"I am a feminist but today Yoga I overheard a woman in the shoe area saying will men men like to claim this way but women to scrub. That's the difference between men and women how they clean and I wanted to say. Excuse me I don't want to be rude. But these binary ways that we talk about men and women do invite a certain culture that says that somehow Manohla always like this and women are like this best you kind of know to cleaning trend. You kind of noted agenda trend. Don't undermine that but saying men do and women do that. It's actually not that helpful but what I wanted to say. Even more was how common link to clean because I missed that pond. I heard that women's scrubbing wing section. How to clean because as far as I can make out not at all but what I did say was nothing talk? Get involved in this lady's life I don't know she doesn't need be tapping around the shoulder and telling her about does not but it's annoying. That would have been really fun though. So if you just gone up and being excuse me I don't think you should prescribed a cleaning gender binary now must stay and then just like and then like the little bells you know the the meditation Gong goes off and then you just evaporate. That bowl sounds off bowl. That could've been my interruption. Maybe it could have Donald Binary that yeah. I must not do that because I feel. It's going to be steeply culturally insensitive. I don't think we should throw that right. I'm a feminist but the last time I I was on the guilty feminist podcast I tweeted about it. I put it on instagram. I shared it on facebook and my mother called me and said congratulations nations. I've listened to the PODCAST. It's very good. You're very funny. Deborah's a lovely person. I just need you to know that you spelled feminists wrong in every single one of your posts. Oh every single. Oh No I cry ball. TURNS ZACK turns out. YOU DON'T SPELL FEMINISTS DEMAND S. I think you put a man into feminist. Yeah stop it right now. It's very on brand for me. I can't spell it the best time I remember in the second grade we were allowed to pick five words to be on our own spelling tests. That were special to us that we needed to learn how to spell so I had to put my name on spelling second grade. I was like nine and I still was like no the nine in the second grade. I think so are nine and six. Are you six. I think I'm nine and everything when in doubt I'm always like when I was nine number you would not nine. I'm a feminist but if I had to give up feminism or yoga for one week it'd depend where my head was Some weeks I really need yoga. I get it. I'm the same way I mean it's only a week. I wouldn't actively anti-feminist but if I had to rest all NAMA state I get it. I am a feminist but whenever I wear a crop top onstage to show my stomach and a fellow curvy woman comes up to me after the show and touches me lightly on the Elbow Elbow and goes I love your body positively. I WANNA puncher. That is the exact same thing as a guy coming up to me. Going your your tits. Look good in that top. It is not to be discussed. It is only to be enjoyed in silence. Yeah I agree because on the live tour I had this this big green sequent Cape and one night. I happened to be walking posted on summers and they had the same green sequence in full please swimsuit saw so. I thought pretty funny if I had that on them with trousers over the tall swimsuit was like a body suit type thing green sequence and I thought it was funny and kind of cabaret but look good and then afterwards one of the other acts message me and said I just want to say that my friend was in the audience tonight and you really inspired her to buy a swimsuit because she didn't WanNa buy some soup for holidays and you're such an inspiration to she. Thought if Debra can do it also the swimsuit so let me a fucking swimsuit inspiration. Yeah I want people look at me and think I can't do that. Why was it no look at the swimsuit go? I would never be able to pull it off. Don't find inspiration in my no. I wanted to have it. What does that mean? Yeah I've been able to let it go. I've not been able to let it go. I'm feminist bus. I saw a cat dressed two two two so that it looks like it had arms coming out of it cites it was like a front only situation like a babe but it looks at the front like the cat is wearing wearing a pink Tutu with point shoes and my first thought was. Where can I get one of those for toast? It's not a feminist outfit. Not Not that balance isn't feminist but to address your cat in. I guess well we have to question the agency of the cat at this point. Yeah does does the CAT WANNA be in sequence toast would no. I'm a feminist but I think top gear in the grand tour. Where are the best television? I've ever seen I genuinely think Jeremy Clarkson and may make the best. Tell you Joe Kendo thank you thank you. I thought I would be a really alone in that like so much okay. I'm a feminist. But if someone was like would you you like to sit down and Rewatch fleabag or the grand tour. GRANDPA I love it. Yeah Yeah Oh no no no no no no no no. I'm not saying it's hotter. I'm not better. I'm not saying it's better than flashback. Because they are completely different things but I am saying as far as entertainment easily consumable television grant towards like Doritos. Just can't get enough from the customer spontaneity shop. That's the best. It Guest Co host Avocados special guest. This is the guilty feminist. The podcast in which we explore on noble goals was twenty-first-century feminists hypocrisies and insecurities which undermine them. I'm