Senseless Crime in NYC Needs to be Addressed After Times Square Shove

"When I listen to doctor gorka, he says a lot of the things that I feel, you know, and he says with such strength and conviction, you know, Jersey Joe. Jersey Joe. He calls me, you know? But I love that. But I'm kind of like under the radar and kind of quiet, but man, I tell you what I've been taking the gloves off recently because of what's happening in crime. We just had and forgive me and I look at Martin Luther King day. I want to have some fun. We have some great guests, but I hesitate to do this every morning, but there is news that is unfolding, and to understand it as a look at the news before me. There was a gal that was like pushed to her death in a subway station in New York, and then Eric Adams, who we wish all the best for, by the way, the new mayor. You know, he's going like, he's going like, oh, well, you know what, it's maybe it's not as dangerous as it seems. It's just a misnomer that the subways that danger just kind of got pushed to her death. You know, how about in Los Angeles? You see this? And as you listen in LA, you know? In the town in the state where Larry elder will one day be governor. Hello. Oh yeah, you check it out. But there was a girl that girl in the furniture store to stamp. What's going on with the crime? The crime rate. And there's nobody in charge. No one in Washington. Nobody watching it. And at the time, my political beliefs, they say your conservative, I'm not more of an independent than anything else. I've had it with both party. I don't trust the Republicans. I don't think the Republicans are being strong enough, you know? My hopes are high for this year. Hopefully in November, we'll see a change in the House of Representatives, but my hopes aren't I, because once the Republicans get in, they just really don't do much. So I'm hoping that will

"So we have an economic problem with baby boomers sincere the point is we're talking hotels it's going to be less occupancy less air travel less rental cars hello fresh here's a question when people wearing masks you can see their faces the closest important if people are fearful shopping was falling is going to take place I read last week the gap lost nine hundred and seventy nine million dollars so far due to the cove in nineteen virus the only stating that it's just going to be less out there and less translates less chops I've been talking to a lot of the executives and unlike seculars of large companies are making do with fewer people they're working from home and they're seeing with all the frills overlay of full fires that they're doing their jobs and getting it done and I just believe they the industry is not going to go back in Hyrule those people there because they don't need it and they've seen someone on my side this commentary what prediction as a public service announcement perhaps it's a wake up call I have she thought it through let me help you here you've been temporarily furloughed I don't like that word Austin is a temporary you can be sure you're going back and sitting around waiting is a formula for disaster no one's going to be hiring at the level J. been hiring it's not an excuse for you to relax you have to stop thinking you have to start planning close to what the law has to say about this Hey Jesse Jesse whatever sun co hosts attorney what's going on what do you think about the work furlough you actually had it really on the head about what it means but there's some interesting legal points to it as you said it's a temporary leave of absence but there's really no precise legal definition as to what a furlough is so let me first say it's very important that companies are clear with their employees what they mean by our furlough and it's interesting because some will say all we hope to hire you back if this happens or we hope to hire you back at this time but as you said there's absolutely no guarantee that these employees will be hired back and that's why it's very important for employees to keep their options open and look for work having said that they these employees are still technically legally employees of the company so they're actually protected and what do I mean by that even though they're not getting paid even though they're not getting paid and I will get to that in the second even though they're not getting paid they still have some protection so for example if the company starts bringing back the workers they can't bring back workers in a discriminatory way you know that employees are protected by anti discrimination laws so these employees are protected in that sense now you talk about the payment yes there on played however and this is so important if during a furlough an employee does any kind of work even the most middle school work for the company they have to get paid that is the absolute rule is there a timetable here where they have to let them play you know where they stand you know usually that comes into play it before our furlough sometimes their requirements where employers have to provide advance notice if they think that this furlough is gonna be going over you know something like six months in terms of telling furloughed employees what the current status is I haven't seen any requirement per se but employers should provide reasonable notice if the situation changes usually in writing and if you're going to fire employees yes there are of course some legal requirements there on how to do that but it's also good to give employees some advance notice if the furlough is ending so that the employees can let the employer know what they want to do okay well I wanted to talk to you folks out there because a component of the show his career counseling if it's solely your not getting anywhere and you're just sitting there waiting for that phone call Hey your job is back I'm telling you you're making a mistake you need to think about it wouldn't be smart wouldn't make sense for the rest of you you know you're going to need to be thinking about your options maybe there's another company maybe another interest rate at least maybe simply asking your boss for their personal opinion as to your chances of being re hired.

