New York Yankees miss chances, fall to Jays in opener

"Let me take you to another one yesterday yankees and bluejays on a chilly day. The opener a yankee stadium. And here's the highlights from this one. Bottom of two one. On for gary sanchez and gary. Sanchez has left the ballpark sanchez. The first yankee catcher to homer on opening day in eleven years jens have a two one league garrett cole now doing the pitching and not well oscar hernandez oh no doubt about that drills one the left in the six that ties the game two and garett cold not pleased bottom nine. Same score winning. Run it second. Aaron judge of the plate. Can he be the hero on opening day. That's the question. The answer is no judge. One for five struck out twice. We're going to extras top of the ten runners. At second randall. Grischuk pool rightfielder. Aaron judge can't get it no. We can't sixty five percent was the hit probability on this. It's an rbi double. The run comes around to score and that would be the difference. Blue jays win it three two in extras on opening day. And so back to you jessica mendoza. What's your number one takeaway from the ball game yesterday in the bronx gary sanchez. I mean you've got to remember a lot of people. Were watching last year gary sanchez. You didn't think he was eating a start or be in this lineup for the yankees. Because how bad help awesome. He was offensively last year. Being one forty seven six four strikeouts tech eight teen walks. His biggest thing coming in was to be able to sit back behind the baseball. That home run. You could use feel the pressure. Come off of him. Why because there's so many other guys in this lineup. That when they struggle. It's up to gary sanchez. And he's the difference maker to me because you know when it comes down to aaron judge who also struggled with this game carlos stanton both of those guys are prone to injuries. They're not going to be in this lineup throughout the entire season and to the big piece. That's missing because by the way it is world series or bust for the yankees team. Gary sanchez has to step up. I know it's only one game but that run was huge

"At this point, and he gets the missus because of the late movement he has on it, but I want to swing and a line drive that's a base hit into leftfield. Follicle. Pick it up there. No stops at second and the Braves Aaron business back to back singles, Both of those hard hit there were two on and nobody out. It'll bring up Dansby Swanson. Dodgers leading it three Nothing. We're in the top half of inning number two. The roof is open. Low life feel John shall be Jessica Mendoza and Buster owning All these likes the breaking ball, especially on the left side. That's a pitch that he's hit well, just under 300 against lefties on it Hit that he got on Bueller in Game one was the curveball. Does it again Game six. It is Game six is my fingers. Here's the pitch, and that's a little bit low ball wanted. Dansby Swanson. Was just two for 19 in this Siri's with nine strikeouts, right sticker like Tio. Get him going again. Part of the reason the Braves was such a potent offense because you had guys like Swanson to supplement the big boppers Hakuna Freeman Ozuna pitch. That clips the outside corner for a strike. It's 11 Dansby Swanson thinking that one was outside. Here's a kid who grew.

"A ground ball. Fair ball inside the third base bag down the line in the score is all Zona all these racing for third he's coming into played all these slides in. It's a two run double dance be swats in with a big insurance head. And it's all Braves. Now is they leave this 151? Yeah. Atlanta with a four run lead at that point there big bat on the night, Marcel Ozuna. Here's a swing and a high fly ball drilled the center Bellenger back turning and looking here and Ozuna makes his way around the bases. Second homer of the night. And the big bear mixing it up. Braves Get that run back. It's eight to big bear with two home runs for its four knocked in Braves tattoo. The Dodgers tend to go up in the serious three games to 11 win from the fall Classic postgame extra comes courtesy of our team. Game's over. But there's still time for extra innings. John shall be alongside Jessica Mendoza Braves beat the Dodgers tend to take a 31 Siri's lead in this NLCS. Jess. I guess the place you start Dave Roberts leave Clayton Kershaw in too long. Absolutely. And I thought it was a no brainer. Once he had faced Freddie Freeman with lefty on lefty, knowing the Marcel Zuna and hit the home run on his at bat Prior, you go to the bullpen. So many good arms in.