I'm Deborah Francis. Mike with me is Gosh. Amman on we're talking about lemonade lemonade. When life she lemons make lemonade? Yup the beyond say album of the same name and I think think that applies to women a lot applies to feminists allot. I was thinking about brexit being such a thing if life she lemons we might have to make celebrity and then I thought who am I. Kidding is if we're going to have access to fresh citrus. We're not GONNA have any. I read something today where they Sainsbury said that. There's going to be like like gaps on the shelves. They're just not gonna be able to get stuff in the brexit well. I was just thinking when it comes to Brexit when life gives you limit your like yeah we have lemons. Yes turned turn. It can't wait when life gives you lemons at least you won't have scurvy is very much the brexit no deal slogan hope. Boris puts it on a bus US going to campaign to say. Hey We got through the blitz. That's basically what is going to be. But I always think because people do say we got through the blitz bursting but we didn't vote for the blitz and if we had accidentally voted for the blades we would have had a second referendum and said. Aw please so I'm saying blitz. I think that should be the new BREXIT HASHTAG DOC is Hashtag nope blitz absolutely so my story in terms of Lemons and lemonade. I remember because you told me about will iams delorean way way before the dolores. Laura was called called it. The delores i am which is way better day of using for it and then he went on top gear and jeremy clarkson kissed hissed his ass for like fifteen minutes when he said he was going to start a car company in the hood and have underprivileged kids build cars. Where's the car company. Mr i am. How i i can't imagine for some of earthquake funds without going through the wycliffe different law will i am like i actually saw that car at west coast customs customs yeah and it's amazing how much quality work went into making that car is ugly. "Like, I don't think that that has to be the case like you can feel differently like I feel differently now when I see him on screen is like all I know, you'll know good person. But like does that now mean that I can never enjoy Kevin Spacey movie ever again like I don't think that it has to be that. Maybe there is like a waiting period where you have to calm down a little bit or whatever it is. But I think just because somebody is not necessarily great doesn't mean you can't enjoy a piece of attainment. That is my feeling. I am sure. That now I will be cool pro like some people. But that is kind of the point that I'm making I I agree with you, actually, I, and that's the thing is that I am able to separate Jeremy Clarkson, the human who seems pretty unequivocally to be a big jerk from Jeremy. Clarkson, the person who appears on the grand tour, and I guess what I'm what I was entering toward earlier in hearing you say that kind of crystallized to for me is that I'm seeing more of Jeremy Clarkson, the jerk within the grand tour where I never used to before. And that's what I think you were saying earlier as well. And I think I'm seeing and it's actually true all three of them you. I'd love him less. But you still enjoy the content. He produces most. I think is fine. I think it's fine. Yeah. And so I think because I'm seeing more and more about how unfunny the three of them can be and how they think they're being like risque in a funny way. But it's just them being old men that are not in touch with what we think is acceptable today. It's it's been harder to watch the grand tour it, but at the same time it has flashes of of that old magic. And so it's what that's what keeps me coming back is the does still have the splashes the old magic. But so much of it is just like guys guys come. Come on. We don't we don't need to say that or we we don't need to do that. We let's move on. Yeah. It's like you can judge differently and stuff like that. But I just feel that like I don't necessarily think that now if somebody does something bad to you now you can now never comp- participate all view anything that they have a make because ultimately. So that, you know, are quite this too was very similar to me is the idea of if you knew health food was made you would eat nothing. It's true. Actually, I think of these two things is quite similar like Oran. Like, if you if you decided that you want to buy something because of such such companies practices, which is perfectly fine for you to make that decision. But then it's the same thing as you probably have about anything Sarabhai, people everywhere. Agree jelly asks when the two of you see each other of the being upon the soft music play. Yes. Jared asks would you rather fight one human sized or thirty regular size stocks? I figured we had to end this old human episode on this like classic. This is like a classic one of the classic Reddit questions because there's also the horse and duck version with Dr Jared Zoff specifically a human sized because what is it one duck sized wholesale thirty whole size, ducks is typical one. But child is us one human sized authority regular size ducks. I feel like the human sized doc would be the easier foe because you have one thing to concentrate on a stink about this. What's the human size because of his human height? That is a big animal if it's human sized, but doc proportions that thing is huge. Yeah. Maybe you're convincing me. It's thirty. It's a lot. Like, it was ten. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. I'll take the ten regular size stocks thirty regular ducks..

