"Maybe you watch that race, but you didn't get to see motive to a over three. You want to listen to the post ratio Peter had an idea and I think it's totally something we can fix I'm sure that what I can do is can either make notes as do the show or get like a little APP timer on my phone or something like that and I can mark the segments off, and then I'll post in the description where each. Each of the race discussions start. That was kind of his idea there. He thought. Maybe we could put it on patriotic and we do that, although it can also probably just put it in the general description where each section starts, I don't think speaker allows me to mark off places like that like soundcloud does, but I'll check on that one way or the other I can also put some audio in between each one as well so I can give you times and then throw a. A little bit of audio, maybe fifteen seconds or something in there that way makes it easier to find out where those discussions really start. Oh, I, hear the Music Okano the neck sections coming up in than it doesn't spoil anything, so don't feel bad about bringing that up. And that's why we have the discussion on facebook and on read it, so you guys can tell me about stuff like that and and I will say that by design I. Wait as long as I possibly can. Can on Sunday the put up. Those Post Ratios Sunday night here on the US west coast to give you as long as possible to watch as many of the races education, but I understand 'em with motor GP. It's really easy to get number one, and that might be all you have time for on Sunday and saying wait until Monday or Tuesday. As long as you come back as long as you promised to come back and listen to the Motoo Moto three discussions on the post. Post ratio that yeah, let's do it. I don't want to send you away. Though, and have you ever come back? pistol Pete wanted to talk looping background and Marquez a little bit, and I know that we spent some time on him, but we can. We can talk a little bit more pistol. Pete wondered at what point do injuries start to have a cumulative effect on a rider like Mark Marquess, and that's a very good question when it's very hard to answer because it does. Does happen to everyone eventually I mean it's very rare for a motor GP writer to retire, and have it not be linked in some way or another to an injury, and even more rare for a rider, not to have a major injury that ultimately affects their overall performance I mean mcadoo in his leg forced him out of the series for Kevin, Schwantz it was his rest Casey. Stoner had a lot of stuff going on in general, but there's no question that his injury near the end. End of two thousand twelve helped make that decision quite a bit easier. mark obviously at that point yet I mean I don't think for a second that the fear here or the net result of Mark's injury on Sunday is going to be thoughts of retirement, or even leading them down that path, especially knowing that he didn't suffer any nerve damage and that the surgery went well and that he's going to get better quick, but that wasn't pizza question. Pete's question was focused on performance. While Mark Seems Superhuman at times. While most of the time, he is vulnerable in this area, and it's everybody is, and it's GonNa. Be Very interesting to see what affect Advani. This accident has on him in terms of overall performance, and you have to kind of take it into chunks. There's the short term implications performance. Hey, I'm getting better. I'm not one hundred percent yet mostly those are. Are Physical things to overcome then there are the longer term once which sometimes are physical, but also sometimes our mental blocks on performance because let's face it. Mark has had riding related medical issues up until now means had the shoulder injuries, and of course as many surgeries to along with those shoulder injuries, but even though those injuries came about as a result of wrecks EMOJI P. They weren't ones that kept him out of racist hell. He was able to entire championships. Despite those shoulder injuries, he could wait until the end of the season. Have them worked on and then come back but up. Until this point he had never had a wreck in Modo GP that kept him out of a race or broke a major bone. Until now, and that was the challenge that I kinda referred US quotes there the challenge that I kind of referenced on the Post Race Show, because when you're young, and you're fearless, and you fall, and then you get right back up and you hop right back on the bike. It only reinforces that fearless attitude like we talked about earlier, but when you fall in something happens where you can't just hop back up and get back on the bike then suddenly. You don't feel quite as invincible anymore. You have a little more awareness of your own mortality, and that's not a good thing. emoji motor GP. I mean I would argue and this is just my opinion. I'm sure there were people would disagree, but I would argue the Valentino. Rossi wasn't quite. The same wasn't quite as fearless. After he broke his leg Misano, he had had injuries before that, but that one I think was the one that's kind of a little bit of a turning point for him, and you can see that borne. Borne out in his results before and after that injury, and yes, I understand how plays a part in that and age plays a part in that as well, but the injuries definitely do also play a factor. Lorenzo almost when as far as saying I'm afraid to get on the Honda. It because I think it's GonNa throw me off. I'M GONNA get hurt the same bike that mark has complete and total faith him right well. Lorenzo also had injuries the past couple of seasons before that. That forced him to sit out. Dany Pedrosa did a fantastic job of hanging in there at the end of his career, but I would say that by the third time he had to sit out with a fractured collarbone can totally see season's worth of results that weren't quite as good as those that came before all of those injuries, and you could argue I'm just confusing correlation for causation, and you might be right about that, but I mean seriously if you keep falling off the bike. Bike and hurting yourself seriously, you're gonNA start to think about falling off the bike and hurting yourself seriously so I think that the mental aspect of big wreck like that can be just as important as the physical aspects especially when it comes to the potential impact on long term performance, because the difference between the best and the also rans. Emoji, P is so small that you have to be able to use every single advantage possible, and if just one of your tolls isn't a sharp. It.

