"Going back to gather, got he would me or in the review, and like I say he wouldn't be made about it, but he just and I hope this This dvd the coverage because people basically watch wwe announcer stuck in the heart. Stuff was good, and there's been some great restaurants stuff, but There's a lot stuff I would show that guy if I ran ran into him and that's one of the things that I would showing just to. Watch that and not think that was interesting. How could you not get? The! Jump to wait I want to jump in for just a second. The Jerry lawler Terry Funk empty arena match segment the one thing I. Don't know W. put this on. The I can't imagine they wouldn't in the PG thirteen air, but you do want to find the uncensored version with La land, putting on a cigarette, and then and then starting everything I. It's Terry is just phenomenal and then You Jerry lawler wasn't all that happy with the angle what lasts, Russell told me many many years watching I got a chance to to stand, and and and listen to Lance Russell, talk about that angle, and watch it, and and go through it, and he said that lawler wasn't all that great a mood that day they weren't. They really weren't sure whether he was gonNA. Show up that it was a it was a terry funk, idea and Terry's Puncak idea and and the whole. Deal I heard Austin talking about this the other day on maybe Paul. Even when he did that interview that he thought was great industy. Where's the money. Is, it's a it's where. The M- money and It's memorable, but back then memories wouldn't bag growth. The thing that was so bizarre about that about that whole thing. Was it actually? Drew in Memphis twenty years later on one of those legends shows that they. Good, four or five thousand people for at the time was the lack of seven thousand people back in in The and you're exactly right about that. I will turn the tables. On you way as your question about the DVD, did they show the the the People. Can fashioned Stan Bro. No. Then, that certainly wouldn't fit in the PG thirteen era. Anybody can watch. The the original wreckage of that is going. Maybe has cost twice ever on television. Maybe just once and that deal. They still out on the thing, and he was up to stairs in the law student and he's Kinda. Get down the microphone. The camera table got. Messed up and and hey you. It made it seem like an absolute cheap that it was a real and big because he used profanity, he was out of character and I know there's been a million broad sense. Van Sometime Concession Day umbrellas, now or more like comedy, but that wasn't comedy at all so. I would suggest anything in just A. Youtube people concession stand Overall I'm I'm certainly encourage everybody to buy the Jerry lawler good to be the king. zd But I I don't think he should end with that after I think it's a good start of point a great starting point, but they have I also think that that you're missing out and back from the start his run is is absolutely tremendous and asked way to question. Edwards, or do you remember the questions? I had at the beginning. You said you were GONNA ask Spurs Yeah I you. Can you think of anybody who has been? In ready correct my phrasing, but who has made a steady paycheck in the wrestling and disturbing longer Jerry lawler and has been a fixture on television. As often with such small interruptions, also since the early seventies is there anybody who comes to mind that cat who's in that same category as Jerry with that longevity in significant roles either regionally or nationally? Because all our rose seventy one three now in the checkout. All. Business in his four as in one territory and I, know the players out dusty all that into great but I'm saying in one town. He had a run from nineteen seventy. Two almost every week or to nineteen, ninety seven and I'm actually is I. Don't know I no longer than. Anybody else I would like. answer who's lasted this long in both areas. I mean you think about you think about guys that stayed in the same place and really had that Verne, Gandhi but he beats out very Ghani by eight or nine years and and then made that I. Mean Yeah, it's It's really It's phenomenal I can't think of anybody and that's one of the things that makes Jerry Lawler, one of the all time greats and festival wrestling, I mean there's no I mean. You can go. I don't like him or didn't like his style I. Don't know why you would I really don't if you if you WANNA, see fighting and you WanNa see, and you WanNa see. Someone talked trash about either a in a way that you're you want to stand by the guy or you want to see him. Get his job broken. He's tremendous added, but no I can't and to be identified with. You know a town. And really be the hometime hometown guy I mean hell flair. WAS YOU KNOW MINNESOTA? And he was a dentist with Charlotte all those years, and then he's a falling out with Charlotte and I it's not the same. lawler still laws hours. It's Jerry Lawler Day and Memphis today I mean it's you know I can't. I try to think of trying to think about different areas in the country, and and you know mainstays, and all that I mean is important as as Bruno San. Martinos was in new in New York. It didn't last forty years. I, just on the other angle on the question, just in terms of earning a paycheck. In variety of roles, but as a wrestler and commentator on air, paycheck, or conventions and and Appearances indy wrestling. He's still the he. I mean just that span of time to. Be, hard to beat starting in the nineteen seventies, I'm not going to go back and talk about nineteen thirty through nineteen, sixty five I I'm not gonNA. Be Able to speak to that, but I mean in terms of. With Major League you know associated with major league wrestling. I mean that's how I would say WTI is the major league MEMPHIS was the major. Where he was. You know. I mean I mean how much can have going every Monday night to you know, see see good to see great wrestling where you know. The the major talent in the major town in the world circled in and out, and you had jerry. Lawler, and build on D. and Jimmy Hart I mean good grief and unbelievable. When did? You did you have? It was a blast. It was a blast. Let me ask you this the only person that that. Might Gravel with the pay. That long paycheck from a wrestling company. When did Vince start doing the announcing no w. w. w. w. f.. You know that I'm i. It's. You know what and that's great, and I think it's seventy. Four, seventy, five, which means Jerry Law would beat them out on it. Then absolutely snow Nobo- nobody. L. Sailed only thing, but the of. Probably maybe started like sixty nine, and he's still getting check. That's him. I just going to say. It's going to bring up to compare from wwe for off and on, but mostly Theon for many years now and before that. In the mix, and before that the wrestler, and then before that multiple territories, especially crocodile, and there's I mean he's somebody who comes to mind. Who still collecting a paycheck where go ahead was predictable matters. He's not featured.

