"So Jerry Ryan store spoke to Bob Nightengale. Use a today they have a great relationship. And he talked very openly about not only The losses that the Bulls the White Sox in the industry are going through during this pandemic. But the games of 2122 21 really worry the chairman. Welcome to Kappa Company on ESPN 1000 with Danny's Letterman and J. R. Strauss. David Caplan. Chris Black will be on the mid day show with Carm. And Reading this article in the Sun Times as well, but it's a U S. A today piece. Jerry's very concerned that fans may not come back next season. Unless we have a vaccine. Now there's been some real positive developments the last couple of days from two different drug companies. On the early success in test groups on a vaccine, but I'm curious. Even with a vaccine. Are you cool going to a game? Are you all in yet? I'm going to go. Are you going to go? There were people 20,000. We'll get into it a little later at Bristol yesterday for the All Star race in NASCAR, But are you cool with going To a sporting event with a vaccine, let alone without last night. Obviously at Bristol at the All Star race, they're going 20,000 people and their socially distance in a huge stadium. Or huge track. There's no vaccine. So I'm curious. Do most owners to all owners feel like Jerry Reinsdorf does that? Yeah, we're going to gut it through and we're going to figure this out right now that Jerry has been one of those amazing owners who has paid every employee He has tried to do the right thing, and that's why people love working for him. You talk to people that have worked for Jerry Reinsdorf, and they will all tell you the best. Phenomenal and he's a great businessman. He's got seven championships. He's built to stadiums and he has taken care of his people. He is Immensely loyal and that frustrated Bulls fans. I understand it, but Jerry is a boiled, loyal person. But when he says That the losses he's going to deal with in baseball are in the nine figures. Is that any different than what Tom Ricketts said when he said, We're going to have biblical losses. Now there's more revenue on the cub side, so their losses may be bigger, but nine figure losses nobody can handle. And Jerry said he's very concerned that fans will not go next season. If there's no vaccine, so, Danny Would you go next season with a vaccine? Well, you can't be nervous. No, I'm love people up there. They're going. I'm not taking the vaccine. Listen, and those people aren't going to live regular lives. Here's the situation Cove. It's not going away. It's just not Unfortunately for us, we're going to have to move past this. Now we have the greatest doctors in the world. There was some good news this week. There's a vaccine hopefully on the horizon once it makes through the protocols. Hopefully we'll get a green light for people to take it. Then it's a question of when will it get to the masses? How quickly will we all be able to get it? But at some point, hopefully The vaccine is going to become commonplace. Like you know, there's a chicken pox vaccine now the polio vaccine, There's so many vaccines we get when we're born the Corona virus, The Kobe 19 vaccine will just become another one. You get in your life and you move forward. So once there's a vaccine once I get it once the doctors greenlighted that it's safe and effective, Of course, I'm going to go back to sporting events. Of course, I'm going to go back to concerts. Of course I'm going to go back to living life the way that I once did. I can't live like this forever. I listen. It's July. What? 16th or 17th? I've already had enough of it. We've been doing this since March 15th. I can't imagine another year of this. Yeah, it would be insane. Now you have young kids, my kids. They're all out of the house. My kids, or 26 to 30 I've talked to many different people that I come in contact with over the last month that have said Wait a minute. If we don't reopen the schools, my wife and I have another year of online learning. That there is Morson Port and Maura Appreciation for teachers. And there ever has been. There always should have been, But people like Yeah, whatever their teachers that summer, I've heard it all. I've got relatives that are teachers, and they're like Actually, it's more than just showing up at 7 30 leaving at three and haven't summers up. They're grading papers at night. They're working with students and Now, everyone who has Theo, he learnt their kids are finding out. It's not that easy. So I mean where we headed. If we've got another year of this, I'm really of the belief and again it's a leap of faith. I get it. I don't know where Danny and J R on it. But I'm off the belief that by December 30 1st we'll have a vaccine. The whole world is working on this. The whole world like each charity has people that that charity means something too. I have a special needs, son, So his affliction means more to me that it might be someone else. The whole world is dealing with this global pandemic. And so every smart person in the world every drug company is racing to try and figure this all out. So I understand Jerry and others going. Wow, 2021. We might not have fans. I'm just going to hold out hope that by the end of the year we do indeed. Have a vaccine and that people will come back. I thought people going to Bristol last night was interesting. I wouldn't have been one of them. Would you have gone If you were a NASCAR fan? Forget whether you are our Danny. Would you have gone? No, absolutely not. Listen, I I saw the pictures. It looks like everybody was doing a nice job, social distancing. I'm just not there yet. I am fearful of this Corona virus. I try my hardest to keep myself and my family is safe is possible and without a