"You by new extra refresher gum. Give extra get extra so this is my man. Mike ferry u._f._c. fighter who apparently got his nose broken. I'm not a doctor. I can look at this and say it looks like a picasso kosovo painting dutiful ways. <hes> got fifty thousand dollars for that. I think he had to undergo surgery that took about an hour and he's out of commission for six months fifty thousand dollars others for that all right i quote he can run as he continues to gain command of the offense. He's going to be an interesting guy to watch john about nathan peterman going nine of twelve for sixty six yards and the raiders fourteen to three win over the rams terms and the team's preseason opener meena did the peterman in his ability to impress you. You did the game. I lived there. I was on the call for this. I i tried to pay homage to bomani. I said there goes that peterman because really really did go. I was surprised by the run. I was not surprised by him playing pretty well because he steered in the preseason. He had one hundred twenty four point seven passer rating. That's why the bills named him. The starter and we know gruden has loved him since college tallied so none of this surprise i mean i think you agree that. The fifty yard surprised because running backs don't often get fifty yards that was incredible and impressive of the peterman. I'm happy to be be the first person on this air this program to give love to the peterman because they don't love them so much. But what do you think that group wants. More than gruden wants to have their car succeed or peterman succeed if you're like oh man because he will be redeemed himself because he wanna guys and say peterman was good out of college and he's statistically the worst quarterback in n._f._l. History so i'm sure group wants him to to ball out right. He wants to be the next rich gannon. I mean it's a little bit more extreme than that because nathan peterman is statistically this point one of the worst quarterbacks n._f._l. History but gruden would love to resuscitate his reputation and have him be his guy. No question peterman go peterman the ron high noon peterman please one because gibara young of the athletic tweet stuck why leonard jeremy castleberry has been hired as one of the clippers assistant coaches great number guys castleberry was a teammate of leonard since high school and has since followed is powell from san antonio toronto and now to los angeles dominique. Is this a good idea. First of all you mock the number because i'm the one who chose that number because i wanna talk about this story yes. I think it's a good idea. I think the league whenever you are instant c._b._a. Negotiations negotiations you have all these intended consequences of <hes> any sort of initiative that you put in there are going to be unintended consequences. I bring that up because i think this is potentially elite one of the unintended consequences of having max salaries because these guys have a tremendous amount of power in value and if you put maximum their salary they're gonna find other ways wasted exercise. It and i think getting guy hired is not a bad way. Exide is particularly when the guy's qualified so i like what kawhi has done here and i like what the clippers have done here to show some respect to to a guy that they can't pay nearly as much they wanted to. They wanted to have this control. Go and pay him what he really deserves i and as you point out he could very well be qualified. It sounds like he is right. Yes i am sure his relationship with quiet has flaked. Let's not be stupid. That's played a role in him getting these jobs but apparently san antonio wanted to keep him and he went to toronto because he got the promotion and we shouldn't make the mistake of only talking about him through this lens of their relationship for so long people did with rich paul rich paul yes <hes> lupis relationship with lebron played. A big part is career but he is also a very good agent and we shouldn't forget that well the cliche..

"Trade but only people who can really tell you in their heart of hearts will go why would have done this why maybe is almost may maybe maybe his friend jeremy castleberry 'cause i'm sure they were talking about it all the time but the the i think the question with sam presi in oklahoma city in sort what they had their their gambit here okay they didn't have to trade him and his time but that will take you risk of creating a super team in la with the lakers but it would also something where they felt like they had is he collaborated with the clippers end with the raptors because making this trade in some ways of making a trade for quite leonard right it wasn't just trade furball georgia's a trade for paul george to get co i leonard and let's say let's say why is like you know what i wanna be with the clippers we could do this trade from paul two months from now and maybe we won't give up much maybe this month joining will be stronger so paul they could've waited if why would have taken that leave much like lebron year before i lebron said it was the same kind of gambit the lakers had the play with lebron you know the year before and he ended up coming on his own and he stayed all by himself without that second star for a whole year but what what what happens then is that the the trade demand stands pulled in and out of fall make the public or not or his age and make the public but either way you have and unhappy superstar there there with two years left on his deal and you can't exactly we put the cap back on that all right i mean we've seen what happens when a superstar either after a trade or make it public ricketts reporting.