"To say. I haven't gotten to the DVD yet because Honestly, I like I collect all that stuff and I I try to collect that Prime Tom and Jerry. TIME OF MEMPHIS television but I've seen you know. It took me years after you saw you saw when it happened you were. There Jerry, lawler and Bill Done D. that I lose leave town match, and this on tape is, and you're right that the show before the set up. This is your life, the two of them in the studio and then and then that match the I mean that match you talked about their great workers I mean it's a fist fight. It's a fight and it's exciting, and the story goes up and down and we used to that tremendous. Climax, who's GonNa win and It's very much. I mean to me the one reason to buy that that lawler DVD. The first reason to buy is because there's a build unday Jerry lawler match from that era on there. Which match you know way? Do you know what Matt Was it? The June six nineteen nineteen. June six, nine, hundred, eighty three. That's the first loser leaves town match. They also did a music video of with that aired on the. TV after that and the music video of just highlights but man. It's fantastic and what they did there. They had all the wrestlers hills of course on one side. Baby faces on on the other Jerry. Jarrett's sitting at the announce table. Any Marlin said the now, Speight. On that TV show. If you remember, they had no know we're not talking about the the DVD but we're talking about lawler's career. They had department wrestler. Send in, Freddie Miller the announcer George just sent in a interviews. They all the people when the Awa vardon guidance territory sentenced stuff that it made it big match, feel and it. was and it was. Unbelievable and like. I said it's my favorite match of all times. There is a on the second BLU ray disc. There's Jerry lawler against Ric flair from August. Fourth Nineteen eighty-two Is there anything you want to share or talk about regarding that match Randy and Bruce you can obviously chime in on the on the conversation to. Go into TV after that baby eighty. Three was probably second year into college and or eighty. Two I really don't know the inside story of what that fell apart. They were certainly bought him in. They were shooting a angle to bring back and have the lawler of flair match when. It didn't happen to probably of. Of during the. Days when they did the Co.. with that they had they brought him in and out a couple of matches. One Memphis in one in Lexington Lexington Kentucky at the referee. but You know that was a great deal the interview. With flair of was just fantastic, the confrontation verbally with. lawler was great because flair was trying to come across, and he didn't know who. Waller was and they did the the The match and then Then they flare crazy interview afterwards and. Vowed to get, and it was never followed up. But it was great, it was. So good about that about that that show long story was flair was great. It Kinda, cocky, knowing but Jerry lawler was so self assured it was like he knew he was better. He knew that he was going to outfox. This guy and embarrass them, and then get that title get that title shot, and the become the NWEA champion, and he was so good at that was. Too. I mean he flair was great, but he was real. He really had it on that Let me ask you this Randi with the NBA Champions, Harley Race Jack, BRISCO and and Rick Flair and you have to Count Nick Boxing Winkle. Who'd you believe that Jerry? lawler worked the best way and Curt Hennig obviously. A Shame when he finally. He finally got that world title that he'd been fighting for all those years who did Jerry Wall in your opinion worked worked. Best Way so when you when you saw on the card. Which one were you the most excited about? Well. And it's the difference. Between watching as a kid or watching, what's I was in the business and and but still i. Answer is I answer. That I think Wade will like my answer because. This Nick Wickham. Of I mean that's probably wrestled the most I would definitely. Say Nick because they had great matches, but he had a a heck of a heck of a run with with all of them Terry and of. Your to. Jerry Fuck and And Talk, was the world champion, and and Also Jack Brisco. As you said all the names had of back then you weren't. You weren't award champion unless you were just so top of the class. good and even. Twenty one the Awa. World title. Family believe me of eighty eight. Hand Kurt with had a heck of a match of for that world. Oh title I I think. It was fantastic Jackie Fargo. Sell out. Crowds so they're all good, but my favorite. Nick I stopped. Nick was the most classy video world. Champions great to. Work with. Just phenomenal I love it. There is a Jerry lawler Eddie Gilbert match from October First Nineteen eighty-four on. They're not a lot of time given Eddie Gilbert I understand why not a showcase match? I would say either here on the DVD, but a moment of of of thoughts on Gilbert Randy. He was I think it is recently the twentieth anniversary of his death. I think I saw that when I put up the twenty years ago. Ago Back Issues, but I could be wrong on that. I got to look that up, but nevertheless eddie kind of had his eye on being the successor to Jerry Lawler, but it's sort of like for Eddie. Wanting to be the successor to someone you looked up to who was the managing editor of a radio station as TV was taking off for a managing editor of of of a newspaper. When website the website or whatever it is? Kind of came in right at the end of where their position was actually going to be lucrative and available. Right Oh wait had several runs Eddie was kind of in and out of the territory several times, so the.

"Situation where law or quit the W W. A after they had terminated his wife Stacy. was that covered in dictate, or does it yet also pretty good? They didn't talk about why the initial firing took place, but yeah, they definitely went through the drama of Jerry, offering to quit expecting vince to say no, and then Vince not saying anything and Jerry actually quitting. Vince basically said. What's to know your the not avenue here were. The. Read about that, too, in lawler's even talk, Law that Vince and Laura had a great relationship, but in that situation because Vince. felt that he was whether he was or not but. Maybe had the wrong information that he terminated a stacey and he was. He was not going to To let anybody including Jerry lawler who he respected his talent. You know change his mind once all quit. That was that was it and the way it affected me at that point. Of quickness history at power, pro wrestling roller, and I had a little. Following out no need to get on into. To that that Hornets Nest, but at that point with the Memphis Championship. Wrestling and roller wasn't happy there all we're not made back up. so we did the. We work together with Memphis Championship, wrestling and Terry of golden but. The situation, I was put in a big spot during that situation after waller. Walked out then. The. WWe I got the word from Bruce PRICHARD, said There was a big thing and I really don't get it, but there was big hate there and so. They said that waller. Could not be on any show. I don't know if they thought it was going through a lawsuit situation, or whatever could not be on any show with Debbie. Re Dallas, so I had the choice to keep my WWE deal and I think at the time of. Bad memory on some things, but it was good money. It was good revenue. News the difference than. Making good money and has getting. By but I had the choice of going with with lawler. Keeping, lawler and completely starting over on a crew and going with The, WWe developmental deal and after consulting with the TV station lawler. Tony's said get your money, he. He, didn't he walked? He had no problem with making that decision. To go with the W. W. E., but I wanNA mess. Didn't. DidN'T WANNA go through the book, the break-up ball or again the TV station was. One lawler on the TV. So that was a big? Turmoil off. For me. had a long talk with JR IN JR or when I've assuring that I wouldn't putting in any segment with any other guys Jr. Okay, that sounds fair. Just make sure you don't do that. Don't put him. Don't have him work with any of our guys and so hey. Green of the deal I called Waller I wrote it. This is like on a Friday. Last met thing I rewrote the TV had more on it at the W. W people on it. Everything was good, then a a few our talk to lawler he. was. Happy and. Then Prichard them call me and. He said that he had talked to vents. Jr never called me and talked to. And and that's did not think that would work, so we went back to having to scrammed crew up. That was hard probably eight or nine o'clock on a Friday night TV the next morning at eleven. so that was