"Excuse. I couldn't do that. That was the worst part. I could have the worst part. Exactly. I had to say it. Amazing from the rat rink. And you know, that's a guy that with miles wood me and biz dusted in a sandbag or at denim country pull almost got him kicked out of that club too. I don't know if I'm way off here, but I'm pretty sure what he first met was cranking it. And then he's like, oh, shit. Yeah, I meant wiping my ass. Like, I don't know if he meant wiping his ass off the start. But the way he was trying to spit it out, it was a classic clip from the rat rink. Hey, can I just switch hands for that? The stranger? Yeah. It feels like the real thing. That's what you call it, the stranger. All the strangers when people sit on their hand and numb it so you don't even feel like it's your hand. I've never tried that for anyone wondering at all. RA wasn't drunk in many. Yeah, no, it'd be dexterous, you know. I could see already being the guy to put like a ziploc bag with lube on it and fuck between the mattresses or something. Jeez, sounds like he sounds like an idea you came up with. Did you guys I'm sure you saw the clip I sent you. It was pretty cool. Islanders in kings played the other night and after the game I had referee dean Morton, I guess he's announced his retirement, but I don't know when exactly he's going to try to investigate, but I couldn't seem to find out. But they all give him, you know, we've seen it before at refs. They all gave Mike handshakes and a bunch of guys gave him hugs and had a nice little chat. Just like a cool little video, but I said, I don't know if he's retiring at the end of the season because it is only January, but it was a pretty cool clip to see, you know, the respect that all the sentence after this year. Yeah. You can't do it like a season and a half in advance. I just didn't know the timing of it with those two teams. That's always just the reverse Tom Brady. Oh, like you're wondering if that was his last name. 'cause they say he's retiring, but I was like, okay, that's a January game between these two teams that I hadn't seen him, you know, getting the goodbyes before. But either way it was very classy gesture by both teams both organizations and I know you know we dump on the reps once in a while here. We know they're a key integral part of the league. So it was nice to see the respect shown by all the players to those guys because they got a tough job. So good job fellas. They get the mic lifetime supply of therapy for all the fucking abuse they take from the guys. And now whenever he does retire, congrats to dean on a great career. Let's see, Vancouver named Patrick elvin, the general manager, Jim Rutherford announced that the other day, the team, Canada, rosto was announced. Noteworthy names on their Owen power, Eric stahl, Josh hosen, Devin Levi, among the players named, it does sound like power, will join buffalo right when Michigan sees and ends whenever that may be and Jeremy Colton has replaced Claude Julian as Canada's head coach. I guess Julian was doing a team building activity in Switzerland. He took a Dixie on the ice, fractured a couple ribs, sold as doctor said he's not fit enough to fly to Beijing. And well, 12 year, he saw the roster. He's like, oh, yeah. How do I get out of that? Look at this random banana peel right here. Have fun, guys. A good luck to call to know. You know, that was a tough exit in Chicago and a young up and coming coach. It's nice for him to get a second chance here. Julian's never skied before and he just takes the lift up to a double black diamond and Switzerland just goes straight down. This'll get me out of it. He's like, oh, look at this, so half pipe. A lot of people suspect that stall is gonna be the captain who would probably make the most sense. And if he is, it would be 12 years after winning gold back in Vancouver. He's already a member of the triple gold club Olympic Stanley Cup World Cup, so let's see moving right along. Oh, the east coast Hockey League suspended Jacksonville iceman for Jacob pineta for the rest of the season, a 38 games as a result of a racial gesture. He'll have a conditional opportunity to apply for reduction of the suspension and reinstatement after March 17th of this year, pending successful completion of a learning experience conducted in conjunction with the NHL's player inclusion committee, the statement from ECHL commissioner, Ryan crean, quote, insensitive actions and gestures regardless of intent can not be tolerated in our game. We all need to learn and grow from this incident and remain steadfast to further educating and advancing our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion throughout our league. Did you want to comment on this? Because I felt that obviously he came out with a statement afterwards saying that that was not what he was gesturing. I feel bad for him. I feel bad for Jordan subban as well. Yes. But I also call me a sucker. I believe that this kid completely was doing the tough guy, should shoulder shrug move. It was taken the wrong way. And now all of a sudden his seasons basically over. He was released who knows if he gets signed and it was a lot different than the other instance of the kid completely admitting what he was doing as opposed to this one. So first teammates to come out and release a statement. I thought that was really nice of him. I think they all believe in the character that they know Panetta is truly a good guy and wouldn't have done that. But it's just a shitty situation. Yeah. Yeah. And obviously we're not discrediting what Jordan said about it and we talked last week about how PK spoke and he said, these are the types of gestures that they would see growing up. So both can be true here, I think. Right, exactly, right? So it sucks. I don't know if they've been able to communicate and have a conversation about it, but you just hope that if in fact that wasn't what he was gesturing that this can all be somehow patched up behind the scenes to where there is no animosity where subban is able to believe that that wasn't the gesture, but you know you can't put yourself in sub band shoes because you don't know what he put up with growing up his whole life. So it's just such an unfortunate situation, but as I said, if in fact that that was not what he was doing for him to get his whole season canceled and, you know, for this, which it probably still will, it's going to follow him around the rest of his career and probably into his professional life, right? And if it's not what he intended to do and not what he actually was doing, it's just it's fucking brutal, man. It sucks. And it creates more divisiveness and that's not to also take away from the other incident that happened last week with Boko uma with the incident in the AHL as well. So it was a really tough week and to hear that news. It's just like you hope that they eventually get it all right. And that we don't have to deal with this thing in the future. Well, said biz well said all right, well this one is for all you league hockey players. Make you a team the envy of the league with men's league sweaters. I can't imagine some of the beauty uniforms we're gonna see out in Vegas this week because the chiclets cup, men's league sweaters are gonna be all over the place and they crush it, man. Whether they are doing for jokes or whatever, I feel real team..