"An eighty year old Jeremy Clarkson doing that so much sometimes I they they repeat a lot the specials the top gear specials on here. And sometimes you you you pick them up, and it makes you realize how old they are. Because you know, they looked so much younger. I mean, he's fifty eight now I mean, he is he's kind of getting on a bit that you'll jewelry the real worries that one day they will do something receive sells. Well, what of them did last year? Has has history of crushing crushing cars. There was some good jokes about it on the new episode. He he he had much more serious crash a few years before that your member. I do and you know that very nearly did kill him. But so yeah, you you all right. But they'll have to they'll have to cope with that. I guess as they don't get me wrong are watching anything they put out there. But and they all worked better together than separately. Because I've watched specialist from each one of them on their own, and they're just they fall flat because they need each other on the need all three of them to really really work. It just it's just the way it is. Yeah. So my next show. Your next one is. Oh, my next show is how is Yep. So this is. Again. There was a lot of similar talk shows throughout to choose house. My favorite, you know. So we'll festival the medical dramas effectively house is my favorite just because it was so quirky and the main character was so well vade. With house was an eye. Lighthouse Julian I used to watch house together, but he was such an address well to me that was what was so good about it. I know, but you wanna kind of root for the main character and towards the end of the series. She just couldn't root for the guy anymore. He was so self destructive. He was so callous about anybody else. He knew he was most brilliant guy in the room. He the way he just kind of self destructed was just painful to watch. Yep. I well, I enjoyed it. What can I say? Willingly active. Oh, yeah. I think it does come down slightly different sensibilities. Maybe, but yeah, I I think all of they cut in the medical dramas for me house was always the most entertaining because you know, what I was gonna do. One hundred percent agree of all the medical procedural type shows. This was by far the best. Yeah. Number nine is south park. Another one. I'm really took off that I did not put on my list south. They've they've been doing it so long, but I say us watching it right at the beginning. And it was so fresh and neom they were doing things nobody was doing on TV. And that you know, you kinda feel oh they've really pushed it this way. They'll back off next week was worse next week was was and I couldn't believe they could get away with some stuff. They did. It was amazing. I one of my favorite memories of all time actually is going to see the movie big a longer on uncuffed. And that first ten minutes when they have the Terrance of Philip song. I have never been in a movie theater that's full of people who are all virtually they most of us could not breathe we will often so hard. You know, and the not. A lot people's critics say well, it's just crew humor. And you you you. Crucially. Always funny. Yes. But it always had some kind of a bigger, meaning I'll absolutely always has typically to use the crew tumor if you just look at it as creek human, you don't get it..