just a hard situ ovation that nothing good came out of at all. I was curious how they covered it. Yeah yeah, no, it's definitely covered I mean it was a significant part? It was sort of. Portrayed as you know. They got into stay Jerry stood up to his for his wife, but also. Was Willing to go back after after a bit of time went by I did to a torch talk with Jerry lawler. I believe right after that. He got right after he his his resignation was accepted, and he went into details on why he made that decision. "Out on that one out. You got that on one. Because I can't do that again. Yeah so he knew he'd been a jackass. Oh yeah he knew he knew it and he gave me. He gave me this nice north face jacket and he gave me a bunch of gifts and stuff like that. And you know what I swear to God. I just a few weeks ago. I haven't heard from Jim Carrey in years a few weeks ago I get a call from his secretary. Jim has something he wants to give. You WanNa get your mailing address. I think what and so I give him my mailing address give my mailing address and I said what isn't she. Oh I can't tell you it's GonNa be a surprise surprises. Yeah exactly so anyway. A couple of days later I get this box and not very big box in the mail and I opened it up. There's this letter Handwritten note from Jim Carey and it's and it was. It was weird in the sense that apparently apparently somebody gave Jim Carey the costume that I wore the wrestling costume that I wore in the movie man on the moon and apparently he thought it was for me. I don't know I'd never saw them. I wanted to costume. I never saw it after the making of the movie but in this letter it says dear Jerry. The gift of the costume that you wore in men on the moon is possibly one of the greatest gifts. I've ever received working with you in. That movie was both an Odyssey and was shining moment. Something I don't know like really putting me over right and he said He said I know that you have dabbled in music and cut your own albums. He said I just wanted to give you something from my record album collection. And I hope you enjoy and the and the and the next time you're in La said. I have a sweet at the staple center. Give me a call. I'd love to have you as my guest and so anyway. That's the letter and then the in the box were about eight record. Albums PRISTINE condition meant condition record albums all by wrestlers. All like there was you know the Hulk Hogan WWe album album by sweet daddy seekie album by Antonio Rocco all of these different wrestlers over the years. I mean some of them went back to the sixties and everything all of these records that have been cut by wrestlers that somehow he had in his record collection and he sent them all to me for for some reason or other but anyway that was his gift. Time I've never played any of before we wrap it up and you gotta come back on the show because I knew when we started talking it was gonna take multiple shows But before we wrap up the conversation about Andy Kaufman in yourself at one point during the feud you Russell the gap on behalf of You Know Jim Carey. And he was the colossus of death. Who was the Colossus of death? I must know the Colossus of death was all my gosh. What is his name? He came in with. He came in with the Garvin He was the big guy came in with with the Jimmy. Garvin IS PARTNER STEVE. On the world's worst on trying to remember this way walked across the the rate with his hands of you know and plan nine from outer space it was a tremendous. But and then you go ahead lockup with him because he had his arms out. Yoke like walking like a like he was sleepwalking. Kind of like Frankenstein. Rankin said to know who the Colossus of death. Oh my gosh. If I'm the next time you had me back I'll have this name. I just can't remember can't recall it right now but And you would know him. Oh Gosh what does the land also I think when Kenneth Starr few Jimmy Hart there towards the end they had. They had their little tiff and I guess Common Slab Jimmy Hart and Hart was running off the mouth that he had been slapped in front of three hundred and fifty five thousand people three hundred and fifty five thousand people. I guess at the time that was the population of Memphis. Exactly that was that was that was that was. That was our Saturday morning ratings and we were in Memphis. Of course you were proud. I mean because the population of Memphis literally was about seven hundred thousand people and we had on Saturday mornings. Three hundred fifty. Five thousand of those people were watching Saturday morning wrestling. So that was a huge. That was a big news story in Memphis so for him. What that's what he was. That's what he was referring to at the time. And you know of course. Everybody was watching. That did seem like a huge Huge amount of people from Memphis. Tv. But you're the little the little tiff that When we worked Andy in and they all became a ruse as they were actually working together to get back at the end but when they had we had the little interviews that there with with Andy and Jimmy Hart fighting. If you watch that it's the best non fights you'll ever see. Both these guys are like two girls slapping at each other. Neither one of them made contact with anything and it was the funniest and the greatest. Pull apart there's ever been in wrestling if he asked me. Well I'm talking to Jerry. So how was it to do with feel he? You know what they never had. None of that ever showed that hit that. Hit Handy so fast handy and I had you know after that. He came back and we had match after match. We we head down to where he was doing. Boxing matches saying that he'd been trained by Mohammed Ali and showed it. You know all of this kind of stuff. And then he started bringing in people like Ken. Patera Jesse the body Ventura and all of these guys with a bounty on my head. That they were some he was going to pay anybody. Five thousand dollars. A hospitalized me with a pile driver and you know we just. We just kept going weekend and week out anti just kept coming back and then one week if you remember. I had I had seen on Sunday morning. The Jerry lawler show. That was on Sunday mornings. Just just thirty minute talk show Core wrestling centerpiece. And I had andy on is one of my guests on there one morning and You he was in another studio and it made it look like he was out in Hollywood talking and it was. It was around Thanksgiving and We were doing this little segment where we called the biggest Turkey of the year and we were going to superimpose. Indy's head Turkeys Body and I'll never forget the head of the camera on Indian. He was sitting over there and he said. Let me. Let me tell you something lawler if you put my face on the Turkey. I'm GONNA sue you. I promise you and he was coughing throughout this. I remember that yeah and then after that interview was over he walked over in the studio. And he's he's way to say Jerry said Mr. I apologize for coughing during that he said but I just I just this past week. Diagnosed with cancer lung cancer and So anyway that was the for and I just like in the movie I said. Oh that's that's not funny and he's no I'm serious and So then right after that he started going to getting treatment and He immediately started He started losing his hair. And then that then that once he loves it here even come back anymore and then all the cancer was so fast acting. He only lasted about three months after that and it was rough. How was your experience Meghan Man on the moon the story of Andy Kaufman. Well I mean you know I had a great time. I enjoyed it with the only. The only exception was the fact that it was tough working with Jim Carey because for some reason when reserve other Jim Carey Was so I don't know if it's method acting or whatever but he was so He was so in wanted to be so in character he would show up every day on the set already dress already and makeup as anti nobody even the director. The director was meals. Foreman who directed men who directed Amadeus and one flew over the CUCKOO's nest. He was one of the most famous directors. Ever even he was not allowed to refer to him as Jim Carey. Everybody had to refer to him as Andy. Reid I mean. And so that's how how in character he was and so apparently one day. I finally asked I asked me does. This guy is even read. The script does not know that handy and I were really friends because he treated meat throughout the movie like Andy and I acted always on television. We were bitter enemies you know. I mean he threw. He threw eggs at me at one time. He threw a bottle of juice to busted at my feet every one time and then what and then actually one time during the filming the fight scene he was so into one to do and experience everything that Andy experienced he. We were