"So one of the things that was mentioned in the I would call it confusion, I would say that there was confusion. Okay. Well, from people online at least, which I guess is no shocker, but that's where I get my information. You can explain this best. You think so? Yes, I do. Well, there are some people saying that, apparently, when eichel was interviewed by butcher goss, mind you, we still have the exclusive, but just aren't exclusive excuses. When he was asked a similar question to the would you have came back to play for the sabers? I guess his answer was I'm not sure, you know, I didn't know, but when we had him on, we asked the question, you know, would you have came back and played for the buffalo Sabres and what he said was, is as soon as they told him he couldn't get the surgery, he was willing to say if you allow me to get the surgery that I want. I will come back once I'm healthy in a buffalo Sabres uniform, which I completely agree that he would have done that because for two reasons. Then more than likely he would have gotten it gotten it later in the summer and then he would have been able to play in the Olympics. So it does benefit him at some regard. But as he mentioned during the interview, he said, I was willing to try to boost my stock. So if I come back and I'm playing healthy hockey, and I'm at a point of game, maybe it opens up the amount of teams that are willing to trade for you then at that point because you've got to think the risk of taking it on with how the surgery goes was a deterrent for probably some teams to where they didn't even get a package ready. Exactly. Whereas once that would have been proven where the surgery, which I believe has been done in one other sport. It's been done in a bunch of other sports. It's never been done in hockey. So either way, we just wanted to clear that up. I thought that was and the thing is sorry that you actually brought this up too. Tarasenko wanted a trade and who knows what's gonna happen, but he's shown up he's played well. And went back. You never never know. And he lights it up and the team's winning, which they're doing great right now. Everyone better than everyone thought. You just never know. So the fact that he was willing to do that, I thought went a long way and it never got out into the news at any point. That's a great point. The Bob Dylan shirt, I know you were talking about that after you didn't like him. I'll be honest, man. I'm not the biggest Bob Dylan guy. Hey an online. Granelli said everyone was dog and Bob Dylan. I don't know that many songs. I just know he's one of the all time greats. He's a classic artist, no doubt. He's one of his Grammys. He's changed the game a lot, but this is my test for a guy made my generation. I don't have one fucking Bob Dylan album was CD. I never have. I'm not saying he's not good about it. Just not my cup of tea. Apparently he wasn't the nicest guy either. Yeah, I think he was known as a bit as an asshole. A bit of a grump. Yeah. That's what I hear. I don't want to start rumors that sometimes I get my stocks. He's no doubt alleged of The Rock and roll game the old school rock game, but Jack's a huge classic rock fan. That's why we kind of brought out our first interview with him. I think pre business days, yeah, that was one of the big foodies. All right, moving right along. Appell Brady could chuck no surprise. He gets the sea and Ottawa becomes the tenth captain in Senate's history. Also the youngest coach DJ Smith said quote, he's beneath the irine Oscars two years old, and he's lived the NHL and knows nothing but it. So I think that gives him a leg up and we're talking about, you know, a young captain and quote, and of course his father was a 21 year old captain of Winnipeg back in 1993. I mean, we've talked about it before this guy was just like all set. This is like genetically predisposed for Brady to chuck to be NHL captain. You're getting some of the best advice on a daily basis via text or phone call. And I am not going to give away who we interview, but we kind of beat this subject up quite a bit today is a lot of times with the way the league goes and how young it is now. These seeds are getting slapped on young guys. I mean, look at Jack. You know, who did he get a chance to learn from in Buffalo and how to do it. So despite the disadvantage you might be as a young captain in today's game, at least he's able to get that advice from his old man and other people that I'm sure he's hung around this whole life. This is what should be going on. This is the way that things are done. And you need that. Because if you know in order to have a winning team, you got to have the right leadership and the locker room galvanizing the group and getting them heading in the right direction. And it's not easy, man. Some of these guys kind of get put on an island. And I just figured I'd mention Jack as an example. No, it's true. And just to have your father have had the career he did and just learning. That kid knows more about hockey before he got into the NHL than most guys once they've played a couple of years. It's just he's been around the game that long. I think Matt will probably be the captain in Calgary. I know it's like name was out there in that Ikea room. Apparently they were fucking apparently that was phantom. I saw his name and then I was like, what? That doesn't really make much sense. But he could end up being a captain in Calgary. I'm really happy for Brady. And it goes to show. If you're somebody who's willing to fight, you can score. You can do it all. It makes all the more sense to be a captain, right? He's not a one way player. He does every little thing. And I think guys absolutely love playing with them. So that's the biggest factor right there. And being in a locker room since coaches two years old. Oh, yeah. Basically been training to be an NHL guy your whole life. So congrats to you, Brady. We know you're gonna do great things in Ottawa. Moving right along another bad story out of Chicago, but I guess compared to the last several this isn't all that bad. Head coach Jeremy Colton was fired Saturday after the team was pasted 5 to one Friday night by Winnipeg. I left them with a one 9 and two records, so they finally get rid of calls and they brought in Derek king. He was promoted from HLA HL Rockford. He's been named interim coach for the rest of the year by interim GM Kyle Davidson. The hawks did win his debut two to one Sunday Night in overtime versus Nashville, Carlton was in his fourth season with the team in the first of a two year extension, just another move Bowman made that probably was not for the best. But either way, Chicago is moving on. It looks like they're finally kind of scratching everything away from these last think of the last several months biz and you know, this gives them a little bit more leeway, but cushion. Yeah, well there's three ways to go with this. The fact that I think that there is a bit of a rift between Bowman and Bill, I don't want to say a personal level, but he kind of wanted him out and I think that there was really no winning and whatever coach you were going to put in that position, especially a very young coach first time.

