"W. you are Wednesday show when she got hi Jerry I am fired up for a Wednesday show riddle me this Batman Jerry recognizes the other Burt ward story now we did that on the pile because it is not fit for a row regular radio our Caesar's palace you've heard of them I have they've set the Astros win total at ninety seven games even though they have no matter Jerdon MP or general manager well then we don't even need managers are still there right so do we really need managers your thought you need may use always need somebody to organize things I'm a good organizer wise you have chaos in the clubhouse I'm baton furs no I want to bat first and third so we got to fill out the line up I'll fill out the line about go coach the Astros are gonna make the pitching changes yeah all right I will be your you could make like five million dollars a year right and I'd have more wins than some teams right because I have the Astros play yes you will do very well now it's kind of like yes I will no offense okay but Aaron Boone came here there was no way he was gonna win seventy five games right Yankee lineup now the few games that you've got to manage that could be pivotal in terms of your season are important but he was always gonna win eighty five games I would be such an old school manager Jerry my pictures would all pitched complete games they hate you I would have around here they hate you none of this so I think I'm a love a love here I would I would also have I got my best hitters three in for not going to go second no none of the second or lead off nine sentence around my eyes the at bats no I'm old school Gerry yeah I always like third because you're guaranteed to get up in the first writing and editing golly you always have somebody on base you bet fourth so disappointed like such a a let down right we we go one two three in the innings you guys suck right now I know you're a leadoff hitter who exactly right leg that's why about third okay I want to get that job is there any leading candidate sherry I know you what you watch yeah I got I got to work for a guy who Alex Cora he's been fired free and then the red Sox can hire AJ Hinch Boise that would be cool now I love and they they go Alex Cora and the red Sox have mutually agreed to part ways he got fired let me I'll tell you all right now on this date of January fifteenth fourteenth I think is the fifteenth Eddie was today's date is the fifteenth January fifteen twenty twenty if you ever hear that al dukes in WFA and have a mutually agreed to part ways I don't want to go anywhere you they're going to have to drag you out here yeah you have to do is I will be going we will not mutually agreed to part ways right there Kweli they'll be one story on Tuesday on Wednesday it'll be a complete opposite story here like why would why the journal fired me why did they say they have good he and out outscoring the red Sox have a mutually agreed to part ways maybe he wanted to leave maybe it's possible that this was an hour I don't I'm news Fauria this whole thing is such a bunch of nonsense which will get to I actually will these are good days like I like the fact that I can talk today well here's the thing Jerry old people love baseball an old people hate any sort of right but I've numbers not but ID numbers to back up by this old embers stupid and if the Mets fire Carlos Beltran shame on them a shame on you yeah stick to your plan right and let's go over and talk to the media say art I lied but what else now would you say you're coming up boomers out today South Florida South Florida all right that's kind of cool he was filming some sort of the the greatest Super Bowl commercials TV special absolutely Chuck China we ever go with him on that and then do the show from I don't know what to suggest that next year we could do it at a radio station in Miami yeah that would be cool or on the beach behind the site Gerry Davis sports network would love that yes we're on the beach you're the images they would have beautiful images Jerry Luke is a key clear cool Coley Luke key Klay Jerry announces retirement at the age of twenty eight is that a lot of injuries he's had a lot of concussions had a lot of everything yes I actually feel bad that he's got to retire but you know a couple years ago he was not gonna have a long career right what's so funny you're laughing and he's laughing and he tells me that Jackie the joke man's on hold which is our issues woke up to cal's broke up here that will move which you will he so this little key really for a minute show which was a thirty the quality joke so is he allowed to move into retirement communities now because he officially he's retired are you still to be fifty five what is your health can you begin public actually do they get this done through none of this is not a stupid question that when I agree totally stupid do they start pulling from their NFL pension or they have to wait till I retired I don't know the answer that my guess would be they've got a way to a certain age but I don't know I don't think can you pull from your pension though you have a budget for five K. right yeah and that he has we saw what I can take earlier you just get less well like I know for my pension as soon as I stop working I could start drawing from it but the sooner I do it much less you get right I see so perhaps he can it just wouldn't be what it would be at age sixteen but he did all right for himself Jerry with their pain I had the keys five but he's got to do some kind of how much a man actually he's got to do something yeah king would networks gonna call something cool so here's the thing about network players are baseball players gather their dumplings fish if they made a lot of money to me it's about staying busy right and being engaged having something to do well if you don't get a broadcasting job go coach like you can find a job especially if you got credentials of being a pro player I'd coach locally I like a high school to high school Lou colleagues your it was your high school had Gabby also yeah be pretty good so I said these guys will be fine I don't know if he's married probably is the wise final know all my gosh get out of the house good to be home every freaking day now I didn't realize he had so many concussions I heard us I heard CeeLo doing updates out "As you know history about to be made Marty Brennaman is about to enter the radio booth in his final year in the big chair and when the red season conclude sometime in two thousand nineteen that will be the