"Within moments that community would be sharing in loss seeking to save lives as a car runs straight into the parade. As children danced to the music, the red SUV raced pals those watching from the edge of the street. Ahead, the road was full of those taking part in the march itself. The vehicle continued through them with dreadful consequence. We have multiple casualties. Oh my gosh. At least 5 people were killed and more than 40 injured amongst the many children. The next thing I heard were screams, and turned my head and saw the car common plow into the band that was just passed my balcony at that point. It hit at least two people right away, rolled over both of them, and then continued down the road. As the car sped on, police opened fire. I saw people right away run the people that were hit and start doing CPR and I saw people on the ground. This one. It's really bad. This is the man knowing custody, Daryl Brooks seen here in a rap video in front of the red SUV. Donald Brooks is known to police and already faces a charge of deliberately running a woman down with his car. Domestic disturbance. Which just means prior in suspect left that scene just prior to our arrival to the domestic disturbance. He now faces 5 charges of intentional homicide, further charges relating to the injury of 48 adults and children will follow. Emma Murphy, music ten, in the United States. Daryl Brooks would subsequently be charged with 6 counts of first degree murder along with an additional 70 felony charges. I watched the trial closely, which means I watched a good portion of it. The trial did extend for about a month. And what I'd like to do now is I'd like to share with you some segments from that trial, and we're going to begin by a pre trial hearing and which Darrell Brooks fires his defense team, declares himself to be a sovereign citizen and announces to the court that he's going to defend himself. Now, if you're listening to the audio version of this podcast, the voice you're going to hear narrating this clip is a man by the name of Jesse Weber, who is with the law and crime, sidebar podcast. Do you wish to represent yourself in this case? Yes, I do. Before I'm sorry, go ahead. I would like to represent myself pro part. What does that mean to you, sir? Explain to me that request. Again, because I've already said it on record. To represent myself as a siren citizen. I'm not going to make a determination or whether you're a sovereign citizen or not. It's not relevant to my determination, how you characterize who you are. So if you are allowed to represent yourself in this case, sir. You will not have attorneys assisting you. If I let them withdraw, they are gone from this case. Do you understand that? I think I will probably be better served. Representing myself. And judge Darrow did allow Brooks to represent himself. Now, he may look back on that decision and say, that probably wasn't the best choice. But what was fascinating is that Brooks identifies as a sovereign citizen. This is someone who doesn't really believe that they are under the jurisdiction of the government, that they're exempt from U.S. laws, which is seemingly why he would make repeated statements about his legal name or statements that would undermine the authority of the court and the trial. Sir, did you hear me tell you about the penalties for these offenses just now? I don't understand the nature and cause of the charges. I'm not asking you that, sir. Did you hear me advise you of the penalties for hit and run resulting in death? Any questions for this witness? Yes, I do for the record I don't consent to that name. Are we going to address subject matter jurisdiction? The written decision that I previously entered is what I will stand down. I'm not going to address it any further. Is that verified proof? Can we address subject matter jurisdiction is still has to be proven for the record? I declined to do so. Ah, yes, the infamous subject matter jurisdiction argument that he made throughout the trial, even till the very end. And it's an issue that really has no basis in law because of this court does in fact have the jurisdiction to handle this criminal case. But as the trial progressed, Brooks became even more argumentative and would constantly interrupt the judge. To the point that he would get kicked out of court and placed in a neighboring courtroom with audio and visual tool tools so he could see and hear everything. But it was intense and bizarre, nonetheless. Before I need to make a record that at 8 42 a.m. this court ordered mister Brooks be removed from the courtroom due to repeated interruptions and disruption with the court, you can see that he is seated with his back to the court or to the camera. He took his shirt off as well. I'm also told that he is threatening to throw and break items. Yeah. Throughout the trial, Daryl Brooks made the assertion that he is a Christian. In fact, at his defense table, whether he was in the main courtroom or the alternate courtroom where he had to be placed on time out basically because he couldn't behave himself. He had a large paperback Bible at his table in front of him. In fact, there was one point where the judge when she was making a record of Daryl Brooks behavior referred to the Bible as a book. And he took offense at that. Take a look. All right, mister Brooks, do you have any position on that? I am unmuting you. I would know he takes the headphones on and off throughout. He doesn't have them on. He's looking at a book. I'm looking at the Bible. Thank you. Not just a book. It's the book. Can't disagree with you there, sir. How many people actually live by them? Anyway, now did you notice in that exchange with the judge herself a professor Christian? That when the judge acknowledged the authority of the word of God, the authority of the Bible, Daryl Brooks mocked her under his breath. This was a common event throughout this monthlong trial. Daryl Brooks regularly and repeatedly and demonstrably showed disrespect for the court, disrespect for the proceedings, disrespect for the prosecution and at times disrespect for the witnesses, including the witnesses he himself called. This, again, was an ongoing occurrence in the trial. I think the judge and the prosecution showed a great deal of patience and restraint in dealing with this very arrogant and I think self deluded man. Sir, I'm contemplating putting an hour time limit on closing arguments.

"That's the best of times. I do, miss. September. Miss the innocence. I miss the times before events change September I missed the September issue of Vogue. In fact, I miss Hall magazines. I'm just going to the theater without a mask wearing that the air is contaminated. Missed sitting next to people not liking them. Of course, that's who I am but scared. They are carriers. I mistrust in government. I miss eating indoors. I miss a clear head. I miss being vapid, worrying only about whether I look good whether I look cool. I miss going everywhere. I miss September. I'm still walking. It's no longer raining. My head and conscience is clear. I'm no longer feeling sorry for the world. No longer feeling sorry for myself. It's time to pick it up. Mark time to get busy. Get on with life, see the bright side enjoy the moment and choice September. There you have it. September. I miss the simpler times, but I'm excited for the future. Some could argue that September is the most exciting moment of the year. Now that I brooded in melancholy, Walk down memory lane. Now that I've got to think it through and talk it through. Now that my heads in the right place Allow me to introduce you to my son, My lawyer co host Jesse Weber. Can't help it, Jesse. I do miss September and happier times. Very melancholy. Very poetic. Very poetic. I think you made the point pretty clearly. We've all seen better times. But let me be the glass, half full kind of guy, which I think I'm pretty much always on this show. Since you're constantly negative. I see it differently. I think the future is pretty bright because we do live in the greatest country in the world. It's still the greatest country in the world as of right now, hopefully it doesn't change. This is the most exciting city in the world. They said New York was dead came back. I think this is really a lot of exciting things are happening. You know this time of year, The Yankees are doing great. They're winning the US Open is putting a spotlight in Queens that this time of year fashion week coming back runway shows coming back. Live runway shows are coming back. We have the restaurants open hotels are taking guests back. Uber's You can take always back and forth. Everyone is coming back from the Hamptons Out east are coming back to the city. I think September is a great time. I'm excited for September and I got to say with all due respect and great reverence, uh, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I hate to say this and I want to see it carefully. But I think you were more fun when you were the master of the universe now on radio, Not so much woes. So you're saying I used to be important? No, I'm not saying important. I didn't say that. I didn't. I don't think that but in September since that's what we're talking about. This was a time in your career that How do I say it? Well, you were working at a real job. I mean, I hate to say you were. You were going at a real job and they had benefits. We had certain benefits the US Open we went to we got. We had great tickets to that The runway shows front row at the runway shows amazing hobnobbing with celebrities. Backstage access fashion Week It was fashion night out. We were going to all these cool parties. It was an exciting time. So you're saying I used to be important and not saying important? I'm not saying no, Just stay out. I'm not going there. Sounds like you are. You're the one who picked this topic. Okay? I miss September. You missed September. Aren't I allowed to miss September you? You were right in the thick of it. You said it. The runway shows front row at the open. After parties. I can be honest, I miss September also. Okay, Saum. Irrelevant. Annoying. Annoying. No, you're not irrelevant. You're my father. You're never irrelevant. You always said I'm still important. Doesn't sound like it were a little bit removed, right? We're a little bit more removed from the bigger life that we used to have in September. Now I'm feeling guilty that I gave it up. You don't have to feel guilty. You should never feel guilty. We do right now. Let me be clear. We still have a great right. We had the experiences when you look back that Not a lot of people had in the first place, and I really think that's what the show should be about. If you ask me if I could be the director of the show. I think you should tell some stories about the September that we miss the September we used to have, even though it's great right now. I mean, we're fortunate. Alright, Alright, alright. I've sounds like I'm relevant, but okay, That's the point. I just didn't realize you wanted me to say I used to be important. You are important. Yeah, right. Just be relevant now. Okay, Swell. Swell. Yeah, okay. You know what your your baby don't be a baby. You have a lot to talk about. Just get back into it. All right? Never mind. This is Mark Webber. This is always in fashion. I used to be important. To be honest. I'm loving my simple life. Now it's simple. But it's significant and that's for another show tonight. It's I miss September and to get things rolling. Jesse mentioned front row at the US Open. I want to talk about that for a minute because you want to talk about missing something. I miss going to the U. S open. No. Put that aside for a second, I've been invited to this year's U. S. Open by a number of powerful companies that would allow me and the boys to sit in certain areas that are great, but nothing compares. What we had in my formal life, and I want to talk about that. Let's see where to begin. Sitting in my office One day. My title at the time was, uh, I think Face chairman of sports where at the pvh company and within my purview. All the sportswear brands reported into me, and one of them at the time was the eyes on brand. For those of you who don't remember. And those of you who are actually Born after this happened, I said, and Lacoste became one brand in the United States. This goes back to the fifties, The Lacoste brand wanted expanded to United States. There was a company that owned the ice out brand that was well known in the United States. They suggested to the French company to merge the names and it was called Isa Lacoste. It was probably the biggest marketing blunder in the history of the world, but let alone for sure the single biggest marketing blunder in the fashion industry to merge those two names. Because over the course of time Isa the cost group group and eventually became very popular, priced over distributed in the French wanted the brand name back and through. Negotiations. They finally bought the name back and separated. The two companies his eyes on and there's the cost, and that's how it's seen today. One day anyway, We were running this company. We bought it out of bankruptcy and as vice chairman of the group, it reported into me. The president of the golf and tennis division came to see me and said, Mark, I need to talk to you about the U. S open. I said Haven't we talked about that already? It's going to be in Shinnecock this year. And we are supporting certain Clinton. No, no, no more. I'm talking about the tennis open. Said the tennis open, All right, that's it. Well, what about it? He said. Over the course of time we found out when we bought the company. We have the reserved rights to the box seats. In the U. S open. And I want to know if you want to take them or not. What do you want to do? He said. I'm not sure it's expensive. Let's say it was $100,000. I don't remove the exact number. It's $100,000 to have the box for the Entirety of the tournament. I'm sure it's great. We can entertain clients and, uh, something you might want to consider. I said $100,000. That's a lot of money. You know, it's interesting in general when companies buy other companies, the CEO the president's they all want to show How they run, lean and mean companies and they want to eliminate as much as the overhead as they possibly can so that they could justify the purchase and show how smart they are. I'll never forget when May company One of the large department store conglomerates out on the West Coast bought Robinsons May, which it was called was the Robinsons Department. Storm. Robinson was the carriage straight. It was the Neiman Marcus of California was a beautiful story. Never forget going out meeting the chairman..

