"Bom man say Lakers poor Michael Jordan Oh yeah so we. We talked about this earlier while we were waiting for an interview. We did mud bill. Seven has come out at stake. Seven's already co signed it and I don't have any qualms with Russillo Bill Simmons said Dennis Rodman nod interesting. It's a tate. Listen I listened to it. I went after much. Yeah I listened to it and now they're both heavy on that side of it. I just very much disagree with them. Do they have any good points? I'm trying to basically. It was Russillo point. He did originally bring it up but the point. You know what somebody says that you're like okay. I'm listening like make your argument. Somebody says up. And you're like after that I'm out. After the way he treated him in San Antonio I was like okay never mind I I get it. We just see this differently. He's like are you kidding me? He's going to decide to take a forty eight hour vacation and this is just this is just funny. I'm like extremely wildly Mike. This is if he did like a forty eight hour bender every month. Maybe if this is a one time that we know of like over eighty two game. Okay if they just call it. Those load management now right didn't say you know what I'm saying but yeah. He missed a Friday and Saturday game. You'll be back to vegas the hawks. It's someone who's so in tapped with like the league right now so worried about mental health as well they should be but Dennis. Rodman was so in tune with his own. It was like listen. I need this for my own mental breakdown and like IOS line someone at Midcourt and none of that's like an incredible thing to self diagnose and Bill Simmons like a bum will also like I don't know what happened in San Antonio but it might have been a thing where it's like. I've been trying to get this for Like you might see. I think y more just confirms it. Now they have one way. It's it's a successful way right. But if you're not in that way while they traded him for like Wilbur do like they just wanted him out of there but yet once he said that he was He also was like A. I don't guys to turn it off and turn it on. In the first person he mentioned was Rasheed Wallace and I was like I'm out. I'm out because I love her. She Wallace I get it. I what you're saying. He's received was unhappy in Portland and then he left. And he's just a Mr great teammate. In Detroit in their champion now and everybody's okay with that might listen. They were jail blazers. Wash it again. Just be stuck in a message waiting. Don't WanNa be I don't and like there have been countless guys. It's like Oh if you just got him out of that situation I'd Betty aid thrive and then they do like. This isn't like a thing that happened like once. Every forty years Vince. Carter about to make the hall of Fame Office. I'm he hates it to his credit concert. He hates men. Scott the Simmons. The again Russillo was the the main but just to go immediately to Rashid. It's like interesting when a guy was a better scenario. Blake better right I like my only gripe is if you sign a contract you don't like meteor like immediately. I one out that is kind of weak but mentioned it so those were the two once he said those two things I was like. Yeah we're just GONNA disagree. Here he was like nothing is robins like the misunderstood guy he was. We didn't learn anything new about Rodman which I don't disagree with that I didn't know nobody knew this Vegas Story. I don't think now in general but I I didn't learn a whole knew about the bad boy pistons but I still like to watch. I'm yeah I mean he looks like ESPN. This was when they did that. Three par Celtics Lakers series. No Alert Shit knew about that any out anyone other than me. I didn't even complain. I was just like you all that I was sick to watch but it was like okay. And he's like so he's he's I'm so misunderstood as I okay. So he's on Barbara. Walters explain yourself on just percent stood. I dye my hair and all this stuff. Like eight and book is Self Barbara Walters. Right like Anna. I see where he's coming from we've just onto completely opposite sides but those all seem like even more like. I don't like this guy. Not even defending like he's not interesting. By which again. We talked about a little bit earlier. I respect that much more. They were like man. I just like I just don't like did they. Rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like them. Whatever Oak. I get that right but if you can say. This guy was part of two dinosaurs The Pistons a dynasty. Like back to back and it was something I think Simmons set back to back at a time when nobody it was like Russell. Those Magic Lakers with only gas to go back to bed so going back then and the way they did it like they went. Through the Celtics Bulls Lakers in the same year and lost two games that entire postseason so but it was only two year run. Also whatever whatever you whatever the run I mean they didn't even win the second most titles in the eighties yet like the end. That's the thing is a dynasty right. Whatever what what's the closest you can be a dynasty without being a dynasty Well that's what I mean like. They're his there a notch above like the cavs team that won at once the other Pistons. Teammate WanNa wants the oath Celtics. They're knowledgeable but I don't know without say said I would go. Would you call the Lebron heat a dynasty now right so I would also nobody? I don't know if anybody ever has a run like that. Like Celtics Bulls Jordan. When he was Jordan. Right Lakers and those previous two years. I think they want eighty eighty nine eighty six. They lost to the Celtics in seven. I think like the eighty six like best team ever lost. Offers Finals Eighty seven? They lost to the Lakers in game. Seven of the finals. So that's one of those right. They