vaccine. I'm not putting myself in harm's way. You go to this. Somebody accidentally sneezes on you. You go into the bathroom and you touch something that somebody accidentally coughed up. There's just too many unknown variables that I wouldn't put myself in that position. I respect and appreciate the people that did good for them. Just if we want to flatten the curve. We've all got to take this really, really seriously and work together. And I don't know if a 20,000 group 20,000 person group gathering right now is the smartest idea. We want to get back to normalcy. We're all craving it immensely. Just not sure it's the best idea. And for me, it would not happen. What if your phone ring today, Daddy? Your cell rang. Because he has interacted with you in your life before you got a message. They said Hi. We're calling on behalf of Edward Vetter and he would like you to be one off. 6000 people at this show he's going to do at picked the stadium that holds 50,000 people were going to socially distance. Um we would like you to be in the front row. You going? No shop. No shot. Thanks for the ride, Lady. Your favorite thing in the world other than your family Pretty. I appreciate the invite Eddie. I'm sure it's going to be a great show. Hopefully, I'll be able to see it if it goes viral online. I just can't do it. I can't put myself and I can't put my family or listen cap. You know, I tried to do everything I possibly can to be healthy. We watch everything we eat. We exercise we do our best. Why would I then turn around and put myself in harm's way? Yeah, I get it. I completely get it. And that's why I'm a very positive person every day truly choose to believe. With the entire world working on this not American thing. It's not a European, It's everyone. Working on coming up with a Koven 19 vaccine that works. I truly believe we'll have one. By the end of the year. Maybe I'll be wrong. I hope I'm not. Maybe I will be. But so Jerry Reinsdorf talks to USA Today? And he said..

"I need you to sign Luke. So when the year started, I wasn't signed for the Bulls and tips decided that he's going to make them know how important I am for the team. And ran everything through me. And this is why I love tips till today, you know, run everything through me and I was averaging 20 at the time when I got traded. When the when the fun office saw that I was averaging 20 obviously, Now everyone wanted to pay me more money, eh? So they decided that it was better to trade me before. You know, they used me for nothing. So I was called into the office and I was given two days to take 30 million for three years or you know, or else. I decided to go with or else So that was Lou all dang, and there's a couple of things that cut that really bother me. And one of them is A love that all the players had for Tibbs, and then apparently, he couldn't get along with Garin Paxson, and then they got rid of him. The best. This team the Bulls have been over the last 2015 20 years is when Tom Thibodeau is their head coach. And You heard right there. How? But he says he because I still loved him. Because Tim says, Listen, you gotta side, Lou All they didn't. He said, Listen, we're going to run everything through you. So they know how important you are to this team. And it didn't help. They still weren't going to give him more money. And so He does mention Gar Forman, but see the reason I'm not sure he's not talking about John Paxson breaking up the team. In that first because it's unclear There was no direct follow up when you know and you know so like that could have alleviated the situation. But but and I'm like, and he goes out of his way in some ways to identify where he says guard Foreman. Who was the GM, who I was negotiating won so in some ways because that common occurred after he had made the first statement. I do wonder if he's like it's I think it's reasonable to just wonder. Did he mean Gar Forman in the first cut? He mean John Paxson. Now, maybe In some ways, it's irrelevant because no matter how you look at how I'm no matter how you slice it, you know they were. They were one and the same whether Jackson was relying on our foreman to do more to making pacts and shows Gar Forman in that in that regard, rose. Thus, the gar packs Exactly, but but like I like I like a lot of people. I think I heard a lot of people on the station just jumped to the conclusion that he was crushing Gar Forman in that first sound bite, But I think it's It's not completely clear that its guard that he's talking about it could be. Paxton is all I'm saying, right? You know, it was one of many mistakes the front office has made and I think you think too you make if he is talking about Gar Forman, a cz the quote guy who traded me and ruin the team, right? Broke up the team. Then you know what pecs and the servant deserves Criticism from the wall, too. Because he allowed it's allowed guard that you know, and we know that it wasn't all Gar Forman. You know, ruling ruling with an iron fist here packs and certainly had to sign off on whatever guard wanted to do well, and we also don't know if Guardo was told Listen By higher ups like Jerry Ryan Star said, Listen, here's where you can pay them. You can't pay them or you have to ask them to take a hometown discount. We don't know that either. Can't go into the luxury tax right? We don't know that either. 3123323776 The most frustrating part is Top devotion has still been here. Maybe even after all these years, And now we now we have Jim Boylan, which I know just wherever Sylvia's right now is a suit. As I said, Now, the bulls have Jim Boylan. Sylvie right out, got a little twinge. He's probably looking for more steroids right now. ESPN 1000 Chicago's home for sports. You know,.