"Show on the Internet. It's going to question everything they know about science and medicine. If Marquez comes back this weekend like seriously. How could that even be possible? That Marc Marquez with a broken arm, surgically repaired could race at her as well. The rumors have started I. Don't know how solid they are and I. Really Don't know what the realistic chances are. That mark could come back, but you'd better. We're GONNA. Talk about it on the shell plus we're GONNA. Review your comments. You guys had so many good things to say after the race I mean great. Great topics that you wanted to discuss after the race whether it was about the race itself about mark or Fob your body, so we're GONNA talk about a ton of comments today, and of course we've got a preview the race because we are right back in action. How awesome is this? Get racing this Sunday in her as again and in fact, there's so much to talk about that when I started putting it all in A. A list and looking had it. I thought this is going to be like a ninety minute or two hour show so what we're GONNA do is we're actually going to split things up. We're GONNA. have to episodes today the first episode will do comments in reaction to the first race. Then in the second show, we will focus solely on previewing this weekend. Second her as race. The Andalucia GP so that'll be on the second. Second episode, so if you were really hoping for a lot of motor GP talk this week. You're in luck because you get to episodes, but hey you know what with the wait so long for the season to start and so much has happened that I just think about it is making up for lost time, but before we talk about any of that other stuff. I we are definitely having at least a brief discussion about. Hey, whether Marc Marquez. Coming back this weekend at horizon and be whether or not he's completely out of his mind on painkillers right now, so we got to go over. Let's get to it before we get to the rundown though I want to invite you over to the website. If you haven't checked it out yet. Moto Dot net, you can find all of the latest episodes. They're insincere. A ton of. Of episodes right now, that's the best place to go. You can also follow along on twitter and Instagram at Moto Week and most importantly leave those comments on facebook at facebook dot com slash photo dot net in over breaded at our slash mode week Washer. Believe a comment while you're about to find out here because if you tell me what you want to talk about on. On the show Jay, this is our. We're GONNA. Talk about it on the show, so leave those comments. Tell me what you think and if you want to. If you like the show, and you want to no obligation, but if you want to support the program, there is now a patriotic page patriot dot com slash mode weekend. We'll talk more about that in a second all. All right so here it is the rundown everything we're going to talk about on the first episode this week. Starting with Marc Marquez is he seriously coming back to race in harass this weekend? We don't really know, but we're going to talk about the possibility. The advantages and disadvantages of mark coming back as soon as humanly PAS actually as soon as in humanly possible to race. Race then we'll dive into your comments about the season opener and Bob IOS win, and a lot of people agreed on the surprise writer of the race. Even though that rider didn't really get any screen time, so we'll chat about that guy. Then this'll mark marquess situation. What could he have done differently and more importantly? Could this affect them not just this season, but could affect him. Him. Long term and those sound like two very basic topics, but trust me. There are a lot of comments and we're going to dive into that We'll also talk about the broadcast of the first race of the season with a really good watching tip that somebody brought up in the kind of stumbled across it, but it's a really good thing to talk about something i. I, kind of took for granted, but it really adds to your enjoyment of especially free practice three in qualifying. If you're a newer viewer, maybe weren't paying attention to everything on the screen before, so we'll chat about that that we've got some coty drama and Andre. Co, so we're GONNA talk about a little bit of Moto America and then lots of pics and videos that will. Will wrap up the first episode of the show. Remember, there's going to be an entirely different show where we'll do our normal preview of this weekend's race, which is round, three of the world championship, but only race to of the MO GPC's in So make sure you listen to that episode as well after we're done with this one art so before we get to comments. Is Marquez Seriously Z. legitimately coming back to race this weekend in harass well, there are rumors. Yes, yes, there definitely are even though mark broke his humorous. That's the big bone between your shoulder and your elbow and he had to have surgery to put it back in place, and they put a titanium plate into repair it now. He had that surgery Tuesday race weekend starts Friday three days later, and they're talking about the possibility. That mark could show up and try to get medically cleared to race. Now. This option I think is really even on the table at all. For Two reasons number one mark did not injure his radio nerve and I had this great news at his huge news, because then that means that he won't be impeded in terms of recovery time for a his motor skills in his right hand number one number two apparently I guess. Honda has one of those rejuvenation chambers that they used. Used in star wars because they were already immediately after the surgery starting to Kinda talk about a fifty fifty shot of him coming back in Brno, which would be crazy enough because that's only a couple of weeks away and I think those two things, and when I say that I don't mean the star wars bid but the nod injuring his radial nerve and the targeting of Bruno right off the bat. I think that those two things are kind of at work here I I think that's why the option exists because that means that both mark and Honda are still thinking realistically about making a run for the championship, and if that's the case, well, then every point matters hence the desire to get back