"To the Jersey Joe show for the first time how are you mark very well Joe how are you I'm fantastic thank you so much for joining me I really wanted I'm glad you could come because I wanted to really have this be however in this game from all the the the madness in the news and being and entertainment fan and the loving film loving T. V. what you're doing with these classic films is really absolutely unique so tell us a little bit about the business real classic D. V. D. I. so that people understand exactly what you're doing well real classic DVD started through my love of classic films I've been at some collector pretty much all my life and when I see some collector I'm going back away where if you want to see a movie more than once and not wait for to come on TV you actually had to bite on cell film distribution companies out there that would that would do that blackrock films of the big one out in Davenport Iowa council films released will digest versions center and there is even one right here in New Jersey Essex films that ran for a long time and that you know I just wanted to to come up with a way of presenting you know these movies and unaffected by the way we from collectors used to see them back today so of course in New Jersey has a lot of history indeed people really don't know this or I guess that most people don't know about the great history of filmmaking in New Jersey did you grow up in and around any of that that kind of inspired you in some way or was this basically just as a viewer you would just enamored of these certain types of of film was a combination Joe really I always loved you know in the old films on TV it's after I never could watch them and of course started collecting them later but being a resident of is he was just you know kind of cool to me that so much of it happened here you know one four leaf from Thomas Edison you know pretty much inventing you know the motion picture up until four leave being the first film capital of the world for Hollywood zero one of the things that he I started really I guess before obviously news and politics dominated much of my professional life I really was a fan of comic books baseball cards and black and white hard movies so you see Bela Lugosi and and get a line Cheney and all of those universal film stars too you know the way that the wolf man and of course Dracula and Frankenstein bars Carlos all of these I grew up basically staying at home coming home from church on Sunday afternoons in really turning on Abbott and Costello which were on for two hours I believe from eleven to one and they had this because universal also on that library they had a they would have Abbott and Costello kind of meet the wolf man and having to still meet the mummy and Abbott and Costello you know me Dracula do you remember those there is so much fun yeah and just coming off the Halloween season you know an hour of course we're approaching thanksgiving but you know if you were to come to my house you would have seen Dracula knew this Frankenstein be shown here the old universals there is also creature features on Sunday night and I remember you know the special on showing the films from the universal packages absolutely they're fantastic and of course the man who got the wheels rolling was born Cheney senior you know who started off at universal doing the hunchback of Notre Dame and later the same number you think that V. there will be a kind of a there's obviously a respect for this genre but do you think there will ever come a time where we re visit perhaps to you know it has a resurgence or is it basically the preservation of the these films that really is the future of the business or do you think it might you know might revert just as a as a you know obviously people are very into CG I these days but you know there's got to be the you you when I see the child actors in these black and white films of course the little rascals all of them quite town did and the way people can express ended no emotion with just eye movement of in some of these black and white films without sound is amazing to me that you can actually off it's as if they were speaking and you know that that is great talent especially when it's connoted over a black and white don't you agree yeah it's an art form all to itself I think you have to use more of your imagination I can kind of equate it to how fascinated people were when they listen to old time radio no the shadow it cetera the war of the worlds which of course is very famous when it came on the radio captivated people because I think because of a little part of it was missing because you couldn't see the action is going on you have to use your imagination more and I think silent movies in the same way since you don't have the sound you're using the sound you're you're getting deeper into your paying closer attention to watch the I am the lord says you say and the and the acting and and moaning in many ways is a deeper experience that's absolutely true because you basically fill in those gaps right with your own imagination and you know sometimes the the subtlety of it allows your mind to kind of you know your imagination