"Okay. So the one seed in the east and Mark that down for one of our crossfire next week on the start on the preview shows, what's the better drought. Yeah, I think he's become more of a story off the court then on the court. And I don't think that sits well with quiet Leonard. And it was only a couple years ago where he was third in the voting literally the third best player in the world, and he's going to get back to that. He's already left money on the table by being traded from the San Antonio Spurs literally about thirty million dollars and make that up in the Canadian exchange, right. Yeah, he'll he's already bought in Toronto. Bad news leave the dollar soaring. Now, thanks use. Ma ask. Call it what it is, but the then the voters like surprise and I think people have already forgotten about Kobe Leonard to some degree. He is fifth in MVP odds. He was six thirty in the summer, but he's come down according to our friends from Bleacher report. It's LeBron Anthony Davis, Yanni's, James harden, and then coli. And I think he can get back to that. I think he's in a good good spot. Along with his buddy Jeremy castleberry that the wraps brought along. He's got his coach, a guy he played with in high school and San Diego State. I think he's in a good spot to do it because it's a fifty nine one team and getting to the wraps winning the one-seat as fifty nine win team last year. And it's easy to look at this team is a team that LeBron killed and then they're, they're done. They're extinct. No pun intended after Paul, George the Pacers or like the hawks, you know, in years past the hawks won sixty games. You could just look at this team and say there, but I don't think they're done. I think this is a new version of this team because co is replaced demars? Not the same old team. So I think they should be in a good spot. They've got a really easy schedule according to the schedule masters, it's going to be them or the Celtics, but I, I don't see why they should drive drop back. It's not. It's not a season where they, you know, I think they feel like we lost our chance last year and it's over. I think they should feel rejuvenated. So I think those are going to go hand in hand. The rep is better. There's an idea in the summer and they want fifty nine games. Mean pedal was a good player as well, but obviously getting Danny green and co, Atlanta. I mean on paper, the rep is a better than they will. I'm coach knickknacks. He's got a question Mark. Yes, sure. Show you have to put away put to the side, the sentimental value of what D'amoto Rosen meant to that franchise and look and say, yes, I would think this time as compared to what the raptors had loss is better year A older. year older. All those young guys Dhillon right? Vanfleet PASCAL. Ceac emoji and OBI. These aren't just dudes. I think they are going to have a future in the NBA, their legitimate players. They've got a bunch of skill sets and you can see them preseason already. They've added to their games. I'm a little worried about Danny green. He doesn't look so good in his thirty. He's, he's, he's a little dribble happy. I don't know if he's trying to expand his game here in Toronto, but it doesn't get yelled at every time he dribbles now. Right. Like when they put up just like the shot of their starting line-up, Danny green and OG Anna, nobody like those guys can guard pretty much anybody between the three of them, especially in the Eastern Conference. It's it's kind of unfortunate. I feel for the raptors that they didn't have a LeBron defender for the longest time. And now they have three guys who could probably do it. He's out of here and. Yeah. Mean team? Yeah, that's right. And that's where I mean, I think a lot of people forget in the playoffs that's sort of where they fell apart the defense. I mean, they, this was a good defensive team and a good offensive team last season. And the offense is usually what gets all the attention, like raptors of struggle, especially, you know, Lowery Andro nearest pass, struggling shooting the ball and scoring, but it was really the defense sort of fell apart in the playoffs last year..