"What I like about you what you say here with with John Oliver is that they go into depth on one subject. Yeah. Using language that Jon Stewart can never have used. No, he didn't have these goofy segments that were hitting mess. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And yeah journal, he's just his delivery is on spot. So so, yeah, this very much my favorite next one. I'm sure it's one that you would agree. With is a great show is the IT crowd. Well, maybe maybe Guinness a cultural type thing because it has no. I get British abilities. I mean, I've been dealing with you Brits for we're going to fifteen years. No, I get it. There was nothing that I didn't get about the show. But you gotta remember when this came I actually was in IT. So it hit a little bit too close to home for me. Like, I didn't need to watch this show on something. I lived on a daily basis and some of those goofy or stuff still spot on. Yeah. This is the. Certainly true. That a lot of people waking tell you our little bit weird. Yeah. We'll often isolate themselves in part the building that's like their little Demane. Yeah. Don't like outsiders have very weird personal habits. And and hope he's in that sort of thing. And yet, fundamentally they'll still, you know, you get to know them there Capel. And and yet the the thing about the credit is just hilarious funny. Absolutely hilariously funny. So yeah, always enjoyed that one. My next one is futurama. I think. Very underrated show. I I know it has its critics. And I just I b maybe it's because you know, I love sci-fi, and I love I love technology, and all that sort of thing. I think futurama does more interesting things because of its it's more referential maybe than the Simpsons is and perhaps a little bit less constrained by its former than the Simpsons is. So I've always enjoyed futurama more even though I think it's been less consistent maybe than Simpson's. And obviously hasn't hasn't lived for as long, but, you know, future on I've always found to be very very funny. And I was watching it. And sometimes I watch the Simpsons I don't really enjoy it. Because it just feels like it's retreading the same old ground wears feature on always felt like he was doing something different. Every show. I will go through and both those points. Yeah. Next one these top gear, which mine. Yeah. And I just just watched the first episode the new service the grandeur yesterday. And you know, what those guys have still got it. We don't know everything in the grandchil- works as well. As in top gear and top gear kind of really had a heyday when it was absolutely the selfish game. And it did start to go off towards the end. But when they were on it, they were absolutely on it. I feel like they're treading water right now to watch the last episode of. Wow, grandeur pencil. It was good. But I don't know. I just feel like I've seen this before. I think it probably is. I the difficulty I suspect they have is that they they signed up to do effectively top gear to with Amazon, and they want to deliver that because that's what I was in pay for an expected once they get there's been talk of them changing the format. Now they've finished the third season because they had three four season. There's no there's no audience. It's just them out on the road. And that's what people. I think you know, I I suspect they probably finger little bit hamstrung by the full they impose on themselves. And I think I think it will improve when they can get away from that. So my my issue and it really kinda hit home with this new season getting old. Yeah. I almost feel like they're getting too old to be doing these hygiene things anymore. You know, when when German book, Jeremy Clarkson, wasn't a spring chicken at the height of top gear either. But when he's in a mobile home, that's way too tall and the wind catches at almost tips over and he starts going. Driving on the highway that of whole Larry..