"Cuomo resigned, but He, too, is facing charges of sexual harassment. The covid stuff. I mean, he's in a lot of legal pickles going on right now, so we thought we would have Jesse Weber, a good friend. He hosts the law and Crime network, and he's the co host of W War is always in fashion. Which airs right here on this radio station Saturday nights at eight o'clock and Sunday at seven o'clock, Jesse sorts all the legal stuff out for us. Good morning, Jesse. How you doing? Good morning, guys. Thanks for having me again. All right. So let me ask you Governor. Cuomo finally resigned last night. But this whole drama is not over with what legal questions. Does Governor Cuomo face ex Governor Cuomo? I should say face. Well, yeah, even though he resigned, And even though there's no calls for impeachment anymore, they are still going to deliver an impeachment report that's going to be handed out. He's still under investigation by state prosecutors for allegedly forcibly touching these women or any kind of counts that might rise to the criminal level. And then, of course, you know, there's the whole issue of the nursing homes. That's still being investigated as well. And I got to say when you're watching him resigning. It's really different than he was two weeks ago where, he said, If I made anyone uncomfortable, I apologize. I apologize and here, he said. He's basically the victim. He's a victim of a political hit job. I know he's going to continue to fight this and try to change the narrative that he might think by stepping away. This is his best move. I'm curious to see where he goes there. But he knows that he's going to have to spend all day every day focusing on these different legal pin ING's that are around him right now. It's not a great position to be it if you're Andrew Cuomo. Do you? Uh, Do you see him in any way winding up in jail from any of this? Ah, there's a lot of hoops to jump through before that happens. But when you do talk about something like forcible touching, which is what is alleged about what happened in the governor's governor's mansion. That is criminal conduct. There is prison time associated with that Now, if he was if he took a plea deal if he was convicted, would prison time ultimately happened? Difficult to say. Is it a possibility? Given what we know? Absolutely. I just don't know if we're going to get to that level. Yes. Well, Jesse. What about what about having the AIDS on taxpayers? Dime writing his book? Is that criminal? It could be. It could be. I mean, using state funds for personal use is we've seen different politicians get in trouble for that before. But again, is it that level of egregiousness that would rise to criminal conduct? You know, you might say something doesn't smell right. And doesn't look right but actually going forward with a criminal prosecution. A lot of times you see cases where you wonder why it's not prosecuted, and the prosecutors know why you have to have evidence beyond a reasonable doubt. Always that's the standard and if they feel they can't reach that. They might not go that route, but he could still face a number of different lawsuits. Don't forget that. I mean, he could face a lot of different justice in the civil arena for what he's accused of doing. Hey, Jesse, this R Kelly trial That's going on in Brooklyn. I mean, every day, some salacious details coming out. Granted, it's just one side presenting their case thus far, But, man, it just looks awful every single day as far as the things that Kelly is accused of doing. The allegations are so egregious, so disturbing that you wonder you defense. Are you really saying these women made this up? Let's not forget what they're saying. They're saying these women were jilted by making this up. It seems like an unbelievable argument when you're hearing this really grotesque behavior and disturbing an abusive behavior on the part of the defendant, and when we talk about a charge like racketeering The prosecution only needs to prove to of the 14 underlying acts in order to convict him of racketeering. They so far are putting forward a very strong case that When you compare it to something like Harvey Weinstein, it is backed up by more evidence, and maybe more physical evidence that I just feel that this federal case against R. Kelly looks even stronger than it. Would the Harvey Weinstein case in New York. And yes, that was a state case, and there was different charges there. I just feel the prosecution is putting forward just a mountain of evidence right now. That's going to be hard for the defense to overcome. Well, speaking of Harvey Weinstein, so he's up in L. A. He's standing trial. They're the one thing I don't get. The Jesse is Harvey's been convicted. He's going to be in jail for the rest of his life. We know that. Why pursue me in L. A Well, it's important because two reasons one anything could happen with his New York case. I know he appealed back to those convictions. Who knows what could happen? I don't think he's going to be successful. But look what happened with Bill Cosby. So now you want him in L A remember. The idea is to keep Harvey Weinstein behind bars, but number two, and this is the more important aspect. All of those alleged victims in L. A. They need to be accounted for Just because he's serving prison time for other crimes doesn't mean that they shouldn't have a voice that their crimes aren't important. You need to prosecute him for any criminal wrongdoing. And just because he's in prison for other crimes doesn't mean you don't go after him on other conduct as well. So what was the new charge that was instituted yesterday against him? Well, it's not new. It's a charge that he was already facing in regards to a sexual battery in 2010. Originally the judge threw it out because it was too old. It was beyond the statute of limitations. Now there was a 10 year statute limitations, and originally, the prosecutors did file it on time. But due to kind of a legal complication, they didn't put the right language in and they had to amend it, Refile it. It's part of a continuous criminal conduct. That's what the grand jury came back with last week, and by all accounts this Charge is now going to stick. So while his defense team kind of did a victory lap a week a week ago and said, no, we got this charge thrown out. I think it's going to stick now, and he is ultimately going to be facing back 11 charges in L. A All right. Jesse Weber. He's a host on the law and Crime network, and he co hosts W. O. R is always in fashion, which airs Saturday, eight o'clock Sunday at seven o'clock, and Jessie What's on your show this weekend. It's about get smart, You know, not everybody knows everything. "W. O R. Well yesterday, the The indictments were unsealed against the Trump Organization and their chief financial officer, Alan Weisberg. Primarily a tax case. Uh, I have a hunch There's more to it than Apple. Let's bring in our buddy Jesse Weber. Jesse is a host on the long crime network. He's also co host of WR is always in fashion that areas tomorrow night at eight o'clock and Sunday at seven in the evening. Uh, Jesse, Welcome back. I know you read the whole indictment and the What's your take away? Well, we knew it was going to be first smoke Morning, guys. We knew it was going to be about fringe benefits kind of these paid paying import employees off the books. They weren't declaring it. I was surprised at what the charges were when I read grand larceny scheme to defraud conspiracy That's very serious. And when you add that up for Y Solberg, if you were potentially convicted across the board, that's significant prison time, and I think that was the biggest surprise for me. Now, having said that We didn't see anything in the indictment about bank fraud or insurance fraud, which we were expecting to see. Now the question becomes. Your prosecutors still have evidence of that, But they don't want to show it yet. They might have it in their back pocket, maybe against Weisberg or what I think is they really want to get trump on those charges, and they need y Silberg. Remember, they need y Silberg to build a case against Trump or his family members. Nobody cares. About Alan Weisberg. They care about the Trump family. So I think this is step one and a very big step for the prosecution. Jesse they care about the Trump family because they hate Trump. This is a witch hunt. And what is going on here is Democrats want to punish their political opponents? And I think what's fair is fair. I think Republicans should be going after progressive causes like black lives matter. I would love to know what the fundraising situation is like that black lives matter. We've got a war going on in this country and republic. Should give as good as they get. Well, I think there's a couple of things there one. I never liked the idea of using the legal system for political means. But I will say this, you're right. No one would have cared about Trump if he hadn't run for president became president. Having said that if someone breaks the law of someone commits an offense, and you're just discovering it now because they put themselves in the spotlight whether it is BLM, whether it is, uh Trump or his family. If you break the law, you break the law, How you discover it. If you're a prosecutor is that's just the way it is. It's not as if they're fabricating charges. Now they do have to prove their case. This is just step one. If it ultimately you know the job. Issenberg Trump Organization beats that. Going to be a very big day in a very big win for Trump. But having said that these charges are relatively easier to prove than other kind of charges in the past. Well, I mean, the argument is going to be that most companies do stuff like this. So where does the no they do? What is the grand larceny? Come in, Jesse. Stealing money. That's the basically I had the idea here is that and by the way, a lot of this is when you read the indictment was documented in kind of accounting spreadsheets, which again it's kind of hard to argue against. If the idea is you're paying employees, they're receiving benefits. They don't declare it. They don't pay taxes. The company doesn't pay payroll taxes