end of a long lustrous career for the hall of Famer, and my good friend Marty Brennaman. He will also be the subject of a ninety minute documentary called how we look in. The Marty Brennaman story, Terry Luke Byron barking fish, entertainment, produced a number of films, including one from twenty ten forty nine forty nine hundred crowning and hit king and is doing this project as well at barking fish. Thank you for having me on phony. Yeah. No problem of all the people in the worldwide Marty Brennaman. I mean, there's so many better people you could do a documentary on besides him isn't the old and tired kind of worn out. Yesterday's news. Funny. I actually I wanted to get in the sports broadcasting, you know, since I was young and just growing up in Cincinnati. I always had two guys that I looked up doing one was Gary Burbank and others Marty Brennaman so to be able to tell these stories. You know, being a lifelong Cincinnati guy. It's just it's just a thrill for me. It is too. Because Mari story is it's pretty interesting. I don't tell them. I said that his tremendous ahead is already too big for his petite body. But nonetheless, mardi is not only a good all around good guy outspoken funny, but but also to extremely charitable guy. And I like the fact that all the proceeds from this are to benefit not only the reds community fund, but a charity near and dear to my heart as well. And that's the Dragonfly foundation. Yeah. We wanted to keep it is independent in private filmmaking. Maybe the normal investor route just that we had a little bit more control over having all the proceeds from whatever kind of distribution outlets, we secure with this to go to the Dragonfly. We love those people. And of course, the red community funds done such great. Thanks. So being able to to the charities that are really close to mardi hard. You know, we always say we're using our powers for good in that way. Yeah. Which is an awesome thing to which also brings up the the campaign. This isn't going to be extremely expensive to do. Typically, most people don't know about production costs which would include what. Yeah. So, you know, clearly other than, you know, getting a camera crew and going out there and interviewing all the people that we want to get travel and craft services all the production stuff like that. We also have to do, you know licensing talking about taxes and fees and any kind of extraneous stuff like that. And then of course, the post production process put together documentary, probably a good five to six months. So a lot of work to do. And we're trying to keep costs minimum. But. You know, there are hard costs are kind of out of control. And and of course, the materials, you know, it's extremely difficult to make money off documentaries because it's usually fairly narrow group to begin with. And of course, you know, outside of maybe reds country. The Marty Brennaman documentary may get some play. But let's face it. It's not like, you know, they're going to screen this in Chicago because they don't really like Marty Brennaman there in other cities as well. So now now it's condensed even more, and I happen to be a fan of the work that you've done, but also documentaries in general. But I get it because you're planning a much smaller screen. Yeah. We're that is always a consideration. Like, I said being a Homer here. I just want to find a way to help stories that impacted me. And of course. Right. But I hope that we're going to make this a little bit bigger. We're trying to secure interviews with people like VIN Scully. And maybe even go out and get somebody like Rob Lowe celebrity angle and stuff like that talk about growing up. You know, he grew up in Dayton watching the bigger machine, and you know, people like that maybe nNcholas shea maybe narrating we've talked a little bit about that. So we're always trying to make a little more interesting and entertaining than you know, maybe just your local fire we hope anyway. Right. Right. Well, what what's the format? How do you see the same plane out your head, Terry? Look more. Well, it's probably kind of similar to wait forty one thousand two came about. I I liked the subject kind of talking to the camera like this'll be uncle Marty. Telling us old stories from hitting the porting. You know, interviews with people like the cowboy, and you know, other guys that have even you. I'd love to have you on your side by side with them in and colleagues so that kind of format. Okay. So you're telling these embarrassing is it going to be like a roast because I love the roasts. Certainly fun. Know, I think you you saw the forty one ninety two and a lot of people were surprised how funny Pete was Marty. You know, here's an opportunity for people to get the knowing outside of the booth, and he's got a great, you know, that the human a lot of great stories tell I think if you look at the one two punch and Cincinnati sports as far as people who are just engaging charismatic and tell a great story top list is Pete Rose. There's no question about it. When he is in a room, even if you're one on one or in a group of a thousand people, he is captivating is, you know, Terry, look, my Republicans public speaking goes I'd say close second is Marty Brennaman. He has the ability to you know, wax poetic decency or be contrite. Be extremely funny sometimes off color, but it's always an engaging discussion and always engaging speech when Murray talks, and I think that's gonna that. That's your job is to take that in and get it to transpose on camera. Somehow, sometimes it's different though, is, you know, you know, speaking in public and in capturing the essence of that on films in entirely different thing. Yeah. I mean, I it's kind of funny that. Being on camera with these guys, especially the athletes that we had on forty one. I was just great at taking direction. And of course, Marty I mean, he's just a constant professional, and we we had him as a support interview for four twenty two, and he just you know, is able to run with it. And and and it's it's just a different subject. Sometimes when you get documentaries going, you're dealing with kind of unprofessional talent. And you're always trying to pull things out of them. These guys it's almost hard because you got to cut it down. And you know, there's just so wonderful with with sharing thing. So I'm really looking forward to you know, people getting to know all these great things that Marty. You know, maybe people don't know. No, also too. I think you