"Funny from your perspective and at worst even insulting and enraging you don't watch that you watch something else and i want to know what it is now here's what i watch i watch old run episodes of top gear the old bbc series that was on for like seventeen years with the originals with jeremy clarkson and james may and richard hammond now i know they've got their new amazon show that's on streaming which is grand tour but they've only got two seasons and i've watched those couple of times through so we're going back now on amazon prime meredith an iron we're watching all the old shows this is a bbc show it's centered around cars and the automotive world but it's really just a incredibly funny comedic and by the way kind of politically incorrect right of center kind of humor jeremy clarkson is absolutely a tori i'm sure he is and they rail against climate change as they rail against you know prius is all the time and all of the horrible british politicians it is a a uk it's a bbc show so they rail against british politicians who come up with terrible laws that infringe on their enjoyment of driving in automotive and all that stuff and that's that love that i love that they get into the news and it's all you know i'm watching old reruns but that's how i meant in my day i see i think there's a market for that i'm i always assumed that there's a whole lot of people out there just like me who would love to watch something funny and maybe even politically driven but isn't your typical i mean why would all of these networks have the basically the exact same show on every network they're all other than samantha b it's all some white dude okay trevor no is not a white dude but he south african so he's not african american he's african just just fyi but they all stand up there they all give their monologue it's all the same jokes about all the same topics i mean for god's sake half of them her name jimmy it's all the same show i can't believe that the entire market for late night television audiences is derived of an audience that only wants to watch the same show eight times across six different networks typically at six thirty pm a how about nick and falls church nick you're wma oh hey larry great point about tim allen i do think there is a market out there for conservatives but we all know that holly hollywood doesn't want to go there but my mind but you know what nick the beauty is you don't have to worry about hollywood any more than we we can create direct demand video content that that doesn't need the hollywood gatekeepers we just need to be convinced this movie's coming out right now they got that you know these these these people that you know we're not don't like that message that's right they circumvent the biggest weakness yeah my i sort of cut you off there my creator point was this that i think that it's indeed it's found out that i mean there must be conservatives watching these shows kimmel and all of these i haven't watched it stuff in years i'd be honest with johnny carson and a little bit of leno and everything but soon as they go liberal i turn it off because i don't wanna get my blood pressure up but here's the thing though they probably have a market share of conservatives because here's the thing and i hate to say this but people are lemmings they will just do what everybody else does okay and there's just so many of these people in the world and i see them like like every day of my life so it would not surprise me there's a lot of conservatives watching claptrap yeah maybe i'd love to hear from them if they are thank you i appreciate it i.

"His own driving because that was an impossible shot for a tv show host to fuck and get i remember that is the grip easiest road are seen in new tires on z are one and the thing makes a ton of grip and they're like just you know every time like bigger bigger bigger bigger and i remember that shot it was an epic shot and i went dish no fucking way and then i saw you in ely nevada after you did it because you're at running silver state rob peretti and i saw you and whoever the producer guy was and all the cars from that and i was like now the sausage is made yeah about sausage with you but yeah i mean just because my love for dick's is do love the cock say that that's the cv stunned driving's a fun gig though you get enjoyment out of that or is it i do yeah yeah it's another level i mean you you you have to consider where the camera is what the camera can see what the personality of the driver supposed to be unless it's jeremy clarkson you wear the mask no i didn't have they didn't have those then but the so there's like with movies it's great because you get to act with the car kind of act in person so with driving those way easier than you do the fucking didn't you do decays hands shooting while driving i thought i don't have you telling me that one yeah that was a you had to go sixty miles an hour backwards so you did a one eighty and nosed up with samuel who is in the orange car and decay gray card this is tokyo drift fast and furious and going sixty miles an hour backwards which z will do by the way it's of really realize that that really yeah for real fast for sixty fucking.

"I mean like really high speed have you done that before yeah what for commercial for shows commercials and you're hauling and there's you know it's you don't even notice the class before two point before jesus drifting you do thanks i don't think i don't think i'd have the stones for it i've seen people do it i don't the big the big curve where the big concrete turnout in many times yeah yeah that one if the transitions and are the things one curve you know that's one thing i saw you drift the fucking snake that's that's challenging that's awesome yeah although in hindsight what that would being the speeds are lower that might with that easier the landfills crystal yang well angel's crest if you're doing it for a show or something are you you're most likely in a stock car is so that is that more much more difficult than you know it's most like right now it's like six hundred horsepower like an e sixty three s or something like that versus eight with a handbrake it's is the spread is getting bigger now between doing like a shoot in a purpose built car and a stock car because hand brakes exist anymore yeah fracture controls are all kinds of crazy yes off my not mean off sometimes if you have if you have abs even we have a car without abs you've got a bail out at least you got a safety net like you you hit the full lock on the steering you're rotating around at least you're going to lock them up when you know your momentum is going down the road lock them up and let it slide to a stop but now that you have abs there's no bailout so if you hit full lock on the steering it's an shit moment for sure and you might just you're on a ride yeah yeah you might arc it off into the inside which i almost put a car off doing stunt driving for the british top gear when those guys came over is like a red corvette z are one in nevada right yeah so i was doing this year one driving that was what i learned jeremy clarkson didn't do.

