"Want everything. I want all the meatballs and pasta. Have you friday broncos country. It's always a football friday. Every friday here on the broncos daily podcast but with football practice in full swing. It truly is a football friday. I could pull my notes and go through the highlights of the day and there were a few to try to keep score the quarterback competition. But i can just give you the overall consensus and save everybody. Some time drew lock definitely had a few more wild plays teddy bridgewater kind of even things up. Teddy just doesn't missed too often at the same time. It doesn't take chances down the field so we'll see how things go next week. When they're in pads and they ratchet up the pressure coming off the edges and stuff and certainly when the first team oh line is in there or whatever the first team online looks like you just garrett bowles as the as the barometer garrett bowles and and you know reisner and graham glasgow and cushioned baron. There that's considered the first team. Oh line the receiver cycle through And that gives you guys working with all the different pass catchers but all things being equal. I think lock had a little bit better day. That people tell me that they thought it was more tied today. And if you're keeping score at home that's kinda one one one. If you call today a tie. And i had one person in the building that just going to be good enough for drew. Lock to win it because you know you're going to have with teddy and think so much of this defense that it won't matter drew. Lock upside if he can't have enough consistency the consistency. That teddy has even. When it's underneath yesterday stretches a field. He had a beautiful pass. In seven. On seven to k j hamblur. You can see that It's out on social media the play of the day. And the broncos posted the video of it if i'm not mistaken and so that looked good and j. Judy just looks good whenever he has the ball in his hands in fact let's hear vic fangio before we get to george story in just a few minutes hour we're gonna hear from no offence dalton rising as well but here's vanja when i him about jerry judean how he looks in your to cause for more standing. He looks really damn good. He's a lot more polished than better more prepared to play right now than he was last year knows the game. Better got a ville. What the nfl. Football's the lake making the adjustment from college. The pro you know. He had limited time to do that last year. No preseason games and he had an up and down rookie year some great moments bad moments and i think those have really helped shaped him and he's had a really good off season and it's carried over to camp whether it's.

"And that short said something similar. Last week. We found out all this young offensive talent. So, speaking of that offensive talent Specifically the rookie wide receivers. Vic was asked today about Jerry Judean KJ handler whose numbers last couple weeks. Especially Judy's, having been great what he's seen from his 1st and 2nd round picks is here. Well, I think both of them have good hands. Occasionally, you're gonna have some drops, but obviously Just repetition and catching a million balls. You know, in the offseason during the season practice, all of that will help you improve your hands, but I think both of them have shown that they belong in this league. It will be good players in this league for a long time. I agree. There's no reason to think. Otherwise right? You seen enough from both? And I talked earlier about Courtland sudden coming back. You Courtland something back. Pierogies like becomes a way easier cage A hammer's life becomes way easier When Tim Patrick's out there, his life becomes ways here. The one thing that Sara's things you talk about learning on the job. In any walk of life, but specifically pro football. Portland. Sudden being out has not helped the team by any means, obviously directly, right? That goes without saying, but Because Tim Patrick's maybe a little better than people realized. And I'm not saying that's not the coaching staff over there, I'm saying Broncos fans, fantasy football experts, whatever you would have seen Tim Patrick opposite of Portland, setting a bunch And then similarly to Mike Tomlin's old line about Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown that I have two dogs with one bone in a lot of your three receiver sets. Over half of them. I bet you would have seen either cage a hammer or Jerry Judea, much with both sudden and Patrick. So Courtland sudden being out. Don't look at silver linings. It probably accelerated. The playing time for both Judy and Hammer because I think they would have rotated a little bit more, especially early in the media. At this point of the year, they would have emerged and you wouldn't have seen as much Tim Patrick, but now you'll have both these guys having played. Close to 1000 snaps. I'm approximating, but, uh we'll call it 6 700 snaps if Justine Simmons plays 1000 every year. I'm just doing kind of quick math on on what Hamlin. Judy's even with six or 700 versus, may be splitting six or 700. Because Patrick and sudden would have played so many more. All right. So little more Vic Fangio obviously sneak some traffic in here coming up, but This is Vic on the team's cornerback. Issues. And at this point of the year because of Kobe, they can't really add much more. So even if you didn't like we saw in Bozz be and you don't know what you're going to see with a banged up Keenan Allen Mike Williams, who did both play on Sunday. I'm sorry on Thursday. You don't think that they're healthier. You're going to have Bozz b O J Media who got ejected from the game and likely will parks again at nickel you now and not only have the kid that you added from the Ravens practice squad, Nate Hairston, You also have Cornell Mottley He brought in from the Niners practice quite a week later available, But here's what Vic said about the lack of corners. Well, another week always helps. But I think we'll still be going with the group that we had out there on Saturday. And we'll see if Miley can progress here and pick up what we're doing and see where he's at. Make that decision as we go during the week. But, you know, we just have to do a better job. I've got to do a better job helping them. Then they're gonna have to do a better job. You know, playing the call there, too. Yes, we did see Nate Harrison little bit dealer too. After all the money you got ejected. But at that point the rails Are the wheels have come off the rails. The rails are off for the world. The wheels are off is definitely an expression, but The rails come off things go off the rails. Hey, don't say the rails have come off. Grainy, crystalline for big al and Joe Joe, Why don't we check traffic.

