"You know like you're. Anyway I don't need to repeat it, but well. It's shock jock stuff. It said that's sort of the way it goes. You know in the trying to provoke. You're trying to create a reaction shock. Everybody shock, your co hosts. Sometimes we'd laugh, but at the same time we'd be like what. An that was kind of the Mo behind. Yeah, A- again. That's the intention Steve What's the intention. It's like it's like people calling people racist. Mark Wahlberg. We talked about that last week. Right with this. They went way back in this guy's history. And they found out somewhere where I beat up a Guy Qazis was agent Asian, and he used the N. Word and stuff and all that but. Now it's okay. He got it was a long time ago. He did he did admit it and stuff like that, but as know the intention now. What? What's wrong intention? And I think I. DO think it's was entertainment value. was entertainment value. The problem again Steve is well we. You know. We gotta make some sort statement here about it and. You listen. Steve People. Don't fire guys don't don't fire guys. If, they're doing well. You know they let them get away with stuff as long as things are going well. So unless there's massive pressure, and and you know one hundred fucking sponsorship deals going south. Right yeah. I'm sure that part of it and that's when. Corporations are most likely to act. The comments offended those offended. Reach out to sponsors. Are you going to put up with this? Because we're not going to buy your product anymore? And that's how the pressure is exerted and I'm sure that that was part of this whole decision by NBC. Jeremy Roenick. Let's be honest. He's not an important enough asset to NBC for them to jump in front of any bullets, and so they took easy Roy out because they probably saved five or six accounts on NBC hockey as far as sponsors go by by making this decision and and sacrificial lamb stuff I guess everyone's replaceable. Steve Everybody Oh for sure. If. The comment is heinous enough. Anybody could be fired by NBC. I'd really nice comments Steve when I got when I got like. There was a bunch of people for years for years. I still get beautiful emails from people saying you know shows never the same and all this shit, then I don't listen anymore and all that stuff right and that's all great, but but if that were true, right, there wouldn't be a show right now on that station. There's still his life goes on. fucking went from three guys to to to you. And whoever else over the years still there, that's that's one of the longest running fucking morning shows in the world. Yup Right. They retired the name T. or by the way with me, so they just call it. tsn Mornings now. which was kind of a nice thing but when I was covering the smiths falls bears of the C. C. H. L. Back in the day, and I was like in my early twenties at that stage is thrilled to be in radio, thrilled to be doing regular coverage of a junior hockey team and uneven, doing some traveling with and was great, and the coach of the Smiths falls bears said to me one time because he had to step away for a game or two and stuff. I feel but that and he says you know what because there's a really important family thing that he had to get to. He said this. The graveyards full of people who thought they were replaceable, right? That was such a great line and it certainly a hell of a line. Words live by right it's. Just one of those things where you'll focus on everything you feel like you're an irreplaceable asset. Everything will come to an end. You working life your life period, so make it count, and and again my my whole take on this thing is you know. Give give NBC a break here. Okay? At some point, some judge somewhere has got to say no. They fucked. They hired. You paid you tons of dough. Okay! You're into this fine line, maybe this area, but but I'm not always going to hammer the company. Okay, I see I can see their side here. I can see their side. Okay that that we're taking too much of a chance on you, and that's why we're letting you go fuck. You don't penalize them for all the fucking time. I'd be so pissed. Steve I owned a company and every time the lawyer came in and said you got no chancer. You got no chance. Of someone. Trying to release someone for no compensation, right? You don't have fucking frustrating. That would be right, oh. Okay well, take time out on the show and come back. For the Edmonton Eskimos That name is not apparently and we'll talk a little bit about that and what they might next be called after these words if you're a loyal listener, you've probably heard me on this podcast before. I'm Jay Gerard. Ontario also big fan of the show. If you are to, we'll probably get along..

"Emerges as this brilliant strategist and his brilliant like Bob Snared Castro strategists care always mistaken for Bella check. Pick up but judge Joe Judges The guy you think it's too late now right. There's no openings billy. O'Brien gets fired as you said it looks. It's all set the only at five openings. All all white guys. Yes I know Ron Rivera was higher redskins. Yeah he's black. He's not a person of color. I believe it was panic. Yeah that's good. Yeah after on up on my twitter but we'll see you. Oh you want like retreads. No I want New People to get opportunities which is why I want more again coaches and outside of this now we get to your solution in yours. If you haven't read Alex Column. He's he's got a solution. You make a rule that forces teams to hire black coaches. Why say those were unusual? I'm operating appear everyone else's down here right because the other point is of course that would never happen. I don't think owners who operate their teams as a Thomas entities by the way okay except for the TV revenue. All these great capitalist men split it like Socialists. I love that but besides that how would it work. I'm still trying to figure out that the rule would call it. What the the the reamer rule? Yes and an opening will come up and the team would have to hire black coach. You would have to have a certain amount of black coaches or minority coaches on your staff. So it's not the head coach. Just a certain amount on your team has twenty five coaches. I haven't I haven't mentioned numbers yet. Seventy Percent Lot Birmingham -firmative that is how a lot of affirmative action programs work right. You set limits because people are getting opportunities. So how do you eliminate the opportunity gap you put in mandates sats. How you if you actually want all member? That is what you haven't percents. I'm not willing to comment on that. This plan is still under development. And when you have it's a it's a it's a philosophical question Jerry if you want to close an opportunity gap. How do you do that? You Institute mandates to get disability. He knows an opening say like the Patriots and Bill Checks available in Lawrence. Taylor is available. You would say the rule would say you have to hire Lawrence Taylor. No the rule would say have X.. Amount of coaches on your staff. I don't know what that number is. No but you have to have a certain amount on your but obviously they'll never happen because the owners would never go for it to get delicate. Never propose something like that and the owners go against it. The optics would be awful so it's never going to happen. They're going to do what you should if you want to be realistic. Make the Rooney rule applied to assistant coaches. That would would make sense. It'd be more guys getting that interviewing experience. It wouldn't be as high profile but it's something that they could. Do