"Morgan. Roberts is with us to talk about shiva baby and morgan. How's it going. It's going how are you today. i'm all right. This is actually. I should say all right. The wrong word us. Because i am kind of a bit of a mess from dealing with my parents today. So it's kind of perfect for this particular movie and it hasn't been quite a day. But i i'm happy to talk about this great movie though so It's it's already have. Yeah anytime that we can talk about ship baby. I think is a good thing absolutely absolutely well. This is your first time on this. Show what do you tell people a little bit about you and what you do well. My side hustle is that i write for few film sites. I for in their own league. A film academy and shuffle online. And then i recently started a podcast called on cinema gals project where Me and my friend charles. Just basically gab about movies and people who make them and It's very chaotic because we realized that we are both chaotic. leo's After we recently did an episode about the most chaotically which is jennifer lawrence so yeah cinema gals is on twitter and were also very chaotic over there. So beautiful yeah. I guess it's good to identify your niche. You know so. That's that absolutely so. Yeah shiva baby. This is a movie that i been looking forward to for a while. Is this one that had been on your radar for a while. I know it kinda got. Its first premiers last year. Yeah i remember. I think it was at south by southwest net. It premiered an. I was seeing a lot of really positive reviews about it and It does also have bali. Gordon who i think is kind of like a hidden character actress. Sure and After her tiny but very fun role in book smart. I was like oh. I'm excited to see her other film. That might be

This Green Bay Quarterback Idolized Alex Trebek

"Last weekend the world lost an icon we have learned that longtime jeopardy host. Alex trebek's has died after. Waging a brave very public battle with stage. Four pancreatic cancer so remembering the man with all the answers. Now extra bet you showed up in our households more consistently than any relative. Alex trebek's was not a game show host. He was like a friend today. The athletics match schneiderman on the connection between jeopardy host. Alex trebek's and packers quarterback aaron rodgers as a kid you grew up watching him in idolizing him and spending every weeknight with him so then to see him in person here that iconic voice in person is really special for rodgers star combination having a connection to somebody s the meaningful stall. But when you meet that person they have the president and the charisma that you have hoping they and definitely athletic. I'm davidson and i'm under sculptor. It's friday november thirteenth. And this is the lead so matt you recently talked to aaron rodgers about role that jeopardy has played in his life. What was his experience with the show. Growing up yeah. He told me about how when he was a little kid. He'd be staying at his grandparents house finished dinner early. And you retire to living room for jeopardy and grandpa's in his grandma's hurt sure i'm on the ground and that's just kind of a we. Did he was so devoted to this show from a young age and then he kinda grew to appreciate it more and he's a really intellectual savant. I guess you could say big trivia buff so that kind of drew him to it and alex trebek's became one of the iconic voices of his childhood a connection with certain people for my show and i've been fortunate enough to meet a few of them but it's kinda voices on my gv. I'm talking about john. Men summerall about how frank. And then on. Monday nights before bob barker on prices riot as he got into the league he said even if there would be obligations tend to in green bay on weeknights. He would record it. I mean literally friends of mine and visit dated. Six o'clock at my house is by had any friends over. If i was dating someone. If i had any family in town they knew that six. Pm in green bay was jeopardy time. So they'd better not make any other obligations so he was a real deal jeopardy diehard what stood out to him about alex trebek's as a game show host. He said really his cadence and his sense of humor and his ability to not make fun of but have a great back and forth with. The contestants are really enjoyed the often awkward coming into the first commercial. It'd be the contestants is reaction to so many of them is what made this show so great. Now just the thank you often have some nerds out. There were really nervous about what they do. It's called mary. Core hip hop it murdered. Core hip hop. It's people who identify as nerdy rapping about the things. They love video games science fiction having a hard time meeting romantic partners. It's really catchy. And fun losers. In other words. I know teasing you. And roger said that nature of trebek's the one that was playful with the contestants and related to them a little bit rather than just being a robot reading off of a sheet because it was his job for thirty minutes every night was what drew him to him so much before he became a professional. Football player did aaron rodgers do trivia. Was he the guy at the bar at trivia night. I'm sure he was. You know he's been on a couple of game shows. You probably know it then on multiple shows jeopardy hundred dollar ear man. Eight small felt things on a billiard table lopez jennifer lawrence i. I'm sure when he went to cal berkeley and he was the big man on campus there as the quarterback he was still going to trivia night at bars. I mean he challenges himself intellectually in a lot of different ways. I did a story with him last year seeing if he could name all thirty seven players. He's turned touchdowns to in his career. Rodgers could remember the exact route. Some no name tight end ran in two thousand and eleven. Because that was the tight ends only touchdown pass from rodgers so it was really impressive. Seeing how much he's able to remember and his abilities as a quarterback. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say his ability to process information and remember kind of the tendencies of certain defensive. Players definitely transfers over to a game show. Aaron got the chance to meet. Alex trebek's five years ago when he was a contestant on celebrity jeopardy. What was it like for him to meet the game show host. He grew up watching yet. It was big for him. Because you think aaron rodgers you know. You wouldn't be florida starstruck by anyone. This was in two thousand fifteen when he met. Alex trebek's super bowl. He'd already one to mvp's but aaron said he was the one of the few people that left me starstruck. And i think to be star star can have stayed combination of having a connection to somebody. That's that's deep. Meaning for a stall jack but when you meet that person they have the presence in the charisma then you kind of hope they would and you definitely did i so excited trying to keep it together as a kid. He grew up watching him in idolizing him and spending every weeknight with him so then to see him in person here that iconic voice in person it was really special for rodgers and he just loved more so than anything. How down to earth travek was how conversational he was. It wasn't something like okay. You're here on my show getting your position and i'll do my job. He was the guy you think he is on tv. All the things that make you feel like you care about the conversation. I'm talking about old school stuff. I'm talking about striking yet. Shaking your hand looking. I contact in the conversation. I felt like present in the moment. So aaron rodgers this trivia. Buff jeopardy fanatic. It's finally on the show. How did he prepare for it. Was he like in a room going over tape. His preparation for this show was unbelievable. He was watching. Not just the ken jennings and brad rudders of the world. But he was watching random contestants just to see how they approached the game. He watched tape of other contestants just to see where they place their hands to buzzing quick enough did they stay in the same category. Did they go. Two hundred four hundred six hundred or did they bounce around to try and throw off the other contestants so he came in with a very set strategy especially to go up against mr wonderful kevin o'leary from shark tank. That was his main competition. And i'm not gonna say he wanted to win it more than he wants to win a regular week ten. Nfl game against the jaguars like they have coming up this weekend but he took this very seriously show was a dream. But you don't think we're there any highlights or any surprises any categories where aaron rodgers did surprisingly well. Yeah leader of the pack. He obviously did very well in that in three thirty four bc. This great guy. Lead thirty five thousand greeks into persia. Aaron was alexander the great correct twelve hundred. The one question he did get wrong. Which was the final jeopardy question was it showed a black and white picture of two men riding old school motorcycles and the writing question i believe was what company made these. Aaron is looking pretty happy now. Did he come up with the correct response when he wrote down who are earned standing young and the answer was hardly and davidson and he got it wrong and then there's that brief moment where alex trebek's says well let's see how much wagered and rogers had a wry smile on his face and kind of smart looking at alex. Trebek's like i already know i won. This caused him too much. No he is the winner today. Charity the tape and he said he still has the little trophy. They gave him after winning celebrity jeopardy and that big fifty thousand dollar check the money that went to charity after he won. He still has those in his house. Check now with me. Checked and little choking and i asked him. Where does that day on. Celebrity jeopardy rank among non football ventures. Because he's been on game shows he's been courtside huge sporting events. He's the face of state farm billion dollar insurance agencies. He's done a lot of fun. Commercials there he said. The liberty jeopardy is right up there. The opportunity to compete against astronaut turned senator and super successful businessman. Plus really special. You know getting those nerves friend. He walks out turn just for.

"Talks face if you're listening please. Okay. So so they were talking about Bravo and heather used to work as the front desk attendant at Seoul cycles. So she was saying I've met so many different people and they're talking about Lisa Renna and heathers at Lisa's exactly how you see on the show which she is I mean knowing Lisa. Personally she's exactly that same way she's very energetic. She's very fun. She says what's on her mind and Jennifer was saying that she ran into Lisa Harry at dinner one night she's like I literally fucking charged the table. And she says I don't know if I actually said this to Lisa, but my friends and I have had a drinking game for forever of when you're watching Beverly Hills drink every time we says, Harry Hamlin, and like is just the kind of thing where I recognize as a much grander reference than just small community like Bravo is not a small community, but it's still feels intimate. So for Jennifer Lawrence to be saying that there's just something if you're Bravo Washer and you're and you're listening to that, you just feel very seen. I've a question. Of anybody more likable than Jennifer Lawrence. No she's incredibly likable. When I was listening to her I was like I cannot imagine a single person not liking you. was also very likable different type of likeable though Katy. Kirk. Go. Hey. What do you? Suppose you'll Pathak of you don't like Katie couric that's what I'm saying a different VIBE. Right. That's what I'm saying like Hoda Katie couric people like that. I feel like it's it's different the Jennifer but it's a similar kind of just. They're just so easy to like so easy to like I. So agree with you. And they're talking about the crash edens and. Heather made a comment about how you guys know. You're listening to this I'm sure you know that fight where Korean