were like very close to heaven. Three maybe four like who knows that they play the Lakers. Well who knows they might have three of four or six in eighty six. They were to beat. The rockets rockets was upset. So but and eighty seven. I think they went to seven with the Celtics that year. Too like they were going it was. It was a true. Like changing hands is what I'm saying. They went to seven loss. I believe they went to it was six or seven one and then lost the Lakers. And then they got over that next year Pass that year. They were Super Radio and I talked about the it was like the Pistons thing. They're kind like underappreciated into psych. Ma like you went up against like the Bull Celtics Lakers. You beat those guys. You get your credit but you also weren't those guys so you don't get that credit is what it is at the Celtics. What one three in the eighties? But we're in what five like Elliott Elliott with the Lakers. I might add win and lose those. You got to the end The six at the right time In the eighties. One okay. Gherman banker that I think it was eighty three. That was that was the eighty fifth award event and I think it was the year before they got Barclay. If I'm not mistaken I thought it was eighty. Two eighty three the Lakers beat them. Yeah let me. I'm checking right now. Let me make sure. Because I'm Donna. Okay they okay. Eighty.

"Into Jerry Stackhouse to head coach at Vanderbilt and former NBA. All Star eighteen years in the league stack. How are you today in in Nashville? I'm going well. We'll always respect. You guys have myung destroying. Stay safe practicing the social distancing them religious. Just an home really. Yeah I'm curious stack. You finished your first year at Vandy and NBA players. Now are you know they scatter they keep in contact with their team? But they're not necessarily leading on their head coach for a lot of direction and guidance during that during the pandemic and the uncertainty and having to leave campus. What's it like for you at the College Level And maybe the way those young guys really are looking to you to give them some direction right now man. It really awesome like unique and challenging times for for everyone you know. Daily lives really been interrupted in ways that we never seen. So it's like now we're Those guys don't really know what to do. You had to just you know. Send them home this rushing to get them out of here getting them to to their loved ones Say Back with their families and now it's like okay. We can send you a couple of workouts. We still WANNA try to maintain some semblance of trying to improve and get better as as a basketball lead as an athlete. But it's just right. Now we're just a hands are tied. Wha- what has been your message to your guys right now Most of them I. I'm sure are finishing the spring semester at home Like you said you. Can't you know even in the NBA? They can send guys equipment and workout equipment at some of those things in their shipping. At the guys. I don't think you guys can do that kind of thing. Let what's been your message to to your guys during this time where our message was just to kind of continue the trend that we had to indices is. We had a tough season for Adversity that would injuries in different things. But I think we really started to trend and got better towards the end of season and just make sure that we keep keep that as continued to work at home work on your body's no you may be in a lot of our kids do have access to where they may be have accord or have a gym. They could go and shoot and just just to continue that progression of getting better. Because I think that's the that's the key for what we wanted to. We have to be from within. I don't know how many against a four star athletes but the five star athletes in the have a three point better. Gpa In scored over a thousand on the sat in their few out but not as many as a they are that. That don't have it so we have to try to build within Message for our guys. Continue to get better. Yeah I would not have take away the basketball lack of basketball ability. I would not have been able to be recruited by Vanderbilt. You just you just laid out those academic parameters that I would not have met maybe maybe I don't even think I had a thousand on the. Sat Sec so more will got our stack this Dino Stack. I had I took the. Sat's twice. I did worse on the second time and I said I'm not taking this thing a third time. Go down again. You're not supposed to let you go down. Man You throw these disfavor yet again. I I don't think you know that half the I was more confused. I was more confused on the math. The second time But I went to the Vanderbilt of South West New York State Saint Bonaventure so they found out. Found place for me Haystack when you think about you leave. Carolina it ninety five to go to the NBA get drafted third overall. How different when you think. About being recruited in Kingston North Carolina. In what recruiting was like. Then what college basketball was like. Then how different of a world is it that you walk back into a year ago when you took advantage of it is it is completely different to a certain extent Thankful for me like I said growing up in Kensington and that they just became bombarded all the college coaches because I was one of the top players coming out in the country at that point so I still hear from everybody and then I went to Okayo for my senior year so in that was I think that had a little bit more resemblance of what it is now for top kids because they traveling all around the country planners of the top tournaments playing against some top competitions So I did have a little bit of a look into that but the social media and everything that that exist now so many platforms for guys to To to to