"To dive into. And your opportunity to be part of the program, best and worst of the weekend, dial us up, operator, Tyler standing by, our good buddy Ross Tucker a little bit later on, Paul fine bomb, the voice of SEC football will stop by as well. Congrats the Astros who won the World Series. No bigger Astros fan than Todd Fritz. Yeah. Two to 5 years, let's go. Yep. You're incredible. Some guy named paying you a one like that. The first year playing. Jeremy Pena. Yes, thank you, Todd. All right. We'll get a play of the day, stat of the day, poll question all of that forthcoming. And obviously we'll dive into what's happening with college football over the weekend. The NFL surprise surprise ravens at the saints coming up tonight. But it was Tom Brady being Tom Brady again. Buccaneers took down the rams and a fourth quarter drive led by Brady and going into the season. I think we looked at this and said, it could be maybe an NFC title game preview. Teams have failed to live up to expectations and now you start to look at the so called Super Bowl contenders, I look at the Buccaneers, they're in a bad division. It feels like what's going on in the NFC west. The niners are for real, but that's a game that is going to come back and haunt the rams. If they don't make the playoffs, they might look at this game and go that cost us. Well, there's reasons why that costs them. They are 29th in scoring offense this year. Offensive line is a mess. They no longer have von Miller to put pressure on the quarterback. They were top 5 in sacks last year. Now they're the bottom half of the league this year. The NFC west is still open for the taking, but we know Seattle is a quality team.

"Wood fork. All right, let's start with the wizards. They were down big to the grizzlies at halftime despite leading this game by 9 early on. Now they are trailing by a score of 81 to 74 as the third quarter just wrapped up down in Memphis. The Wiz finding finding some success from three point range finally, they're now 8 of 32, and yes folks that 25% shooting is actually an improvement from what it was before. And it looks like kristaps porzingis coming off the mat here, so to speak, he had some foul trouble in the first half, limiting his ability to score and to stay on the floor for that matter Ten points. Now, for the wizards, Kyle Kuzma, and Monte Morris tied for the team lead with 12 points. The Washington commanders riding the Taylor heinicke roller coaster this time to a 20 to 17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, his highlight reel touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel put the burgundy and gold up by ten. He gave me a shot. I ain't gonna lie. He wasn't supposed to throw that, but we made it work. Yeah, it worked, but then heinecke would throw an interception that led to the game tying touchdown. No one's gonna be harder on me than myself, and it goes back to that interception for me. If we don't give him a short field there, our defense is playing lights out, kind of make them drive the field and they still have to score ten points at that moment. So that was a tough one to swallow for sure. Yeah, now they have to travel to face the undefeated eagles in prime time next Monday night. The stat of the day, dusty baker's first World Series title, as a manager, he made his managerial debut in April of 1993 as leadoff hitter that day, Geronimo Pena. His son, Jeremy Pena, the MVP of the World Series, as he was crowned last night. Rob woodfork, WTO sports. Okay, rob, where at 7

"Native peoples. But like give people hope, she says she's very nervous about election day on Sunday. Polls suggest the contest will be very close. Carrie conn NPR knew São Paulo, Brazil. As baseball fans know the World Series starts today. The Houston Astros take on the Philadelphia Phillies, as the series starts in Houston, both teams are obviously on a roll, but there's a definite favorite. NPR sports correspondent Tom Goldman is covering the series. Hey there, Tom. Hi Steve. So the last time I checked in with baseball, it was clear to me that the Yankees and Dodgers were headed for a big matchup in the World Series. That's not happening? Yeah, Steve, you're only a few weeks behind, but that's okay. Stick with it. It's Houston and Philadelphia and Houston based on recent history, the Astros are in their fourth World Series since 2017 when they won the title and based on right now they are undefeated. This postseason and winning games every which way. They are a red hot team so they should win. The Phillies, though, they're also playing well, started the postseason as a wild card team. They're in their first World Series since 2009. So as I said, on paper, Houston Steve is your winner, but Steve, here's some real sports wisdom for you. They don't play the games on paper. Well, how could the Phillies tear up the paper and win this series? Well, their players who have been playing well keep it up, including free players whose contracts total more than a half a $1 