Kim are fighting. Costa. Rica and makes a comment like I'm not paying defy the security private and heather were saying she couldn't believe they were having that conversation on television and you could tell Jennifer. Didn't WANNA say anything kind of negative. She's very closest Kris Jenner. She's close to the family. So she made a comment like, Hey, you know good for them they share it all and then she referenced one of the most talked about Kardashian kind of memes. Kim. Posted the picture of North Frisian Horses and I was like hearing Jennifer Lawrence talk about northwest horses is sending me. It's the best thing that's ever happened again, I will references every single time the interview with Kim and Jennifer Lawrence is one of the greatest fifteen minutes of television. I've ever seen in my life if you haven't seen it, go watch it right now because I think that once you see that and you understand like the intimate relationship that she actually has with the families in makes her talking about North's sources a million times better. Yeah I also I mean the reason that we say that that interview was so good is because. Clearly something about Jennifer's interviewing style brought outside of Kim that we don't normally see. But having listened to her on Heather's podcast, which was a lot calmer a lot more intimate. You could really tell why like she has this present that it just seems very easy to get along with absolutely. Yeah she spoke about a lot of things show at the start of her career how she was discovered by a modeling agency when she was visiting New York she kind of moved there on a trial basis with her brother who was eighteen at the time and by the end of the summer she had booked a Sitcom. She spoke about a break and how she realized you know once you're in this machine just keep going you keep going I needed that time to kind of like reset and reconnect with the purpose of why was even doing this. But the Oscars fall conversation. I think was my favorite. What about you same loved it so happy it happened. Yes so as you guys know Jennifer Lawrence won the Oscar two, thousand thirteen for best actress for silver linings playbook. And you saw she's in that gorgeous toward your dress. Call her name she walks up and in a moment that I took the breath out of everyone in the audience, she falls on the stairs. And she's talking to heather about the experience. And you know a couple of days after that happened I, see Anderson Cooper on his show saying, well, she must do that on purpose. You know she did that on purpose she's like I was so personally offended by that because why would I have ever wanted to do that on purpose? She was like I don't know if I'll ever be able to be. On that stage again and to have that moment completely overshadowed by a kind of a stupid mistake was the last thing I would ever want and she was like an a couple months later I was at a Christmas party and I ran into Anderson Cooper and I confronted him about it. She says my friend said they stop the vein in my neck bone When I went out to I basically said, have you ever walked upstairs in a ball gown in hills? and. He was like, no, I haven't. She was like, yeah exactly. It would have never known and she said they apply he apologized he was incredibly gracious. They worked passive their friends now but. To have that visual was the type of behind the scenes content that we talk about. So frequently, Oh, my God, it was the best here at her talk about that moment because. First of all it's so funny. It happened. So long ago it feels like yesterday like it feels like it was last year's Oscars the Jennifer. warnes tripped and fell. And in my head when I remember it, I remember being this huge dramatic fall where she like stumbles over and can't get up like when you re watch it, which I just did before then it was like such a quick little fall and in my head, it was so dramatized I was it's funny. You say that because I obviously wash right before we started recording to you just to kind of relive the moment and also to relive her speech and yes, the actual Saul wasn't like Jason Derulo by.

"Jalen is married but not quite ready for full on a thing she was on dear media media's absolutely not with Heather McMahon, love you heather McMahon and revealed something she has not given up. I'm married and I have some properties like once a week like. Didn't you have won last night. Did my friend came over and. It was not planned, but she ended up spending the night and we slept in my bed and my husband's such an guest. Was He. pissed resilient. Yeah. It's fine. It's a slumber party. He no knows the drill. Okay. Okay. Hunter let's just try to keep your mind out for one second. Is this weird? Would you would you be pissed at this was your girlfriend and she wanted to have a slumber party with her friend in your bed and you had to sleep in the guest room? No. Okay finally up against the door with a cup, you know she's going to act like a fifteen year old. So Am I.. Your to the door just listening Meghan should not talking to see if there's any pillow fight tapping. Yeah I'm sure that's what you're listening for it is. Actually. A cute thing I think as we kind of get older. We all kind of realize that you stop doing things with your friends especially as you get deeper into relationships, hunter brings up a good point though because as one of the last single sanding friend like single people in my friends group, I feel like when people get married, they do get surgically attached to their partner and I love the J. largest. Like, has Herman on unlock. She's like you go to the other room also girly sleepovers. They're just like the best like bonding you get to tell secrets post meets like McDonald's watch Disney movies like I love girl sleepovers. I. Like boy sleepovers too. But obviously, those are happening less frequent now that we're in

