Accused of Mistreating Employees of Color, The Wing CEO Audrey Gelman Resigns

"Audrey Gilman envisioned the women's co working space. She founded as a women's Utopia. In Two thousand sixteen. Then twenty twenty-eight-year-old Gilman partnered with another something friend. Lauren Cassen to found the wing, its mission to be feminist, safe workspace in which women surrounded by other ambitious women would feel empowered to succeed and unbothered by the Patriarchy among other issues. The wing vocally supported pay equity. The company rose on the back of the METOO movement. It attracted members who loved the idea of a progressive women. I space high profile speakers included. Included Hillary Clinton and actress Jennifer Lawrence Tennis Star Serena. Williams is an investor. Members pay up to three thousand dollars a year for access to the CO working spaces, and all that comes with them from breastfeeding rooms to hair, care products, luxurious spaces, and a magazine called no-man's-land the new. York Times reports prior to the pandemic. It had twelve thousand members paying at least twenty one hundred dollars a year, according to the Wall Street Journal. In the four years since its founding the glamorous Gilman of former publicist became a star of business publication, celebrating the supposed success of the instagram worthy chain before covid nineteen hit, the wing had raised almost one hundred twenty million dollars in venture, capital funding and expanded to eleven locations, but underneath it's polished suspicious. There was deep trouble at the wing, rampant accusations by black and brown workers, persistent racial discrimination and abusive behavior by Executives, senior staff and club members that's according to reports in the New York. Times the Wall Street Journal and the Feminist Publication Jessie Belle. Earlier this month. Gilman resigned the same day. Managers at the Wings New, York headquarters staged a virtual walkout protesting labor conditions in solidarity with employees of color, most of whom cleaned served bus tables, and did other manual labor, in addition, a separate group of those former employees, most of them black and brown formed. "Today. We're joined by Eric on their of house. Party to talk about all things. Celebrity homes higher. Hey how's it going pretty good Office considered yeah. Thank you thank you. So we're talking a lot about people being stuck in their homes. Thanks to corona virus. If you could restock in any celebrity home where would you be? Well I mean right now the one. That's top of mind. Is the the home that Jeff Bezos just bought in Beverly Hills the hundred and sixty five million dollar warner state? Because I don't think you would ever have to leave And this place comes with a nine hole golf course. I don't know if you guys are aware that so even if you wanted to go outside you could get in a game of golf right privately. Exactly you don't have to get into to force them with anybody else. You can just be on your own golfing nine holes worth of golf. The Lauren Sanchez had a golf. I'm not sure I am. I don't know if she accompanies him on his outings on the golf course. I don't even know if they've moved in yet but This place the Warner Estate. That they bought David. Geffen is bonkers in terms of size and scope and had David Geffen Done work on the place had had he his own updates correct. Yeah he had he bought it. I believe as the early nineties for around forty million and Then just turned around and sold it just a couple months ago to. Bazo for ninety five million he had made upgrades over the years but The home was old Hollywood. All the way was built for one of the Warner Brothers. So it didn't. It's not that it needed a ton of work. But I think what Geffen did was update in just the right way. Yeah and this is not a Jeff. Bezos rate has has a few different places. I guess that he can hide out right. He's been on kind of a A real estate buying spree particularly since his relationship with Lauren. Sanchez came to light right. That's putting it mildly. Yeah he Bought a penthouse in New York City. I believe like a three floor penthouse for ninety five million dollars and then prior to his relationship with Lauren Sanchez and it was maybe a year or two after he bought the Washington Post. He bought a enormous. I WANNA say it was around thirty million dollar mansion in Washington. Dc So he has a place also in DC where he can be close to the newspaper and be close to the political elite as well and that's also in addition to the place that he owns near Amazon's headquarters in Washington state up near Seattle. And besides Jeff bezos buying up these properties because I know the The La Property. You mentioned I think was that the biggest sale in the history of Los Angeles. Yeah. La County for Short. Set an alley. County record is are these kinds of properties Besides Jeff Bezos. Being able to buy them. I mean are they still. Do they have enough people to attract the main? What are some of the trends going on that? You're seeing and kind of these like the absolute top of the market Record-breaking properties are there. Are there still enough buyers out there? I guess now with the economy going wait is maybe not but Yeah it it depends. I mean right now there is. I think there's a bit of a glut in terms of what what are called SPEC homes or the SPEC mansions that were built throughout the L. A. Area. Where the the grand kind of envision if you can those those kind of sleek modern white boxes that have kind of sprung up throughout L. A. County throughout Beverly Hills Bel Air? Those I think have been a lot of those have sat on the market for a while but There was one hundred and fifty million dollar purchase of Chartwell last December. And that was that was