billion altogether. They have been earning their crazy money, sluggers like Bryce Harper and Kyle schwarber have been slugging, schwarber is built like a D cell battery. He launches home runs called shore bombs, and they measure them Steve in terms of how far into outer space they travel. And the third player pitcher Zach Wheeler has been close to unhittable in the playoffs. So I should admit I actually was following the playoffs. I did hope for the Yankees to do a little better than they did. And of course they weren't even close. They lost all the games. What makes the Astros so good? They are complete. They have a great system that during this run since 2017 keeps replenishing and putting stellar players on the field. For instance, a breakout star this postseason rookie Jeremy Pena has been great, defensively. He's hit three home runs. One of them against those Yankees where he rounded third base during his home run trot, spread his arms and shrugged at his teammates as in, what can I say? Steve is not bad for a rookie. I guess we should acknowledge some people hate the Astros, particularly because of that scandal a few years ago, sign stealing by Houston, but a lot of people love their manager. Dusty baker, who is talking not only about the games, but the composition of the teams. What does he say? Yeah, he commented about this yesterday. There are no U.S. born black players on either active roster for this World Series. That's the first time that's happened since 1950, only three years after Jackie Robinson integrated

"Mean, I think the difference was the fact that this offense was built around Aaron judge, Aaron judge would be main contributor the entire year and without a guy like Dijon Mayo during the series all the time. And intending. Right. Exactly. And the fact that George Wayne Cole, I mean, I think that was it. And by the way, you were going to have to play perfect baseball to be this asteroid seam. I mean, this team is so good. You and I were texting about this yesterday. They've been so dominant for so long. So I really don't think that's it. I know people love to spa light on. Bullpen decisions taking call out in the previous game, all of those moments, but ultimately they did not hit against a very, very good pitching stuff. Yeah, to take that number forward, I text you because I was thinking about the Astros relative dominance since they first made this group first made the postseason 2015. How many American League teams since 2015 have a winning record against the Houston Astros? None. None. The best record was the Tampa Bay Rays at 500. And I also took it a step further. And if we went, then 2017. So when they won the World Series, the best record or I should say the worst record that the Astros had against any opponent in the American League in that span was 5 33 against those rays, so I mean, they've been so good and I know when a team gets eliminated so much spotlight comes on the Mandarin. I understand that. But I really think you were going to have to be absolutely perfect, even to win a game or two in this series. All right, let's play the numbers game. Number three number three is 6. So to speak in that series and how dominant and inevitable, the Astros have been. We talked about Jeremy Pena last week, the fact that he was the on a very short list of guys have three extra base hits in the game as a rookie in the postseason and of course Carlos brah was the last guy to do it. "Trial. I'm Brad Stevens. Now this Bloomberg sports update, I'm Dan cattell ski. Well, the Yankees had the guardians right where they wanted them. Yankees took a 5, three lead into the 9th inning on Saturday night, but the guardians had other ideas and the Yankee bullpen just could not finish the deal as the guardians rally with a three run 9th inning Oscar Gonzalez with the backbreaking hit, a two run single with the bases loaded and two outs. That drives in the game tying and game winning runs. Final score 6 5 and it puts the Yankees in a bad spot. It means they have to win game four Saturday. Just to get the series back to New York for a game 5, at least Garrett Cole will be on the hill. The Yankees ace will try to extend the season by winning on Sunday. Other baseball games, a wild one in Seattle. How about an 18 inning game? It was scoreless for the first 17 innings until the Astros finally got some offense with a Jeremy Pena solo home run. That was it for scoring one nothing and the victory sends the Astros back to the American League championship series. They've been there the last 6 years as the Mariners get swept. Philadelphia, maybe the surprise of the postseason. They spring an 8 three win on the braves today and they win game four and it punches their ticket to the national league championship series. All right, let's move on to hockey, the islanders with a very solid win. They beat Anaheim 7 one and they'll skate Tuesday at home against San Jose, football Sunday, the ravens and the Giants hook up at 1 o'clock in New York, the jets