I think Jesse marsh reports by not taking the Southampton job is making it very clear what he does want. And that's the U.S. job. He is waiting, as you say, for sporting director. And unfortunately for Jesse marsh, he's waiting in a very specific way. The sporting director that lands has to like the style that Jesse marsh plays. Because Jesse marsh is an idealist. He's not a guy who's going to fit everybody's system. So his candidacy more than I think almost anybody else depends on the sporting director. It's your finger down first. Put your finger down, right? Don't start pointing at me. If Jesse marsh as you claim is holding out for the U.S. men's national team, why is the reason per the reports that he didn't take the Southampton job, the length of the contract? Why didn't you just say no? I'm holding out for the U.S. men's national team job. Like if it's so attractive, the golden generation on home soil, why is the reason he's not with Southampton? The U.S. men's national team and why are we hearing that it's the length of the contract? I think it could be both. I don't think it has to be black or white. It has to be one or the other. I think you're not looking at the Southampton job in a vacuum. You're looking at the Southampton job and saying, if I take this, what is it going to cost me? And I think Jesse marsh realizes that whether he had had success, or been a failure at Southampton, it would have cost him a shot, just a shot at the U.S. job for 20 years. But you're saying it's not in a vacuum 7, I'll turn it around. You said right here, why don't you take your managerial destiny into your own hands? If he's that interested in it, why are you having talks with Southampton? Because he's a manager, it's a Premier League team with an opening that says they want you. "That lack of continuity, the potential for what in my mind would be a senseless tear down one more likely to set the national team program back than drive it forward. To me, that feels more likely than ever after today's news. So yeah, I'm wildly disappointed by it. It doesn't mean that it's going to well, let me it doesn't mean that it's going to play out to the negative, right? Like whoever comes in is the new sporting director could end up looking at everything that the U.S. did and saying like, yeah, this is what we want to keep. We're going to hire coach and keep the blueprint and keep the game model and try to build upon that and do everything I just said. Like personnel can be policy in this respect and maybe they'll get the right personnel at every stop. And that's what I'll do. And number two is I don't think bielsa or be able to style coach. Or even Jesse marsh, who I love. But very different game model. I don't think that that is the best way to drive the U.S. forward to continue the momentum that I think this team built in the 2022 cycle. But it might work anyway, right? It might end up being that like, okay, four four two narrow pressing, no switches, you know, that is actually the way to get the most out of this group. So everything still at play, but just from my perspective, I'm a big believer in continuity in this game. I believe that consistency of vision makes it easier for players to consistently execute and I am very disappointed and worried now that the national team program, which, in my mind, made real stride, like real, visible strides in how they played, I'm worried that now we're going to lose that as we spin forward into this 2026 cycle.

There is no more question to your point about him playing center back at Leipzig about his position under Jesse marsh. He's going to play his role. So if anywhere, it's got to be here, right? Well, they have to win every game, but when I say perfect, they can get away with it with some of the teams that they're going to be playing between now and Manchester City. If they make the mistakes that they did particularly in this game against Manchester City, then they'll get punished. And that's the difference between that game and a lot of the other stage in the Premier League. Sometimes you don't get punished, where something pony, but as I said, they've got some games to sort that out before they face Manchester City. And what probably will be the desire for me. "Clubs. Let's hear what he had to say. Yeah, I think there's probably a stigma. I'm not sure Ted Lasso helped. I haven't watched the show, but I get it. I get it. Like, people hate hearing the word soccer. They hate hearing, you know. I mean, I've used the word football since I was a football professional football player. I think more and more in the states were adapting to what the game here is in England and our connection with what this league is and what the culture of the sport is in this country. And all I can say is the only way I know how to do things is to go all in to give everything I have to believe in who I am to believe in the people that I work with and to try to maximize what we are every day. And I find if you can do that effectively that you can be incredibly surprised with the human spirit and what you can achieve. So that sounds like Ted Lasso, I think, from what I've heard. Yeah, just believe. Don, you're impressed with what you heard from Jesse marsh. I was very much sorry he wasn't on the defensive he was quite humorous, he was quite funny. I think you can see that is genuine as well. He's obviously an intelligent manager. And everything he would be saying is right, you know? He speaks 5 different languages. He's worked incredibly hard to get this big job at Leeds. He could have come across. I think that I think the question that was a little bit loaded and that we're trying to be a bit smarmy towards him, but I thought he batted it off really well. He could have went on the defenses. He could have looked a little bit awkward, the interview could have been awkward, but I think in the end, I think he had everyone laughing. I think he's very, very smart guy. And I think if you're a leads fan tuning in, you're getting your first impressions of your new manager. I think that would be quite happy. Yeah, so there we go. "The only difference maybe is the defensive cues. Not man Markey and more zoning more often plays more off cues off a sequences, that'll change, but this is an ideal situation for Jesse marsh. Listen, not too many people get a chance to be a part of a Premier League setup. If you have that type of opportunity, especially for a guy like Jesse Marshall, you take it. You heard that last little cue right there. We mentioned his accent. And I've always said and you know this. I'm a big proponent that the American passport plays against the players, the managers when it comes to Europe. No more than in the Premier League. Look, it's not ideal. It is a good landing spot. I don't think going into a relegation fight is ideal for a manager, right? They're 16th right now. They're two points from the drop zone. And the two teams that are directly behind them have two games in hand. So there's a lot of work to do for Jesse marsh. It's a very pressure situation, not that RB Leipzig wasn't, but I think so even more here, right? You're talking about surviving in the Premier League. Okay. A couple other reasons. He's following as he mentioned in that interview, an absolute club legend. They love him there. He's the guy that after 16 years away from the Premier League, got them there. So I think to me, you don't ever want to be the guy that follows the guy following bielsa is not going to be easier. The one thing I'll say is this too. It's not just that he's American herc. It's that the ownership is American. Let's not forget about how this team is owned by the San Francisco forty-niners. If you go back to bob Bradley's time at Swansea, yes, they picked on bob Bradley because he was an American. I think it hurt him double because the ownership at Swansea, much like the ownership here. It leads united, was also American. So it's not just an American coach. It's an American coach brought in by American owners.