"Would do on a fan Saturday afternoon snow is subsided now wha when we give you the weather forecasts I'm not looking at some doppler on my computer whatever else I'm doing like Gary data around looking over my shoulder it was coming down hard about twenty minutes ago and it is now officially stopped it could be coming down hard here in southern Manhattan in twenty minutes from now we don't know but there is some snow out there so if you're on the road take it easy might not be as knowing where you're at right now it could come down any second out so go slow keepers tune would try and help you get where you're going eight seven seven three three seven six six six six solely for multiple fires first day a style Hey Jodie ally hi I saw that you cheating with a bang and the drums with the you know the fine tuning everything bad is that in every respect it helps in comparison to the possibility and I would think probability of the electronic stuff involved I mean there was there was tense about that from the ballot who would I like to call a bit of a flake German POWs shop guy he's been talking about that since we last year by has so instead of you know the thing with with out to back Boris can save all the one that he shot his white shirt ripped off one delta we can say his wife was upset that he had a certain thought they both full of it I don't I don't you know I don't care and maybe I'm just looking for everything but that's pretty it's pretty nasty and pretty Lee suggested to me that the possibility one on and use that for cheating the way they did seventeen quite fine tuning it in eighteen and knowing that the room is a starting do they stop cold what they say we gotta get even better if this if for a penny in for a pound that's what I think they do that now if I was speaking about the I come out of I am in September for three games and I just thought all three games to the Yankees but I would only need three pages one per game when they suspended me after the first game I'd keel I hit the guide the next night thank god I got to take the top three bad first guy the first night second guys the second night and by the third night they'd be playing all the minor league because they wouldn't take a chance on it but these guys if we sell sell sell we know you're a yeah Die Hard Yankee fan and more power to you wait wait a call of bell Tran goal who was indicted enough for the Mets to think we have to fight this guy immediately where did he go after B. in the ring leader of the white Sox the Astros in is cheating scandal I'm sure I know you went to Yankee yeah okay so you blame the call of was able to quit cold Turkey as soon as he rejoined the Yankees in the Bronx I'd like to think catchment with twenty plus years it's not going to jeopardize his reputation and he's not gonna crap all over the Yankees name and encourage but I'm sure he's no I know he did not well rated for a ride George Strait is very right you do that will he come on so test resigned on two thousand five jasmine said I'm leaving if I don't get control that was after George Bush may rise and he told a ride you opt out of this because they had three years come and still the same money but he just won the expensive you opt out you've gone and what he did was when the opt out Texas is paying eleven million a year for me is eight nine and ten so he calls me and he's not only a ten year extension that Hank gave it well he cost another thirty four everybody but Brian catchment stop it please George Steinbrenner didn't care he signed a cheater his sudden being carried out by Brian catching you've been is bastion of society is entire time run in the New York Yankees he's still there only staying one on everyone's dad so upset by it and I came by the wanted packed up and left no he is the thing that really surprises me through this the banging of the garbage cans is is I would say I would put on the primitive category on how to do this I mean it's so unsophisticated that once you think that a manager in the other dugout or Major League Baseball players talk among the souls all the time around the batting cage everybody's got friends on different teams don't you think somebody would've said during the course of the season Hey when we were used to last week the banging of a garbage can every time you know we we were playing defense you around the field how come nobody thought twice about the sound of a garbage can being a banging on the garbage can come from the home team dug out all right Sir what the hell's going on and the Astros have good teams and they get good crowds and they are allowed but you can't tell me that one night they didn't quite packed the house and by accident they fell behind three nothing in the first inning there started a national crowd isn't quite pumped up yet and you could never heard something like that in the first inning he wants a Yankees complaining during the post season this year this was whistling coming from the astral okay whistling probably other ways that day no but I'm strands for information to the batter right no I'm saying if you can hear the whistling then you're here in the garbage cans being hit with a baseball bat I would think that's a little bit louder okay and what why why didn't anybody think it's kind of weird you know the catchers how many feet from from the