"Morning everyone are you ready for some day leave? Just out today. So Morgan and I are joined again by Kisha Knight Polio. Actress a mother and you probably know her from house of pain and the cosby show. Thank you for joining us again and we are. Coordinated, in our Maulvi Pinky we are. Show and here we go. All right. Have you guys been missing Jennifer Lawrence because I definitely have we haven't seen her much recently, but she is back. She hasn't changed a bit. She still holds nothing back. In fact, she's talking about that infamous fall at the Oscars and why is set off of nasty little battle between her and Anderson Cooper listen to what Jennifer said on Heather McMahon's absolutely not podcast. I'm sorry but interesting Coober I saw him on. CNN. Lee. Three days later saying like what she'd obviously the ball and it was so devastated this horrific humiliation to me that like took away like I don't know ever have a chance to give a speech that again I saw him at a Christmas party and I let him know my friend told me that they was. But he apologized and I think I think we're good friends now. Do you think I wanted to fall getting Oscar but I remember when I led with was have you ever tried to walk upstairs in a ball gown? Right. So then how do you know like I with that? He apologized. Oh my gosh. Okay. I gotta go straight. Ahead some pesky reporters. To write stories sometimes, it's so weird. I haven't been in therapy about it for years now anyway, what was the question? is you see this particular person which I know loves you so much Is and you got to run into him or her at a party. What would you WanNa do would you talk to her? Would you say something? Oh my God I feel like I've envisioned this interaction first of all shot to Heather McMahon because I love her she is hilarious hilarious. I am obsessed with her so I'm happy for her that she got J. Lo on her podcast I feel like. Jay Jay said Jay Lop. I said. On kidding. I wouldn't mess up but. I will say I've had visions of maybe approaching certain people that write things and I think it really depends on the alcohol consumption. Cooper I right. I would go to Anderson Cooper because he's a respectable journalist, he made a nasty remark. You know you're getting an apology out of him but some of these other bitches are a little nuts. So I don't know I don't WanNa fuel anymore fire. So it depends it depends one hundred percent i. think that's a very good point you have to know who you're dealing with because if it's somebody who really doesn't like you and you get that five, a day could very easily turn the story around and write a whole other article saying crazy Morgan or crazy. Kisha. Came up in screen that man apart. But the other thing they if they're already writing crazy thing, they can write it regardless you scream are not. So. That's also true. I would say you've got to follow your gut and I completely agree with more again it depends on how many drinks of the consumed evening, how you're going to approach because you know sometimes yeah. You know there's certain like the GENITA- Crown, it may go let. Me Go left. It also depends on who's with you right. If my husband was with me see, my husband gets much more fired up than I do and I know you might find that surprising but he would be the one that would literally do me to say something I think you should say something you should call that did out and. I'm usually the one that's like, no, no, no. No let's just let it calm down. But if I'm getting like talked up into it, then I might yeah, pay south. Yeah versus if I have someone that's like, it's not worth the babe just to let's just go over here I'll be like. All right. You GotTa have your backup backup. Yeah. You got to have the right height man. If you're wanting to do it, it's got to be someone that's GonNa go up with you and have your back no matter what comes out of your mouth but. It's also good in these situations with somebody who's not necessarily your friend to be as composed as possible but I think when you're so heated already. Interaction, never goes as well as you want it to. and. All. Thank you. Scream at them. Yeah. I'm GonNa, say real quick. I think also even better way to handle this have a good woman someone who could do your dirty work for you. So you don't have to be the one that goes says us that this Lella you can have them do it and then your hands clean. One hundred percent yeah you need the right best e with you I like that okay. Moving out of channing tatum. So sad news I think channing Tatum Jessie j broke up again Jesse just posted this video drinking and dancing with the caption single live in a pandemic. That's how you get there strap. We talk about that. A source tells US Jesse and channing broke up months ago because they realize they're just better off as friends now they've brought up and gone back together multiple times at what point. Do you say this is finally do you think this is finally for these two I? I'm. Not Down here, you know I mean. Go ahead. No, you I mean I just think listen like you know it's supposed to be sort of like a new relationship is supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be easy and it might not last forever. But if it's supposed to be the fun easy relationship and you've already broken up four times in between that time, it just seems like clearly there's something here that is not connecting you to something is not working out. So just like leave it alone there's no reason for these to attack broken up three times like. In my yeah. At this point in life, you know my motto is. You know it's like spoiled milk. You don't put it back in the refrigerator. and. Come back and think it's going to be something other and foiled. On because clearly, it was gonNA work by now. Exactly Keach. Have you ever gone through this where you broke out was somebody got back together the whole thing I think that's something that probably when you're younger and you Kinda keep getting things to try and when you fall in love with the ones possibility I think as you get older and you've done it and you've learned that lesson, you realize you know okay you know what? This isn't working for me. It is. Okay. We don't have to make our. Yeah. I luckily, you said Fall in love with their possibility men is that true? Amir Young? You're falling in love half the time with just what you think. They're GONNA be your. Number set and then you realize that potential here and I. Think also when you're younger, you're more willing to be in a relationship that might not be perfect because you don't skip factor in time as much. But I think as you get older, you're like I don't have the time to waste on something that's really too difficult. You don't have the energy either