"Wise. I heard some comments. I haven't played the comments for my audience from Vic Fangio. As of yet, I guess you separate Bryce Callahan and Jerry Judy and the one questionable pile and then the right tackles into another, Perhaps Seemed like he was more optimistic about Judy and Callahan than maybe Dotson and Rogers. Exactly exactly. Jerry Judean. Bryce Callahan will play big band. You expect balls. Those guys play in the way they looked in practice this week. They look like they're ready to go. But the right tackle situation like you said, looking Opposite way. Jake Rogers was the only guy today of the five questionable guys for this week that did not practice. He is not trending in the right direction, so I would assume Damar Dotson. If he plays well, then there's no questions there if he does not play And you're going to be starting the fifth string. Right tackle Calvin Anderson will get his first career NFL start against the Raiders. And if you throw Giron James into the mix Brian. He's the fifth string right tackle for the Broncos. So on the defensive side or on the office inside, you'd be down to your fifth string right tackle and on the defensive side. You're not going to have Shelby Harris this week as he does have Cove it So you're gonna have an entirely backup defense of wine. I am with look, The Raiders don't have clue Mac anymore. Um, you know, so I guess that's that's a good thing. But how much of a concern is that? Because outside of right tackle the offensive line pretty well intact. But how concerning is it that you're on potentially 1/5 string right tackle going against the Raiders in particular. Yeah, It's a huge concern and for for many reasons, but also you mentioned the Grand Glasco was back. Well, he's this is his first game back. He hasn't played football in a couple of days, so I don't expect him to be 100%. So really the right side of your line and throw Lloyd cushion Berry in there because he's a rookie. He struggled. Right and middle of your offensive line is going tol not be perfect this week, and that's going to be very difficult for drew lots because one of the things they really want through to do is step up in the pocket. Stay in the pocket when he's supposed to, and if the pockets collapsing, he's not going to be able to step up. When he does step up. He's gonna be big being pushed into by his offensive lineman. He's going to revert back to sit system. Bad habits of throwing off his back foot shooting fadeaway jumpers is Pat Shurmur called it and then scrambling as well. So this game plan needs to be made with this in mind, and he needs to be putting through lock on the move to the left, even though that's going to be a little uncomfortable throwing across his body. You talk about the fade aways, and there's been so much made about drew locks, footwork, really, since he came into the league, right? How much from this last game against Atlanta? How much do you think? The the fade aways are coming because of the offensive line. And how much do you think it's because that's just Poor footwork on drew locks, part You know what it's definitely a combination of both. One of the things that I was so impressed with. Withdrew last year in his rookie year was his footwork. He had really improved that from college taken a big step up, and you saw it with his completion percentage just was the guy that did not have a 60% completion percentage in college. You rarely translate that into the NFL. If you're not good at it, and in college He did it. He had a 64% completion son. It's his rookie year in those five games, and now he's a 55 just pretty much 56% that he's taken 8% points back, and it's a combination of both things. You know. Last week when he threw that interception, Grady Jared just was unblocked. A guy in a space of he resorted to two poor form there. But but also his footwork is taking a step back. And it seems like Drew locks game has taken a pretty big step back this year. Whether it's the Pat Shurmur often maybe rich King Gorilla's offense really did hit fit him. Ah, lot better. It's certainly looking that way, but really in every part of his game. Ryan, he's taken a big step back this year, and that's obviously not what the Broncos wanted to hear a eight games through the season. There's still football to be played. Certainly we do not know where the Broncos will be drafting. I was having this conversation with actually, my dad last night. On this because he wanted my opinion, and I said, You know, Zach Stevens, who I have on on Fridays is more quick change for this than I am. Understanding. The Broncos aren't going to have a shot at fields. Or Trevor Laurence. If they're drafting. Barely in the lottery. Let's say I know you know, to use the basketball phrase if they're 12 13 14 15. The kid from North Dakota. Um, the kid that Wilson came from BYU. I mean, if you're drafting in kind of this purgatory here where you're not going to be able to draft one of the clear Favorites at this point, do you still if you were the Denver Broncos, at this point, say, the season ended today, Would you be looking quarterback in the first round? Man man, and that's why these eight games are so biggest to figure that out. But I think you have to do your due diligence if it were to end right now, just with the way through lock is trending, but like you said, And I think it's very important for people to understand. The Broncos are gonna have no shot at Trevor Lawrence. Of course, Everyone knows that. But the Broncos are gonna have no shot at Justin Fields. If you look at the draft right now. Of course, the Jets with the first pick they're taking Trevor Laurence. That second pick is just is locked up in my mind with with the JAG wires taking Justin Field, so you're not going to be able to get either the top two guys. You're exactly right. You start with the 3rd and 4th guys start with Trey Lancer. Start with Zach Wilson. And I really like both of those guys, especially that Wilson and you're probably gonna have to trade up to get those guys So I do think you do your due diligence on those guys because right now how I view Drew lock he's played in five games. 20 full quarters this year and get this Ryan in 18 of those 20 quarters. He's averaging, uh, 203 yards per game..

"Okay, so Jerry Judy's been a pretty popular topic right now on social media and in radio. Some people are going kind of to the extreme of saying it's disappointing his performance so far. We certainly haven't been on that side of things on our show, saying Well, this is kind of what you sort of expect out of a rookie. There's going to be times where he shows flashes. There's going to be times where he looks like a rookie. So I'd love to know from you. If Pat Shurmur, in your opinion should start force feeding Jerry Judy a little bit, get him in rhythm in the game. He's still running spectacular routes out there, But he's just not getting really the attention that you think a playmaker like that should Yeah, I don't know, if necessarily forced feeding is something I would say, like all their want Pat Shurmur of force, feed him, But I do think you know, And just Ah, The times that I've been re watching these games. I've wondered like, Man, why are they not going for some more high percentage throws here? Why are they trying for You know the fate. The 20 plus yard passed on third into you know that it may not be happening as often as it seems like it's happening just because they're not catching those balls. And of course, that they would catch him. You'd be like well as That's actually a great dial up the long pass play and catch him catch him sleeping out there. But since it's not working, I would think maybe go for a couple of higher percentage passes. And especially because Jerry Judy so good after the catch, you know he's He's making these defensive backs look silly, putting them in kind of a spin cycle out there a time, So it's like, Why not? Why not get him out there and let him do his thing after the catch instead of forcing him to say, Look, you're gonna be in a contested catch situation. That's it's just too bad. Otherwise, you know, so I'm I'm all for getting him higher percentage looks and Four speeding is is the way that people perceive that. I mean, maybe that's maybe that is the right way to go for at least a game to see. Okay, cancan Judy make the place after the catch. If we're not, we're not able to consistently hit those deep downfield targets. You think part of these defence is their scheming to take him away? They recognized his irritability and then you know he's become the focal point. While guys like, for instance, Tim Patrick had been the beneficiary of that over the last two games. I think getting Noah Fant back should increase the amount of targets that Judy gets because he's going to get more one on one. They're going to put in a different role and probably not have their top defensive spotlight pointed at him. So to my mind, I think that patience is the key. But what do you say that? Oh Ha ha. Take radio guy who says that if Jerry Judy doesn't have 10,000 yards by this point, his career he's a bust. And I. Well, I don't know what I'd actually Saito. Ah. I mean, I'm not safer radio, right? Is that basically? Yeah, exactly. I mean, it's it's so crucial. We saw it last year a year ago at this time, half the fan base and you know those talking head. Some of them were cutting. Noah fans are calling him a draft bust. I remember it. I mean, it's it's tough to stick with a prospect that you really like and be really vocal and supported them if they're struggling or if there, you know, like in Fanta or Judy's case, they're dropping passes. Or they're not making the chase Claypool type of impact where he's literally scoring eight touchdowns in three games or whatever it is. I mean, it's tough. It's tough to see other rookies. At the same position having success, But that doesn't mean that your guy's not going to turn out. I mean, look at Noah fan last year, it would have been easy for people to say, Well, TJ Hawkinson is clearing away the number one tight end in this class and through through six games. It's obvious that he's gonna have the better NFL career. And now it's kind of like, well, no offense has actually got a little something to say about that. He's been playing really well when he's on the field this year and so on. And even down the stretch last year when Hawkinson was heard and pant had kind of his many breakouts, So I think the same thing applies to Jerry. Judean. Get Drew lock out there consistently more than you know, two games. And let Jerry Judy's career develop has so many people thought that it would where he can be not only a great possession receiver but also Ah Big players year overtime. Lovett, Sir. Thank you so much for the time we really appreciate it has always been Yeah. Thank you guys. All right. Sounds good. Their bedroom with predominantly orange on one Twitter at Sayer Bensinger. The amount of people sort of turning on Jerry Judy right now is stunning. No, it's hilarious Issue. Same yahoos that we're trying to get rid of No offense at this point last year, when he only had to believe 120 yards 120 total yards. Georgie's got to 20 by the way. A this point given time, man. It's one of those things, you know. Are you making a judgment on somebody after at their five games? It doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any sense to me either, And it's a development position we knew was going to be a hell of a position. It's a chemistry position to because I I do feel like Jerry, Judy and drew lock. We're going toe. Ultimately make each other better. But that might come or later in the season or the off season. They might just have to have more time Then patients my padawan apprentice like that. Nice, all right. When we come back, we'll break down the Broncos Chiefs matchups that we're interested in..

