"Offered no their defensive plays ruler. Yeah but he's not the defensive coordinator. Apparently he's splits defensive coordinator duties with the linebackers coach. Jerod mayo so they split the defensive coordinator duties. Steve ella track calls the plays and bill. Belichick is defend the corner so probably one of those where bella check bill ballot check is probably grooming steve to become a difference of coordinator one day And then this last point. I have That media is kind of making a big deal about brady having a cold this week. And they're evidence was he was in a press conference and he sounded really horse and i'm like he always sounds horse after practice. Like have you notified with press conferences. Brady yeah i've heard quite a few where he's like hoarse from yelling so they're trying to make that thing who brady's sick always some always look for something to hang out But yeah i think this is going to be a revenge game. I think Brady has a chip on shoulder. And he has something to prove. He's sell familiar with that stadium. So you gotta take. The bucks are gonna win ago. Escort particularly scoreboard. "Last hour We started talking about jeopardy and what's going on behind the scenes and who's the next host there? And we only got the best and worst of the weekend from Todd. We didn't get to McLovin Poli and see. So McLovin. Okay, Um, I have nothing but worst. And this mostly speaking as a field, obvious sportsman, So the Braves win nine in a row. Great. The Baltimore Orioles lose 18 a row, most of them to the brave, unbelievable, But I wouldn't get my worse is the New England Patriots coaching staff. Josh McDaniels gets interviewed by the Eagles in the off season. It doesn't get hired Jerod Mayo gets interviewed by the Eagles offices doesn't get hired. So they go out and put a whooping on my Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, pulling out trick plays in preseason. Just to punish the Eagles. Unfair, unfair. Not nice. By way. Uh, Eagles are a bit of trouble. Dad, as you might expect. The Orioles streak is three shy of the club record. The Orioles lost 21 in a row in 1988, longest in baseball since the Royals drop 19 in a row. In 22,000 and five What happened to Baltimore Baseball. It feels like was that after Buck Showalter left it all of a sudden it started to go south there, But there have been three losing streaks of 14 or more games in baseball this season. To buy the Orioles. Congratulations. And bad baseball team in a great baseball market, Uh, seen O'Connor best and worst of the weekend, My best of the weekend, W W E broke the Summer Slam indoor attendance record. How about that over 51,000 people packed into Allegiant Stadium to bear witness to the event? My worst of the weekend? That is a terrible time for allegiance, Major credit card processing system to fail, considering they're a cashless venue. So they had over 51,000 people in there trying to buy hot dogs and sodas and stuff, and I couldn't take any money for it. Hoops. That's unfortunate. Yeah. Uh, Polly, Former bear great mystery whiskey comes home and put a whooping on the bears. 41 15. He's the Bills quarterback. Now he was 20 of 28 to 21 on one t V for anyone who forgets Mr Whiskey made the playoffs twice in a pro bowl once as a bear. And then here's some good news. Uh, The Cowboys backup quarterback Ben DeNucci. He completed 17 of 19 passes in oud. Unfortunately, three of those completions to the other team he had 300 the new huge Don't know if we have any quarterback controversies doing because San Francisco's on a controversy. Chicago is not a controversy because their head coach Matt Nagy, said that Justin Fields is not going to be the starter, Sandy Dalton. Feels like the controversy is with the fans over the fact that there is no controversy. Is Mac Jones. There's no controversy there feels like it's going to be Cam Newton. Trevor Lawrence, uh, gets to play. He's in a preseason game coming up tonight. Although urban Meyer hasn't named his starter, the jet Zach Wilson, he's going to be your starter. Yes, McLovin. Some people say Gardner Minshew is pushing Trevor Lords. Like like literally like he's pushing, you know, but that Trevor didn't look good and week one. And if he looks bad again, and maybe they go Minshew to start is that or is that just urban Meyer putting the pressure on the rookie? Well, it delays the inevitable If you bring Gardner Minshew in Gardner Minshew has every right to think that he is just as good or has every right that to start for the Jacksonville Jaguars in his mind. Absolutely. Now they drafted Trevor Lawrence. He knows his days are numbered, but he's not gonna make it easy for anybody there with that decision. And he's probably going to want to get out because he doesn't want to be a backup to somebody who is going to be a franchise quarterback for a decade. But Urban Meyer hasn't named the starter there, but it feels like it's the inevitable in Chicago in San Francisco and Jacksonville. It's just inevitable that you drafted them. You spent You know all of this. You know the draft picks. You know the Rams would share it golf. You went up and got him. Case Keenum started, But you know Jared Goff was coming in because he had to You know, Um Mitchell true whiskey. That's what happens. Yama Club Ryan Fitzpatrick last year with two Uh yeah. Like I was, like, seven weeks in The timing of all of this, That's that's what this is. But these quarterbacks come out and they're ready to play now, or at least we assume they're ready to play now. But they're going to look lost. All of them will look lost at some point this year guaranteed. Mean, Tom Brady forgot what down it was this past season. Thank you. You make mistakes. The great ones make mistakes. Now they make less mistakes, but they still make mistakes. All right, Paulie, did you give everything you need to give? All right. Larry Fitzgerald was he's doing a show with Tom Brady and Jim Greg and this is on mad Dog radio. And, uh, Larry was asked about his future Jim Gray, asking the question. So, Larry, are you going to be a radio broadcaster? Or will you be back out on the football field for now? Would be a radio broadcaster, right? Too much to be honest with you. I just don't I just don't have the urge to play right now. I don't know how field in September October November Before, but I just today I just I just don't have the urge. And, you know, I think I have to be respectful of that football is not one of those games. You want to walk out there and play and not be fully engaged in and ready to prepare. And do you think necessary that you need to do.

