"In this hand, Jeremy Austin, who plays all the games, amazingly well, he plays great poker. But in this hand, we're gonna battle with it. Let's see how I go about playing the big stack in position. In this interesting spot. Yeah, what place does he do? Don't worry, I'm not a threat. You got first and you got like this or something? That is correct. Sure on top of the U.S. poker open standings. Adding that factor in. Yeah, I get to spike all them ace three inspires. Two tents are Jeremy Austin. 130. Queen Jack of clubs for our chip leader. A beautiful spot to on the button. He can proceed in various ways. Alexa flat. Sure with the king 9 offsuit. Something of a slippery spot for Shannon. Yeah, we've got king 9, but you have to be suspect going three ways. You're never even thrilled when it comes king high. In this episode of weekly poker hand, we see Jeremy osmos raising it up with pocket tens, which is perfectly fine in standard. And notice that I am the big stack by a mile. I have 4.2 million chips playing 30,060 thousand and everyone else has between 1 million chips and 1.9 million trips and that person with 1.9 million is Jeremy. Awesome. So when he raises and I'm on the button, I have a lot of options. This is a scenario where as the big stack, I get to play a much wider range than if there were no pad implications at all. Because Jeremy really, really, really does not want to go broke before the other players at the table given he is pretty solidly in second place out of 6. So, in this scenario, I think I have two options with the queen Jack of clubs. I can call, which is what I did. I think queen Jack loves is a perfectly reasonable hand to call, or I can just rip it all in because if I rip it all in, Jeremy has to call off really, really tightly, and even when he does call, I'm gonna have okay equity with Queen Jack of clubs. That's that. I think Jeremy is probably gonna be opening pretty tight to begin with. He's very aware of ICM. He's probably aware that I know what I'm doing. So this is a spot where I think he's gonna be really tight to begin with. So for that reason, I opted to call. It is worth noting Shannon shore folded the king 9 offsuit in the big blind. And some may say, wow, isn't that really tight? But the answer is no. In this scenario, Shannon is third in chips, right? And he really, really, really does not want to go work before the shorter snacks as well. And there's actually some chance that I bust Jeremy in this hand. And if I bust Jeremy in this hand, that's obviously really good for Shannon. He wants to void spots where he's going to be put in a bluff catching scenario. And it turns out he ends like king 9 offsuit, usually flop, top pair bad kicker, or middle pair, bad kicker. And that is not where you want to be. So I really like Shannon's preflop fold. All right, let's head to the flop. They trim it down like the mobile phone. We could see he would have been in a great spot post flop. It's basically dollar for dollar, except lightbulbs. But we have seen that more and more over the last couple of years players tidying up from the big blind and multi way pots. It was probably worth like two to 25. Something like that. I feel like they should do it also on the fields and auspice deciding what is optimal. Out of position against the chip leader with a couple of tens and is going to try yeah, I'm not sure exactly that. 65. Pump it up. Out of position two tens, one 65 representing a great deal of strength. Little does have that back door equity. It's not going to go down without a fight. This king high board. I think as a spot where Jeremy wants to check a ton because my preflop calling range is going to have a whole lot of pseudo connected Tai pans, hands with a king, et cetera and very importantly, when I do have backdoor draws like my hand, I'm gonna get to call any sort of small bet. Now, I don't hate Jeremy small bet, but I think he probably just wants to check and call and I realize that leads to a lot of pretty dicey scenarios. But when he bets, if he gets raised, it's miserably bad right there. And if I call, it's also not particularly great. And I'm going to call a small bat a ton in