"Fantasize. This continues on KNBR v sports leaders Welcome back into the F this podcast out of Oakland. Creative Tony ride. Let's talk some players. Let's talk about some players want to get into some of the draft strategy or the draft this year because on ly in one of my leagues in the L A D do I know where I pick? So, too? Do the draft lottery. What I did was I address this. Jeff Probst did a little video in my living room for Survivor theme. Anybody's a survivor fan video is pretty good. I'll crank some of the audio here. It's pretty funny Survivor. The tribe has spoken. That's the tribe has spoken, but he's you get a lot of like ticks. He does what he's setting up. The Survivor's been the most epic TV experiments in recent memory. Like he's got a cadence to him. You know what I mean? So anyway, so so we know our draft order a week before. I've got the third pick in the draft, which, by the way, try being the commissioner and ended up with the third pick. Yeah, I just in trash sash, Asami. I picked them all out of that. Yes, these are rather good. Doesn't matter. I don't care. I don't care if they're like she's in on him like she don't give a damn here doesn't get where I pick anyway, So I've got third pick now. This year, I think the same. I think it's it's one of the first times in awhile were the first three picks. Might be the same as they were last year. Yeah, McCaffrey say Quan Barkley and Zeke Elliott or my thoughts. Now I know 17 leagues depending on PPR, etcetera. Some people might air like Michael Thomas. Some people might air I know. Ah, I've seen I've seen like mock drafts where people are taken. Pat Mahomes in the top three, and I'm like, Whoa! Like a quarterback. Yeah. Hi. What do you think about what you think about the first round because it's top heavy. But once you get out of the first pick, there's a lot of differently or first three is a lot of different ways to go. Yeah, a couple of mark traps I've seen Have that McCaffrey Barclay, Zeke. On Ben? Yeah. The CA Mera. Michael Thomas Dalvin Cook. You know what's crazy is we talked about this guy off the air, and we must bring him to the table. Is the rookie at Ellis you Clyde Edwards Lair. Just going to take over the running back throne, which was an absolute disaster for the chief's last year, even though they wanted, you know, Lombardi. This guy's coming in and this mouth job I'm looking at right now on ESPN has, um, getting picked eighth. In the first round, and I don't know it. I think it's going to be heavy on running backs as usual per usual, but Michael Thomas is hard to not put Right there in the in the top five, right? A CZ. The first receiver picked Probably, um, but then you've got running backs like like Joe Mixon just signed a big deal at a good year. Last year. Is he going to raise is does this value rise up a little bit in the draft? Then you got Nick Chubb? On Derrick Henry. I like Derrick Henry almost as much as I like in Ezekiel Elliott. You know, And then there's a good There's good rookies out there. This year. I mentioned Clyde Evers, a lair. And then when you go down later in the draft, you know you got Jerry Judy got rugs, Couple good receivers. I yuk with the Niners, especially the Niners being so Ah! Ah, Heard of the wider secret position so I again first round running back strong and, you know, then, are there. Are there going to be tight ends that go early. Are Kelsey and kiddo. Gonna go early. Are they okay? What? They're going to go ahead of some wide receivers. I think Travis girls, you could go ahead of a lot of receivers. I think he's viewed as the number one. It's like we talked about with the 40 Niners a lot People were saying, You know, 40. Niners didn't necessarily go get a big number one this year in the draft, and there were the names you mentioned Rugs and Jerry Judean. People thought Maybe the Niners should go that route. And, of course, trading back into the bottom of the first round to take Brandon I you can. I think he's going to be a Ah, nice little piece, And I think when you think about the play calling for Kyle Shanahan having a weapon like that, in viewing him, maybe is the Emmanuel Sanders type and using a depot. Samuel is the one when they're both healthy. That could be a really appealing type offense, especially with their number one actually being your tight end in George Kendall. So the same thing happens with the chief. So what you're talking about with with the rookies, and I want to talk for a minute about client Edwards for Larry, you were just discussing Because last year at Alice, you and I think it's no surprise that this had to do with Joe Burrow. And I want to mention borough in a sec to Naidu Tio. He got 55 balls last year for L s u he had 450 yards receiving for Ellis. You know, he played 13 games a year before 15 games last year because they made it to the national championship. But not even close to the same number of receptions. And if I go back, and I'm looking at you, he had something like, I don't know. Fewer than 30 or 40 receptions two years ago, 55 last year for 450 yards. Obviously, the Kansas City Chiefs offenses like everybody there eats there like when you have Patrick Mahomes in the way that offense works there. They're insane. And that's why everyone's so high on Chelsea's Why, Even last year, the rookie McColl Hardman was kind of Ah, trendy, flex play a couple of different times. You remind me of a robbery. You remind me of a theory we had last year, by the way. Those are the last year drafted. Chief started. Chiefs Artichoke Achieve mocha chief. That's it. Get used to get yourself somebody in the Jeeva. Totally for God. Oh, dude. See, this is the problem. Too many chiefs in the off season, Right? And I think that short term memory had already gotten to many offseason cheeks. You need to get some in season. Which Sorry, Dude, I know you're You're 100% Dude, the chiefsoffense clips. It's like the theory we have on the murder and that show the Patriots win and cover at home. Except when you're facing Patrick Mahomes that Z because the chief's offense clips, so I like Clyde Edwards aware I'm nervous. I like. Look, I've never really shot away from rookies, but I think the best I ever did on like sniping. One out was AH Will fuller a couple of years ago came out a few big games to Notre Dame because he was such a burner with that with Shawn Watson. But shaking a rookie running back in the first round really makes me nervous, and I think he could be a crazy player. He could end up being what Karim Hunt was for them a couple of years ago when he was a rookie, and it was his first start out of Toledo. And think you fight a fumble this first snap and then went out for like 120 yards on Monday night football and that it was Patrick Mahomes coming out party, So I think we could very much see that, but if I drafted him In the first round. Any any tank dirty just did not work down. I think I'll kick myself hard for the number of players that are right there, especially on the come back because I think like you're saying he's probably there around 89 10. I think I would trust myself more if he were there with a player like Josh Jacobs. I like Josh Jacob's alive incinerator, So I think that's an option. You were talking about about rookies. The other one Joe Borough. I'm intrigued by Joe Burrow, Not because I think I think he's a project. I don't think he drafted to be. You're starting. Water back. I think you could take him. I think you can get decent value on him. But if I'm taking Joe Burro, I want to have another guy on my roster. Maybe a Phil Rivers may be a matched effort if you can get them high enough, But I think with the play calling from Zack Taylor, and he had a really, really I don't know. I thought it was. I thought they faltered at the end of the season that the Bangles offense early on, was kind of crafty. He's viewed a sort of this new Ah, like brilliant play collar in the way John McVeigh and the way Kyle Shanahan are sort of the young mind now, making things happen. Hey, had Andy don't have one of the top five passing seasons of his career. He threw a bunch of interceptions and ended up not playing a whole bunch of the end of the season. But I think Joe Borough is an intriguing player.