you remember when they drafted. I I don't know if you remember this Michael. Sam drafted ramp okay. The intersection of sports and culture. That's right we all agree. I I am Sam was a stiff. He couldn't play but I never saw him playing he. The rams did a favor for the league. The League wanted him drafted. They wanted wanted to appear enlightened in woken and they drafted him in the sixth round. Was it yeah. So he ended up. He was a bust. Couldn't play it all. They knew it but they said answer late late round pick it will keep everyone happy. ESPN was happy. They hit him kissing his boyfriend at the you know when he got the news and everyone all in all the the media with thrilled. You were happy right. I was very thrilled thrilled. I just coming out myself at the time so inspiring that Michael inspired you know but I was I was I was the first year I was actually. Actually I think yeah. Where does their team fourteen? I don't know so. He was obviously just a token away. He couldn't play. They knew it but they drafted him anyway to advance the the cause. And you're okay with that. I don't know if that's true or not. You know those theories. Why cadel told the Rams out to Michael Sam and on hard knocks or something like that I? I thought he was gonNA wasn't he the big twelve defensive player of the year right. Yes yeah so maybe. They thought he was sending me because he was on the SEC but he was on the other side the other side of the The the other end was guy played for the Patriots. Play for the jets. And he was a stud and so he freed beat him up to rush the passer and he had a bunch of Saxe but everybody in football knew we couldn't play everyone knew and they didn't want to appear that they were discriminating against him by not drafting him so they drafted him late cut him and everyone was happy. I guess it'll appear like that. It'll be the league will make some kind of I don't know if it'll be mandated they'll be telling teams you have to do this the pressures on they pressures on from Alex Reamer and Adam Schefter and Peter King and so many others. You have to do so I think you'll you'll be on the right side of history. Oh as usual I always yes. I think you're GONNA get your green new deal but you're going to get your new Rooney. The enemy gets hired. It's worth it. I'd sacrifice degree new. I don't know where We'll end end up if he has another week like he did yesterday. Another game like he ended yesterday I'm rooting for them. By the way lots of people rooting for Tennessee. Why you WANNA see a guy run the ball thirty five times take? Here's what I do when I have no team in the playoffs. I root for quarterbacks I like watching good quarterbacks. Lamar Jackson was a blast to watch. Why would you want him out? Why Defense I mean run the ball? Oh Oh that's that's manly and Macho defense and run the ball. UH-HUH I was rooting. I mean don't Rufa Jim John Harbaugh certainly don't Roofer. You Know Baltimore for John Harbaugh. I mean he's seems like a dink deflate gate. But I do roof Lamar Jackson. I mean he is the greatest running quarterback I've ever seen. He's fast like vic but he's got moves like I mean real moves is he can just you guys out of their shoes. It's fun to watch minus Ryan Tannehill every quarterback right. That's involved right. Tam Do anything he just doesn't screwed up. Tannehill is getting being like the best publicity for doing the exact same thing. He did love it if he made more than generating gifts. You get used to it because if he wins I don't think he will. But if he wins what are they. Touchdown underdog. He goes back to Miami to play the Super Bowl. I don't want that you really want Derrick Henry running bull run the ball three times in the super bowl is that a real story is that would that be a real storyline. The return of Ryan. Tannehill me. Hey how sad is that. I want to see Patrick Mahomes Travis. Kelsey and tyree kill in the Super Bowl of ours. You really don't want that showed. Oh that that is the greatest show on turf right now. and I wouldn't mind seeing Jimmy Garoppolo against him but Jimmy Garoppolo did did nothing the other day. Nothing basically glorified managers while the same as Ryan turntable over he's overrated Jimmy. Lloyd decided that decided that yeah. I think he's turnovers from me. I wanted I thought they could've traded Garoppolo to Houston for the pick became to Shawn Watson the tenth or Twelfth Pick. That's when I I was rooting for. I still think he could bell. Chick took a second round pick out of spite. He wasn't happy that he had to trade him so we just traded him to the NFC got a second round pick pick clearly. It wasn't enough but I mean I like watching Shawn Watson played too but he's not on the same level as Patrick Mahomes. It's just not now because there's an Eric b the enemies but you watched Watson yesterday and I don't know if the term is happy feet but every time he dropped back he was jumping around thinking. What about running the ball mahomes drop species great runner too but his first thought is to chuck it? Yeah and you have to do that. Nfl I mean. I think Shawn Watson you know in college could run against anybody and it was just a great weapon. It's not doesn't work that way in the NFL. No it doesn't accept Lamar Jackson again. No Saturday twelve one hundred yards on the ground and he. He was not good though now throwing the ball he choked. I mean the ravens choices that I mean I think that comes with being the first seed planted home. Everyone's expecting you to the Super Bowl. They the pressure got to them but if the titans. AFC just seems so weird like Ravens Titans to me right. That's like a one o'clock game with Dan fouts and you're like like I'll skip those folks. I mean watching Lamar Jackson. Those guys I mean he doesn't he doesn't have the weapons the mahomes either but I think mahomes against either Aaron Rodgers or Jimmy Garoppolo. It'd be is a damn good would be very good. TV The as you said the only one who could screw up a super bowl. I think of the titans well. If you're in Boston Sports Talk Radio Still Jerry. You would want a titans for the united suit. Y Jimmy Rabl able come. I don't care nothing against a nothing against A Ryan Tannehill or or Logan Ryan Bogan Ryan. I mean I don't WanNa hear all these these tributes to the The smashmouth titans and now the old fashioned and that kind of thing I like when teams throw it fifty times I like watching. What moms did yesterday? That's funny you were you. Were you be missing out on the Super Bowl this year. Me Not going. Oh yes you're going missing only went when the Patriots were in it so I wouldn't career. Saudi invited US last week straight weeks. Who des Yeah some- somebody we know war? Don't you could get us a room and they were working on getting credentials. And I'm like talk is weeks away so we're not going. You should have said yes what I mean I never rarely as I can't believe you're now that is the strangest thing gets everyone. TURNS THIRTY GETS married. Has Children kids any he said. Here Nazis still gets drunk and jumps on cars. Well I want to jump on Christ I still get drawn drink to get drunk. That's the do you think eshelman jumping like jumped up and down around. Why don't we have video? Why doesn't teams video? He was part Oh he was obviously partying and that's his staples like splint crazy. Everyone is a phone. You're on would ever Rodeo drive. WHATEVER SUNSET BOULEVARD IN LA partying with Paul Pierce? Somebody can't catch that on video. What's what's his peers video point? Is there anything on that or no. Just Kim.