"I read one report that he lasted three minutes in a pick up game, and then he said he was hurt or something. I don't know if you go do that really. If I, if I don't know who they are, but they said it may hold it Neil. So here's what's happening in Toronto. Toronto is pulling out every stop to try to convince Hawaii Leonard to stay in Toronto. They have signed Jeremy castleberry or signing away from the Spurs who was a former Spurs assistant who grew up with Kawhi played high school and also college basketball with quiet Leonard. And obviously they insisted in the trade that Danny green would be thrown in because he was Kalis best friend on the Spurs. So now we see messiah, Jerry the GM there who's known to be very player friendly. Although it didn't in very well with demar Rosen, but they were very close. That's why demar was so hurt thought they were so tight. And then suddenly he felt like he got duped at the end. He didn't get told the truth about what was happening about only get you get mad is corrupt, but Masai has a reputation for being able to bond with players. So he thinks which is why he spent a pretty serious commodity. He gave up tomorrow Rosen for quite Leonard that he thinks he can keep him and they're going to try to convince collide that he the north, not we, the north, that he the north and he should stay up there in Toronto. So I ask you, what's he have left? And I, I don't even know why he has lane so long. How do you know that? Because I don't know what he is anymore. I think he went completely over the edge and he's going to beat you. Wanna talk about rusty and you wanna talk about new pressure that he's never experienced. He thinks he had pressure and San Antonio, wait until this like the world is going to be waiting and watching to see what's the new coli like in Toronto, and I don't know, is it possible that he won't quite be the old Choa have no question. In my mind, really Okawara keep talking about rookie. What's the? I grew up in the rule south outside. We have what we call the speaking. You know, sometimes you turn it on and Brown water will come out, but we let it run a little. While in the water just as period prayed, good old days water. Why get a couple of games up when his Bill? Really? Yeah, he'll be right back twenty six points probably about three or four. This model about five, six rebounds that y'all go missing San Antonio. I think we're gonna be pretty good without him because we were pretty good without him last year. Nine game tomorrow. We one forty, seven tomorrow. Rose gala equal equal, but that was the old coli. And you're talking about the new Koi. Oh, the Newquay sort of went over the edge is over all of his affairs, and I think y'all treat him right crumbled psychologically. And I just don't know if he's ever going to quite get it back. Go get them a, yeah, cut them braids up. Why? Why go be new? Wouldn't it be funny if if Toronto after year decided we really don't love him. They. That was never happened now knows a first of all. They maxed out the margin, Rosen, gonna max this kid out gonna do everything just like you guys wanted two hundred and twenty million or gotta had a fire injury that you said he might not was ever offered to my knowledge. I don't know anything about that. So in other words, in other words, you telling me if while say you know what coat, you know you're right held situation wrong. I apologize. I'm ready. I'm willing to come back. They're gonna say, no, what they would say that what you're telling me right now, I don't know. You know, I know when Gregg Popovich came all the way to San Diego to sit and look him in the eye. It wasn't that that that Gregg Popovich needed to find out what was he needed to hear it from Colli that I'm with you guys..

"They hired that dude, whose is like his best friend broadening castleberry. Right? They just brought, you know where they gonna hire Jeremy castleberry without Kawhi. Leonard odds are low, probably not. Yeah. And so you do stuff like that. So you create something that you know is going to make him feel comfortable, and then you just you watch and you don't press and you don't push, you know, make him feel like I'm under examination. You guys try. You try to manipulate me. So I said over time, you kind of figure out what he likes, Isaac, Bruce same way, took him three years to speak to anybody and for meal had him pegged wrong. He thought he was the wrong type of guy to have on our football team. No, no, this is the right type of guy. He is the wrong type of guy because he didn't speak. Okay. He never said a word wouldn't talk to anybody would even talk to the head. Coach wouldn't even show up to the head coach's house when he invited you over for dinner. He used to have the groups over receivers, alignment, Isaac didn't show up. That's just not who he is. Well, he's not a team guy. No, he is a team guy. He just doesn't speak to you. Yeah, he doesn't trust you yet when he feels comfortable enough to speak, he will and sure enough. He did. He wound up being one of our best players. You just have to give those guys space. Yeah. And you figure you're probably communicating with uncle dentists. You're probably trying to figure out what he wants or what he's telling you Koiwa wants. It's it's a really unique situation and a tough one, but certainly worth the risk. Like we were saying that if this hits there, he could be the most popular non hockey player in that dry. And if it doesn't, you just tear it down anyway. I the the dentist thing is what's really fascinating about the whole thing because when you start doing with guys like that, then it adds that Dwight factor to it. And I'm not saying that coli is Dwight because I don't think almost definite almost definitional Koike. Champi as insecure as Dwight Howard because no-one is insecure. And so how can that guy be insecure? I don't know what he is. And so when Dwight was in Orlando, it was one of these things where, oh, he was. I gotta go, I gotta go, Brooklyn. I got to be in a bigger market and he had these people whispering to him and tell him you can't be Dwight Howard international superstar in Orlando. You gotta go somewhere bigger better. Well, and Dwight really want that or was he just convinced that that's what he wanted an Dwight's case is the best thing that ever happened to him to stay in Orlando. You don't know what you were all you will in? Exactly. So you've said you've asked this question Travis. Is this what Kawai wants? Is this what the people around? I'm sure there are people around Kawhi who want him to be an LA because they want to be an ele-. Yeah, and they there's a benefit for them for being in l. a. that doesn't happen if he's in Toronto or San Antonio, but is that what kuwa-? It's all it's. L. a mystery. I mean, we thought we had him kind of figured out. We thought that he was the right guy in the right city with the right coach, the right organization, everything seemed, but then you find out that he's put off by the fact that Jordan brand doesn't offer him the sort of money that other players are getting a guy like Russell Westbrook. You find out that he's put off by the Spurs culture on a certain level, whether it's through injuries or his teammates, kind of putting them on blast or whatever it was that didn't really go a certain way. And I just don't think anybody knows. Dr Lee filled in the blanks forum. We, we assumed that he was a San Antonio guy because he didn't talk. And that's what San Antonio guys do..

