"You're listening to America first with doctor G. welcome back friends the cold bodies absolutely following thing I gave out the number yet poorly and not go Jerry Davis of fine don't go anywhere but first things first we have a group of people that I don't think get enough attention and praise right now yes we talk about the nurses the first responders the caregivers and god bless every single one of them but what is the life line all of our nation one of the arteries that keep us alive it is of course the truck is out there that are bringing us everything we need to survive and as such I am delighted to have the executive vice president of the American trucking associations with us the federation of American trucking associations Mr belt Solomon welcome to America first thank you very much to bashing glad to Beyonce tell me I'm just curious and start with this question went when you bump into people who aren't familiar with what trucking does for America how well do do that does the average American understand the importance of your members to the functioning of our nation you know that's a great question because it's really easy to take the take those that you love and depend on for granted I think that that we have groups that represent the American trucking associations are members who run around to schools municipalities to participate in all sorts of things and so when when we're interacting with the public people absolutely understand that trucking is the glue that holds communities together yeah in twenty nine states it is the most common job wanted sixteen working Americans isn't talking three and a half million truck drivers on the sixteenth that's incredible so it's a it's a job you can't go off shore you know in the end solid economic times it's one of the best players out there even if you don't go to college so for young men and women and older men and women who are willing to work hard it's possible to have a six figure salary in about some but obviously the higher end but the median salary of fifty six thousand dollars so it's it's really poor economically but it also eighty percent means Newcastle are served only by truck yeah and so the food to fuel and all the things we rely on I we're certainly heartened and at you know I feel a little bit guilty because I don't drive a truck under somebody's trying to help provide the resources with governments with policy makers but let me just say that people have been wonderful during the crisis and the attention paid to making sure the stocks that are on the shelves that things are moving are good also to hope that we can be a calming influence there are many months supply of food and staples and so that no one's on stores and the and knocking down the fear a little bit and everybody just sort of black women and doing what Christ masses do and pull together to get past this we're talking to bill Sullivan executive vice president of the American trucking associations you can follow them at truck it's on Twitter trucking dot org and that's dot as D. O. T. we have an I'm biased I know some of the best call is in national radio and amongst them man when those truckers call in some of the best most informed individuals that listen to us so can you tell us what is the morale like amongst your associations what what how our truck is doing right now in the face of this national emergency Mr Solomon you know I think is like the rest of the country like the rest of the world there is some anxiety but it but doggone it Sebastian there is a hell of a lot of pride with truckers and so the amount of and I think you you have noted that with first responders with doctors with nurses with health care system you know the real sense that you can make a difference and and I love to say that the the group of people with whom we work in in in DC and Virginia trucking association you know it's it's really important to do a good job but it really matters when times are tough in so doing a great job when times are easy is terrific but you really got to step up when times are tough and truckers have been doing that so some of the confusion that that comes out of the restrictions and different things are really important for public health that state Sen and locals are doing with good intention are you know confusing we're still truckers are still getting through but we're working with governors with mayors without DOT secretary Chao's been wonderful with DHS and the president to make sure that everyone you know keep the way clear that we can get get supplies into people supplies medicine ventilators you name it so as as we make it through this you know the price and the dedication is is just incredible and you'll see that on social media query Leal you'll see that on call in shows but trucks a roar across country it is something we take far too easily whether we're walking into that local grocery to buy that box of cereal that gallon of milk whether we're going to the local pharmacy to pick up that medication for all parents for our children gas how it got there and just listen to the figures how many the majority of those communities across our nation that are fed that are supplied exclusively by those truck is let's say a prayer every single night not only for the first respond is only for those who protect our nation who are providing health care right now but for those modem cowboys on those steel horses that are providing everything we need Mr Solomon you know would you please send a message if I can be so bold goal of your members that America is Hey we're rooting for you and I'd like to keep this door open on on national showing up on America first if you ever need anything from us or platform to send a message to.