Lachlan Murdoch bought that place and then there was a sale of over one hundred. Twenty five million in Malibu last year as well so there are buyers out there but as you can imagine the buying pool of people that can spend over one. Hundred million dollars is extremely small It's the one percent that we hear so much about when they buy something they may not want to buy something that's already been built. They want something customized and specialized to their personal tastes. I do think it's fascinating. How many homes change hands through celebrities and this week? We saw photos of Haley. Bieber checking out Madonna. A home that was once owned by Madonna. A thirty-three million dollar home in Beverly Hills Right. Yeah we've written about Justin Bieber so many times and we talked about them a lot even on our podcast he has gone through. I believe I WANNA say around five or six different places in southern California always renting before committing to a purchase last year and the place. He bought it. Wasn't it wasn't what you'd expect. I guess from a a young celebrity was kind of just a a basic mansion. If you can call a mansion basic basic I know I know it's it's so it's so wrong but He had rented a place in twenty fourteen. That we still talk about. You know it had been dubbed. The Salad Spinner home. It's kind of reminiscent of. I don't know if you guys saw the home that ferrall put on the market last week that It's it has that Community College Office Park Survive and that was a home that Justin Bieber had lived in and that seemed to suit him. That's what you'd expect from a young celebrity right. Why are celebrities drawn to homes? That look like college campuses. That's about. That's a great question. We've kind of discussed that on our own podcast. The House Party It it is that I think there were in the nineties. There were these homes that were built and maybe even into the early two thousands. That were these kind of window. Sleek I guess at the time structures and that they really haven't aged well Now like I said. The trend is more towards these modern white. Boxy homes that have a great indoor outdoor flow. The kind of just go from the inside to the outside and you have these great views of the city down below the windows open. You know. It's there these fleetwood doors. They're called or windows. That just opened the entire home up to the outdoors and is it hard to figure out who the celebrities are. Who have bought these things as I know in New York? I mean when when we write about celebrities are altruistic people buying properties a lot of them are bought under sort of LLC's and Shell companies and corporations so is a difficult to try to figure out like which celebrity bought which crop ready. It's a very difficult. Yes Sir thank you for summarizing my life. Yeah how do you put it together? Is it a combination of property records and then you need like your source is is is. It sometimes just must be really hard to crack. Yeah it's a combination of Google searching property records searching all of the above and trying to discern who is behind analysis. And that's not something you know. I know you guys say you see it definitely in New York and I see it too. It's a problem in the bay area where I am You know a very rich folks buying homes behind. Llc's it's also problem in Miami. When I say problem I mean again. These these are relative terms but It yeah it can't be tough to discern who is behind a trust or an LLC so it does take a lot of kind of legwork to to try and track these things down so eric. I've got to ask you as the Authority on celebrity homes. What are some of the wildest additions you've seen you know I've heard like streisand? Had A shopping mall in her home. So and so has a bowling alley right. What's something that's really kind of blown your mind? Well I mean definitely top of mind comes the fifty cent mansion. I you guys are probably well aware. The fifty cent mansion that was on the market for over a decade and it was originally. Mike. Tyson's home. That place had a nightclub in it and it had a casino in it and at one point in time it had stripper poles in it. So that that places you know it's it's out in Farmington Connecticut out in the middle of nowhere but It was a mansion that was on the market. I think fifty cents put it up for. I'm sorry he put it up for eighteen point five million in two thousand seven it eventually sold last year vinyl price. Two point nine million so I had to come down. I guess. A lot of people out in Farmington Connecticut are not looking for triple stripper poles. Yeah no it's not a popular feature. I don't think in any part of the country. I may be an Vegas Maybe Vegas but yeah another one too is is shock home in or near. Orlando where he broke into the NBA. Back in the kind of the mid nineties. He bought a home in a city called windermere which is kind of a luxury development. Outside Orlando this is outfitted with a grill of a diesel truck. Casses nickname one point. In time was he was known as the diesel. So it's outfitted in one room with the grill of a diesel truck. It also has a cigar bar which I guess if you like smoking cigars and then the piece of resistance is the thirty foot wide bed in the master bedroom and I mean I just take a minute to think about how big a thirty foot wide bed is wow so and it right now at least in the staging photo listing photos. It had a big huge. Superman emblem kind of on the Bedspread wow it's hard to get sheets for that. Yes custom-fitted I mean. As many of these celebrity homes are everything's custom. You know you you want these custom features as you mentioned. Barbra streisand's basement yet. I mean these custom features are kind of de rigueur for celebrities. It makes a race car bed..