on it. How do you explain that? Now? There are loopholes. There are the loopholes. There are exceptions in the fringe benefit law. It just becomes really hard to explain that away, particularly when Y cell Or didn't declare himself a New York resident. I believe until 2013 and he had been living in New York for years before then how do you explain it? I'm going to be very curious to see how they explain it. Jesse If this were any other company besides the Trump organization, do you really believe that side? Vance would have had Weisberg handcuffed when he was facing these charges? Come on. That's funny. You should say that I've gotten a lot of questions about the handcuffs. You can you are convicted. Excuse me. You are accused of a crime, whether it's a white collar crime. Whether it's a physical, violent crime. You get handcuffed. That's the proper procedure. They took the handcuffs off. He was released on his own recognizance. Passports were taken away. There was nothing that I saw that was done out of the ordinary, however. Seeing that image of the Trump organization, CFO and handcuffs walking through court. It was a very stirring image. And yes, uh, there is a part of this that the Trump organization would never have been investigated. As I said, if Trump never ran for president. Having said that we have seen other companies in the past, we didn't have a political connection that were brought down because of taxes because of These kinds of stealing money. These kinds of Ponzi schemes. No, I'm not think this a Ponzi scheme here, but these financial crimes or something that we've seen inflicted upon large companies in the past. We're speaking with Jesse Weber, Our buddy who is a host on the long crime networking, also co host with his dad. W. O R is always in fashion airs tomorrow night at eight o'clock on Sunday night at seven o'clock. Well, how typical is that I happen to think, and I'm not the lawyer. But I happen to think, uh, Weissenberger is not the big fish here. They're going to go up the food chain. Maybe hit Trump's kids eventually try to get to trump. How typical is it to come out with indictments like this that are relatively lower on the wrong and they don't reveal all their cards. Difficult. They needed something against Weissenberger. They needed something to pressure him. And at this point, remember, it's we're in July five Answer isn't leaving for several months. There are ideas. Okay, Let's get Weisberg to cooperate, and we would put more pressure on and say, Hey, we got stuff against your kid, Barry as well. Maybe he'll cooperate over the summer. Give us more information. We have that We have Trump's taxes. We could build a case against Trump and his family by the hall. That's where they're going right now. As I said they might actually have more against Weissenberger. Although I think if they had more against them, they would have really come out with it yesterday. This is significant form, and he has to decide if he wants to beat the charges if he wants to fight it, and if he wants to stay loyal to the president, because Alan Weissenberger guy who's known Trump, since 1973 has all the answers. He knows everything about the financial dealings of that family. And if you want to build a case against the former president, his family That's you go after Weisberg. Well, I mean, do you really think this guy is going to flip? He's been a loyal soldier in the trump Empire for a long, long time. Um, And you know where everything we know about the trump people is their fighters. I mean, he could fight this and and could win. Will say there's probably no one more loyal than while Silberg. Having said that the prospect of going to prison the prospect of your family getting in legal jeopardy. I don't know who is that loyal that they would turn on their own family to save someone else. Now, I'm speculating. I don't know anything about Alan Whitesburg. I just see it from the outside. As the case progresses as they look more at the evidence against them, he's going to have to make a decision. If you want to fight this does he think he can beat it? Does he think even if he gets convicted that he might not go to prison? Maybe you'll get a probation. Maybe you'll only spend a year behind bars. Is that something he can take? And maybe Trump Trump has said to him. Listen, you know, I'll support you'll support your family..

"Agree on this. I mean, the prosecutor said to him. If you cooperate in the civil case, we won't bring criminal charges against you. He cooperated and they turned the tables on them. They did brought the criminal charges against him. And that is just not fair, but he's still also, I'm ball anyway. You slice it, but legally, uh, they probably made the right call. Absolutely. Also in the big three. Oh, boy. Here comes the witch hunt folks. Yes, Cy Vance, that fearless crusader for truth and justice. He's the one who let Harvey Weinstein go away with the rape charges back in the day. But he's on top of the Trump Thing. The Trump organization springing indictments against the Trump Organization. Get this because the CEO at the Trump Organization who he had a He had a free car and they paid the tuition for his kids. And he had a low interest apartment. All the things most people who are in the corporate world when they rise up to that level, get as part of their as part of their compensation package. But Nope, because it's trump. We gotta go after Trump the left and Len Burman won't rest until they see Donald Trump in jail. Running out the Big three. You didn't listen to what I said. Once again. You've mischaracterized what I've said. I've always said I don't like to see former presidents in jail. We were just discussing the last segment. We you weren't what station were you listening to? Michael? Well, I mean, I think you agree with me that Biden should issue a blanket pardon right now for Trump. I didn't say that either. Who come back to us, Mikey? Yeah, and writing out the Big three. Well, they're counting those ballots for the mayor's race. And do we have a sense? Gnome when this thing is going to be decided, Is it ever going to be decided? It feels like it's gone forever. But if we should know in the next week or so, until accounts all these absentee ballots who is the winner is so but I guess I was gonna say these candidates have substantial room to make up to beat Eric Adams. But it could be done because there's about 125,000 absentee ballots to be counted. Well, he still leads. But Katherine Garcia is nipping at his heels and Maya Wiley. She's coming behind. God. Yeah, Maya Wiley gets in. I'm out of here I am Alan. This city is going to fall apart if Maya Wiley gets in All right, let's check in with our pal Jesse Weber. He hosts the law and crime network. And he's the co host of W O R is always in fashion. Which airs Saturday. Eight o'clock at night, Sunday, seven o'clock at night. Good Morning, Jesse. How you doing? Hey, Jess. Good mor. Good morning, guys. Good to be on with you. What a what a big legal development across the world. All right. We'll just lay it out for us. How come the court decided to Spring Cosby? I gotta tell you. I'm surprised that this but it makes total sense. Look back in the day when Bill Cosby was being investigated about what he did to under a Comstat Bruce Castor, who is the D A said that that case felt very weak. He didn't think that there would be a successful prosecution, but he felt bad. So he said, Look, you know she's going to follow the civil lawsuit. I'll tell you what. Bill, if you decide to provide a deposition, you decided to testify in this case. I'm gonna make sure That you do not get prosecuted in the future. Bill Cosby relied on that he provided deposition where he admitted he gave women Quaaludes. He admitted to having a sexual relationship with Andrea Constand. That case ultimately settled. And then when Bruce Castor was out, the new people that were in charge of the the new prosecutors came in, took those statements and then charged Bill Cosby. It isn't fair to him. It isn't fair, and it didn't make sense. But it was used against him and looked at the highest court in Pennsylvania agreed with him and they overturned those convictions. Now I want to be very clear, and you mentioned this in your opening that doesn't negate What Bill Cosby did. It doesn't negate the fact that a jury found him guilty and it doesn't negate the fact that all these women came forward and accused him of sexual assault at the end of the day. This doesn't exonerate him. It's not like it was a murder case, and the real murderer stood up and said, I did it. Everybody knows what Bill Cosby did. Because of this procedural issue. He is a free man. And from a legal point of view that makes sense. Well, but my question Jesse is why they didn't make a bigger deal out of this when the trial was unfolding or before it began. Why did they jump up and down? Why weren't they screaming to the stars that they've been screwed here? Oh, they did. They did. But the lower courts felt that since this agreement was never in writing did it really, really happened? I mean, it's one word one person's word against another. And then the other idea was well, you know again, if it's not in writing, you know, did Cosby really rely on this and it's his own fault. It's his own fault. He relied on a verbal agreement. No, that doesn't make sense. He needed a written agreement. You rely on these kinds of assurances from a D A. Doesn't make sense. You took that risk. You said what you said. It can be used against you. The higher court in Pennsylvania disagreed and said, Look, a prosecutor has a lot of power and whether it's written whether it was verbal. It was very clear that Cosby relied on it. After all. Why did he say the things that he said in that civil deposition, He said it because he relied on the insurances. Of the D. A. It's very clear and ultimately the highest. The highest court in Pennsylvania, agreed with Cosby and disagree with the lower court's decision. Now any chance that he can be brought up on Other charges, or is he basically, you know, going to spend the rest of his life out of jail with respect to these charges?.