"On you. I think you could pull off any look. We got pink Whitney ties coming for you. There you go. All righty. Okay. Well, there's some idea. Anyone else got any ideas? Send me a couple tweets as to what I should wear. Now, next week is Halloween boys. So maybe I'll dress up. Maybe I'll put the Wayne sweater vests on. That's a yes. And since we're talking about do you already have costumes picked out for your kids? Do you pick them or do they pick them at this age? Ryder maybe could have the wife wifey pecks them. I got mine, I'll send you the picture. It's amazing. To me. We get to hear everyone's probably everyone's probably seen this before, but no, I'm not even gonna talk about it yet. Put it this way, there's a thing in my pocket that I still like blow the thing up the whole time I'm wearing it. So I have a costume party on Saturday night, and then I think another one I think another one Sunday before trigger treating, I don't know exactly know the weekend schedule of Halloween, but it dropped on a Sunday's gonna probably make it pretty lit in my neighborhood. My neighborhood's great for trick or treating kids running around everywhere. We buy the full candy bars 'cause I remember when I was younger I'd go to a house to give you a fucking M and ms. I said, oh my God, if I ever make it in life, I'm gonna have the big boy candy. And be the guy everyone's like, thank you, holy shit, you're full candy, not these little miniature bites. So we've done that, but then last year's COVID, but still we ran out, that's a nightmare. You run on a candy, you're a piece of shit. So we didn't get enough. So this year we bought so much problems. I've already gotten into the stache. Crushing this food. So we've got to go back to the store. I'm going to go back to maybe Costco, really load up. But I'm changing my diet. I'm going off the sauce. I got to get surgery on my elbow. Things are changing in Ryan's. Well, I'm getting back to being a legitimate human being who doesn't drink all the time who doesn't eat like a super rat and who maybe dresses a little better. So things are on the up and up. So the kids in witt's neighborhood can thanks Sid for the full candy bars. Now when you run at a candy, you just start peeling off 20s. How does it work? I go in the fridge. You want some beef stew? There's some extra, there's some chili, dude. I got frozen pizzas. You want a frozen pizza? Kids leave it with a if he's like, maybe 12, I'll give him pink Whitney, but nothing under ten gets pink Whitney. So we'll figure it out. I might give him golf balls. Yeah, I probably ones. But no, I know. I give him I give him the range ball. The Rock fights. The top rock balls. Yeah. But you play with. But more importantly for the adults who don't have kids, Halloween parties are back, and a Sunday Halloween perfect winds up for Friday parties, Saturday parties last year. There was nothing going on. It feels like it's been 6 Halloween. It hasn't been a potty. I don't know why I just like it's been forever. I wonder if there's going to be a lot of slutty biz costumes out there that you have business with you know, taking off on TNT, everything they make a slot out of everything nowadays. Based costs. I don't know. What would that be though? This is the it would be the Dennis Kevin Hayes sent over to us. Horrible salad with a small disgusting horn looking like the warm and at tequila bottle. Hold suit with a rip in it. I was really hoping that last year, I know you guys wrote the skull, but I wouldn't take the hat off. I was praying that Halloween come back in time just 'cause I actually did it in the shower if I was gonna be beetlejuice. I might have said it before in the hair would have been perfect because like Michael Keaton was bald in the head come out in a perfect level. So I'm probably never gonna grow that skull it back again. But if we could have gone a Halloween, I would have the best betel juice costume ever. Because when you can incorporate your natural self into the costume like you hear your limbs. Why didn't you do it last year? Halloween went on last year. Yeah, but it was like there was no nobody in my orbit was having parties. There was nothing, you know, going on basically where I was going to try. I was going to be like, a frequent dress is always beetlejuice. I'll do that. I ain't gonna tell you guys about that. All right. All right. I just mentioned pink, weighty, of course, the fall classic is here. Hockey and hoops are in full swing and pig skin as well. So that means head over to your local bar and make sure to order some pink Whitney. It's the perfect false shot for you and your friends. Again, hit up your local stash house. Your local buy local dive whatever you call it and get some pink Whitney from you in them. Guys and gals. I boys. Let's see. Should we talk about some hockey? We usually lead off with the positive stories, but this week, Chicago. We're going to keep it negative off the hop here. Oh, fuck yeah. Right into it. Right into the black hole. Yeah. So it's not necessarily negative because if you hate the Blackhawks, you're the happiest son of a bitch out there right. That's true. They suck. This team all right, I don't know, you have anything else to say. All 5 and one outscored 27 of 12 boot off the ice when they lost a Detroit last night. I guess there are more red winged fans in the building than Black Hawk fans, which is yikes. They have yet to have a lead, which chief said was an NHL record. They have 5 even strength goals just to assist 12 shots on golf and Jonathan tapes as biz said they don't appear to be playing with the urgency and then last night we had what appeared to be Jeremy Colton, handing the grease board to the players to let them do whatever on it. That just sketch and hand it back. This is a cluster fuck right now. I know you're revved up. You ready to go? Just got to correct one thing. I believe that they were booed off the ice, the two games prior as well. So let's make it a hat trick. Yeah for the,.