continuing their successful start there are three and two. They play the packers in Green Bay. That's your Bloomberg sports update. I'm Dan guitar ski. This is balance and power with David Weston. I strongly believe that Republicans will be able to defeat Nancy Pelosi and take back the speaker's gavel. You can win elections running against things, but it doesn't mean you get to leave. Coming up this hour, my extensive conversation with Bridgewater founder ray dalio from the Greenwich economic forum. I get his thoughts on the fed's inflation battle on how much pain is in store for the economy. Interest rates have got to go up to a level that constricts private credit demand. "I'm Brad Steve. Now this Bloomberg sports update, while the Yankees have the guardians on the ropes in game three of their American League division series in Cleveland on Saturday night, but the guardians had other ideas. They came up with three runs in the bottom of the 9th, the winning hit was a Oscar Gonzalez two run single with the bases loaded final score 6 5 and now the guardians have a chance to close the series on Sunday Night. So the Yankees are perhaps in the worst spot they've ever been this season. Some other exciting baseball on Saturday played out in Seattle. That's where the Astros and the Mariners played 17 innings of scoreless baseball, but in the 18th inning the Astros finally broke through with a Jeremy Pena solo home run and that was enough for Houston. They win the game one nothing they win the series in a sweep and they are in the America league championship series now for the 6th straight year. Philadelphia punches their ticket to the NLCS. They beat the braves now with an 8 three win in game four and so they win that series three games to one. Hockey for the islanders on Saturday night it was a one sided 7 to one win over Anaheim. So a convincing win for New York, the amateurs will host San Jose on Tuesday night, football tomorrow. It's the jets on the road against the packers in Green Bay, Green Bay is 7 point favorite, but they faltered against the Giants last week, so we'll see what the packers have, the Giants, while they're home against Baltimore. That's a 1 o'clock kick. The Giants of course with that very impressive record of four and one, ravens come in with the record of three and two. That's your Bloomberg sports update. You just watch that team, you see or don't come to the plate, and they keep moment and you realize there's a reason that this team has been so good for so long. Yep. But just because he has the innings lead in the lower array. It seems like he's been the presumptive FrontRunner for a while, but again, like there's time to talk about those things, but what we have maybe overlooked a little is The Rookie of the year race in both leagues and I know you have a vote in the NFL. I'm kind of strong handcuffed. Yeah. I've been shoved into a locker. Are you not allowed to discuss it at all? No. It's not allowed to discuss who you're voting for, which you may not even know at this point. I don't know who I'm voting for. Okay. I don't think you're allowed to talk about who you're voting for in advance. I think that we can talk about their relative merits, but I'm going to tread very carefully because I don't want to get a meaning email. I want to be stripped of my voting rights. I don't want to be boosted out of the BBW AA. I got trouble to cause. I don't want to get you in trouble. I have proposals, but I have some proposals. Sorry, you know, I gotta make those. Okay, yeah, keep your powder dry for that. But the point is that both of those races regardless of who ultimately wins really close, like just as close as the other awards races we were talking about. At least going by fangraphs were, it's neck and neck in both leagues. And they're both fun races and again, like we can just say, they're all great. Yeah. Matt Kemp's old tweet that Sam loves so much about the Hall of Fame where he just said, put them all in. They should all be put them on. In the AL, you have Julio and you have adley Richmond. Yeah. Who are almost indistinguishable, according to fan graphs were. And then in the NL, you have a couple of Atlanta rookies. You got a couple of guys hanging out in Atlanta. Hitter and pitcher take your picks. And Michael Harris the second. And again, very little daylight between them and fangraphs were. Maybe a tad more in baseball reference were. So Rodriguez and Richmond Harris and strider, strider who is memorably listed on the a's broadcast this week as a way pitcher dot short name in brackets. Those are just fun players on fun teams and also players who I think for the most part are very promising, so they're not in the genre of rookie who's having a good season, but you don't know whether they're actually a good player and it's like, well, we could still vote for them for rookie of the year, but it might look a little weird decades down the road when their careers didn't pan out. People don't have a lot of concerns about Julio and