"I've got jerry jeudy on my list as well so we could just tackle both of those same time. there are a lot of things around the broncos that make it. It could be a pretty decent team at drew. Lock is obviously the problem. But we've seen quarterbacks be really bad and then in their second or third year make it make a big step forward so if drew lock was somehow an average. Nfl quarterback this year and devante williams. Unseats melvin gordon. Early in the year williams is probably a top twenty running back. Jerry jeudy is probably a top twenty five wide receiver. And i m wishing that i didn't have either of them ranked solo would. Do you have judy. Right ahead of sutton. No i'm worried onto low on judy right. I get that do you also your though on sutton not as much because you think judy upside. I think judy has more raw talent than courtland sutton i think. He has the type of profile. Where if everything went right for jerry. Jeudy he could legitimately earn one hundred. Forty one hundred fifty targets no matter who else is on the team. Because he's just the best guy he could lead the nfl in receiving. That's how good he is. That's how good of a runner is despite what we saw last year. I think his hands are still very good. We'll know real soon this year. If he still dropping passes all over the field. But i think he he's. He was an award winner in college. He can do that again in the pros. But i think having locked at the quarterback would be a big problem last year. Katie does have the skill set. That would allow him to do that. Here's what i think is different from compared to some of those teams that maybe didn't have stout supporting cast as we've seen katie in golden state or even oklahoma city. I think he understands the magnitude of the mona moment. And quite honestly if jason. Tatum can get you fifty to allow a boston. Celtics squad get a victory versus the brooklyn nets with two of their three superstars on the court. I believe that katy does have the superstar caliber dna that he can help. Elevate this team to that moment. And furthermore beyond that. I don't know that. I trust the bucks that much that it is out of the realm of possibility. A single game have kevin durant can do that for you. He has that caliber talent. Now the series. That's a different story. Because i do think the bucks Can continue to make adjustments and make it very difficult for him but my good friend just intensely at the undefeated has this mathematical equation for playoff series. Two one one into being your superstar has to hear you and get those two wins. And then you're supporting cast that one in one. If kawhi leonard for the clippers. I think kevin durant can get it done for the brooklyn nets not that. It's an easy task but one game. I think he can give me that. Joe flacco brennan allen and drew lock. You can't ask them to do more to acl. terry had yeah. It's unfortunate but this isn't one of those things that's going to. I mean we see tons of players. Tear their acl especially early in their career and come back just as strong. You saw that with allen robinson. It wasn't like oh he. He tore his acl so he's no good anymore. No he's absolutely fine. He still the one hundred percent leader of the locker room. I was trying to read up more today about what's going on and vic fangio talking about in the workout rooms. This is the guy leading everybody. He is the one right now. Who's already at you know. He's he's participating in in. Ot as his he's going to be hundred full gopher training camp and he's a player who really showed the ability on nfl field. Unlike jerry jeudy who showed promise showed hope but we know for sure courtland sutton can do it and you want to know what's a really good quality to have around drew lock really good hands You really wide catch radius. Tested catch ability. Courtland sutton can do. I think he is a true alpha wide receiver in the nfl. He's a prototypical. Six foot three type of guy who we've seen be awesome. Thomas city damaris. Thomas was his role model. You got drafted to his team. They kicked him out and remember to marry his thomas He came in took a couple years to get going because of injury and then was good with tim tibo and when he got a superstar quarterback was a world beater. So there's the upside aaron rodgers. come to town. aaron rodgers I just think when. I'm looking at courtland sutton. He's the clear on this team. Jerry jeudy is not supplanting him. He's gonna lead targets he's gonna lead in yards is gonna lead touchdowns so yeah. It does come down to does that. Matter is drew. Lock good enough or is teddy bridgewater. Good enough and i would say yes. Teddy bridgewater sustained two thousand yard receivers almost three last year. We may different system but just saying a he he can. He can get the job done. So i think courtland sutton is a is a great value. Because he's not being drafted as if he broke out in as a young star wide receiver but he he did break out in a young star wide receiver and he's being drafted like he can't he'd like he doesn't have that upside. So that's where. I am on courtland sutton i imagine that. The broncos defense will be better than the vikings defense this here. I imagine they will be near the same. Godwin and i think it's important that people recognize that he is these same great wide receiver that just had a year of disruption. And when you go and look you know. All of last year. His his seventeen game pace was ninety two receptions for eleven hundred ninety two yards and ten if you go from week ten on which is when the offense got it together and he was back out there on the field. And antonio brown's there it was ninety for twelve sixty two and twelve. He was one of the most heavily targeted red zone wide receivers and football in fact his teammate was one of the only ones more targeted in the red zone but he was the eighth highest red zone wide receiver in all of football miss some time scored each of the last three weeks and really brought the fire when you weren't you know you might have been out because he didn't have them earlier in the year you just weren't you know riding the high of chris godwin and the important thing is to remember. This is the same physically physically gifted wide receiver. Brady's quarterback rating when targeting and was one hundred and thirty one point seven that's a fifth highest football. Little bit tyler. Lockett ask when it comes to like the wilson lucky connection fourth-highest catch rate among wide receivers. And there's some question about courtland sutton coming off of an injury himself. So i do think that there's there's some risk that needs to be baked in and that's what that wide receiver thirty four. Adp tells you but there's still top fifteen upside sutton wouldn't be one of my favorite break bounce back candidates but he's a good one dave i've draft thing to mock drafts of maybe two or three mock draft so we done I i tend to gravitate towards sutton in this range this roster for denver could be also. I mean the defense. They've rebuilt it. You know the secondary looks fantastic offensive. Line looks really good. I didn't think gordon is fine at the running back spot. You know mike. Boone could be just as good as phillip lindsay. We don't know. I'm going to say no but there's still a chance for him to be in that type of role as the second running back there. We know. The receiving corps would just listed. The names looks pretty special. If those guys live up to those expectations but the quarterback play is something. I think that a lot of people are concerned about even if it is a rookie and i think a lot of people are mocking. Trae lance to the broncos depending on how things go so does the quarterback change things for portland side nor is it just more of injury situation. Let me let me remind everybody in twenty nineteen when sutton was getting past us from ju- lock. He had a fifty four percent catch rate. That's ugly here's the good news. He averaged targets per game with drew. Lock nah i was in two thousand. Nineteen there was no jerry. Jeudy noah fant was rookie. Then and i don't know how much lock is really progressed. Since then but i think that sutton could still be that number one target. At least to begin the air. He's very athletic but he's a little raw certainly experienced but if he goes into training camp endeavor say he goes to denver with the number nine pick and he plays well and adapts. Drew lock will be three interceptions away before trae lance goes in there and i would love to see this offense with somebody like trae lance under center because we've seen it with drew lock under center. It makes me a little bit nervous to count highly on any broncos pass catcher so i like sutton really love getting them as a number three receiver really hope that he comes back from the acl. Getting that the court and scoring points off turnovers It was a real problem is going to say it was problem for the nuggets and the bubble but you know it was a problem for everybody in the bubble. Because that's how the lakers operate. They're very good defensive. Team the best defensive team And so cutting your turnovers down. We'll cut down the transition opportunities for the lakers. And now if you can start to limit their of their opportunities and transition now you can You know buckle down and play defense on them and the half court.