"Of six straight games and the only 11 of them. He was starting to see some fatigue with this team. And so right around the first part of April, they dialed back the number of practices they were doing now. They were also that trade deadline was the second week in April. They were adding players and subtracting so You're taking practice time away. You're changing personnel, so they're not getting a The amount of time that they normally would get to get assimilated into a new team. But he was doing this to keep his team's his team fresh. It was kind of a fine line to walk. Here's Collison on that topic. We have backed off the practices a lot here in the second half, and just because of China, trying to keep guys fresh. I think that's hurt us. Ah, lot. I don't know if there was another way to go As far as you know, we felt like we needed more rest, but I think we This group needs practice as well. So we're trying to get in as much as we can. Brian Jeremy feels that That practice that High tempo. Work ethic approach that he asked for in practice shows up in games and that's what he saw. The first half of the season. Didn't see it is much. That was the question. You asked the top. Have you seen it lately? And I think the two go hand in hand a little bit. But that's something this team's gonna have to figure out because when you look at their success against the teams that are above them in the standings, that's where they struggled. Only one win against the Lightning on Lee one win against the Panthers to one against the Predators to against the Panthers and two against the Hurricanes. They've got six wins against the wings and the Blue Jackets, two teams. That are below them in the stands, So you know that's that's an area they're going to need to pick fix. Because if you look at those teams, those teams are bigger. They're built. I'm gonna ask it too sharp to do in this current NHL is The size matter to size matter is that why we're seeing the Hawks struggle against bigger teams? Is it because they lack some of that? That size to get to the front of the net. To be able to hold position when they're defending from your vantage point. Do you feel like that's a factor? I think it's definitely a factor to be interesting to hear what Sharpie has to say. And if he agrees that it is how do you go about fixing that? So? I mean, it's great that they extended Riley. You know, they did trade deadline bring in some bigger bodies. And the orchestra, Miz, you know, supposedly putting on weight and it's gonna be a bigger player once he gets over here next year, So there's some help on the way, But is it enough and Is it enough to, you know, finish games We We've talked about throughout this year on the hockey show How many times they've been trailing in games? How long they've been trailing in games, the uphill slog and how much it takes out of you. But even the other night once you get At last minute goal or the last period goal, finishing the job. I mean that that's when skill comes in, and do they have enough skill? It's great to break it, and can you know what's going to get from them? Um, beyond that, I don't know. If you have guys you can count on each and every night or you can expect X number of points each and every season. So our Twitter poll question right now up on our ESPN hockey show Page. Assuming the Blackhawks fall short of the playoffs this season was Success encouraging a tease or disappointment. Encouraging is leading right now at 48% teas and disappointment are tied at 24% on Lee 4% said. Successful. I told you about some of the tweets that we've seen. As of late from this team. One of them is putting Alex to brink it. And Kirby dock together on the penalty kill. And you know, those are obviously too offensive minded guys to break it, of course, has a 200 ft game that he's really enhanced over the last couple of years. Jerry Collinson says he's the best player away from the park on the team as far as winning battles and 50 fifty's s o. You put those two together with some offensive upside on your penalty kill and you're going to get Some short handed opportunities like we saw the other night. I think they have free short handed opportunities. Here's Collison on the plan to put cat and dock together on the penalty kill. They've done it kind of really good job, you know, throughout their getting used to it, there's still Some reeds and things that they got a sort of s o. You know, primarily the goal is to keep the puck out of our net on the penalty kill, but the fact they can generate chances going the other way they're gonna break through and score. But it's also what keeps the other the opposition, honest. And you know if I like What that adds 13 special teams is an area that you would say Power play wise, the ranking. Was there pretty much Most of the season. They've been AH, top 10 team that for a long time they were top three. Most of the season. It has come back down to Earth as of late, and I think a lot of that Brian is Playing the same teams over and over. They knowing your tendencies, I saw an adjustment from the opposition off how they attack the Blackhawks Power play. I think Some of their lack of success is because of the knowledge that the opposition has in the fact that they played him so many times. Yeah, and you know, when you look at the penalty penalty kill, I'm I grew with you the on the power play it. It goes from 36% shocking the entire league and shocking us quite frankly, down to 27%. And somewhere in the middle, hopefully is the sweet spot because you couldn't live with 30 32% the P K. I don't know that It's been a long time. If ever that I've seen a team that is so streaky on penalty kills where you can look awful for a week and a half and then kill off 17, including including majors, right, right. So I'm not sure what group that's gonna be. It's good to see that Jeremy College in his staff have been tinkering with it, and again that they've had a multi test this entire season right and his heart of hearts. I don't know that Jeremy Colton thought they were going to be in the second of playoff conversation for as long as the team was So now you're chasing the character at the end of the stick and trying to get postseason And you're also just doing what you would have done anyway. To rebuild if the team wasn't good enough Tiuna sniff of the postseason, right? So I think they've been doing a terrific job and he's been very consistent. His approach and You know, it's good..