"Caller number seven, eight, seven, seven, seven, ten ESPN. And if you don't win this time, we will be given out some more tickets later on in the program as well. So you're a scary movie guy, the Marco? Yes, the the true American horror story. I'm watching this on that flex and forgive me if you've already seen it. It's a Ben Affleck movie company companyman that is a true American horror story. It's about guys losing their jobs. About a guy with a knife Yes, about about something. something. That's a good move. Yeah, it's met. I'm almost through it because I have a three year old. So I have to break movies up that movies. Dean is, yeah, it's him giving him the plot. He's the guy that loses well, can we say that was that he's, he's the guy that loses his job through a Bank or he's that loses gig having to work for his brother-in-law who happens to be Kevin Costner, oh, hangs drywall. So it's this whole transition from CEO to hanging drywall moving. That's a great movie. A lot of guys, high executives who they're like thirty years right? When they will losing their jobs, they were getting laid off too. I was wondering, didn't they save any money over thirty years because they were working in high positions. It probably making millions of dollars and they had nice homes. What did they do it all the savings they will let off you think they would have a nest egg put away. What's his name is another actor. He's, I think it's, I can't remember his name. He's he's a famous guy, you'd know him, but he says he has two kids. One at Brown, he's got a mortgage, just all the stuff that I talk about. Single day. Well, it's look. I'm not making millions of dollars. I make a nice living, but I've got a son going to college. I've got a mortgage all the stuff. I'm not saving a ton of money. I wish I was saving more. It's just, I mean, and it's not millions, but it goes fast. Watch the companyman straighten. Yeah, keep me up at night that I don't need to worry about a guy with a knife, find the door, Alaska movie actually. What's actually wanted to watch because I'm not into skiing. I don't like being scared. I don't like I don't like demonic stuff. I like stuff about the devil and evil side just not into that stuff. The last Gary move. I watched the exorcist who This one. one I came on nineteen eighties. For real, but I'm not. Damian, but I'm not that stuff scares me. I don't wanna do that. No Demarco's version of a scary. Movies. Scarier. Yeah. Losing your job. That's Gary Michael. So Leonard is in Toronto was not in Toronto. He's a member of the Toronto Raptors actually out here working out at UCLA pictures the other day, the raptors hired Jeremy castleberry who is a friend of his going all the way back to San Diego State. He was on the staff at in San Antonio as well. And this is one of the things that the new recruitment of the star you're gonna wanna make sure that when he's in Toronto, he has everything. He needs his, the people that he's comfortable having around and they're gonna do what Oklahoma City. At least they're gonna try to do what Oklahoma City with Paul, George, and that is, hey, maybe I didn't want to be here from the jump, but by the time we got into the season, I'm pretty comfortable here..