Diversity at the Oscars: The 2020 Race Isn’t Looking Any Better Than Last Time

"I feel like hell for the law and Michael to Michael for lying and get contraction I saw this French film of course later on so I was very excellent and might just make it to be honest it would not Maxis the prices for me you know at the very beginning of awards season three kicks off with three phone fast fan is Toronto in telluride at the end of the summer the beginning the full and then bounced off you start hearing people's reaction and this is the red slacks a waiting van and you're looking at pictures saying well they're all satin and a prominent films with African Americans the soon so would directed by women I didn't know if they were going to cross over the queue for that group of voters in a few years ago actually when when a post all the adults because so white we could get at round tables with the active the directors the writers and when we were putting together the actress round table there were absolutely no women of color who seems like they would even like to to get nominated and I remember and and we got pretty massively criticized rightly I take the blame for this to have an all white women's round table and and we changed direction after that but it was evident that the industry walking creating those films and I think it's easy to say if the cat in the for XP industry see both you and you have to tackle things in multiple directions I think the academy's has done a great deal to do that what we have is talking about this the other things the academy dot for instance mentorship program financing for education there are multiple patrols here that lead to this problem and she also looking at the ferry downstream and the cat in the wrong but you call take in isolation April Stephen has a great point we tend to look at the academy not that the academy shouldn't be accountable they should they're sort of the tip of the iceberg in many many ways what's your view of the academy that you focus so much attention on verses the industry I absolutely agree with Steve and that it's not just the economy it's not just the golden globes is not just a Baptist we need to go all the way back to the very beginning to the screenwriter stage and figure out again whose stories are being told and who is telling those stories when someone is sitting down with a blank page and findings front of them hoping that they have written about to write the next best picture you know what is the protagonist look like is it a tall leggy blonde from the Midwest because if so by the time we get the casting months the maybe years later then the only person you're thinking about is Scarlett Johannson or Jennifer Lawrence but then one has to ask what is their hair color have to do with how well they perform in that film right because that means then then Daya and Gina Rodriguez and other people won't even get an opportunity to audition just because of what's that in the mind set I absolutely agree that the economy is the very end of the line so we really need to start back at the beginning and find out what opportunities are being given to traditionally under represented communities not just with respect to race but also sexual orientation gender identity disability to get those films made from the very beginning and at the same time April you have written about the types of roles that black actors and actresses do get nominated for once they are cast once they are in that pipeline you wrote a piece in variety you talk about how the only black woman to be nominated for Best Actress was Cynthia Revo who plays Harriet Tubman in the film Harriet similarly Lupita nyong'o won an Oscar for her role in twelve years a slave but this year she was overlooked for the to care after she played in Jordan peels hit movie us talk about what you see is the pattern for how black actors and actresses get promoted and celebrated when they are in films it's a real problem and I think that Stephen touched on this a bit you know that that in their minds that even when they were sending up those round tables they didn't think that those you know particular performances were even going to cross over for women of color and so they were included in the panel and one must ask what kind of troops palatable to the economy to voters to film critics because the vast majority of winners especially for women of color and black women in film have all come from a place where the characters are experiencing significant trauma so inflamed women women living in abject poverty even Whoopi Goldberg who played the cookie skit side kick in ghosts and when the best supporting actress you know they were there were questions about whether she had mental health issues right the only black woman who's ever won for Best Actress is Halle berry in monster's ball and clearly she with the troubled character and so one has to say well are there only thing is that the economy fees you know that only a slave narrative that is palatable to again a majority white male voter membership and that's the movies that we see time and time again you know why is it that my pain the pain of my ancestors is entertaining for you that that is what you will award but when someone like Peter in young girl has to fully fleshed out characters in us she is snubbed for that role because we actually the very first of may off to be on the actress roundtable if you will be pizza it was a wonderful performance so it isn't shown true of actresses of color you know for the rack access to the email you'll you'll you'll call the mansion on college and terrific performance by Adam Sandler but is deceived official in the movie Sean movies don't tend to do well they lost to until movie was was one of the very few exceptions and this applies just as much to active in that applies just as much the film that win the Oscar for Best Picture DOT flight in the whole history of the office you call he had any comment is that where you thought I called think of a single is shown a picture of that as well on the other hand Schindler's list winter so this isn't shocked a criterion for the place to women of color let's talk about some more films that could have been nominated that didn't get nominated we've already mentioned Stephen you mentioned hustlers one of many movies with a cast of mostly women directed by a woman they got zero