are creating something is going to stand the test of time it'll be preserved for probably future. People are inspired to be broadcasters. Like, you when you were younger some kid may watch this or somebody may watch it in a later date. Let's face it in another twenty thirty years, mardi is going to be someone. We talk about posthumously as we all are, of course after a good long productive life. This is something that's gonna outlast all of us. Oh, that's that's probably the number one driving. Thanks for me. Fifty two years old. And I just think there's a whole generation or two behind me that really, you know, they're not really knowing a lot of that are Cincinnati heritage and traditions and things like that. I certainly would love, you know, Marty grandkids to be able to experience and their kids and and keep this going for a while. You know, I'm very proud of things that society has done, and I think this is a great way to give back in and in history with our fellow NATO probably a little easier to for you. Because you're a big baseball fan. You're big reds fan. Your big Marty Brennaman fan. It's not like you're getting somebody from outside who has to learn about it, you understand what the reds what the reds radio with Marty Brennaman all of those things mean to to people who live work and raise families in Cincinnati, Ohio. Yeah. I mean, that's that makes the job certainly easier. I mean, it's not, you know, going out, and covering, you know, documentary heroin addiction or something that's really a tough tough subject to deal with this is just such a. A fun thing growing up being a big red machine fan and all that. But still at the same time. There's a lot of people that are really true hardcore experts that we feel like I have a little bit of pressure become like the authority on Marty Brennaman. Now, you know and stuff that people are going to call me out on. So it's fascinating for me to do the research, and and really get into it, Jerry, Luke Myers here with barking, fish entertainment. He produces documentaries. You may remember forty one ninety two the crowning the hit king. He's involved in new project here in the final season of Marty Brennaman rolling the booth for forty six seasons. Fires last one producing how we look in the Marty Brennaman story similar format to the Pete Rose one. And the other part about this too is either actually crowdsourcing this thing as far as the funding goes, right? Yeah. We again wanted to I think it's a good way to get the fans involved directly filled in marketing, of course, if you get money this, you're probably gonna want to see the end. Product, of course. But also kind of going around the private investor thing helps us keep money to go directly to both the Dragonfly foundation and the risk. Yeah. That's all right. Well, let me get down to this because people are gone. All right. Well, we kind of know we need to raise money. It's on gofundme me if you can kick some money in obviously any of the proceeds benefit reds community fund and Dragonfly foundation. But it's a tremendous amount of money and. In addition to that, the the cause a hard costs of just shooting it in Cincinnati one thing, but you know, you're talking about going to or bringing people celebrities, and like, you know, Marty Brennaman so there's there's that cost as well. Do you plan on maybe going out to L A and going other places to to interview you mentioned VIN Scully, for example? Yeah. Absolutely. I mean, it's it might as well make this a fun. You know, working vacation if you will and going out there and trying to get as many of these guys that grew up in Cincinnati that are living out in LA in Scully is is really a good friend of Marty's and somebody that he. You know, really idolized, I guess and looked up to I wanna I wanna get Bob euchre bobbin in martier post buddies. And and and people like that. So it will hopefully be a bit more far reaching than just maybe the Cincinnati market in that way. Euchre will be hilarious. You get those two on camera together. Just Tim talking about mardi. That'll be that. Right. There would be the worst worth the price of admission. So you have a target date for release. Well, if everything goes, well, we're hoping to do it in late summer. We at barking premiers. So hopefully, we're going to be able to put something and have everybody come out. And and that will get a part of the charity. So anything raced through our the premier's that we have and and things like that. It's going to go back into the into the pool for that. That's pretty cool. That's really cool. You know, we talked about is you mentioned Terry look Meyer, some of the people like Bob euchre VIN Scully and others who are friends with Marty know, Marty Brennaman Pete Rose at imagine probably make an appearance in this tube as well. But you have a very difficult job of going through all the calls all of the great historic moments in baseball that Marty Brennaman called in a number of people noticed there. But to me, it's incredible that he replaced, Al Michaels. And at that time, no one really knew Al Michael L Michaels was not the L Michael's ES today, obviously. But Al Michaels was the reds broadcaster for a couple of years. Marty Brennaman comes in and what what seventy four and takes over for him. And the very first day. He's on the air is the night. The Hank Aaron hit his seven hundred fourteenth home run to tie, babe. Ruth's all time record. I mean, if that's your first day in the job, you know, you are destined for greatness. Oh, isn't that? Crazy. I mean, and then of course, the the next year the big red machine finally gets it altogether. And then when the world championships so right off the bat. I mean, he's just hitting the ground running three straight year, seventy four seventy five seventy six it's pretty good -absolutely. And and you're right. I mean, this is you know, we're going to go back before that, you know, with him, you know, in Virginia, and then calling basketball games, and and all his history, growing up and everything. So it's a it's a lot to tell what I was the same way. We got that down to two hours. Wow. We're hoping to you know, there's a lot of stuff there that that we really want to look into and then. How far back you're gonna go in your opinion. I mean, maybe I don't know if you've done this yet or not. But what is the earliest archived audio or video of Marty Brennaman? How far back and you go. Yeah. That's something that Mardian I are gonna go through there..