Accused of Mistreating Employees of Color, The Wing CEO Audrey Gelman Resigns

"Audrey Gilman envisioned the women's co working space. She founded as a women's Utopia. In Two thousand sixteen. Then twenty twenty-eight-year-old Gilman partnered with another something friend. Lauren Cassen to found the wing, its mission to be feminist, safe workspace in which women surrounded by other ambitious women would feel empowered to succeed and unbothered by the Patriarchy among other issues. The wing vocally supported pay equity. The company rose on the back of the METOO movement. It attracted members who loved the idea of a progressive women. I space high profile speakers included. Included Hillary Clinton and actress Jennifer Lawrence Tennis Star Serena. Williams is an investor. Members pay up to three thousand dollars a year for access to the CO working spaces, and all that comes with them from breastfeeding rooms to hair, care products, luxurious spaces, and a magazine called no-man's-land the new. York Times reports prior to the pandemic. It had twelve thousand members paying at least twenty one hundred dollars a year, according to the Wall Street Journal. In the four years since its founding the glamorous Gilman of former publicist became a star of business publication, celebrating the supposed success of the instagram worthy chain before covid nineteen hit, the wing had raised almost one hundred twenty million dollars in venture, capital funding and expanded to eleven locations, but underneath it's polished suspicious. There was deep trouble at the wing, rampant accusations by black and brown workers, persistent racial discrimination and abusive behavior by Executives, senior staff and club members that's according to reports in the New York. Times the Wall Street Journal and the Feminist Publication Jessie Belle. Earlier this month. Gilman resigned the same day. Managers at the Wings New, York headquarters staged a virtual walkout protesting labor conditions in solidarity with employees of color, most of whom cleaned served bus tables, and did other manual labor, in addition, a separate group of those former employees, most of them black and brown formed. "jennifer lawrence" Discussed on We Hear

"Today. We're joined by Eric on their of house. Party to talk about all things. Celebrity homes higher. Hey how's it going pretty good Office considered yeah. Thank you thank you. So we're talking a lot about people being stuck in their homes. Thanks to corona virus. If you could restock in any celebrity home where would you be? Well I mean right now the one. That's top of mind. Is the the home that Jeff Bezos just bought in Beverly Hills the hundred and sixty five million dollar warner state? Because I don't think you would ever have to leave And this place comes with a nine hole golf course. I don't know if you guys are aware that so even if you wanted to go outside you could get in a game of golf right privately. Exactly you don't have to get into to force them with anybody else. You can just be on your own golfing nine holes worth of golf. The Lauren Sanchez had a golf. I'm not sure I am. I don't know if she accompanies him on his outings on the golf course. I don't even know if they've moved in yet but This place the Warner Estate. That they bought David. Geffen is bonkers in terms of size and scope and had David Geffen Done work on the place had had he his own updates correct. Yeah he had he bought it. I believe as the early nineties for around forty million and Then just turned around and sold it just a couple months ago to. Bazo for ninety five million he had made upgrades over the years but The home was old Hollywood. All the way was built for one of the Warner Brothers. So it didn't. It's not that it needed a ton of work. But I think what Geffen did was update in just the right way. Yeah and this is not a Jeff. Bezos rate has has a few different places. I guess that he can hide out right. He's been on kind of a A real estate buying spree particularly since his relationship with Lauren. Sanchez came to light right. That's putting it mildly. Yeah he Bought a penthouse in New York City. I believe like a three floor penthouse for ninety five million dollars and then prior to his relationship with Lauren Sanchez and it was maybe a year or two after he bought the Washington Post. He bought a enormous. I WANNA say it was around thirty million dollar mansion in Washington. Dc So he has a place also in DC where he can be close to the newspaper and be close to the political elite as well and that's also in addition to the place that he owns near Amazon's headquarters in Washington state up near Seattle. And besides Jeff bezos buying up these properties because I know the The La Property. You mentioned I think was that the biggest sale in the history of Los Angeles. Yeah. La County for Short. Set an alley. County record is are these kinds of properties Besides Jeff Bezos. Being able to buy them. I mean are they still. Do they have enough people to attract the main? What are some of the trends going on that? You're seeing and kind of these like the absolute top of the market Record-breaking properties are there. Are there still enough buyers out there? I guess now with the economy going wait is maybe not but Yeah it it depends. I mean right now there is. I think there's a bit of a glut in terms of what what are called SPEC homes or the SPEC mansions that were built throughout the L. A. Area. Where the the grand kind of envision if you can those those kind of sleek