But his patience his his ability to step up in the pocket and not be flustered. Even when the line does break down is really next level. I've always said Derek Carr is a great core A good quarterback, a very good quarterback. I didn't say he was an elite quarterback so far this year buying you can't argue he is playing like an elite quarterback, and he's telling the Raiders Get on my shoulders. I'll take you with me and the confidence is through the roof. This offense says all the confidence in the world and I also think that's extremely important. If you're just joining us. For football teams, but in reality, like you said, yummy times, they got to Ben Roethlisberger and took him to the ground and, you know, play after play. When that happens it wears on the quarterback, and it does impact performance, so they were able to do that You saw again yesterday. Maxx, Crosby had another game up front to you saw a lot of guys really doing things differently. Carl Nassib had another good game. And as well So so you like what you see, And I have to say this to Brian. Remember, the Raiders have been constantly pressured. Go to Lamar Jackson, Who's no slouch. You go to Ben Roethlisberger. Both those games both those winds. They pressured that quarterback and we're constantly in that defense and that offensive backfield And you know what? They've only blitzed twice right season. So they're getting pressure up front. Brian with four guys, right? Right. No question. Solomon Thomas. Let's not forget he was a top three pick out of Stanford. By the Niners. I mean, he was He ran like a 47 at the combine. He was He was a freak athlete. He had a great college career. I want to talk about Denzel Pyramid. 12 tackles Trayvon Martin, seven tackles. To pass is deflected in Jonathan Abram moved to me is playing a lot like Bob Sanders that play where click Chase. Claypool tried to jump over Jonathan Abram last year that may have been a touchdown. Abram stopped that play in its tracks, talking about those three players. Yeah, I think Well, number one. Having Perriman there in the middle and at linebacker for the Raiders is a huge thing. He's an experienced guy who knows the system and it shows right. He's very comfortable in there. He's making plays. He knows where it is not only doing that, but if you watch you can see him directing the guys who are new to the system, But they've all adopted. They've all adapted very well. Jonathan Abram was a massive question Mark. I had serious doubts. But when they moved him to box safety to a natural position where he can play better and be aggressive, that's what they needed to do. They were able to do that because they were able to go out and find safety is to play the natural position. That's what the problem was with the Raiders the last couple of years, guys was you had a defensive coordinator that wasn't very creative or motivating and not only that, but he's playing a lot of guys on a position. Jonathan Abram has benefited from moving up and doing that. And so you see that this defense man, you talk about confidence, Brian. You mentioned it with the offense on defense. This this this defense just have that you can see it already and listen, Let's face it. The Raiders are not going undefeated guys. Okay? How can you go in defeated there will have their ups and downs. But I'm telling you, the down should be a lot less significant. They shouldn't last multiple games like they did last year in that suite at the end of the season. You just like the makeup of this. You'd like the coaching staff. The mood that's been sent the culture that's been sent and you're seeing it with guys like Pyramid, Abram and then, of course, Mullen, who continues to perform at a very high level, and I think if you ask the coaching staff and you ask the fans and you said, you look at these first two games if you're able to go one and one, you'd be ecstatic with that, or at least very content or happy with that. The fact that they're going away in these first two Seems to and also I think it is incredible. It's what a start. And again, it's only two games into the season. We got a long way to go, but I think early on in this season, we have seen what this team is made of and what they're capable of. So now let's look ahead to next week. The Miami top fins didn't look too good over the weekend, They got blitzed, figuratively speaking and, well, they did get blitzed as well. They lost 35 to 0 Buffalo bills. The Dolphins looked awful. They have injuries. Now they come into Las Vegas. Now they're playing a Raider team with a ton of confidence to know is day to day, But he may play for the Raiders. You have to say there's Stuff, right? We don't. We don't want to look ahead. We don't want to take these guys for granted, but the same time. This is a game where the Raiders need to take advantage of the Dolphins team that is that is really sucking in all categories right now. They do the one area that the Dolphins are good in still and they need and I think the Raiders need to be cognizant of this, but I like the Raiders chances because of how they're playing offences. Miami is still very good about takeaways on