"I wish I would say Israel Casey for 1/7 round pick was an absolute steal again. A. J. Boyer think was absolutely huge. For the secondary. And then Bryce Callahan, which I think is an underrated God coming back from injury. Hayes had success with the big going back their days in Chicago. So I think that's really underrated team and I know they're in the same division chiefs and that's really The thing that everybody is chasing that division, but I really like what this team has on both sides of the ball. Yeah, There's the sense of cautious optimism here in Denver, Whether it's the Judy pick one that I wasn't necessarily skeptical of, But I was, You know, I was kind of pulling for Henry rugs I wanted that does the speed to keep up with Kansas City out here and Judy gets here and I finally get eyes on him. You know, off the tape, and you could tell. He's a great route runner on tape. But when you get eyes on him in person, this kid is unbelievable. The way that he can gear down the way that he understands the nuance of the position is far beyond the years of a guy was A rookie in the NFL, much less in his first training camp in the first week there of me, he today on a pass he he had all pro safety Justine Simmons on him and coverage. Simmons is playing the man, not the ball, and Judy recognizes this cells that he's going to continue the route deep and then stops on a dime to catch the ball right in the bucket. Justin could have played it any better, and Judy still set him up for it, and we've seen that all throughout cancer. I'm really excited about how this kid playing. He's going to play opposite court, son. As your servant. He was my top rank receiver in this job class, and actually, I went toe Duke and Alabama when they play live in the Georgia Don't last year. That was my first time. Actually, Last scout Jerry Judy, and he's a guy you could watch in warmups. And, you know, he just wanted a guy that looks different. That's the first thing that you can say about Judy just marble out of a person. He just makes those excruciating. Could the person that just like you? Probably with Terry, A Seattle A break an ankle If you try to make some of those moves that he makes, so I'm a big fan of Judea. Thank you. Compliments sudden and cage A handler really will Yeah, I wasn't even covered him and I think he broke my ankles. So we're goingto have to take a look at that getting M r. I see what's going on there. I don't know if you had a chance to scout Tyree Cleveland at all, but he has really shown up the third wide receiver. The Broncos drafted not a lot of people talking about him. Everybody's been talking about KJ. Everyone's been talking about Judy Tyree. Cleveland quietly has been out there catching everything for on his way, playing his way up up the depth chart, and I think he's going to surprise some people by making the 53 maybe getting out there and get some place this year. Yeah, And the funny thing about Tyrion that he had a really good senior boat last year, But nobody really talked about him just because he was a late addition and the area that he stood out the most. I'm a guy that just watches every single detail, especially that receiver. We're talking about the Senior Bowl, and that's really where I was able to discover terrible Lawrence because I didn't really know a whole bunch about him going to the senior Bowl. But man he was going for throttle in every single special teams drill entire equipment with a guy that was very reminiscent of that Now we didn't spend out a whole bunch in the receiver Jos and absolutely wasn't headliner name come into the event, but I'm like, man, This is a guy that could carve out a role. Most shootings. And then find his way off the bottom of the death star and then finds Williams to maybe, like being a third of fourth receiver for something that was a problem. So with you saying that, like that doesn't surprise me at all. Jordan. Let me ask you about going back to the offensive line for minute You mentioned that it's a question mark it offensive tackle, and we've seen a little bit about that out on the practice field last few days as we were watching both of hairballs whose I feel like there's some improvement there, and Elijah will cause they're working on the right side. Going to gets von Miller are those things that the Broncos can survive. As in you have a mobile quarterback that did a great job against the blitz last year did a great job against pressure, not a lot of negative plays. But at the same time, this is a young offense, and usually you wantto surround a young quarterback with a really solid offensive line. Is this something that you feel like after looking at those offensive tackles they can survive. Well, I will say this. I think they have the right guy in charge, and I'm talking about that's Turner in order to scheme around that, because when he was with the Vikings, I thought you put on a masterpiece. And I know he wasn't a very good head Coast but as far as a play caller I think he's one of the best National Football League. And that's why I'm so confident Andrew luck making that next up. Look, just because charmer I mean, he got the best out of case Keenum and then everywhere else. He has been as a play called and He's got the best out of the quarterback, and we know in Minnesota. They've never had the best offensive line, but They were able to have one of the most prolific years, maybe in almost franchise history basically been won one game away from the Super Bowl, so I think he's going to be able to scheme some quick passes to get the ball at the hands of Drew like very quickly to figure out ways to get comfortable. And then I think what the Broncos did a really good job of it is just getting died an unnatural separators and Jerry Judean Paging him just because if you remember coming out locks, big deficiency was justice, accuracy and his consistency with it, So they the way you combat that is just finding guys even after separated and being with Somers office. It depends a lot on that garbage. And that was some of the best guys in college last year Jerry, Judy and KJ. And so that's why I'm so confident this removable Yeah, I think I think it the nail on the head there, and it's definitely something that if you're a Pat Shurmur, watcher aficionado you recognize he loves those receivers that you know that maybe had a little running back in their backgrounds..

"That unnatural Separators and Jerry Judean Cage him because if you remember coming out lots of big deficiency was his accuracy and his consistency with it, So they the way you combat that is just finding guys that unnatural, separated and being with summer's often it depends a lot on yet garbage. And that was some of the best Yet guys in college last year Jerry, Judy and KJ Samba, So that's why I'm so confident in this team, movable Yeah, I think I get the nail on the head there, and it's definitely something that if you're a Pat Shurmur, watcher aficionado you recognize he loves those receivers that you know that maybe had a little running back in their backgrounds. They play well after the catch guys like Golden Tate, you know that they could do that and take the take that short dump off pass, take a quick pass and turn it into something. I think Judy's Ah, prime example of a guy who could do that, speaking of running bags, so Melvin Gordon and Phil Lindsey the one a one b out here, they're both. There's They're chopping the wraps up, they're splitting. He even is that the secret weapon for this Broncos team? The fact that they've got a strong 12 punch, It looks like the ground game. Yeah, I think so. And you know, Melvin Gordon has proven that he can be a guy that could be the bill cow in the back there, But I think with him now paired with Villa Lindsay's going to take a little bit of the load off of him. We know he has been the most lucky guy in the world, even going either going back to the days with the charges, so it was, I would say it was a bit of a surprise with them reaching out and actually signing never Nova going, especially Money that they did give out, But I think like with those two, I think that that's potential to be a really good 12 punch. Jordan rejoining us here from the draft network at J. Reed NFL last couple questions here for you, Jordan So looking ahead, and we're kind of, I think focused in on camp and focusing on the season. But you, of course, the draft network are always getting ready for the next draft. A lot of a lot of people out there covering the draft already, if you were thinking about what