"Then and the excitement Bernie the most donations from young people the most non white supporters burning the. Yeah and you think an easy all he would wall up trump in general dealt. I'm so convinced of it. He's the only one not lame that's the thing he trump you. Think trump got sixty three million votes. You'd think more than sixty five million people will vote for communist not a communist is and yes they will yes. I mean. Those debates will be priceless. Priceless but I do think the same excitement for Bernie is there now than there was. I wanted yes really. Yes yes I don't feel that at all right now. AFC endorsed him. I Omar endorsed him. Tweeden dorsal so alonzo was roaming the streets of Boston Presley. You're you're I did not. I could not make it now real Jimmy rallies you. I should've been there in a Omar had it had an event together. You should have attended this woman yeah she's your congresswoman. How come they were opinion? I think it was a day of mourning. Now I remember but just keep messing in an up replacements named Salami. Oh he's he's he's next on the death list by the way and I. I'm more convinced than ever that you and your our people are rooting for Iran. You hate trump so much that you're disappointed the at a great week. You're disappointed that no Americans are no allies. died in in these in these missile attacks. You want so badly for trump to have a bad guy when I love this fair so childish. I mean you can't say this guy who obviously obviously had no idea who Salvemini is. He can barely spell Iran. I mean he orders a missile at. MSNBC report in his Pajama Pants. So the second most powerful guy. You've read the country you brought up. He killed terrorist. That's a good thing right. Alex see but the world doesn't exist in a vacuum Jerry. They're good to actions. Is it a good thing in a vacuum yes us but unfortunately the world does not exist. Was it a good thing. When Obama ordered the hit on bin Laden got a good thing different was that a good? You think different al Qaeda is eight. Jerry yes it was. It's a different thing Jerry I. It is not a sovereign state. We took down the second most powerful guy in Iran they will Iran Mr in retaliation. Iran is a state that sponsors terrorism. This was the leading terrorist in the world. He's a state sponsor. I got new series Jerry State sponsored terrorism if we if we kill where we're GONNA kill we're going to kill the military generals of every single country in the world that sponsors. I'm SORTA Darius it hurts you. Doesn't it that trump had a good week that he get rid of this terrorist that that it's a good thing that the people in Iran people in Tehran are celebrating their celebrating the death of this monster. It's nonsense it's propaganda from the New York Times and an NBC that this was the most revered man in Iran was not like that. But I just keep going back and we go to the central problem. You've been saying for years you want out of the Middle East yet. How does assassinating the second most powerful guy in Iran get us out of the Middle East? Does it does it keep us. There was a drone strike. I love those don't have repercussions in fact obamacare. It was a Bama's thing was you know won't blowing and that's not winning and not as Pakistan. That is a terrible black American and this kid an American kid with a drone strike love. You Act like a man defend a bomb that I'm absolutely not as a black mark. Lamont is record. My Man Obama will defend them. Yeah this alert Larry Harm's way you expand you expand one branch. I want to leave the Middle East. I think this is a good time. They voted us out there celebrating in Iran. Underselling Room. What we did? I'm leaving. I'm leaving. Here's the thing we're not gonNA leave the Middle East. Probably not use parliament votes out in Iraq. Trump goes no. Now we're we're GONNA threaten to take them out what we should is tiring going on the new green new deal and they're going to lead to the they're causing this apocalyptic climate change. Why don't we take China as if it's existential threat? That's what I keep hearing. That means life or death right so if what China's doing in India's doing it let's leading to the death of all of us. Why don't we attack them? How many times tomorrow do you think Democrats can say the words existential on a debate? Stage the Knicks debates Tuesday. Tomorrow WPRO Tuesday Callahan. PODCAST watch party. Sure right here. Your House Jerry Come on over Alex. I'll be watching. I love watch I am this I I. It's a quandary for me because I want trump versus warren. That would be. I can't get enough of her pain. I want her to suffer. I wanted her to be embarrassed right which which she will be every time she talks. It's embarrassing it's cringe trump against Elizabeth Warren with that will look like the second quarter of the Kansas City. Houston game that will be. Just ask kicking like you've never seen before she won't be able to handle it. I need that I want. I think trump would beat Warren. I mean it's like embarrassing it's like it's not it's Bernie Sanders offers is is the guy who's who can take that energy he actually believed guy so detestable why so detestable. Because he's he's because my question with Buddha judges what why are you running for president like what is your. Why do you not goes of course but I know why Bernie Sanders is running? Doesn't want to get into politics. The beginning he doesn't always been fighting ever Torino shoes. Do you know what he says. He advocates on behalf of good of of good causes. What's wrong? He was kicked out of a commune because he refused to do his chores. When he was young he was literally a Communist? Who wouldn't do is always a born leader or net and they kicked him out but but you know Buddha judge is I think your best shot of winning the general election? He can't win Election Indiana. I mean.

"Just put it up for sale in the genome at. Yeah Well that'd be a great moment talk here as we Jump into things here but great sports moments of the last decade. What would be yours before we do that? Steve just talk for a second about College football okay. So there's a couple of bowl games on today. Okay when we record the Rose Bowl sugar bowl is on right now. We're doing this late on Tuesday night and so I- tuned in Stevie. Okay call it. US College football. Steve Steve is boring. It's boring man once you watch the NFL which tightly tuned into as you know the NFL L. College football both those bowl games. They're just I don't know I don't know if I mean college fans are GonNa Freak out when they say that in fact they run the same play all all the time the the the. There's not much I don't know there's not much to exciting offense that they do my wrong there. I can't say that I'm wildly deep in love with college. Football usually watch around this time of year. And certainly I'm going to be there to watch the national championship between Clemson and Lsu. But I can't thank into these bowl games. Just because they mean nothing and that's the bottom line. It's not about the style of play like if I went to one of these schools or had a money on it I think it would be just as entertaining as an NFL game where had no interest in who won one way or the other. But I mean I guess if you look at hockey too right. You'RE GONNA watch junior hockey. Which which which people love and it's not going to be good as NHL? But but I guess you know you're looking at future stars or something but man I just. I watched both games. Watch the Rosebowl and this this brand of football his. It's no good. I don't know anyway. I don't know if there's any other sport like it where you have what are effectively the playoff games citrus bowl rose bowl sugar bowl all happening on New Year's Day but every playoff game usually the winner is off to something else it leads to something else on the flow chart in every case. None of those games meant anything. Yeah I'm the sugar bowl champion and it means a lot of the seniors. It means a lot to the fans of each of those and the students at each of those schools but for everybody else what does that. What does that exactly mean to anybody? So it's I think it's a flawed process from that perspective perspective but I do find the games themselves still pretty exciting. Because everybody's so into it you get the bands in the stands. It's pretty cool that way. Yeah the game. I'm Dave Presentation for sure for sure you know they got. They got thousand people in marching bands. You know it's it's crazy. I've been to a ball logging. I've been live to a college game at Phoenix. I went to and watch. Asu play you know it was. It was great. It was cool to be there. I don't just watch it on TV. I was like okay good. I don't have to worry about college football. Well I think they have it right now at least that they do have kind of a semi final and final championship. CAMPIONSHIPS Games with a true playoff. Not