"Thanks so much for having me, Melissa. It's so great to be on this side of the interview chair. I know, right? That's how I felt when you did mine. See, Jessica pre-records her podcast, and she also has video, which is cool. But since my show's live, we're, you know, we're just doing the radio part. Yeah, so you can't see us. But I'm glad that you said yes. Your story is pretty actually incredible. So in your own words, I'm just going to let you share your story and how you ended up doing the work that you're doing today. Sure. Thank you. It's quite a long story. So buckle up or feel free to interrupt me, Melissa, at any time. I think I'll start my story like back in, you know, just young adulthood and growing up. And just because I feel like it's so important, and so many of us probably feel this way, where somewhere along the way, we lost our sense of self-worth, we lost our confidence, you know, in middle school year and high school years, we just want to fit in. And we can take some of the common personally, and no matter how we grew up, you know, like we just keep, we're being programmed, basically, as a child, our subconscious mind is being programmed. And so sometimes we adopt the beliefs that are very hurtful. But we continue to kind of internalize them and it was according, absolutely. And so for much of my life, that's how I felt. I did not feel confident. I did not feel worthy. I felt like I was wasting people's time. But I just thought that was the way it is, because it was a deep belief. And I thought, well, this is just life. This is what the experience is all about. So anyways, I carried on with my life. And then in 2015, I ended up being in a severe car accident. I don't remember the accident itself. All I remember is being in a parking lot and about to return home. And then the next thing I know, I woke up in the hospital to a nurse squeezing my hand, saying, Jessica, Jessica, can you hear me? You're in the hospital. You're in a car accident. And then they told me all of the injuries that I had sustained. And so like you said, Melissa, I had several cuts in my face due to the shattered glass. I had broken my neck, my pelvis in three areas, and then had a traumatic brain injury. Now with that injury, I was advised of a whole lot of limitations on my life. And so I was advised that I probably would never be able to live independently again. And so that I should consider putting my dog up for adoption. Because I was back independent at that point, and I didn't have the mental function to be able to care for something else. But I probably wouldn't be able to go back to school to finish my post-secondary education because I was in my third year of my bachelor's administration at that time.

Four minutes ago from CNN, the judge is asking Hunter Biden a series of questions about the facts that are included in the charging documents. The judge asked Biden for the names of the foreign companies where he has worked, quote, the Ukrainian energy company was Burisma, Biden said. Biden has also mentioned his work for the Chinese energy company CEFC. The judge asked Biden directly, you did know that you owed tax money, right? And Biden said, yes, your honor. Seventeen minutes ago from CNN, prosecutors and defense agree to revised plea deal for Hunter Biden. The Hunter Biden plea deal proceedings have restarted and the president has agreed to a limited agreement that covers 2014 to 19 and only includes conduct related to tax offenses, drug use and gun possession. The two sides have agreed that this deal does not shield him from potential future charges. The proceedings are on going. So who benefits? Let's say that old Latin phrase, Cui Buono, Cui Buono, who benefits? So who benefits from the Hunter Biden deal falling apart? Well, Gavin Newsom definitely benefits. People in the Democrat Party that might have a little anxiety or unease about Joe Biden be the nominee, they might be a little bit scared that this is a real thing. What do I have behind me? Let's think about this. Donald Trump just came out today breaking news. He is going all in on early voting and chasing the ballots. Do you think potentially Democrats are a little bit nervous that Republicans are going to even the playing field of the Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia infrastructure? And they're a little worried they can't do the Federman thing again in 2024? I'm just asking. I mean, behind me, I have turning point actions, chase the vote. There is a significant amount of chatter. The volume has been increasing on Republicans focus to change the way that we do early voting, securing elections and really focusing on this nonsense of mass mail and vote balloting. Our Democrats now saying, well, we actually need a candidate. We actually need a candidate, not this. You know, Jimmy Carter, again, like I said, Jimmy Carter is about the same mental acuity right now as Joe Biden. They're right on the same mark. Jimmy Carter's in hospice. They're about the same. So who benefits from the Hunter Biden plea deal falling apart? Or is this just not somebody pulling the strings? Is this just