeks off, which is entitled to, but you know, Eric ten hog, Louis van, how two different people. Different different stuff. Pull Pogba's people, meanwhile, a meeting with Juventus today ahead of their game against Latino, so on Monday night garbage talk of a for you then. Yeah, obviously, minor island no longer with us, rafaella, pimenta, who was his business partner, is reportedly meeting in terrain. And I have lunch or whatever. There's a difference in expectation already in terms of salary, but he will be taking a pay cut. He's after four year deal. He seems committed. He's also going to talk to Paris Saint-Germain. That's right. Apparently. I think if he's fit and he's committed, he's a tremendous option for you of his midfield, even though he's an older player. 100%. I'm with you. Draw one, one, which shoots both sides, says both have qualified for the champion Z, but Jules the story isn't the game. It's Luis Suárez saying farewell to the Wanda metropolitano. Yeah, he said he would leave the club of course after the last game of the season. There was a lot of tears. There was a big banner saying you wanted to championship, of course, last season where you had that first incredible you did of the season. Wonderful. And then our friends said Lowe who spoke to him for his spin after the game said, so what's next now? You're gonna stop and Luis Liza, what? Stop, what do you mean? No way, no chance, so let's see why he goes, he wants to stay in Europe, nothing very enter Miami. Steven Gerrard. Getting the boys back together with you. How about that? How do you even think about that? Amazing. That could be great. Another goodbye God, Napoli beat Genoa three nail and Lorenzo in senior scores and says farewell to his city and the stadium Maradona. He had this big trophy that was almost taller than him. Yeah, but he's a very small man. Yeah, it was weird. He ran out of letter. It was touching. He's been a great servant to the club. Sorry about the circumstances in which he leaves. There were kind of funny too, because the ultra is they were chanting against Saudi Arabia's club president. So what they did was they simply cranked up the noise of whistling and booing. Instead of the actual insults towards deloreans, which was a form of free expression. While it's nothing good has said as Everton, let's slip a two one lead, go down to ten men and lose at home to Brentford. Three, two. They're still not safe and Frank Lampard is angry. Very angry, and there was even a second sending off. We sent off late in the game, crazy, crazy game, also accusation from Brentford players of abuse with a family's racist abuse. So not a good look at all. Liz need an injury time goal from Pascal struck to avoid defeat at home to brighten, Gabriel of the relegation zone just for now, but things still look tough for Jessie marsh. They do look tough leads just the one goal left. It's Brentford away. They can win it, and still go down. That's the reality. Burnley, villa way, Newcastle at home, and of course Everton. Palace at home, which I think if they stay up is where they're going to stay up. And arsenal and arsenal away. It's going to go down to the water. It's going to be tough. I still think leads can stay up, but obviously they need all three points against Brentford and Thomas Frank. Jules, do you want to lament the fact that they manage just one shot on target or celebrate the fact that they finished second? It was terrible. Let's say they were already on holidays, no problem. Yeah, the second they were 9th when chavi arrived, he changed a lot of things, not always grateful and great entertainment. Of course, I give you that, but the progress was still massive. So well done to them. By the way, he said, oh, we qualified for the Spanish Super Cup. Well done, show me. Yeah, well done. Fairways in dormant two were early harland and sporting director Michael zork. I said goodbye in the two one win over erta, gab. We took plenty about Holland's who went partying in his trucks with after the game as well. So I'm going to ask you a basil. Michael zorg joined the club in 1978. That's crazy. Something mad like that. Look, I think he's going to be, I've been critical of some of the smartest guys in the room. Yeah, look at all these young pages we get. We sell in, but let's not forget. Michael zorich, in addition to being a phenomenal footballer in federal servants, the club. He also brought clock to the club, and he also built the side that reached the Champions League Final. And one tooling titles under Jürgen Klopp. I think it was time for the club to evolve into something else. Joel, you called it. 9 wins out of 9 for Monaco, a hat trick for something yet. And they're up to second because Marseille somehow lost her ran to nail. I guess both of these teams have their European places locked up, but here's my question. Will beg yet or win the scoring title too. He's won behind killion. One behind Katie and with so much momentum as well. I'm in PhD play mets at home. So you could expect kiran to score 5, which for what could be his last game for PhD. Yeah, so much momentum for him. Incredible what climate is doing at the moment? Marseille and the huge pressure because even the third place. And rent could come in and maybe they'd have to lose the final one. Well, I know, but anything in Marseilles they've lost 22 points this season already. So it's crazy crazy. That last day in ligand was going to be fascinating. Roma had one but venezia and I currently 6 in the table gab, but there could be 7 bytes tomorrow since florentina played tonight on Monday night gab, they finished 7 last season and reached the European league semifinal under Paolo fonseca, Marino does have the European conference League final, of course, to look forward to, but how would you assess his first season at the club? Okay, so first of all, Jules about this game. And I'm not joking. Roma hit the woodwork four times. They had 46 shots on goal to four. I think we could almost count this as a W yeah, definitely. That said, and I know Marino defines himself by titles, titles this, right? And big standing in blah blah blah. All right, so it's not gonna look good in the end because they spend a ton of money in the summer and so on. However, I don't judge based on that. I judge based on are you building something there? I don't use, if I've ever used Mourinho's own parameters, I wouldn't see any reason to justify the progress they made the season. But I don't use Mariners. I use cats.