nominations this year fair fail to to cross over is you say let's get people to hang on I want to I want to give people a little bit of a listen to hustlers here we go Wall Street guys it's in this country stole from everybody working people lost everything one of these things back to jail the game is rigged and it does not reward people who play by the rules like robbing a bank except get the keys hunter Harrison vulture some people have suggested that Jennifer Lopez campaigning for the nomination too much might have played into her not getting an Oscar nomination for her role in hustlers what what are your thoughts on this film and on the reason why J. lo was overlooked I mean how search has a very special place in my heart because it is based on and your magazine story but outside of that I just enjoyed it I think it has a lot of momentum it's a lot of fine and I mean my favorite teen hustlers as winter for Lawrence's teaching Constance Wu how to strip essentially and it's just such a loving scene between two women who were just you know being friends with one another but at the same time I think the thing with jail is that I think when you're voting for and someone when an Oscar part of the sort of metric is that you have to know that how much they wanted and away and that they need it and with Jello she's already like an icon she is such a form I mean we also heard the Superbowl last week and so I think it actually might have been the opposite that maybe she did and maybe that there's been that shouldn't wanted I'm not for need it to be to sort of solidify her status in Hollywood or or in the world really but it I was really surprised by Jill rocketing nomination because she had gotten a lot of the precursors and her biggest competition is obviously Laura Dern who is the favorite to win for playing a lawyer in marriage story but for a lot of the season especially after hosters career in Toronto they were pretty head like neck and neck but I think the jail thing is that did that character of like a mama bear stripper was not really you know super palatable to a lot of people she dealt drugs and you know sort of engaged or Shoup's worked as sort of a pen been engaged in sex work but at the same time like that's not really a role that we see women especially winning Oscars for I think I wanna push back in Stevens point earlier that that you know the problem about the roles women when the colors spit specifically play in movies is that extends to everyone I don't really think that's true anything Custer's is in some ways an example of that that this was sort of a prickly story about women who are doing bad things and getting caught doing them and that's just not a movie that people see as an Oscar movie I think that's everyone's detriment what we got this voice mail from a listener sharing his opinion about the role that race and gender should or shouldn't play when it comes to Oscar nominations we got several responses along this theme listen IBM injury Oscar is I don't mind or don't care who the with gender of the person is or what color the person is I care about quality in the movie that's being produced I don't care what color they are what gender they are I don't think it matters Linda tweeted this is it just possible that there were no good movies made by people of color or women this year when will the best just be the best without conditions attached Stephen you go first and then April what's your response okay I just briefly want to respond to sing about Jennifer Lopez I we saw she did get nominated the best supporting actress before it could be a thirty two fax one is that movie is very unsentimental about her role and it had a different ending in the retention people would have like that for the cliche narrative the very strength of the film is resistant to that meeting as you said less palatable the second thing is when conformist so let you see the acting when he seems so real that you think this is just what they like the performances of look she made it so real the people football if you'd just what she's like it's one of the reasons Tom Hanks has been so rarely nominate a you got nominated this year but not for many many years he makes it look so easy well certainly we're seeing the film let's let's put J.

Matt Gaetz calls out Democrats for not defending Katie Hill

"I I thought this was kind of interesting you just an interesting take on the situation that happened with representative Katie hill who we've all heard a lot about nationally over the last week or so Katie hill on Thursday resigned from Congress it was her last day and she gave a farewell speech where she said that there's a double standard and that if she were a man she would not be forced to resign from Congress now I take issue with that statement I take issue with a lot of Katie hill statements because she's not necessarily resigning over her situation she's resigning because she broke a rule and no one really even called her to resign accept her constituents and that's really how it should be if you're not familiar with Katie hill story she's the congresswoman who is involved in that the rubble which is the three person couple she had a husband your girlfriend they were in a relationship for a couple of years and as you may have a case of revenge porn because just a couple of weeks ago photographs of her with this woman were released and she was naked in some of them she was in there is some pretty steamy insulation situations in one she was naked holding a bong and showing attached to that looks very similar to the Iron Cross but what's really at the crux of her of her resignation is not necessarily those naked pictures it's actually the fact that she broken ethics law in Congress which was just voted on by her actually last year saying that Congress people could not date their staffers they cannot pay their staffers and have romantic relationships with them the one defender of Katie Helen this is where the conversation I think against the one defender of Katie hill came from a surprising place it came from representative Matt gates who is a staunch Republican he was one of those people who stormed to Adam Schiff skiff he's from Florida he's all over cable news he has no love for the democratic it a jet the Democrats agenda clearly but he made the point because he's a young person that this is kind of the