on the bike this weekend. They'll obviously if mark raced Sunday, he would not be anywhere close to one hundred percent. Any obviously wouldn't win the race at all now I say that understanding the whole video game mode. He kicked last week. But the point would be I think just to be careful. Finish the race and get at least some points to help lessen that whole to the Yamaha riders a little bit, and if if mark could physically make it the race, and if this isn't even bigger if he could stick to that plan of being very very cautious and just making it to the end. Well then I guess I could see maybe an outside shot of him running this race I mean it would be absolutely bat shit, crazy surfer. The kids out there. But I guess it would be realistic I mean especially when you consider that every single rider that made it to the end of says last week score points. Now of course, the reason that every finisher score points because so many other writers fell down in the hot tricky conditions including mark himself, and that's the fire that they're playing with here. Potentially, that's the other side of the coin because if he makes it to the end, maybe it's a little bit of confidence. Maybe gets a couple of points a handful of points, but if mark can't stick to that plan and take it easy. Within he could very easily. We saw this last week all weekend long. He could very easily wreck and make things way worse. So knowing that they're kind of looking at Bruno, which means they're still realistically looking at the season, but also understanding that he could really really hurt himself if something goes wrong, what's going to happen while? Tell you what I think. I think that mark will show up to the track tracking Harare I. Think he'll be there and really why not I mean!.

"Cod establish at least a little bit of doubt in their minds that maybe they shouldn't have cast them aside so easily on the next to keep an eye out for this weekend. Franken Morbidelli in there are a couple of reasons for that. Not The least of which is the fact that Franco did pretty well in the test yesterday. Look quite good, but the other thing. Most people remember that Fabio Quash Arare shocked everyone by qualifying on the pole last year and her as but you remember who was right beside him on the front row. Tried it was his teammate Franco Morbidelli he ended up finishing seventh in that race last year. Not Great, but not that, either and in his rookie season he was night, that was his second best finish of the year on an admittedly terrible Mark v offering, so he's not bad at this track with the security of the new patrol contract in place and a year of experience, both on the Amaha. AM with that Petronas, team? Team, this could be a great opportunity for Franco to start off the season on the right foot with a surprising finish, and try to separate himself a little bit from just being seen as the guy who's living in Fabio. Quote Harare's shadow so this could be a pretty good race from a very important potentially race for him a two more riders on our list to keep an eye out for this weekend Joy Amir. Mir isn't necessarily the first router. You would think of as being a surprise finisher at Harare's, but he definitely should be on the radar of this Zouqi of course in general itself to this track. We've already established that we saw that last year with Alex Rings. A second place finish and Andre. The year before that on the podium for Suzuki enjoy, Amir, was decidedly better, both in terms of results and confidence, and that's a real important part confidence to at the end of last year after he came back from the Bruno wreck, and that lung injury you couple that with the security of his new contract kind of taking the pressure off, and the fact that it did make you to in Haraz last season and finished top ten in this post. Injuries stint at similar tracks like San. Marino I'm Otegi. In Valencia, am Meer provides a really nice sleeper candidate for give, and I will tell you go back. Go to those numbers from yesterday's test. In look for show Amir's numbers, they were quite impressive. In fact, his multi-lap runs were better than Alex Rinse, so he's definitely a guy with some serious surprised potential. Come this weekend, of course if you're really really looking for a sleeper. Than pull a SPAGO is going to be your I'm sure this is not a KTM track, but when you're talking about confidence. Poll is GonNa Bring Tons and tons of confidence into this race. We saw that in yesterday's test. In that first session, he went right out and shot right up to the top of the charts, obviously didn't last, but my guess is that he got to that point really because the confidence, and who could blame I mean I mean obviously Katie him is making the bike better as well. Well, but I mean this confidence has to be through the roof. If you were a writer Emoji, Peon, you knew that you were picked over everybody else in the paddock to be Marquez's teammate that they have as much faith in you as they did. In Lorenzo, the year before not knowing he was going to implode, and that demoted Marquez is own brother just to make room for you. Be Feeling pretty good to right about now definitely validates your ability. It'll feed your ego to and I'm pretty sure it'll make your race a little bit better or at least a little bit harder to prove the everybody else that. Yeah, I deserve to be the guy that got picked to be on the Honda and with new chassis, potentially handling a little. Little bit better than it did in the past. That could be enough to give Paul the chance to do something surprising this weekend, although based on what we saw all later on in the test yesterday when it got really hot out, I'm not going to hold my breath for poll to be a top five Ryder, but it's. He's got an outside shot. At a finish better than maybe we expected from him. So those are the other riders I have on my watch list this weekend, which means that we only have one thing left to do, and it's the part of the show that I dread the most when we're going into a race weekend. I gotta try to make some picks here, and since we might have some new listeners since last season I will give out the disclaimer normally. Keep at least once or twice a year. That if you