"City, a Rodri header, a tidy finish from the Dutch clog of Nathan arche Gabriel Jason's 5th goal in his last two league games and a piledriver from the gout written foot of 93 year old fernandinho do the business here. City looked their enigmatic best despite having the most on the nose third jerseys in all of football leads, meanwhile, slip behind Burnley on goal difference just two points clear of the drop. God bless Jessie marsh. His team hovering just above the relegation zone, but the approach this game with relish, calling it the ultimate test that this team were going to quote go for. I love this quote. He said, either get three points or learn some important lessons and I love that approach to football I love it to life. City he knew would be reeling in the changes. They have the hellish prospect of their return to Madrid on Wednesday. To really focus on no KDB. And even though they won the reverse fixture 7 zero leads to go for it in the outset, a massive blow, despite losing Cooper before kick-off. Leads had the best early chance Rodrigo in on goal cancele slipped, but chance blowing and city recovered started to assert themselves from there. And really turn their early dominance into goals, Foden, and swinging a free kick for Rodri to flick on into the right of the net leading. This is what's astonishing about Manchester City, the variety of the ways they can hurt opponents, they leading 17th set piece goal on the season pet praise this son, postgame for the assist. He said I'm going to give you a secret, the set piece is about the taker, the taker is the most important thing. And Phil was fantastic. Now his set pieces were incredible. I had led to led to another goal also. Leads to the punch on the chin, they charge forward, with really an impressive intensity living out the pre game words of their coach. They stretched like a city at times. They charged at them like Dothraki blood riders charging into battle through the grasslands of essos. God bless Jesse marsh crying them on in his gray skinny jeans, which is quite a look. I can't remember which one of you you described it as divorced dad trying to pick up chicks or these kids weekend football games. He urged his players on really sheets of burr hole to Jesse kept unfurling chess bounce passes as his players were around him trying to set up speedy throw ins. Does make me realize David, American coaches, they do have one advantage, the basketball experience does give them an edge on their Euro counterpart. Yeah, I don't know how much basketball experienced the bounce passes. We see from Jesse marsh and the behind the back passes we see from Greg bahal to really belie. Ellen rode, it did became a bear pit, Jack Grealish run around, trying to beat a Leeds player into pulling his hair. Think he just walks around and going, pull my hair, pull my hair, but I've got to say, the whole spectacle was not really helped by the Leeds fans chucking paper balls at Jack Grealish whenever they could, Bollywood a wrote that Grealish probably thought he was being given a victory parade, but I've got to wonder David. What legion united staff person thought it was a good idea to give actual leads fans cardboard en masse to make a collective pregame sign? Had they never been to a leads match before? I completely disagree. This was, this was a fantastic spectacle. It was one of the highlights. This would make a men in blazers TV show opening. It was fantastic stuff, brilliant idea. By whichever lead staff member came up with that. What you think it's like if Nickelodeon started a broadcast a Premier League, they give the lead fans slime guns. It was wonderful. It was wonderful, entertaining visual stuff that couldn't have happened to a better player in Jack Grealish. City who had played 9 games in April remember some brutal schedule, steady things, second goal, set piece again, an immense relief, aka volleying smartly, fine finish. It was Benzema esque, even though the defending was Everton S city, then put the game away late and then some Jesus is 6 Premier League goal in just four games, a late fernandinho banger, really aided the goal difference. Now Liverpool just won ahead in their favor and city 16 away games unbeaten, lost one of their last 24 Premier League games, clean sheets in their last 5, which is genuinely mind bending. Pep reported to over greed in principle to have extended a deal to keep him at the Etihad until 20 25. It wasn't the greatest performance. It didn't have to be pepper admitted postgame that they suffered a lot in the first half, the score flattering for goals on the next year of 2.5 day though, but they go to Madrid, knowing that they have to face Newcastle, wolves, West Ham, and then well played Premier League scriptwriter Stevie G's Aston Villa on the last day. Where will they drop points, David? Liverpool play Tottenham, Aston Villa, Southampton and walls. Well, I think the West Ham game. Away