new normal that there are this is going to be an ongoing problem with millennials as they enter office that many of them who grew up with cell phones have naked pictures and did they might come back to haunt you and that they shouldn't be something that knocks the person out of contention for an office and I thought it was kind of interesting because Doug you and I did not grow up with the cell phone in our hands my first one was a brick phone when I was like six no one would ever no one will ever find anywhere a naked picture of me no matter of all contrary just get you should buy dossier on yeah yeah but I guess for the ladies is this the is this kind of the new normal I just think it's it was an unlikely place where she found support with this Republican who's probably stance against everything the KDL believes but yet he came out and was the loudest over any Democrat anybody else in Congress defending her saying that this shouldn't be a problem moving forward because that this is really the new normal for it for young people I agree actually so I don't really see the naked picture as the problem they can either I'm with you on that I that you broke the rules yeah I personally think it's but I know a lot of people taking naked pictures and I'm not really sure why they still do with the amount of people who have had those pictures were no naked pictures you anywhere right not that I know of unless someone's you know call me while I'm sleeping or something which is you keep your face out of yeah that's but that and number one for a lot of millennials going yeah your face out of it yeah but the other naked pictures and the thing on it well how old is the guy who was defending her Matt gates of me see he's he looks like he's in his thirties he's a young I'm use okay Republic so okay so that does make sense then but that he understands culturally that this is something that you know he's thirty seven okay so the times they are A. Changin get with it are you yeah get that or get out maybe is yeah I do think that that did no one's naked picture should end of their career or and they're a you know and look how we've all seen Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johannson and all those pictures that were leaked a dog probably hear anything I heard there now it's really and it was embarrassing but it didn't careers yeah it shouldn't it shouldn't end your career if you're not doing anything wrong as a politician and you have a naked picture from a former relationship to wants revenge that should not in your career but she also broke the ethics rule though like you said Jan the real problem is that she was hooking up with someone on your payroll yeah and she a couple of my legislate one it was this woman who is a campaign staff and the other was for legislative director and so I think issues and leading people when she says this is a double standard they're only going after me because I'm bisexual or woman I don't think that's driving her one person actually calling her to resign because of the pictures I actually haven't heard of one person actually calling on her to resign except for one Republican woman running against her in our district and that's for obvious reasons is the only place I've heard it since but I guess you think maybe because there's more to it I think she knows that she got caught I think she knows that she probably broke that rule and so as she's getting out before it gets messy and before it goes through that route to me this is the reason I don't like the whole situation is because it is messy it's just there were so many different things that came out and like when it comes to naked pictures it's really frustrating to me but it seems like the person who is that the pictures come out about is the one who always gets all of the flak for it and not the person who actually release them a person's gonna get trouble though yeah you're right I also think California so whether it has been or the girlfriend whoever did it they'll probably be some ramifications I thought it was just kind of interesting that the unlikely source defending her was this Republican guy managed to get so much I mean it trust me he is so loud he's on every cable news shows on C. N. and he's on fox he's really a defender of the president he did but he came out he said this is an issue where a lot of millennials I think sympathize with Katie hell because a lot of young people who grew up with the smartphone in their hands took pictures sent them shared messages and materials that are now recoverable later in life well that's because he's also done yeah know for sure that's what I was gonna okay never but he is a lot of this is about that's what that tells me is that it yeah he also said that she is that she should be angry at her a fellow Democrats for not standing up and defending her and I would say that's probably right she was seen as a young and rising star in the party and everybody just sort of went well hands off because of the cancel culture that we talked about so

"Out, Bella, Thorne actress Bella Thorne. She shared some topless photos of herself on Twitter over the weekend to stop a hacker from doing it. Basically her Twitter account with hacked. All these uncharacteristic tweet some of them with racist language were posted to her account. She's got six point six million followers, you know. That's the profile picture was also changed to that of a man. Those tweets has since been deleted in a picture her picture returned, but she said for the last twenty four hours. Jessica Chastain's 'Dark Phoenix' character explained

"Yeah. The whole dark Phoenix is an extended x men storyline in the marvel comics universe at centers around Jean grey, a female superhero with special powers, and this is called dark, Phoenix. Okay. And so this one is set in nineteen ninety two and mutants, Jennifer, Lawrence Alexander ship, and nNcholas, hold among others have been sent to space to rescue members aboard a damaged shuttle. And while there, gene played by game of thrones. Sophie Turner absorbs a cosmic force. It takes over a body and greatly enhances your superpowers, and so now the mutants include Michael bender wonder if saving gene is worth risking. All of mankind also in the mix is a villainous alien played by Sacramento's Jessica Chastain. She wants to control gene for her own reasons. But despite some of the choice actors the biggest problems is the story is cold and humorless. And it's supposed to be the final entry in the series. And I can't imagine it would end so weekly should have had a little bit more razzle dazzle. So it's just okay. I'm giving it to out of