"Was the roaring twenties that this country was the most prohibited. There's nothing more powerful than an idea. The time has come. Craps except for the government, telling the American public what we can and we cannot do this time that idea the government had a partner. Let's be honest. The partner was in science. Not since the roaring twenties. Have we been so prohibitive? This time it was in politics, although we managed to make it so this time it was survival. And the country was split over age, fitness and, frankly, survival of fitness. It was a generational disagreement. A generational war, The old versus the young as it began. And then it became multigenerational survival. Now we're looking at this problem. Thank God in our rear view mirror. The error of abstinence has become the error of anything goes. The power of America's pent up demand is felt everywhere. Last time this country was this afflicted and was living in denial was the roaring twenties. No alcohol, it was prohibited Abstinence. Interestingly enough, more alcohol was consumed during that time than any other time in our history. However, this time was There was no nothing. House arrests. No people, no places. No things we've been freed. There's a pent up demand for everything for socializing for outside for people contact for food, travel, cars, fashion, clothes, shoes, handbags, stuff, luxury. Everything we want. We have to have now those guys in Amazon and the rest of them. They better get cooking. We don't want to wait. We buy it. I want it delivered tomorrow. We have pent up demand like well let out of prison with money to spend on anything and everything. And frankly, we're living in the roaring 20 twenties. We're busting out, baby, the world should boom. The world is booming from undressed and nowhere to go to all dressed up in everywhere to go. Economy's thriving businesses are opening businesses turning around rapidly and they're looking at record performances, stimulus checks stimulated to spend and it's summer. This is the perfect storm. Now, once again, I'm watching And I'm thinking I'm curious as to what is actually going on. Remember growing updating, wasn't it playing hard to get? That was the most attractive to all of us, Wasn't it? That what we couldn't have? We wanted the most. In real life. Now I think of the treadmill, not for working out. Think of that mouse on that treadmill chasing the cheese keeps running harder and harder and harder, but the prize is always out of reach. Today's consumers of fighting to buy The entirety of luxury is kissed out of reach impossible to capture the higher demand. The less supply prices are escalating Inflation costs a rep. ADI Rising The guest is up a dollar per gallon since Biden took office. Who cares? We just want. It's like that date I mentioned before the harder to get the more we wanted. Do we like waiting for things? No. Amazon, everyone, you better ship faster. This anticipation increased desire ability. Not now. It doesn't. It makes us incense then crazy. We want what we want now, but we want it. But say LA vee life is life. There's just not enough of what we want out there. As an aside someone should point out During the dark era. Thankfully, essentials were never cut off. There was a former president who got no credit for keeping the country running. As a former president got no credit by the way for warp speed in the vaccine zero no credit. That's a story for another time. This country has a pent up demand the likes we've never seen to have fun to recreate defecation the party to spend spend and spend. Businesses are going crazy and they're raising and raising their prices. You know why? Because they can In spite of this, It's a great time. It's a good time. I'm certainly excited and smiling. I'm careful. I'm coming back to the world at my own pace, but I'm venturing out into this world. And tonight. I want to explore the business of this time. Our time, the roaring 20 twenties now always fun and always roaring to go. My son, my lawyer, my coz my traveling companion and my partner and everything and nothing. Jesse Weber. Hey there. Hey, there. Hey there. Yeah, it really is, Uh, amazing. Amazing time and I find now and I hope everybody is feeling the same way. That they're appreciating everything they're appreciating in the world and appreciating life in a way that they haven't before. I mean, that's the way to really look at everything that's happened, the little things that you just never thought about walking down the street breathing air being around people who would have ever thought that that's something you took advantage of. And I love this time. You know, I've often been quoted just You heard me the hardest arithmetic two masters that which enables us to count our blessings. And we all should be counting our blessings. We're getting a chance. So what else? Jesse? What else you got going on? Are you excited? What are you doing? What's happening? Well, I'll give you a great example this past weekend. My girlfriend and I walked too so whole, we walked all these different stores into these different stores shopped around. Had lunch went out to dinner. To do these things was absolutely amazing. I hadn't felt it since before the pandemic and the city was alive. There was so many people out and SoHo happy enjoying the time and I loved every single second of it. And you know what? I did What? I put my phone away. I didn't look at my phone. I was just enjoying the moment I was in the moment. And it was absolutely fantastic. What about you? Well, I would say, unlike most of you, including you out there I've always appreciated the little things have never been boards. Throughout my house arrest I kept busy. I walked. I appreciated nature. Every time I was off, I thought about enjoying the time off. I'm guessing I'm thinking like a newborn might think. You look out. He he or she, the newborn looks at everything is new. Learning the new world more than a little bit frightened or concerned but excited with each step. Losing my wife in and of itself created a new and different world for me, But when people ask, I tell them I feel like Tom Hanks in the movie Big. You see me? I'm a grown up, but I'm really a child in an adult body..

"It takes a lot to surprise me. Shocking. There's a whole other level. You never want to be surprised and shocked isn't even a consideration. Life who humans never cease to amaze. Once in a while, in a good way More times than not, you must disappoint. The world gives you lemons make lemonade setbacks of the first step for starting over. It's not how far you faults. How are you bounced back? Everything can disappoint. Everyone makes mistakes. We all fail at something. And what you do with disappointment sets the tone for your life for as long as I can remember. I've had a mantra. I'm not going to let it bring me down. And from there, I get another chance. I'm not going to let it bring me down. I'll rise above it. People disappoint. Sure, but I can't let them be the reason to disappoint myself. I've been watching the world I've been watching my fellow man. I suppose. At times, we can't help ourselves. There's just no code anymore. Sometimes we don't know any better. It seems to me we want to tear down our heroes and then root for their comebacks. I've noticed. Of course, it's hard out there. The path to success. Happiness is fraught with challenges. Frankly, there's no clear path. It's on us to improvise. Clearly some of us find something some of us many. Something's a site Few, maybe everything we all should strive that which gives us life's simple pleasures. And as long as the next guy doesn't interfere with my search Good luck to them. I'm an observer. I can't help but notice my fellow man. I too want to help the times. There are times I want to point out areas for improvement. Most times, I just smile and myself thinking of the bewildering behavior of humans. I say, You know what? Just let them hang themselves. The famous Chinese General Lao Soup said, never interrupt an enemy when he's making mistake. Therefore, I'll just watch. There's so many character traits that raised their head every week. There's joy, this appreciation. I've watched the athletes. They're like kids. Their joy is amazing. Then, of course, this envy and jealousy, But in my experience with bothers me more than anything, people are so quick to make up their minds. And they're often wrong. Never in doubt. The first time I heard that expression was from industrial psychologists were discussing a guy we were working with, and he was driving me crazy, looked at me and said he's often wrong but never in doubt. Marquis is bright eyes, and that means he's into it. So I I learned if you have bright eyes and your spirit is in the right place. I'll forgive it no matter what, but I am not going to let you bring me down. I won't let it bring me down. I appreciate the subtleties of life, particularly now when we're all getting another chance. I'm responsible for my own well being. It's interesting being in it and watching it. The world and all its revolutions. We work we play. We live. We learn. We try and find that elusive AM Penis. Find the world fascinating. I find people more so Find the air opinions. Ridiculous. I found behavior obnoxious. I find disappointment every which way I turn But I look at it is their problem, not mine. Yet I'm happy. I'm getting happier. I'm getting happier and happier every week. Life as we know it is getting closer and closer. And yet, Oh, well. I'm not going to let anything. Bring me down now on the upside, he who always brings a smile to my face. My son, my co host and lawyer, Jesse Weber. Hey there. Well, that is a good introduction for me. But unfortunately I see. We're back to humans being disappointing, huh? That's a that's a real shocker. I thought you moved on from that. I thought so, too. But this week Mind provoking stuff, got me back and denigrating the human race. I went to the post office the other day I had to go in there hadn't said something registered and certified. I walked into the post office. It was like a war zone. All the plexiglass were up all the places to stand. Six ft. Apart were all laid out on the floor. Every single human in the post office, whether they were working there, or visiting were all messed up. Can you tell me what that means? I got to tell you, Jesse, this the government. These are giving us the rules and restrictions and hear their own post office is locked up like we're in a award in a hospital. What's going on here? I mean, unless they're all not vaccinated, right? If you follow the CDC, all those people were not vaccinated and they have to wear all the protective gear. But other than that, I don't know. I really have no idea. It almost feels like they know something We don't You notice John Rum? You want to talk sports for a second? You want to talk about that? My gosh. What? Let's explain what this is. Okay, So Jon Rahm, Spanish golfer 26 Year old, one of the best in the world this past weekend, he was playing incredible in one of the tournaments, the memorial tournament. Let me explain this. He got an ace. He was six shots ahead. He was looking to run away on Sunday with this thing and he was going to win. I think over $1.6 million, which would have been a great start, he would have moved into the following weekend. I think a major is coming up. And what happens what happens after this great round? They captured this on tape. The officials come up to him. Yeah, he's coming off the 18th hole. Yeah, he's coming off the 18th hole. There's two officials waiting for him and they tell them He tested positive for Covid. His reaction was obviously devastated. Here's what we learned the PGA only tests players who are unvaccinated So now we're all thinking he didn't get vaccinated and he hasn't come out and confirmed it or not, but it's clear he didn't get vaccinated him because he didn't get vaccinated. He lost the tournament. He lost $1.6 million. And I think it was a huge mistake on his part huge. You know what bothered me about a thing. They didn't want to say if he was vaccinated or not, they were taking the politically correct route. And everybody's wondering, Was he vaccination? Wasn't we've accident? One of this been one of the most important times ever to be clear and concise, right at the beginning, But worse yet. You would think once we found out he wasn't vaccinated that he made the decision not to be. That the media would have been all over it and made a big issue. Defend Biden and company were trying to get people to be vaccinated. You wouldn't think that was the lead story and every night and it wasn't and I was really taken aback by that. The problem is, it's still a personal decision and a lot of respects and that P J doesn't want to get political they try not to, and unfortunately, the Covid vaccine has become a political issue. I'm sick of all this politically correct stuff, particularly when it surrounds covid. But you know what? Listen, I have said that I am very much involved in sports now, at least from a perspective of viewing sports. Sports helped me get through the whole covid.