the administrative state that overshot and this judge is personally insulted? And I want to get back to this because I don't think we came to any sort of clarity on this because I'm certainly confused. What the heck is going on when you have a blue chip law firm calling and lying? I love that the media. So they're so dishonest. The media, Jessica Bangle's misrepresented herself. Oh, she lied. Misrepresented herself. So this Jessica Bangle person again, you type her into Google. It should be the number one news story. There's not a single article written about this. So Jessica Bangle's calls the judge's office and just lies. I'm sorry, I typed in Jessica Bangle, not Bangle's. There are there's a fair amount of articles on this. I typed in her name wrong. So Seattle Times like this article here, judge threatens to sanction Hunter Biden lawyers after legal dispute. That's how CNN calls it a legal dispute. Could you imagine? Let's just let's just hold on for a second time out. Right now, Donald Trump is facing 400 years in prison by the Department of Justice. Let's pretend Alina Haba, one of Donald Trump's attorneys, called. Jack Smith. Called like called one of the judges for the document case, OK? And said and pretended to be an employee for the Department of Justice. And said, hey, we want to get this piece of evidence dismissed. How do you think that lawyer would be treated? That is precisely. What is going on? That is exactly what is going on. And everyone just kind of says, oh, it's just it's just a legal dispute. What that tells me. The way that Hunter Biden's legal team is acting from the the lawyer that is out on he's out is L.A. a couple of days ago. He's out on a porch. Like Cheech and Chong, like, what is this, like 1964 Animal House man? Like, no, this guy's the lawyer. I mean, all all kidding aside, if I was the lawyer for Hunter Biden, I would be going into much harder drugs than cannabis and marijuana. I would be exploring like mushrooms, psychedelics, ayahuasca, like it would all be on the table. If my job was to represent that craven evil family, I would be like perpetually medicated. But that's just me. And so you got this guy who's out there like doing a bong in between meetings with Hunter Biden. You got this other woman, Jessica. Jessica Bengals, who is calling around like pretending and lying about who she is like, oh, yeah, I work for the House Republicans and they're taking notes. And the judge is like, I'm going to sanction you should be like disbarred for this. OK, you should have you should have to answer to the American Bar Association or whatever state that you passed the bar in looks as if she's New York. By the way, the New York bar you do not want to mess with. That is one of the hardest bars and they are vicious. But Rudy Giuliani is potentially getting disbarred for questioning election results. And you got this woman working the phones acting as if she's somebody else. So this legal team is not acting like they're confident. They're acting like they're under duress, that there's a lot of pressure on them. And by the way, this lawyer, the druggie, Kevin Morris, who I guarantee you he's doing harder drugs than just the weed. That's just what we know of. The bong ripping lawyer. He was dubbed Hunter Biden's sugar brother after he agreed to loan the first son, loan the first son, a reported two point eight million to pay off his tax debts and join his legal team amid criminal and congressional investigations. Yeah, loan. This guy's getting a favor in the government in some way. And by the way, the real question that we all need to ask is, are you allowed to even meet Hunter Biden if you do not give him some crack at the beginning of the meeting? That's the question, right? It's like kind of like the introductory step. We have a we have like this cartel of degenerates running the country, but they're not acting confident these people are acting neurotically. I don't know the answer to that, but I want to see all the files. I want to see all the Kennedy assassination files. That is helpful in empowering the citizenry to know what type of government we've actually had post J. Edgar Hoover. Post World War II, a neoliberal regime took over Washington DC, invade the world, invite the world, free trade at all costs. Philosopher King's secret knowledge of people that are running the government. And Richard Nixon had to get rid of him. John F. Kennedy, whether he was displaced by our own government or other means, that's an open question. I certainly have strong opinions about that. But George Herbert Walker Bush, former CIA director, kind of ran the government in the 1980s as vice president, became president in the early 90s. Bill Clinton, obviously very close with Jeffrey Epstein, George W. Bush, the son of George W. Bush. It kind of seems as if that this sort of type of caricature of a ruler continued and continued. Donald Trump is not going to jail or they're not trying to get Donald Trump to go to jail, let me be specific, because of his lies. It's because he told truths they don't like. Liars are promoted and called cable television