home team dug out his hearing a banging at the garbage cans and doesn't say what is going on here I did not attend any games in the postseason inside a lavishly tells MC of baseball player and and they just decided to look the other way because they might have been doing some wind and I don't know how you feel about this and I do want to get a couple more calls in here but I became a side story in a pretty big stock side story it started want to go in and it got re kindled again this week when Jessica Mendoza Matt adviser made a foolish statement on ESPN you got a problem with my criers no not at all not a big deal I got a problem with the Astros they are really now they may be very sophisticated they found a way to relay information and put cameras in the best place to get ahead of the game if you could admire someone put their skill in cheating I admired the Houston Astros but I'm also going to call on the dumbest group of individuals I've ever seen in my guy leave your team he had been in on the cheating he knows full well that you're cheating he comes back to play in your building and you're going to try and cheat against them and you don't think he's going to say anything his number one no we always do with themselves then family then we can but debate country at all it's unlikely he was taking part in a cheating because he himself would have benefited from it you know we got to know well he did no that's why he blew the whistle so we benefited from it and then they want to try to cheat on him if you're gonna do what would someone leave to demand the return your stadium you got to be smart enough to go okay guys good they'll be no garbage banging drums isn't that exactly what happened with Bella check and the jets in the first game of the seven CZS mangy comes from New England he he left there after the five season he knows exactly what Belichick is doing videotaping the defensive coordinator sending in the signals the jets a basically sending messages to the patriots don't do this in our building we know what you're doing and then he's brazen enough to do it in the jets building and that's why they deserve to get going to say what do you have somebody to get caught I I'm pretty certain that Bella checkers a lot smarter and a better a more of a can I ever then anybody in Houston Natchez from top to bottom and he was a smart enough to say okay let's not do it against the jets because the guy in the opposite sideline used to work for me and he knows exactly everything I've done so we got to keep his mouth shut I'm not trying to cheat again did invite made maybe he got like that was a day you guys stay in the hotel to get smart spent the night in a hotel that I'd like to do brain surgery the next day the advertisement okay Isaac next to Gary Myers for ten hours so maybe now double check would be smart to a steel signs previously as he did but he wasn't smart enough that I did in part a lot always been you know the money are you today I did I'm not surprised your mark from buffalo up on a fan Ellen show marked are you guys doing with I don't know why do I have the room for the two most inept franchises in the entire history of the sport with the Knicks and the met so here's my thing I don't think the match being completely honest with us when they tell us that they didn't really have anything please when they told the I guess maybe we can find out about the what was going on with the article they deferred to make a week before the due to enter the I'd replication I don't buy it for a moment I would think that the chance that would come like what apple cream on it wasn't as much of him doing the wrong thing with will green light with the fact that he lied to the chiefs about what happened was what a little go and almost like maybe because both are wasn't completely honest when they did after battle by for a moment they didn't have a conversation with them even though major league with reading on this but I don't think you should hide anyway I agree with you don't you I think was a bad hi this he needed an established a manager would be to the mothers of what shoulder or or a dusty Baker I got your point I know you going I want to get Gary's expertise here because here's the one reason why I I kind of disagree Tamarkin Gary connected is better than an exact if it was based on a lie there just annoyed that doctor and lie to me as much as they did and to mark is right they had asked him that question he said no I did not end up I know nothing sergeant Charles and then it comes out that he knew who I was involved in was the ringleader and they are prepared because he blatantly lied to him if that's the case and your market is suggesting does not Brody bandwagon and have somebody in the media then you can go to and go listen this is off the record by a yeah we we ask Carlos and he he looked us right knee I indeed not and you let it get out without attaching your name to it if you're the general manager the mat so that the information is imparted to the fan base state yeah this guy looked as right now I am lied to us well I I think the problem is the timing you got a place that story before you do the conference call because you you can't you can't go on a conference call and deny six different ways because he was asked a question at least six times and each time they