a very long one. But I think I think it's better than it was because in the past east of vote coaches would would vote and whatever your rank. The guy's number one ranked team there. Yeah the champion because we voted you in because you want a football game that was always dumb but was good in the past was that it was so much party or New Year's tradition if it wasn't on New Year's Day the championship game or the game that decided things it would be on the second or the third. You'd like this National Championship Games on January thirteenth. Nothing wrong with that per se I suppose but just from tradition standpoint. I always liked it when things things kind of got wrapped up in and around New Year's Day and it's sort of it's sort of like the player profiles that they do are strictly strictly limited strictly limited to offensive players. You know in college football. It's like this quarterback right here. Okay this just in. But he's he's GonNa maybe make it to the NFL you know. He's been of all pro all college player for whatever Pakistan Guy and this running back here is this guy and and you never like at least an NFL games right the the NFL product is so good the television presentation. You know that you uh-huh got the camera on every single guy at one point at some point right you know you watch an NFL game. I guarantee you. They'll be talking about the old line the D. Line and halfbacks half backs and defensive affect. It's it's good you know there's always something in there but where the guy came from what college and what his contract is or something but college football. It's on it's on two guys. I found anyway. Use the same deal watch for him. was raise up for the HEISMAN. Or whatever did you catch any of that outdoor outdoor. NHL Stuff missed all of it. It's taken on Nashville. Men that ship has sailed for me in terms of The the winter classic. I just okay great it. The Dallas Stars They ended up winning the game. But I'm like watching the thing going. Why are we still doing this? It's like an all star game right. It's cool for whoever's in this whoever's hosting the game but let's be honest I think it's kind of worn edits. Welcome this whole outdoor winter classic thing you know I am dead ass wrong. I've got to admit Because I thought it was brilliant when I went to my first outdoor game and I think it was in Edmonton was the very first one. I think it was called the heritage classic. It was at com. We'll see I remember because I was living in Ottawa but I flew out here. It was Montreal. I remember Josie tater wearing a to go over his schooling mask. Yeah it was freezing cold free like well into into the twenty s minus okay. And 'cause I remember was the only time ever cried without being emotional because I took a bus to the to the stadium from a bar that was right near here with the house hosting and had no hat or coat that well just jump off the bus because I was sitting in a box and but to get to the box ahead to walk around the whole stadium outside and I said I'm going to die. I'M GONNA die. I started crying a little drunk and I started crying. I was holding my years and speaking of Court Jeff cordless brother. I ran into any gave me his hat and he gave me a vest. He's 'cause you're going to die you're GONNA die like the wind. It was like minded twenty but it was like minus forty the wind whistling around the the building but when I saw that game I remember going back on radio saying this. This thing is unbelievable. Achievable this outdoor thing you know. They had even in that cold that stadium. Al Had sixty five or seventy thousand people show up for the game and I said they you gotTa do this man every year and they gotta do it four or five times a year. I said it's just brilliant to do it and I'm dead ASS wrong. I agree with you I agree with you. It's not it doesn't have the panache. Well I wonder what the charm is too because you know. It's one thing to do it in Ottawa. Right or any Canadian market and it's cold in the wintertime. This just in doing this in Dallas like show me what Dallas Stars Fan grew up playing on the on. The outdoor pond or on. The river are an outdoor rink. Like what what charm does it hold for Dallas Stars fans but eighty five thousand piled into the cotton bowl to watch this thing second-largest to attendant. NHL Gel game ever says there's a novelty to it But it still don't know I I it's to me. It's it's done I'm done with it. The Hook originally was University of Michigan Right Michigan did it was the very first university to do it. They played whoever the two big Younis. These were there who I don't Miss Michigan Michigan State when they did that decided to have an outdoor hockey game. There was one hundred and five thousand people or something packed the stadium in the big house. USC Yeah and that was the first time they did it right. And then the NHL Board. That idea. And I remember saying this is the best. This is crazy. All these people and and I agree with you. I don't give a shit I watched it for and I hosted one down in Buffalo. I was part of the production crew did are the it was Pittsburgh and Buffalo. I guess and I was the on Air I was the jumbotron host you know during the game was cool. There's eighty thousand people that was the second second year they did it and it was it was. It was great. But it's done right. Yeah what a what. A what a hassle to do it I you know he probably knows to be tired tired of doing it but I expect so but in a in the they're probably Enrolling in the cash counting their money so They they like it. Just fine it just as a a hockey fan. It's just that ship has sailed for me one of the guys who was not calling the action for NBC For that game Again Dallas wins it. Four to the score Jeremy Roenick and this kind of got lost in our hustle and bustle around. Christmastime happened a couple of days before Christmas. Day and Jeremy Roenick got suspended and it has been suspended indefinitely by NBC for inappropriate comments about Co workers on air. Well it was during it was during a podcast. A A funeral sports podcasts. And chances are you do if you're listening to this one Spitting sicklets is a very popular podcast with Paul Visa. Net and and Ryan Whitney and he made an appearance on that and made some questionable remarks. so He's been suspended without pay. The networks. Got A no comment further at this time. But on the PODCAST Roenick disgust vacation to Portugal. That he had taken with his wife and Catherine Tappan who works with Roenick on NBC. As Patrick Sharp in Anson Carter and he made repeated references to Catherine Tappin and joked okay about the possibility of tapping and his wife and him having sex together. Roenick said they went on vacation together because his wife Tracy and tap and a good friends and when an another resort guests and he's relaying all this on the podcast when another guest at the resort asked about the situation he said I always play it off like we're going to bed together every night. The three of us if it really came to fruition. That would be really good but it's never going to happen even talked about Patrick sharp a little bit. He called Patrick Sharp. So beautiful and said I'd have to think about it. If he asked me I wouldn't say no right away. And so that that was probably the the most dramatic things he had to say the things that got him suspended for his commentary on a podcast. What do you think Before you give your opinion let me give you the full story. Because Catherine Taryn Okay Catharine. Tappin did respond. She released a statement right after a couple of days after it happened. I think she said while Jeremy and I continue to be good friends what he said was unacceptable especially among workplace colleagues. I do not condone don his comments and Yeah that's all I got. And that's what's happened had to say. Yeah Steve I I disagree with her even though she was the subject of it so Roenick could soak in the podcast so but NBC hears it and says okay. We can't characterize ourselves that way right. That's always the statement right. It doesn't look like in any way shape performed perform catherine tap and was the one who initiated like a complaint about it and went to NBC human resources or anything like that. It looks like it's a pretty popular. PODCAST is probably the number one sports podcast in America right now and so it gets out there. NBC finds out and takes action. Yeah I think it's over the top you know oh I think it's you know. Forget the fact that NBC NBC suspensive. Forget that okay I think for a second you know. Let's just talk about what he said. Okay I don't want to argue with whether NBC should suspend them or not that's a totally different pile of stuff that they're dealing with right. They got corporate sponsors. They got a business so I understand even the Don Cherry thing. I disagreed with them doing it but I understand why they have to..