getting ready to. We were doing. The piledriver seem so he he had actually called the week before we flew out to Hollywood to do the thing he called. I got a call in like two thirty in the morning. I wake up and this Jim Carey and Danny Devito and somebody from the from from the studio and an insurance guy. Four people on a conference call with me at two thirty in the morning. And I'm like what the Hell Anyway. There's an Jim Carey number asking me. Do you think it'd be possible for me to actually give Jim piledriver without him. Getting hurt and Because Jim was adamant on the fact that he wanted to didn't want to use a stunt double. He wanted me to actually give him a piledriver so that it would be so realistic and they would be just like what happened. Andy and but the movie. The you know the people who were doing the movie. The insurance people all this they were against. Danny Devito was one of the producers. He was against it and But Jim was getting getting me on the line to try to convince them that there was no way he could get hurt. And so I'm telling him I said well you know getting a powder. Two thousand people have never really heard anybody yet so I pretty confident I can do it. You know without him getting hurt but anyway one thing led to another. They wouldn't allow it so we're getting ready to film the scene out in Hollywood and the he They had a stop double. That looked as much like Jim. Carrey Jim Carey did it was amazing. This guys all dressed up just like Jim Carrey. And so so we had they had when their family they took the Olympic auditorium out there and they tried to make it look like the mid South Coliseum and a funny story and I guess the writers were from Hollywood and they bought into so much of this this stick that Andy had said We get out there and getting ready to film the scene. It's supposed to be the mid South Coliseum and Steve. I look in the audience and they've got probably thousand extras in in this audience and about half of them are wearing straw hats and overall I went over to the director and I said man them Memphis is not like some podunk kick hillbilly down. I don't think I've ever seen anybody where Straw hat I've been arrested in there for twenty years strident the match and I said not all of these cowboy hat either. I said it's not a hillbilly town Memphis blues down. As as not that you know so I swear this costume guy gets out of megaphone. He goes into every.

"Who every time he said across word is a lot of it made it. Yeah there were a lot of them but it made it hilarious and then as soon as as soon as that show went off the air shows that segment went off the air men. My phone blew up. It was like the New York Times and it was like the New York. Post the Daily News. You know inquire magazine everybody you can think of started calling about that and then the next day it was on the front page pictures of me slapping and he was on the front page of every New York newspaper. You know what just last week Steve. The New York now the TV guide had on the front cover and a big story about the top sixty most riveting moments in television history and that it says there wrestler. Jerry lawler fights with Andy Kaufman on the David. Letterman show was one of the top sixty day I mean. The number one number was like the Beatles making their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan. Show Elvis Presley appearing on the Ed Sullivan. Show in nineteen fifty six and it goes all the way back television history and that is included in the top sixty most riveting moments of pop culture. You guys are doing this angle and it was tremendous. What are the boys? Think about Andy when well you know what we kept him away from everybody else Andy was with Andy was different in the fact that he would do Meditation before match so we hate. He had his own dressing room. Nobody was allowed to bothering because he literally meditate for like hour and a half before it was time for him to go out and do anything straight up away from everybody he was he was he was sort of a strange duck in the sense that he had these he had these little. You know he was different from what the guy is. You know we were used to being around but But by the same token he was the nicest guy ever most respected love the wrestling business. I mean Andy and I are the same age and he never referred to me once his Jerry always called me Mr Lawlor and I would always come on anybody just you know. He was so respectful of the business and wrestling and toby. Before you know he's a I'd give up everything I'm doing in Hollywood. I give up the taxi all the TV shows everything. If I could just stay involved with wrestling that's.

"Him right. I hit him his could knocked him right out of the chair of the floor and the the music stock plane and everybody was just like. Oh just like this hushed silence and I've watched it back and Dave is just like look at us he just like serious like Oh my God what does happen you know and so so anyway? The security guard comes over grabs me and takes me back to The Green Room and then I can hear this commotion going on out there like you know Andy starts gets up and starts just ranting and raving and screaming and all of the sort of stuff so about literally usually they just take a break for two minutes and literally about fifteen minutes went by while all this commotion was going on in Store and then finally it's of quiet down. I'm just sitting by myself in the green room and suddenly the door kind of opens up a little bit in this intern sticks hidden and he said Mr Lawler I think he was thinking. I'm going to stick my head in here with a killer. I I I never strike another guest on talk show every and so he says Mr Longer. Dave was wondering if you'd like to come back out him sort of wrap things up. I said sure I'll do whatever so. Go back out into the studio. And Andy's way over by the door he's and I sit down by Dave again and it is all too crowded turned into sort of like a wrestling crat. All of a sudden they six hundred fifty people start booing me right so so then I sit down. And they're going. They're going like ten nine and looks over. Andy Are you going to come back in here or not and he says no if I do I'll say words you can't say on television and he says Okay and three two one. We're on a day says well. I'm here in Jerry lawler's here and Andy. Kaufman's here some nights. I wish Tom Snyder were still here over for Tom. Snyder in the show so anyway He said would you like to thank you for being here and right about that time. Andy comes in offset standing behind Dave and he starts pounding on days desk and screaming. Every kind of obscenity. You can think of. That's you know he's just cussing. F F this mother this and then and one thing you had no about Andy and I think this is what really sold Dave on. The deal was Andy. Didn't ever curse or swear or get upset or anything like that and for him to be doing this so out of character. But I'm thinking. Oh my Gosh Sandy. What's wrong with you? You know they. They're obviously gonNA show the slap or they wouldn't have back out here and now here you are. You're you're totally ruined in it now. I was just thinking you know. He's this is never gonNA get here so with my body language. I try to sit back in the chair. And just like cross my leg like like show my discuss with Andy. You're you're killing right. And so he grabs. Dave's coffee get mixed. I contact with me to let me know what about the what two and he throws the coffee so that I can get out of the way on it and I jump up again. And then he runs off to set again. The security guy comes back in and and Dave was just so frazzled. It was just unbelievable so the security guy takes me off the set again and takes me straight to the elevator and he and I get on the elevator. And I'm thinking what you're GonNa do me up or whatever and soon as the door closed on the elevator. The Security Guard says man. I just wanted to get you out of the bill. And he's because that Kaufman is an idiot. He said his elevator. Don't go all the way to the top floor and he's probably GonNa try to. Have you arrested so let me get you out of here? Takes me downstairs? I getting the cabinet. Go back to my hotel. I didn't hear anything from anybody and this was like about maybe seven o'clock or something and The show of course came on eleven thirty and I didn't hear a word from anybody and I'm thinking what are they going to do? Are they gonNA show this or what so anyway? I turn on the TV at eleven thirty and there was the whole thing they showed it all except of course when Andy started cursing and swearing. They put in the leaked it out. But they didn't put in beets they put what made it even funnier. They put in these. Little Gruber's.