denied speaking to him about it so then you can come out after and then leak a story they know he lied to us then you look like idiots I think you have to leave that story ahead of time that is why I don't date and then the case and then and then they can say well we're not going to get into the specifics of what the conversation was about I don't know what it is I don't know why the mess wouldn't come clean on Carlos lying to them because by saying they didn't speak to him the only one that really looks bad here is van wagon and will pop right day to day if that well you can take that Beltre and looks bad because he did what he did well Jim I'm saying in a bill trend looks horrible under any circumstances I'm just saying in this process will come will comes out of it Mike for Carroll wrote a great column in the post you know how can Brody not approaching Beltran in the two months forget about the interview okay because that was before the story came out no just rumors at that point but once the story came out and bill travels or your employee for two weeks how do you go to months well you know this investigation is going on I'm not sick calls down the office and say we don't want to find out from the report from the commissioner's office we want to hear directly from you what happened and if you told the truth in the commission what light on him or didn't even mention him then the Mets can go on and and they had they know the truth but it's not out publicly but to to say you didn't talk to him I mean they're taking all the bolts now for being impotent and I don't know that the match one to take all the bullets.

"What he stunk. So that did not work out. So well, then you have Jessica Mendoza being hired by the Mets. She will be a baseball operations advisor Boone was asked. If he's got any issues with that. I'm sure it won't be that big of an issue. Reveal too many secrets anyway. So. I'm not I'm not too worried about it. We'll see we'll see what it's like something. I can get on her about. All right. Well, let's just say she s Aaron. You know in a pre game meeting or something like that who's going to be your fifth starter who looks good. And he gives you two players that nobody knows we're really high in those two guys we think maybe they could do something. And then all of a sudden in the next season. They don't make the forty man roster for whatever reason they're exposed the Mets grabbed them because of that conversation. That's the problem. I guess I feel like there's a problem there. But what about the Iran Iraq? I'm just saying like anybody Aaron Boone about Iran Iraj, a special adviser here. He knows everything about your team. Then he's going on Sunday night baseball broadcasts n FOX do. You have any concerns about that? Anybody asked him about that? I I would think they'd just weird deal. Man. I I wonder if major league baseball has a problem with it. I mean, I guess not. I mean, they rods for doing this for a couple of years. Now, this is the second year doing why he goes down there and he works with the players during spring training. Does he not yet special adviser? He actually puts the uniform on doesn't he some days? I've seen him in the uniform. Yes. But it's the same title special advisor to the general manager same exact, well here was the broad stir. What is her job exactly.

"Highly likely that. Yeah. Season. Yeah. No. He says team will figure it out. We'll be covered and feel like. The guys that you would consider are six seven starters and things like that. We feel like we're in good shape there. I think Jonathan is throwing today in spring training. Now there was a lot of those season. So there was a lot of conversation. Another Oreo make you feel back a lot of conversation, and we'll get to Jessica Mendoza in a moment. But that's not the only bit of news that has to crossover between ESPN and major league baseball CC's Tabatha. We'll have a new job during the season. He will work for that network. Here's bone hopefully, find something find a little miniature find something that he likes to do when he is finished with the game. And so he will try I guess he's going to be a contributor. I don't know if he's going to write or brought them exactly what his responsibilities how about afternoon radio. Mean he does a podcast with Ryan Ruko. I believe right now, he's going to be on a bunch of radio shows so part of it, right? He's going to be on heard him. And he he's a fan of other sports too. Which would. So he could be could probably do it. I'm sure he wanted to do it. So you find that to be a distraction at all well not during the season during the season. You know, I know that these are just bits and pieces. These are going to be on his off days and things like that. So it's not gonna be that big of a deal to me that is not a conflict of interest because many athletes have radio shows that they call into your jets and the giants and he's just doing it with the SPN on a bigger platform. That's all very good point. You have to meet the Braves five one of their home run for Aaron judge. Aaron Hicks remains out with the sore. Back cardinals today. "You can enjoy the signature hot towel finish free of charge with every haircut. Now, you said that somebody else's upset over the Lakers not making the playoffs, by the way. Are you you give if it's