this scenario way more than minimum defense frequency. Again, because I'm the big sack and I get to apply a lot of turn and river pressure. So facing the small better thing, calling is the only viable option. I think my hand has really good equity. I don't really want to raise. I wouldn't mind raising a substantially worse hand or a draw that I could reasonably get it in with. But I think this hand plays very well by calling. I know a lot of people look at the spot and think, oh, just fold. You don't have anything. You have Queen high. But no, no, no, no. When you're the big stack, you get to splash around a lot. I'm right corner of your screen for spades on the turn, the tens for awesome is still best. Jeremy not thrilled with Jonathan little's decision to continue. However, I also believe that he would expect little to come along for the ride on a variety of flops no matter what his holding is. Various floats, here's a pot control sort of check. Opens up the door for little. Just Queen high. Yeah. Little does bet here. You can bet he's also going to need to bet the river to tell a believable story. Does fire 350,000 a little less than half pot? We're going to start a bad bat 7 5 gets there. Certainly Jonathan can have a hand like 7 5 suited. And he's able to just put Jeremy in a really brutal spot with two tens. You are guessing on the river no matter what. Folds the tens and little gets it done with just Queen high. The turn comes to four, and Jeremy checks, and when he checks, I need to bet very frequently using a size that will allow me to jam all in on the river when I feel inclined. Now, I don't think this queen Jack is the best hand to bluff in the scenario because I block some hands that will perhaps check call the turn and then check fold the river mainly queens and jacks. I'd much rather have a hand like ACE2 of clubs because H two clubs has an over card to a king when he does check a king. And I do think Jeremy will check this turn a ton of the time, kind of like I think you should check the flop a ton of the time. So this is a situation where when he does check, I am going to get crushed when he does random way of a king, right? But, you know, I suppose I do block king queen and king Jack, which our hands that are auto check calls. So maybe it's not the worst hand of bluff. Also, if he doesn't have a hand like pocket.

"How about you, Robbie? So we all see the big names, the high rollers, the big events, that sort of stuff, as you mentioned, how mute it's always going to make headlines that grown and Friedman those sort of things. There was one sort of on the recreational side that really caught my eye. Kudos to her. Amanda bought feld. She's an author of a girl's guide to poker. She and her dad, her dad who taught her how to play together entered the tag team event and they just had kind of this charmed run. They went all the way to the third place. And it was really cool. My dad taught me how to play poker. I should have, you know, just a story that resonates with someone. You're kind of following along with the poke and whose live reporting, and especially I know Amanda, she's written for cardboard lifestyle before. It's just really cool to kind of see in root for them to make a deep rub. That was really special. And something else just going back to the big names, any time oil Brunson makes an appearance at the World Series just absolutely. And he didn't just pop in, you know, say, hello, just played in multiple events. He was kind and charming a gentleman to everyone who wanted a picture or asked for an autograph. So that's always just super cool when Doyle comes back. It's just the crowds block tool. If you had to make bets, who was going to show up at the 2021 World Series and it was Phil ivy and Doyle Brunson you're not winning that one. I mean it's unbelievable, right? I mean, that's not what you expect. And that's kind of what happened. So some really good stories obviously from the World Series, like you said, a lot of two time bracelet winners, a lot of them, we talk about Michael domo, Jeremy, awesome. Player of the year Josh RA Scott ball, Anthony Zeno, Martin's amani, he won two online..