"D I C and the white sacks have a new broadcaster Sylvie. Yeah, they have they have named Andy Maze are big shoes to fill is, he pointed out In the press release today. Ed Farmer, of course, passed away a couple of months ago. And obviously that's a sad day. A Chicago guy someone who loved his white Saxon has been doing the White Sox and the radio for many, many years and and now another Chicago kid gets to broadcast. Of the White Sox and the maser who used to be the voice of the San Diego Padres. Hey, started out in the booth on the north side, but this is one of the great guys in the city. One of my good friends. And he deserves this. This is many years here in the making, and I think Sox fans are gonna love him. He's obviously been doing some Priam postgame stuff in a lot of work around the white sacks, but he loves his baseball. And yes, there was a one time I don't know. This is what you let me set the table Because whenever you say any maze there now this always tickled my fancy because I recall like the first time you ever told this story when I was working here on air was probably 15 16 years ago And you mentioned that you went way back with any maser and I was I was always amused. By what you consider doing with him because you guys became fast friends on the road, But we went way back right way back to the Viper Room in the gentleman's clubs back in the day. Look, I'm not endorsing this. I'm not hating it. I'm just telling you what life used to be like. For a guy who didn't get married till he was like 40. That's B and they still isn't married and back in the day when I was younger, and we would both be covering bears games for different outfits at the time. That the usual we would fly in the day before the game on a Saturday like afternoon, then a lot of us a lot with writers. We go out for a good dinner that night on a Saturday night, whatever city we were in And then we would go to like one of the better gentlemen's clubs that night. Then we wake up to the board and cover bears lost the next morning. One of the better gentleman club mentality sample was always the standard like, believe it or not back in the day in Tampa, invented the six foot rule, by the way. I like it down where everyone knows Roarke over. It was a yes, the six foot rule Everyone knows now because a cove where you've got to be six feet away from somebody. But you know, back in the nineties in the mid nineties. It was a different day in age where let's just say there was it was more of a contact sport. And in Tampa then, and that's why Tampa was always the best and then Tampa then enacted a rule where they made a law. They passed a law where you could not be closer than six feet two. The entertainer. So then they didn't get it. They weren't just popular anymore. So so to get to the story, and this is not something I'm sure Jerry Ryan wants to hear the day he's naming Nor does and he probably wanted out their asses years ago. Hey, listen, it was a good idea. Yes, we were going to write a book and we've had I've had many good ideas back in the day waddling me too. Of where we say Hey, let's do this. Let's make money in this and then it's always in like an idea over drinks, and we never execute it. But I always thought this was a good idea when people wrote books, and then we could have we could have evolved into a website. And it was called S O s. We wanted to write a book called S O s stadiums or strip clubs. A man's help Guide to life on the road. S O s is the isn't that the sign of help? Yeah, You're right. So you're on the road. You put out the SOS distress signal. You need help to a stadium or a strip club, and it would be a guide to look What is it costs for this seat? What is a cost for the vipir? Um, what are the pluses and minuses of everything? What? How long are the songs that this particular exactly? Nowhere like club. You're right about that. The biggest rip off is you go on the road and they would play the song. It would be a great gentleman's club anthem. They would cut it in half. And we all know that Hey, 20 bucks per song, but they're going minute and 1/2 of the song. I always loved the idea. I think it was a missed opportunity. You guys could have been the Rick Steves of gentlemen's clubs, and we were ringing the food. Sometimes you could get a good buffet dinner at a gentlemen's club, or you could have like a well known like I always used to say when I went to Sox games they used to have like on ly one. Vending area where they would sell like this unbelievable steak sandwich from NM provisions, and it was down the right field line back in the day like I would alert fans to like all these different stadiums and who, where to go, Who, where the like. The cheapest beer would be where the best value descent would be. And Yeah, it was just something that we never ended up writing. Eso welcome Andy Maser to the play by play. Boyle comes to the vote for the white sacks. Adam Silver has said that the league is on track to play, but virus spread may halt action. Appearing on time 100 talks, the N B a commissioner said he remains pretty confident about the NBA's plan to safely resume play, but admits that the spread in the N B a community could spring the league.

