"I want to talk to you guys about a very controversial diet that is huge in the fashion industry. And many Hollywood celebrities follow it. So let's say you're a big star and you've been nominated for an Oscar and you want to fit into some ridiculous couture dress for the award ceremony. And so you've got three weeks to get yourself into this sample size. It's a tiny dress. Or your model or whatever. There's a woman and this is her actual name and her name all by itself cracks me up. Petronella Raven sheer. Okay. If that doesn't sound like a made up character out of a Harry Potter book, I don't know what's her name is petronella Raven sheer. She's British, but she lives in Florida. And she has invented the human being diet. And she says that the human being diet focuses on balancing your metabolism and giving you better digestive health. But and maybe it works, okay? I'm going to describe it. There's no way that I could do this. There's no way that you could do this. Absolutely no way. It's a three month program. So you have to do it for three months, and she says it's painless. You'll have boundless energy. You'll hit your perfect weight. You'll have perfect skin. You'll sleep. Which sounds promising, right? Like, all right, petronella Raven sheer bring it. So here's the human being diet. It kicks off with two days where you have no meat, no fat or oil of any kind, no alcohol. And you eat. I'm out. You eat some vegetables that you cook and blend into a soup. But they're very specific vegetables, like beets, but not potatoes, blah, blah, blah. That's what you have for two days. After that, you can slowly introduce a little bit of meat and other kinds of protein into your diet. But you're not allowed any oil or fat. And again, no alcohol for two weeks, you only get 6 hundred calories a day. And she says, you'll have a brighter outlook on life, which I'm over here going. I don't think so. I think I'm going to be weak and hungry and furious. Right outlook on life. She says that it'll rebalance your hormones, you'll have your blood sugar levels stabilized. And of course, you will lose weight. So now that's phase one and phase two here three. Ten weeks. Of this. You're allowed one tablespoon of olive oil with each meal, and one weekly treat meal which can be anything you want and can include one alcoholic drink. So you're eating the vegetables, you're having one tablespoon of olive oil and then once a week, you can have Chinese food or pizza or whatever. And the final phase and she says, the final phase is forever. Where you can continue that phase three where you get a tablespoon of olive oil and one weekly treat meal. And you can introduce an additional cheat meal and additional alcohol provided you can maintain your weight. So women on average need between 1624 hundred calories a day, men need between two and 3000 calories a day, but petr nella Raven shears human being diet gives you 600 calories. Let's discuss. That's going to be a tough thing for me to really any human being I've ever met to go through. But I think it would work. I do. I think it would work. I don't know. I just don't think I can do it. I don't I mean, everything in moderation, right? Like I could give certain things up, but 600 calories a day. Yes, I'm going to feel euphoric. The other word for that is fainting. Yeah. You don't have enough energy. How do you exercise with only 600 calories? That's a very good question. Yeah. Because after you exercise, it went on a 5 mile run or something like that, pretty strenuous. You're starving, right? When Jenner rose around? She's an incredible actress, yeah. Incredible actress. She plays the wife who was done wrong and she is amazing. It took me a couple of minutes. I went, that's rose. That's rose right there. But the person, the actor who blew me away, and I've never really been that big of a fan. I know he's very talented, was Justin, Timberlake. "Probably can't even remember the amount of different ideas that we actually went around town pitching and never got anywhere right. So the finale of cruel summer is upon us yes. How busy does that show keep you well now that we're this far down the line. We are locked cuts on everything. We're just doing all the last minute. Postie stuff So this particular season is pretty much kind of running. The train's on the tracks and it's on its way and honestly what we're doing with our creator and our our writers are other producers. What would a season to look like if we would get that opportunity. And i don't know if we'll get that opportunity but we're kind of trying to look into what that would we had no idea