have exposure to to see what they're doing I mean I think they may have been a chance of some guys being overlooked Back during that time but now so many platforms for guys to to get themselves out there. I just don't think as many kids fall through the cracks as maybe they did a little further back door during those early ninety days. How would have dean? Smith handled like players commenting on their playing time at Carolina on twitter and instagram. How I would've coach Smith how receptive to that idea Mana I I can. I can only imagine that you know he. He was a master sarcasm so it was Here right man. You think you name more plan. I've been watching the film and I think you probably need to work a little harder. I see that that wouldn't have went. Well what do you remember about him coming into your house? A Kid North Carolina who I think for people now who don't remember I mean Dean was bigger than life and and and it and it's funny when I say Dean. You Know Twenty Michael Coren who obviously played before you Carolina. Never forget this and whenever I better on Carolina guys who work in the NBA Number one I remember Would Michael Corn was with nets and I may. I said I said Dean to him and he just looked at me and said it's coach Smith Ride and the other one that I always remember. What Carolina Guises? We'd be at some scouting event and You Know Mitch Cub check would come up to say hello to some front office. Guy Worked in Carolina and the guy would jump up to his feet and shake his hand because at UNC. That's what Dean Smith taught you guys wouldn't want an alum comes up to you or a guy who played here. Who went year that you stand up and shake his hand? You greet them and it's funny to see thirty years later for some of these guys. They still follow sort of these guidelines. He put in place When they were kids. I think it's about you know how. Arken respect in earning your place and I think one of the toughest things that you can never go through as being a freshman at North Carolina the Dean air there was a assess kind of breaking you down no matter how good you are number. One player You know myself or she while it didn't matter Eric Montross Everybody coming in here. You'RE GONNA you're gonNA take the bags you're going to do all the lowly things that you know upperclassmen in don't have to do and I think is an we took that it's PRI- wouldn't take it as really a hazing or anything it's like you know Michael Jordan Carried this case James Worthy. You know did the same things and they were able to accomplish. Great things at the next level where we were all spiring go so I think mass standpoint we we took it as a badge of honor. Even though it may seem like you was Sometimes personal sometimes In a tough sometimes hard but we knew what once we were able to get through that that first years of Sometimes it really the first half of the year because you know at the end of the day coach smart now he wanted to win so even though we may not have played as much as we might want it to the beginning of that that freshman year when it came time to win games around. Acc Tournament and going into the SEC tournaments. He put the best group out there in in a lot of times. We reported at group Stack. You had there was like every few years somebody would come around. Who was physically similar to Michael Jordan? Stature you are about the same height You're a wing player Vince. Carter had this. You had this. I think others who didn't go to Carolina would be anointed with this. Here's the next Jordan. This is the next Jordan you. You're the top high school player in the country. All those things. Do you remember hearing that around you when you came in at. You're sort of that next. Vince then came after you hear it about him. People are always looking for the next NJ and every so often when you guys would get annoyed that what what you remember about sort of hearing that. When you're coming into college I thought it was. It was super flattering. For me right I mean I think not only just coming into college but you know that next Jordan going into the pros as well you know and it was just like you. It was flattering. That people could see what aspects of my game immoral or potential in my game to in to fill the doctor be in the same sentence with the Michael Jordan. Also I think from that point it was gratifying and then from one on the other half of it is like these people norm Powell fort that I never played him my life even at North Carolina power for both bogere starting at the four. Who was Jack McGinnis Dante Dante Labor hours. A foreign Russia was a five so I stepped when I got drafted number three by Philadelphia. I never played guard before my life. I mean I could have the ball to the basket so in my mind. I knew that it was. I had a long way to go to even become a guard at the at the next level in Nevada. My Games predicated to plan with the ball in my bag to the basket up until that point but because of my first step you know people just assume that I was I was a wing but so I I had to work those first years as a pro just to understand the nuances that might the Jordan or Kobe. Bryant or Those guys have been guards. All of their life of they grew up handling the Baugh was remember playing in a back when our guy drafted Philadelphia. John Lucas would have Kobe Bryant. He would come over and and different things and this kid was just like unbelievable just his ball handling ability because he grew up in Malate Michael Jordan. But ball hailing for for me. It was just a different world. Learn how to chase off screens. I was killed my first year. Coming off of pinned Different things just because I hadn't done even done a lot of that North Carolina it was. It was three quarter guys. I was fronting.