"Didn't have anybody to help him. Anybody no referee on his side or anything like that so that was the premise of this thing. He and he had a piece of paper in his hand he told Lance Russell he said here's a paper with a place and a date and if lawler will meet me there nobody but him and me know wherever you know fans no nothing. I will beat him within an inch of his life and I'll prove to everybody in Memphis. What a phony he is. You know that sort of thing. That's how that came about. And then of course who we did it. We did it on a Monday afternoon before the batches were that night flew into. He flew into town And so we had the the read already set up for the matches. They were going to be that Monday afternoon. So he and I just went over to the Coliseum early. Of COURSE NOBODY WOULD LANCE. Russell in the cameraman was there. And that's where we had the match but how was it working with just all that silence because you listen to a crowd as good as anybody in history of the business and it's drilling really unusual. That was the first time I'd done anything like that. Either you know and so it strange. It was different. But Terry you know if you if you ever go back and watch the footage Terry was never quiet for one second during that he was always shouting yelling or something so wasn't exactly like it was completely completely quiet. You know but I just wish we'd have done more outside the ring and thrown into the chairs and different things like that but it all lit up to the big finish of Terry busted the ring steps and had big jagged piece of wood and he got in the ring and he was just about to stab me with that piece of wood when I kicked it back and he gouged in the eye and of course the blood start flowing out of his eye and then the classic unforgettable I it was just so great you know and just What made it so different. Was You know carry? It made Terry made. It looked like this. It was real in the fact that nobody was there and this wasn't really going to be on. Tv or anything so he was cussing it was like a stone cold promo whereas that son of a bitch. I told you that yellow bastard wouldn't show up on this is this is unheard of at the time. So you knew is gonNA bleep it out but it still. It made it made. It seem so real. Let's talk a little bit about Andy. Kaufman has had a damn feud and I wash of course I remember back in the day. Whose idea was it to bring Andy Kaufman in. It was Andy's idea. So what do you do to reach out to you and call you? He reached out The first thing Andy did and let me just give you a real quick background on Andy Kaufman Andy. Kaufman was from. Long Island New York. He grew up as a kid a bean a huge wrestling fan. I mean that was I mean he. He told me he used to watch nature. Boy Buddy Rogers and and the funny thing about wrestling had a major influence on Andy's entire career. He used to tell me he said. I was amazed at this watching this nature. Boy Buddy Rogers that somebody could go on TV and intensely. So I could tell he was trying to make the people hate him and he said but yet he was still popular and he said that just He said that just struck a chord with me. And as Andy grew up in his performances he always had that in the back of his mind and he would tell you and he told me many times he said. I'm not a comedian. I never told a joke in my life. He said I'm just a performance artist and he said I just like to do things to elicit a response from my audience and he said I enjoy getting a negative response. People people don't like me and so he would do a lot of that sort of thing and and throughout his career but then when he became a lot of character on the taxi in taxi was the number one show in America at the time the highest rated show on TV. And Andy just wanted to use that celebrity status that he had to sort of live out a fantasy of his and that was to be a bad guy wrestler and so he started doing that in some of the nightclub comedy act he did and comedy clubs and things he would fight women up on the stage to wrestle with him and he'd have some maps down and hit a friend. Bob's mood addressed in a referee shirt and come out and he just played the role of bad guy wrestler. He'd insult women and all of this sort of You know degrading comments to and then and then it Russell them actually beat them in the wrestling match and he did that for a while he did it. On Saturday night live and on the MERV Griffin show and different different places but he wanted to wrestle in front of an actual wrestling audience. So one night in New York. I think the show was long island and he went to the show and he approached. Vince McMahon senior at the time and You know he introduced himself and said you know. I told him what he'd been doing and he said I just WanNa wrestle and wrestled in front of actual wrestling fans in front of people that came to see wrestling and see the response that I'll get doing their fortunately for me. It's McMahon Senior said Wendy. I'll be honest with you as and our fans are kind of skeptical anyway. He said I'm just hesitant to involve a Hollywood actor in our shows he said. I'm just afraid that the people might think that we're all actors and they were all acting so I appreciate it but I I'm gonNA pass at this year's too soon thirty years too soon. Exactly but my friend. Bill after bill after he was the editor pro wrestling illustrator or photographer and writer for them. He overheard the conversation and he knew Andy. He grew up in the same town and he told. Eddie said Hey you know what? And of course the Andy. All he knew was New York wrestling. So Bill said. Hey I got a friend Jerry. Lawler as a territory down in Memphis Tennessee. He said I'll bet he'd be interested in this. Let me give him your number and so Out of the blue from Andy Kaufman and he's talking about coming down and he just told me the same thing that he's the victim senior and I thought God I mean. This guy is the biggest one of the biggest stars on television. Of course we'll have you come down to Memphis you know. That's how it all started. He came down. Just WanNa wrestle women out of the audience and he did that. We sold out immediately. The people hate it. He may cut some promos talking about two women talking about the south and all of this sort of stuff from was at just all him doing his thing. Well the first one he did. He said that he just did on his own. And the next one's the actually came over to my house and we we sat down and we cut promos with Andy and he and I just came up with them for about an hour. And because you know he wasn't going to be able to come back every single week so we wanted to have plenty of promos in the In the can and I swear after the first three weeks of show in his promos the TV station manager called up and said Jerry. You guys we can't show these calls but promos anymore. He's Oh my God. The people with the phone calls either. They're threatening to burn the station down. You know if we continue to show that these these people the fans hate Andy they you know and of course you know what had done we. I gave him a bar soap and he cut the promos and let me introduce us to people here in the south to something. This is soap. Say It after me. So he's not so not so it's soap and he said what you do is you. Put it under the Faucet. Run some water on it wherever it around your hands. It'll make lather. Put it under your arms and wash under your arms and y you know. He's like insinuating people. South would never bays. Then we'd cut a promo the next week we're roll of toilet paper story like the people in the south at never even seen toilet paper and so the people literally hated this guy and we went for several weeks of him wrestling the women and then. I'm thinking I gotta get a way to get a rub off this big Hollywood guy so it went to Andy and I said and literally he was not thinking of doing anything but wrestling women and I said absolutely he never never thought of having a match with a man and that's what I told him. I said Andy. This is GonNa only go so far. We need to keep this going. Do you need to have a wrestling match with a man? And he said Oh no no. No I'm just I'm the inter-gender wrestler and I ended and he said I'll get hurt and I said look you and I can have a match and I promise