"With along the future Life rocket can, As you know, as promised. We are joined right now by a defensive back with the New York Giants. He is a two time Super Bowl champion. Coming off a season where he had 94 tackles. Three forced fumbles too far more recoveries and I N T and a sack. He was the Giants nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. He was no American and Rutgers. He was the 83rd pick overall in 2013. The Giants are going to open up against Denver on September 12th. That's coming fast, too, right? He is also partnering with the Jamison humane for a special auction, which is going on right now, which we will get to Logan. Ryan is my guest logon. It's good to have you back. How are you? What's going on, Jim. Thanks for having me. It's good to have you all right. So you're coming off your first year with the Giants. Let me start right there. Considering you are a New Jersey guy and you went to Rutgers? What was that first year with the Giants like and how much did you enjoy that experience? Man. The first year was great, honestly was was a great experience and it's crazy because we started off like one in seven, right and I'm just I'm a winner. I'm used to winning. I worked really hard to win. And I still was enjoying the time still enjoy the process of turned that around and finishing a lot better than we started. And you know, Covid was a weird year for everybody. We're here with Mr Fan. I played in Met light. You know, in college as rocket we would play some games there. So not having any fans is definitely where they're being close to family being able to be near the grant near my parents and the grandparents for my kids definitely helped us through it A little better made it a little more normal for me. Logan Ryan joining us. I think all that is really cool. I think something else that's cool is the fact that you effectively bet on yourself last year when you signed out one year deal with the Giants. Then in December, you signed a three year extension with the team. This is not easy to do. What's the contract and represents you and what it means to represent the Giants. The contract means a lot. I mean, listen, um we're all very fortunate to make the money we make in this industry. And I don't think anybody complaining and complaining about that I love football, and I love providing for my family and take it. Really seriously and exactly a lot of work in it. But, you know, contract for me is about respect, and I'm still like I was in a tough Quincy market with covid like the stock market. A lot of things crashed and my value went down tremendously overnight. Just because of What was going on in the world, and I didn't feel like that was completely right. So I wanted to take my time and sign in a place that believed in me and gave me opportunity. Um, to prove it, give me an opportunity to to value what they see every day in practice. They see in the community and what they see ultimately on Sundays. And I try to lead from the beginning of the week and then the week Charlie behind the scenes and understand that wasn't afraid of that opportunity, and they rewarded me with a contract like they said they would. If I I held up my end, so I was very grateful for that very grateful. Organization of Giants are class acts truly one of the classic organizations that played for We're talking to Logan Ryan, where I really like Logan about that response to the fact that you're talking about leadership and the fact you want lead from the front. You were also saying recently that the young guys really want to learn and they really want to spend time with you. They want to pick your brain. And that it's different from what a lot of people hear about young athletes today. How would you describe the young guys on your team in their mindset and the types of conversations you have with them? Yeah, That's a great question. I I think I'm one of those I one of those people that don't like the modern day athletes. These guys coming out a lot of times I feel like I'm one of those like J. Cole said in the song of the middle child where I feel like I'm kind of an old soul. When I came in the league, it was like Brady, who's still in the league, but it was like Vince will fork and Jerod Mayo is really all locked in a lot of bets. And it is the old school way. Dudes are still wearing baggy suits, You know, and, uh, I call it came and saw how they put in that work and what they were doing and competing for championships and then You know, now I'm in year nine NFL. I don't feel that old but you know, I guess some standard Diane, but I think guys are playing longer Die to take care of the body more around here. I'm one of those athletes who eats on diet all year trains all year. To play a little bit longer career than they used to. And I see these guys coming out like they feel they're entitled. They feel like they don't want to. They want it right away. They want to transfer they don't Don't want to go through it the hard way. But on the Giants, man, we got guys on the team that want to learn, Um, guys that that I've encountered that want to become better than want to ask those questions. Joe Judge sets the culture that you're going to put in the work. You're not going to make excuses That's already said so, especially guys in my in my room. Neighbor McKinney, darning homes, Some of the secondary we have those guys really do respect what I put in But still want to want to get better and still want to put the work in. That's definitely refreshing and definitely off. I definitely respected a ton of things. A special group Logan Ryan, my guest. I love this conversation. I had a similar conversation Logon yesterday with Micah Hyde and you guys are different guys, obviously, but kind of a similar mindset that there's a right way of doing things and it's a lifestyle. It's 24 7 is 3 65. There is no off season. You gotta love the game. He totally committed to