"Big three headlines this morning. Well, water stemwinder of a speech last night that Joe Biden gave a lot of people fell asleep, including. I think Ted Cruz. Well, it was going on. But here's the big thing. You need to know, folks. We are embarking on the socialist experiment in this country. Everything that you want everything you desire. Everything you need is going to be taken care of by the United States Government under Grandpa Joe Biden and who's going to pay for it? All those evil rich people. All those evil corporations. Those terrible corporations that have provided many of you with jobs, but they're bad. They're evil. We have to confiscate their profits so we can give us all a great living where we don't have to do anything. Welcome to socialism, folks. We are on the road in America to serfdom. Also in the Big three. Scott Stringer denies the allegation. He's running for mayor. Of course, he denies the allegation that he groped harassed a woman. She came out Gene Kim. Her name is yesterday, saying that 20 years ago he groped and harassed her. Scott Stringer says no belt consensual affair, he said. She said, I don't know where you go with that. But he said, she said, we'll see how that plays out and rounding out the Big three, The feds raided Rudy Giuliani's apartment and his house. Looking for stuff, I guess about his involvement in Ukraine a little concerned about this because I think there's a part on Democrats who now control a lot of levers of justice to punish people. Who supported Donald Trump. So raids on people's houses really kind of bother me, but we'll try to get to the bottom of this what it's all about with our legal eagle, Jesse Webber. He hosts the law and Crime network, and he's the co host of W of ours. Always in fashion, which airs right here in this radio station Saturdays at eight o'clock and Sunday at seven o'clock tonight. Welcome to the program, Jesse. Morning, guys happy to be back with you. Jesse and I'm just being paranoid here, Or is there something to the fact that Ah, lot of people like you know Leticia James Cy Vance, These people who have a lot of power in the legal world who hated Trump and everyone around trump so much they want to investigate. They want to persecute. They want to go after people my being paranoid. There's there was legitimate reasons to raid Rudy Giuliani's house. Who's being paranoid. Put him away. Jesse. Look, I think is a officials and lawyers. They're not just going to go after people for political reasons. I mean, this is a legal and political justification here, because think about it like this first, we'll talk politics, right? If they go and raid ready. Julie's ready Rudy Giuliani's apartment and his office without any evidence that they don't ultimately find anything. Then it makes them look awful. It makes it look like this is political, and it makes it look like they had no justification. They're not going to do that. And the reason I say they're not gonna do this When you go forward with a search warrant in a raid, you have to have significant probable cause particularly when you're going after somebody. Who's a former mayor and attorney and a high profile individual. You're not going to go after them unless you feel that there is credible evidence of criminal wrongdoing, so they know they're something they might already have something, but they want to even corroborate their evidence even more, and it's my understanding that a grand jury has been impaneled and we might hear more of what happened to the next month or so. So this is not political, because at the end of the day if Rudy Giuliani or anybody did something illegal, that's what we're talking about. So just take us through the process who goes to whom? With this evidence, and therefore they get a warrant. How does how does that work? Well, these investigators it's a combination between the Department of Justice. You have to imagine the Southern district of New York prosecutors and they have to go to court to ultimately get a warrant and you have to have probable cause you can't just have a hunch up. You know, I think there's something bad and Rudy Giuliani's apartment and office. No, they already know there's something whether it's Legal for, you know, foreign lobbying. If it's money laundering. If it's tax evasion, it could be campaign finance violations. They already know something they already have something and remember, there were prior associates of Giuliani left partners equal Furman, who already wrapped up in this, and you think that they might have already turned a Giuliani. Now again, we think that there is going to be a grand jury that has been impaneled and we might see more testimony. We're not going to see it. But the grand jury would see it by the end of the month. And I think even Rudy Giuliani's longtime assistant has been subpoenaed. They're building a case against him, and this is a crucial step and a very scary step for Rudy Giuliani. So is this isn't significant, Jesse that Giuliani himself had very little to say yesterday he left it to his son to defend him. I mean, is he thinking? God, I'm I am in trouble, and I can't say much anymore. He released a statement through his lawyer. This is what you would expect to happen. I know that he actually is a radio host that he was supposed to appear yesterday. He did in the fill in host had to come on. I'm not surprised when a big legal development happens like this. You let your lawyer take care of it now. I don't know if he had any coordination with his son on this. I know his son is thinking about a political future, and obviously he's very out. Spoken in this Maybe his independent decision. But when people are the target of a raid like this, you don't usually hear them Unless, of course, you're Roger Stone. If you're Roger Stone, you might come out and say something. But Giuliani is an experienced lawyer. He's not going to say anything at this point, except for his legal counsel. Wrong with Jesse Weber host on the lawn crime that worked a Jesse. I guess we're assuming that Rudy is the target of this at all possible that they have bigger fish to fry that he's just the next rung of the ladder that maybe they're going after Trump on someone else..