"Five former NHL star in Boston native Jeremy Roenick sent to the penalty box by NBC sports the hockey analysts sidelined for inappropriate comments he made about his co worker Kathryn Tappen Roenick making the comments in a barstool sports podcast and quickly praising Tappan as being one of the most professional sports personalities that he knows Roenick has been with NBC sports since two thousand ten after more than twenty years in the

jim rome 'cause i know comfortable in the studio i always wear with catchers it's your job because i'm sitting right next to you and that's what i'm saying it very good fuck you quite the trip this summer i did my my whole life is a chip but i did go on a on a car you trip not a work trip that was a huge trip i went with my wife and catherine tappin i was the king of portugal though i swear to god i heard it's phenomenal when you walk into every place and you have to blonde bombshells on each side and nobody nobody i'm telling you your chest pops all why because they don't even know who they are over there so they're just like who's this women what's who's that guy that guy must be somebody on my boss damn yet them rights so i walk it it was so funny i was in the pool we're in the pool one day in in portugal and we're down the algarve and nice little nice little hotel beautiful resort and it's a small little pool and swim with my my wife and catherine and they've got their bikinis on they'd look could smokin right kid be careful no everywhere it's great it's great great by the way if you're going to go with to show some place like in the summer where the pool is out ob catherine awesome co worker earns gratiot like your daughter tell you to tell you the story so all of a sudden this this this older lady was sitting there with her husband and she she's staring at us the whole time and i get in staring us the whole time and you know finally i think her curiosity rose to a level where she's like go figure out what the hell is going on here and she walked right into the pool and comes right up to us and say okay what's the situation i tell me tell me what's going on and you know to i wanna backpackers that's what's going on right now i just said i'm just having a very very wonderful trip that's what i said to her and she's like they are they both with you and i said yes they are and then katherine gives your live there katherine says we shut up she she starts yelling at me i play it off like you know we're going to bed ad together all every night that the three of us and my wife and catherine of very close friends and they scream and yell at me but listen it's worth the yelling there's no question absolutely louis and how it came to for wishing that would be really be good but it's never gonna happen so god no did you ever have conversations with her about how harder it is to be female and in a in a male dominated industry you know she she talks about it all the time katherine katherine talks about it all the time she's she doesn't give a shit though he's comes off as rural i'm telling you right now catherine tappan is one of the most professional people in all i'm i'm saying not women men just across the board one of the most professional sports personalities that i know and you know whether it's doing in football going whether it's NFL are going to do the notre dame games she is as prepared as anyone her personal life takes a backseat to her to her to her her what she does for television she has she wants people to respect her for her knowledge of of sports not just because she's a pretty face and you know oh and i think she really really really cares about that and she wants to make sure that she's not going to get pushed around anything she is true blue one of my favorite people in the world and i'm lucky see that i'm next to her and she's a good friend of mine because there's there's nobody that wants more and that will kick someone's ass if they disrespect her my my my whole like beginning into into like media world she got me the job at NHL network which started everything so we're going to sit down with her we hope we are at the winter classic where we'll see you you in dallas but i i think it's long overdue that we chat with absolutely crushing he's i mean i've seen since day one she was witnessing boston dot com on raleigh just getting into it and butcher names a literally upside and she's gotten unbelievable level she's at right now i mean she's like the queen of NBC right i still put it you names i put your english language you'll be i make up my own word listen to a coyotes broadcast you'd think he'd be listening to a might skin start talking but i think that's what makes it so good and catherine i when we get on the show together we laugh so hard because you'll be sitting there doing the show and one of us will say as something that is so totally wrong and so so misspoken and you'll see us one of us will pop up and then we're screwed the rest most of the segment because we can't talk 'cause we can't wait to get the commercials to let the fuck i just say what did i say what did i say wrong and it just give me a replay look at your twitter was getting mad at you yeah like you know what i always say like you know in the replace you know you know the come from behind right all the time every assignment say and watch the different the guy come from behind you know the hardback pressure always always brings a smile born yeah how many how many dates a year do you do how many games a year are you doing 'cause the playoffs is what every other night it's pretty it's every night pretty much the first half of the seasons kind of light for me than the second half of the season might my schedule really am yeah i i think i have about one hundred and ten appearances on my contract so but like i haven't been on in three weeks two weeks so this has been my nice thanksgiving i giving it's good i've got some other personal stuff i have gone but starting to win a classic it's going to start really open up and going to be on NBC a lot and we all star game we got we have the other outdoor door game in colorado springs we're going to be too which is gonna scare the shit out of me 'cause they air force one want me to run through some of their doing something you should be in jet you're like top gun the new talk trailer i'm telling you right now if i if i survive if i'm if i'm calling you on the sixteenth i'm going to be the happiest happy you kind of look like val kilmer you could play a stunt double in the new the new one coming up here dude i'm going to look like val kilmer puke all over myself trust me so they want me to do i vowed i would never do some of the things that they're asking me to do and i'm doing we don't say no to a lot of ships enjoy JR's by the way i said no to to this in like regular regular life but now that i have to do it for television you guys know when his television i'll i'll do anything that's why i love about us you fucking dive in where was it where i saw your like face painted before a game on the vegas cup ronnie was like with the dudes banging the drum that's what i'm saying yeah i dressed as elvis so when i sat on the kick somebody out of there glassy his elvis at the in vegas for the finals come up with these ideas or is this one of your producers being like i bet you could get them to do this you know what the producers usually come up with the ideas and then i expand them because they can only go so far in their iroquois in their thinking of what a NBC will let me do and what i wanna do so i'll take it to another level where it i will say that sometimes the guys at NBC they want us to do things that if you're watching it it's like that doesn't make sense like you can't go from this to this you can't go from that to that there has to be a transition condition to where the stupidity is followed by more stupidity by more stupidity and then you can't start off with the dumbest thing you've got filled into it exactly and that people know when you're you know when i did the when i did the the leprechaun dance you know which was crazy literally not doing the dance because there's this young little thirteen year old feed on that was doing my feet don't move that that well but you see me from top to bottom but they wanted me to do something before that you know it's not me dancing so let's let's let's do this chronologically but let's do it even more let's make me look even more constricted so that people laugh because that's the whole thing we want people able to be entertained want people to laugh 'cause if they don't what's the sense of doing anything so for me and what you guys do here you guys make people laugh every single we're not not polished and and talked about messing up names and not being as policy but i think people kinda kinda like that because we're we're fuck ups i hope we're we're we're we're clouds we'd like to entertain and i mean you might be any other way man that's why that's why when i see a guy like patrick sharp step in and mike this guy he's a robot how does he knows every name you'd never saw the camera like he wants to fuck everybody everybody wants to come back.

this holiday season or of for that matter love some other news big news the LA kings of the chola check on unconditional waivers for the purpose of contract termination the two sides were having a standoff handoff was kind of weird he was still travel with the team but not playing i he's now UFA and free to sign with anyone that kings are still going to have a six and a quarter million dollar hit this year and next year a total disastrous sign for the king's next year they're going to be paying about ten million three guys not even an elite anymore what right now coach not technically phenomenon in richards yeah but he's the man when he looked he didn't look l. a. but do you think you look at some or i'll take too many mushrooms last night or did i see that there's potential that he's going to boston i think people throw that out there whatever there's a guy who's older that was a score at some point bruins navarre second line actually business boy re reported that ebay ronco russian correspondent go on there is why the fuck you laugher egos i just can't see it unless we JR will go into this as well well because it it goes into me saying JR i think you have a lot of credibility when you do call people out because of the career you had and he says i talked about kovalchuk i said when they signed him he i won't phone and finish out the contract or you know something about myself ryan whitney talk right now i show respect from my elders especially hockey elders who were way way way way better are than me so i didn't say anything to his face JR i said the same thing buddy i probably said it before you did this was a done deal from the gecko kovalchuk had been over in russia what what was it four years whatever three to four years you didn't you do not get better as you age three to four years in hockey one you certainly don't be become i'm better and good enough to play in the NHL aging in those years in the k. h. l. and probably like didn't have the exact same desire in the weight room is when he was young they paid them way too much money and was from the beginning a show of like there's no chance this works out i think he might have scored a little early but last year but i can't picture him going to another other team and lighting it up because he doesn't move very well like maybe he was a third line guy and he was willing to commit to play defense and stuff i don't know i i don't know him personally but it's kinda tough when you look at his age and you look at what he's done these