championship or bust, even if they made the playoffs going to the finals, right? I think we could probably get a good week or two of ratings out of it. Right. Well, and plus it's fun. Yeah. And it's product right for us. That's why I want him to make the playoffs, and here's a back to your old thing. So you always say you're getting better getting worse. It would mean they were getting better here. Here's the thing that that. I I read a piece on five thirty eight. So the re the value of the playoffs is two sides money to the media partners huge. So in other words, the first round of the playoffs. Well, the the local media partners get to play that game doesn't get carried on that killers national in the second round as opposed to local goes, national exclusive. It goes national in the first round to. But argh aims. It's just straight cash. Roomy straight cash. Yeah. But that's about it. Randy moss. That's lot of cash for. Yeah. For their brand for their TV deal for their radio deal. We need them in the playoffs. Whoa. What this is surprising. Jessica Mendoza has been named a baseball operations advisor for the Mets. Guess she. Did she staying son staying, yes, she's she's not leaving. So Mets games. That would be. We're not doing Mets game. She's to do. She's an actual baseball adviser for Brody van wagon. Right. But I'm just saying if Sunday night baseball features the Mets she's still doing the game. It's a we're it that is already been wagon. He brought an allied or John Franko. And now Jessica Mendoza as like senior advisors, but she's can't continue on Sunday baseball. All right. You're not gonna believe I'm gonna say this. Yeah. So much higher..

"On the fan at eight seven seven three three seven sixteen sixty six. So the Mets today announced that they have hired. Jessica Mendoza to be another special adviser for them in the front office. And of course, she's going to continue to do Sunday night. Baseball similar to how the Yankees have a ride set up to do that for them. In addition to his role as a broadcaster as well. I think that she is incredibly smart. And I think she's got a great baseball mind. And I I am never against having too. Many smart people in the room. Let's be honest up for the match. Okay. This is all a lot and not just Mendoza gian-franco yesterday. L lighter yesterday and bringing them back. It's great thing to do reconnecting with your roots? Getting doc Gooden back in the mix. Bringing in all of your reading all kinds of features about Guttridge, whatever the kids. It was twenty two years old or whatever he has Allard Baird all the analytics professionals. This just feels like to be you bring all these people in. And I am grouping them all together. Let's be clear politically, correct individuals all of them together. What we are turning this into a don't look behind the curtain to what this team actually is. Okay. They have done some things they are better than they were a year ago. But I just feel like the Mets are are so concerned about being able to put out the positive social media clip or or the off-field story. That's neat. You know, the the idea that we can draw some attention away from what is actually going to be this season, which may be better. But I don't want to read about all the positive story lines before they even thrown a pitch in the regular season. Because of all these different moves that they have made. And I think frankly that they're trying to draw your attention away from what's how good they're going to be. First of all, I okay. So one thing on that. If you think that just a hiring of Jessica Mendoza is going to cover up if the Mets go out and have a crappy may know and have a crappy June again, there's no hiding from that there's no refuge. When the team is losing. So this is this to me first of all as a Mets fan. And I and a woman second this is probably like some of the best news. I've heard in a long time, and I'll tell you why first of all it's the to your point Carlin. You can never have enough smart voices in the room, and I don't have to go through the amount of its stacks and stacks of data that show that just by having one female voice around house, it organization from fortune five hundred companies to and maybe sports teams now too. And I think that would be a great thing you've seen other women who've been in high profile positions who have succeeded, and it's not even like she's not going to be the desist in general manager. She's going to be a consultant. So why not have? A smart voice in the room. And then I think the there is no part of the Mets organization right now. That should avoid scrutiny to the nth degree. There is not one part of the whether it be on the field off the field behind the scenes, how they do every single thing that the Mets that I wouldn't sit there and say, you know, why are we say what a woman thinks about this. Why don't we see what somebody else thinks about this? You know, we talk about women's voices. It doesn't have to be women. How about just some diversity? And I'm not just saying this for the Mets I'm saying this for everybody this helps and the Mets also interviewed Qiming. Yup. When they were looking for general manager, I think that it's smart to at least try to get these other voices in the room. And as I said as a Mets fan, I and as a woman as a woman