"Is this sort of these past 10 seconds before overtime for this station identification. You're listening to Chicago Blackhawks hockey, The Blackhawks, Wild Cats and the NFL play here on a M 7 20 on smart speakers. Just say play WGN. Chicago. Well, we'll find out in overtime. If we're gonna get the cane to brink it combination again. But right now, Troy has a little something in his hand. Well, just the OT record for Detroit this season one and two past regulation. They haven't gone. Into a shoot out this season. The Blackhawks three and too old and too in the shootout. They've won their last three in overtime in the last two combination of That's your cane to Alex to break. It has been the difference in the game and I would assume that our starting lineup Jeremy Colton will throw out There will be David Camp in the middle with cane and Keith and again if they win the draw. Camp goes off if they lose the draw, Cane goes off. See if I'm Jeff Flash. I'm drawn Glendenning out there to take this opening face off over time just so they could get pot possession. Well, Dylan Larkin is gonna take the drawn 53% or coming into The night's action. So not bad. Just your captain to get the job done. Alright? Gonna be large and against David camp on the opening draw for overtime. And the boys get in there a little too hard time dropping the puck here. I know what he wants to get into the equation. Nice and Baker, the linesman giving last second instructions, and he's adamant. Tell him all right. The drop of the puck. Larkin skewers in away. Keep grabs. The fuck of the Hawk's own pushes it out to center ice camp will stay on their markets circling back to get it at the Red Wing blue line. Passes on the right wing at center ice to Roenick. "Pat Foley, NBC SPORTS Chicago Last night, One backhanded fluffer model is taken to calling them fluffy passes because he doesn't really know when, while and Sylvie talk hockey. It's hilarious. They don't really know the vernacular. And you know, of course, years ago in Melun once made the most hilarious open. You'll ever hear. You know about the they were talking about defenseman in their sticks and to defenseman play with longer sticks, and it's like when they start talking hockey could be kind of funny. And one of the other day he goes, man. Candor makes these like these fluff passes. They're fluffy. And Sylvie said, is that the term fluffy and I started texting them right away. You're gonna help him for sauce you're looking for the term is backhand sauce. You know when it's on the plate, like it was yesterday was a backhand pass. That's that's backhand sauce, not backhand fluff. Okay. Just saucer pain. It's a saucer path. So we call it backhand sauce. Extra sausage. I used your car sauce. No, I think you might be in the dark on this one. You've never heard on the ice there. Hey, give me a fluffer, buddy. How about a nice fluffer? Send one over the com Center. Nice fluffer over this one. I send Fluffy boy set me up like fluffer Lassie passes. They're not fluffy passes their saucy passes its sauce backhand sauce. You're talking like you're more familiar with sauce. And most he's half a town that's right for the red sauce, Zit cream sauce. It's a vodka sauce. It's any kind of sauce. It's any kinds of pesticide RVs. It's any kind of sauce you want, but I love it. He's sticking with this fluffy thing. So we were having fun with it on Twitter last night, too. So what? I was going to call it fluff. Okay, That's fine. We'll call it sauce. We know what it actually is. I think Kenner had a couple of those again last night. Three point night for candor. That one was a tough one. I hope they bounced back tomorrow. Because after that, they hit the road for six straight. Don't you come back? No more no more. We'll see. We'll see. You know, everybody gets excited 65 and four. Here we are. 15 16 points to 15 games appointed games that good near the NHL appointed game is not good. The NHL remember that. Always remember that point a game in the NHL. You'd be about 15 20 points out of a playoff. Yep. You're out of a playoff spot, right? There were circumstances, but it's ah, slightly scaled back version. Who knows? I just hope they can kind of keep it interesting because they've been Maura. Interesting and fun to watch than I thought. I think that any of us thought if you went on those first four games is like, Oh, my God. This is gonna be a bloodbath all year and They played so much better since then, and they're actually appears to be some buying happening with the young guys in a couple of the veterans with Jeremy Colton. I mean, he's taken a lot of crap. Let's face it. I mean, it really has People have doubted him from the word. Go on. I get it. He's like 35. He gets the job replacing a legend. That ain't easy, man. And he doesn't say anything You never know with the press picked him. Nobody's got any faith it maybe you're right. But it's sort of unfair to call it in. You know, I mean, I don't have to be fair to Colton. The world's not a fair place. The other thing is he'll never win a press conference. I mean, he's just he's so dry. No personality, no personality whatsoever. His personality comes out on the ice, and certainly not there to impress, you know, even caters talking about guys buying in and you can keep the buy in. That's a good thing. So he must be doing something right in that room right now, when you got to replace a guy like you, you know you got the mustache and the charisma and the wind. He's charismatic and oh, my God and Cuba's chops like nobody could bust chops. Yeah. This infant child of a coach is gonna bust somebody's chops, right? It's it's hard, you know, like you kind of like it was like 632. Yeah, that's what I mean. Like you walks into a room is a presence in the president is a presence. This guy looks like he's gonna ask for your tax I d number so we can issue a check, you know? The hell's Collinson look like, but maybe we should cut him some slack. You know, it's it's working a little bit. The young guys are playing well. So listen, It's working a little bit when these guys air scoring 1.4. Points, You know, per game. That's when it's working, Carm. All right, we'll get slowly. But surely Right now we're comfortably mediocre. That's what that's what the Blackhawks are. It's better than being comfortably, not comfortably mediocre. Yeah, 3123323776. That's the number. If you want to join us at any point today we got bulls tonight. We'll see what Zach and Kobe do for an encore as they host the Clippers, and then it'll be a little bit of a stony top tonight. Yeah, against the arrested Clippers team, But they will play without Paul George, if I'm not mistaken tonight, the really tough with them on Super Bowl Sunday and I really like with Elgin Baylor's done with this. Yes, I know