"But that's sort of where it ends like. It's just like it's not as compelling as I would like it to be everything with the Borg. I found really really interesting. Not only because of how tied that was to sort of sort of the larger things around synthetics but also the what it means for Picard and. I think that that was something that got. Got Lost in the shuffle again as well from all of that so I was really interested in that and I'm curious to see well. I'm curious to hear how all that gets played out if Jerry Ryan like recurs of it more next season because they're gonNA do ten more episodes at least ten more episodes so yeah as soon as I heard that she was back for this at least in some capacity is like oh great. There's going to have to be boxed up and what a wonderful opportunity. Those characters have never been onscreen together. They have such a unique thing. Like point. There's so many people in the world of like also yeah just like all of Star Trek who can relate on that level And neither character is someone who would just open up a talk about that stuff so there must be an interesting incident that compels those two characters together Ohio fascinating could this be and they're obviously very talented performer. So they if you give them material they can deliver it and then that didn't happen and it was like no we're going to it about data. I mean and date is great in. Brisbane is great. And don't get me wrong but like that's felt like that story was already done and then they were like we're going to do again do it again. 'cause WE CAN WHY NOT The characters I enjoyed Are the two. I forget their names at the vineyard. I'm hoping backlash man. I hope they're back to number one. We back yeah. They're going to just. They're going to yellow card so much it's GonNa be Great. He needs it clearly man. We'll any final thoughts on star Trek Cards season one or or. Are We wrap we we call on it? We're calling it because The good fight starts in two weeks. So I'M NOT GONNA cancel my. Cbs All access but they only they only got eight episodes finished kate. There's two episodes that they didn't get to finish because of the pandemic. Yeah well we'll see what happens. Knowing like the kings that could be completely standalone or that could be a really really frustrating cliffhanger. "To US Brasi. Gmc podcast network. I'm your host Alex. Today we're GonNa talk more about Star Trek Picard. We're going to go ahead and break down episode five of this first season and we're also going to talk about the first few chapters of tragic sense of life. The book that Captain Rio is reading on philosophy. So I have what is going on in episode five episode five. Takes a little bit of a divergence from where we've been going so far now I say that even though we've already diverged wants to go on. Picard side quest now Rossi kind of gets one so in this episode. They're going to visit the planet free cloud and it means something different for each member of the crew of the ship. So Jerry Ryan who played seven of nine or on Ika in Star Trek. Voyager is in this episode and I was super stoked to finally get to see seven. She's changed a lot over the years but you can definitely still tell that she is seven of nine under there and she is trying to seek out her humanity so we discover that on. Occah is out here on her own and the last episode before this episode. Four when she saved them from a firefight and then beamed aboard their ship so now. Picard is going out and trying to pursue this quest to right wrongs in his life and Ana Kaz essentially on her own quest. And they've just converged at this point so right now. Seven is Kinda going hardcore. She is a member of Vigilante Group. Called the Finley's rangers and is out there. Rescuing folks who are in need so she has a lot going on since voyager came back from the Delta quadrant and we have a lot of blanks that aren't filled in for seven right here but actually really liked that it has kind of a Han Solo field to it and I like that. It's mysterious where she has been an what she's been up to. It leaves some room for growth. And you know this show loves some good flashbacks. So hopefully we'll see more of onok in the future and perhaps get some flashbacks at some point to what she was doing in the past couple decades. Exciting places we have yet to go you guys but it seems to be that there's a lot going on and you're not exactly sure of her motivations per se but you don't really need them. I Love Jerry Ryan's acting and she has really developed seven on a personal level in the gap between these two shows occurring. It feels very true to seven of nine but also being a different stage in her development so a lot of times with some of my friends we refer to ourselves as being like three. Alex is ago. I would have reacted this way I would have been like this and three rogers ago et Cetera so we can use that to refer to these different stages of our lives and communicate that with our friends and it makes me feel like there are maybe a couple of different sevens between the seven we see now and the seven that we last saw in Star Trek prior to star Trek Picard. Coming out. And I think that that's really fascinating. The way that she has developed it as though it is a cascade or some type of ripple effect at this point and it's still coming across as that same character Gerry Ryan's doing a