defense. Their defense is tough, right? Um Jerome Baker is a good good linebacker. You have Brandon Jones and safety. They have a good defense. Went six in three hundred eleven touchdowns five interceptions but he's still spent a lot of time with ryan fitzpatrick and was benched a lot of times in games where he was plane so for me. Not the playbook last year which is something he had made it through this this off season this summer spending time with the team around teammates. That's what i want to see from you but this is like have you ever put something on layaway. Max i know i know i have my parents. Michael jordan had a basketball a black and red basketball. Okay in like i don't remember it was my nine hundred eighty four or something like that at paragon athletics down in seventeenth street. It was eight bucks. I put it on layaway. That tells me that they don't really have that trust in him to be that leader just quite yet maybe that comes later on down the line but right now and they feel like somebody else should lead them. And he's not ready to lead talking about not being named captain of the dolphin. Only two quarterbacks not to be team captain. I don't think that's the case. The players did vote in the situation. They devote and guys like exhibitor. Howard dean how're byron. Jones jerome baker. The talented most talented star players for the dolphins didn't get selected as captains either. So guys like mac. Holland's got selected as a captain well to the playbook last year but when mack hounds get selected. He was potentially going to be a release. He was going to get released. So i think the players voted on guys. They thought were stable. That could provide that type of outlook for the franchise. I don't think it has to do anything with star players. I think we're going to make it in an indictment on a guy like to. I think he can use it as motivation. But from what i hear from people inside that camp and i've talked to. They all believe that he's taking the right steps to own this team. I think it's the way they went about both been team. Captain no no. I've been voted on my career both college and the pro's probably i would say four to five different times but i never wanted to take it on. I just like i'm good. I watch what are you take on him. Captain and why did you turn that down. Because i don't i don't i just. It's too much to deal with already. Got enough to have to deal with by playing and being a leader by example. I don't need to be a leader to be captain to sit in a room and make decisions on what food we're eating and how we gonna travel got other things you gotta flip a coin. The coin to flip a coin. Too busy to flip corn. I don't wanna go out there. I think responsibility in my entire career. I probably went out for the toss maybe once in that might have been a preseason game so it's just because i i'm like no i'm good. You know because they come to you tell you beforehand. Hey go out for the toss and you don't even have to be a captain and go out for the toss and i'm like no i'm good man. Let somebody else. Do you have a c. On your chest as captain. The team still knows who the best players are. The teams i know about these not even about the best player is about the leadership. I didn't need to be a captain for people to follow people already knew my leadership skills is will document. That's so that's one of the things i'm like. Borough is going to be the quarterback for years to come even at this point. You look at justin field. You'd be shocked if he wasn't for years to come. Obviously trevor larkham overall pick tour. This is kind of like a show me year for him. Doesn't that make a difference. The fact that he didn't put cement the job long-term as a high first round pick and he's not capital. Max that that that comes from your teammates voting you in. They don't feel comfortable about him. Being the captain they don't feel like his leadership skills or their else they would have voted him in as captain. That's why i say they make the decision on whether or not the coaches honored at decision is another thing. But i know just being in the locker rooms. I've on teams that the players. Vote the coaches tally. It up now doesn't mean that the coaches didn't drop a few of the little slips along the way that had his name on it. I don't know i have no idea. But clearly they don't feel comfortable with him being the captain for whatever reason whether he becomes a captain. What if he was a captain in week four. He's traded or yeah. Yeah because that's what i'm saying survey captain you cannot have a captain being benched rights. You he's can't do this guy who a couple years ago he's a future star in the nfl. His future is uncertain. It has a team. That's ready to win now..