you won't get hurt. It'll be simple but then most of it will be the build up the lead up to the mattis tremendous you know and I said we can just do anything to get out of it. And that's how that's how the match came about and then of course we really didn't if you remember we didn't do anything in the match other than drop him on his head with SUPLEX. One time when she told me later knocked him out and Dennis Grades. Get him a couple of pile drivers and as the match was over. They disqualified me as that was over. He's he's just laying there and so I referee Jerry. Calhoun And we you know we had to turn away crap. Twelve thousand people there and they were all up around the ring and they were so happy that Andy had finally got what he deserved there. Screaming Hollering and just laid there motionless. Like did you know so? I'm walking around holding hands up and finally the crafts kind you know. Yeah Yeah Yeah and I'm thinking okay. It's time to get him up and getting back to the restroom so told. Calhoun the referee us. I go over and over until to you. Know to help him up and getting back to his seat and getting back to dresser so calhoun walks over kneels down. I'm just still walking around looking at. They're waving and and So counted I see him talking to him so then. Calhoun comes back to me. Andy says he wants an ambulance ambulance. He's not no no. I should just go over. Just go over and help him up. Just telling you know you get some guys that have helping back and I said just act like you heard on the way back to the restroom. And so calvin goes back over again and tells him and then he later he comes back to me. Interest really says he's really says he wants an ambulance and I should go tell Andy than an ambulance. Three hundred to come out here and I said plus the where they go take him to hospital and I should just tell him. It's too expensive. We're not going to get an ambulance right. So goes over and kneels down beside Andy again and he's still not moving just saying a few words. The referee comes back over to me and says he says he'll pay for it..

"You've had some Classic with a ton of people what you know from Terry Funk we we gotta talk for second about that Terry Funk empty arena match. We talked about that a little bit earlier what was the deal with the empty arena match. You know if your member Stephen I mean in in the territory we you know you. You work the same towns every week and usually once a week I mean you know that those days are certainly gone with the wind. Now I mean you know the ww hit a city. If you're lucky twice a year you know but but back in the day just like for instance I are. Major City was Memphis and we did Memphis every single Monday night. We had live wrestling every Saturday morning for ninety minutes on on Saturday morning TV in Memphis and then that was like basically a ninety minute long commercial down to the show at the mid South Coliseum on Monday night. It was weekend and week out. So man you are under the gun to like you said The last time I was on your show when we talk about Jerry Jerry promoting he and I were under the gut every week to try to draw a crowd. I mean that that building had twelve thousand seats in it. And you were just you know. You're just looking to put as many people in there every Monday night as you could and so when we would get somebody like a Terry funk a big name Terry funk that could come in on a weekly basis force that was a big deal you know because it was hard to get somebody to come back weekend Brad. Weekend week out so what what happened with Terry. Week we go and then we were just doing such a good run. I mean we'd probably we probably worked five six straight weeks there. Swear just if I'm not mistaken it may have been Terry's idea in the way he cut a promo one week. He just he just said you know. It's hard to get a fair shake in Memphis as lawler's hometown. He says from the minute I land in an airplane coming in from Texas. Soon as I get off.

"The people perceive the wrestlers as being just as big stars as they were now but of course it was on a more regional basis. It was you know there wasn't that national or worldwide television Exposure like we have now but But I I can remember when the big deal you knew you had arrived and I don't know if this was your case or not but if you ever made a thousand dollars week go you got into business. If you've ever been small dollars a week youth you knew you had made it you know and that was that was I I can. I can still remember and now you know now. It's just like the the the pay days in the playoffs now are just so astronomical is just amazing you know with guys like Well I mean I don't I don't know how many of the top guys John Cena Randy Orton. All the guy's making millions and millions of dollars a year. Now you know it's just It's it's just it's just so different but I mean like you said when you were back when you were struggling to make a thousand dollars a week and to do that. Sometimes you know Steve. We Russell ten times a week every single day and sometimes a couple of double shots and triple shots on TV. On Saturday you know things like that but But yeah thousand dollars in a week was amazing back then. I remember back in the day when I be my paychecks there. Now we always get paid in EVANSVILLE INDIANA. And you know the deal. Everybody had cubicles back here and that dressing room and I was getting my paychecks and most time I never broke double digits. You know every now. And then I'm getting a triple digits and you know dude when you're making fifteen twenty dollars a night and you know the road schedule. You know the mouse. It gets pretty tough and there was a time. You know what I always like to say. That was when Jerry. Jarrett was making the payoff. Jerry always made to pay off and and and you know to be fair to Jerry. He came up. You know he came up under the tutelage of Nicholas Reid. Who was the original promoter in Tennessee territory and Nicholas was infamous In the wrestling business for being just being the worst payoff guy in history you know. I mean he would bring four guys up from Mexico and just you know they would. They would want to leave but then you know he would keep them so broke that they couldn't leave so It was just it was just. That's what influence Jerry and like. You said that went on through You know for a long time. The Tennessee territory has had a bad rap for being a not a place. Where you'RE GONNA make a lot of money you know you'd be. You're lucky like you said in those days the those payoffs barely cover your gas and expenses into it from the town. You're almost wrestling for nothing. Basically it was Adleman for Dutch and champion riding with me. They're putting gas in the car. I was simply putting miles of my car and of course I was getting the education of talk and wrestling to the show and back. But you know how things are pretty tough. I remember on my return trip I they brought me back into Tennessee territory and Jerry. Jarrett put me on one hundred dollar night guarantee. I thought I had hit the big time I hadn't been in business too long and then You know things are going along pretty good and I was working about five six days a week. Still never never hit that thousand dollar mark. One time we were there in Evansville. Indiana got two paychecks. And Oh you know normally I should see a row of one hundred for that hundred dollar guarantee and I did not a and I said Oh man I gotta talk to the man so as Jerry. I just want to talk to you about this paycheck man. I thought we had a deal here. And Jerry look straighten and he told me the way it was and I was young cat in business. He Goes Steve. Kerr doors down you goes I understand You know we had an agreement but if you've gotta go down the road I understand web house between a rock and hard place Jerry. Trying to learn too damn business you know. We had a guarantee I met my first major financial crisis with the promoter. Owner the territory so man. Just you know at the blink of an eye. I said that's cool. Jerry I said no I said I WANNA keep working. You know maybe when the territory gets better you know we can go back to our agreement. Mesa that's cool Steve. So you know I kept my job and it was one of those split decisions it had