"Well, Jerry Stackhouse I'll say to Mike Sam Perkins. All those guys greet. You know, we're the who they have a long list the guys that I've seen play growing up, and maybe fen Carolina. But of course, might Chris full-time is a major factor in reason why a lot of kids make decisions they do today. Yeah. It's been interesting, actually. Watch that shift, and I'm sure you've seen it just even with your teammates. I mean, you're thirty one now. So I don't know where the dividing line is. But there's still there's a Jordan generation over this this, and this is with us in the media to right like in the ninety s I don't want to date myself. So there's there's a lot of us in the media. I think still clinging to Jordan when the goat debate happens because that was the guy and now it's I don't know again where the age cut off. But there's a lot of people who are like, no doubt. It's absolutely positively the Braun when a lot of it is kids have never actually even saw Jordan play live. They might have only seen him on on YouTube than clips. They don't realize how far ahead of the game. He was back. Then with the things that he did how cute let's say knock knock on the broad. He's definitely the greatest of his era. You know? And I was the Kobe Kobe at times a lot of guys shack is so many guys that had a time there's head of their, you know, their their generation and the greatest of a certain point, but Mike did it for so long did. So officially on both ends of the floor. One says so many like a good amount of championships to where is hard to argue anybody who's better than them. Did was he was either guy like when you were doing the who you're going to be you know, on the driveway running down. I mean, definitely him amongst others. As I grew up with Mike for sure because I mean, my probably stop playing retired as being a bull and early nineties early two thousands, and at that point, you know, just coming into high school to high school. I was watching other guys. So Vince, Tracy is Stefan marberry some other New York guys'll Amaro our tests so much different guys that we looked into watching and try to be like to our game. So new what Mike definitely was the guy when I was younger. I'm trying to think ODA Manar tests like that is that the last generation of like the big time, New York guy. So actually made an impact on the league. Rob. The guys that I can think of that were big names in the league or dad a stable or sense, or you know, just household names that like Lamar around our tests Sebastian tell of one of the last but before him. Kenyon said Katie Smith a couple of couple of guys in New York. They're older..

"And and jump in and then be athletes off the bounce. So I think that's where it goes. But I never even played shooting guard nothing really, not even North Carolina. I was powerful, you know, maintenance, led to the small for I was never shooting guard. So I never really took those comparisons to heart. You know, trying to be next Michael Jordan, anything like that. I just wanted to be the best Jerry Stackhouse that I could be and that wind up carbon almost a twenty year career, you know, as a professional basketball player. So, you know, whether some people look at that where you didn't, you know, reach, you know, Michael joins level or this and that and. I had the weather. My goal. My goal is to you know, try to beat the best that I can provide for my family, and I was able to do that for like I said eighteen years at the highest level and able to steal continue to be a part of the game of basketball at the highest level. You know now as a coach so man, I really have no regrets and look back in which anything, you know, they losing in the finals to to Miami really kinda sticks in my craw little bit, you know, count that that world championship eluding me over the time. But I don't know if I'd have done that would I had the passion to steal when NBA championship and and be as passionate as I am about coaching. I don't know. So I feel like everything that has happened over these last twenty five years half before reason and put me in a position to be where I'm at now still hungry still hungry to try to win. Win a world championship, and you know, not so much from my prowess on the basketball court. But now from you know, be able to use in my mind and being able to use my motivational skills and understanding of the game to to to help someone else do it. So and might be my greatest attribute in today average thirty and night in two thousand and nine. Night, bro. Scored four hundred points in one year. That is remarkable injuries injuries man toward the end. I in the middle. You know, I lost. I lost a lot of games where I felt like if you know, I was able to play those games, and you know, and be consistent as I was for year to year that easy be sitting on twenty four twenty five thousand points right now, and that's pretty much shoot, you know, shoe in as hall of fame. So I just feel like, you know, injuries can rob some of the, you know, long term things that you know, that we kinda spy for but at the end of the day, like I said, you know, I think everything happens for a reason. And and that maybe that's why I'm still here still part of the game because of all those underlying things that that happen. Good, bad or indifferent. But but there why I'm still here. Well, I I tell you what it's been just such pleasure to spend this time, man. Like what like live enjoyed it, man. Thank you for having me. It is my pleasure. And you have a great one brother and hey, good luck in the head coach hunt. You're going to get appreciate man. I appreciate it. Thank you. I can't tell you guys. What how it how it feels fills up my tank to hear that kind of insight and that kind of storytelling from guy who like I say, he's only a couple years older than me. I think stack is maybe only a year or two older than me. But I just remember watching him as such a passionate college basketball fan and watching those do Carolina games and watching those North Carolina Virginia games and just what a dominant player he was. And what a dominant group of players. They were with him. And you heard him talking about Donald Williams in Rashi Wallace and all those gas and I wanted so bad to ask him. I didn't get the chance to ask him. 'cause I felt like I was I think Travis had had gotten Jerry for twenty minutes. And I think I'm already thirty. But you heard him saying all those names, Brian Reese, and that whole lot of guys..