the Broncos Should be looking at in the first round. Let's just say they're somewhere in the mid teens, maybe pushing 20. Of course, A lot of Broncos fans are probably already throwing, throwing all sorts of things that the radio right now. Is that what you being? There will be 32. But Being realistic here. What? What would be available in that range that you think the Broncos should be targeting based on their needs in the roster? These two positions for me. I think it's offensive tackle. Obviously, it all depends on what happens with gear bowls this year. What if he stays on the track that he has been on? I think you have to figure out a way to address Off the tackle position, and there's gonna be pointing dies in the middle of the rounds were talking about Sandra Cause me from Texas. I think that's one name that they definitely will have in their wheelhouse. Alec Leatherwood from Alabama is another possible name. And that ranges will so I was a very deep on offensive tackle class right now, so they're gonna have the pick of the litter. If they want to address it that early, But cornerback I think that's another area that they could serve another body it and this group has absolutely loaded. You're talking about cable. Farley from Virginia Tech or probably end up going talk to you. I don't think the Broncos are going to be in that range. Jealous of the catastrophic happens, But you're talking about guys like Shauna Wade from Ohio State. I think that's a fair name to enter into the conversation. Tyson Campbell from Georgia goddess in a similar situation is Jeffrey Puto. As Faras straight standpoint, we just didn't have the ball production right now. Thank you. Name that's going to surgery board's very quickly and there's plenty of the guys here. Stokes, who was obstinate Tyson Campbell at Georgia and their possible Debo Stanford from Stanford. Another guy that a lot of people really excited to see if you can bounce back this year coming up, so I'm excited to see what they do, but I think Officer tackle and definite cornerback of the two positions that they should address. You mentioned. You don't think the Broncos will be picking in that range? Where do you project this? Broncos? Team? Two Go. Who put me on the spot. Ah, I would say, I think 20 to 25. I think that's a fair range for them, and I'm trying to temper my expectations just because they do have a second year quarterback and this is a new play caller. So Make like a little bit. Maybe they might start a little bit out of the gate. But I think the defense is going to help offense early on initially, just because there's so many new parts off that you have two new receivers on the perimeter. With handler and Judy. Of course who locks. You have to get the swing of things about Gordon. The new pieces. Well, you're probably gonna have a new center with Kushner Berry friends well, so there's a lot of moving parts offense and you guys are saying that practice Defense is always going to be ahead of the office every training camp around the league, but office usually hits the strike, probably midway through the beginning of the season. I think that's a fair for everybody so as long as the defense comes to play early on until the office catches up I think they could be in that 20 to 25 range. Last one here for you, Jordan. Was he almost every single day, another college player declaring for the NFL draft. Are we just seeing a bit of the tip of the iceberg? You expect this to be kind of a bit of a cascade as we inch closer to the fallen into the spring? Or do you think it's just going to kind of this steady trickle in and the decision that ultimately goes in for these college players do I mean is there a reason in your mind that these guys should go back and play college for another year? It just depends on where you are projected to go in the draft, and I think it's your 1st 2nd round guy going into the preseason. I don't think there's any reason we should play this. You just because you sit out there's no way for the same on your resume. But if you're a guy, this fight Enter the top 100 or the person second round discussion. Obviously, you should play this year, but I mean, I have plenty of big names that are probably going to break news here over the next few days, and then there's just some guys that are still waiting to see what happens if they do end up playing. This year, But there's going to be big names coming out, especially next week. And then the week after that, so he's gonna be in shit to see what happens. You've already seen from guys over the past few days about I think Jake to stay late with a difference of tackle from USC and staged a riot. He's a liar, Stevens from wait for us to big name, and there's going to be some others as well in the company. Very good stuff is always Jordan. Thank you so much for the time this evening. No problem thing guys.

"Jet in giant picks and also also including you and I both have some history behind us I wanted to ask I don't remember until pretty recently that the common fan like us us folks knew how important the offensive line was I used to hear only about what they now call the skill positions but the first I ever became aware that offense of line with such a big thing and especially left tackle was when the jets picked at the British I guess that was in six and once you have that impression to that back in the olden days it wasn't that much discussed or sort of about the absence of falling for him no on the contrary I think you know for any of us who kind of grew up listening to John Madden he's certainly put the trenches first and foremost what yes I understand what you're saying because most fans of course all of this we're following the football watching football on TV or even in person but van made it clear in all the years that with Pat Summerall that all the years that those two were broadcasting football games and I add to this day you know taking nothing away from Chris Collinsworth as an analyst or anyone else you can think of Madden was just the best and what he made clear was how important it was to have a good offense of line and good defense of why because he thought the game was going to be one of the line of scrimmage on either side of the football so I think for quite a number of years now long time and thank you for the call I think of all of us who are football fans of any team know that if you're winning the battle of the trenches you're winning the football game and he had some great offense of linemen with the raiders art shell gene Upshaw Jim motto the senator who had no knees whatsoever by the time he retired and certainly no matter who was quarterbacking especially Kenny Stabler he had all day to look at look at look at look at that throw I do a Clarence Davis or Fred Biletnikoff so the bottom line is that the offense of line so important and I think as I've been saying throughout the evening because of the jets getting backed in a right after we came on at ten o'clock I mean that's a home run to me I mean you just and was considered to be the best of all the offense of tackles I believe it was six taken in the first round I think of that I think a number of giants fans disappointed not away it's been mixed to be honest with you on this program but I think a lot of giants fans were disappointed that at number four they took the fourth highest rated or offensive lineman who does have some very high marks of preventive fails counts we have read a few of those comments from NFL executives and NFL scouts about Andrew Thomas and he may work out to be just terrific so add up again with the the jets you know that day he should be starting and will be starting right away inspected and so will L. Vander Thomas there's no question about that he'll B. starting as well for the new Yorker football giants have probably replacing Nate soldier more sooner than later let's go to mark holding from Westchester and mark your underpants all right well anyway we'll take a quick break no we're not gonna take a quick break well Michael let me ask you this and by the way let me throw out the telephone number one eight seven seven three three seven six six six six have been meaning to ask Michael Fluegel meant a diehard jets fan I think I have no idea what you're thinking about what Joe Douglas did in the first round you know listen I am happy with the tech maybe I would I would have gone with one of the safer tackles which could be worse and he was there when the jets picked eleven but I'm very happy with it as much as I love Jerry Judean CD lamb.