past two years to think that a contending team would have a spot for him up front i mean is it worth the firefighters say the bro for because we mention them i mean spend the rookie mental recommend veteran minimum on a guy sucks you just let them go and low risk on i'm i'm not saying at all that a team shouldn't do that because of low risk and because of maybe he actually does pan out i'm just saying personally i don't think when he gets the chance if he does it we'll work out i get you i have nothing to say you've pretty much covered all bases with thank you i appreciate that all right a few other news items phillies joel farabi got a three game suspension i absolutely bundling winnipeg's matthew perot at a late interference i don't know if you caught it was perot was watching this past a little bit but it was a late hit bundled them three games yeah i mean that's pretty appropriate for for what he did i thought it was a dirty hit i think it was deserving deserving of a suspension because it was blatant i'll say this stupid play by perot drops the puck and he's just staring back i mean you gotta know who's out on the ice you've got to know your surroundings you can't be watching drop pass but what current NHL respect for players it was a dirty hit and it was on unnecessary hit if he has the puck and he's looking behind he's dragging it while you're separating the man from the puck the the puck was gone there was no need for it maybe threes one game too many but it was a dirty play and i totally understand why they suspended him god traditionalist they're going to hate that right because there's only a split second but it's just unfortunate he was any unnecessary i it's right and that's where it comes down to player safety is what they're saying is like that's the type hit like you know you're gonna put your fucking your colleague in danger i guess he could you call mccall even though they're combating against each other fraternity brother maybe man and it's just unnecessary and that's that's an old school hit where no one's even if you haven't sent it to the interview like we we tweets talking about the jaw story yeah i remember knowing it was like three seconds right after he won one thousand to one thousand three mississippi now now the second he was laid that was like a fraction of a second too late yes yes that's it and now he's going to set you said setting for three games yep three games god i mean it's just like suspension personally and remember like people are like oh they're still the problems that hits in the league and player safety it's like these kids grew up where that was okay right so hopefully the next generation where everyone's aware that that's it's not you'll see less and less of that it's it's a fastball i'm not saying this conducting this kid's a scumbag but let's hope it you know that that that what do you call it that filter makes guys stop in that situation moving forward so we don't even have to deal with it and we don't have to argue about whether what how many fucking games the guy should get suspended for stuff three games that's a lot of cake for a guy should be enough of a deterrent rack yeah definitely a little bit of surprise out of buffalo they assigned casey middle stats rochester the h. l. he's got nine points in thirty one games four goals five assists they they just wanna work on his game a little bit so you know he'd been with them for so long it is a bit of a surprise when a guy does go donald this but he's still a young kid i don't think you know this means he's got a tough future or anything no and and when you're dealing with these young guys you don't wanna be given them reps in in a situation nation where they're playing like bottom six and you're going to basically turn them into something that you don't want them to right you don't want them to become excuse me and and you know if if if you if you are a score and your skill player and you you know you have a two hundred foot game you want them to go down to the american league and maybe dominated that position if there isn't enough time for reps at the national hockey lever level excuse me next thing you know all of a sudden this kid i mean you don't want a prospect that just like dumping it in and like not making plays and not being confident it all of a sudden you turn them into like just like a a checker where you can go pick a guy like that up in the off season in pam million bucks right i mean go get a boyd gordon repairman if you want a you know a guy of of of that debt to just do the basic so the it's it's nice that right now they have that luxury their teams playing fairly well in in after the initial the initial success early in the season they haven't dropped off like last it's it's very lucky that eichel having the season he's had become in the legit superstar he is that buffalo's able able to do this with a young high pick guy and it makes total sense what sucks for for him is nowadays if you go down to the minors you considered to be like you're not going to be a stud like that ain't true not often do you see a kid not have to go through the minors and learn to be confident and play pro hockey play a certain way and it's all about reps biz set it pass you need young players especially ones who you consider high end offensive players to be confident they need to have the they need to have those touches your saying busy and they need to feel confidence as well when you don't have it at the NHL you're so young go down and get it in the h. o. and i'll tell you right now yes the NHL way better league if you go down as a skill guy and you play really really well i got sent down from camp when i should have made it ended up being my rookie year i went down i had whatever fourteen points like nine games it was so sick of course is the first thing i was like what am i doing in this league well yeah i'm i'm i'm going up when i got called up and it's a way better league but my confidence still was so high that i was away better player had i just stayed up there from the start so i don't think it's a big deal at all and when you look at all these superstars that didn't spend time the h. l. will remind yourself brad marchand spent time there's plenty players that have spent years if not one or two in the minors and it's still become very league-high offensive and skill guys another example of that is like barrett hate going back to the world juniors is the sky is been at the NHL level has been learning how to become a pro but at a certain point you're like we need this guy to get his offense of confidence back that way he can come back to the coyotes because they're better this year he he can't play in that top six role because there's other guys who were able to do that there and play at that NHL level on a more consistent basis more so than what this young kids doing that's not taking anything anything away from this kids ability you don't wanna expose them and put them in the fire and all of a sudden this conference gets shred so there's got to be a process to now they sent him back to world juniors he gets to go lighted up feels what all those situations he gets to touch the puck in in situations where he would normally be doing it now moving forward in the NHL level and you and you gotta get those juices flowing again 'cause sometimes guys all of a sudden get put in that role forever you just you transformed a a skill prospect because now all of a sudden for half a season or a year he start making those plays in the now he's not comfortable making them there's a little insecurity to his game game the skill department the last middle stat thing i'll say is when assistant coach don granato he was in the hospital for a while so the head AHL chalco chris taylor came up at filled in the assistant and buff so now it makes a difference coaching with young is he was up in the NHL watching middle stat a play now he's going to be as head coach in the minors and he knows exactly hey listen that that plane might not work when you go back up let's talk about something here and so you have a coach that was with you while you were playing in the NHL makes it a lot easier to think back hey man that's a play you won't be able to get away with that's a play you need to hold onto it long a good job so i think that'll make a difference that he's really familiar with the head coach up in rochester yeah and he's still only twenty one years old he has he's one of those also why do you have to be nasty at twenty one now i mean it's your today's NHL because show younger so much pressure as soon as you draft these guys they need immediate impact all right well have have patients.

"We are not an athletic group. That is for sure. Yeah. We had Jeremy Roenick in here and he picks up the hockey stick. And I don't know how many goals JR had he probably four hundred seventy five goals, but, you know, it just there's certain guys when they pick up the basketball or golf club, or whatever they've done, all their life, and it just different and he's just pepper in that net. And then make love and try to slapshot are your fingers still like ringing. There's angling I injured my shoulder and my fingers, it was like sad. I did miss the puck altogether day and you're getting were we're going on workman's con-. This new band cave is awesome as we're all getting injured slow, and you guys are all signing. You know, some kind of release form because I can't have you guys get hurt here. Like almost lost Seton this morning, and that's after you almost took me out with a golf club. This place has not been good for me. And I can't watch that video of me losing the golf club behind me, because I nearly took out Seaton's head. I nearly hit you for weeks days. Yeah. Days. Yeah. Okay. Should we have an alternate on each of our respective teams afford? Dan, that's where each squad captains. There's a pretty solid odd that all the unshaved unin shaped guys here, one of them's going to tweak, an ankle or something. Can we have an alternate and we allowed to pick any alternate on earth like that means we have to go recruit rayon lives? An hour from here. You know I mean Amari Stoudamire is an hour and ten minutes for here. Okay. Just saying that if we can, if you can secure then then, yes, you can have them on your own salary can those salary cap not not yet? Yes. Fritzy. Now that's good to know. If you could tap into our context, you bring up Nikko net or something you who are you thinking. I, I was actually going to head towards these Celtics. They have a lot to prove after the way the series with the bucks. We'll maybe get kyri. That would be a very nice show if yes, how do we determine when this alternate goes it, we can have, like, Rodney Dangerfield and Caddyshack? Oh, my arm like for these, I'm the judge. I'm the Commissioner here. Yes. See, it would be awesome. If Kyrie would come all the way in here to plan Todd's three on three team. But not to do an interview. I'd be fine with that. I don't really feel like talking to Dan. I just wanna play hoops with fritzy, I'm good with that. That'd be even better. I don't know what is going to say, you know, here's the new report, I don't know if it's a report, but it just feels like, hey, we need something to talk about how 'bout AD Anthony Davis, LeBron and Kyrie playing for the Lakers. Okay. I guess it's possible you still have to get Anthony Davis. And then you gotta get Kyrie Irving. What are you giving up to get these guys? That's what I'm curious about. I know you added the fourth pick overall, but it's going to take a little bit to get Anthony Davis out of New Orleans. What are you going to, you know, kyri?.