hosts. Truth tellers that say things you're not supposed to say are smeared, slandered and put in prison. So as we have this kind of pushing the boundaries of acceptable thought and the Overton window moves on the alien thing. Simultaneously, yesterday, there was this incredible RFK Jr. town hall with Sean Hannity. And RFK Jr. is totally wrong on the gay stuff. He says some weird stuff on this like Jewish vaccine thing. I didn't like what he said there. Even if even if he meant well with it, it's not good. Don't do that. Also, he called Moms for Liberty hate group. Not good. So I have to say that as a precondition. But also, I could not be more enthusiastic when RFK Jr. speaks the truth about what's happening in Ukraine. Play cut sixty five. It's a long clip. Listen, play cut sixty five. France, Germany and Russia all agreed to the Minsk accords that year. Zelensky ran for president. He was a comedian and no political experience. Why did he win? Because he won, ran on one issue, signing the Minsk accords. As soon as he got in there, Victoria Nuland in the White House told him he couldn't do it. That Putin sends forty thousand troops in. That's not enough to conquer the country. Clearly, he wanted us to come to negotiate. He wanted somebody to come to the negotiating table. Zelensky came to the negotiating table, signed a new agreement that was the Minsk accords to in twenty twenty two. And that would have allowed Dumbass to stay and Lugans to stay to remain as part of of Ukraine. We said Putin signed it. Zelensky initialed in and Putin in good faith began withdrawing troops from the Ukraine. What happened? We sent Boris Johnson over there to torpedo it because we don't want peace with. We want war with Russia. Bingo, perpetual war keeps the regime in power. Orwell knew this. Peace is a threat to oligarchs.A illegitimate regime needs war because it justifies their domestic international tyranny. Peace is a threat to the regime. Once you realize that and you internalize that, your whole perspective of foreign policy will change. My entire life, I was born in nineteen ninety three. There's only a couple of years I can isolate where we have not been involved actively in a kinetic war from 2001. We were involved in war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Donald Trump scaled those down and then we're building it right back up. But you could call dictator displacement in Libya, thanks to Hillary Rodham Clinton. Syria with Bashar al-Assad. And now Ukraine. War is not about national security. No win wars keep the administrative state permanently powerful and rich. Permanent war, no win wars is a backwards money laundering scheme of crony capitalism of the wildest imaginations of people that otherwise would not be able to earn an honest buck in a market economy. These are bad people that get rich, sending your sons and your daughters to go fight no win wars against people that we actually should not hate. "I think it's less of a scientific answer and more about somewhere in the arena between politics and public health. It's what people are going to be willing to do and I think I've seen the CDC shift more towards saying everybody has to take personal responsibility for themselves as individuals. Rather than being focused on whether you're a risk for other people. Well, with that said, it's difficult to put the toothpaste back in the tube with some of these things. If we have a big surge in the fall, I mean, are we going to bring back vaccination requirements in the workplace? I think that's a really interesting question. Another question is, are we going to see offices going to fully remote while there is a big search? It happened too for the early winter through to early or mid spring. I can imagine that. You know, a big issue here with providing vaccines to people is the fact that they were paid for the COVID funding is running out or has run out. And that's not going to be available forever for everyone. What kind of an impact will that have on the numbers of vaccinated Americans? You're absolutely right. It's going to have an impact. There are going to be people who are not going to be willing to pay out of pocket. Hopefully, those who have insurance will get covered by insurance. I'd like to think of this as something that moves in the direction of the influenza vaccine that not everybody, but many people do get every fall. And that would be the model I would be aiming for. And certainly that's the model that the FDA is using when they have decided to authorize this new updated vaccine without looking for a whole new phase three mega clinical trial. Right. How are you handling all of this at the Columbia mailman school of public health? Is there a vaccine requirement that will stay in place there? I believe that it will stay in place. Are you remote at this point or are you all back in the room together? Well, it depends. So those of us who do clinical work in a hospital, that's not remote. That's enough. Those of us who do some kinds of either teaching the teaching is back in person, certain kinds of research projects can be done remotely. So I'd say