you don't mean this is president stuff. Not Super Bowl Sunday. Excuse me. It was the Sunday on which the Bears played their playoff game member. The Bulls had, like three o'clock game that nobody wants. Who's running the clip stuff. The Clippers. It's Tyron Lewis. Thank you. Thank you. Elgin. Baylor's gone. Al Jim. Bail has been gone for quite some time. Um Elgin has been gone for I don't I'm trying. I'm blanking on who their GM is. Right now. I think you'll be okay. You know, Doc's gone docks and attack. He's definitely gone. Tyron Tyron Lewis there. Michael Winger has the title of Clippers. You know, Manager? Yeah, they brought him in. I think he's doing a good job. The great Michael, You know what, though. You know who's above him? That's why I thought it was, But I wasn't sure, Lawrence Frank. Lauren said. He's the team president Lawrence Frank, former coach of Indianapolis. Former coach of the new matters. Next thing I was ever in India, right. Good old Lawrence. Frank coming up in a little bit here. We're going to play Alan Robinson. He was on Sirius XM. He is talking about any communication that he has had with the Bears about his future. You will hear from a rob Coming up, so don't go anywhere..

Here's Andrew Peek a newcomer to the Jackets lineup. Firing a shot from the right point this to flex in behind the Net. Cam Atkinson there to Michael del Zotto Left point to peek. Kevin Stand one, lose it and Oliver Bjork's Strand then to Domi, and he'll spin it down into the Hawk zone. We're going to get a whistle. And I believe icing will be called here against Columbus. "Jackets get the puck for a moment, Jones put it to the left wing corner Mitchell there to try and work it free. You go. Koivu headed for a moment. David camp, picks up the puck at the hot blue line and tried to use the board's toe, spend it behind the Jackets defenseman, but he ends up shooting the puck up into the Hawks bench. Jeremy Colton picked up that fucking through to a lucky fan in behind the Blackhawks bench. Always nice to get those pucks from the coaching staff Banned for life Boy You brought to the right of liking it. Monsters your door off in the far corner, but it behind the net. Keith will put the puck ahead picked off the hot blue line by Riley Nash asked to the left wing boards. Seeking on Keith took the fuck down to the corner than one hands behind the Hawk net. How Grigorenko there. We'll send it back around on the near side. Nash had trouble with it. And it reflects this center ice. Hi. Morris got it into the jackets own left wing. Put it in front of the net. Then it's just past the outstretched stick of Lucas Carlsson. Nearly a great chance there for the Hawks and Lucas Carlsson on the left handed defenseman jumping up into the play at the right time. But that booklet was in a position for right hander to kind of redirect that, and it was a tough play for the lefty. Try and make contact. Couldn't don't the Han behind the Hawk. "They have to have a mindset here that when you get in the offensive zone, spend some more time in that area. But when you have the opportunity, you've got to get bodies and park to the Net. And boy it just When you look at the gold look at the goals that they scored against Detroit, and they had five even strength goals in that last game, and you sit here and say, Well, Jeepers, we're going to the net and throw in the park to the Met. There's rebounds there. We're doing what we need to do. And all of a sudden it it it went right out the window. So you got attacked the middle of the ice tonight against Nashville, and I don't know why they've had such lack of success and scoring against national. Yeah, the Ah good team. They basically rolled with four defenseman. They didn't really play there. Third pairing. In the game last night, And when you've got Yoshi and Alison that comb and Fabbro out there, you got to make it tough on them. You gotta make them defend a lot more and use up some energy and their own into the ice, so they don't have the energy and the offensive side of it because those big fork back there Nashville expect them to play a lot of ice time tonight. But if it's an easy amount of ice time because they're not working hard, not battling. That's bad for the Blackhawks for those six goals on Sunday against Detroit, came below the dots. And between the circles building better by design is sponsored by architect of Chicago and creating thousands of gathering spaces for Chicago and families. And on yesterday's pretty game we heard from Brandon Hagel, who continues earning his time in the lineup and how he made his NHL debut on March 11th the final game before the pause. Hagel had to wait until last week, but he's been in the lineup since. Now, Nicholas Bohdan, who is Adam Beau Qu'est. Fellow 2018 1st Round pick gets his second chance tonight. Ready after waiting and putting together one of the more impressive training camps that kept him on the taxi squad. Yeah, I don't think it was a lost opportunity for me. You know, I just came and I played one game and I think I did well, so I was really happy about that. And just here. It's just about getting better every day, you know. I want to show that out of my place here with what everyone continue to be better, You know, gapping up, killing, placing the DEA's own making some place and I think all of those stuff. They just it just gone with confidence, so I just need to build build up my confidence, continue to build it up, and I think it's just gonna be good for me. Well, he instilled some confidence in the coaching staff with the way he worked in the off season since he put on about 80 £10 still not a big defenseman. He won't be all his. You know, Bread and butter is going to come with his stick work in his footwork and reading plays and he gets another opportunity here tonight, And I know Jeremy Carlson very complimentary. I think he was tempted earlier on to insert Bohdan into the lineup. The opportunity here comes tonight. What have you seen from him and training camp compared to previous camps. I think there's a different confidence level and an awareness of how you have to play in the NHL. When you first come in you. You really have no idea. You have no clue. What it takes to play in the NHL. And that comes over coming into training camp, Seeing how guys like Duncan Keith on the blue line, Brent Seabrook, the veteran players prepare themselves and how hard they have to work Tonto shin themselves to play at at this level, and that's something that for the younger players, they just don't understand. They think they work out hard, but they don't understand how hard they actually Have to commit to what you do in the off season, and it sounds like Bohdan did that this offseason. He put on some weight. He said that he feels better that way. And I think