it. I love having these conversations like you also even went out to guys who came before you. You reached out to guys like Antrel Rolle, Jason Seehorn's Corey Webster. What did you take away from connecting with them? Why did you spend time with them? First of all I love Michael. Hi. I think we're similar players and I love his career and we came up to him here and he's just He's a beast and right. Buffalo is really good. Yeah, you know, it really came down to like We talked about that for agency. Um I felt like what happened in my career that came out NFL came out of college, a really productive corner like I had a really All American season and I felt like I was snubbed a little bit in the draft process. I wasn't a great combine athlete, but I thought it was a really good football player. And I was kind of one of those guys that fell in that process, and we're like via corners of faith You thought played four years inside and outside corner for New England and made a lot interceptions. Led the team owns every year in interceptions played outside corner matched up with Hopkins matched up with some of the best students in the game out there in New England..

"On this but I thought that this was a very interesting because you know that that bill Belichick does not want any information about anything happening within his building out there he will do what ever he can to make sure that everything is close to the vest is a C. I. A. type I actually think he may be working for the CIA really wow that's a that's a headline right there good being so there's a player on the on the patriots who might be off the patriots now he won't be Duron Harmon yeah now he will be he's a good of a player is all I understand but but the reason I say this so Duron Harmon he made one of these mistakes of revealing something it was supposed to reveal so Jerod Mayo who is a former line backer for the New England Patriots now inside linebackers coach and he apparently is called the plays for the defense and it looked like it was going on during the preseason game media guides are fresh Detroit tuna Matthew Stafford in plan they came but they they killed right thirty one to three so so people ask bill Belichick about hate you know Brian floor is called the defensive plays last year it was called the defense plays now the bill Belichick right and Belichick said that we always do what we feel is best for the football team and that's what we always do Sonya sounds just like my CBSSports minute right so right that's why city did CBS sports moments so this is what ballots access right now I didn't hear the CBS sportsline sorry I ten I didn't hear it but one of it the other night that Paramus they make fun of CBS sports event well you know you said that I was known for my CBS yeah that was a joke I wasn't making fun of the C. bus art I laughed at it that was a shot shop is okay I left that is fine you know I right so you you and you claim you're not sensitive that would not have I laughed at and I said yeah and I don't think that I don't hear everything that you say I hear everything right all right well anyway I I didn't I didn't hear this one just happened to get on this story I try to do I did it though I do I did it because I went to ask those guys in this story and they said no we did a CBS sports okay that's how it happened thanks well anyway now and completely off track so this is what Belichick said about it he said we always feel would do with fashion football team wouldn't answer but then Duron Harmon gets asked about an interview and he just goes yeah obviously Jared's going to place this is has been him he's going to place just totally blurted out to build boats are probably sat down and said what the hell you if you're not supposed to tell anybody this I was during an interview on on W. E. I. but you know you would think that a guy like that wouldn't get caught or discipline because he's a good player but I mean I guess yeah I get say this if he were rookie yeah and he said something like that the first team meeting balance check would walk in and is there all right the Ron Harmon stand up and then the Ron Harmon stands up and you know the other eighty nine guys a sit there looking at him he goes son who made you the spokesperson for the New England Patriots yeah yeah we've won some games around here before you got here yeah that kind of thing sure and he would just dress him down in front of the team yep now I'm assuming since he has the Parcells influence in many times Phil Simms is told me about stories similar to this that happened when he was with the giants and somebody would have said something in the paper Parcells were ripped into them in front of the team saying you know who made you spokesperson right that kind of thing yep so I don't assume we know that he would do that to Veronica strong as a very significant and important part of that defense is a good player but if that were rookie RB keep my head down and short right of course I mean in bill Belichick apparently when he dresses you down the address is down for us this town from what I hear you but here's the thing like everybody in this world like the the sports world that we live in now what like it's all about social media right the whole thing a social media to it too much so but yes and the patriots are no social media only social media is Brady you know and and it's not the Brady puts out is gonna innocent stop joint damage all over to yeah but he's there but they're pretty innocent stuff out there there are comparing themselves the other players are getting sued by trainers and you know things like that yeah hip injuries yes what yeah I do so yeah I bring up the hip injury because that's that's Odell Beckham junior is is dealing with that now I guess and there's no time table and yada yada yada you know what's funny is I noticed that speaking no doubt you've been saying since the end of the giants