actually to work and to kind of yeah be creative so I think the I think you're absolutely right with regard to that what's the best seller in your library I would have to say strangely enough that it's Felix the cat Felix of course yeah that goes back to the silent days pretty early on and I have a collection there which I'd I guess he just that popular you certainly with the popular in the day I mean Charles Lindbergh flew the Atlantic with little Felix with him for some months my best seller I would say that a close second is the phantom of the opera than the our gang films which you met and you know the so they were they've been around since the silent days I have been going back to nineteen twenty two the year they first started at send me a copy of the phantom of the opera the Supreme collector's edition which I watched and it was fantastic because it not only co you know certainly has the would you say it was remastered re digitize what would be the correct terminology well the way the DVDs are medically story I do that they come directly from the films so they're digitized and captured pretty much the way they are a little bit of clean up and it's a trick done but you know I'm not you know not going to scrub Asilomar or invest in that that that sort of operation thank you like you said that's for the CD I. guys I was amazed at the quality of its a nineteen thirties film so what is the you know certainly there is there's a lot and I don't want to get into the weeds on the technicality of it all but it's very difficult to preserve these reels right in these and the cold storage I guess it would have to be maintained in cold storage and then transferred to digital as do you do that all on your premises I do that on my promises I use sixteen millimeter masters but I think what you're thinking of is the theatrical films were printed on the substance called nitrate which would appear in fact it would often explode movie theaters there are fires at central is very flexible very unstable so there is something of a race going on among film preservation no god bless America a lot of folks out there doing this kind of work to take you so before they disappear altogether and preserve them so that we can still watch them I don't remember exactly what the percentages but I think out of all the silent movies that are made up into pure nineteen thirty I think we only have you know less than ten percent last it's amazing is A. M. A. it really gets you to think that if it weren't for people like you and museums a lot of this would be lost to to the general population without an appreciation to to the is the great to the great actors of that day what time off you know a couple a you know would give me a list of five grades from the black away here because you know I I'm not familiar with that in any of them beyond the the not the the monster arcade well certainly Charlie Chaplin everybody you know story members Mister Kaplan Buster Keaton was huge comedian is thank you the he is not of course is well known as Charlie Chaplin Harry Langdon was a great comedian who is almost totally forgotten Harold Lloyd was the biggest of them all in his time certainly the richest of the the movie stars of his era I think most people remember him as the guy wearing the glasses hanging from a clock with the city and that's about more than keeping really remembers the lame and the about four days and who is the the who represented the females in the silent film genre well there's so many you know the the center of the opera course merry Stillman was leading lady Greta Garbo got her start to start in the silence Marlena Dietrich any just almost any actress the you can think of from the early thirties would have started during the silent era at least got to start their Carole Lombard will promote and it for many when it for many years for several years before she was discovered so the the our gang K. kids that collection of of youngsters who went on obviously beyond the little rascals they did stuff like the the the big town end what came first actually the the rascals are are some of these films well the rascals go back to nineteen twenty two you know there of course earlier films in that Charlie Chaplin started for example in nineteen fourteen how Roach was a big comedy producer who later went on to create a to bring us laurel and hardy our gang it Sentra quite a few comedians but there again kid started in nineteen twenty two and went all the way up until World War two when they were purchased by MGM who did you use them towards the end pretty much you know little moral stories and you know with a promoting war effort etcetera they had a very very long run it and how many in in in your libraries at all represented online please you know give that information out because I I think that as we come into the holidays I think people might want to kind of visit the website and and explore a little bit yeah of course I can't claim to have all the our gang films I think so quite a few of those are still lost but I have a a good representative selection from the silent days and my website is where you'll find them at real classic D. V. D..