fantastic job in that way and I really love how world-weary that seven is coming across but also like the deep darkness that she is drawing upon to go out there and do all this as she is trying to figure out whether she still has these parts of humanity within herself because she was aboard for so long. So I really love this episode for a lot of reasons. It's another Jonathan frakes directed episode. And we also get Jerry Ryan here. So we're getting a really great mix of our old favorite star. Trek heroes both on and off the screen and we are in a new planet now called free cloud it looks to be a pleasure planet and is pretty hard core. And it's like rice to the Max. It reminds me a bit of altered carbon in the way that Takeshi is. I bartered with all of those different ads. While he's walking around the city proper after they I spent him up following his sentence and when they do that and he gets bombarded with all of these in he can't not see them and they're just a ton of neon lights that is really what the pop up ads in. Star Trek Picard. Reminding me of so. I like how that has like a seeming continuity with what other types of folks who earned visiting the sci-fi futures that are coming to US particularly these dystopia type of futures and that they definitely still have advertisements up in your face everywhere. That is an amazing a commonality between these and I really loved that that is just that's in the Mandala of carbon and star Trek Picard. You guys is that any type of future is going to result in there being ads. Everywhere capitalist socialist it doesn't matter space communism. There's GonNa be ads everywhere so that was very easy for me and the pop up ads on this planet. Though on free cloud they will actually start coming up to you even before you land. And it's also a holographic format for it. So in that way I also enjoy seeing kind of how the hollow DHEC has evolved over the years to this episode has layers you guys so we used to use the holiday and T. and G. for going and doing interesting adventures with Sherlock Holmes and such doing some war types of acting. You can also go in there and practice fighting or play sports. It was used for recreation and amusement. And then you have them trying to actually learn things from Davinci in everything in sight of Voyager and then in d. s. nine we all know what the holiday is mostly used for India and it just goes really fire and the capitalist direction for that and overall it just has developed over. The years is what I'm really getting at to the point that now we're like. Oh Yeah we would just be using this for the most mundane things like just advertisements. And I think that that's also a really fun. Reflection of where star trek was back then and where we're at with it now where now it's just kind of holographic everything like Tony Stark. And also you have the mundanity of it because at this point everything with the Internet is no longer is exciting as it was in the late eighties and early nineties when the card and Voyager and everything was on the air. It's not like just an exciting new frontier. It's now also the bummer. Parts of life are also being upgraded technologically and their presentation. So I think that that's really fun to look at because it is mirroring. Its Art. Mirroring Life at this point and we see some reflections of where we are now and also extensions of where that might be in the future so I love seeing that free cloud looks pretty skeeve. Before Risa and other types of pleasure planets were laid out to be Paradise. Is like very chill? Not a lot of weird stuff is going to go on unless cards trying to go on vacation. He meets a hot check. And she lures him in with promises of archaeology and just ensnares him in a terrible plot so unless that happens like most of the time you know the pleasure planets look like paradise but this one looks more altered carbon or more blade runner than the other types of pleasure planets. We've seen in the Star Trek Universe for the most part it Has Games as costumes. It has all kinds of booze then is what this pleasure planet is about. So it's interesting to see how the concept of these pleasure planets have changed too. It's no longer like a relaxing vacation. Away it is just sheer hedonism and bright colors and everything being loud and in your face instead of being like a Tropical Beach Paradise so you can take what you will from that but I just like to think about how this has changed over the decades and a lot of the new visuals that we're getting are really indicative of that and I think there are a lot of fun particularly since Jonathan frakes was involved in these shows in the eighties as well as in the now and you can really see how he sees it in multiple aspects as an actor and as a director from both sets of decades. So I think it's fascinating and I really love seeing how that's developed over time. We're going to go in a quick break and when we come back we're going to discuss some more about star trek the card episode five. What to find out what movies to go see and check out the GS. "On the Star Trek cruiser. Just hanging out having drinks together. And I'm like I guess this is. Everything's fine that makes me really happy. Because they're really Mauger should never take it out on. Jerry was pretty much paramount that she had the issue with and like I said Nah Villain Izing and