at London Stadium is the hardest one on paper, but the Premier League is odd. Right now, you know, the bookies have them ahead because it's only four games to go and they're one point ahead. But I would say the West Ham game is the hardest. The Leeds fans God bless made their team proud singing to the end. The noise. The joy. Even though they'd watch their team get dropped for Neil, these are proper football people and they know that their team was facing one of the greatest ever to play the game and that though they lost this battle there are arsenal Chelsea Brighton Brentford still to come. And Jesse marsh David, who'd made American history in the game by becoming the first United States manager ever to be yellow carded in the Premier League. We're now a proper football nation, Smithsonian, get on that. Anyway, mosh walked around the stadium. At the final whistle as the crowd applauded, applauding back and then pointing at the aggressively in like a quasi chicken dance, which I think I think the NBC show kind of misread immediately, they thought he was celebrating a four zero loss. What did you make of it? Because to me, we say you you you, we need you, you will keep us up, which is which is very Bundesliga meets Jürgen Klopp meets Ted Lasso. What do you think about it? Because he did get a lot of crap..

"10% off their first month at better help dot com slash MIB that's better, help, dot com slash MIB again, better help dot com slash MIB. Okay, roger, now to the portion of the table where the bums are squeaky and the naps are sad. We're starting with leads to Norwich one American manager Jesse marsh gets his first Premier League victory in a drama soaked relegation 6 pointer for the ages leads went ahead on 14 minutes thanks to a Rodrigo strike leads, then had chance after chance to increase that lead but couldn't convert in the 91st minute, Kenny McLean looked to have snatched a point for the canaries, but just three minutes later, the 94th that substitutes scouse bowling ball Joe gellar latched onto a rafinha pull back to deliver a massive three points for leads, they moved four points clear of the relegation zone. Jessie marsh quickly learning how unforgiving Premier League management can be two games, two losses, the second, a three zero defeat. Against Aston Villa, which gave the more unforgiving impatient leads fans should we say, permission to, you know, forget the injuries, the thin squad, the not a problems left by BLC and prematurely declare that Jesse was quote a nice man. It over his head. So things were looking dark going into this one. Against Norwich, who were I think on their fourth or 5th must win of 2022, I think they'd lost all the other. I thought you were just like the fourth or 5th manager. Every week, I must win, but it's a sign of how crap everyone is at the bottom of the table that they do get another bus to win after losing their last must win. And neither team would win a game since January lead to barely scored. It was incredible for them to Patrick Bamford back at least for a half. He occupied the Norwich back line till the confused by his offside position for the opening goal when Rodrigo sprang on to some second ball slot, washed it home. Lee had a lead, but then blue chants after chance have to chance to put the game away Rodrigo streak, even bam bam until the 91st minute. Oh God, this hurt Timo Pookie crossed. Kenny McLean poked home from close range. One one. Jesse marsh on the sideline seemed to buckle in agony the fear, the sickness. Did you not think David? The Ellen road faithful were about to give out some anti American levels of abuse on a Chris army and scout. This was going to be a bad look, but they say a week is a long time in football, but three minutes are also quite a long time. Yeah, football can be a cool game, but it can also bring and bearable lightness of being 93rd minute on the counter 19 year old Joe gelhardt is only trotted on as a marsh substitute two minutes earlier finished sharply, joyfully, even the goalkeeper charged full length of the field to celebrate with full throated wonder limbs and what a moment they vote for Jesse marsh. Yeah, fantastic and his joy on the sideline evident and celebrating with his coaching staff and fantastic for him. He'll never forget his first. Cruel for Norwich, we should say who did deserve something from this for just if nothing else that hanging on in there, they sell a Pookie actually smashed the ball against the keeper's face from close range even after it was too warm. My God, but we got bigger American soccer fish to fry. Jesse marsh. Let's give him his full name when he wins. Reseed Wisconsin's Jesse marsh. I mean, as you say, the gent celebrated. As if he just let the U.S. men 2D World Cup final. The relief for him personally must have been unreal and all around the ground Leeds fans. So it'll lead to God bless the day more than any other fan base in the modern day. They