"A five one forty at the scouting combine in February he was a three year starter for the cardinals twenty one games at left tackle twelve on the white side and the huge body long arms making a punishing run blocker the athleticism means that dean does damage downfield he needs to refine his game and not rely too much on that side going to the New York Jets head pick number eleven both local teams of beefing up that offense of line the New York Giants at for not trading down either getting Andrew Thomas if you wanna join us last fifteen minutes and react to both with what the jets and giants stayed eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six of the forty Niners on the clock now with about three and a half minutes left and I know that they were looking into wide receivers as well I Henry Ruggs just goes to the Las Vegas raiders and now we'll see if the San Francisco forty Niners go wide receiver with Judy or CD lamb and rugs Henry Ruggs there in an old spice bathrobe with his raiders had on so that's quite the look here on draft day but that's the point like which guy was going to be the most creative not a no if this is all that creative but it is different yeah it's it's certainly yes yes so I don't fill you said that you like Henry Ruggs you said that he was the fastest receiver out there and he was a guy that can take the ball and take it you know to the house you could break some tackles and certainly I think Jon Gruden agreed with you I think we are put fill back up is probably talking but we can't hear him if we could just put him back up with the the phone pocket is he still there at hello there you also have yeah I was gonna say Palestinian I would think his favorite guy at wide receiver was Henry Ruggs because he can go over the middle short passes all those play actions over the middle they run that would be the guy was probably count on and it wouldn't surprise me to separate the schools try to trade out of this spot and if they stay in there that could do a couple things could take a corner but it you know I I look at wide receiver even now giovane kid long from South Carolina to replace divorce Buckner what's that that's the other one but they also lost you know Sanders to free agency to the same yeah right so have a need there and the question is is there going to be a trade here yes is were under two minutes now and don't have a pick and yet let's go to Dan and White House who wants to talk to giants pick what's up Dan Hey how are you all right what's happening this is embedded stopper Moscow what's up no Hey John I don't know what to hell after their go ahead John it's all right god I know that you guys needed and I wanted to get an alignment here's my issue with Gettleman the clown and the guy we picked okay I get it you know right no one knows the people be good but here's the thing this kid got a high floor low ceiling you know what that tells me how common immediately imply but will never be great you know what I mean which is which are kind of like white pigment for to me I wish we could have if we could traded down back back it looks like you could take part at the worms the knapsack Gettleman what you don't want what is that cutting is left behind at the end over there you know why well gonna bark when he realized he made a mistake yeah he's got to be careful now listen John I I get if you don't like Dave Gettleman now I'm not going to get on him for I try to be healthy especially going through cancer we do have a trade here the Buccaneers have traded with the forty Niners Sir Tom Brady and rob Gronkowski and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers yeah those Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now on the clock forty Niners right yeah you would think that works that's why they're caught up in trying to get a scholarship things fill you think that's what the the Buccaneers are trying to do here I guess fills also were not there okay filter filter you know what you gotta do is your did you have still locked in when we were taking the calls as prior would we we we forgot to do they all right it's okay let's go to billion Rocklin was going on daily yeah you guys are good players shell I don't use patch for think just the guy was judged the judge step is three hundred fifty thousand how much he got away with like twenty to thirty I was like after the engine okay yeah I know but I would need soldier last year was horrible so you tell me this guy's got a little bit of play right tackle and you gotta keep center there well actually would Joe judge said right after was that enter Tom is going to come in and compete at both positions so you know whoever they deem is the better left tack on an eight sold arranger Tom if you don't play left tackle let me just say one thing here you know that the fact that this offense of white socks you know what I'm sick of that but the quarterback you can make everybody better and the second year of a mobile quarterback and Daniel Jones will make everybody better I don't want to hear about this guy sucks that guy sucks on there's a reason why they sold or was pro a pro ball player up there in New England you know yeah he protected Tom Brady Tom Brady get rid of the football you know where to go he was accurate he was in front of the people's heads I mean she's a step I do people understand how this is all going to work it works when you have a guy back there that knows what he's doing and who is athletic and who is young and who gets rid of the ball and and Daniel Jones will be that kid as we grow with him as fans and as as analysts and now it's his team it's all his team and it's up to him to make everybody better that's why you draft the guy number six overall of that position you know he'll take the pressure off of everybody then they sold there's a hell of a football player and I'm sick and tired here comes all he sucks you know what the people around him suck sick and tired of hearing it welcome back Phil boomers gone off the deep end lawyers okay you know what I was just forgot cut off I heard it was a state of the giant pick stupid you this that and look I think he's got there right with three first round picks the Buccaneers here's the picture the box back rice on behalf of our country the San Francisco forty Niners have traded the thirteenth pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the thirteenth pick in the twenty twenty NFL draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Tristen Worf's tackle Iowa so they got right tackle yep yep they did pretty obvious the things off the ground the four tackles one into the top thirteen facts you know and and for idiot fans out there that don't understand that this is how you build a freaking football team this is what it's all about everybody wants okay the high flying wide receivers got this is my doctor but you know the the the the box definitely needed a tackle and they needed a right tackle so man what else is Tom Brady so good at all yeah well you know you think interesting thing is O. J. Howard wants to be traded now and Jason like their GM said women I'm not treating him well we got it we got a helluva tied in ROW my what I want to trade him you know you can't count on Crocker and all that stuff and also you know G. Howard is better doubly bitter disappointment the first couple years of his career and you know he's a great blocker down the Alabama but they he wasn't what I would call a great receiver and you know it's just not that tight end you know nowadays we expect a tight in the run down the field like we see with some of these guys and Travis Kelsey George Kittle yeah don't you think don't you think that Tom Brady will have the effect if OJ stays there on O. J. Howard that paid Manhattan Julius Thomas well Julie Thomas was you know he was a wide receiver tight end played Denver he disappeared from him again yes because he couldn't log but he gets the ball and never use in the right way in a what a traditional tight end you know you don't know O. J. Howard get away because you got a good blocking tight ends in the you know course we although that's important and he's a guy in three tight ends on a team that's the definitely not too many yeah this is not in this yeah and you don't rock is not going to play but fifty percent of the place they didn't want to jump out of the poll yeah oh my gosh I think it is a lucky played well and of course he went to the combine is jumping their money and everything like that was really this it was off the charts for an offense of linemen and that's what just kind of took him over the top ten at email four while even Bobby that he might be one of the top five guys picked the engine thing we have we have about five minutes left before we get off the air but I would say the biggest yeah I guess the surprises thus far is is Andrew Thomas and number four for the giants Henry Ruggs with the raiders over Jerry Judean CD lamb and it and then I guess I guess would you say Isaiah Simmons to the cardinals I don't think anybody any one of us thought that he would end up there no we don't give us Carolina maybe the the Los Angeles Chargers that's probably where I thought he might go or whatever so you know I I do it every year you know just watch these guys the other talent and we never know what you're thinking all these teams they start rumors you don't people probably have told used up boomer that's just totally not true but they don't you gonna talk about it because I don't play that game NGO nuns I don't play that game I could just tell you something they tell you that you don't know they're not telling you the truth I only listen to you because I believe you tell me the truth well I try to if you you know what it is I trust you I really do I think you are the best I think you want the best for the players that's what I honestly but I do and you know I try to be fair when I watch him there's Bruce Arians all boy let's see you well I was gonna say is probably enjoy them here's the San Francisco forty Niners pick I believe no no never mind we don't have that yet so that that take is not in yet as we wait let's get a couple guys in here and then waiting to get some reaction the jets and giants go to Mike in Dumas what's going on Mike a former G. O..