Well, for me, as a matter of fact, give me your cell phone. I need to see how you saw the tweet. I need to check. Georgia loca was signed to a one year deal by the Vikings, which is why we are having our poll question today is to who's the best. Team in the NFC. How do things stand right now? Chris, you can come off suspension for for for for that information? Yes. So we're looking at the best teams they have see the NFC is absolutely stat. I don't think there's any. Don't try and Bogart the time of my news. This is house up. One of the results of the results game in the NFC Philadelphia Eagles Doug Peterson on Friday show thirty two percent right now Rams at twenty four percent Vikings might pick twenty three percent. Okay. The giants are practicing saquon Barkley today. That's horrible. I'm back working back from his hamstring injury, the jets and giants play each other Landon. Collins told reporters there that the giants defense plans to play three quarters of action. The jets say they're offensive. Starters are going to play the first half and it looks like Sam darnold. It's gonna be that guy. In this new people, you quarters. That's a lot. I wonder if Brady update that's the update in the NFL by the way that was the worst suspension that you've. I mean, you're like Jose Urania right there, and we're working throughout your entire appeal process that was terrible. All right. What else? What else have you back? No more taking scoop b.'s tweets and reading it off as if it is fact, groupies blocked, scoop blocked. I don't think I saw this last night. This picture on social media last night was making the rounds, and you're like, oh, cool. It's a bunch of guys after the worked out and played basketball. Okay. Then you took a closer examination of who's in the photo and it's broad James, Leonard, Kevin Durant, another dude on the Cavs and a bunch of other guys clearly worked out here at UCLA and you like are, what does this mean? I wonder what so I wonder what the raptors are thinking as they hire Jeremy castleberry Kawais buddy from the Spurs staff to come on up. Have they had a press conference in Toronto yet introduced Colli Leonard, sounds like haven't heard him speak. So coli is playing pickup with LeBron and erase Angeles here in Los hanging in Los Angeles. She's not. He's not in Toronto yet. They've gotta be freaking out odds, odds of turning into this year's version of Paul. George, it's not full blue, tar ski, but it's it's, it's damn near close to that. He ends up having a great year joys the experience days without a over joining LeBron Los Angeles. I mean, you can't sit here and say it's full bluestar sqi zero point zero is it is it is the Michael Jordan chance of the ninety. Nine point, nine percent. It's point one percent that he returns Toronto, maybe. You don't have the drop. I keep saying fifty million times now I don't have. What are you doing over there? Are you thinking about how your fridge didn't arrive at took eight hours for your fridge to arrive. You put all your phrases on a white board point zero. And the other thing that went crazy about this picture, if you wanna put it back up, Leonard is holding a full size. Basketball can't see the basketball. I know his hands are so enormous. He's covering the whole. He's got a handprint on his on his shorts that are not appear to. Is that all all? That's right. That's right. It's it's the k. w.. Right, and also a year ago today, guys, monster trade, went down the NBA Cavs Celtics. Obviously the big kyri Thomas trade went down one year ago today. I think it's safe to say the Celtics, one that trade did they so far all they got was just a two seat out of it. From which they were able to almost make the play the the final two players. Okay. All right. There. You got a..

See him in a Redskins jersey wearing the number twenty six of, course Twenty-eight belong to hall of Famer Darryl green that, number, is not going to anybody but, really he, was kind of just. One of the guys, a, guy who. Was bigger and just taller than the other backs and a. Guy who has more than twelve thousand rushing yards but he went flight for example but we are watching them he was going forth. In the, running back drills during some drills he's getting coached just like everybody? Else, by running backs coach Randy Jordan in a pass protection drill Peterson lunged a little bit so Jordan remind. Them hey don't overextend it was just like any other practice with any. Other guy it just happened to be. Adrian Peterson so much is up in the air with this running back has a core for the Redskins. I mean how much John, you expect Peterson to contribute to. This team long-term well they, made it clear. When they sign him that he was coming here to compete For the starting job, and they, cut us that it's going to be a, two week tryout essentially to see. What he has left and then today the way the way Jay Gruden gushed about, Peterson's workout, saying in of the forty minute. Workout