to be made and you know we all go through that but that was one of the crucial things. I learned a lot working in that territory and I learned a lot working with you. But when you're talking about Nick Ghoulish Schooling Jerry Jarrett. As far as you know he was the first. Guy Tennessee there with that territory and being so notoriously. Cheap this payoffs. Did you ever get a chance to work for Paul Bosch? Who was known for a very good payoffs down? Well you know what Paul Bosch I I've worked a couple of shows for Paul Bausch With I mean I think with gene-o her against Gino Hernandez totally Blanchard And some into matches there But I didn't really get to know him. He's really really nice guy but I wouldn't. I probably only work. Maybe three or four shows for him. Would you think about Gino? Back in the day when you're working with him at a Young Age oh my gosh. He's he was a great great young talent. I mean he had tully blanchard together. What a what I can remember that being i. I'll tell you what I was really excited about getting up today and coming to talk to Jerry. Lawler our guests on the show a big fan of his work To me is one of the greatest talkers in the history of the business and he was inducted into the hall of fame for. Wwe March thirty first in two thousand seven so Jerry how are you man? Welcome to the show. Well Steve. I'm doing great. It's a pleasure to be on here with you and you talked about Talked about your your ride early on in the show and I just I just WANNA to get out of the way since we're talking about vehicles that I just made a major purchase last week I bought a batmobile. What the mobile a Batmobile is if you remember back from nineteen sixty sixty old Adam West Tv Show Batman. Yeah it's it's an exact replica of that batmobile word around town the other night and and fortunately it doesn't pull to the left but it's a little. It's a little loud. I was tooling around town. And My batmobile getting getting quite a bit of attention the other day so Sometimes we'll have to. We'll have to get the batmobile together with your suburban and and and maybe we'll have a drag race or something. I don't know what you got on the hood at thing. I can't say we'll do for peace. Lived for fun. It's built on a nineteen seventy nine. Camaro and it's got three fifty engine. It's pretty it's it's pretty awesome. It'll it'll it'll get up and go a flame doesn't shoot out the backup yet. But it'll it'll it'll make some. It'll make some noise and and move on down the road. Where did you find a replica of the Batman Gawkers? I'm a huge fan. But when you said Batmobile I mean I only knew the one that they used on the show or have a minute used on the show. So how many batmobile clones or replicas are floating around that you may find that I don't know the exact answer to but you're right. George Barris built the original batmobile. That was used back in the show in nineteen sixty six that Adam West Dover out at that that original car just sold a few months ago for four and a half million dollars. I believe that. Four and a half million dollars for that for that Batmobile there's a guy in there's a guy that lives in Johnson Tennessee. His name is Matt Dollar and he has built about his built about six of these. I mean identical replicas to this car and I was up at a I was up doing a show in Knoxville Called a fan boy. Invention and Adam West was there a at the show and this guy. Apparently he also makes the The mask and the cows for Adam. West that that That are exact replicas of the masks that the Batman Mask that he wore during the show and then apparently Adam signs and they sell those for about six hundred dollars on atoms website but anyway This guy brings the batmobile around whenever Some of the shows that Adam West appears at and I was on the show and I saw the batmobile. Mike Busse where I was signing a matter of fact I'm Dallas page. Was there and I was right across from the battlefield so I just you know I saw this thing. I'm looking at it for three straight days there and I just. I was a huge fan like you said. You were In the back of the old original Batman Chelsea yeah and So anyway I went over and I talked to Matt a little bit and got to knowing. He gave me his card and just a few a couple of weeks ago. I get a call out of the blue from him and Apparently is he takes care of his dad. Up in Johnson City Tennessee and his dad's got to be put in a nursing home and he's got Alzheimer's and and the guy was just. You know maybe needing some extra money and just having to catch him at the right time and he said men. I'll make you a heck of a deal on a car that was at the show and so I couldn't turn it down. I said Okay and he drove it. Well you didn't drive it. He put it on the back of a car hauler and drove it down here and next thing I look at my driveway. There's the batmobile. How's the body work on that thing with the fans and all the molding of fiberglass worked at a do a good job on it. Oh my gosh it's fabulous. It's just I mean it's it's amazing. It's just exactly like the Batman Batmobile that you saw the TV show you couldn't tell it apart. I mean all the bells and whistles and I'm actually there's a you know. Ls Of course that works for wwe. You know the stunt Guy He wants me to bring it down to Atlanta and put it in his shop. Who said he said he'll make it where he'll shoot aflame out the back of it and do You know a little extra Odds and ends on it and make it just exactly like the original mobile. The flames shooting at the back end. I think I'd leave that one alone. Your call her. I'm not asking you the dollar amount but I know you save you money you would wanna guys that saved your money throughout your career You got a good deal on it to get a real good deal. I know. Say My money but I'm exactly like you. I heard you say we're we're both. I like to use the term frugal. Throw our money around. And that's A lot of people a lot of people don't realize in in the wrestling business and the reason so many guys You know wind up in trouble at the end of their careers. Because you know we don't have those. We don't have the Pension plan and we don't have a you know we don't have any insurance programs or or any kind of if you don't save your money man when your career is over you look around and you don't have any more income all of a sudden and you're in trouble you know so but And I learned that from my mentor. Jackie Fargo. He told me he said the same words that you said early on. It's not what you make. It's what you save. And so yeah I did say my money and and and you know I'm I'm still of course still Gainfully employed by the WWe thank goodness and and But I just don't go out and throw you know I I wouldn't go out and just make a bunch of big crazy wild wild purchases and everything but this was just something that I really loved. And and You know I paid considerably less than the four point four terrorist or a lot less. But you know as you got to save you money and I tell her but I didn't matter what you do to save money but coming up in the wrestling business as you. Well know you've been in forever and I'm right behind you but you grew up. I mean when you get in the business you achieve what's got what we call wrestlers mentality. Where when you buy that first house or that second half whatever? You're always buy it in cash because you didn't know when you're going to get fired you know when the territory is going to close down didn't know what was going to happen. Didn't go down with an injury so back in the day the thing to do when you had enough to buy a house you paid cash money for it these days. Everybody's used them as a write off but back in a day. That's just the way it was when you bought something you paid cash. Was that the way it was with you. Oh absolutely and and if you remember Steven well like you said I mean I. I started in a crazy business forty three years ago. You know I had my first match at in December of one thousand. Nine hundred seventy so That's a long time ago and and the business was was significantly different than you know. The guys were the people perceive the wrestlers as being just as big stars as they were now but of course it was on a more regional basis. It was you know there wasn't that national or worldwide.

