NBA trade deadline: Winners, losers and teams in between
"Flurry of trades in the NBA a blockbuster in baseball mortar common colds to memorialize Kobe Bryant and highly visible way joined by ESPN's Howard Bryant good morning hours good morning Scott how are you I'm fine thanks is awesome aggressive deals in the NBA trade at the trade deadline who do you rack up as the winners and losers well and I'm not sure about the winners and losers of the trade deadline but certainly the winners and losers right now of the first half of the season you've got a look at the Lakers in the west and and the Milwaukee Bucks I think they are head and shoulders above everybody else how could you hold on for a moment our you know head yes government for you almost got me for a second there's got yeah Milwaukee is terrific and and they're great they're holding on the crushed Philadelphia the other night I thought coming into the season it was gonna be Philadelphia Milwaukee Los Angeles and Los Angeles Lakers and the clippers but I'm not too sure about the other two yet but we've got a long way to go I think trade deadline wise I think Miami Heat got much much better they got on great good dollar they made a very good deal with Memphis I think that Philadelphia tried to shore up of making a deal with with the warriors and de Angelo Russell going to Minnesota who knows what that's gonna do maybe there's a late run there but the bottom line is coming forward right now I still think that you've got two teams in this league disappointed the Boston Celtics didn't do anything but I think it's the box and the Lakers right now an official memorial for Kobe Bryant's been set for February twenty fourth they've been calls to make his image a permanent part of the game you even rent a Poland that did I did I read a little Twitter poll this morning which was soundly rejected to replace Kobe Bryant is Jerry west to is the logo of the NBA with cut him a cell away from the silhouette of your request yes absolutely and it would have been fitting in some ways because Jerry west was the the man behind making sure Kobe Bryant ended up with the Lakers making that draft day trade with the Charlotte Hornets and I I understand add on one on one level the need or they want to want to memorialize Kobe I also understand that the NBA has been around since nineteen forty seven and maybe it's time to create a new logo Jerry west has been there fifty years since nineteen sixty nine however I do think that if you're going to think about and I'm a new logo or and a modern logo it's probably got to be Michael Jordan right or but I got an arm and a leg yeah but I also understand the desire right now for people to feel that something should be done for Kobe Bryant after after all that happened Boston Red Sox LA Dodgers Minnesota Twins switching sports agreed to a three team trade Tuesday that's been perhaps delay it has been delayed because of some medical records Mookie Betts has what they call a generational player MVP Golden Gloves traded to the Dodgers are the red Sox making the worst roster decision since they sold Babe Ruth's contract well if you red Sox fans are very happy about it especially because it's a generational player Mookie Betts is a beloved player two years ago he wins the M. B. P. and they won the World Series you're looking at a guy that fans just adore and it's a very cynical move in some ways but it also may very well be a huge business deal for them because number one we know that super star players now at this level after Manny Machado deal after the Bryce Harper deal your it in and now the the Gerrit Cole deal you're looking at three hundred and fifty four hundred million dollars to sign a player and if Mookie Betts didn't want to play with the red Sox will find out over the next several weeks and months if that was the case then of course they had to move them but on the other hand if that's not the case the red Sox are a super power they can sign whoever they want they've got money it's looking like a cynical deal we will see I'm good at and by the way I got as you know your cubs aren't far behind because you've got a guy like Chris Brian who's another cornerstone player and what does that mean for the cubs keep these players and the fans love him yeah thank you very much ESPN's Howard Bryant thanks so much no my pleasure

"But but all that he's accomplished you know and honestly let me just say African Americans and we we don't we say we don't have enough people like Kobe that we can point to for some younger brothers to say Mangold. Be Him because Kobe did things the right way men in the NFL action packed. Because you have this basketball career in nominal and a lot of athletes. Get to that point when you're thirty five or forty and you go. Oh my God is it. It'll never get better than what it once was. And he had that second career where a lot of athletes will panic when they get there and what is my second career but but you could tell so that he would be one of those guys that could go a reinvent himself he he he was so maniacal about being great at what he told us. Focus into that. Whatever he put his focus in if he puts in that same fervor? You knew he would be Just just as successful when he was on his way to doing knowing that it's just it's a life taking way too early. Can you play football with that mentality from the standpoint of that focus is And I know basketball can be a one on one sport and football. Can't be but did you play against anybody that just sorta hated want to embarrass shoe and play with that singular. Focus that you play with guys like that there were there. Were a lot of guys that you got a chance to and they may express it differently only you know But but but do things to bring the best out of them. You know. Football's Lamar it's different. Because there's such as more emotional sport. You know some more most for one thing. When I think about Kobe I think about when Matt Barnes do you even own nerves it? Hey and. He didn't not to flinch a bit. Ninety you you. You can't even if somebody put an end quickly are you can stop. Who is from blankets? Even if you wanted to is call a natural body defense. His natural body defense didn't even move. I'm the I'm like. That's amazing man. That's amazing to show you the CONNOISSEUR. Just