different people have different mixes. I think we all do here. Yeah i don't think about it. It's being spoiled. I just treat them. Like i'd wanna be treated treat them pretty good painter. Ladybugs toenails. Do you give her a little salon treatments in nice baths get onto thanks there are resorts now and you probably knew this there are resorts there that are specifically designed for dogs and cats and these resorts you know. They'll they'll pamper. Your animals will treat them absolutely wonderful. You're not allowed to go there. Unfortunately only the animals and there's actually a brand new one part of a chain. Eight million dollar building was built in rockville maryland maryland. It's the old town. Pet resort really eight million dollars to build a pet resort. They must be raking in some cash. There how can they afford to build something like that now. We do know. The pet industry is a sixty five billion dollar a year industry and it's growing exponentially so we're spending the money apparently to put our animals in these resorts. We have a friend. Cathy alter she's a journalist for the washingtonian magazine and some other other trades and she got the honor of spending a night in this old town pet resort. And i know it's a dog and cat only resort. Yeah but she was able to finagle her way in and spend the night there so that you could find out what it's like to be a dog or a cat stain at this posh resort. That's really cool. Because i had people ask if they stay. They would be willing to sleep in a dog kennel so they could be with her pet at night. I have yes. I've had almost like fight people off the doors because they insisted they want to sleep with their pets when it was hospitalized. And i it just explaining. We're not approved for that again. Have you sleep in the clinic. Clinics not as polished as one of these resorts them wanting to be with their pet certainly but So we'll talk to kathy in about twenty minutes from now right here on animal radio and he'll tell us to be in one of those resorts overnight. Laurie what are you working on over there in the newsroom. There is one state in the nation. That is going to be i. I would bet once about on. This is going to be the first in the nation to become the first anti puppy mill state. Statewide whole state really. Yeah i'm thinking new york new york or jersey probably day so no pennsylvania the number one state for puppymills. Talk into your animals baby talking in the veterinary office. To praise was just as strong if not stronger than food as a reward system for an for dogs. I think that's something we have to mention. As much as we all love to feed our dogs you say therefore praise instead of a tree is what you're saying goes among absolutely a can go a long way. I don't think so someone comes up and says how you're being a good boy or they offer me a big mac. I'm probably gonna go for the big matt. Oh come on now. Someone tells you hey how you did a great job. You impressed me. I would use your services again. You're a reputable guy now. Don't you feel good here in something like that. Maybe a double decker cheeseburgers really in the veterinary world. Maybe talk has a real place. We talk in this high pitched squeaky voice gets dogs attention. You know works with babies and we use it as a reward. So there's times when we're doing something to say a puppy or a kitten and we want it to be a fun upbeat experience so we may be baby. Talk them through the whole thing so they don't even notice they're getting vaccines you're getting temperature and it's just such a fun way to get what we need to do. John and i just encourage you to watch the video. It's a lot of fun some of my staff of superior way of baby talking and Okay we'll lead from animal. Radio dot pat. I must have missed that one. The reason they're distracted from the shot is they're going. Why is daddy and mommy talking to me like that. That is the silliest thing. Can't they talk to me. Like i'm a grown dog. I mean really perhaps perhaps but you know in in the vet world really can be a great reward for an animal and then you know i just love it and i think it's fun And you know if i spoil your baby beagle puppy dog a problem you see. That's exactly if i talked to. You like that doctor deb. If you're a good doctor you would think that i'm patronizing. Maybe i can't even think you were be. We were patronizing you. Don't you think the animals like the same thing you know. I think there's certain animals don't find it fun and don't find is really high value system like boss. I don't really babytalk him too much. But there's certain things i'll see. What a good any looks at me. And he goes excites them. But when i talked to boss regularly. I talked to him like you right now. Because he's a very intelligent boy. And i'm not minimizing has intelligence. There's times when it's appropriate there. Two women who baby talked to tater and every time they do he gets so excited. It's like he can hardly hold his his wiggling but on himself. It just goes side to side and then he picks up his own lease like. He's walking himself. Funniest that yeah. It's very sweet.