Hunt is a seventy-three so he like he's now the highest rated but Before we wrap this up. I mean again. We will post the player ratings where you can look at this things all that good stuff but i think i want to talk about some of our snubs jake. I don't know if you've any written down here. But one of the big ones. I want to bring up is to buy low. I mean you mentioned i believe. Zach wilson at seventy two overall and. Yes i think to the seventy three overall. It's probably right in that area. But i don't know i guess i expected a little bit more. Expect a little more out of some of these ratings but most important to tunnel does that superstar development trait. So if you are going to play a franchise if you are going to get mad in this year You know unlike some of the previous years we had had some of those other turds. No it seems like things might be finally looking up as far as the miami dolphins at least from a video game perspective. Who would ever wanna play with an offense that seventy overall. How fun josh. This is the thirty first offense the game and this latinos at six yes. It was a really defensive oriented gm. But i just don't understand how you could have two at seventy three austin jackson at sixty five and i'm going to boot a bad and play with this team online. Because you're doing. "We talk sports so does watching bill. I mean jail somebody who can play on the inside. You can play on the outside. He can be that test piece like we mentioned it. And i think that's why he's going to have a role with the miami. Dolphins potentially a big what in his rookie year. Because there's nothing. Brian for his loves more than those chest paves chess pieces. You think about what he said in terms of that six men mentality. I mean he's already mentioned it in interviews for the miami dolphins were. He's willing to play every position. Everyone's kind of concerned that he was labelled a linebacker. What are you going to do. Are you going to go chase running back then. He kinda study. No i'm going to do whatever they need me. So that mentality. I think is going to have a big swing in his opportunity in terms of hitting the field of the combo that he has a length and strength. I believe makes it so much easier for him to reach scrambling quarterbacks. I think that's something. The dolphins have struggled with her very very long. I think You know the shack lost the world ugly branches the world whoever maybe kind of fumbling themselves once they have to deal with a quarterback in the open field and a big reason for that is just the fact that there's such big players right. It's hard to really turn on the turn on a dime. I guess would your that have you. When you're that strong. I mean it's really hard to keep your balance when you're going so low. You're being pushed around. Jim book books as an incredible amount a balance for his frame. And i think that's was so impressive that they were thing to watch. I was watching. The ball was coming back the other way and instead of Phillips getting burned the guy running right by making him break his ankles and fall over philps maintain is bound than he made the tackle for six years loss. And that just seems so refreshing to me. A big guy isn't going to instantly get beat by every quarterback running back at and wide receiver that tries to go by. Yeah and i mean he can sit the edge absolutely and i hate to bring it up because it was the kind of the anomaly but when they went against north carolina i mean that entire defense got gashed so i mean there is some room for improvement there but jake just to your point i mean i i call him pastor talking about what he can bring in that kind of dynamic but we talked about various pockets. The dolphins run defense has been bad for many years in what he can bring. You know as at extra guy set the edge. Do some some of those things that you know amanullah book can do and maybe we'll talk with charleston did well but you know he brings another aspect is a pass rusher so i think this is going to be again one of the more dynamic players and i think it's interesting because i just brought up. Espn's depth chart have down as a three four defense in the way they haven't set up right. Now is christian. Wilkins at left defensive. End ray kwan. Davis at nose tackle zach sealer at right defensive end and then the linebackers are jalen phillips. At weakside bernard drake mckinney andro baker in the middle and then amanda logged on the other side. And so that is how they're projecting it has actually jalen phillips with andrew. Banco behind have been spiegel. You know we can talk about the cast or some of those guys that might be battling for that starting spot but right now i mean he's listed as a starter again. This is not an official depth chart but that could be how it fills out with three four defense ba. Let's be honest. We know. Brian floors loves to be versatile. Loves to play different defenses in today's nfl teams are more likely to be a nickel dime packages. Things like that where. There's a lot more defensive on the field so Take the step chart with a grain of salt but the prospect in what jalen phillips can do to this defense. Is you know for lack of a better term game. Changing so jesse mentioned his ability in the run game. And i wrote down here i got to just kind of something popped in my head in. Its if he wants something done. Great do it yourself. And that's kind of what jalen fields brings against the run on. He can set the edge. Yes but where he really excels is breaking the edge and just reaching that running back