"The way we're gonna tell me if you need our flag our culture entering in around the world so he goes down as a racist country so you can have more customers in China Nike has done it NBA now see with their guys all but it's all about the dollars so I think we should find a way the Americans to leave this country I know and we'll cancel this make it tougher for them to make a profit here are some some kind of way we need to particularly go in a in lead was the that that that they truly are against our American way some kind of way we need to stand with the people other than the fact we can stop looking the show that's one way but when you go to the Chinese herbal tea and customers as opposed to a million here and I'll country you see where they're at with the loyalty of and what they will do anything to try to get some country town center twenty each other turned herself against each other so they can make their profits in another country so we need to know as to who that but not for us to this point and I look at them they're simply guys as traders I think the commission of NFL the trader Nike border commission are well they do love doesn't go there the deal is traders against American way is a is a big problem and and entire ties these other losses in Tom's country against us are you concerned as I am of the the influence and the power that companies data companies that control search engines and the transference of information whether it be a social media sites like Facebook or Twitter or just a unit data sites where you go to for information they are able to direct millions and millions to particular sites and two particular opinions with you know with these algorithm algorithms now they say that they are generated of course by computers but someone has to program the computer so it's very important to recognize the ideology of those at the helm of some of our biggest companies and I like you am very offended by companies that don't place their respect for their country their home country at more preeminently I don't believe you have to have the opinions and vocalize them obviously at the product level but certainly I do think that the country in which you made your wealth should have some kind of influence on how you see the world and the tell me if we can't trust the American in the United States of America then we can't trust anybody on the planet as far as I'm concerned find a more trustworthy nation if you're going to listen to okay the headlines in New York every day highlighting hate crimes of young black teenagers and it's with girls also attacking religious Jews it's happening in Brooklyn in in the religious communities in queens in broad daylight it's on video so people see it it's been in all the major media and it seems to be again is black Jewish hate going on which is something you and I have discussed and to our audience I want them to know that there are people who really want to work with them the of course the liberal progressive Democrats who won New York I've been doing anything to them to try to fix it they're not calling out they're not punishing appropriately these people setting examples having the teenagers so that they do not stop that what can we do as a community to stop this because it's only going to bring about more problems absolutely and I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna answer that okay good and then also your address with jewels in earlier your radio man build computers man bill Pavelic and they build their algorithms based on on the in the law that they have with the ticket propensity to want to have a hand in any of the results so we'll have to do a couple couple things I'm really little disappointed that conservatives have not been competitive marketplace will allow the liberals to take over our communication and and they they have no say there's no moral boundaries you guys they they have the end justifies the means will do anything they have to and feel very pleased with the score live move all the live and be happy so we first saw the competitive testing our weight that we can compete against the leftist machine communication and I'm looking for somebody spank you play now will go all in to make sure they're not support them to that same point is because they control the media communication is why we have the heat there was that we have a job and then just right now thank god what has happened to the left as if you're twenty mile race a black community they should know everything about the downside of hatred and racism they're turning us into races the now that now have new people believe that because of skin color if they are already victims that the white man doesn't like them that everything have them as long because somebody else somebody else did it or because they're great great great grandfather who have no idea who was with the slate maybe they now it also that is all the narrative of Marxism is the desert we are here we are with play for the G. dear Chris invaluable country to bring us together as harmony that allow the seeds of miss out on the outside in it was leading his evil of Marxism associate them which is just the opposite the devices she gave me the bass rich and poor old and young call has short black and white you name it that's what they do so we have to do to football own up to the communication I love you until you said something earlier I love the fact that president trump owns Twitter he he he has a way to get around those guys is driving them nuts because in the past always driven the conversation of always all our current owner conversation we need to find other ways to communicate with each other and we need to make sure the next school year doctor the trunk presidency a we're really represent the house and Senate to study more about people excited hopeful educated and an understanding that the worst thing that could happen to us if the monsters and socially Evan driving the Democratic Party put decades now you get on