second, I absolutely love it. Now, here's the thing though. Hey, rod doing it with David Ross doing it for the Chicago Cubs and also working for ESPN. I mean, what are we really what were you really expecting from a rod when he was on the broadcast last year. Did you expect him to be giving you the inside scoop on the Yankees? No, what were you expecting because people are talking about a conflict of interest. Now. That's crap. I mean, this is this is already happened. Why shouldn't Jessica Mendoza get to do this? If a Rod's able to do it if David Ross is able to do it, and we can go to other sports, and I don't know the problem with her doing it. I have a problem from a met standpoint as far as what you're getting on broadcast. If you think for a minute. That you are getting everything that's going on with the team from even the teams owned broadcasters. There's so much that's covered up. You don't even know. I mean once you have to you'll never get the true story of what's really going on in the clubhouse who hate to. Who's who's really, you know? Trying to hook up with his girlfriend and all that stuff that goes on. You'll never find out all the truth about this. When you were playing, there's the you know that there were safe people, you could go to work and ask you a tough question. Right. Absolutely. You'll you see them in the hallways. You know, who you can trust who you can't trust who's gonna protect you who's gonna protect the teaming who's trying to sensationalize things to make sure that they can get back paid hit two clicks on on on the site. And you'll so you kind of go to them in the organization directs you to people that you can trust. They they let you know. That's all about the pre interview interview. Sometimes you want to get a message out, and then some people use we call them CIA, you know, some people. Yeah. That was strategically leaking stuff on purpose and that happens too. And it happens in every sport everywhere. And you might even hear it on a broadcast if somebody wants it out there. But also here here, we're here here where it gets you, right? Maybe eventually that their relationship stops. So then the things that she know what she's going to get your real peek behind the curtain. That's what anybody that leaves the could be potentially disgruntled when they leave then you you can get exposed that way. So for me, it doesn't have to do with her. It has to do with the Mets hiring all of these people and making such a big deal about hiring all of these people, and that's social media card. Welcome back out lighter. Welcome Jessica into all this stuff. It's just it's every other day. There's something else to show you how new and how outside the box. We're thinking let me finish. Trying to take wwltv's right? Exactly. Don't take him yet. You wanna talk about campaign? That's great hire her. Well. General manager in his life while they went outside the box, right? And that's crap. Has been an assistant GM and in the front office of major league baseball for what twenty years is that the Yankees idea for forever? I. If we're gonna make a big deal about that. That's fine. I just don't want to sit there and give the metal winning every column for every last little thing that they've done here in March. None of the stuff matters to me. It's really funny. Well, here's one thing that does matter to fans, which is there was a long time where the perception was the Mets work knowing their history. This is not Mendoza without lighter and John Franko, but more going back to be already an ambassador for the team. And don't get me wrong. I'm not against the Mets hiring out whiter. And John Franco guys was there was a disconnect with a lot of their old time players who were not happy with ownership's different things happen. But they also find a way to reconnect those kind of things, right? But so what the Mets are doing here is that they're publicly taking the credit for saying look at the olive branch that works sending out here. They want to make sure that their fans see this and get the message loud and clear that this is going to be an open door for people who played for the Mets, the people you love, you know, next would be probably like retire and Keith number, you know, all those things that Mets fans have been clamoring number like, it should be fantastic. Right. And so those are easy victories. And they're not the same as actual winds. But they're there. Easy victories that make the fan base feel good. And that's something that the Mets the seemed to have ignored. And they just seem like there are no brainers for me. Just common. Does a is a gold medalist. And she is a very smart baseball person. Technically, she she's a different point of view just because she has a different worldview than than your run of the mill white guy. But she's a baseball person. If you really wanna know about what she has to say, you don't even really get it on the broadcast BUSTER resumes podcast podcast. She's there every week, really. Phenomenon that it's just so funny to hear brody's as say, listen, I was an outside the box higher. So I'm open to all these other points here, which is great. But she's really she's an insider. I mean, you see her working a game at Yankee Stadium or at city field. She's on the backs. She's on the battery cage she's talking to people