that. He could have gone to hours that, he didn't even break a sweat and then you hear linebacker, Mason foster who played who played against some five years ago say he looked like the Adrian Peterson of old and practice the. Way he was hitting the holes, and then you start to. Believe that maybe they do think that this guy can come in, and not just compete for the starting job but actually, win, it but I'll stress and they, would stress, they still need to. See this over the, next, couple of. Weeks before they really commit to that sort of role long-term. Two week try out and tell it looked after day number one sportscenter allnight ESPN radio NBA teams were jockeying for position this summer. To try, and look appealing to coli Leonard raptors wanna make their newly acquired? All, star forward feel at home and in a move that may or may not help Raptors are set to add, a familiar face, from the past to the coaching staff ESPN's in Begley. Reporting that they're hiring Jeremy. Castleberry to the coaching staff he's occurrence for with the Spurs he's worked with. "And so whoever gets good, I is going to have a little bit of an inside track right there. The good news is is I think that the Rams are going to be better. I, we'll Rams a lot cooler though, and you know the names like outside of Philip rivers, Melvin Gordon with the chargers, many key and Ellen, but this kind of force in it. You know what I mean? Like with the Rams I, you know the players. Now, you know their names like they're, they're a national story today. McVeigh says, oh, our players will play in the preseason. Oh, everybody's on fire like everybody's excited. Woo rather play chargers. There's a another injury update today. I think Casey, Hayward? Yeah, lame string at a Hampshire. Like what is up with? I mean, would we lost? We've lost Barrett. Say we would they? Yeah, they've lost. I'm just thinking we'd like football people. We have lost. There's another one that went down. One hundred Henry Henry hunter, Henry is gone season. Two for Rhett is is not for the guy that you just mentioned a blanket on his Hayward. Casey Hazel pro Pro Bowl last year. You'll only guy that goes out there over and over and over again is both is an rivers. Yeah. Yeah, it was in both. They they're, I mean, can they? Is it a training thing? Is it just bad luck? Because they, if it's bad luck and they'd have like an extra system or something, I think it I think might it might be. be just a little bit of bad luck and you try to unseat it. You'd leave San Diego and hopes of getting better luck, and then you come to Los Angeles and that that that that that bad luck follows you and you have to live with it and they got to move on. But until they win this going to be considered that way I was, I lived in San Diego, you know, I went to school there. I saw in San Diego, loved the chargers. They didn't. They, they loved them religiously. I showed up. Yeah, yeah. But when you macro Tony's to win and you don't do it and you don't capture it suffers man. When you asked the locals to pay for a stadium when you can pay for it yourself, say no good for them just had a call from towards a good idea. I thought he said, why can't the clippers move to Vegas somebody's going to? Yeah, somebody's gonna jump on that bandwagon. Somebody's going to. Yep, and I don't know. Maybe it'd be expansion team maybe bring in to you, do Vegas and you do Seattle at the same time. I don't know, but Vegas is going to get a team. Yeah, they're gonna have all the teams. Well, because with the. NFL going there and a couple of years with the success of the hockey franchise, the nights, they already got the WNBA there Acis you've already shown that you can handle the art. The market can handle a big time professional sports team and also gives us a cool venue to go check out. Yeah, you know, team Mobile's fun. I know you've been spot trust me. I've been down there these conference championship games. That's right. That's right. All right. You told me this about a week ago and it's just starting to trickle out now, but some of them might mean why Leonard stays in Toronto. We'll get into that next. Kirk had an inside angle on it. We'll do it. Next afternoons. ESPN LA kurkin Travis afternoons. ESPN LA and Kirk, you said this about a week or so ago we were talking to the the raptors not only went and guide Koi Leonard, but they were going to go and hire one guys, a guy by the name of juror Jeremy castleberry. Who view known gome before his time with the Spurs? Yeah, San Diego State alums? Yeah. So counsel. Was on a team that's state. He was team manager slash players manager, but him in Kawai were go back to high school and it tight. Like when I say titan, they very tight and co, I got drafted. He took a small level entry level position with the Spurs and worked his way up to a point where he was sitting on a bench. Uh-huh. Last year behind, you know, right behind no coach Popovich and everything that was going on..