Richmond long term. And obviously the braves don't have concerns about Michael Harris the second because they just locked him up for a long time and Spencer strider really good as well. So hopefully we will be watching and enjoying these plays for a long time. But just fun races on fun teams and players who have helped revitalize those teams. Like strider and Harris have been so big for the braves this year, ruchman really turned around the Orioles season. I don't want to say single handedly, but Baltimore before and after. He definitely played a big role. Yeah. And then you have another guy who hits team just made a big long-term bet on. So love them all. I have to vote. I don't have a vote. So I don't have to make any difficult decisions, but it's just kind of fun to contemplate. So like pretty much all of the major awards this year. I don't know that there's like an obvious shoe in most of them and there's some really intriguing debates and discussions. If you're someone who likes to have those. So here's a here's a little question for you, Ben. I want to make sure that my understanding of the rules around this stuff are accurate. So I am given to us I'm given to understand that per the new collective bargaining agreement. If Richmond places in the top two he will receive a year of service time, right? He'll be credited for a full year of service time. Despite not being up in time for that. But because he was not up on opening day, the Orioles are not eligible to receive a draft pick to reward them for his immediate promotion. Is that understanding correct? Okay, so quoting from a piece from our pal Evan relic, teams who promote players in time to receive a full year of service, which is a 172 days so opening day or very shortly thereafter have a chance at additional picks in the amateur draft so the Orioles didn't do that and perhaps couldn't do that because Richmond was hurt at the start of the season, right? Right, but then he was down in triple-A for a while after he returned from injury. Some of which I imagine was him rehabbing in some of which was probably not. However, a player who has rookie eligibility opens the season with 60 days or fewer in service time and who is included on two of the top prospect lists gets credited with a full year of service, even if they were promoted too late on the calendar to otherwise have received it if they finish in the top two in rookie of the year voting in their week. So yes, I think that's right and Richmond seems like a cinch to be top two. Right, and he would have been, I mean, he was obviously even if he wasn't the number one prospect for every publication was a top prospect in the publications that they're looking to, which I think is BA, ESPN, and maybe something else. Yeah. Yeah. Dot com, probably. I would imagine. Oh, sure, yeah, yeah. So, you know, interesting that dynamic is sort of interesting in that race. Again, I think you are right to say that this is like a two person race and the service time stuff doesn't matter when it comes to Julio because he has this massive contract. So he's sorted and so that you have that wrinkle around Richmond. And then in the NL race, much to my relief. Because of when strider was promoted, which was quite early, he was probably, I imagine he was on the opening day roster for Atlanta even. Yeah. And then Michael Harris's second extension, like that dynamic doesn't really matter there as much, which made me very nervous and then was alleviated. So thanks, everybody. But yeah, it's just like a lot of, it's a lot of good young players. I really fell off, didn't he? Yes, very much so. Yeah. It's been batting a lot lately. He started so well. He looked so good. Yeah, it looked like this is a case of the league adjusting. I have not looked into the specifics, but yeah. Yeah, it might be time for someone to fantastic dot com to take a peek under the hood at Jeremy Pena. And be like, what happened to you, Jeremy, Pena. And then, of course. It's better than Jeremy Pena, at least right now. I wish right now, you know, long careers and what have you, but at least right now, and we would be remiss or at least that I would be if we did not point out that just like, man, Steve and Kwan, what a cool thing. What a cool thing for Stephen Cohen. What a year. What a year. Anyway, that's me. I appreciate Stephen Quan. I'm surprised he has even three home runs. Don't remember a single one of those, but my website tells me that he has hit the so good for him. Yeah, I will be, I will be really curious to see how people try to sort of define the Julio versus adley thing and sort that out because there is a contingent of voters who do care quite a bit about sort of how long you've done the thing. But you know, you're right to say, we have two points of WRC plus difference between them. I'm surprised that Richmond does as well as he does both baseball reference war because they don't include framing. So yeah, look at that. I mean, he is, he is very good defensively, you know.