completely understand. Everyone's actions in this. Yeah which is good because I want these two amazing star trek characters to get along like in real life and I'm glad they're doing now and and maybe one day have maybe another onscreen bringing admiral. Janeway and seven of nine. Who's now there's ranger in the neutral zone. Maybe boogaard. We'll do it. I doubt it but stranger things have happened in the Star Trek Universe. And don't get me wrong. There wasn't I didn't tire animosity all the time. Now when I found this out I thought it was hilarious. And it's definitely something you can get away with now. Hashtag metoo movement because in the early days of voyager even in the later seasons Mike One Braga got brought him is that they were filming it like three or four in the morning and they were going on these like twelve fourteen hour days and it was exhausting so Mauger describes it like that some of these male characters on the show Mike Spit spit balls out her and would throw things at her like throw combat ges at her when she was doing scenes. And there's one memorable thing she was describing that she was having this debate with a k. Zahn and somebody threw a spitball at her and she was like what is that and so there was definitely like this fun like joking atmosphere on the set some time so it wasn't like it was all work all the time and and what. I said about mutual thing is that sometimes they would Raynham Lee be naked. The guy members onset to mess with mulgrew during seen so. You can't do that now but it is not definitely wasn't from a place of animosity that the men were at. Mauger or anything like that. No it was. Actually she said Multiple Times in interviews and they've also said Multiple Times that they love each other and it was great and joking and and it was just a different time. You can't do now but they they did it before before we wrap up this episode cover two things. The first being I mentioned before Robert Belgium and the other feud issue I found with voyager in researching was that Beltran really. The Guy who plays a coattail was really upset at the writers and habitually like denounce the rioters criticized riders while on the show he even advocated for them to kill off multiple times. Because like I said before earlier in the episode you had this Great Story Line and Character Development Kotane his ancestors and and why has a face tattoo in and it was awesome news? Cool to see that native American style in the twenty third and twenty fourth century however when they shut him off and he went to basically nothing. He's even said in a in an interview that they took everything from him. Once they took Ceska away the he had no relationships on the show. He had Jane Way but again they weren't focusing on him. He didn't have any special relationship with two of our neil eggs or anybody. He was kind of alone by himself and he didn't like that he felt like uses wasting his time. He'd come in for twenty minutes saline or two and be done for the day now I that would be annoying to me so I get why he's upset and he's a bitch even said that it's his yeah he. He was unhappy and wanted to leave. And I I don't know if the writers were throwing him a bone in season seven. Avoid your by making him in making Dakota A and seven kind of have this romance plot line. I Dunno Jerry Ryan even came out and said she was annoyed by it because it seemed rush and just kind of out of the blue which it did. So I'm Kinda curious why they did that but maybe they were throwing him a bone. Maybe they didn't want him to quit like I said they had great storylines took it back. And so there's completely understand. There's a reason to be upset and I mean and keep in perspective like Jisr recently. Robber Belgium has kind of fallen off the map. A little bit. He said that starfleet is nothing but fascist and it's all just garbage in his pure fascist propaganda which. I'm like Bro. Have you seen Star Trek? It's the exact opposite of fascism. So I really don't know what's happening again. Two sides ever story so we'll see but That's the only other big feud and drama could find on the voyager set was just this very outspoken. Beltran against the writers and against the staff which completely understand why he would have that attitude. Don't blame him at all. I mean he was even so harsh to say that while on the show that seven diminished. Everyone else that she brought everyone else down kind of tie this back to the Janeway. Seven feud he said that if someone treated me the same way that Kate is treating Jerry and they were man. I'd punch him in the face. So again is just me year? There's definitely was animosity on sat and I thought that was a funny quote. Close like okay. Well lips very strong feelings there but shows what he thought between the feud between the two girls. Now that is all of the big time funes and behind the set drama on Voyager. I'm sure there was other spats and onset but these were the big ones and this is all I wanted to carry and I wanted to kind of try to keep the episode around thirty to forty minutes again so I didn't want to push again to give you every single occurrence or rumored occurrence so You got the gist of it. You got the background you got Y. What kind of happened? And now that everyone's kind of patch things up. Excluding bill training his fascist comments about star trek so that is voyager.