"I think one time he put like forty five down on a golf tournament. He's one of the greatest guys in the world as she I'm sorry, I'm telling you the story, but. Yes. So her Craig Craig Ludwig would bring a cooler to the softball games in the summertime and everybody's like leads you brought all the beer and goes don't touch it. The whole cooler. I'm like, oh boy. Did you guys drink before games? I only drank before game one time. And it was in ninety four before we were gonna lock out in ninety four like the players are gonna stop playing before the playoffs that was going to be our way of having the, you know, the upper hand. Right. So we're playing in Detroit, and we're waiting for twelve o'clock to roll around because at twelve o'clock it was last game the season they were gonna shut the season down, so bunch of us go across the border into Windsor were at the bar. We're boozing waiting for twelve o'clock. We went there at ten o'clock. We went there. We spend the whole day, twelve o'clock didn't come around. No call three o'clock game. No call finally one of the teammates gets a call from the National Hockey League now we're twenty five thirty deep four hours deep next thing, you know, NHL, call and say, oh, we're going to strike tomorrow. You gotta play tonight straight. We run straight. We went straight in. The into Joe Louis arena, we walk in Mike Keenan sees us. And we just like we're just drip to the to the bone, right. And he's just shakes his head. How'd you do we tied three three? I had a golden assist so. Play on guilt. Sometimes is the best way then website to learn more about this as legends on the links dot com. Jeremy Roenick JR. Great to see again, buddy. I I heard I heard one of the Jeremy Roenick stories that I've always heard was that. There was a time. Like, you know, you have a Sunday matinee game and there'd be a TV timeout third period, and the NFL scores be going around the Bill that you all of a sudden jibe. Redskins are down. That happened nightly. Every commercial. A lot of a lot of our eyes. The scoreboard upstairs. JR you're you're smiling. Laughing your minus for your fuck, you smile about us through pizza last shift. And you're like, yeah, buddy. But I'm a fucking hundred Gs babe, but we out there is it. They listen to dump things that we do kids, right? Like, I said before you know, I I had I had a big big ego. And I didn't think I could touch nothing. Nothing can go wrong in my life. And obviously, I was not very smart. But you know, you live and you learn and that was definitely some learning experiences. Me JR. What was it like playing with Celli to get Celli stories for us that he'd be okay with you? Tell them. Talent you want to talk about a guy who lives and grease hockey. I've never seen a more passionate guy about the game. I've ever seen a guy that loved the game more. I'd never seen guide wanted to be around. It more always the first little room and in sweating. He would he would work out like like a maniac. He would he he had our trailers bring a television this into into the bathroom and in our bathroom. We had our Sada on he would ride the bicycle in the Soling input the television outside and right? If about forty five fifty minutes, you'd ride bicycles in the sauna, and you know, never seen a guy, drink more beer and eat more chicken in my life and be an have NB shredded from you know, from head to toe and still today is probably in better shape than most players, but we call him captain America, man, he is he is the ultimate leader. And the guy that will stick up. He's the one guy really that that didn't care who you were. He was going to he was going to make sure everybody's on the same page. He talked to me and would would rip me down. If he saw me, you know, saying something I shouldn't act in a way. I shouldn't he wasn't afraid to confront me. When a lot of people were at the time, teachers, that's a real friend. And he's the best. I I've actually always heard that not only the bike in the sauna. But the boys would be out and be a late night. And no matter what is like six thirty seventies at the rink doing that. Like it never. Yeah. That's incredible hundred percent to two captains at. I just I thought were the epitome of of of Trump leadership and that was Keith kachuck. And and and Celli keep you would always be always be on the bike in the morning every and you know, when the young guys would come into the locker room p p ride the bike. He would he would give them shits, and, you know, her calm the gap. And scored fifty goals ride the bike, and you're just getting to the rink now. You know, he'd give you he'd play guilt games with these guys. I mean, he would make sure that these kids were accountable took care of the trainers better than anyone on the road or at home. And you know, she's you talk about being tough in play the game the way it's supposed to be played while this was just is a monster. So look, I I'm looking through hockey debates insane to see some of these numbers. I don't know the back story on after eight years in Chicago. I mean, you came on the scene, you know, three hundred point seasons in a row became a superstar in Chicago. What was the exit there when you went to a Phoenix?.

"And you know, when I'm doing the intro at somebody that I think so highly of a local guy a Boston guy not only that played at the same high school. I did or I should say I played where she did for Jack Foley at Sarah kademi, former superstar in the National Hockey League current talking headed NBC and one of the most well known names in the game of hockey, Jeremy Roenick, thanks for joining buddy. That was awesome with pay. Intra county right now, I could tell you guys are getting really really good at your jobs. Not not to mention all the millions of all. Even having legal to the radio listening, you guys and that. Voluntary off for ya. Count you calling. I love it JR. You set the way for us, man. You're one of the fucking founding fathers man, you mean as far as personality and hockey in the same sentence, your it. I mean, maybe Don Sherry. Well, I I didn't know whatever back then I was a little little arrogant prick, you know, playing the game. And you know, I could never be touched. And you know, all that crazy stuff that you think about you know. You know, I never knew that was harboring away for a path or after hockey, you know, TV and how big it's going to get. But, you know, be honest and to be forthright and not pulling punches people want to hear the truth. Right. They don't wanna hear all the same real mumbo jumbo that, you know, the cliches year all the time. I mean, they weren't the real thing the neck a tune in just a hear cliches year or card gave it one hundred percent a team game. You know, they want real raw motion. And that's that's what I gave them. And that's what you guys on weekly basis. It's great JR. So you kind of mentioned, you didn't know this was going to transfer to after hockey stuff at what point were you like, you know, what they I think I wanna do this past my career. I really didn't think about it. I had a when I got ready to retire this summer of two thousand nine I was literally sitting across the table from Doug Wilson who is GM sales at time. And I was thinking about playing one more year I can pull off what year my bodies is beat up..