kind of courage in still courage that he has to sit there like Eh and not even flinch. That was amazing. Every time I see it now that you're a hall of Famer People WanNa know your opinion feels like it carries more weight. Because you're a hall of Famer you're like I mean now it now. Your words have a little bit more weight to them so my say. Hey Troy Paula Malu Hall of Famer Michael Right. But but a person's opinion is only as good as their knowledge based upon that subject. Okay but if I said so you're right when it comes to talk about football since I am a hall of Famer. My knowledge base should be wide in my opinion should carry weight. But if you get me to talk about other things than that thing may change a little you know what I mean may change things I know but then you know Coming through hard times I know that make dumb decisions. Is You get my bad decision. Oh God Almighty God Almighty that's why I love when people give me these pictures aside you know and it is a young picture like this Joe Fellow and I love the picture but I just want to slap that young fellow around a little bit I do man he spent some of my money comes to ask. I want to talk about. What were you thinking? Look at Michael you still you tell the story and you're a good sport because you learned the hard way when Dion was going to that hotel room that you were in that hotel room room and the you were you were partying and he went into that hotel room and you know let's as we run out because we always have. We all have fun back in the day but Diani name. It was smart enough to say. Okay that's enough we get now. Hi My is. You're you're you're you're in overtime. Overdoing cited that over time. We're overdoing it. We are getting out of it man. What was is beyond line? He's like Mike. I don't live like this time. Aw I gotTa keep you employed fell network in it is then you said it made it really. I don't honestly and I was worried about coming because we always have so much fun. You know. I've been here all the time with you. Guys will always have so much fun and it's it was. I don't think I've laughed since yesterday until right. Now I really don't man and it is good to allow for a little bit on I just I wanted wanted to. I don't know it's they'd spend two and a half hours where you know. We're paying respects Jerry West. Reggie Miller some people you put and I've been watching it and and it's been great to you really have an end paying playing some of the seminole who and you listen to him and even now now you know he he he sound brilliant then put even sounds more brilliant now that we know he's gone and you know it's it's just an incredible incredible credible soul before I let you go got Jimmy Johnson Story. Now that he's a hall of Famer I'm just so happy. He's all famer and I saw him so emotional. You guys saw. It was just so happy and emotional man. We need a we need a good story for whereas this fellow frog. who was this emotional fellow that has emotions and vive these things? We didn't have that I've known since seventeen years. Oh I'm never seen these kinds of Moses. It's Jimmy where Jimmy my God. And he knew he knew it coming. Got A lot of us from the ghettos of these Miami and Fort Lauderdale the very hose and when we did not have good practicing C. would always bring us up and say I know you guys and everybody your family think we made it out we got it. "Tim Kawakami after Landing Leonard is Jerry West the best front office executive in N._B._A.. History who else would be on that list besides Red Auerbach. I'm I'm guessing I mean all the deals that read did you know but it was a different N._B._A.. Back then but I always thought that if whenever Red Auerbach would call that I wouldn't want to answer like this can't be good if reds calling here yes it does seem like if you're on a phone call Red Auerbach Jerry West and they're suggesting trade. You should know that you're losing that trade that they agree to write like let's say Yeah Jerry West is I. We have a deal in principle. I would be like I'm hanging up because that means that's a bad move for hey we're interested in such and such why I'd be nervous though whenever Jerry would call Jerry West Hall of Famer Clipper Special Consultant former warriors executive and former clippers G._M.. Former Laker G._M.. I Jerry how are you. I'm fine. Thank you are you. I'm doing okay. How excited are you well? It's was pretty Good Friday night. I guess a couple of days ago. If if you get few days ago for the for the clippers and <hes> you know obviously it bought a lot of excitement I think everyone involved <hes> in in acquiring the two players that we acquired so pretty special day for <hes> southern California basketball particularly with guys at the Lakers have Lebron and Anthony so <hes> been <hes> been pretty cool time from basketball in southern California. What role did you play and bringing Kawhi Leonard to town very small okay? I just had a voice <hes> our front office is really terrific okay and <hes> they all behind the scene saying Lawrence Frings so Michael Winger and Trent Radin. They were really <hes> on top of this thing the whole way and you know when new initially today it's just so different than the players are free to move around. <hes> agents obviously employers contribute where where they go at. I've never seen anything like it. We're players can recruit other players but <hes> I guess it's it's a modern day N._B._A.. And <hes> the I think it's it's an awkward situation. When when you're in the east positions <hes> too high have an opportunity to maybe acquire a player like like the ones we've talked about and more importantly ah for the team that gets them? It really does wonders for franchise. <hes> it just hard to describe the excitement <hes> within the clipper organization. I'm sure the Lake Organization also but when you get Kurai I then how long do realize or is getting quieting. You know deep hinging on getting Paul George's well like how do those two. How how did they connect well? Obviously I think they have great admiration and <hes> for each other's game and and you know I'm I try to be <hes> you know completely fair and honest all the players don't league but honestly think there's two two best way players in basketball and to get them on one night <hes> as I say..