"First off. Jonathan bring strikes it yes number one himself drexel. And he's done a great job directing other star trek movies and episodes in enterprise and I think he's done voyager and a couple of other maybe even deep space nine. I'm not for sure so. Basically Synopsis Of this episode is that they've tracked Bruce Battles to a place called free cloud and they need to get him back and as they learn. He's actually captured by that give. This drug dealer goes by J and this is when we first see seven of nine. Now I for one was super excited. When they announced that Jerry Ryan would be returning seven simply because she hasn't been the best character arcs and all star Trek and know a lot of people out there haven't seen voyager but I would highly highly highly recommend watching voyager. Maybe skip the first two or three seasons. Because it's just yeah it's not the best track it definitely does build. A lot of good. Character ARCS and story. Lines that eventually come to fruition. In later seasons avoid you're so check out voyager if you want to know more about seven of nine and we may even do deep dabbled seven to nine so seven is a freedom fighter for this group called the friendliness rangers. So personally I really enjoyed seeing seven again. I mean Jerry Ryan. Hit it out of the ballpark. I thought it was amazing. And even with the very first scene where we see poor Egypt get taken out which really sad because I loved that they brought him in. I wish we could see more of him but I mean it does give them a very good opportunity to show sevens emotional range because as in voyager she struggled with her emotions she struggled with processing humanity so to see her call each of her kin. Her it was like a son newer and then cry and grieve over him. It's great without seeing a lot showing how far she's come if you've known seven's character but also motivate her actions as we see later on with. Jay in the episode. Now I know a lot of people out there upset with this episode. They say it's boring a waste of time. It's backstory. It doesn't really move the plot forward. It's confusing it's just trying to be zig zag for no reason at all and I just have to completely completely completely disagree those people. I think it's an amazing episode. I think it's great. I think it definitely shows a great back story which is nice in centric character series like card because it allows the limelight to be off of him and show other sides of him which which. We saw his goofy side of his bad acting. And that Sir. Patrick tried to pass off so I I personally love that. The silliness of it. We haven't really seen since T and G so for me. I I enjoy the episode. I think is great is probably my favorite episode so far card because there are so many yeah moments in it and we'll cover those coming up going into free cloud this little tidbit and Easter Egg. I don't know if you saw Rio beams. Now there's actually in the background there's quark's bar sign which I absolutely freaked out over. Because he's my favorite star track serious so to see the quirk actually ended up franchising. His Bar I just love that so it was. It was a cool little tip the cap to the hardcore checkers out there and I loved. The writers are paying that two people that like for example. My wife would have never paid attention to you but for me just made the episode even better even Rio mentioned them as beams down. He's like corker for Rangan Har- in the bar so Oh that's great. So there's two knots quirk so far in this episode which I really enjoy. It was really cool so as they go into this bar. They realize that Jay has bruce. Maddox and if you're wondering no is not the same guy that played Bruce Matic's in the to t and J episode arms. Sorry the one team g episode which was measure of a man which is probably the best star trek episodes of all time. I think it's in season two and then also data's Day mentioned a lot but he's not actually seen but is not actually the same actor from the team g series so I actually look that up while I was watching because I was curious like do they bring this guy back. He's fully bearded and it's been like twenty some odd years so we really have. Oh no idea if it's him but it is not in case you're wondering so as a barter for matic's in like the tide turns and they they get some guns on Jay and they kind of go after her. I really love how Jay called seven on Ika because that's another kind of fill in the gap of what happened. When she returned to Earth did she go by ANA could she try to become more human? She tried to embrace your humanity instead of going by seven and so for me. I was I like that. Or maybe it was a show excite of intimacy which. I don't know how you want to read into that either way. It was a very well acted seen. I personally loved it and especially how they portrayed the like casino darker kind of Star Trek. I really like that and it made me feel a lot better than what they did. Like and contain a nights than in Star Wars. The last Jedi when is is kind of like lightly over Saturday and go into the dark aspect of it so through going back and forth and getting control of the guns and taking out the bad guys from Jay. They decide to go up into the ship and they rescue Madison. They get seven and seven is about to commit like revenge because she's mad because Jay so when they killed each seven wants to beam down to take j. out pretty much but I definitely love absolutely adored the quick conversation between Picard and seven because either the only two major trek characters that have been assimilated by the board and Tell the Tale and they've come back you ever needed vigilante.