this show would be so popular. Yeah it's kinda crazy. It's set in texas. You guys shoot in texas we do. Oh you do your dale dallas. So are you down there. A bunch well weirdly enough because this was a full Shoot during kovin. And i had a newborn. I never went. I was never onset. This was the first time in my experience with my partner where we were fully apart from each other. She was onset. I was not on sad. And i felt more than anything very far away from be real nitty gritty dirty producing hands on experience. Which is where we're with the actors and we're hanging with the writers on sad and everyone's having fun and doing thing. This was a very different experience because of all that. Yeah and what is this dream. Show that you want to create for yourself in beyond or now. How does having an eleven month old impede on that. 'cause i mean definitely it impedes 'cause i feel like i'm just kind of coming out of that sort of black hole of breastfeeding naps. Diaper bed breastfeed nap. Steiber bed like that. And it's really nurturing for me and it's really nurturing for him and we get to do all that regular stuff like what you're mentioning before all the big crazy work nighttime stuff goes on. We get to do breakfast together. And then go to the park if it's possible or hang out in a hotel room because you you could be at any place in the world you never know and do a nap time together so if we can be together. Justin can be part of those normal things and then it's just another aspect of daddy's life. Yeah i took lincoln doe one of our live shows and i thought oh. Obviously we'd let him nap really late like four to seven or if he could or four to six or whatever we could get like a super late nap and then he would he would come to the arena. It's confusing to try to know how to handle the way that historically women have been categorized and put in these boxes and don't you think to a lot of it is just like whatever thing you have. I so when we interviewed natalie portman we were kind of her with like britney spears so britney spears was like a goody goody on the mickey mouse club so she wanted to reclaim her sexuality and she was just the opposite so she was overly sexualizes a kid in like the professional so she was like no. I want to keep that now personal and i wanna reclaim my personal sexually so either people in either starting place maybe has the same trajectory. It's almost just like whatever thing you had you kind of covid thing or i don't know it's very interesting that makes sense if you're sort of like launched into one pass There's only so much you can do on that same path and that i feel like that's probably true for so many businesses. Now if i found out like my daughters wanted to be agricultural engineers and at fourteen we all had to move to iowa so they could study. corn would be tough. That'd be a tough sell to me so like when you got cast on that show where they like. Oh this is just got real like we gotta be now in l. a. nine months of the year. yes. I mean. I think to be honest with you. I was probably super selfish. Fourteen year old kid. And i was so excited because it was i was also one of those old school addition processes where i went in a million times then we went in and we had this big testing experience where aaron spelling and all the people on the big table. And you know you're just kind of walking in as a thirteen year old going. Oh my god what has happened. There's like one hundred adult staring at me and then you're coming in and all these other kids are in the waiting room and they're putting families together so we're coming into the rooms with like a little boy a little girl. Another little girl and standing there in front of everyone is asking us questions and then you go back out. And then they put together with another group of kids and they bring you back in. It was a. It was a long long arduous process when it actually was a go. We were shocked and so excited. Oh yeah it was like the biggest thing that ever happened to me my life and then the reality i think probably said in for my parents i mean i was laser focused like i doing what i put on this earth your to do and you guys better get in researcher. Did they stay married through this. My parents did stay married through this. Oh good we were kind of take turns so we lived in oakwood apartments. One of my questions did you live at oakwood i lived at oakwood. I certainly did. My brother was at home then. Finally the family all came out. We lived in calabasas for a while. My brother went to high school in calabasas then ended up going home back to colorado..