this is her world. And so I think it's I think it's interesting. I also would like to know. I mean, we're never going to know what the impact is. Right. We ever know what the impact is going to be not really. And so to me it's for anyone who is worried or who saw that news today was like, oh my God woman in the franchise. Like now, what the hell we going to do like, she's other smart voice in the room. Yeah. Well, if you're if you're thinking that way, it's just stupid. Well. Sure, plenty of people are thinking that way, it's stupid, and it's old fashioned and open your mind to it. My problem is that I gotta read stories about the stack eek a few weeks ago. And I gotta find some amazing if you're a Mets fan. This is fantastic. They had three people in the analytics department last year and how short supposed to. Applaud for them being ROY behind the game. We chop. Great job after seven years we had three guys in our analytics department, one of which you knew how to add. Lord. I order business trade your top prospect. Jared Celtic sucks. Get him outta here. Dan. No, it's in this case. It's not damned if you do damned if you don't from the Mets just results results that care about results matters that they struggle. I think that the Senate I- baseball back in June to say, hey, they brought out lighter back. That's got may feel better. No fantail love at least great still on..

"And I think he means well, and I've never sent him to be sexist, and I think the condescending part of it was probably an accident. But as I said, you have to be held responsible for what you say. And to look at her as anything other than a player would be wrong because I think the NHL I think NBC you've seen it up in the CBC to with Cassie Campbell Pasco getting opportunities to to analyze games not just as a host. But also as a color commentator with the play by play boys, either in the booth between the benches these networks have done a great job of allowing women to break down that wall of not just being a host. But also getting a chance to analyze the game because of all the sports hockey is right up there where there's not that big of a difference between playing. Hockey on the Olympic level as a woman in playing NHL hockey, especially where the NHL physicality is changed quite a bit. I mean, there's no fighting in the Olympics. There's no checking in the Olympic game in the women's game. The way it is at the NHL level. But certainly she know what it's it's like the play on the power play to kill a penalty to complete a pass to take a shot to fly down the ice at twenty miles per hour with skates on so she can analyze that. I think she can actually analyze the game just as well as anybody else can analyze the game. I mean, Jessica Mendoza does a great job at ESPN on Sunday night baseball having never played baseball. She played softball. But she understands the game the fundamental aspects of the game and she's done a great job. So I think a lot of these networks need to be applauded for breaking down that wall and men have to get used to that. And I know they're very protective of their space. And I do have conversations with women quite a bit about what is uncomfortable. The fact that men look do women belong here or. So the aspect of well, you never played in the NHL a lot of times when I try to analyze the game as a play by play voice or as a talk show host. Sometimes I feel like a player can say well done, you shouldn't have that opinion. Never played. You don't understand what it's like to be a player? I think there's always gonna be that awkwardness. Because because I'm a man I might be able to get away with analyzing the game because there could be that thought. Well, maybe Don did play. But you know, that a woman never played in the NHL because no woman has ever played in the NHL before. So is there is that barrier to try to overcome sometimes for women? But I think it's incumbent on us as men to be more open and to talk more as equals not just to say there my equal, but actually treat. Hey, they are equal Pierre. Mcguire. Analyze the game is a former coach in this league. And she can analyze the game as a player on the women's level playing at a high level the Olympics exactly the same. So. So you can't just can't be lip service. Yeah. She's my equal. No. She is equal. All right. She may be going out about it at a different way. She may have taken a different path to the booth and a lot of men did. But doesn't mean that her value and her analysis is any different. So I think we all have to kind of get over that. Because more of that's coming in. I think it's great. And it should be applauded for. Sure, it shouldn't just be. We should try to do it. We should actually do it. So don't let what happened last night. I think stumbling block for that to continue to progress. I think it was a mystic by Pierre. Having known him. I I also understand that I follow this sport. And I understand I follow sports social media that he's not the most popular cat among hockey fans for sure so it's probably very difficult for hockey fans to give him the benefit of the Dow one something like this happens because I think they take great pleasure in him dropping the ball because they don't like him. But as somebody that's neutral bordering on knowing him. I will. Give him the benefit of that..