happen to be a betting person, and there's nothing wrong with that, but if you happen to be never ever use my picks as a basis for any kind of wager, unless you like losing your money, in which case by all means go ahead and do it so here. They are my top five riders for the Twenty Twenty season opener this weekend in her as finishing fifth for me. Valentino Rossi. And I know for fans of the doctor. They're cringing right now. Maybe thrown their shoe at the Monitor Hey considering the competition, and considering where he is right now fifth would be a very good result for him and for Yamaha. He's got so much experience. He's had so much success over the years. That I think that's a good place for him to shoot born. I think he's capable of finishing their as well so it's fifth-place for me in fourth this weekend. Alex Rinse and this was a tough one. Because I almost I almost picked Joanne Mir after that test to finish fourth, but instead I'm gonNA. Go with Rennes here just because he hasn't been the center of attention and just because maybe he didn't top the charts yesterday in the test doesn't mean he's not still capable of a podium. This is a good track for him A. A good track for Suzuki and I think he's got a great shot at getting close to if not on the podium, but I'm going to pick him fourth. And that brings us to our top three on the podium in third, and this was a very very close one for me between all of these three guys but I'm GonNa go and Third Maverick,.

"Black Nannies out watching birds, so that whole interaction is like ver very modern day Karen, but this is another one that was super famous. The called her barbecue becky. It was back in two thousand eighteen, and she walked up in a park and called the police on a group of black people that were barbecuing and public park, claiming that they were breaking the law and she. Called once and then call back two hours later, and at that point, there is like an all out. Verbal fight between the people who are like. Why are you calling the police on us and this woman? And at first she was like super assertive. COPS have to come. They're breaking the law. They shouldn't have a grill in the park and by the end when the police come, she's like eight years crying about how he's being harassed. And it was. It's so. Seen. But I watch a whole video. They have They have the whole nine one one call. That is recorded and they released it. It's just absolutely insane. What did the police say? So the so. Yeah the second time she called back. She's talking to a woman who is like okay. Can you describe yourself, so we can find you. And she's like well. I got brown hair and blue sweatshirt, and like take okay. What race are you? She's like my race doesn't matter my race. You wouldn't say Jerez and she was like thinking hysterical, and she kept saying that the people were black that were grilling. Please said that she was so erotic that they took her in for a fifty one fifty evaluation and that. One operator asked her if she'd ever been in a mental facility. Responsible and she was like. The operator was like it sounds like you guys are in proximity. Can you just walk away from the situation? And she refused to walk away the opposite. You can just leave the park. And you know, and then it won't be a problem anymore..

"I didn't think there was anything wrong with it. I was told her it was all natural tested. And tell me and they found yeah bad substances in there while if you believe him and it's perfectly plausible to believe that he didn't know what was in it but he took it and he tested positive in not knowing was not a suitable. Excuse I don't see how it could be in this situation either. I don't see how they would change their outlook between then and now But you know especially without some actual evidence in posting an optimistic Selfie with were Lorenzo at the lake doesn't constitute evidence by the way but without any hard evidence the best I would think they could hope for is for the suspension to be reduced to something like a year that would allow him to be eligible to race in two thousand twenty one and I still think that is what they're aiming for and I think that would probably be the best scenario remember. I'm not trying to be mean I'm not trying to Bash Andre in here. I mean I think the guy deserves a chance to revitalize his career if teams want him and to lock him out of two thousand twenty one would be a bit harsh since especially whatever it was that caused him to test. Positive certainly wasn't enhancing his performance. You know so I mean if you were winning races left and right well you gotta throw the book at him but let's face it. He wasn't doing very well at all. And so if it probably is really that dead set on having him in two thousand twenty one suspended for a year make him sit out twenty twenty. He'll definitely learned his lesson and then he can come back in two thousand twenty. One probably thinks he's going to do awesome within there. You go you know so but there. There is going to be something here. It's going to be some sort of punishment that extends beyond the time right now when nobody is able to run races. And it's hard to argue against it. I mean when you're a high paid athletes in the highest level of your sport especially a sport as competitive as motor. Gp is you need to take every precaution possible to protect that position and those all important sponsorships which we all know. He's got plenty of in Italy and you have to do that. In terms of performance in terms of effort and in terms of what goes into your body if there are rules about and goes back to rich people in roles sometimes. It's hard to get them to know the understand that they're going to be held to those rules and this is a tough case. You know for him because who knows he may legitimately not have known what was going on and he's going to get punished because of it or he may have absolutely known what was going on and he's going to get punished for but one way or the other. That gray area means that. They can't not do something they've got to do something so it would be very interesting to see. We're not gonNA find out right away because even if the appeal is filed Monday which I have a suspicion that it will be. It's GonNa