"No no my the focus rs are but they put a different set of coil overs on jeremy clarkson's c l k that was softer than stock and it went like a second and a half faster around the track just because it's more planted yeah it was more compliant the track isn't perfect and so i did a keough winter driving at thing it's crested butte how is that it was awesome it was the singer on snow it was rocking it was real press launch and the wave it was two waves the way before me tommy kendall was there so i miss tommy kendall which would have been cool but i got some insight from him through the pr person at kia the fastest way through their auto cross course because it was competition it was timed was to put the suspension basically in soft yeah and throttle relax it a little bit so you're not slide as much you can do whatever you want with the handling and all that stuff and i had the second fastest time out of like twelve pm some some kids to nice guy from edmonds was like a a few tenths faster only three of us went under a minute everybody else is like spitting off yeah you need to have suspension travel right it's got you you know and so actually i went to he gold and i was talking to macro from fifteen fifty to about maybe doing a set of eighteens for the focus since i've got nineteen now right and like it's way better than it was like could farther i wanna go even softer so i think the next move is the downsides to eighteens and upsides the sidewall i think that's a great idea so we might do we might make it do a little ken block and seen kind of thing or we might try something new yeah i'm not really sure nice but i i might leave it to those boys to figure out something awesome they're doing thing with mount tune okay fifteen fifty two they just moved into the building next door to mount tunes oh which is extremely convenient that is convenient yeah you could do something rally inspired focused yeah i'm thinking rally car okay cool.

"Asked holiday season we would be seen model 3s unbelievable truly via it's almost as unbelievable ya as considering that the x top gear host jeremy clarkson mike utter a positive word about tesla or electric cars about oh man f feels like it might be more unbelievable could be more of unbelievable but i did see with my own eyes and and i'm not here to you know promote though the if inc is called the great show great show great show that's the new version of top gear which still exist but just not with clarkson and the other two in ride alongside they actually raced a rim mac which is that croatian super car we side at the e grand prix two years ago this thing looked spectacular and it's just packed with batteries and motors and it's a million dollars and god i think over a thousand horse power and at the time it would have blown anything away well they put it on the first episode of the second season of um the grand tour the grand tour and it just performed spectacularly and made them all just sort of stop and recognize that electric vehicles are the future there are some you know limitations if you race this thing you're not going to be able to drive it is far as you could the lamborghini that clarkson drove and it has to plug in in a very limited number of places you can't fill it up everywhere and they sure you know pushed vat agenda all watt but as far as performance goes they were speechless and it's a cool episode suddenly kinda nasty happens at the end i encourage you to watch hold does not yet it i'm not going to spoil the call good for you no spoiler alert.

"Jeremy clarkson who is a presenter on a show cold it's a car show called top gear for many years he was a presenter and he's also writer and a columnist and a general broadcaster and he's renowned for being a bit anti pc and a bit of a of a risk with his producers am i this purpose fearless a couple of years ago he was fired from his job at top gear with the bbc because i think he's a some sort of violent altercation anyway uh have a little quotation here from him where he says i remember being called in to see danny cohen i think this was his the head of the bbc his department i trudged all the way over the broadcasting took to the broadcasting house and he said i understand you have a new dog and you have called it did year dull qaba it is racist i said it is not racist we are all chelsea fans in the family and he said please tell me the dog is not black and i said it's a scottish terrier should i have called it john terrier so the football player mentioned is a black football player and and the dog is a black dog so his producers sees this as racist the defenses that they are chelsea fans and his neighbor's dog a football player so it's a tricky one because how you still have to think about it to take offence and should you take offence is it offensive perhaps it is perhaps it is and how much fence do you take the dog is black the human is black and of course the humans not black if humanism brown right the dog is actually black so even there stood the colors nor the same.