Where kids from all over the country come to la for a week. Stay at the bonaventure hotel. Get all fancy and do monologues and runway stuff and singing and dancing in front of agents and managers and casting agents everything a wide so we paid to be trained to do that and then go for the week in la. I thought I would talk about the content the entertainment that we watch and read and listen to at home. That's right it could be a movie. A book or podcast. Well it is all double or triple the entertainment and content. And you'll understand what I'm talking about in a few minutes. Listen I love dystopia anything? And if you've been listening to this podcast you know it. Well to stop in is so popular right now and to stop anything is popular but did you know that it is a sub genre that is under the huge science fiction genre and it is very popular. Well think of all the movies and books that you've read and other entertainment that you've watched that is using the scare factor or the desperation factor that brings in misery or discomfort. Or just something that you are not comfortable with well. That is a distortion emotion. Right it brings in something that is just foreign to you. And that would also be a change to the human condition This is perfect for living environment of social unrest including social distancing and working remotely and we are certainly doing a lot of that so there are so many people much more than. Let's just say your ago that have taken to a distortion entertainment to still be in anything. It could be a book like. I said it could be a movie or it could be a podcast and that is all under the distortion genre. Now if we're gonNA have a dystopia genre we'll guess what we have to have the opposite and that is a utopian genre and there is that no. What is the difference? Well of course you know the difference. I'm going to give you a definition right now. Well what does dystopia mean and I will tell you right now? Dictionary Dot Com has a great definition. Here a society characterized by human misery as squalor oppression disease and overcrowding. That's right and now I will give you the definition for utopia or utopian. Well of course it means the exact opposite of distortion it. Means of relating to or just having to do with idealized perfection given too impractical or unrealistic schemes of such perfection. It's an idealized perfection. And that's something that we don't really see very often so we tend to go towards the dystopia N- types things well. This is perfect for living in an environment of social unrest including social distancing and working remotely that we have had to get used to in the recent past. But I want to tell you about a couple of movies that are wonderful and then you can also read the books. And sometimes and one of the instances you can also get a podcast is a really good thing as well. Well the first thing I want to talk about is the most dangerous game. Well what is that? Well I read the Schwartz story when I was probably very young in the nineteen seventies and it is a short story that came out in nineteen twenty four by Richard Connell and it is a wonderful short story Nelson for the nineteen thirty eight film adaptation. You can see the most interest game and it is so cool. Well the most dangerous game about hunt but this is a different kind of hunt and you will find it very interesting. Read the Short Story and see the movie and guess what it is. Just become a series on qube DOT com. Now qube is very interesting and I want to mention this because I just discovered it is shorter episodes but the same kind of story. They just cut out a little bit of the excess things that they didn't need and the short story or the movie but this is very interesting so on Qube it is an episodic short series thirteen episodes with Liam Hemsworth and they are really easy and Benge worthy. So do that next. I WanNa talk about a book that I read in Maimi junior high school and that is nineteen eighty-four. Well George Orwell wrote the book in Nineteen Forty nine and he can kind of see the future. It is a warning of what is to come. The story takes place in an imagined. Future the year well nineteen eighty-four when much of the world has fallen victim to perpetual war? Omnipresent government surveillance and propaganda. Well it is not a fun place to live and it is not a fun time to be alive in nineteen eighty. Four is a great book. You don't WanNa miss it? Read the book. See the movie and the concept of the book and the movie was used to record a super bowl ad in nineteen eighty four now on youtube and that will be in the show notes. It represents the control of technology and how it's taking over and the ad big brother is represented by IBM Somewhat and the takeaway from the ad is the world is going to change because of computers That did happen next. I love this and it is the center. Well the first season starring Jessica Biel was great but they have three seasons. And what is going on is why a murder was committed and keeps you guessing. Well it stars. Bill Pullman as well as the investigator in all three seasons I know it's not distortion but it's worth a watch. It's a mystery thriller psychological thriller psychological fiction and it is on net flicks three seasons. You don't WanNa miss it? It is Binge Worthy Watch the series and read the book now. Next is a funny kind of situation. I came across this and I wasn't planning on it. I was just had a little bit of free time and is the stranger. Well what is that about? The Stranger is a British mystery thriller series written by Danny Brocklehurst and based on the two Thousand Fifteen Harlem copen novel of the same title. Try to get that at Amazon. And you won't be able to the mini series premiered on net flex in January of twenty twenty just a couple months ago and it stars Richard Armey Taj. Who is best known for the Hobbit Oceans Eight and Captain America and it starts one of my favorites. And I know some people won't recognize the name Jennifer Saunders and she was an absolutely fabulous a British comedy so watch the series the stranger. It's so interesting. Okay now. We're going to go back into a DYSTOPIA and type of deal and this is really fun. Try to get all these friends and people to watch and not everybody gets it but I know that you will. It is called Black Mirror and there's five seasons it is a British distillery and science fiction and Black Mirror was inspired by the twilight zone. That's right dealing with controversial contemporary topics with less fear of censorship than other more realistic programs. It highlights topics related to humanity's relationship with technology and the stories that feature the way we live now and the scary and Weird Way. We might be living in the future.