"This one is live on the ESPN app. So you can watch no matter where you are. Look at it Rana raptors are hiring San Antonio, Spurs staffer and close friend of Leonard Jeremy castleberry to their coaching staff. He's worked with Leonard dispersed. Average played with Leonard in high school and San Diego State where he was a walk on hiring Hawaii's buddy. I mean, that's good move right. If you wanna do yourself to the guy you wanna keep beyond this year. I think that's a pretty good move. Listen, we feel about it though. I mean, I think everyone wants to know how you feel about it. First of all, and after the break-up I don't talk about once they you want no part of this. I will. I will root for the China raptors to lose every single game next season. So other than that, I feel completely about it. One of the things that happened while you were gone was the clippers who in the running for him next year fired Bruce Bowen who had been there there the analyst on their local games because of comments. He made not even on the air, but in a radio interview that were comparatively mild in criticism of, so it just goes to show you when you've got someone like him who whatever the personal feelings aside is a brilliant talent. One of these difference making players, people will do anything literally anything they're going to hire them bad, Milton. Mealy bad look for the clippers because he didn't say anything that was out of turn. I don't think he said anything that was inflammatory or didn't make sure, Kim, personally, Trish core? No, he didn't. And if that's the reason for firing someone, I mean, look, I didn't want Bruce doing that job in first place. So I think he's better off now that he doesn't have to, but it's a, it's a, it's a desperate move by desperate team that's not going to get in the end anyway. You don't think so. I don't think so. While we're not talking about your action. Do you. We'll stay in Toronto because this is what this is about right? Bringing in the Benz, right? This is all about trying to recruit him to stay there long term, otherwise, trading way Dhamar Droz and we'll wind up looking like a terrible move regardless of the financials. I know there are some people that say they want to get out from under his contract anyway. But do you think that this is the sort of thing that is going to work? Is he going to stay there? No, I don't think this is something that would make this guy is obviously mobile. He will probably go with him to wherever the next. Really matter. Castleberry goes no offense so, but I think to keep him happy, at least for the time being it's a wonderful move. Can we do the the land Stevenson story because I really want I, I wanna hear this sound. Yeah, told me about and I haven't heard it yet. So that moment. Remember this moment two thousand fourteen Eastern Conference finals. The moment we will never forget the two of them are obviously teammates. Now in the Lakers team, Lance was asked about what was going through his head during this moment. Curious. Trying to get him back. China win a game trying to get on my unfocused. I would try anything. For you to do some this in my Dale respond, keep continuing and playing hard. And what how do I get in how. I was just trying to find, so I'll regret it, but. Why do I made me? But. Brown was such a good play. You know. I would do anything to get frustrated. It's going to be different. Just trying to be friends being friends on me. Tremendous only to be fun to watch by the way just for the sake of argument looking back at something and wondering why you did that is sort of regretting it, but that's just the mandates, and I don't want to argue about it but their teammates..

"Do is spent last night watching below deck Mediterranean on Bravo, and I'm not. I'm not, you know, at least when I watched the real estate shows like I can claim that there's like some level of connection to my life, and I helped to understand business a little bit more fully below deck Mediterranean. I mean, there's it's dishes. No, redeeming quality for me on that other than just absolute escapism in voyeurism voyeurism though is the real county where I think people get messed up is that you start peaking in and comparison shopping your life. He says, he's going to do anything for your sake. When we're just like walking around bed bath and beyond shopping for zone, nobody puts their actual land on Facebook. You only put the best cleanest most without it. Yeah, it's it's. What would help though is if you taken some reality show treatment to Leonard and the letter that he wrote to the Spurs. I think that would have helped because what happens is now, we're so used to people having like understanding the artificial constructs of dramatic writing and dramatic story construction that when something comes across is incredibly lame and simplistic like scoff at it, like even sincere things, people people scoff at, don't we sincere maybe that's really how he feels we want high drama at all. Yeah, but there's been a lot of high drama with Kawhi Leonard in the Spurs leading up to now being Toronto raptor and it has made me question at times Ramona whether or not he is actually the guy that the Lakers should be pursuing this off season. I mean, like what are the odds that the, you know, the lack of happiness that he found the dissatisfaction that he found, I think, from the Spurs standpoint, out of where that's not going to have them with. Lakers. Yeah, I think what's I think what's hard with co, I is simply no matter what he doesn't. Real people really know him. Like I feel like there is a guy in there. There's a person in there. A few people he's close to, I think would say that they feel like they know him, but I don't know if any of those exists with the Spurs. I mean, there's one guy and he was Jeremy. Castleberry is known him since college who the Spurs hired is innocent coach who was kind of like their window into co. I because he's like known him forever. But even that like that's not that's just somebody who works out with him all the time. I don't know who's friends are. We don't fish, not like he doesn't leave very footprint dissect. So therefore you have to deal with the people around him, uncle dentists, Mitch, Frankel, etc. Who are representing him and the people representing him, they talk to the Spurs. They definitely. But are they representing themselves representing qua-? That's the key question. I mean, because from the outside looking in and you know the story better than I do because you wrote terrific piece for the dot com couple months ago, but this is so much like what was going on with Dwight Howard like six years ago, on his way out of Orlando where Dwight was pushing his way out, but seem to have no idea why he so badly wanted to leave the magic jar, then New Jersey Nets. But there were people around him who absolutely knew why they wanted to leave. And I just I don't get a sense that Kawai really knows what he wants from his career move. So I, I have a little my my understanding why that he should guy. Who wants play basketball, and he works really hard and he cares about the game and he doesn't really want to deal with anything else. And the people around him have sort of been tasked with dealing with the everything else. I'd hear stories like, you know, quite why doesn't quite endorsement deals. He had endorsement deals presented to him, but he never really wanted to do it. But like the one, the couple things he wanted to do was like a wing place in San Antonio because he just like reaching their. Yeah, wingstop. He just like eating there. So he was like, yeah, I'll do the wingstop ad. He flipped out about when his contract extended. I guess he had some deal with these word about losing the coupons. Yeah, like these are the things that he cares about right? Like he drove around in a beat up old car forever because just doesn't care..