before anybody else gets to him before a blocker can really seal off the edge and give that running backs room philps great at penetrating making that tackle for lots but you mentioned he needs around him who can go outside and make sure that running back if he gets by phillips he doesn't just go twenty five yards on the sideline because the edges now gone right and when you think about guys like jerome baker they had the speed on edge to really keep up. This is even a situation as he gathered brandon jones and john holland being involved especially against the run game. These speedy guys. They can tackle. That's what you want against the running back especially with someone like phillips who. It's going to be a little more aggressive. Because i think we're used to in a sense as dolphin fans where they'd be time for team set the edge or excavated plays with the edge and we'd see running backs dance for twenty five yards on. "The worst kept secret in the league. That existing howard is not happy with his contract. We know that pro football network also released an article. I believe it was around midnight. You know stating that. If he doesn't show up i mean. Obviously he doesn't up. He's going to be upset about his contract when a new deal. But i mean it's all going to come to fruition over these next few weeks and T to say that even how obviously wants a new deal. I mean we just saw joan baker get a new contract. Can he be happy about that. Probably not i think. I think exerience someone who he's going to be happy with baker. I think he's going to play his game. And i worry about it. Came out that definitely became our But but the thing i think is so interesting here and i'm not trying to say a simpsons did it but we did our first ten headlines and then two days later we are sharing stories in our in the dams on twitter about three of our different headlines for different beat. Writers said stories about odd. So it's kinda cool to see we are hitting the nail on the head and the first thing we talked about Howard not going to be happy with his contract and it just seems like they're they hit that time of the year at its the last part of the two thousand twenty season technically. We're still quote unquote phase three. So this is the last chance to really iron things out before you turn the page. And that's why. I think it was such a great idea for us to Go through those headlines because all these things are gonna come apparent pretty soon and just to kind of ramp that up josh wheat. We had ten more comics. That howard has not happy with this contract. But he's done everything right so far. He's never done anything to show that he wouldn't be with the team. So i i do wonder if there's may be conversations behind the scenes of one more year and then we'll re up you again and make the highest paid cornerback. Which he should be. I think he certainly deserves that But it is a. That's the question of the rest of the offseason before training camp against josh. And that's where that money gonna come from. If they're even to give howard accenture we still don't know if he's going to show up or not. I think that's the big thing here is everyone's kind of instantly going to the doom and gloom of it but howard's track record is pretty clean in terms of football activities right and i hope he shows up. He was as a tackle in his rookie year. Yeah i mean you know as as a foregone conclusion as it may seem. I think a lot of people are forgetting. This is a prime floor is team you know. This is the cream rises to the top in competition ultimately outweighs thing so yeah. We'll see a big bob. Hunt takes over that guard spot but as it seems now he's pretty much penciled in there as it seems and that's the one thing i think. All dolphin fans are uniting four. We're going to start having conversation about guys who shine and the only way guys can shine is if other people are kinda fallen apart out there and they're gonna be some players. The dolphins hand that they need to be on the roster they were they shown that level consistency could suddenly chris and blooms get beat out. I'm not saying like. I think that's going to happen. But if williams kinda struggles to get back into his zone has a couple more drops in albert. Wilson is looking like that veteran. Who's been here. You don't i mean five six seven years. It wouldn't be the craziest thing i mean. We've seen the dolphins especially brand floor is do crazy things with this roster does brandon. Jones somehow play so well. These are just random thoughts that came to my head but they're going to be players that are cut from the miami dolphins that we aren't expecting it's like the draft when everyone does their mock drafts. Everyone does their fifty three man rafters and believe it or not no offense. Everyone were all wrong. We're under some wrong. We're gonna have those mistakes. And i'm so curious to see how those develop and how brand for as his staff come to these decisions because we've we've said it most his offseason. That's how we're getting through this offseason by saying there are a lot of strong camp adults here and they're going to be some talented guys.
