So earlier today we talked about there was a uh some information coming out that there's some front runners too. The ownership of the Denver Broncos. If, in fact the Broncos hit the market in 2022. After what the team says will be quote an orderly determination of ownership. It could set the stage for possibly the biggest franchise sale. In US sports history. Now back in 1984 Pet bowl and paid an ungodly amount for the Denver Broncos. He paid $78 million And when he passed away in June of 2019, there were Uh, there were some Oh, disagreements amongst the family. And there was even a lawsuit that was supposed to start in July, but I think they Wanted to respect Um Pats legacy and they decided not to move forward. And that's all speculation. However, the $78 million investment that Pope Apple and made in 1984 Pat Bowlen and his brother and other Investors that Investment is now expected to be worth around $4 billion. Now the NFL states that if you're going to Own a team. You have to have 30% ownership of that team. And that is 30% of $4 billion, which would be $1.2 billion of my math is right. Not a lot of people, maybe grant Have 1.2 billion John Elway doesn't have 1.2 billion. Peyton Manning doesn't have 1.2 billion Jeff Bezos has 1.2 building billion and he's one of the front runners. He's the richest man in the world. Any remains interested in an NFL ownership. The other person that has come to the forefront. Is Jay Z. He's the hip hop's first billionaire, but he would need partners to purchase the Broncos because he's only worth about $1.4 billion. So you need to have 1.4 or 1.2 to participate in this Itself. It should be interesting to see what happens with Jeff Bezos, who I think from day one is the odds on favorite if if the Broncos cell He's the one I think will own the Denver Broncos. Jeff Bezos. Yeah my father's side i am. It's kind of All the american colonists it is you know we have nellie washington's hand town nellie was washington's niece we have her hand talent they actually signed it back then because these were fine. Nice hand house that were expensive for the time. So it's got her signature on it and it's framed in our house and Yeah descended from john. Marshall supreme court justice robert e lee and then also probably the most important one is descended directly from walter camp who basically. He's called the godfather of american football. He invented american football. So that's the really important one the others you not forget them but so yeah it. It is kind of crazy and In in some regards. I i grew up in combination washington. Dc and then. We moved to richmond. Virginia the capital of the confederacy. And i was like twelve years old before. I fat before anyone bother to tell me that the south of lost the war. I knew about the civil war. I knew i was named after robert e labor and i thought well named after a loser so we must have one but yeah it's you know it's kinda crazy in that regard but i'd like to think not maybe not with robert lee you know but fighting for owning slaves but With the others. I'd like to think that the navy there was some voice in their head. That knows that the most patriotic thing you can do is speak out for the truth. Is paul. There were okay. They need to come to grips with with what happened. Was recent republican president. Trump wasn't just like another random set largely jalen greens senator Member of congress or random governor somewhere. There's a little embarrassing. He was the republican president united states supported by the republican party at the national level in a very strong and almost uniform way. Well he didn't start that way back in two thousand fifteen. He was the laughing stock of the republican party. One can write a scenario trump. Lindsay wins denomination. Sort of fluky twenty. Sixteen you know love divided field the a couple of issues a beats hillary clinton the general election. Because she's not such a strong candidate want change and so forth against lucky intellectual college. The russians helping you can write a scenario where the republicans who control both senate and house standing up to trump. They refused to go along with certain things he wants to do. They make clear that he's president. Obviously they respect that but they are gonna make up their own minds about issues and you can write a scenario where members of his cabinet really stand up to him and not just a few of them in those few. Don't just pushed aside. And where the republican electron course doesn't seem to have an insatiable appetite for trump's demagoguery. But that's not the scenario that happened in history for me. Enabling of trump by the republican party is almost as important destruct themselves you could have had trump was kind of a one term sort of presidents sort of a fluke sort of embarrassing frankly to damage. But i get the feeling that disney doesn't pick these fights unless they know they're gonna win know way to say they haven't lost a lot of these fights mean the best won't they have the best legal The best lawyers m for what.