"70 on base. Alex Bregman, Jeremy Pena, Kyle Tucker, they're all in between about a two 50 to two 60 Pena and Bregman combined 31 home runs. So these guys have been relatively rock solid but you'll go. He's having only about a two 45 for the seeds that I will say all of these overlays. We're gonna call it 40 or so days. Let's be able to find out what this scene hitting above 300 in that time span and you're done over as foreign armies. He's got 31 home runs. That's rock solid, but it's really been the calling card for the asteroid so has been the bullpen. Ryan Presley, one of the better closers that you're gonna find out there in the big weeks, Seth Martinez, Rafael Montero, Ryan sanneck, all these guys have been very solid this season for the team being able to post up a sub three ER. It looks like Martinez most likely gonna be unavailable for this game, but you are gonna have Brian to bring you out there. It needs to be able to supply yourself three ERA as well, but for the White Sox, they've been able to figure out if you have more things with regards to the bullpen as Jimmy Lambert, a failed starter, he used to be able to come through in the bullpen he Ronaldo Lopez, both given the team a sub two 80 ERA. You've had Liam henriksen Kendall graben really by the constants for the theme and for the White Sox. Like a firepower in terms of homers as earth the same quite a bit. You do have Jose Abreu and irwan Luis Robert all between 12 and 14 home runs. All of hitting between a 300 and a three O one by the way, which I find to be relatively ironic, but the righty lefty splits, they have calmed down just a little bit with this scene. They do need to be allowed more guys to be able to go deep for the same as you have also had struggles with guys like blurry Garcia, yoan moncada, yasmani grandal hitting at two 15 or lower, but team has been one of the best in the big leagues at being able to move the line and the growing up against someone. Are you probably doesn't deserve the 11 on Wednesday as he's been much better at home with a juice 87 home area compared to a four 83 ERA on the road and putting it on the road. They added two 71 option for them. He has given up 11 homers at 59 and two thirds things on the road 9 bombs in those same 59 and two thirds innings at home so he is certainly someone that will give up the deep balls, strikeouts per 9 rate hovers in the neighbor of 7, so I do think that gonna be able to keep the team close in order to take the money line on the white side would need more like a plus one 26, but a minus one 45 or better in terms of getting a run enough, I would be wanting to take that with the White Sox with these struggles to use an answer as I've had in just so many tight games and so many low scoring games in general of being able to win by multiple runs as well. So this is a little bit of a scenario in which I'd be willing to take a run with the White Sox and with this subtle set of them at 8.3.

"Got a guest also recently returned from the LA all star scene. Fan graphs lead prospect analyst Eric long and Hagen, who is here to end grant frisbees one episode rain in sole possession of first place on the all time effectively wild guest appearance leaderboard, and also to talk about prospects and all star stuff. Hello, Eric. Hey, how's it going? It was very tempting yesterday to be. I was working on writing day two and three draft stuff up in the hotel as May was on with you and grants and Jeff and took every ounce of self control I had not to just yell a few things. Get on that episode one time. So the effectively wild wiki curators, I know that's very important to you. It is important for me to be Nadal and for grant to be Djokovic. Yeah. Right. I guess that makes sense. Wrestle carleton Roger Federer. I know grant was taunting you on Twitter earlier, which you probably didn't see. No, probably not. We're not looking at Twitter. Haven't tweeted since Marge buddy. Wait a little bit to check on that, grant. Your thoughts are for not if the tanti does not see them. So we have a lot to talk about. We want to talk about everything that went down in LA from the futures game to the draft to the All-Star Game to the home run Derby. I do have a couple non all star week related or at least not explicitly all star week related questions for you, Eric. And one I've been wanting to ask you for a while because we've seen a ton of top prospects promoted this season. It's been kind of cool to see them all come up. And the range of results is really wide. And in a Jason stark article earlier this season, Mariners AGM Justin hollander, who has been on the show suggested that what Bill James called the transition tax basically how long it takes prospects to adjust to the majors is as high as it's ever been. I wonder whether you think that's true. But I also wonder what you think it counts for the variability in that transition tax among players who have major league ability and are judged to be big league ready. For instance, you have guys who started slow, but subsequently turned it on, like Julio Rodriguez, who we will be talking about later, or Bobby witt, or adley Richmond, and then you have guys like Jeremy Pena or Nolan Gorman who hit the ground running and started hot. Then you have someone like Kel Nick, who has so far flamed out, or, say, Spencer torkelson, who I believe was one spot below Julio on your pre season rankings, albeit with a lower future value, and then got sent down recently