college campuses a lot Burgess right because that's I think where we start it was what was probably happens in even deeper than that because because we in hearing me forty minutes is not going to do it we have an understanding these guys are like termites the ideology termites even doing this year they go to assault the lady going to education in the politics of the cake is far bigger once in awhile it can be patient with a very low people like like the like indicated fired but the worst thing to have these guys attack you know kids the new way back when they give themselves to get Marcus within our schools with them from elementary to high school to college then we'd be training grow up Marxist like your account make for you upon James who cannot think outside the box a brown box they cannot communicate articulate instead because they have not been taught to think for themselves clearly T. what they've been told by the platinum in one day to go look around and realize that bills posted use I have used them another deal to describe them because of some point Americans will get fed up and people like that you may wanna tell school wait so will be our main goal weight over most of us that's very interesting that you said that I know that in my research on this subject to that at the turn of the century the Marxists socialists who came into the country in the early nineteen hundreds and participated in a lot of local government including that of president Wilson's made it up a distinct part of their strategy to take over the educational system and to lay the seeds that would foster this kind of mentality that you speak of the victimization mentality because divided to divides to conquer so I could I could I ask you if you have a few minutes to ask them to do is just say that the reporting yes I do would you say it is still one yet because the right of the twentieth century remember some of the the black the black community their name in eighteen eighty two blue one started started god want to ski you university but nineteen hundred is it is the more self made millionaire and Harvard Yale and Princeton combine all the stuff was going only guess what happened that you can a good start would put together called in double ACP national source into the bath the colored people problem is this it was not started a cold southern white schools with Marcus ages race control Democrats who can you trust the leader so then America first new president was posing for five years was closely finally the black guy to "The Chinese were paying the tab basically wanted him fired and the NBA obviously said no he was entitled to say it may be soon enough but he was certainly entitled to say you know what's going to happen is later on in you never quite know what the intentions are of these figures when when they actually speak there could be all kinds of backstories behind why they chose to say what they say etcetera etcetera and then of course later on when they put out their memoir or they write their story or they say their piece in which in the process ends up reading them good amount of money for a book deal they will try to rationalize what they said why they said it how they said it and it will become the thing of radio talk shows for at least another year and that person who spoke out wrongly and ended up causing some kind of a economic the bottle for business of sorts will lead end up leading their own little gain from the book they write as a result of the whole thing it won a lot of times I think people I know that's always thinking about the book right they're always linking well the book that's the way it works you know people are going to be reading this fellow story on kindle on the subway years from now I I know that that sounds a little bit of and some like a little bit of a wet blanket here but you know that that's what these things become I see things for what they're going to be down the road you know and it's it's great this is the age of telling one story you know what one day will be writing our stories I think I've already written mind you probably written yours but you know this is the age of people is a tell your story they should you should journal you should log your experiences your feelings and that sort of thing but this is what happens everyone has a story to write and a backstory to sell a lot of this has to do with I think the general society the public's need to always feel like they have the right and so they should act on the right and that's not necessarily the case we've been managing the lives when you know we will we have to talk about what your rights where people were managing their rights you know and using judgment and I don't think that they use like absolutely so when we come back we will continue on the Jersey Joe show and we'll talk about yes will mention the I word impeachment just a little bit on the other side of the break plus a couple other things that are related this is Jersey Joe on.

But hopefully, you'll ask me a question about them eight hundred three to one zero seven ten we're also going to talk about I don't might be the concept of the mommy makeover. That is so many plastic surgeons talk about that. But I'm gonna tell you why I don't think the mommy makeover is a good idea at least not a good idea to do in one procedure. And I stand maybe not quite alone. Certainly in a minority of plastic surgeons because so many plastic surgeons would love to do the, mommy makeover. Because it's a big day in the operating for everybody. But I believe in safety. I, and I don't think that a a long procedure that combines a tummy tack with a breast augmentation or breast lift is uniformly safe. You know, I think separately they're just fine. And we can we can do these in two different procedures. But that's what the mommy makeover is. And and people talk about that. But I'll tell you why later in the show why think it's not the best idea to have a mommy makeover at least in one day. All right.