take a little bit of time. I mean they're probably GonNa take most of the twenty days maybe a week or two to get to a decision. So we're probably not gonNA find out until mid to late early later in. May what the situation is but we will one hundred percent find out before we actually go racing in July So that's it for this episode of the show. I knew that we were GONNA go really really long and and we have so what we're going to do next up comments pictures and more. We're going to go over all of your comments plus the latest motor. Gp Schedule News There is a meeting. That's supposed to be Monday between Dorna and Spain. I don't know if we're GONNA have a decision made by the next show but maybe maybe we will. Of course we'll find out more about the Andrea you know in a appeal if that's filed on Monday and we still. We still have to talk about. Hey Lorenzo especially now with the big news of the Rossi. Patrolling Steel being close to done. What's going to happen with Lorenzo if Lorenzo to come back and it's a big if where would he go and would Yamaha back him and do you think that the Rossi Petronas steel is clear to us that. Lorenzo is satisfied just being wildcard rider and test.

"Wash your hands or cover your face do it anyway. Just wear a motorcycle helmet everywhere you go. I've been doing that for years. And they finally stopped looking at me funny But the upside of easing of all the rules we may we may be able to actually go motor. Gp Racing Dorna is in advanced talks right now to get the season started midway through July will over the plan on the show today the good points as well as where the potential traps might be hidden. Plus there was a sudden rashes. Silly season news this week From the latest signing to some rumors about what might happen in what could have been have. Maybe one or two signings gone differently. Although there's an asterix next to that but I'll explain what I mean when we get to. And that's not the biggest drama because the Andrea you know and a appeal will be filed sometime in the next seven days probably early in the week so obviously we have to talk about that fact. We've got so much news to talk about this week. And the show is so late and I apologize for that. Were work with shockingly busy the past four or five days or so But because of all of that we're actually going to split things up because you guys posted a lot of great stuff rated and facebook and I want to make sure that we get to those comments and give those comments proper attention so we'll just do news right now in this episode and then while you're listening to this then we'll start putting together one on the comments in the second show after this one so Here's what we're going to talk about that. Although before we get to the rundown I do want to invite you over to the website if you haven't checked it out yet at Moto Week Dot net. All of the latest episodes are there. You can also follow along on twitter instagram at Moto. Weak and most importantly like the show and leave your comments on facebook at facebook dot com slash motor week dot net. Do Favor when you get there cooked thumbs up and then join in the conversation an umbrella at our slash. Modo week subscribe to the form and then dive into the conversation. Pictures videos anything you want to talk about is fair game there and we are going to start the second round of the motor. Gp Nineteen Challenge. I will go to Thailand will do that on again. I I was just surprisingly busy the past couple of days so I haven't been able to put together the scores from the first round yet but I'll do that will get that all going on Reddit as well so our slash motoric art so here. It is the rundown just about everything we're going to talk about on this episode of the show and we're going to start with the latest motor. Gp Schedule News because we may actually be going racing We'll talk about the plan and why it looks like Dorna is taking the right approach in this went along with what might hold things up. And then we'll start to talk about what might be coming up after the first two rounds. Because that's all that they've been talking about so far is just running her as two rounds and nothing has been laid out beyond that. So we'll talk about what might happen. there was another round of virtual. Motogp erases last weekend. But don't don't worry the discussion that's going to be very short about that and then we'll dive into the GP news and some silly season fun. Suzuki completing their twenty twenty. One Lineup Joanne. Me Or was that a good move or not. Well we'll discuss it. A Valentino Rossi. Deal is nearly done. Reportedly we'll discuss the details. And what do you think about police spago going the Honda well? He talked about that this week. I'm in civil. Go from the rumors that have been discussed to a little bit of drama. And we'll talk about what could have been had things gone differently with either. Marquez or maverick Daniela's and along with that what happens next for Andre the video so that Kinda has to Kati scrambling a little bit. Although let's face it even molded. Upc's and is weird is this one wouldn't be complete without at least a little bit of do. Cardi drama And then we will wrap up the show with even more drama the Andrea. What his team is saying what their approach is going to be and more importantly what their prospects are actually succeeding this week when they do inevitably file their appeal of the team on suspension art. So let's get going with the schedule because we are going racing. Well okay. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We might be going racing and while there are a lot of signs that things will become a reality here in the next couple of months or so there are still a few parts of it up in the air and some major things that are really out of anyone's control. I'm so let's start by looking at the proposal by Dorner and Caramel escalated to the MotoGP season started. And what's on the table right now is to officially start the motogp. Gpc's in July nineteenth at her as with another motor GP round. Also at her as the very next weekend July twenty six and then a world superbike round the weekend after that August second so three straight weekends of racing all at her as the first two motor GPA and presumably motive three and then the last one world superbike supersport and and everybody associated there in addition there will be a test and this is just promoted. Gp. I don't know what world superbike would do. There will be a test the Wednesday before the opening round so that test would be July fifteenth. That will be the first time. The bikes were allowed to hit the track beyond that. Nothing else is officially on the table. Although Carmelo did give out a few details saying that they have started discussions with other countries outside of Spain that they feel are feasible to travel to and they expect to have more details on any future rounds sometime in June and right now the idea seems to be to have world superbike. Kinda shadow the motor GP rounds Like they're planning to do and harass so the tracks that that makes me think that they're going to focus on are the tracks were both series are normally scheduled and then you can do the same thing where you have motor. Gp and the week after that world superbike that allows everything to be spaced out a little bit too now. The track at harass has agreed to join US proposal as well as Lucia which is the region where Peres is in Spain. After all of that it was sent off to the Spanish government for consideration an escalated says. We're going to start talks with the Spanish government this upcoming week so very likely starting Monday. They're going to be serious. Talks about getting this all to happen. I'm so let's talk about the plan and the good points in the bad points because there are sure a lot of positives I think. Gp's approach a first and foremost they're not rushing it and while that may in the NBA frustrating for us and the writers. I'm sure who just wanted to see racing planning right now. The start two months down. The road not only gives during the time to work with local governments to make sure that they have a solid plan in place but it also gives them time to adjust that plan. Should the situation change? Yeah okay so we have to wait a couple of months but it's always better to be safe than sorry when people's health and lives could be at risk That's first thing. The second thing is they can learn from other sports by waiting until the middle of July. And this is something that we talked about on previous episodes. There's no prize. There's not going to be a trophy handed out for the sport. That's I back in action right and with NASCAR here in the United States are going to get back on. Track this week And then other sports like Bundesliga is coming up very soon apparently Syria lollygag. They're all talking about playing again in the next month or so and so during is going to have a good long look at their experiences and what works. And what doesn't and so they're gonNA be able to make sure that their plan is as full proof as possible and if all goes to plan they'll even have formula one weekend to observe in July the weekend before they go racing so I think that is a big big bonus of them being a little bit conservative when it comes to their scheduling on and then it's also smart to focus on a realistic area geographically. Here they know they can physically get to Haraz easily. They know that horizon is interested in hosting race. So why not run multiple races? That takes the pressure off of trying to get every country and every track to cooperate. You know like Formula. One is hoping to do on and especially when it's not just the rules on gatherings you're going to be up against but it's going to be travel regulations as well you know and also like we've talked about before I mean. Nobody wants to see a bunch of races at one place spot when you're taking the fans out of the equation anyway then. A measure of uniqueness is lost at every single track not all of the unique aspects of course but a big part of it. So you know of making up around means two races in a row at harass well. I'd rather have that than not have racing at all or have one race at Horizon. Then have to wait a month or a and a half to find another track. That's willing to have racist could've kept racing and harass you know in that time and we could have at least had some more racing. They can at least had some more TV and sponsorship money coming in and help all of the teams stay viable during this time. So there are some positives to the plan. That's already been laid out by Carmelo and Dorna but not a slam dunk for anyone involved. I mean there are a lot of obstacles and a lot of pitfalls here potentially and the majority of we've got no control over. We have no clue what's going to happen as sports start to get back together. It could incredibly smoothly or there could be problems all over the place. Now that's where the whole getting to watch what happens in other sports thing is critical because I mean the Cliche is true. I mean the best laid plans don't always work here now and just because a plan is in place and it seems really solid while a plan maybe logical but people typically aren't any enemy in this case really isn't logical care who it spreads to or how it spreads or if there's a plan in place to control it or not you know so if everything goes well with those other sports and let's hope they do then it is reinforcement that we can forge ahead but if things go poorly well that could end up putting the brakes motor. Gp and World Superbike and Formula. One and everybody else and the hardest part here is that it takes one hundred percent commitment from everybody in every sport to make things work. Ninety nine point nine percent commitment. It's not gonna fly and that's asking a lot of a bunch of rich people to follow roles strictly follow rules. So it's hard to do when you're talking about rich people don't like to do that. Typically but that's just the first part of the challenge You also have to worry about governments and tracks. They all have to agree although they will have the luxury of seeing some other sports. I man if things go well then. The approval process for the governments in the track should be easy enough but the details still need to be worked out including financial details. Which we'll talk about here more in a minute And speaking of details motor. Gp still needs to.