"It is a pleasure in my life to have the opportunity to talk to a guy grew up watching. We're almost the same age. You might be year. Two older me, Jerry. We won't tell anybody. Jerry Stackhouse, and we'll get into your coaching desires, and we'll get into your amazing MBA career and all that stuff in a little while. But we don't talk a whole lot of college hoops because I grew up on tobacco road. And you are one of those guys man who was just a staple of one of the greatest rivalries and all of sport. So I wanna start there. I saw Yuban. I saw you. I went to Duke basketball camp. A couple times I went to several camps there. And I think you were a rising freshman at Carolina. I think you just graduated from high school. You were participating in a counselor game at night in Cameron into and brother Esau, you dunk all over Christian Leitner. It was it was it was something to say, man. I I wanna know first of all do you? Remember those times? Yeah. I was really close at Grant Hill that data time, you know, we had. Just close to him coming up on. Unofficial visit stuff in grant was it was great. You know, like always invited me to come out. You know, known official workouts and stuff and we used to have some great runs. Do really high on my list? And I mean is I- stories. Crazy funny thing happened, and I was up there again at a in a little bit later in my career high school career was and I got to say, I got some for my scrimmage something. And it was like coast coast K wants to see you in office. And it was basically like almost like a automative thing. He had tried that with a lot of players before and has excess where he basically told me, you know, that I need to let him know what I was going to do what it was going to put more focus on Joey beard. So basically say we'll just go with joy beard, and I never came back to campus again. Does the total Desta guys on his truth idea at this? I can't believe it. I mean, I'm near on. Unofficial visit on my own time. And I get basically out tomato to say. All right. You need to let us know. What you do got on my experience. My I'm a make my decision when his my decision, and I decided to go to North Carolina and never looked back. I could hear the smile on your face. When you started that answer about. And as you progressed through your answer, that smile was gone, Jerry. I heard it just leave the premises. Unbelievable. Man believable. But it worked ended differ. Recruit employs work with different guys yet didn't work with me. I mean like I didn't feel like it was should come down between me enjoy beer decide on scholarship, but it did. And so I I made it easy on them. Go a Joey beard. So how do you describe for someone who may not have grown up in the south the magnitude and the passion and the hatred in that eight miles between Duke and Carolina. I just think it's, you know, arrived as you know, taking on a life of his own just from the standpoint of is we have so many great teams. Great players have been great coaches. At the end of the day. I feel like oh Smith to me. I'm biased like, he's degraded coast. Every who I play for who. I learned a ton from as a player and in coast caved. He's right there. Do you can't he's probably not even to one one eight one b what he's been for college basketball. And so when you when you have those good teams, those great coaches that going to be some, you know, real emotion become a part of of derive Rin, and it's trickle down to the fans go down to the students, and it's just is is a fine time of the year when when do kinda gets together, no matter what sport it is. But I was the college basketball agreement crop when it comes to their rivalry. What's the memory for you? Is it the reverse dunk on the baseline?.