after putting up a 68 WRC plus an almost 300 plate appearances, so I guess you would expect some players to start fast and others to start slow just by chance, but beyond that, what factors might make someone acclimate more or less quickly than someone else? Yeah, I think the big leaguers making adjustments, if you have a whole or something, there's something about you to which I can adjust and start to exploit than I believe that's a key variable. And then of course, you know, we've seen this sometimes it is just a smaller sample, but you think about some of the guys who have had huge beginnings to their careers. Think about how hot Reese Hoskins was at the very, very beginning. Think about how good Chris paddock was. And then just over time these things tend to play out where, oh, you only have these two pitches well. Now that I've seen you, I can eliminate them or I think I wrote about it in the Astros prospect list. Here's where Jeremy Pena is. Issues are if there's going to be a regression here, it's going to be for this reason. You know, it's a guy who's running a 5% walk rate when surprised me, Michael Harris is running a three and a half or so percent walk rate. They lowered his hands, changed his swing upon entry to the big leagues. He already had kind of a hole at the very, very top of the zone. That's the type of thing that over time you get not just big league advanced scouts, but people looking at heat maps and data and swinging approach angle intersection data and they start to find ways of going at you that makes a huge difference. And maybe it doesn't make a huge difference for the first four or 5 innings of the game, but the relievers that face you start to change and the way you're approached starts to change and so there's some of that. I think that that's a Nolan Gorman thing. I think that's a one yepez thing where you sort of learn, oh, this guy just kind of swings, doesn't he? Why don't we just dump sliders out of the zone and one yap as he goes, oh, well, I guess I'm going to have a sub 300 on base. And not have any defensive value when sometimes you can see that's the coming, which was like the case with yep, where even though he began so hot, his profile is what it was. He's just more likely to be the guy that he's been his whole career. Then he is the guy he was for the first month of his big league career. And so I think some of it is that, but I also think that there's just something about the difficulty of majorly baseball that some of them can't do. Like I can't consistently win on all Madden. I can't do it. I've never been able to do it. I can score a hundred points on all pro. But I can not consistently win on all Madden. It's just too much for me and my 33 year old brain to do anymore.

" AP sports, I'm Bruce Morton. The Astros continue to soar. Adam Spillane has details from Houston. The Houston Astros have won 6 in a row after Jeremy Pena's 9th inning walk off two run Homer sent them to a four two win over the Los Angeles angels. It was paying his fourth hit of the game and second home run. Oh, that's my first multi home run game. And send that on a walk off, it's unreal. In that game, Astros pitchers tied a 9 inning major league record by striking out 20 angels. The guardians humbled the Yankees to nothing. Tristan Mackenzie dazzled allowing just one hit over 7 innings enough to impress Cleveland DH franmil Reyes. I love the way bitch is attitude. He's very focused in every woman and today was a great performance. Tyler wells was superb over 6 innings as Baltimore won at Minnesota three one. It took me a little while to kind of get back into that groove and that mentality, but over the course of the last two months like I've really kind of started to get back into it and I'm feeling pretty good about it. Other American League winners were the royals raise Red Sox White Sox and Mariners. In the national league, the Padres scored all their runs in the 9th to defeat the Dodgers four two. Elsewhere, Brandon Woodruff went 6 stellar innings boosted by an effective changeup as the brewers blank Pittsburgh to nothing. "That was it. But he did not allow a batted ball with a hit probability or expected batting average higher than two 50, and if you combined all of the expected batting averages of the batted policy allowed, it only adds up to four 80. So he was like sub 500, all his bad balls combined through 7 innings. So he had a real chance, I think, of being the first or at least no one had done this when Sam was reading that article of having a legitimate statcast no hitter there, which would have been a lot harder to do than in actual no hitter. So that would have been pretty cool. I'm sorry that the rains came and spoiled that attempt. So can I be like a bummer? Yeah. So we need a way to adjust the expected batting average stuff though for direction, right? Because this is always, this is always the failure of individual batted ball event, X batting average. What a mouthful that was. No wonder no one wants to talk about stats on a broadcast. You sure have to say a lot of words because the ex batting average doesn't account for directionality. And so horizontal spray direction. Yeah, it takes into account the lift. The launch angle in the vertical direction, but not in the horizontal direction. So but now I want someone to find the closest with that sort of taken into account because you can look at stuff and be like, oh my God, like it's so low. And it's like a number. It's