If we could have thought bubbles with Ray on when I'm saying, you know, the balls resting on the palm of your hand a little bit too much there. And that's when we started to have that weird exchange. It'd have been like if he was, you know, Dan back in the nineties. Here's how you in key should have done sportscenter. That'd be exactly what I would have respected him for saying that, right? I would have been okay with that. Sure I would have been better if he said that to me than he was with me saying to him because these one of the great shooters of all handled it. Well, I mean he did. I he looked at you. Like are you crazy you Syria? And then he was like, yeah. Okay. All right guy. Okay. Can we agree on one thing with me, critiquing rail, and shot was the ball resting on the palm of his hand? Okay. That's all I was saying to Ray is the great ones. Don't have the ball resting on the poem their hand, but they're on their fingertips his existence. Disproves your theory, doesn't it? I think he got a little lazy with his jumper since he retired and I was just pointing out Ray shooter shoot for the rest of their lives. Okay. Don't start slacking come on homes. Message sent loud. And if it means Ray doesn't come back, but he's at home right now practicing and saying, can't on hunting. Would you look and see if the balls or the palm of my hands? When I shoot you think he's gonna regret what could have been with his career after that day. Like I just done dance at I would have been one of the greater shooters of all time, even greater than it was. Okay. I did this to a guy who played in the big east, and he actually started in the big east for a couple of years. I'll I mean. No. But I did meet with him and he wasn't a great shooter. And in the first five minutes, I said, well, this is what you're doing wrong. And he goes, no one's ever told me that. And he started two years in the big east. And I said, here's what's wrong with your shot. That was it. He didn't take offense to it. He said, thank you. Yes. It's an interesting comparison that you make. Because starting two years in the big east and being one of the greatest shooters in NBA history are like, right. Next thirty close. Yeah, pretty close. But it's me trouble shooting. And I'll do that. I could never do that to Jerry West because Jerry the ultimate shot. So I'd never do that. The great Jerry West he will join us coming up next, and we'll talk about this, great on, you know, knowing, how humble Jerry, West is, I want to know what that reaction was, like, when he heard that the president was going to ward him, the presidential medal of freedom, the highest honor that a civilian can get he'll talk to us about that coming up next twenty two after the hour here on the Dan Patrick show. Shocking now that the NBA also we're going over time for the second half of the season to get underway. President Trump said on Twitter, the nation's highest civilian honor, we'll go to west for his outstanding career both on and off the court. Trump also wished west a happy birthday after he turned eighty one on may twenty eighth. Trump gave the presidential medal of freedom to tiger. I'd wanna be just he's fearless. Dan. My gosh, she is fearless. And he is unbelievably valuable in our players really look up to him. And listen, you know, some of this stuff he does out there. He's he's irritating. And if you get caught up in that. But he also is a good player. That's where people don't, you know? They just look at any moment. He's a nearest. Hey, no. He's really good. If he doesn't score point. He's a so valuable to the clippers great to catch up with you and birthday coming up in may, right? Oh my goodness. Yes. A lot of them. Dan. When you you. You can come out. And celebrate I don't celebrate them. If so many now, I don't I don't celebrate him you, and I can go out and have a front per se. Be my guest. Right. That's awesome. Hey, the end of the clippers as I said to Doc Rivers couple of weeks ago. I love watching them because they never quit. And that says a lot to the people who were behind the scenes to who brought in these players who you may not know him. But man, I love when they take the floor because that's there's no quit in them. And that's reflective. I think of the people brought him in so credit to you and doc in you know, Steve bombers well. But it's always great to talk on, Dan. It really hasn't dock and Lawrence Frank have been oh my gosh. They've done just a fantastic job. And it's it's fun to see how people react when they're around the even though they don't get a little dog does. But Lawrence Lawrence doesn't get enough loc-. That's for sure. Well, good to talk to you. And thanks again as always Jerry anytime, Dan, my best to you. Jerry, West clippers advisory. Did Jerry was just invite you to dinner. Do you want me to play that back to is to make sure? Oh. You you notice I acted like. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. But in your head you're getting a little dizzy right now. Oh polling when I know I'm looking on Jerry West brought out the cake for our ten year anniversary, a belief. I'm glad to camera wasn't on me. Because I did get a little misty on that one. I because I didn't see because he was often the shadow in police surprised me. And all the guys said, you know, what let's bring somebody on to bring out the cake, and it was Jerry West. And I all of a sudden, I see I couldn't tell that was Jerry West. I just saw somebody. We said the owner of Jerry's cakes and wanted to bring the cake in personally, and I could just see that. He had this yellow sweater on. I mean, he looked like he was out of a catalog, and I I couldn't see his face. And I thought oh man this guy, you know, boy, he's really well dressed and tall. And all Michaels was there, and I just looked over. And then all of a sudden Jerry West came into the light and went home again, Jerry West is bringing the cake up there. Yeah. And and I go back to the early. Seventies. When I got a chance to watch him play against the Cincinnati royals, and his hair was always parted perfect. He'd Liz uniform was Chris he had the Adidas he had the sweat bands. He just he he was right out of a, you know, a fiction novel now that that's what the basketball player would look like chip Hilton, you know, for two. Now, just seeing how you know emotionally. You got going what he means to you? And you know, we all as a group like who would be the perfect person to deliver his head. He'd be in town. And he he didn't even give it a second thought that he wanted to be a part of that ceremony. Well, the first time that we had him on every time. I looked at him. I saw my dad, and that was really tough to get through the interview. Because my dad said do you want to be a ball player watch how he plays? And I just remember he played on the west coast. I'd stay up late and they'd lose all the time in the finals. I I'd be crushed. I didn't want to go to school the next day. But I wanted to be like Jerry West. And of course, I couldn't be, but I just admired how he looked how.

"He's a pragmatist he recognized what transpired this season. He knows that the Lakers weren't the same since LeBron James got injured went down. And even when he came back. They wasn't they weren't saying. But I can tell you I can tell you this right now knowing Kobe the way I do for the twenty plus years that I have known him for the twenty years that I have known them. Let me assure you of what Kobe is feeling in. This regard. Injuries definitely rake rate. No question about it. But of Kobe got engine was out eighteen games. And then came back in the Lakers still stunk up the joint with him on the squad. What would we be saying? See guys like Kobe and hall of famers, all they ask is that the standard and the level of accountability to superstars in the world of sports. Be the same. Everybody gets held to the same standard. And then you judge though fluctuate and be harsh with somebody while giving somebody else a pass. There's a little Koby ones. Remember that? Because you don't pay attention to what's going on here. Make no mistake about that. Let's get back to the phones. Vicky you live at Stephen Stephen how Vicky I'm good. How are you? I'm doing the right. Thank you for calling. How can I help you? I just wanted to. I was watching you on ESPN news right now. Listening to you talk about jury or talk to Jerry West I'm from West Virginia same hometown, he came from raise from common creek. I went to same house school. He went to graduated from east Bank. How school whereas primarily measure r? He's a great, man. Gary with. Town home of my favorite mountaineers. Yeah. Problems lately. But yeah, we have. But I still love I'm a true fan. Fair weather fans. Still behind the one hundred percent, and I'm not a big big fan of professional basketball. But I do love the warriors cause ain't nobody