"Hey, y'all up to the party Smith's American podcast topped the party's this America podcast. The Marty Smith's America podcast volume thirty six and it is also I get the great opportunity to hang out today with Jerry Stackhouse, the former university of North Carolina all American national player of the year. You name it stack had an eighteen year NBA career that dude scored thirty points night in two thousand two thousand one I think that's the right year. It's not Travis just tell somebody later, but I think that's the right year thirty nine he went for like twenty nine and a half a night that is on believable. And this conversation was so interesting. You guys are really going to enjoy what stack has to say about his time at North Carolina the mentor ship and the insight and the perspective and the love that he received from Dean Smith. The legendary Carolina coach, and what he has to say about coaching, and what he has to say about the NCWA is extremely interesting, and that's not all I had Ohio State versus Michigan. The game this past weekend in Columbus, Ohio. It was my first experience at that game. And it was wonderful and a whole lot of weird stuff happened. So we're going to catch up with the weirdness. We're going to chat with Keegan Kim. He's the kid. You guys have seen all over TV who crowd served from the bottom of the student's section all the way to the top and looked utterly terrified doing it. And we're also going to chat with a couple state dad's. I don't know if you guys saw the shot, I did where the one guy was just pointing at me the whole time and the other guy stone-faced as the devil just eased in the Lao shot and eased right back out, and they both became phenomenons. That's coral Hilliard. Just in Hilliard's father just in place for Ohio State. And Montas Peterson cage. He'll step dad. They're really close friends, and they are hysterical y'all aren't gonna want to miss that. But before we get to all that. I want to remind you guys you gotta go get a suit from Indochino Indochino, the world's most exciting made to measure menswear company..

Yeah, I think Bagley could definitely drop it thirty piece on that team. No, trae young pig, especially hang book right now. Yeah, I don't. I don't know. I don't. I think he ain't to get a lot of double doubles. He takes me as a thirteen and ten guy more than thirty guy, but I'm sure you could drop it thirty. That'd be it wouldn't be terribly guesses. They took all them. So I'm Colin sex just because you'll have the ball. He need more be more tattoos. He's a plan to Cleveland all the Cleveland Dame. You gotta fi, you've got a close up, look at Clarkson tattoos to the not good. Yeah. View. I kind of took that roses. But it is what it is close to get fired. I coach hired. Who was the first one to get hired if a coach was, I know it depends a lot of their who's the coach him. Ooh, what's? What's it called name? Memphis right now. Biggest j. "Well, now's the next part stuff needs to be good. Right. Is the next night this shop the pig. Ears to be good. I'm encouraged. I've enjoyed an athlete documentary, but that's the next level. Is this good? I have no real indicator when LeBron's taste on when it comes to programming. That's what I wanna see. Well, the good indicator for that is, you know, Ryan Kugler is a producer on Space Jam to their sprinkling in a little bit of highbrow amid globe route. And so that to me is a sign that maybe he's actually going to try and push the John four. See, that doesn't tell me anything about good taste, hey, get the guy who directed Black Panther to come, do a movie that everybody loved in the first place, right? Like that, all that one, eight hard like this other stuff like Muhammad Ali documentary, that is an ambitious undertaking and not that easy to get right. Antoine food was doing that. I have faith that that's a good choice, hopefully. All right. In closing, I like to thank Jerry Stackhouse whereas new foul role as peacemaker. Now, one would think at least those of us who know they would kiss the together. Now, you know you in Trump. The kiss North Carolina's though Stackhouse call Port Arthur Texas, Stephen Jackson to squash, whatever that was between Jackson and the Wiggins brothers sea, Andrew Knicks, Dan Mitchell is from Kingston and his close with stack. So Jerry made the pizza. And I'd just like to say to the Wiggins brothers seems you boys know stat. You wouldn't have said anything like that step. Steve has stacking his phone OG Stackhouse because he's a lot like step you feel the number on screen shot is telling to me one minute and three seconds for Stephen Jackson to commit to the idea of. To stop doing this because this man, Jerry Stackhouse is one of the few people that apparently can have that influence on a guy, even Jackson that everybody. Otherwise I imagine I don't know how the call right, but I imagined the call is Jerry Stackhouse a man who lets nothing slum called another man who lets nothing slide and saying. Now you know how to let nothing slide right dude for me, man. Cool with me, you know, the so wall and then go from there. But I do feel like the young players in the NBA like this new cycle is your opportunity to appreciate that. If you're playing streetfighter main of MBA characters, Stephen Jackson is maybe not the final boss because Jerry Stackhouse maybe that also the teachable moment here is don't everybody reply with means? Okay, don't don't. Don't have these people fool. Some people were with the good old fashioned. Yes, and it's not going to be so good for you in closing. I want to invite America to join me in Conteh. To marvel at a tweet that I did not believe was real, to be played honest with you here. It is for years. I have stayed away from Twitter because there was very little positively. I will stay completely away from cynicism and destructive words. I hope to bring a spirit of optimism which is so needed today. Now