The play right in the middle of it. Just seen I now talking and we got here How we got on radio. If you miss the first portion of the show, I could tell you. I am public Enemy number one at my former company. I had a run in with the head of the station him and I never got anywhere together. He talked to me like I was a fool. But nonetheless, uh what can I tell you? I Don't have any regrets, although if you're listening to this, I can tell you It's not a good idea to shout out the boss of the company and embarrass him in front of the people who work for him do is I say not as I do. Oh, yeah, exactly. Exactly. That's the lesson for tonight. Don't listen to me In this regard. I could shoot myself in the foot better than anyone, but how to get out it. I knew it just was never work out. I had more patients than anyone. We showed up. Always on time. We did what we needed to do. We had a great working relationship with everyone there. With everyone. I love seeing Joan Hamburg. She was great to talk to Curtis. Leo. I was one of my favorite people in the world. All the engineers. They're all the people we work with. I mean, it seems like every time we shut up, we have new engineer. We're talking about pissed off. How about the time Jesse? You and I showed up to record One of the engineers was a woman and she decided to have dinner while we recorded and we walk into the studio, and the whole thing smells like Salad dressing. I mean, I couldn't take the aroma and she's sitting there and chewing. I'm watching the food in the mouth and we're recording and doing the show. It was just like crazed. You remember that one? You got so angry? Guess what happened. She wasn't eating the next time we were in there. She started bringing Berries. Yeah, well when she found out what I had said, of course, the Hub force. I mean, public enemy number one had so many people that dislike me that But all I did is kept working hard, bringing in great sponsorships of making great shows. But as we went along, you know it became clear that this would never happen for us. I knew this would never happen. One of my favorite stories is we were invited. Joan Hamburg has an event every year, which invites people in this time. Try to remember what hotel it is 200 with listeners. Come, they serve a lunch, they over get invited. But if the pay and they had Who's there yet? They had Bryan Cranston. They had been Stiller. The Rockets were there. Joy Behar was incredible event that occurred to me that why don't we do a fashion event? Why don't we get Macy's in sponsorship with us? Val bring the designers that too exclusive things for them in their store. Sean John, Tommy Hilfiger. Donna Karen, Why don't we invite them in? We'll have the thing. We'll do it at Macy's. They turned it over to the head of production in their head of marketing, and I guess it's three years later. I'm still waiting for the event, but that's not it. Okay. I knew things were not good. I wasn't liked. I tried so much to look aside, all I wanted to do. Get a little respect, but really what we wanted to do. I wanted to be syndicated. I wanted to be in every city in America. Tell me the show wasn't good. Tell me it will never be good, fine. I'll put my tail between my legs. I'll disappear. It's not a vanity project for me. I didn't put in this effort for no return. I did it with a goal in mind. First, I wanted to get on the air that I wanted to do A quality show. Then I want to just see to be proud of what we were doing. Then I wanted to grow the show. We got sponsorships all over the place. We get so much sponsorship money. It doesn't even go on our show goes throughout the whole network. Just people are behind this. They believed in fashion. They believed in us and it was amazing. But as time went on, and you watched the Radio business. I talked earlier about the amount of bankruptcies cumulus was bankrupts. That guilt came from the fact that Everyone's competing to acquire stations somewhere along the way, the more stations you had, the more viable you would be. I'm sure there was synergy and on and on and on and on. But it bankrupted them. They paid a lot of money for each station, and apparently they didn't get the returns involved. But all of them came out of bankruptcy in the working then one day out of the blue We hear a rumor The cumulus media is going to sell W A. B. C. Humus is selling their flagship station, one of the most iconic stations in all of America. They're selling that. What is that about? I could just sell that. Sorry. I was beside myself in Hyde side. I will tell you a story. I was after the fact I asked about it. I kept being told. Listen, don't worry. You're one of the key players here. Forget your relationships. We the people that sell these products. We, the people who put these good side and we really believe in you show this show's going someplace and stay with us and blah, blah, blah. And don't worry. You're gonna make the cut if we sell it. Bring the paper in June. Guy named John Custom in the eighties. He is a billionaire. He is the founder of breast. Edie's is a very impressive guy he decides to buy this station. But when I look at it, they bought it for $12 million If I had any inkling that there was selling that station for $12 billion Have to see you ever walked outside. Our officers said hello to me and told me, you know, Marc, we love you. Don't worry. We may so I would have tried to buy it. Not with my own money. If I'd thrown a few shekels I might have. But you know what? I know Bankers. People are always looking to invest. $12 million is relatively nothing. Now What I don't know is whether or not they were losing money every year or whether we're coming there over him, But they sold their flagship station, and now you know the writing's on the wall. I mean, what was I gonna do? Be it This one station I remember sitting down with those guys. I said, you know what's the future here? You going from 400 stations. Now there's only gonna be one station. It looks amazing. What do you know? How do you know? We're gonna only be one station? And I looked at him and I said, Well, If I understand it correctly. I read the release The June 1 you entered into an agreement for John customer needs to sell it. It's called Red Apple Media. And he has no other radio stations. It's the only one he said. Well, you don't know if they're gonna buy Morris and I don't know. All I know is I'm asking you There's one station you and then we go in there and yes and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. S so I'm looking at this. I'm saying myself. My goodness, what's gonna happen here And now if you're just tuning it, This is Mark Webber and Jesse Weber. We're going to talk about thinking tonight I changed it..

If he's convicted, he could potentially not be able to run again. The Constitution puts the safeguards in place to make sure that politicians do not abuse their power. And he was impeached while he was the president. And now the question is, could it be possible that he doesn't run again? I think this is a wake up call for a lot of people and a lot of politicians both on the right and the left that you have to be very careful with what you say, because you're in a position. Unlike any private citizen, and I think whatever happens here in this impeachment trial, it's gonna be a wake up call that you have to be careful who you're speaking to and what could happen and I think that's a good thing for both sides. Well, but Jesse that the only thing that gives me pause there is we have a tradition in this country of fiery political rhetoric. And, you know, I think I'm upon the First Amendment absolutist. I think both sides in the heated political debate do have the rightto make fiery barnstorming speeches. Absolutely. It is their right and particularly politicians. It is a First Amendment right and you can go to a slippery slope. When you start policing what people say It's very different than when you police what people do policing what people said. Shays really is very, very delicate line and that's why we do have you know such strong first remember protections, but it's not absolute. And at this point When you're dealing with a situation where there's a really divisive time and high emotions were dealing about January 6 New administration coming and everybody thinks there's a fake election here in all the supporters. You have to be very careful with the words that you chose, and I don't think that he when he said March peacefully, that might have been somebody told him Or maybe he thought in the back of the head. Maybe I do need to calm this down a bit. Maybe I have to tell them to march peacefully because I think at that moment the pressure was on the climate was really hot. You have to know your environment. You have to know your audience. Jesse Weber Long Crime Network and a host of W O R is always in fashion Saturdays. Eight at night. Sundays is thanks, Jessie. What's the guy's name on second base? I'm not asking you who's on seconds on first. I don't know He's on Friday. We're not talking about him. How did I get on third base? You mentioned his thing. If I mentioned a third baseman's name, food that I say is playing third, who's playing first day off the first, will you? What do you want me to do that? What's the guy's name on third base? What's on second? I know asking you who's on second zone first. I don't know who's on third. All right. Go back on third again, but I can't change their names. And what did that proof? How simple life is and how confusing we humans make it. Where are we? I'm not giving this up. Do you think I'm a dummy? Mm. Of course not. Then why are we doing this? I don't know is on third base. Exactly. You think this is clever? I thought so. This is all to make the point that in the world everything is a simple is. Yes, sir. No. I told you not to dummy. All right. Well, thank you for that. I don't know where you would really want to go with this. But being that you're talking about dummies. Last week show You did talk about taxing for dummies. And when you did that we got a lot of mail this week and by mail, I mean a lot of messages on social media. And there was one message we've gotten, and I brought back to my mind to this. It was about taxing the rich and I want to read it. And I want to get your point of view on it. But first I want to start by saying that this sounds exactly like a sound bite. You would hear on the news, The talking points and politics kind of drives me crazy. Let me just read you what he said. Okay, sure. Mark Thanks again for another show from the heart this past weekend. I always enjoy your monologue. But I love the banter between you and Jesse even more great discussion and can feel the love between you two. My only comment is regarding the election and taxes. I agree with you. But what isn't fair is for rich guys, whether it's trump or basis, or Apple or Amazon. They should be paying their fair share. People seem so upset by the idea of socialism. And yet we have corporate socialism that lets the big successful companies and tycoons from paying their fair share and that's aggravating. The problem is our complicated tax code that encourages these fat cats to game. The system. I hope we can simplify the tax code, so we're all on a level playing field. Do you think about that? He's a dummy. Okay, guys, a dummy. I do all this stuff. Let me give you two points. One. I do all this hard work trying to think about what to say. I'm you're asking me my opinion. I give you my opinion on whether the audience like you goes on and on and on. Well, I mean, I can't blame them. They're secondarily. The issue is is I'm glad you read this, because, as I said, we got a lot of things converging tonight. Mark Webber. Jesse Weber. We're talking about life for dummies right now. This guy completely ignored everything I said last week, so I I thought about the snow and I have to tell you a story. My first job. Was when I was 14 years old. Started shoveling snow during snowstorms. Step back a second. You know, I lived in the apartment with my parents and I didn't own a shovel. So I borrowed money from my parents. And I said, Can you let me buy a shovel? I don't remember. It's five or $10 of the time, but I went and I bought a shovel. Down the block. I lived in the city projects all apartment building, so there's no way to shovel but down the block one block down for a bunch of blocks to a private homes. I always saw people shoveling there, so I bought my shovel and I walk down the block and I knocked on the door. Would you like your driveway shuffle? Sure enough, the first person I went to said yes. So she said, how much I had no idea what to say. I said $15 so she said $10, I said, okay. So I started to shovel. And I finished. I do a nice job. The woman gives me $10. But I got to tell you. It was so hard on that particular day at work from eight in the morning to eight o'clock at night. I got home and I collapsed. The important part about this has to deal with This nonsense coming from this dummy about taxing the rich. I don't want to take a moment to make believe I was a different person. They believe I was an entrepreneur. And at the end of the day as I counted my money, and I realized this could be an exciting business. Hold my parents five or $10, but I said to myself, Let me think, how could I turn this into a business? How many houses that I shovel tonight. And I realized that I shoveled one every 1.5 hours. It's a lot of work. You have to stop. Even though I was was young as 14. It was a lot of work. So you know, I said I did. Maybe six or eight for the day. I never sorry. $80.60 dollars, whatever it was, but I asked myself while I'm lying there in bed. How could I doom or I said the only way you could do Maura's if you shovel them quicker. Let's say instead of an hour and a half, I didn't name of power. I could double my output from eight houses to 16 or 20. Now I get to 20 houses. By the time I finished my first house, probably all the other houses will be shoveled ready and it occurred to me. I would need a scout. We need to hire someone. Tell.