"Of course you know if Alex is really really bad ad then it might be moot point. I mean I think that mark would be pragmatic enough to not blame Honda. If they say listen he's terrible. We gotta let him go at least not any anymore than he probably thought losing. Lorenzo was a tragedy. I mean yeah. He would have a bit more invested in Alex because they're related but if the results aren't there even Marquez you know he knows how the sport works to. He would know that Honda has to be able to plan toward the future as well as the president right now with him but really if he wanted wanted to. I think that all mark would have to do is flex a little bit of muscle come signing time and there's very little bit Honda do but just forge ahead with Alex regardless if it means they then get to keep mark of course if Alex is good on the bike mountain and this is all a moot point anyway. But it's still fun to discuss and we're going to discuss more or about Alex and the whole situation Repsol Honda in a minute but before we do that there was one post That Christopher made with his thoughts in two thousand nineteen and I wanted to chat about about a couple of these because I like them Christopher thought that the two highlights of the season for him were a marks complete and utter dominance of the premier class and and then be the insanely complex twists and turns of the twenty twenty scillies. Not Twenty twenty one but the but this silly season that came out of nowhere now now when it comes to mark obviously mark was in Santa meany set records for scoring four hundred points in a year and scoring the most points ever in a motor. GP season season. And even though he didn't finish on the podium every single race of the year like you know McCain did in Nineteen ninety-four or Rossi in two thousand and three he came so so. Close wrecking out of the League Texas. That was the only thing that kept him from finishing first or second in every single race of in nineteen race season and that Texas wreck also kept him from tying his own record for wins in a motor. GPC's net thirteen. I mean he was so dominant that in we had the next race this year. That's Kinda strange to think that he missed out on at least talking if not besting his own mark for wins in a season but he did pass. Mike Tale would in career wins. He grabbed fourth on the all-time list with unhealthy NATO well within reach a next season. And really the part with mark that for me was the most impressive and I think something will not get nearly enough credit for because it's not something that's very easy to quantify. Is that team championship. Because he snagged Baghdad Valencia despite only getting twenty eight points all season long from where he Lorenzo and ten points from Steph. Brattle he did all of the rest himself. So so I mean when you think about that in perspective and look at the numbers and you guys know how much I love numbers the second seat Repsol Honda in two thousand nineteen produced two points per race thirty points nineteen races easy math two points per race and yet despite the fact that the second Repsol Honda seed Averaged Bridge Dave Fourteenth Place Finish all year long. They still beat out the factory team for the championship and was a factory team team. That scored three wins. Twelve podiums and the riders finished second and sixth in the championship. That's how big sees Marc Marquez. Had and that's how impressive that feet was and like I said because it's really hard to quantify I don't think he'll get nearly as much credit for the future as he should because that's probably what he did. There was probably harder to do than simply winning the championship itself. It's crazy and then when you get to the silly season that that was really the big surprise prize of two thousand nineteen wasn't it. I mean next year next year was supposed to be the one with all of the dramas. The teams and riders battled for contracts heading into twenty twenty one. This year was supposed to be nothing incredibly boring outside of that one factory to Cadiz it up for grabs which was wrapped up a four even got to the halfway point of the season with Dinner Literature Ritchie. But who knew do that. It was gonNA suddenly get so silly this season. joins ARCO quitting the Lorenzo retirement. Rumors that started before the mid season break were denied time after time and then were brought back up again when Zarko magically returned with Honda and then the subsequent retirement announcement from Lorenzo so and the tons of drama and speculation surrounding both of their respective replacements and on top of that we had two riders that already had signed and done deals Emoto to suddenly getting promoted to motor GP and Alex Marquez. And WanNa and that's leaving out the whole Brad Bender thing who had signed three three a done deal and they got moved up to the factory team and we're not even done yet means Arco still doesn't have a ride anywhere and the only thing the only thing that was decided before the summer break the thing that seemed to start and end two thousand twenty silly season at all that factory to Kati. Signing of Danilo Petrosky mom. That was the topic of debate bait and conversation at the end of the season and then of course the whole itchy to Qadi thing I mean. Contracts don't really seem to count for a whole lot this year and we're we're GonNa talk more about that with a healthy dose of Dukakis drama here in a couple of minutes but if this is what a non critical silly season is like I. I can't wait to see what happens in twenty twenty one. I mean this was the weirdest silly season in a really long time. We saw multiple riders with contracts tracks. And then they just tear them up and walk away or they're the term up agreed they get kicked out. And so I if that's the president then who knows what's going to happen next year. I mean she she delina I think it was either him or Paolucci Body. One of the guys was saying that they really expected did the majority of riders