A. live from southern California this is the world show on CBS sports radio welcome to the jungle my name is Jim Rome doing some gratitude feel grateful gratitude grateful because I'm very happy to be at work doing my thing along with the X. R. forty I you know I seven California based duty owes and if you want to partake you go right ahead you don't need to do with Vic just did you don't need to call up a five minute call and come in and light in the entire region of the country on fire and kill some guy's been nothing but good for the program we can't if you want I'm also here for that do what you want with the platform to which one of the form one eight hundred six three six eight six eight six it's not a program is brought you by rocket mortgage by quicken loans rocket mortgage is with you every step of the way to provide a seamless mortgage experience okay so as part of our programming during this time we've been on the air since this all went down and there are no games are no match ups there's not a lot to talk about I promised you a good show every single day I promise you fresh content every single day I promise you I've never laid up get lazy and coming here with things like the mount Rushmore reply back old shows I said I will come out a different way so and we are and I'm proud of the work we're doing it's great to be here something that I've done and I've done a couple of times so you're not getting a steady diet of it but we're doing deep dives we'll take a look back something happened that was big not only in sports but on the show so we did a deep dive on Brett Farr and we did a deep dive on Tiger Woods I want to do a nother one right now in which makes him in you know we did two in one week this is the only one we've done this week but I want to give me a hand in that you've heard me promote already I'll give you a hint as to who these deep data dives about and let me give you this hand and the form of roughly twelve seconds from this show back in the day I mean that's owned by the monthly dom I remember the last time I got on the air look into a camera said man you know what that guy's dumb but that guy is dumb right so there is your hand talk about a guy that is dumb Alaina fathom mumbly dhamma not very often I look into a camera and say Hey that guy that guy is dumb so there's your hand not much talking about a dumb guy not just any dumb guy but as I mentioned to a guy who is on father moblie dharma one of the dumbest people ever so when you think about all the time commies who comes to mind by Jon Gruden is not a dumb guy but he said some really dumb things Jon Jones has done a lot of dumb things urban Meyer has said and done a lot of dumb things but today's guy can be summed up in a single piece of sound Jia a war that was made up by pound for pound one of the biggest jokes ever arguably the dope goat Ryan Lochte E. and if you're wondering how to pronounce Jia well Ryan is more than happy to help you with that yeah the really put that evidence on the J. that Jay in the that's the key part and then the H. colleges hello they say that J. J. L. J. E. A. H. if you say it like how it's spelled it G. but boring so here's a so a different dude and by different I mean dom it all makes this guy tick here's a simple explanation from a locked himself and what makes him Laki what defines me Ryan Lochte well why didn't you say so right so it's be very clear about one thing this guy is a great swimmer by twelve time Olympic medalist which is among the most Olympic medals of all time at last count he had ninety medals in international competitions so a knowledge that he was a great swimmer the knowledge that but never forget this he's also a gold medal more on Ryan love to tell everybody there was so much more to him than just swimming and then he went to Rio the twenty sixteen Olympics anyone on the back it all up this dude walked his stupidest walk dumb as walk ever dumbest walk ever but because as I said on his radio show only four years back it was also one of the greatest moments ever what a mess we still don't know exactly what happened but I know this if it's anywhere near what's being reported right now you could take all the great moments in Olympic history Jesse Owens in thirty six Bob Beamon long jumping in sixty eight the miracle on ice roll them all together and they still don't top this rocky in twenty sixteen if this is true is and always will be the greatest moment for me in Olympic history it's great to hear me back in the day I can't get enough of me so that moment began in August of twenty sixteen Ryan Lochte E. Gunnar Bentz Jack conger and James Fagan all went out for a night on the town to celebrate the end of the indoor swimming events according to an interview that locked the did with Billy bush on the beach in Rio this is what happened near the end of the night as the group was on its way back to the Olympic village Hey guys no lie they're not like G. check out Ryan Lochte E. American gangster he's in a foreign country in this bad **** is not getting down on the ground for anybody what a legend not only that but notice he made sure to tell you that the other three guys that he was with those weenies were kissing the concrete but not locked the he was like Rambo so the guys with the badges and the guns had to turn up the heat they had to take it a step further I got the money I want myself this dude this dude these guys feeling the cold steel of a Glock pressed to his forehead and his reaction is whatever hell yes I love this dude U. S. Hey you S. U. S. U. S. A. when an American hero what a universal bad **** kicking the world's **** in the water and then saying whatever when a gun is pressed to his forehead like that's all you got that's all you got you've only got a gun I'm not impressed show me an RPG or a surface to air missile hello why don't you roll a freaking tank through here maybe then I'll be impressed probably not because Laki don't blink she and then the story got out and then the reaction was insane course because one of the concerns going into the Rio Olympics was crime or the potential for crime and not only was that a crime but that was a crime that we carried out against one of most famous athletes in the world so people are freaking out locked the release a statement on Twitter the region part quote I want to thank all my family friends and fans for the overwhelming support and concern that I received today well it is true yeah my teammates and I were the victims of a robbery early Sunday morning what is most important is that we are safe and unharmed end quote I'm telling you my guy my duties like Michael Phelps Mike Tyson J. Sanborn and John wick all rolled into one badass except there were some holes it started to appear in that story such jazz the fact that the Brazilian police say they could not find the taxi driver or any witnesses and that lock D. and another swimmer could not describe the taxi did they were in or where the incident happened or the time of day that it happened and then there's the fact that the robbers did not take his cell phone or his jewelry remember it was a robbery right so that made him either the biggest bad **** ever or it made them the worst robbers ever and the fact that locked in the other swimmers did not report the incident to anybody after it happened what about that locked explained out by saying he wanna tell anybody because he didn't want to get into trouble but then he signed a statement saying that his version of the events were true meanwhile he bounced he fled the country leaving is three bodies to fend for themselves talk to the cops and answer to his bull crap story then he started back pedal he admitted that the gun had not been pressed on his forehead which is waved in his direction he said they were not stopped at a traffic stop but at a gas station do I mean damn lucky don't let you know the facts get in the way the best or you ever it was that as we go to break and I'm more on this but as we go to break here a few tweets from back in the day and they're just as awful as you remember them the tweet a horrible now and they.