like Steph curry I loved watching throw that three balls. But I just want to say, hey, first time caller first time watching I'm looking at you right now on ESPN news. Love your said. Thank you so much Vicky. Appreciate the call. Thank you. Thank you. And Jerry Wexler. He's when he speaks. We all listen when it comes to basketball. He's that's Beshir. He's just especially when he gives a lot of credits. Lawrence ranking, Doc, Rivers and shit 'cause Doc Rivers noses basketball. Make no mistake about it. But it's not an accident. This T-ball got Jerry West as the executive in his ear as the consultant is rather because he knows Jerry knows plain and simple. Rocky you lava Stephen they go. Hey, rocky. "You know, people say, well, you know, this guy's gonna sign somewhere else. I guys on the side somewhere else if they wanna go some well fine. This is about competition. And that's where I think the front office makes a difference. Again. My pilots are to the thority that Steve bomber who is one of the best owners and I worked for one here in Los Angeles. And jerry. He is one of the best owners and nicest man, I have ever met. You would never know that he's successful. He is really normal. But the thing I love about him. He is so competitive and at the end of the day who do you wanna be around? You wanna be around really competitive people who are going to let his staff run this team, they run everything by but he is mazing owner. Jerry, stay right there. Because here's what we're gonna talk. We're talking to the great Jerry West right here with Steven on ESPN radio and ESPN news. I'll ask you this question Jerry West because you know, Lawrence rank was wants to coach in this league. He knows his basketball. Now, we know what Doc Rivers knows. He's a champion. Okay. Bloomer is is the billionaire who is as you said one of the nicest people you could ever want to meet what role does Jerry West play with this. I know you're a consultant, but how much cash shea do you have how much do you utilize how much do you talk with in communicate with these folks? Because in you, we're talking about one of the great executives in the history of basketball with David. I'm. Well with dog, I don't bother him as much the one thing. I never would never do with the coaches tell him what to do. I even as a when I was involved here in locally, and Memphis and also with with the warriors. I think it's wrong to fear with a coach's ability to create what he wants to create and dock, and I will tell I will tell you. We like some of the players and no question about that. But if they made it easier for me, Stephen, I talk all the time Lawrence. There's not a day. And it goes by that we either don't talk text each other. But the people in the office Michael winger, we had a brilliant man in our front office and Lawrence again. I don't think there's an executive the league that's out watching players as much as him. He is a tireless worker, and I told him one time as Lawrence said, look, we've got about six other people out there scouting force. Who are all terrific? And my role as I view is just to be an adviser. I'm not someone here. I don't like attention. I don't like the bliss the, but I do love competition and whoever were playing the Lakers or the Celtics whoever I want us to win. And I will tell you Stephen nights. I'm going home this year where I haven't been able to sleep because a great wins. We've had I just sat there and again, a tribute to Lawrence and attributed doc that he has taken east players and mold them into a team that really believes they can win. When I tell you this much knowing Lawrence Franken. Everybody knows Lauren. Frank knows how competitive he is. Okay. Anybody? That knows Doc Rivers knows how competitive he is anybody that sees the Boehm at the games knows how competitive he is. But when we talk about Jerry West who is audibly one of the ultimate competitors. Okay. Even though you're consulted look championship when you were championships when you were with the Lakers championship. Ultimately, you want to go to State Warriors? I think one of the most brilliant moves that I've seen in the modern day was when you hired the great Hugh Brown to be the coach of the Memphis grizzlies when nobody was thinking about Hebr out, and you got him off the scrappy out of the brook as well to come work with you as the head coach in Memphis who developed Gusau now, I'm looking at you with the clippers..