to stay put next year when the signing start happening. Well think about this year. We didn't think there was anybody to move. And and look what's happened so I won't make any assumptions yet. About what silly season twenty twenty one is going to look like Because what we've seen in twenty twenty and speaking of silly season two thousand twenty twenty the silly season that was never supposed to be. Let's move on to talk about it and there are a few more comments that you guys left on Reddit and facebook. That'll bring up as we have this discussion Russian. But I WANNA talk about the story's going into both of these. Were going into the first two tests of the off season one going into Valencia and then one going into harass and these were both really big stories obviously the biggest one and the one that everybody is talking about Repsol all Honda making their decision their swift response to the retirement of Hey Lorenzo immediately picking up Alex Marquess to replace him in the one day they had between the end of the two thousand nineteen season and the start of twenty twenty testing in Valencia. And apparently you know like I said earlier. I don't have nearly as much much influence over Honda as I thought I did. Because they didn't even consider making the Home Office happy and going with Takenaka Gami for the factory ride and they didn't go join Zarko. We either and that one to me was very interesting to and I want to talk about both of those riders along with the rider that they did pick. And instead as you already know it's now in all Marquez has a fair a Repsol Honda Alex joining mark in what is a clear and undeniable effort by Honda. To make sure I can never ever again get through an episode of this show without accidentally referring to one of those brothers as the other most likely calling Alex Mark Mark and I Apologize Thousand Times in advance for the thousand times. I'm liable to do it in fact I already heard somebody else do it. There was an interview on motor. GP DOT COM. And and. Hopefully you guys got the black Friday deal for one dollar. They did it even better this year. Instead of one euro like it normally is it was only one buck here in the United States. Peck of the deal. If you have a video pass hopefully got at them but if you go back and you watch the interview with Alberto Push right after. They made this decision than his explanation. Explanation of why they picked Alex Marquez. One of the reporters the guy immediately to pujols left right on your screen. He did the same thing I did. I didn't feel bad after that. That because that guy the somebody paid for him to go there and hold a microphone and even he multiple times called Alex mark so I feel at least a little bit vindicated for now. I mean a year from now and I'm still doing it when I'm still calling Alex Mark. You guys are allowed to get mad at me at that point all right. So let's start the conversation with the riders is that Honda didn't pick for that second Repsol seat and that starts with talking Nakagomi and you know the main reason that I thought that talk was GonNa get this Gig is because it plays well with the Home Office and because he's already twenty seven and like I talked about on the lascaux which was so long ago. I don't expect you to remember so refresh rush your memory on it at that point. I thought you know if you've got a choice between a really young rider and Alex Marquez. WHO's GONNA still be ready next year at the end the next year and a guy I like talking Nakagomi that the factories obviously behind? But he's twenty seven years old. You know you've got a limited amount of time now to find out if he can really cut it at the highest level so if they we're gonNA give him a shot they might as well do it when the risk is lowest and it really doesn't get any lower than it's going to be for them that season because you know it's a year where they expected acted to have a different rider. There's not a huge market for guys to bring in. So why not. Why not give him? Why not give the hometown guy his shot and find out if he really has what what it takes to ride the factory bike or not but I think that the main thing working against Talka- was really as injury because not only would it have kept him from getting on on the bike and testing right away but it clearly affected his results over the second half of the season and that hurt his stock whether it was due to the injury or not is kind of relevant? Because you know if you're a high powered executive at Honda and you're sitting in a boardroom. In front of a bunch of people wondering why you're spending millions and millions of dollars as you know to keep this program afloat and they say well. Why did you pick this guy? We're looking at the trend. And the line is going downwards from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. They're not gonNA care that he wasn't telling anybody about his injury. They're just going to look at the results and so I think that that really hurt his position and his chances of getting moved up to the factory team. And there's is also one more reason which we'll talk about in the second here Next Vision Zarco. And if I'm being honest here yes I said thought that Gami would get it and I thought that legitimately because because of the connection he has with the Honda factory but the way that Mo- GP works. I was fairly certain though is going to be wrong but I thought I was going to be wrong for Jones Arco. I thought he had a really really good shot to get this ride. You look at the experience you look at the fact that he was desired by everybody in the paddock before he signed with Ktm am and now he's available and you've got a factory seat. I mean Slam Dunk Right. Seemed like it was a perfect match but there are. There are a couple of things that I I think might have heard him as well. The biggest the negotiations or the lack thereof coming into two thousand nineteen. Because Honda was genuinely interested in John's John's Arco at that point.