not that it's meaningless. It's just that if you want to confer a specialist status, you got to do a little work I would imagine. Yeah, right. So he had thrown 87 pitches. He could have kept going, would have been fun. But just generally like putting that aside, the resurgence of hunter green, it is interesting. It is counterintuitive perhaps that seemingly the way to unlock hunter green's abilities was to have him throw fewer fastballs. The hunter green who is famous for just throwing a 104 whatever his fastball has been pretty hittable, not a lot of deception seemingly. And so he has tiled back the fastball, not necessarily in terms of speed, but in terms of usage. And has been thrown secondary stuff more. So even for hunter green, who has maybe the fastest fastball, certainly one of the fastest, even he can benefit from throwing more breaking balls, which is something you've seen leaguewide. It's like he's a microcosm of the majors, basically, because the average fastball velocity keeps going up and up, but the fastball usage rate keeps going down and down because breaking balls are really effective. So even hunter green had to mix things up a bit. And particularly, you know, he is, I think, a great reminder that in addition to there being breaking balls, which are just effective on their own. It is useful to have a complicated understanding of fastball utility, right? It's easy to see villa like we see out of hunter green and be like, oh my God, it has to be amazing. But maybe it's about shape or approach angle or you know, there's all kinds of other, you know, like three years ago we were like, there's nothing new to say analytically. We were such dummies. There's always something new. There's always something new under the sun, isn't that nice? Yeah, and maybe you're looking for smaller and smaller edges. I don't know. But there is always some new frontier. And also, Joey Bart, the Giants top prospect at one time and replacement for the retired Buster Posey. He was demoted. He has not filled Buster Posey shoes, although those would be difficult to fill. But that just made me think a little bit about just the range of rookie performance because a lot of highly touted rookies who have made the majors this season have struggled, notably, raid and in varying amounts of playing time. So adley Richmond, for varying degrees of severity, right? Adley Richmond's hitting one 43 two 26 one 96, 62 plate appearances. I don't think anyone's worried about adley regiment. But it is interesting how some players, no matter how talented and polished, they undergo an adjustment period. And others do not. So Richmond is struggling. We've talked about Jared kelme and all the issues that he went through. And there are other guys that, you know, CJ Abrams is another one who has not hidden his major league playing time this year. I guess Spencer torkelson has been somewhat disappointing, you know, a lot of those like, oh wow, this guy's arrived and then it's like, and other guys. It was my greatest sound effect. But other guys, maybe there's an adjustment period where they start out slumping, but then they get it together, like Julia Rodriguez. Maybe had umpire calls going against him, but he has turned things around and now he's maybe the scariest hitter in that Mariners lineup. When you say that, that doesn't sound like much. Yeah, no. But he has been legitimately he's been legitimately very, very good of late. And I think when I left to go deal with some family stuff, I think he was leading the majors in stolen bases. Is he still? Oh, wow, I didn't even look, but he has 17 of them. Yeah, sure as well. Among qualified here is I can't imagine that there's we need a different word than qualified because it makes it sound like I'm saying something mean about those guys. Sure, I'm not, yeah. He just sure leads the majors and so on bases like that, Julio. So he slipped initially, but then got it together and maybe you could lump Bobby witt into that group where he started really slow in his pick things up somewhat. But then there are other guys like Nolan Gorman was raking in triple-A and then got up to the majors and continued to rake. Or like Jeremy Pena, who was one of the best players in baseball, this season, not just one of the best rookies, but one of the most valuable places..

"Quickly. That ball drilled the left field back goes verdugo. He's going to watch this one go. You're not Alvarez. Hits one out the other way over the monster. His success against a Baldi continues. It's an almost all his damage on the road as he drives one high to right field. This win is going to help this one all the way back, Bradley, junior God. Over the Astros bullpen and right. A two run shot and the Astros take a three to one lead. Elevate to that pull side and use mother nature to give you a boost. And carried out here this ball's drilled to left field all the way back and gone. Jeremy Pena, welcome back to Fenway. In front of his dad is mom friends and family Pena. Drills one over the monster, what a moment for the kid from Rhode Island. Bradley drives one high and deep to right field has he done it yes. Three rumba. We said he doesn't take a lot of home run swings, but there was one. A three run shot and the Astros Corey get on here with a 7 spot in the second inning. Gilly guriel drives one deep to left field. Number 5 on the inning. Incredible. The Astros have troubled 5 home runs in the second inning. And lead this game 9 to one..