"If he was getting his reps. If he was getting his PP time if he was getting his proper ice. I'll say this. I believe per Leaney was given the fair shake and the sample size because of the the guys in front of Strom at center ice. It was difficult. I would have liked to have seen him. Get like a solid ten to fifteen games at second mind center with a little bit more skill on his wings to see if you could have scaled up in that time. But hey, man, there's pressure to win. Now, they got a few guys head of them that are proven and are one in two centers at the National Hockey League level. I mean step on side over fifty points last five seasons before this one. So I mean, he's proven they know he's going to get the job. That's I mean the histories there. But but at the end of the day, I think this hopefully is going to benefit both organizations. I like the guy we got back for the Zona coyotes, and hey, I wouldn't count count out Strom, I wouldn't count them out. It's not earth shattering trade for either franchise a little more than a mainstream tool, obviously, given Stroman location. This is the first trait farm, you hope he doesn't get trade again. Like, I mentioned before biz. He's he is in that, you know, that top draft class. She's gonna get constantly get compared to these guys. It seems like he's able to forget about it. When we talked a couple of weeks ago are adds a great point. Is it more psychological getting draft drafted in the top five picks and not making it at a camp. How much impact is that have on these guys moving forward, and we talked to Strom or about it. It's got a fucking who can answer that question. Oh, oh, yeah. The hey, hey, Ryan feel about fifth of pretty upset us pretty route. But I went and ripped it up in the minors. Thanks for coming in. And then I got called up never looked back to a put on waivers ended up in San Antonio playing golf instead of taking naps before games. Not bad. Speaking of golf, we got a guy coming on who loves golf. Yes. We do we're going to bring in Jeremy Roenick one of the American born players of all time JR made his name as a Chicago Blackhawks I stops in Phoenix stops in Philly stopped in LA just ripped up the NHL for a long time. I think soon enough you'll see Jared in the Hockey Hall of fame, but we have him joining us, and he's not only ripped it up as a player. He also has turned into a top broadcaster with NBC sports. So why don't we go to JR right now? This interview is brought to you by eagle energy. You guys all know what it is. It's the caffeine inhaler plugging forever. Who's in my mockumentary this past summer? Not a big deal nicotine free. No sugar or calories eagle energy there the caffeine inhaler sticks. Of course, we've mentioned the glow Rana, the ginseng, and Tori and all the natural products that hasn't it way better than coffee. You don't get that that rotten gut after you're not gonna shit your brains out like fucking Grenell? Does on his dates when he? When he brings girls to fuck an applebees. But special promotion that Twenty-one savage collaboration is kicking off Friday. They're a little bit backed up on their regular sticks right now. So what I want you guys do on Friday, go to the website. They're going to do their Twenty-one savage launch with the collaboration with of course, eagle energy caffeine inhalers, and it's going to be a biz Twenty-one promo code biz twenty. It's always biz twenty two special promotion is twenty one basically, I'm collaborating with Twenty-one savage. Maybe we'll fuck and make a tune headed up on tunes automobile. But yeah, you guys killed it on their sale on the black Friday and cyber Monday. That's why they're a little bit backed up. Not as backed up as that months and on Twitter chirp Amita, you didn't order it two weeks ago or at Friday eagle energy caffeine inhalers. Unbelievable. I do them all the time. Great coffee supplementation. Instead of the coffee a nicotine free eagle energy. Go. Get him biz Twenty-one on Friday, not Thursday Friday, drops Twenty-one savage fucking rights. He has a lengthy resume including launching the monumental, sports and entertainments monumental network which offers livestream Of, his NBA NHL teams as well as. Additional live events and games Leonsis has a hands on approach to. Management of his sports teams and most recently is Washington Capitals, won the, Stanley Cup and Michael we can go on and on and. I think you kind of did about. That impressive background and I didn't get your card by Michael but, Ted thank you so much for joining us. For, episode number one hundred. And congratulations you have longevity and that's like a leak once you get into the one. Hundred you can celebrate that and now. We're going to say many more to come many more to come but speaking of things. That last and linger how, about that Stanley Cup you for you how long, does that last Well to. Be very straightforward I did not, experience euphoria when we won the Cup I experienced relief and it. Wasn't until we had everyone come out for the parade and you see just families and young kids and, everyone paying, oh my gosh really to the team the franchise and their love. Of the. Community that I said oh boy this is. This is an auto body experiences real, joy and my empathy. In appreciation for teams that repeat is enormous now because you don't make the, playoffs your season in early April and we. Had struggled to get out of the second? Round our season usually ended The middle of, may and now it, ended middle of June then you celebrate and you you have, to, do, all of the things that come with winning, a Stanley, Cup and then you go to this award show and then you leave the ward show you go to the draft and then there's free agency and then we had worke camp and you. Go all my gosh Making it sound like it's not fun Well it's the cast but but now recharging get ready to defend is an, enormous amount of mental and. Trent frankly physical healing, to, get there so, what Pittsburgh did what what Chicago did what the. Islanders did to be able to cluster. A lot of, wins is really admirable and I mean my, respect for those teams goes up really really dramatically because it's it's going to be doubly hard to defend just because you don't have any time to recharge and replan very happy with our with our front office and with our general manager because he's essentially brought the same. Keen back minus a couple of players he's an, inspiration to my son by the way if I can cut him one second because John Carlson who resigned to a long Term deal was a former New, Jersey rocket. Which is where program my son plays with so everybody knows John Carlson Jeremy Roenick were rockets yeah well captain America John's a great player and a great leader, great man, and we've been, blessed is we've built a really terrific franchise great fan base and the terrific players wanted to, stay here they wanted to. Continue to play here and, they're very sincere, in their understanding now that they know what it. Takes to win in how to win. And they also, know how good it felt to bring this, community so close together and have all be a part of this history history our first Stanley Cup they wanna do it again and so the anticipation in the energy that will be expended going into next season will be very very high I know something you might have. Gotten tired of doing and I thought about this, besides I sent you an Email right away when the final buzzer went off congratulate Nations but I really went through my mind was Ted doesn't have to write the letter this, year because you wrote a letter to your. Fan base when the team, was eliminated and in. Essence. It, said thank. You and we're doing our best to get. Better for. Disappointed but I gotta say is that I'm really amazed more owners in sports do not do this because it probably is. One of the reasons you do have such a loyal fan base is that you take the time and the effort to actually be transparent and talk. To them well you can hide in in professional sports and I. Think you know I go to all the games I but season ticket. Holder I was season, ticket holder before I I. Bought the teams and I've always said we're in it together and if something doesn't work especially when, you have. High expectations I would expect as a customer to hear from the person who owned the restaurant the the person who owned the. Team to explain to me how, you Feeling and what are you going to do differently and Share in this teen angst and I certainly, was able to share in all the. Excitement and joy, and it was, a really collective experience and you know when you saw I've been looking at, some, pictures putting putting these photo bucks and you know I I would go to the away games in when you see the, pictures now of fifty sixty thousand people outside our building watching the games on the big screens outside, and twenty thousand people inside you just go my gosh we struck a chord. With a whole generation, in, such great news for us and for the league frankly is that you look at these pictures and you see young people who don't get cable rate who maybe can't afford coming into the? Bill Hoping because of stubhub you know the resale prices on tickets and to, capture if he will be interest of. Those seventy thousand, people and seeing, the wearing red shirts and some of them in jerseys and and watching young, kids cry that you know this was so important to them of next week continue our conversation with Washington Wizards and capitals owner, Ted Leonsis about how video.