"Must tell you whether we agree with all the things they do or not. I'm going to tell you what the last few presidents have to say. I loved when President Obama explained his policies by saying He wants a country where we all get a shot. President Trump Like him dislike him. He wanted a country where all of us working no unemployment, every ethnic group improving this standard of living, and President Biden at the moment remains to be seen. He's saying many wonderful things. Is he doing the right things? Benjamin Franklin said. Well done is better than well, said He's being heralded for suggesting to raise taxes on the rich. Why what the rich do wrong other than be successful within our system on, believe me, they pay the graduated taxes for in excess of what people have every other socio economic level pace and taxes. They're paying their fair share. Get Here we have a president. That's the everyday common man. Was being criticized for wearing a Rolex watch the world gone crazy. This man rose up from humble beginnings and became the president of the United States. Candy by what he wants with the money he earned. Can his wife buy him a gift? If they can afford it. Why are we looking at this? Where is the common sense? Clearly what we need now is some common sense in this country. Unfortunately, common sense is not so common. Today. Our show is entitled, Mr President. And in that regard I have some thoughts I'd like to share with the new president. I have some thoughts on corporate presidents I'd like to share And I have some thoughts from you from me. As a former president. Mr President, though I do want to remind you success is always in fashion. I hope Even in the Godfather, one of the greatest movies of all time they dealt with success on Colleoni had all the judges and the politicians in New York Then he must share all about this useful. He must let us draw the water from the well. Certainly he can present a bill for such services. After all. You're not coming. Even they know you're entitled to be paid for your hard work. It's the present where your overlooks We're not Communists joining me. On his way to success. My son, my co host My lawyer, Jesse Weber. Hey, Jesse, what's going on? Hey, wait. I want to talk about the Biden thing. All right, let me just talk about the Biden thing real quick because The issue with Biden in the position he's put himself in is that he's the everyday man on the common man. I'm just like you. Hey, everybody out there. I'm just like you. I'm right there and right. I've done it up in the coal mines have done it. So now the fact that he boxed himself into this position, but he's wearing a Rolex off very expensive watch that. A lot of people can't afford would ever be able to get. That's why he's put in that position. And may I respectfully disagree with you. How? I don't care whether it is the common man or not. Everyone's entitled to buy what they like what they can afford. I see women. When I worked at feet tone, I saw women who obviously was stretching to buy a veto on hand deck. It made them feel good, so they bought it. Well, Let me ask you a question. Okay? Yeah. Bernie Sanders, Bernie Sanders. That guy has a lot more money than he's claiming he does. Do you see him buying fancy things? No. He's all about the I'm all about the mittens. Mark, Look at these mittens somewhere. These missions are great, You know, job job job job, told the president he wears his Rolex is expensive. He's the 1%. I am not the 1%. Mark. Look at these mittens. Everybody talks about the Mai. I became a mean my mom. Come Where these this jacket that's falling apart. That's me. I'm them every day, man. That's what he does, Mr Sanders. You know what you are. You're a limousine liberal. You're one of those guys that think you don't care where the line is Drawn. As long as the line is behind you. You got more money than you wanna admit it. And you know what you're entitled to. If you haven't embezzled, you haven't stolen. I don't care how much money you have. And the fact that you could afford to fight for the common man. Good. Go right ahead, do whatever you want, but leave everybody else alone. Everybody's entitled to be happy. Certainly you are. You got all the money that you want. You need multiple houses living in multiple places. You have no right to criticize anyone. That's one man's opinion. I just think they're being ashamed for having money. And I think that's a separate point. But look, I I think the world is absolutely going crazy. I think it is and I don't think it's our fault because no one's clear. Like, OK, the national debt, right? Yeah. Does anyone understand the national that no one understand that? No one cares about it. We're never gonna pay that back. The entire GNP is $4 Trillion. That's all the government collects. Our budget is more than four trillion. It can't get anything but worse and all this talk. We're gonna put the burden on our Children. Put the butter in our Children on the Children. What's happening to me? What's the burden? I don't understand it. Let's do another one. The student loan forgiveness something you've also mentioned on the show. What lesson does that send? You made a promise. You said you'd pay the money back, and now we have this new system. If the state government schools air free, like up the high school, Okay, But isn't it on you?.

My eyes are like a bluish green. So here's a little tip guys, depending upon what your eye color is. I like to wear blue. It makes the eyes pop, especially if you're on camera. That's a little tip. So I like wearing blue. I really like wearing pinks. Believe it or not. When it's summertime, it adds something white pants. I think your suit's a perfect But your casual not so there's so many misses you try and be very shop. Yes, simply choices. You could look better consistently, although I will agree that your golf is strong, but Color suits you as well as classic I don't know. Yes, my opinion. I'm simple. I've taken simple to an art form. I wouldn't use the word simple with you. I'd say you're predictable. And you're boring because pretty much everything that you have is the same thing over and over and over again. Your suit, sir. Navy, your suits or gray, casual black golf, white pants black. I mean, you're just You're a cartoon character. I've said it before. You're boring. Your will is well, though, that's what you are. Let me ask you Do I look good? Yes, you do. Look good. Don't I look consistently good. Ah, other than your pants being so baggy, you could fit like a village in there. I would say you're consistently good. Um, Mr Ballerina Pants to ever embarrass you. You embarrass me? No, no. So what's wrong with consistently good. You're boring to you on one of my here to impress you with my wardrobe selections. I'm here to look my best. Don't you think you should have some fun and experiment once in a while? I remember back in the day You had purple sweaters. You had a yellow sweater. All right, All right. All right. You know you bring up a point, okay? I've never given much thought to fashion except once in a while Something breaks through to May. I'll never forget I was in London are sitting at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. That's why I told tell of choice in Knightsbridge. Sitting there with my boss. We're having breakfast and this toll thin, great looking Asian guy came in, and he was wearing gray slacks, Black shoes, a white shirt with a pink sweater. I'll never forget how amazing that looked up because he was so thin he tucked in his sweater, and I thought it look fantastic. And it really got me going. Coming going. I really started changing my wardrobe. I got into Chino tan pants. I loved tan pants because of this guy worked with white T shirts or a pink sweater. I tried to light blue sweater. Black was always my basic. I went to I worked with blacks suede shoes on a black suede belt. Stainless steel blackface watch once in a while because I was wearing the lighter colors like Pinker Tan. I wore brown suede shoes with a brown suede belt. It was perfection. Perfection, Salmon, Las Vegas and I'm feeling good and I'm starting to play with color and I figure you know, I like this part of my world. And do you remember purple? Jesse? Um, my gosh. That was amazing. So I'll tell the audience. What happened. We're on the elevator. I'm feeling good aware, my light purple sweater figure and I'm cool. I'm into color. So what happens is we go down. We're in the elevator. A few people in the elevator. We stopped at a floor and the elevators too crowded for the person. To come in. And right as the doors are about to close, all you hear from the person who was waiting to go on the elevator. All you hear is purple and the doors closed. Jared and I are hysterically laughing. People in the elevator were giggling. I was like one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life Purple. Well, there's a great example about trying too hard with color, so I went down to the main floor. All the boys will be right back. Went up to my room. Put on my black sweater came back down. Change my shoes. The black suede on I never wore purple again. You're ridiculous. As historical as that is, it's one time and you give up Well wasn't one time. You know, I've told this story before. I remember going to a very important dinner. I was representing my company. We were meeting with the then governor of New York Big dinner, a lot of people being honored and just so happened because of our connection. We were gonna go shake the gold in his hand and center, etcetera, etcetera. At the time we had a great shirt in a company called Chiana. It was a nylon knitted dress shirt is beautiful, silky looking. Had no business being that there's only one kind of dress shirts called white. That's called cotton. But leave it to me. I wore a light are in shirt with an orange and navy tie, and I went and I met the governor. Remember when he looked at me? Holy look to me. It just wasn't right. That night. I got home and we all had pictures. I had my picture with me and my wife and the governor. I looked at myself. Navy suit are in shirt navy in orange time. It said Since he had you let me leave the house like this. I look ridiculous. I can't believe I did this to myself. And I give you my word of honor That next day, I stood in front of the mirror throughout every single short ahead. That wasn't white. I put on my white dress shirt with the Navy suit, Navy tie looked in the mirror and I realized I can't look any better than this. And right then and there. I made a decision to wear a white shirt every day to work. And for the next 15 years I wore that white shirt with the Navy or gray suit. And that was it. All right. You made some mistakes. So what's your answer that you just You just give up. You look great Before now, you're just saying all right? My answers to be boring color is money. Kohler is money. I never forget. When I was in the gulf business. We're talking about colors and one of the guys A salesman is very classy guy. Said. There are only two kinds of ways. Guys get dressed in golf. Said. First long as we could remember, we humans have had to pay for shelter a place to live. Air. At least that's for free. Hmm. Not so fast. We don't breathe for free. It's called taxes. The right to breathe is