let us reveal who this is from. Oh, it is our whole check now, old friend, Rick Petito Bomani when we saw this tweet appear yesterday, there was no blue check. We thought this was fake. It might be right. It seemed to pitch perfect. It does seem to pitch perfect also team nonsensical, because if you are this man, Rick Pitino who has traffic din inspirational books for his whole life, Twitter, right. To avoid cynicism to avoid insults is like going to the sewer and saying, I am not here for sewage. "Get some answers the comeback if you can you people are only going to ask you about something that happened a decade ago i said this was inbound only from tom izzo standpoint if tom izzo wants to coach in the nba he's gotta do it now he's got to do it before he hit sixty five or sixty six and he just looks antiquated now he's probably there already but i think the fact that he's been in college has given him a youthfulness that might be refreshing over the right fit for one of these teams it's going to have to rebuild with young players so i'm taking inbound but only from izzo perspective he's definitely an energetic sixty three there's no doubt it's obvious the energy just loses out he's kind of like a defensive coordinator definitely deploys that mentality and we say out of bounds here though i like to see the pistons higher jerry stackhouse or even the orlando magic the raptors are different they're obviously bill to win now for the most part i don't know that i'd want to experiment with a college coach your young coach like stackhouse here's the thing that i say out of bounds for this reason forget about the fact that i don't really like seeing people run from problems that's number one point number two just from a basketball point of view it's gonna take two to three years to get it going in orlando or in detroit at the were to take that job right at that point now you get into the mid to upper sixties and if it doesn't work they're going to get him get him to sign they'd have to give them five years minimum maybe six so they'd give him the benefit of the down keep them around for a little bit at at that point he started trend towards seventy and i don't think you'd be appealing for another nba job you can't go back to michigan state not that a college wouldn't hire he's tom izzo but your home is michigan state fits your house through fix that place true out of bounce true for by yeah what happened with with michigan state.

"After getting swept out of the playoffs by the cleveland cavs toronto has fired coach dwane casey league sources telling espn he coached the raptors for seven seasons and led the team to five straight playoff appearances in three consecutive fifty win season stephen i know you think fondly of casey what's your reaction to this news well the instant reaction is that it's bs i don't think he deserved it because he lost to the best player in the world now it doesn't help that he got swept but if you look at the roster that was assembled in how they fold whenever lebron james is in their facility i don't know how you can blame the coach for that having to deal with the personnel as if you had lost to various teams over the last three or four years in the playoffs i get that point in other words it wasn't just cleveland it was boston it was philly it was milwaukee somebody that would be different but he's lost to the same guy the last three years i don't care what coach you bring there even if it's jerry stackhouse who i think has a really good shot of getting this job at the end of the day if you don't alter your personnel to some degree it's going to be the same result because these guys whenever they're going against lebron and lebron only they fold like cheap tents and i don't think that's on casey but he'll he'll get another job soon if a team is smart which i think they are because he's damn show not going to be unemployed long.

"You know very well respected coach and jerry stackhouse organization there was already you know having covered lebron in the playoffs i guess this team the last couple of years i i've gotten a sense for how well respected jerry stackhouse isn't that organization i think that could be one first step the trying to get this thing going but you know a deep bench is a great idea and it helps you win games the regular season but it's a lot different playing up and down style with the bench bob during the regular season where every doesn't matter to then needing guys like pasco siaka home and daca pertile and fred stanley to be a huge part of what you do in the playoffs and the benches shrunk in the series obviously rose in front of the series and you're it'd be paying kyle lowry thirty three million dollars in twenty he's thirty three years old on social his game is is built to age that gracefully so they had a lot of stuff to figure out here but i think ultimately lebron everyone talks about all the guys who gets paid you know of teammates like that dovan timofey boss go they cashed it because they had run of success but what about the guys he gets fired jordan had a nice little run wizards coach then he ran into lebron and he was done frank vogel good run with pacers ran into lebron done that could be the same fate between casey and that's just timing the running up against one of the greatest players of all time maybe greatest and you know those type of players can make life difficult for everyone else around them the morning rose on espn radio we're talking today mcmenamin espn cavaliers reporter so one thing that i was struck by in that game winning shot was i can think of very few times where i've seen lebron james shoot a floater fading to the left off the glass you someone who covered them all season in for several seasons now is that a shot at lebron james has taken in the past and is good at or is it just like lebron do whatever you want to just kind of blacks out and can't miss in certain situations.