"Yes, the attendance was down, like you said, about 20, 30%. But that's primarily because you're European players couldn't come over. Unless they were the real committed ones who spent two weeks prior to kind of get into the country through Mexico or Canada or whatever it was. Thank God Cory Alden did that where I did that or else we wouldn't have a new champ. But I think that the only the difference, as I said, plain wise, I don't think it really felt much of a difference. First of all, whether you had 90 tables or a 110 tables, how are you going to feel the difference? But I think the difference that you felt was the outside events, right? I knew of years where people literally made their summer living playing sitting goes. And the sitting goes were just packed every single day. The lines after line after line. And I remember going by one time and there were three of them going. And I was like, wow. Satellites were canceled, unfortunately. Cash games were going. I think that if there was one thing that was still there, cash games were still going. Daily tournaments, which we have seen in the thousands, which we have seen first prizes of 20 $30,000, those were down as well. So I think that the events themselves, which, of course, is really the center of the World Series. They went off very well. I think the extraneous stuff, not so much. And understandably, like, if you're going to go to the World Series and be a spectator or play cash or play these dailies, why are you going to go this year? This isn't the year to do it, right? All of us we're trying to win a bracelet. We're going to go. You give us a vaccine mandate. We're going. So I think that, like you said, a success. Absolutely success. And I like your statement. I think it might have been better than they expected, because it could have been what some people feared was just going to blow up and it did so. Good to the World Series. Great that we had a successful 2021. And of course, 2022 is right around the corner. There were a lot of stories. Let's talk about the main event. Obviously, that was a lot of stories in and of itself. Especially with all the coverage, but there were a lot of stories at the World Series. And let me kick it off by I think that it's the number one story. It was the guy who lives, breeze, WSOP, has said that he wants to win 24 bracelets that he will win 24 braces. This is a quote from him, not me. He picked up his 16th this year. He set a record for the most final tables with 7. He finished runner up in player of the year for unfortunately the fourth time. And, you know, he had his controversies, you know, he filled being Phil, but the poker brat is alive and well. Phil helmet an incredible run at the beginning, taking over player of the year. Had a little bit of a run at the end and finished runner up in the big pot limit overhaul to Jeremy awesomes who won his second bracelet. Daniel finishing third and Daniel and Phil finishing two three ultimately to Josh Ari incredible what Phil helmes did. Congratulations to him picking up his 16th bracelet. And I will say guys I'm going to take another one here, sorry..

"Last week with a four time WSOP bracelet winner and also won twice this year alone Anthony Zeno. It really wasn't incredible year in 2021 WSOP because Anthony Zeno was the first person to win two bracelets during this series, which continues a trend that dates all the way back to 2000 where at least one person has won multiple WSOP bracelets in the same calendar year. This year, however, set the record for the most of multiple winners. Those include 2021 WSOP player of the year, Josh Arya, who will be our guest to kick off 2022. Jeremy awesome is, of course, was on our show. Scott ball, Michael adamo, Kevin Gerhard. And at the WSOP Europe, which is going on right now, Julianne martini won two bracelets over there. He won the €2500 short deck and then shortly thereafter the €2000 8 game mix. The main event is going on right now. We'll get you all the results next week. There were also some other players who won bracelets online and live, so technically they won two bracelets during 2021 as well. Next week and the following week we'll talk about the person who won the most coveted bracelets of the entire WSOP. And of course, throughout the entire year, the 2021 WSOP main event champion will be our guest not only next week, but also the following week to close out 2021. Who better to have than the main event champion himself, cry aldera will be our guest talking about his career, the main event to the final table, the heads up battle with George Holmes and of course that epic final hand. Cry Al demir will be our guest next week and the following to close out 2021 here on the Bernard Lee poker show. But this week, we are going to wrap up the 2021 WSOP with a kind of review of the entire series and of course the main event as well with two of our guests that are very common here when we do these wrap ups, Robbie strategic came from card player lifestyle dot com and Chad Holloway from poker news. We'll have those two gentlemen on with myself as we wrap up the 2021.