"But he does it he scores in and bunches. And if you get somebody make three or four baskets in a row and probably a couple of threes, those separate close games, and then mantras Herro as been tremendous. He has really improved his game. And he has really taken a gigantic step forward. Stephen. And like you. I'm flabbergasted because I watch our guys shoot around. Sometimes I'd say myself my gosh. You know, how are we going to score points? But we score points. We score points. Like it's like magic sometime. But as I say, it's been so much fun for me to watch. And you know, I would be really remiss if I didn't really talk about Lawrence Frank's Michael winger and his office Lawrence's assembled. I think he should be as active year hands down. He's done just an incredible job of making trades that have made us so much more. The important going forward. You know, everyone always talks about free agency. I think free agency. Sometimes if you got a lot of money to spend, and we have a lot of money to spend sometimes fool's gold because you don't get a player that you think is a player that's going to be able to significantly help your franchise. And you know, you read all this stuff in the newspaper. I wish people would just stop it. No one knows what is going on behind closed doors with players and their agents in particular, and it's a it's a huge financial hit for player to take. And anyway, I just think we're so well position because the sign the things we some of the things Lawrence has done their front office. There has never been a harder working for an office in this period. I've have never seen a front office workers heart. Jerry was how do you like this? I've got Lawrence Frank's as audibly the executive of the actively agree with you with that with a couple of moves that he's made. There is no question and created castrates. You're gonna have more Cavs Mason the Lakers paying attention to that. Okay. I got Doc Rivers as a top three coach at a year, we're booted holes in Milwaukee and Malone in Denver. I think they both have done outstanding jobs as well. As Doc Rivers. You can't ignore that. And I got without question. The sixth man of the year in Lou Williams. So that's how I'm looking at the clippers having said all of that Jerry West I will ask you this as we sit here today. Did you imagine that losing Chris Paul Blake Griffin de'andre Jordan that you would find yourself as an organization not talking to just you? But as an organization, did you imagine that you would find the clippers and this position right now. But tick when you couple that with the fact that the other team in LA off the Lakers, and they just got LeBron. Did you see this coming? Well, obviously, I think. You know, when you play LeBron James caliber, and Stephen I've been a huge fan of his been a great defender of him over the years when he gets somebody like that you bringing into town. You know, I was frankly excited because I like to watch him play sometimes things through injuries. They've got they've had a ton of injuries this year him included, and, but the expectation level that people have when you had a player that importance it is just tough sometimes to achieve it. But I would tell you in and far as the clippers. I believe in competition. Okay. I don't think there's any one player unless he's young. And and normally talented that if you into date they and aid the way this game is played and his plates. Ignificant different coaches have had to change their philosophies because it's three point line. If you can add a player that would maybe be a huge danger before the three point line have good. Passing team and more importantly, a terrific defensive day. Nothing nothing is impossible in this league. And I've always said sometime that I think sometimes you can play trade players off your team that everyone praises and you can become a better team. Sometimes subtraction by is some trial. Sometimes if you subtract something it'll add dishing somewhere else on your team. But I've never been afraid..

"Every night said Michael was a higher highwire act. You never knew which way that issue was gonna fall between the the great individual and the team. But you know, tech said Michael played those three years at UNC and that made the difference. He really had enough of because at UNC system was so tough. He had enough team background where he could really make the sacrifices. He had to make a lot of people don't know. And I learned this in your book a mind games during that year off when Phil leftism goggles that year he had off before there. And before he came to the Lakers as the head coach Jerry West was dead set against hiring. Phil Jackson the coach. And I think Jerry could see the writing on the wall or maybe he was going to be the one who had wind up going Phil came there. And you're sitting in the forum one day was it at a practice rolling in. The subject came up to Jerry Wesson, any blew his stack about Phil Jackson. Right. He started launching F bombs. I just mentioned fills name, and he starts going after Phil Jackson. We know Jerry Jones because no f- Phil Jackson and a month later. He was hiring him. So, you know. Well, why why is it that? He was so dead set against Phil Jackson. Did it go back to their days as players in Philip just come off six world championships? Why would be against him being the head coach of the Lakers. Well, you know, Jerry and Phil had some history. Jerry, West was a pretty close with Jerry, Krause, and Krause and Phil got into terrific odds, and you know, lose all this light. And he's liberal. He was liberating for basketball the dark side. And you know, he could be pretty sneaky and manipulating and so it was. Yeah. The other thing was Jerry always had this belief that you had to amass talent that coaching was okay, but coaching wasn't the final determinate in the NBA. And so the idea that you know, and the circumstances I have to add this Jerry Buss sorta after years of trusting Jerry West as as those Lakers began to struggle in the late nineties with the talented roster. Jerry Buss lost a lot of faith in Jerry West. I don't know if that was justified. I don't think so, but it created more anxiety and Jerry West, and I just think. You know, he saw fill is Dr Dr bus having a gimmick to sell season tickets. Hey, Roland, can we do another segment with you? And we're up against the break here. Do you have time go right to break to stick around? I want to ask you about the show that that book about Lakers history about how Jerry tar canyon was almost the coach of the Lakers that that is a fascinating story. I want to get into with you.