understand that the point, a team can be a trauma, grandparents, her grandchildren, strangers hug strangers, hands, touching hands, touching me, touching you, walls up next for leads. Let's just say the damned united remake, the American damned united remake is got a week off. Let's hope it has a whole season off, they vote, but my God, at least for one weekend, that damn united remake has been postponed. Yeah, the next one's an interesting result. Southampton won Watford two in a relegation battlefield with ultra modern MMA grapplers, uncle Roy, he's going old timey bare knuckle boxing, his orange pick up a massive three points thanks to a pair of goals from cucho Hernandez Watford, move up to 18th place. It's just goal difference that is keeping them in the drop zone. Massive game for Watford last chance saloon territory. And I'm not saying Southampton are on their holidays already, but that Watford opening goal accounted at least four giveaways by Southampton's goalkeeper and defenders within 20 seconds to set it up. Kucho finally pointing them out of their measuring for the second one for goal, you know, they actually had to create that for themselves, cute show again with the finish. And the third straight loss for suddenly erratic Ralph Hampton who were looking like a poor man's spurs, they faced man city in the FA Cup next weekend, good luck with that one lad's Watford though day though. Now trail evidence solely on goal difference. Suddenly they have a attacking threat and covered a Roy Hodgson miracle. Could it be on the break? It's got to be said. The next game April 2nd comes at an unforgiving time as does the fact that it's against Liverpool. Another massive result in the context of the relegation zone Brentford two Burnley nail a game that bled into the 85th minute knotted at zeros when the Maestro of middle fart, Christian Eriksen, sent a teasing ball to the back post for Ivan Toney to head home and give the bees the lead. Tony added a second from the spot deep into injury time, his 5th goal in just two games, roger, Thomas Frank's side, go 8 points clear of the drop, Burnley. Meanwhile, lose their third in a row, there are point from safety, but they do have games in hand. This honestly ranks as one of Everton's results of the season. A bone they God bless him, but only won three games this season, but one of them had been against Brentford. But there are very different proposition there with Christian Eriksen in the team is guile. It's touch it's poor life. To the bees, a double resurrection of types Burnley. They were robust in this one. They were organized as it says on the tin. Jay Rodriguez hit the bar with a stonker from Steph Curry range, but then Christian Eriksen stepped up his play, picked out the head of Ivan Toney with a left footed killing cross of a master archer really is incredible to see him bounding around the beaming on a football pitch again. Tony the second from the penalty spot in the 94th to wrap it up, his penalties, honestly, have saved rent for this season, Burnley, starting to use up their storehouse of gaming hands and have nothing to show for it. With Manchester City on April 2nd, their next league game. Okay, Everton nil, wolves won. Your mob lost one nil to visiting Wolverhampton and the game's lone goal came from the head of former Liverpool academy product Connor Cody. You've lost four straight. You're out of the relegation zone on goal difference alone. You do have games in hand..

"Now, but the fact that these struggles so much this season. When you think about what I'll be wanted and that is they wanted this return to as they called it classic RB football, which was high pressing, intensity, the other end of the pitch. That didn't represent a continuation of what had been happening under Julian nagelsmann. They'd evolve their style of play. They were playing more possession based football mixed in with that kind of pressing. And the problem is, Jesse marsh was brought in along those lines and the squad that he had had grown used to playing this nagelsmann way of play. So what happened was Mars tried to implement that old style, the players looked confused. He then went back to trying to play more of the way that they had done under Julian nagelsmann. That had some success. And then he got continually caught in confusion, I think. And the players didn't know what they had to do in the end. And I think that, sure, it doesn't reflect well on Jessie marsh, but the biggest, I think victim of all of this, it's probably the wrong word. The biggest culprit in all of this is like 6 CEO Oliver mints left, whose decision it was to bring in marsh because it just didn't fit what was needed for the situation. So I feel sorry for Jeffrey marsh, especially being sacked when you're in coronavirus isolation at home. That's not a particularly nice scenario for anyone to be here. But I think the ultimately he wasn't the right guy for the.