modern white boxes that have kind of sprung up throughout L. A. County throughout Beverly Hills Bel Air? Those I think have been a lot of those have sat on the market for a while but There was one hundred and fifty million dollar purchase of Chartwell last December. And that was that was Lachlan Murdoch bought that place and then there was a sale of over one hundred. Twenty five million in Malibu last year as well so there are buyers out there but as you can imagine the buying pool of people that can spend over one. Hundred million dollars is extremely small It's the one percent that we hear so much about when they buy something they may not want to buy something that's already been built. They want something customized and specialized to their personal tastes. I do think it's fascinating. How many homes change hands through celebrities and this week? We saw photos of Haley. Bieber checking out Madonna. A home that was once owned by Madonna. A thirty-three million dollar home in Beverly Hills Right. Yeah we've written about Justin Bieber so many times and we talked about them a lot even on our podcast he has gone through. I believe I WANNA say around five or six different places in southern California always renting before committing to a purchase last year and the place. He bought it. Wasn't it wasn't what you'd expect. I guess from a a young celebrity was kind of just a a basic mansion. If you can call a mansion basic basic I know I know it's it's so it's so wrong but He had rented a place in twenty fourteen. That we still talk about. You know it had been dubbed. The Salad Spinner home. It's kind of reminiscent of. I don't know if you guys saw the home that ferrall put on the market last week that It's it has that Community College Office Park Survive and that was a home that Justin Bieber had lived in and that seemed to suit him. That's what you'd expect from a young celebrity right. Why are celebrities drawn to homes? That look like college campuses. That's about. That's a great question. We've kind of discussed that on our own podcast. The House Party It it is that I think there were in the nineties. There were these homes that were built and maybe even into the early two thousands. That were these kind of window. Sleek I guess at the time structures and that they really haven't aged well Now like I said. The trend is more towards these modern white. Boxy homes that have a great indoor outdoor flow. The kind of just go from the inside to the outside and you have these great views of the city down below the windows open. You know. It's there these fleetwood doors. They're called or windows. That just opened the entire home up to the outdoors and is it hard to figure out who the celebrities are. Who have bought these things as I know in New York? I mean when when we write about celebrities are altruistic people buying properties a lot of them are bought under sort of LLC's and Shell companies and corporations so is a difficult to try to figure out like which celebrity bought which crop ready. It's a very difficult. Yes Sir thank you for summarizing my life. Yeah how do you put it together? Is it a combination of property records and then you need like your source is is is. It sometimes just must be really hard to crack. Yeah it's a combination of Google searching property records searching all of the above and trying to discern who is behind analysis. And that's not something you know. I know you guys say you see it definitely in New York and I see it too. It's a problem in the bay area where I am You know a very rich folks buying homes behind. Llc's it's also problem in Miami. When I say problem I mean again. These these are relative terms but It yeah it can't be tough to discern who is behind a trust or an LLC so it does take a lot of kind of legwork to to try and track these things down so eric. I've got to ask you as the Authority on celebrity homes. What are some of the wildest additions you've seen you know I've heard like streisand? Had A shopping mall in her home. So and so has a bowling alley right. What's something that's really kind of blown your mind? Well I mean definitely top of mind comes the fifty cent mansion. I you guys are probably well aware. The fifty cent mansion that was on the market for over a decade and it was originally. Mike. Tyson's home. That place had a nightclub in it and it had a casino in it and at one point in time it had stripper poles in it. So that that places you know it's it's out in Farmington Connecticut out in the middle of nowhere but It was a mansion that was on the market. I think fifty cents put it up for. I'm sorry he put it up for eighteen point five million in two thousand seven it eventually sold last year vinyl price. Two point nine million so I had to come down. I guess. A lot of people out in Farmington Connecticut are not looking for triple stripper poles. Yeah no it's not a popular feature. I don't think in any part of the country. I may be an Vegas Maybe Vegas but yeah another one too is is shock home in or near. Orlando where he broke into the NBA. Back in the kind of the mid nineties. He bought a home in a city called windermere which is kind of a luxury development. Outside Orlando this is outfitted with a grill of a diesel truck. Casses nickname one point. In time was he was known as the diesel. So it's outfitted in one room with the grill of a diesel truck. It also has a cigar bar which I guess if you like smoking cigars and then the piece of resistance is the thirty foot wide bed in the master bedroom and I mean I just take a minute to think about how big a thirty foot wide bed is wow so and it right now at least in the staging photo listing photos. It had a big huge. Superman emblem kind of on the Bedspread wow it's hard to get sheets for that. Yes custom-fitted I mean. As many of these celebrity homes are everything's custom. You know you you want these custom features as you mentioned. Barbra streisand's basement yet. I mean these custom features are kind of de rigueur for celebrities. It makes a race car bed..