"Strains the nationwide right here on CBS sports radio eight five five two one two for CBS and this guy will always brighten spirits she is one of my favorite C. is one of the best NFL guys you're gonna find in the business said despite all the craziness going on in the world in our country in a lockdown my city New York very much under siege we welcome in one of my all time favorites Charles Davis over Fox Sports who is nice enough to join us to talk some NFL football Charles I hope you hang it how are you good Sir Hey JJ hang in there and like I know everyone else is in my my best out everyone right now those who were dealing with it those who are hoping to keep it at bay like we are and I hope everyone is is safe as they possibly can be and we'll fight through the other side do you think will happen to go through right now no doubt Charles and I ask you before we get into all this NFL stuff what has been for you the best way to pass the time that you would net Flix guy have you been working out a lot more you've been cooking like what has been vice to kind of get you through this locked down in quarantine one I think reading for me that that's kind of the number one there's plenty of television don't get me wrong going to Netflix route doing all those things but I love to read and it's a great time but get a draft coming up as well so it better be spent a fair amount of time on that too I don't want my players thank them slacking on the whole thing even though I have to say I can't imagine for any of us out there right now it's it's it's an easy slog you know that we can keep our mind that we were supposed to keep it on especially now with our our our our our fellow people are going through people who are helping them I can't imagine the first responders the people at the hospital the doctors the nurses all the technicians everyone is involved in this thing try to help out my goodness those those are heroes in the option to buy best out to them let's all chant kitten bought I've talked to a lot of first responders being here in New York City and you would not believe how for so many of them the idea of the NFL going through free agency the idea of the NFL going through with the draft even though it's very different even though it's on remote it allows them that escape and I know I'm in that same boat and I'm so thankful for all these doctors and nurses and you know our law enforcement of firefighters you name it I mean I'm sure I'm leaving out so many different groups but I think the draft going on is is it's going to be this great distraction I know it sounds silly you know we're talking about two one borrow we're talking about Jerry Judean city land but shows it's the sort of thing that kind of puts a smile on our faces yeah it does ruined and you know for for many people when discussing the sort of thing that we've gone through it before in other ways right you member after nine eleven how fast people wanted sports to get back right remember the ovation for then mayor Giuliani and for president George W. bush we clear out the first pitch you know it is a series game or playoff game whatever that was Paul ecstatic to bring us some sort of eight called normal may be asked what it was an idea that we try and throw some think it as you said a distraction and I know with this first thing started this whole thing started I know some people were saying Hey this is gonna be a verbal protests that we talk about these kind of salaries at the time the people get laid off their jobs because their business is all those things I like you I've heard some of that but for the most part occurred the opposite we'll know that in our business in our world these people make a lot of money I don't think people spend a lot of time worrying about that as much as wow I keep getting my teeth kicked well the draft go on and I think that helps release but the right call because JJ if the if the NFL had been on the field at this time it would be off the field just as the NHL's off the ice again B. as off the court baseball never got to go on the diamond MLS get off the pitch all of that would have happened the NFL's been fortunate in terms of typing in in their small way keeping things going it's actually been good for a lot of people's homes for the people to keep going with their offseason in a way that doesn't impact the rest of the world in a negative way hi Charles on a much lighter note let's get to some football Brady he leaves the patriots under the jet fans with dancing under the bill France with dancing I know I was dancing when I found out as a dolphin fan first off how surprised were you that he left the patriots number two I look at the fit and temple I think it's a great fit I think he's got to top notch receivers he's got two tight ends he's got a coach I love improves Syrians the defense is better than you think so the shock at all Brady leaving New England and then his fate as a whole now with the Buccaneers we'll start with the second part I I think that you hit the fit very well for him new challenge reinvigorate all those things and it's a dangerous game to play well this is what James did last year a badger what Tom's going to do this year but it's the only game we can play the J. Jack so if you just save yourself if James working thirty interceptions last year you immediately cut that in half and then maybe a little bit more than that for Tom Brady right so that's how many extra possessions they become before wishing thirteen this quarter horse what six hundred points last year anyway you like to think that what you're going to see hope to continue to be five flying explosive why I'm like Bruce Arians out thank you just won't smoke I think Tom Brady's got plenty of our bluffed about worried about that part at all and he will just you with his personnel is and he's got some guys go down feel to go get it so it's going to be fun to watch if they still in the back into that defense with Todd Bowles and get a full year at J. P. P. you know with that of course Shaq Barrett out before that the same staff members but he still played very well for them and right on down the line yes they're going to conduct a they're going to be a very tough team in a very tough out member they lost but they were seven nine and lost six games last year there were one score games again with Tom Brady do you expect to lose six games that a one score games dancers now so so optimism is high if everything remains the same L. content the NFC south that part is great but yes I was surprised going with JJ actually what I thought when it was all said and done they would find a way to keep it turned out I was wrong we got two great Charles Davis from Fox Sports going over some NFL offseason still forget to draft in a minute all right CD now for the patriots it looks like Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer for now do you now see the patriots drafting a quarterback do you think they look to work hand morning dean at the Dalton how do you see it shake it out when we hit the start of this year god willing in September what the future quarterback is going to be and men those are big shoes to fill I mean that's like filling the shoes of Derek Jeter at shortstop for the New York Yankees but Hey that's a great example Charles because we saw Didi Gregorius come in and play great and he kind of made his own mark so how do you see the future at quarterback shaking up for a franchise like the patriots that still has the great Belichick well they usually fill from within you know and they haven't had to do much of that especially at that position but the only thing we can go off of was the season opening injury to Tom Brady that year I has been our politburo in Kansas city in the season opener and Matt Cassel who many people say Matt Cassel mac apple mac also came up bench one eleven five and in a really weird situation they don't make the playoffs it's just a record of everything so yeah that's typically what they do not make a figure and tell you that Stidham gonna do that or or what was going to do that I don't know Hey it is it's a tough reached out because they've got a lot of other changes as well when you look at the rest of the roster there's a lot of guys who've exited that maybe we didn't expect that to happen to but do you ever bet against bill Belichick filling in probably not but if your buffalo you should be the odds on favorite AFC east and you don't have those your business now I don't know when you do it but I also think that on the flip side they will look at other quarterbacks member they drafted people before Cooper was a second round pick okay they've drafted guys but none of them really beta bark where was undrafted he's probably done as well there's anyone besides capsules will begin the city went to the playoffs one year so bottom line is a look at someone I don't see can do not to sit there I I just don't I I mean for some reason I can't do it bill Belichick I just can't put that together my brain I think yeah more for the Chargers Janus Winston attentively you know it's one of those things where you have someone that could do the reclamation project it y'all he works hard you never hear about that people like him in the locker room just can't figure get that turnover situation harms JJ conceptually of opportunities to do that no down I mean the great enigma right as joyful as prison guards he throws thirty touchdowns but reason he's not gonna stick around Tampa Bay it's two fold it's Tom Brady and when you turn over thirty plus times coach is looking for new quarterbacks okay CD before we get to the draft and you know I'm fired up about that you're the draft guru I mean for years this is bring your baby so anytime I have you on and your guy should draft gets me fired up with the team so far in free agency that has wowed you who in your opinion is been the biggest winner books aside when it comes to NFL free agency while local Cleveland is gone and I feel like we talked about them in off season for a few years now haven't we J. Jack with it made really good moves and prove their roster they did it again Jack Conklin at right tackle that's a big get for them in L. A. and and I just love what they're doing and trying to fill in spaces in trying to bring in more guys who can play it already was a good roster it is needed guidance and and and and people there to help take it to the next level that's what gives the fans is there as the head coach that's why it is there's this new GM I think buffalo's done a nice job the five digs is a big get for them what I'm if you're what I'm eager to watch though if the five digs in this young quarterback because we can explain away a few things along the way in Minnesota but are we have a we're not as dumb as we look right there obviously issue Christopher hi Dicks thought that Kirk cousins what get them the ball the way he should have been and there was friction how you gonna treat this young quarterback has this young quarterback and be able to take a stand if he needs to that would be something that will keep an eye out by think buffalo's done well it is the dish itself it's been fun to watch the teams try to get themselves better in this offseason it's also been strange to see guys make moon and then find out those are taking I thought the Michael Brockers to Baltimore was a fantastic gold class Campbell guess what does and doesn't work out he's gone back to Graham with a better contract we just heard about marquis Christian today supposed to be going to the jets he's gonna end up returning back you know with that dark was did art was supposed to go into the Jaguars that doesn't work out even though it was said that it was going to that's been a weird off that we're part of the offseason for BJP part of those guys make their book you make your move in you getting it done part of that is the virus that we have is what's going on because the the physical guard because of the way we want to so many things going into a place but a fun free agents but topics created if on top of the off season all right CD let's get to the draft in the team to me that's going to be front and center I'm not just saying this because a reform they got three first round picks and there in the market as far as I'm concerned to go get themselves a quarterback that is the Miami Dolphins who made the fits Patrick trade who made the tonsil trade who did great work over the final nine games with a bunch of undrafted guys were Brian Florez do you look at the quarterback position for them C. D. and almost label it too well or bust I kind of find myself in that category because I see Joe borough ending up in Cincinnati yeah and I know Herbert is wowing people right he could throw the country mile he is as athletic as can be when I watched him at Oregon CD you know this factor I knew what my quarterbacks Wilson has.