"I thought it was an entertaining overlong messed from FOX. But guess what what a lot of people would say that about the next film on my list, which is red Spero Brett's. Farrow was awesome. I was quoted in the ads and I'm sorry. Nearly as much as Scott, maybe Scott man's wouldn't offer a quote that they use. Jennifer Lawrence was absolutely fearless. Our best performance in years. I love the mystery behind this movie. I thought it looked great affiliate like an old Hitchcock kind of movie Francis. Lawrence really impressed me with it. And yes, then me a horse school. I'll actually I had to tell you that qualifies as an overlooked film. Brett Sparrow was very very good movie. I don't know if it's in terms of its warts and prospects, but it certainly was overlooked. No one's been talking about that movie at all after kinetic like in March. Yeah, it's a very very very good film. Solid. Jennifer Lawrence is fantastic. Leaves it all out there. She goes for real issue really does absolutely worthy of being mentioned in this overlooked show over on my list, the death of Stalin directed by Armato Ianucci. He is the executive producer of the, and this is a film that I it is a. Very dark comedy, and it is a very timely comedy. Even though it takes place in the early fifties. What the title says that death of Stalin the cast is amazing steep of semi as grading this movie. And Jason ISAACs is superb in this movie. The screenplay is terrific. It is sharp sharp movie. It's just so. It's such a good dark comedy and a timely one as well. But I also came back I think of March, and it's not being talked about enough overlooked godly. I did overlook this movie. And I've got no good excuse because they made it so accessible to me too. It was just for one reason or another something kept getting prioritized. And that screener still sitting at the top of my pile right now while watch it you got plenty of time. Bring it back to New York. Really, should I? Well, that's that is the plan break that including many authors per your, dad. Yeah. Who I met at the press state by the way for bedtime? Your dad who's awesome. Awesome. "You couldn't like you couldn't credit the PD or there's couldn't find Mexican model right to at least model the close. Yeah. No, Salma Hayek. They're just gal Selena Gomez longoria. None of those people were available. You had to get Jennifer Lawrence, which, you know, they're probably thinking like, I don't know. I it just feels very similar to the capital from hunger games. Jennifer Lawrence as part of the capital of wait. No, I'm not that means like the fancy rich weird people who have funny facial hair and like have very elaborate clothing. It's just like well now we have to show what it would look like on one of our. Hours. Still don't that means. Yeah. No. We're all of this. And DR. Actually, there's an amazing comparison photograph that will either uses the image for this or putting the footnotes, but they basically created a jacket that again, they're saying is influenced by these Romanian like what is it different one yet? Yeah. This is this is your like earlier this year to traditional Romanian design thirty thousand dollars. It is identical to these like things that are made by Romanian people like just they took it. Yeah. It's part of like national dress. Yes. For their like what they wear for. You know, it seems like it's probably ceremonial or maybe maybe they wear that shit like when they're out working in the fields. But. No. It's amazing looking. I'm just saying if they if they rock that good good on them. But I guess my issue is just like I mean, obviously a provision. That's just bad that they're selling it for that much money. I do. Clothing should be sold for that much regardless low vision. But it's insane to me that they didn't do anything like I don't even know if I'd have that much of a problem with it. If a had altered it in any way, right took it and put it on a skinny white woman. Yeah. Said this cost thirty thousand dollars now. Yeah, they're they're designers. So it's like to me, it's just like Lisi lack of slow. Why fills thing to right all design is influenced by other designs, and that just inevitable part? Right right of process. I think like the way to avoid this in the case of like this. The Mexican designs is like did they enlist the help of the people in Mexico who could give them real knowledge about the garments. In like understand the importance of it are they you know, if it's if all the wealth is just moving in one way like, and it's not an exchange, then you're fucking up like they could they could have been like yo we worked with these people. They're like we're setting them up like these people are actually help. Ping, the crafting of it and benefit from the sale of it. So it's not just totally like, oh that looks cool high designed people just ripped that off and the disingenuous like optically at least it looks better. And it is there those people are getting like material gains. Yeah. What you can't do, you know, like, just, you know, mind, the culture and be like, oh, I like these things and seal later. Yeah. I mean, I know some people in the fashion industry, and like they go on annual or seasonal buying trips where they just visit like community and just like by up shit from there. And they're just like, yes, this is our inspiration. But I think that a lot of times the inspiration is like we're just going to do that because that's fucking dope. And if that's the case like, you gotta give credit you you have to pay for that ship because you can't just profit off of their culture, like the generations the centuries. It takes for these things to develop in sort of turned into the design you'll to go. Oh, yeah. Now, that's the Chanel jump. Off or whatever or you know. So yeah. But it's a tricky thing because like I love the Paul Simon album Graceland. And that is you know, well known for being both a great album. But also like a white dude who just like went to Africa was like, yeah. This sounds sick. And then just took the the music right from there and made an American thing..