Diversity at the Oscars: The 2020 Race Isn’t Looking Any Better Than Last Time

"I feel like hell for the law and Michael to Michael for lying and get contraction I saw this French film of course later on so I was very excellent and might just make it to be honest it would not Maxis the prices for me you know at the very beginning of awards season three kicks off with three phone fast fan is Toronto in telluride at the end of the summer the beginning the full and then bounced off you start hearing people's reaction and this is the red slacks a waiting van and you're looking at pictures saying well they're all satin and a prominent films with African Americans the soon so would directed by women I didn't know if they were going to cross over the queue for that group of voters in a few years ago actually when when a post all the adults because so white we could get at round tables with the active the directors the writers and when we were putting together the actress round table there were absolutely no women of color who seems like they would even like to to get nominated and I remember and and we got pretty massively criticized rightly I take the blame for this to have an all white women's round table and and we changed direction after that but it was evident that the industry walking creating those films and I think it's easy to say if the cat in the for XP industry see both you and you have to tackle things in multiple directions I think the academy's has done a great deal to do that what we have is talking about this the other things the academy dot for instance mentorship program financing for education there are multiple patrols here that lead to this problem and she also looking at the ferry downstream and the cat in the wrong but you call take in isolation April Stephen has a great point we tend to look at the academy not that the academy shouldn't be accountable they should they're sort of the tip of the iceberg in many many ways what's your view of the academy that you focus so much attention on verses the industry I absolutely agree with Steve and that it's not just the economy it's not just the golden globes is not just a Baptist we need to go all the way back to the very beginning to the screenwriter stage and figure out again whose stories are being told and who is telling those stories when someone is sitting down with a blank page and findings front of them hoping that they have written about to write the next best picture you know what is the protagonist look like is it a tall leggy blonde from the Midwest because if so by the time we get the casting months the maybe years later then the only person you're thinking about is Scarlett Johannson or Jennifer Lawrence but then one has to ask what is their hair color have to do with how well they perform in that film right because that means then then Daya and Gina Rodriguez and other people won't even get an opportunity to audition just because of what's that in the mind set I absolutely agree that the economy is the very end of the line so we really need to start back at the beginning and find out what opportunities are being given to traditionally under represented communities not just with respect to race but also sexual orientation gender identity disability to get those films made from the very beginning and at the same time April you have written about the types of roles that black actors and actresses do get nominated for once they are cast once they are in that pipeline you wrote a piece in variety you talk about how the only black woman to be nominated for Best Actress was Cynthia Revo who plays Harriet Tubman in the film Harriet similarly Lupita nyong'o won an Oscar for her role in twelve years a slave but this year she was overlooked for the to care after she played in Jordan peels hit movie us talk about what you see is the pattern for how black actors and actresses get promoted and celebrated when they are in films it's a real problem and I think that Stephen touched on this a bit you know that that in their minds that even when they were sending up those round tables they didn't think that those you know particular performances were even going to cross over for women of color and so they were included in the panel and one must ask what kind of troops palatable to the economy to voters to film critics because the vast majority of winners especially for women of color and black women in film have all come from a place where the characters are experiencing significant trauma so inflamed women women living in abject poverty even Whoopi Goldberg who played the cookie skit side kick in ghosts and when the best supporting actress you know they were there were questions about whether she had mental health issues right the only black woman who's ever won for Best Actress is Halle berry in monster's ball and clearly she with the troubled character and so one has to say well are there only thing is that the economy fees you know that only a slave narrative that is palatable to again a majority white male voter membership and that's the movies that we see time and time again you know why is it that my pain the pain of my ancestors is entertaining for you that that is what you will award but when someone like Peter in young girl has to fully fleshed out characters in us she is snubbed for that role because we actually the very first of may off to be on the actress roundtable if you will be pizza it was a wonderful performance so it isn't shown true of actresses of color you know for the rack access to the email you'll you'll you'll call the mansion on college and terrific performance by Adam Sandler but is deceived official in the movie Sean movies don't tend to do well they lost to until movie was was one of the very few exceptions and this applies just as much to active in that applies just as much the film that win the Oscar for Best Picture DOT flight in the whole history of the office you call he had any comment is that where you thought I called think of a single is shown a picture of that as well on the other hand Schindler's list winter so this isn't shocked a criterion for the place to women of color let's talk about some more films that could have been nominated that didn't get nominated we've already mentioned Stephen you mentioned hustlers one of many movies with a cast of mostly women directed by a woman they got zero nominations this year fair fail to to cross over is you say let's get people to hang on I want to I want to give people a little bit of a listen to hustlers here we go Wall Street guys it's in this country stole from everybody working people lost everything one of these things back to jail the game is rigged and it does not reward people who play by the rules like robbing a bank except get the keys hunter Harrison vulture some people have suggested that Jennifer Lopez campaigning for the nomination too much might have played into her not getting an Oscar nomination for her role in hustlers what what are your thoughts on this film and on the reason why J. lo was overlooked I mean how search has a very special place in my heart because it is based on and your magazine story but outside of that I just enjoyed it I think it has a lot of momentum it's a lot of fine and I mean my favorite teen hustlers as winter for Lawrence's teaching Constance Wu how to strip essentially and it's just such a loving scene between two women who were just you know being friends with one another but at the same time I think the thing with jail is that I think when you're voting for and someone when an Oscar part of the sort of metric is that you have to know that how much they wanted and away and that they need it and with Jello she's already like an icon she is such a form I mean we also heard the Superbowl last week and so I think it actually might have been the opposite that maybe she did and maybe that there's been that shouldn't wanted I'm not for need it to be to sort of solidify her status in Hollywood or or in the world really but it I was really surprised by Jill rocketing nomination because she had gotten a lot of the precursors and her biggest competition is obviously Laura Dern who is the favorite to win for playing a lawyer in marriage story but for a lot of the season especially after hosters career in Toronto they were pretty head like neck and neck but I think the jail thing is that did that character of like a mama bear stripper was not really you know super palatable to a lot of people she dealt drugs and you know sort of engaged or Shoup's worked as sort of a pen been engaged in sex work but at the same time like that's not really a role that we see women especially winning Oscars for I think I wanna push back in Stevens point earlier that that you know the problem about the roles women when the colors spit specifically play in movies is that extends to everyone I don't really think that's true anything Custer's is in some ways an example of that that this was sort of a prickly story about women who are doing bad things and getting caught doing them and that's just not a movie that people see as an Oscar movie I think that's everyone's detriment what we got this voice mail from a listener sharing his opinion about the role that race and gender should or shouldn't play when it comes to Oscar nominations we got several responses along this theme listen IBM injury Oscar is I don't mind or don't care who the with gender of the person is or what color the person is I care about quality in the movie that's being produced I don't care what color they are what gender they are I don't think it matters Linda tweeted this is it just possible that there were no good movies made by people of color or women this year when will the best just be the best without conditions attached Stephen you go first and then April what's your response okay I just briefly want to respond to sing about Jennifer Lopez I we saw she did get nominated the best supporting actress before it could be a thirty two fax one is that movie is very unsentimental about her role and it had a different ending in the retention people would have like that for the cliche narrative the very strength of the film is resistant to that meeting as you said less palatable the second thing is when conformist so let you see the acting when he seems so real that you think this is just what they like the performances of look she made it so real the people football if you'd just what she's like it's one of the reasons Tom Hanks has been so rarely nominate a you got nominated this year but not for many many years he makes it look so easy well certainly we're seeing the film let's let's put J.