"And ben. And I started watching doom watch and podcast in two thousand and eleven wasn't that long ago. Two thousand eleven through two thousand thirteen we made it through five episodes of to watch because that's all we have. Well, we had others. But. These reveal transfers so they were not the best quality, and they were very far down the generational chain to they were terrible. And of course, is now out on DVD most of it. Well, what exists is out on DVD so doom watch like many shows from Britain in the day has been raced or loss gone. And so there are quite a few episodes that are missing. And we're going to do the ones that that exist aren't missing that aren't missing the aren't missing episodes. And if they ever come along and do animated re-creations or something while that's another story. But. So do much do much. If you don't know, I'm gonna give you the background. So you don't have to go back and listen to world episodes. They are on the site. However, I tried listening to him. So that we would be back in the back in the vibe. And you know, sometimes you shouldn't listen to your own work. That's that's horribly outdated that the audio quality. And you know, just the this sophisticated patter wasn't there. I mean, it was it was early days. So. We are picking up with the red sky. If you wanna catch the earlier episodes, they are out there. One question that I'm going to put out here. And this is this is one we've done a tied car somewhere along the line on is what constitutes science fiction and is doom watch science fiction. Oh, would I used to be with slight aside? That was big question. We started we decided to stop calling it science fiction. We just call in speculative fiction, right, which really broadens the whole landscape. If you call that. Yeah. And in this case doom watch, his is very, you know, it's not about bug eyed monsters, it's not about alien, visions, this is entirely about real technological concerns of the age it has series by which we demand and we smack Mary Shelley we demand. She apologize still beater with a wet carpeted every episode kit Pedler, Jerry Davis, the creators of the cyberman who who you know, were very much into that vibe of when science goes wrong and doom watch is just an extension of that. And I am just gonna I'm gonna just quickly run over the five episodes that we did. So there was the plastic eaters that was about a virus. That was being created to eliminate plastic waste things we hear about even today they're still working on getting out and causing havoc. Because you know, that stuff happens we had one on. Tomorrow the rat which was somebody trying to genetically modify rats to be kill other rats, and it turned out. They started going after people and gaining intelligence is your Frankenstein's monster. There was project Sahara, which was a story about how the government's computers were compiling so much data on people that they could like profile people. This is early nineteen seventies people pretty forward thinking it is. And there was doom. What was re entry forbidden which one was about the dangers of space exploration. And I think they were using an atomic rocket and something went wrong, and they basically had to shoot the astronauts into into deep space and to die and really grim. It was and then there was the devil suites, which was somebody was making candy that was causing people to smoke. More a marketing camp. I mean, it's it was all of it is stuff that, you know, from a head lanes or precedent concerns. And so today, we take up with the red sky environmentalists Bernard Kelly and his daughter Dana pull up to the lighthouse of Tommy Gort just.

"I do they see a tackling this class whether it's uh gary bowls out of a uta or it's uh ryan ram check out of wisconsin or maybe it's in on day two but do they see a tackle that can finally end that need it last tackle and then they can move around their existing parts to fill out that offense why i think that's the big question linebacker to me is is an area that can be dealt with on on day two i think it's a decent class with solid class of wouldn't classify it as a a great class of linebackers but i think there's some some talent to be had in the second and third rounds and and this is an organization we all know what does it have come call banks right for the last time so um you know a guy like jack cunningham from vanderbilt jerry davis from florida uh tj walk from wisconsin ray mcmillan from ohio state the two lsu guys get kindle back with you riley florida's alex ends aloni so all those guys during the day to rangers i think there's it's pretty good group there they could address that need and not have to use a first round pick which we know that they won't historically i think they could get a pass rusher out they want to go with their bar net to throw the next possible pass rushers they could bar that's kind of italy for the top fifteen to twenty you get him a 23 that would certainly make sense the all sorts of lot it depends upon how the evaluate these guys i wouldn't take one in the first ideas give bse at that point is what you're trying to do its figure out what you're doing with eric flowers you want a true less tackle camera abbott's is going to be a right tackle were guard rant check won't be there at 23 i don't believe then you get into garrett bowls are as you know he's got a little bit of a boom or bust they're going to take him over the past rusher so we'll see i think they could still go for a pass rusher 23 the oakland raiders.