"Yeah. She's like I'm gonna do a production company. Now, she also has a you might remember she she was working at one point on writing a script with Amy Schumer that never came nothing ever came of that. She also has purchased the rights. I believe to a couple of different movies nothing has become those either. So you know, there's obviously like she's kind of trying to get some stuff started. But here's where I know. You're really gonna roll your eyes. Are you ready for it? This is how she was describing. This is what she was telling vanity Vanity Fair in February. I don't know how we skimmed past. These words ready quote from Jennifer Lawrence. I've actually been toying with the idea of becoming a billionaire and I'd like to start my own TV network. Okay. That was humor, right? I mean, I don't know. It's words. I'm pretty much a television professional this point. Oh god. I have a brilliant idea for a reality show called a break-up island. I can't tell you the details. But there are very distinct cast members like the bachelor between the ages of twenty and fifty who you stay with and care about my agent was laughing at me when I told them, but I am clearly upset what what's hilarious about this. She's the woman who like because somebody left her ideas, she thinks, she has the best ideas. And we know about Jennifer Lawrence that she is a like number one reality TV show fan because she kind of like embarrasses herself in front of Kardashians. When given the opportunity. Well, that's what this production company is allegedly going to do. And also hauled reality shows. It's also it's called there's it's called like love island or something. Right. Isn't there? Already a show. There is a show. Hot mess is go to an island. Yeah. There is a show called law violent. But yet this. This is what her what she wants her. He is going to do reality is gonna do specifically. They're going to do reality TV allegedly. This is what she wants to do. And she's excited about collaborating and rolling out. Some new exciting reality TV also kind of feel like were on the other side of reality TV like I feel like we've sort of piqued when it comes to reality TV, and we're starting to kind of come back over the hump. And now we're back into scripted television. I don't know in any case. That's what Jennifer Lawrence is up to and she's toying with the idea of becoming a billionaire. Yeah. Well, okay. I mean, okay. What I don't. I, you know, I'm not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence and haven't really ever been in. It's mostly just like, okay. So we do this thing with celebrities where we sort of react to their public persona. We act we react to your public persona. I don't like her public persona because I think her public persona is totally fake enforced and seems completely contrived. Like, oh, my fellow up the stairs again off shock. Yeah. I don't think celebrities need to be like that. They don't need to always be relatable. I also give celebrities crap for being totally unreliable. But in the grand scheme of things she runs afoul of that like over.

"Winter's bone the film that's announced jennifer lawrence on the world stage she styles as a teenage girl who is tasked with looking after family while hunting down her natural father here she is looking at one route of opportunity you might manage to what happened you're you're in your lip i fell of my bike bike well how old are you seventeen seventeen okay now if this is something you really wanted to do we'd had bring mom and dad on this okay i can time for myself not team camp seventeen you're still considered a minor but us government okay you have to be eighteen sign up would it be a problem getting mom and dad in here i mean i'm coming at you guys house my mom's sick my dad's on well d having brothers or sisters might be able to help i got a little brother little sister twelve and six his taking care of them right now i'm new on his way need to forty thousand dollars yes sir sounds like it might be a bigger challenge just stay home you know and take care of your brother sister because you know you're not gonna be able to take them with you to training i thought maybe i could not right at the beginning plus you wouldn't be able to have them when you're actually in the active duty on me because his going to be there to take care of if you had to go off and actually fight jennifer lawrence and her first pick roll out a motive the listeners been saying about wenches bone people generally positive on this so we've got david proctor to aden saying it's a classic one of the best of the decade discuss is backwards noah which are quite like nick emery says he so imbalan in english as a choice between that and king speech that you made the right choice thought it was excellent with a fantastic jennifer lawrence most importantly as partner descriptions pregnant with our son sweet is interesting though is not in king speech because this bone was not to so many oscars that year and looking back at the oscar season that yet i was a king speech plays won the fight again and went his bone was the smallest budgets and the smallest gross of the bunch the lowest grossing film nominated for best picture since nineteen eighty threes the dresser right i've never seen and do not know anything either today any other tweets yeah chris upton said extent film the book by danielle would release even better i can see that and i'm gonna try and pronounce this burana fielder said i saw it at the bergen international festival and nothing about it jennifer lawrence's performance brew me away the soundtrack was