Pros that have played in the Little League World Series

"This week, Sunday baseball's actually going to be the little league classic in williamsport, Pennsylvania. We've got the Phillies the Manson, Jess you already there. What are you doing there? So early that you when I talk, I I literally games. I mean, this is this is where at that, but there I'll tell you and I got two boys. I'm a little league coach. I don't know if I should admit that because sometimes if good and bad, but being here we the first opening day, lily World Series got four games, four more tomorrow you on Saturday. And then I'll have a game Sunday prior to our Sunday night game with the Phillies vets. But it's it's cool in the scene here. You'll be here soon BUSTER, but it's it's, it's pretty special. Yeah, you did this game last year? I did not do it. I was on vacation. What's it? Like when you get the big leaguers mixing with a little leaguers. The coolest thing BUSTER in, you know, we, we've seen it only once. You know the cardinals and the pirates here last year and what was really took me aback as expect. Obviously, when the big leaguers get here, the literally will be running up and getting autographs and photos and southeast and Instagram stories and all that. As soon as I remember the cardinals got here first before the pirates and they got off the bus and they were going after because they'd already watched a few of the games. They literally new kids names. You know, Carlos Martinez had some kids internationally that he like. I think it was a catcher Venezuela that he was like, totally adamant. I need to find this kid. I want my photo. Can I get your picture? Got his autograph, and it was so genuine. And this is before the cameras were even on them, or I mean, these big leaguers were fans of these kids. And to me, that's what makes us special is I think we only a bit of a reminder of like why the game of baseball is really played, but especially those guys not to like knock any player by any means, but. I think one hundred sixty two games. You would get it at the grind, but you get here and oh my gosh. Is it exuding up every just pure love for the game? You know, are they that towns and most of them aren't, but oh, they love it and it rubs off and you can tell when the big leaguers get here that there's a little bit of that. Just I remember when I was eleven years old. I remember when I was twelve and you know the stories just come out and it's it's cool and it's important. Along those lines about the players who play in the Little League World series. This week's poll question is who among the alum of the Little League World series, my goodness. There's so many from Chris story. The, you know, the the NHL player who so many current major leaguers Scott Kingery, Michael Conforto in our game or guys who played Little League World series, but who is the best alum of the Little League World series was played in the big leagues in the four choices and believe me. We could have had so many more Todd Frazier, Jason Varitek, Gary Sheffield or Dwight Gooden who would be the best alum of those four. You know, I put Todd Frazier, I voted this week because there's something about him that still just screams little league. I mean, anyone who's ever been around Todd Frazier and BUSTER. I know you know this, you've been around him. I mean, and part of its maybe his size and just as demeanor and the way he acts. I mean, he, he, he's still just has kid and love for the game the way he plays the game. And this is twenty year anniversary of the team that he one Little League World series with with Tom's river New Jersey, and they're all coming back. He's throwing out the first pitch, and I feel like in covering now the Little League World series. My fourth year, those images are the ones that are still