Justin awareness of how the game is played at this level. Is something that that he can build on from the lessons that he's learned when he's been in camp when he's been in the all of the groups with it with the veteran players, So you know, we'll see what happens tonight. Looks like Jeremy Colton is gonna roll seven defenseman I thought last night when you had some guys on the blue line struggling Um, that it was tougher for Sheldon Brooke Banked who runs the defense and Jeremy College in to find guys who were ready to go out there who were playing at a level that you needed to have. So actually much time was they spent in their own zone last night. Yeah, so I think that by going with seven defenseman, you know, he's basically telling a lot of people in the line up on the on the blue line there that if you don't play well and you're not performing, you're not going to see the ice because we've got an extra guy in the lineup for that reason, all right, Thanks for the knowledge, Troy let you go. Ready for the call with John and stop the are Thanks for the swag. Thanks for the swag is How funny is that way? Didn't talk before this, So, Yeah, we're the Bobbsey triplets, I guess coming up. Next we go behind the bench with head coach to hear me, Callison. I will create opportunities in transition, or, you know, we get a puck back in the offensive zone. You're close to the net, and you're ready to create a chance. Like all Taki is sponsored by Bud Light. There's a Bud light there. Vandal Sports book You look Leon Citgo Feeling good plumbers..

"And, you know, finds his rhythm a little bit. You'll be using him in those situations and he's a great backup is far as you know, in any kind of Um Position. You want to use them. You've just got some great depth down the middle. You mean not high end elite depth that you see what Jonathan tapes and what we saw from Kirby Doc, but you know, some solid depth down the middle, and that's important versatility. Jeremy Colijn is now at the podium. Let's listen to him is back and forth with reporters. Media. Thank you very much for joining us. We'll start right away with a comment from Jeremy Colton. Yeah, I thought we played well for for a lot of the game, You know, second period. For a little bit. You know, we've got a bit up and down a bit scrambling with our puck plays, but No. The the Murphy goal was big for us, you know, to go in just with a little more breathing room. But overall, the start the third period. Very solid, professional approach. I thought on we were rewarded for it so Obviously really happy for Souter t. Oh, it's a big night for him and Out their team, of course, but a lot of lot of positives for us. Recognizing that we gotta keep getting better. We certainly can't be satisfied with with this performance, But for today, we could be happy. Scott, You're Mike's active, even go ahead. Jimmy, from what you thought suited to some video entering the season. What's translated well to this this level? Yeah, I watched him quite a bit last year when we were Trying to sign him and And just, you know, the beginning of this season. I think he's skating better. I think he's improved just his mobility from Last year to this year. He's very smart player. He's really good around the net, but I think his skating meats allowed him Tonto Dr. Play and get through the neutral zone. Get out of the zone and Obviously explaining some a couple of pretty good players. But you know if you can help them, get out of the zone and get attacking off the rush. And in the offensive zone. It's you can really help us. So you know, I thought It was very strong game for him, but going back even the last couple games. If the production hasn't always been there, he makes a lot of small decisions that It adds up to being a stable, you know, protect his linemates, protect his teammates. And but today great to see him break through offensively. I love that he he was willing to shoot in on that two on one a lot of guys who just looking to give it to caner and you know, I just thought It was really a really good sign, but he continues to wanna be the guy to make a play himself. Camps lying to have a lot of possession. They what element table add to them. And how do you feel like they look? Yeah, I think really happy with eggs. He's skating very well. He's pressure in the park Keys. It was not a lot of glide in his game. He's able to again. He protects the guys on the ice with by Getting back above the popcorn. He doesn't have it and putting pressure on causing turnovers. It's allowed them to play a little more in the offensive zone. And when you're playing against the other team's good players that Z what you need to do. You can't just be defending all the time. So you know, I think the three of them You know, I have had some really good five on ship's the last couple games, and we'd like to use Higgs a little bit on the killer's well so that I could be some area growth form. We go now to J. Cohen with The Associated Press in Chicago. J. Your lines active. Go ahead. Jeremy, another power play goal for you guys today. What are you seeing on the power play this year compared to past years. Well, I think Big part of it is execution. We're being cleaner with the puck breaking pressure. You know, off four guys being an option so we can brake pressure. And then you know, we got think two different. You different ways to scores for us how the units are comprised. Kuby's group former shooting power play and then guys, you want to shoot playing simple but playing clean. And then the other group can use group a lot of movement, a lot of interchange, forcing the killed to sort and re sort, And if you do that enough times and recover Recover enough pucks you're gonna break through, and I think that's that's also a big improvement for our team. We're covering a lot more pucks in the offensive zone on the power play, and that helps you create more. Go now to Pat Boyle with NBC. Sports Chicago Pat your mikes active. Go ahead. Hey, Jeremy, Would you say that the effort and approach that your team took today? Five on five was the approach that you talked about before the season strong in all three zones, winning battles, setting up the next shift. Was this exhibit a of of how they need to play to be successful. Yeah, it was better. I think we've been taken steps forward every game and Sometimes you're going to do do everything right and it's hard. It's a battle it Z not going to go with your way all the time. But you give yourself a chance, and I think the pressure on the puck and willingness to skate and to work and it Tomo worked to get above to get pucks back. That allows you You're gonna have the puck born and then it's easier to play and you're able to play in the offensive zone and draw penalties and and create offense..