season that Odell Beckham junior took himself off the field last four games could have played in three of those four games for shore yeah that was not the play guys thousand yard season I was I'm you've been saying that for months what a presentiment center for months and then all of a sudden it got picked up like it was news the other day as a bore size and says that Odell Beckham junior quit on the giants in two other reasons is not what the giants yeah well wide and how many times I don't want to play with the lie yeah I'm a tons I said that right what people not believe you like I don't understand at all I'm not you know these are my opinions but my opinions are based what I believe is in fact with people in the known people who have been around the situation right and people who have a pipeline to some of the conversations that happened on the field and being dressed down by Odell Beckham junior me the coach and things of that nature thank god you know like sometimes people just don't understand you know so less is better in this case I mean you you subtract you actually add by subtracting because there's a lot of heavy lifting a while Odell Beckham junior teammates mail to love him there has to be a certain amount of respect that supported the other people that are running the the business whether it be the general manager to coach the wide receiver coach your other teammate the quarterback and and if that respect in anyway sure sure performance not being shown and it's only been given one way than that obviously that person has to be removed from the maxi has to be yeah because you can't move forward with that kind of thing and I think I don't know it's out of the I don't know so I know whether or not a live a burning was like that I never really got that vibe from a live there I think he's a pretty good player but I I do obviously get that from Odell Beckham junior so it's obvious why the giants get rid of them you know I think is going to help dell to their kinda maybe not have so much focus on him is not really removing himself from the New York market because you can be a star in Cleveland we know that is that there's no way he's going to be the biggest personality on that team the player may feel man yeah it's bigger maker now his team right that waits on questions and he will not and you know here's a good thing I think Eli sixteen years and two super bowls success the face of the franchise kind of like a quiet personality that's not bigger Mayfield the bigger may feel saws off the proof but he is an aggressive in your face and not afraid to take on a guy or two and you know he throws the ball hard he plays hard he runs around a makes plays so they'll be a lot of secondary plays that are made in Cleveland that would have never gotten made here in New York so there will be more opportunities for big poll I believe but big place for guys like Odell playing with a player like Baker Mayfield then that person now you love for the Browns and that's a personality that you wanted for the jets yes not a quarterback that they have now is can pull legally a one eighty from that personality he is now bush troubles me yeah why well it troubles me because I want every quarter back to always own his team what I mean by that is you know you have to be the unquestioned leader there can't there can't be any doubt in anybody's mind that you are the guy there ten guys in that whole that are looking at you meanwhile the defense is looking at you the coaching staff is looking at you the owners looking at you the sales department is looking at you everybody's looking at you and you have to have that personality that has just to be able to inspire the players are playing with and I would say one of the reasons why I thought Sam Donald be great for the giants is the same reason why Daniel Jones is gonna be great and why he lives been great and why you always been great for the transport Phil Simms even you know fills Groff an angry an old now right exactly was in tatters you know he was he was kind of like a guy that was a good teammate you know and and good face of the franchise for the chance because he never made it about himself right and Daniel Jones is not gonna make it about himself you I doesn't make it about himself filled in making about himself until later on in life now it's all about Phil but but Sam kind of comes across that same way doesn't like really make it about himself and I'm not saying that that's a good or bad thing in a sense that he can still be successful but the last guide to win a Superbowl with that personality it's it would be like Joe Flacco and he's more like Carson Palmer and Joe Flacco and and that kind of group according to Carson Palmer might even at a little more juice but I feel I get a little more a not that there's anything wrong with that but it's not it's not Brady it's not Roethlisberger it's not Aaron Rogers it's not I I believe like Mitch Stravinsky yeah right got that kinda at he's got a key shows up like on Halloween as Mike Ditka yeah right yeah yeah yeah yeah in a rally of Soldier Field there again so what about Russell Wilson I eons is tame it now he may not be like by all those players because they think I he's a sock up and you know he's the coach is Pat and all that other stuff he places **** off yeah and everybody sees as performance on the field so the anybody questions as to whether or not he has that a type personality he does he's the man he's in charge he's the leader and you know it's not just one Sam to be that guy won him the only his football team I remember when I asked Sam just the other day this week at jets camp I said you know what about shot gun in the beer at a Mets game you know you saw a Baker did he goes well you know maybe one I'm a little more established was there so he's now is treading lightly but you'll be said about that well that's a good thing that it's a good thing too yeah.