paid for by the government. Taxing you. You want to be in this country, Breathe our air. It's gonna cost you Elif. Forget as an aside when I was a teenager. It only stands to reason. If you need close to where you're going to pay for them. Once again my original statement of premise there's only one reason is a fashion business, whole luxury business on the retail business to make money. I'll never forget. I was a young man. I was working for Phillips venues and I was in the hole with at that time, my boss and the pick Triarc of the company, Seymour Phillips of films venues and came over to us and said, Hey, guys, I have a question for you. Why we working? Remember, my boss was very smart and the best voice you can come up with, he said. Well, sir, we're here to create the best brand in America and have the largest shirt business in the world. What about you? So we're working on having the best product and making sure that we differentiate ourselves from the competition. Seymour Phillips said. Listen, guys appreciate it. You're on the right track. But there's only one reason we're here in this company to make money and don't ever forget it, and I never did. When I think about it, What is the most important factor in the price of clothing brand? You might say. Designer know how about style, Maybe the fabric I know country of origin where it's made. And the answer is no, No, no, no, no. The single most important component that generates value in luxury apparel is Holer. The wrong color, and an item is useless. The right colors. Priceless. I don't care how great to designer how great the brand the style the fit the fabric were made in Italy or France. The wrong color. Nobody wants it. And there's no value that is the price of color and nothing in fashion drives sales or creates profit or frankly deters from profit. This color this industry our lives. We are driven by color. Often the right color spells success. Conversely, the wrong color is a disaster. The choice of color is the color of money. Even if you think about ornament, whereas I looked it up. "Year, the only thing wrong with that statement. It's not a happy new year. Life is still a mess. I want to talk about what is the future? What's the next normal? It's what's right now is not normal. We want to talk about a concept of this show. First and foremost, Let's just talk about your career. You are responsible for your own career. No one else. But generally speaking of many things to talk about on this subject, But in the next normal if I have the had one word to give you To be successful. One word. New Year. New ideas. One word, few curiosity. Curiosity is the most important component for success. That makes you think. It makes you wonder. It opens you up for learning. Curiosity is a trait that will never let you down because you're always trying to improve everything you do. If you're working in a restaurant I think of it this way. I'm a creature of habit. When I like a restaurant. I don't like it. I love it. You're a maitre d Is it important to recognize and no us? Shouldn't they be curious about who we are and what we want? I would say absolutely. I know it's all fake. I know they don't really care about us. I know they're just doing it, but I like it. I like that fake niceness. It makes me feel happy. The point is these guys to be successful have to be curious about who is Mark Webber, who is Jesse Weber. They come here all the time. We should make sure we understand what it is. That makes them happy The tables they like they have a particular kind of food. What kind of bread that they want? What do they drink? That curiosity will make that maitre d Successful if he does it for Jesse and I, and he doesn't further customers. And I'm thinking about The next normal. This is a new year. You get a chance every day to reinvent yourself. There's no better person to decide who you are, who you can be. And you you wanna be Who you are then. And what do you want to be now? The next normal It's interesting when you think about over the course of the year if you work for someone They've given you critique. Hey, you really, really good at the operating side of the business, But you need help financially. You ought to think about that. You're a great product developer. But you're not very good at sales, so right away. You have a tip of way You want to improve. When you're beginning a new year. This is the time that you could really improve on what you doing. I have a simple story in this one. My favorites to prove a point. My style is always very conservative, Elegant but conservative. I determine a long time ago that wearing a white shirt You look great. The brightness of the white reflecting against my skin tone. Looking against my face is the perfect setting the perfect frame for the way I look. I learned by trying so many every different things, but I learned it and I loved it. And for 15 years every single day I wore a white shirt. I'll never forget. Beginning a new year. Don't know what possessed me. But I were a French blue dress shirt. French blue is not dark. It's not light. It's like a medium color. And for whatever reason again, it looked very, very rich. Against my Navy suit against my face, and it looked incredible. Don't never forget going into the office that day. And not one, but every single person in that company I came in contact with commented on the blue shirt. Hey, Mark. You look so different. What is it? I can't believe Mark. You're wearing a blue shirt walk. That's a great looking shirt. I took that because I'm making the shirt look good, but that's a whole other story. The fact that they all sort Was indicative of here I am coming into new Year I wore a different color shirt and look at the impression it made. No matter who I was in the 15 years before I am looking like a new person in this new year. And I'm convinced as I always have been. But you could reinvent yourself in a new year. To the management take you seriously. That's a question for all of you to think of When you competed in your company against the other people around you. Do they look at you differently from anyone else? How about the way you dress? Said it a moment ago. I believe in dressing for work. Now, if you're in silicone valley or you're somewhere else, or you're working in a Garage. I get it. Okay. But even so, if you're at the front desk in that garage shirt, entire sport coat in the shirt will stand your port don't know right away who you are, and that you're serious And you mean something? It shouldn't matter, but it does. The way you speak is often more important than what you say. Don't shoot off your mouth. Don't run at the mouth. There's a great expression. I love Wiseman speak because they have something to say fools because they have to say something. When you talk You position yourself. Ladies and gentlemen, Thank you for asking me my opinion. I've given a great deal of thought to the question that you pose. And after thinking about it and testing it in my mind a number of times. This is what I think we should do. It's a whole lot different than saying this is what we should do. We all have arguments. You pick your fights carefully. See nobody ever wins a fight. What happens in a fight? You might prove your point that you were right. Whoever you had that fight with will never forget. "The only thing wrong with that statement. It's not a happy new year. Life is still a mess. I want to talk about what is the future What's the next normal Because what's right now is not normal. I want to talk about a concept of the show. It makes you think. It makes you wonder. It opens you up for learning. Curiosity is a trait that I'll never let you down because you're always trying to improve everything you do. If you're working in a restaurant I think of it this way. I'm a creature of habit. When I like a restaurant. I don't like it. I love it. If you're a maitre d Is it important to recognize and no us? This is the time that you could really improve on what you've doing. I have a simple story in this one. My favorites to prove a point. My style is always very conservative, Elegant but conservative. I determine a long time ago that wearing a white shirt Have a great The brightness of the white reflecting against my skin tone. Looking against my face is the perfect setting the perfect frame for the way I look. I learned by trying so many every different things, but I learned it, and I loved it and for 15 years Every single day. I wore a white shirt. I'll never forget. Getting a new year. You're wearing a blue shirt Mark. But you could reinvent yourself in any year. To the management take you seriously. That's a question for all of you to think. When you competed in your company against the other people around you. Did they look at you differently from anyone else? How about the way you dress? Said it a moment ago. I believe in dressing for work. If you're in silicone valley or you're somewhere else, or you're working in a Garage. I get it. Okay. But even so, if you're at the front desk in that garage shirt, entire sport coat in the shirt will stand. Your part will know right away who you are, and that you're serious, And you mean something? It shouldn't matter, but it does. The way you speak is often more important than what you say. Don't shoot off your mouth. Don't run at the mouth. There's a great expression. I love Wiseman speak because they have something to say fools because they have to say something. When you talk You position yourself. Ladies and gentlemen, Thank you for asking me my opinion. I've given a great deal of thought to the question that you pose. After thinking about it and testing it in my mind a number of times. This is what I think we should do. That's a whole lot different than saying, Yeah, that's what we should do. We all have arguments. You pick your fights carefully. See nobody ever wins a fight. What happens in a fight? You might prove your point that you were right. Whoever you had that fight with will never forget. It could be a week later a month you later a year later than never gonna forget that you either embarrassed them. You won the argument. They felt you were disrespectful. Fight. Even if you're right, you can't win him. Then there's the question of people if we're talking about reinventing yourself. I often subscribed. The idea that I want to work with people that make me struggle to be value added I've never been afraid of where the next idea comes from. I surround myself with people. Hopefully this smarter than me. If they're not smarter than me than they have information or an expertise that I don't have. I don't care what the next idea comes from. I want to work with people who know what to get done. I wanted people that are confident what they do that are experts at what they do. I'm not looking for all the credit. Your manager out there. You have smart people making you look good. That's exactly what's happening to making you look good. Not only that. You're judged by the company you keep if you've hired the right kinds of people that add to the conversations. Amazing point of view. And one thing that always seems to be for gotten along the way. His attitude. Setting up for a new year. You have a chance to reinvent yourself. You have a good positive attitude. You always take the company's side..