"I think thank God for Bret Hart Jerry Lawler, because they they disguised everything Glenn was very green. It's time and didn't probably really didn't belong in that spot. But you had Lawler and Brett to kinda get him through it. So made passable wasn't great once on to ride home go. Oh my God. Did you see Bret Hart is a Kim? Good. So Brittany come have a rematch on raw in Lawler suspended in a cage over the ring. And after a while into the match he kept saying he was scared heights in his nose starts to bleed and Lawler would explain in his book that it had a deviated septum. And he had no idea exactly what points to the nose did it, but he'd never even had a broken nose. But for whatever reason one nasal passage was much narrower than the other. And if you ever had trouble breathing he'd use a nasal spray. But whenever that stuff we're off. You'd have to open that passage backup again, you'd give scab on the inside. And sometimes feel like it was closing up. And he would have a big. Nose bleed. So he screaming events. Don't raise me up. Scared heights any reaches up and pulls the scab out and starts to bleed. I mean, what an old pro fucking Lawler is to even think of that. Right. Absolutely genius. Because we're watching it. And we know he was going to do that. And no clue but it was part of you is thinking did he take something up there too? Right. I is he squirting blood up his nose and run down like that. And but it was ingenious because I'm afraid of heights. And when some people get too high up their nose bleeds, something else Lawler dead that was pretty innovative in not just that blood spot, but he would wrestle enhancement talent. And a lot of times he would do it with a microphone in the ring with him. So he'd do commentary on his own match. That's like fucking genius as that his idea to talk through that. I love that was Vinci's ideas away to get Jerry to do color commentary. And why would he do it on his own match down and Lawler had a hard time with it at first because it's kind of awkward to try and have a match and do commentary through the whole thing and find ways to get your opponent down. And what the hell are you gonna do? Do. So in the very beginning. It was tough. But he he got the flow of it after a while. But that was something Vince just loved to hear him. Hear him do is own commentary on his own match on TV somewhere in here. The start to make some announcer changes and DOK Hendrix comes in and actually replaces Jerry Lawler. And then Jerry moves over to superstars. What's the what's the rationale and more Markle Hayes, less Jerry Lawler. No. We were just looking for change change it up shake it up some new seasons. New times, they often just shake it up. And I'd really tried to get Michael in for a long time. And would get the same answer. You know, God damn that luck look at him. So we finally made it happen. And there was what the hell was going on. We just needed that. Void and we needed him quick. So Michael came in and just like Lawler, he hit it off with Vince right away. And they had chemistry going back and forth. And I always thought that Michael I think Michael's one of the best play by play guys are colored guys in the business for he'll wow about that. Glowing going V there. Let's talk about that survivor series. This is something that we've never spent a lot of time on survivor series nineteen ninety five and it's an interesting time in the company because you've got undertaker fought to Henry. Godwin and salvio Vega. Taking on Jerry Lawler, hunters, Townsley, king, Mabel, and Isaac yank them, fourteen minutes and twenty one seconds. What did you think of the match Meltzer would say not much for wrestling? But the booking was good game in have. God you look look that lineup undertaker fought to lead to be rookie..

Amazing presence. And even though Madonna Konadu donor at the ward show that I didn't watch. I read about saw the exert Madonna was about putting over Madonna. He might have been a great idea and they're quote unquote, riders room, this ridicule. Madonna comes back. She's six years old. She's gonna put over Aretha she did put over Raith more on that. "That announcing the shawn michaels jerry lawler had done the deal why there were phrases that were used on commentary like do you think she is horizontally accessible and the other said she is acceptable every which way from what i hear and then when she's holding the microphone somebody else said she certainly seemed comfortable with holding that microphone up to her mouth like that so there's lots of you know double entendre and sexual innuendo when you hear that does this feel like the marrows just piling on them and they knew what they were signing up for do you remember them pushing back on the creative you were there for some of this i was there for all of it i wasn't there for any pushback whatsoever from them at any time in a lot of that i wasn't involved in the creative either so i didn't have that level of involvement with them one on one for any of this knows never brought to by tension that any of that was questionable it any time they way shape or form that was the nature of the business at the time we did use a lot of sexual innuendo and double entendre 's and what have you that was a product that we're pushing at that time it's different time and different place so it was was what it was and you don't hear any complaining while they're going through it so it's again when i you stated before as far as how people look at it and sexual harassment lawsuit it wasn't it was a contractual lawsuit and and i think a lot of it just so much of it the narrative summers ation by people like dave meltzer and even film mush nick and other media that gives that narrative that their interpretation their summers ation is what is made people think it was lot more than it actually was so let's talk a little bit about where the money comes in she's climbing that the company didn't change its drug policy well they didn't enforce their own as she'd been promised they didn't limit her appearances as she'd been promised she wasn't able to develop her acting career as she'd been promise so she says she had losses exceeding ten million she also says that her merchandise was not accurately reported from an accounting standpoint and she needs those damages to be determined but she needs another ten million for the remarks that were made to broadcast which violated her agreement another ten million for an unsafe working environment which caused her emotional distress she also says that work was made so intolerable that she can she had to leave work and those damages cost her another ten million and she claimed that they had violated the unfair trade practices act which is another ten million so eventually soil over one hundred million dollars here and meltzer would say that some parts of this is just silly and that some does have merit but not nearly at the financial level that stated any says that she would be more sympathetic sympathetic character if she was turning down these exploitations oversell rather than allowing herself to be marketed and then taking the big payoffs after being exploited sexually for all she was worth because the company was clearly complicit with her and all of this and he does say just because she posed for playboy doesn't mean she should be requested or expected to expose her breasts in an arena or on lavrov or pay per view and you would say that never happened anyway right under witness happen ever while all this is going on i guess it's worth mentioning mario's dad passed away when when all this is going on are you having any sort of i mean what was your relationship like with marc mero i mean did did you ever relationship on any this going down where you could just call him and say dude really not really monk my relationship with both of them during this time was strictly business and yet dealt with them on business matters and it wasn't one friendly relationship it wasn't it wasn't a strain relationship or anything else it was just business as usual so it wasn't anything out of.