"Colli wants out and then our c. spoke on it with the media of x. amount of days later, remember exactly at address. It was at the draft that would that was legitimate and honest from the heart that wasn't were trying to get leverage by saying we want to repair the relationship. I mean, obviously, that's that's a, that's a nice side effect of saying something like that, but that was real right up. Until I don't know when they finally decided it's all over, but they at that moment they thought we, this is this is not irreparable from our perspective. Right, right. That's exactly what they thought. They thought that we go to, you know, and you know, acting, remember talking to people and until you know, pop is at his best when things are at their worst. And so they had a lot of faith that I was going to be able to be the guy to turn the whole situation and it just didn't happen. And you know, like I said, it's unfortunate, you know, I just, I'm sorry. I was saying that I just thought of something else go. There's one thing that we don't talk about, like none of us have ever talked about it, but you do realize it was best friend is still on the Spurs coaching staff, right. I don't. Yes. Jeremy castleberry like I would love to do a story on the guy because you know he was sort of in the middle of all this. You know, co is its best friend. They play ball together in high school and college. You know, I guess I got him on the Spurs coaching staff, their best friends or whatever. And so you know that every day when he's out there practicing working out guys to asking, hey, what's up with you boy, you know? And like just to see the way that kid handled that whole situation. Like I, I really hope sincerely hope it one day. He's a guy that does another sort of elevated himself to one of those. You know those top assistant position, something like that because he handled that whole situation like a pro. And you know, it's funny because the Spurs, you know, they knew the type of relationship they had the Spurs would not. They wanna put Jeremy castleberry through all that. So they wouldn't say, hey, can. You talk to co-authors, try to get into local white, anything like that. They didn't want to put him through that because they didn't feel like it was fair to him. And the kid came out every day and had all this boozy Azam Costa hell out of the players. And you know, I like I actually check and before I came onto this podcast, I was like, hey, I just wanna know is Jeremy similar staff? They really, yeah, he's still on Sam. Okay, cool. I want to know before I complimented the guy, but yeah, he's he, he would be a fascinating story, I think. Yeah, the Spurs. I mean, maybe Kawais relationship got him in a foot in the door, but the Spurs don't hire people for for reasons. Other than you're, you're going to be a good coach. We think you're going to be a good coach. And so you know, he would be it would be snarky to sort of joke, like, I wonder how long he's going to be with the Spurs. But if this I think he's good, he's going to be with disperse, and they love him. Yeah, they wouldn't have hired him if they didn't think it was good. I don't know him at all that now that I'm googling him, I recognize Schick shook hands with him a couple times when I don't know him. But if he's a spur, that means that means they think is good. He's good. You know, one of one you had you wrote when Colli finally got traded, you released a piece about the Spurs sort of entering uncharted waters for them of of Unser franchise uncertainty. Which I assume could have been written anytime months, but but. You had a tidbit in there that I don't think I'd seen before, which was the Spurs at least some higher ups within the Spurs wanted co wide to let the team rule him out for the season, and he would not let them do it. They just for the sake of clarity. Now that's fascinating. When wet was, is that all swirling around this March period, where things start to break down is that does that desire from those higher ups? Is that January disease even predate March, like when is that happening?.