original enroll the soundtrack was really interesting from these films it's dick and hinchcliffe who's one ten to stakes kind of kind of his own path and very sort of acoustic atmospheric very appropriate for the surroundings manuela we talked about the foam ince's for all these films today and you've been touting jennifer lawrence as great performance hair that you're responding to an winter's bone i think she's so it's really hard to play someone who is going through a lot of emotionally draining things in not just be crying the whole time but she manages to communicate emotion we've out crying the whole time and he's like it feels very real and it's very honest and it's not true of euro it's not been too it's it's very just totally committed and it's not just on the surface it she just brings so much to everything she does and i think that early film just should so much promise and she dead on that and it's it's just so refreshing amazing to lift up stop promise in the sense i mean it depends what you're looking at if every choi there's like a passengers and increasing she's been down with the x men films and be interesting to see where she goes from here because i think she was like nineteen when she winces bone so she still you know late twenties or something like really young has a lot occur had a penchant see why she guys from him i think she's done a lot of roles not maybe as interesting as this one but i think every time she really that if she really does best can take that away from her it's an incredibly mature performances considering her lack of experience time and you know what she's trying to convey the sense of like actresses white and this bud and.

"And that was like probably an hour in and i'm sure it got better after that may i don't know the other thing that stood out to me was was as you said jeff jennifer lawrence is role to me like the perfect j liberal was silver linings playbook i think that was i i'm probably stereotypical with that i'm probably makes me a basic bitch to say that that i dug her in that movie but those are the kind of thing that's kind of how i fit her to this box and to me like this movie just felt like she was trying to do a russian accent and she also may be also head other scenes that other people might be interested in ice certainly was not because you know those are not those types of things of troll me to a movie theater like some immature listeners might be drawn to move theater but to me that's like what the basic that's how i would sum up this move someone's like hey what is red sparrow about like what is jennifer lawrence israel i would say she does a pretty weird russian accent and she also might not wear clothes in certain saints and that's pretty much a an that to me is not really feel like jennifer lawrence mu mercury's up a good point it's jennifer lawrence as been in a few movies lately a passenger's mother in red sparrow which mother was polarizing but i think passengers red sparrow have been generally critically disliked so sore seems like she's in a weird place i the movie just so dreary in her character was so jury into muir that you'll must kinda like what they spent twenty million studio spent twenty million on this you would wanna see on a roll you actually enjoy in and it's not are you can enjoy in this role that the movie is just so plotting tedious that there's only so much she do with this i thought she was one of the bright spots of the movie but again to titus point not jennifer lawrence is best role either it wasn't a role that i'm ever gonna look back and say that's a great jennifer lawrence for me to remember she was in his movie.

"The way i did go see it last night and i'm gonna get i'm going to get into that in a minute but a by now you have to have seen the promos for the new jennifer lawrence movie mother i didn't realise somehow i i missed it it is a darren are in our ski joint so i was not i was not prepared for through reaction to this movie rex read calls it the worst movie of the year maybe the worst movie of the century it's on rotten tomatoes it's got something like a 60 percent score but the reactions to it have just been people saying this makes this mistakes having religious references for being a good movie i get it we're going to die god's are one through salvation blablabla early glossing over that message man it is so heavy handed him blunt about the message that it makes you feel like an idiot another one horrible if you have to google search the meaning of the movie when you get home it's a failure review after review after review from the people who have gone to see it see on rotten tomatoes it's rock in like a sixty nine percent not huge not awesome passing cinema score this is where the audiences jinan it's got a hard f my argument here is that darren are unof ski films require repeated viewings to make any sense it it he is in it's not because he's such a genius now if if you were really truly like you know filmmaking super genius people would not need to see your move five or six times to really get where you were cohen with that i'm a huge fan of this guy's movies i think that they are visually stunning but there's a couple of these there's a couple of his films that i had to go back to a handful of times before i got what in the world was going on audiences right now do not have the time nor the inclination to do that now i told you guys i saw it last night my wife finally said enough is enough we are going to see the movie you have drug your feet we gotta go and so last night after defeating families flung drive out in front of the.