"So I don't have time change, and I would I would have got in trouble. And I'm spreading across the field and Jason Grimsley and Roberto Hernandez are down the bullpen. They're laughing so hard. I looked behind me into legitimate smoke trail behind unisex pieces. They terrible trail. I mean, I'm sitting on the in the bullpen. I looked down and it's such as pouring out of my face and everywhere. Blue fleet. Uh, no. I come into the game and I'm sitting there and I'm coming set and I looked down and it it's just all my colleagues. It's like white powder, and every time I made a pitch and hit the problem was I had so much on their sweat. Didn't even suck any of it up. Because there's so much like shit you made you over you over, baby powdered you over powdered. And it was just peaks and deep thinking as I'm taking, and Brent Mayne is back there catching me as she's facemask bouncing up and down because he's laughing so hard trying to pitch in game. My family's there. Just terrible like it was. Like, Yeah, uh, bad one. Jeremy Affeldt out there, chalking up the mound. Oh, my God. Terrible. Oh, before you for lead to run. I wanted to ask you about Logan Web and he's just been an incredible run. And he he's the guy. I mean, Gossman was the guy earlier, but I don't think there's any doubt now that Logan website guy on this team When you give him the ball, you expect states have not seven. Really solid innings from him. What have you seen from him? This year that maybe you haven't seen in the past. Manages mountain presence. You know, when he first came up he had, you know. Yeah, well, think the slider. Yes. Uh, um, Pitch selection location, maybe video. You know the zone. He's not pitching with really a lot of confidence, which is normal right for a young kids he didn't really know. What he was going to bring the table. They had pretty good stuff. But, you know, I just didn't know if he had a mentally and you don't know when they first come up Most of the time. Most people are like a Bumgarner. Right? So you don't know. And man, this kid This year. I mean he's amount present different, confident. I'm going to make a pitch and get you out. I'm not going to show any fear. I make a big pitches in big situations. Pitching like an ace. He's throwing breaking balls by the count. Get back an account with them. Giving you innings, so he's making good pitches. Getting guys swing early to give you some some deep games and pitching with the veteran presence. I mean, It's hard to replicate. It's hard to stay in the big leagues. But this kid, you know when he next year coming into the season, he needs to just look back or whatever he is thinking about focusing on or however he You know, prepares for his start. He needs to make sure he's paying attention to that. And you do that every year because when he goes out 13 very prepared confident, um, wants to be out there, you know, just challenging hitters with his with his pitches, and I mean, he's just a fun fun, got to watch pitch and he was kind of guys that Um, might be a little bit of a diamond in the rough a little bit kind of came up on a whim. Kind of. We'll give you a little bit of a look. And now all of a sudden Is is a stub for 91 win team, and that's a good feeling to have, And that's the kind of guy you want to run in the playoffs with no doubt about it Friday night Lights tonight. No. That was Wednesday when it's usually on Tuesdays for his his school. Uh, Tuesday football last game and, Yeah, he was He didn't win. He had a good game. They've been fumbling and turn the ball over in the 20 yard line, like four times in the last two games. Some he's frustrated his fault. Just like But it just happened, but he's playing so good out there. Uh, he put a gun in his back. Pretty good The other day. I was like, that's good. I like he's he thought he The mess up a couple plays, but he kind of took it hard. But I'm like man, actually, under still focusing on the kid you put on his back and try to get by and forearm shivered in, you know, uh, I'm more proud of that one. Anything so he's doing good school football in Texas? Jeremy and he's more. He's probably got a bigger ripped than you have now. More people probably know him now. The No. You Well, he's an eighth grade. He's not quite there yet. He will be, uh, yeah. Yeah, but But next year yet we have two high schools in our town of ones like I didn't have 6805, a Big schools, right? I mean, it's nuts here. I mean, it is absolutely crazy, but I'm looking forward to seeing the high school situation. I mean, Yeah, he's they've got some teams in Houston. I think 70,000 or $70 Million facilities that these one high school in Houston and Dallas like Lily 70 million Sky boxes, You can buy season tickets like you gotta be kidding me. Yeah, It's no joke here. That stadium and Katie, I think is the one you referred to in Houston in the war and Dallas north of Dallas. Allen. Yeah. I mean, you know tens of millions of dollars these high school stadium, so yeah, you're about to get into the thick of it, My man. Good luck. No. Oh, no. I never played it five. No idea. I'm like, man. You know, like I'm like I'm just kind of it's good. My son like that I never played, so I don't really know anything. So I can't really over coach him. I can just be like, man. You look good. I'm asking people. You know what he's supposed to be doing or not doing them watches, footwork and stuff like that. But, um, he's been a fun He's been a joy to watch and been exciting. That's awesome, man. Well, have a good weekend. Always fun catching up with you and we'll do it again next week, Jeremy. Awesome. Alright, guys, Jeremy. Absolutely.