"Patrick Kane, who brought us back to the airwaves here tonight, scoring on a beautiful backhander. Theo tie the score of three near the end of the second period. We went to the third period, the team's traded goals and went to overtime and Frank Vitrano scoring at 2 50 overtime for the Florida Panthers from bark off and weaker and the Blackhawks record now old, three and one. As I mentioned, they're not leaving Florida empty handed. They will get one out of a possible eight points. I know that's not going to be acceptable for the Blackhawks as players, the coaching staff, the organization or the fan base, but the me the solace in this game was the 60 minute plus effort by this team, and you talked about it a little bit before we left the airwaves. If they play that way every single night, which is possible, Okay, They're going to be some circumstances. They're going to be difficult. But if they play that kind of a game every night, they're gonna get their share points. They did a nice job of focusing Period, the period they didn't get down two times in this game. They were down by a couple goals, and they battled back to tie it. They actually had the lead at one point, So there was a lot of good things that happen in this game. A lot of Good things that Jeremy call it can call it Incan talk about between now and the game against the Red Wings on Friday. They get a couple days off. They'll travel back to Chicago tonight. Day off tomorrow practice on Thursday and get ready for that game, But but I think everybody is going to be disappointed that they didn't win this game. They worked hard enough and a terrible calling right Carpenter by the way that gave the Florida Panthers that last power play chance that they were able to capitalize on no way that should have been a penalty. On carpenter. You feel bad for him? Because I know he feels bad. He's just that type of player. But if you're looking at the Blackhawks and you're saying, Okay, we need to have a good solid 60 minute effort. It was. They're not clean. You were not perfect. They gotta clean up a few things, but a lot of good things came out of this one. Okay. Who's your Midwest? Excuse me. Ditch Which player of the game Pretty easy. And this one dominant Kubelik, with a 3.9 was three point night was plus one. And 13.5 minutes. Now I don't even know how accurate that is. But seven shots on goal, hey, was very noticeable from the opening shift that he was on the ice to the last shift. He was very noticeable out there that this was player of the game is a no brainer. What did you think of Kevin Langan? His performance tonight? You know, he wasn't bad. He wasn't bad. There wasn't anything that he led in. That was Unease e goal. I thought his positioning was pretty good. I liked what I saw. I think that you don't If you're Kevin Lincoln, and you give up five, and that's that's way too much. You're not gonna win many hockey games. If you're giving up five goals, and there's reasons why there given up the five goals, too mean too many penalties. Mistakes in the neutral zone. You're not managing the pocket at times, but He did enough in this game to win, but for Kevin Lincoln, and he's going to be disappointed that he gave up that last goal. But at the same time I thought that he was really good in this game looks pretty solid. Want to see more of them want to see more of the kind of play we saw with the Blackhawks fought back to tie and eventually take their first lead in the year and If you're Gilbert, If you're the Blackhawks in here, Jeremy Colton and you got Jimmy, Wait the goaltender coach. Each goaltender has given up five goals in every appearance. Who do you look for? On Friday? I just I don't know how you You figure that one out, but You move forward, You pick up a valuable point and again as you said, John. Lots of good things to build on. But the names in the hat reach in and grab one, and that's our guy is. Let's see Shaq plant in there or maybe Well, they'll get it done. All right. "Or to be ready for until you experience it so as far as his actual knowledge of the game or his approach to coaching the team. Um, that hasn't changed a whole lot. You know, he's still got some of the same principles that Guide him. But I think you know when you first came onto the scene, it was this was new for him a lot of these buildings he'd never been to before He never coached against these other coaches and You can try to simulate that in your mind what It would be like to go up against another team. And you know, you watch that coach on television. You see how he runs his bench. Until you actually get on the bench and you're coaching against them and you seeing how they, you know, use their personnel. I think that's something that he's gotten some more reps there and he's I think he's more comfortable with that, and as a result, he's able T do things better than maybe in in the first year or something like that. So I think his actual coaching knowledge of you know what he wants our team to do. That hasn't really changed a whole lot like he's got his principles and that he believes in and that he teaches, But I would say his knowledge of the league just through his experience. He's lived it. He's been You know, around the league couple times over. So now he knows what to expect. And it sounds like it's a small point. Um, that how much would that really matter? But I think it's actually an important thing. And now you know, I feel like his comfort levels higher and it's certainly gonna help. Moving forward that Stan Bowman on Jeremy Colton, and that is a wrap for the vandal. Chicago Blackhawks pregame show.