Matt Gaetz calls out Democrats for not defending Katie Hill

"I I thought this was kind of interesting you just an interesting take on the situation that happened with representative Katie hill who we've all heard a lot about nationally over the last week or so Katie hill on Thursday resigned from Congress it was her last day and she gave a farewell speech where she said that there's a double standard and that if she were a man she would not be forced to resign from Congress now I take issue with that statement I take issue with a lot of Katie hill statements because she's not necessarily resigning over her situation she's resigning because she broke a rule and no one really even called her to resign accept her constituents and that's really how it should be if you're not familiar with Katie hill story she's the congresswoman who is involved in that the rubble which is the three person couple she had a husband your girlfriend they were in a relationship for a couple of years and as you may have a case of revenge porn because just a couple of weeks ago photographs of her with this woman were released and she was naked in some of them she was in there is some pretty steamy insulation situations in one she was naked holding a bong and showing attached to that looks very similar to the Iron Cross but what's really at the crux of her of her resignation is not necessarily those naked pictures it's actually the fact that she broken ethics law in Congress which was just voted on by her actually last year saying that Congress people could not date their staffers they cannot pay their staffers and have romantic relationships with them the one defender of Katie Helen this is where the conversation I think against the one defender of Katie hill came from a surprising place it came from representative Matt gates who is a staunch Republican he was one of those people who stormed to Adam Schiff skiff he's from Florida he's all over cable news he has no love for the democratic it a jet the Democrats agenda clearly but he made the point because he's a young person that this is kind of the new normal that there are this is going to be an ongoing problem with millennials as they enter office that many of them who grew up with cell phones have naked pictures and did they might come back to haunt you and that they shouldn't be something that knocks the person out of contention for an office and I thought it was kind of interesting because Doug you and I did not grow up with the cell phone in our hands my first one was a brick phone when I was like six no one would ever no one will ever find anywhere a naked picture of me no matter of all contrary just get you should buy dossier on yeah yeah but I guess for the ladies is this the is this kind of the new normal I just think it's it was an unlikely place where she found support with this Republican who's probably stance against everything the KDL believes but yet he came out and was the loudest over any Democrat anybody else in Congress defending her saying that this shouldn't be a problem moving forward because that this is really the new normal for it for young people I agree actually so I don't really see the naked picture as the problem they can either I'm with you on that I that you broke the rules yeah I personally think it's but I know a lot of people taking naked pictures and I'm not really sure why they still do with the amount of people who have had those pictures were no naked pictures you anywhere right not that I know of unless someone's you know call me while I'm sleeping or something which is you keep your face out of yeah that's but that and number one for a lot of millennials going yeah your face out of it yeah but the other naked pictures and the thing on it well how old is the guy who was defending her Matt gates of me see he's he looks like he's in his thirties he's a young I'm use okay Republic so okay so that does make sense then but that he understands culturally that this is something that you know he's thirty seven okay so the times they are A. Changin get with it are you yeah get that or get out maybe is yeah I do think that that did no one's naked picture should end of their career or and they're a you know and look how we've all seen Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johannson and all those pictures that were leaked a dog probably hear anything I heard there now it's really and it was embarrassing but it didn't careers yeah it shouldn't it shouldn't end your career if you're not doing anything wrong as a politician and you have a naked picture from a former relationship to wants revenge that should not in your career but she also broke the ethics rule though like you said Jan the real problem is that she was hooking up with someone on your payroll yeah and she a couple of my legislate one it was this woman who is a campaign staff and the other was for legislative director and so I think issues and leading people when she says this is a double standard they're only going after me because I'm bisexual or woman I don't think that's driving her one person actually calling her to resign because of the pictures I actually haven't heard of one person actually calling on her to resign except for one Republican woman running against her in our district and that's for obvious reasons is the only place I've heard it since but I guess you think maybe because there's more to it I think she knows that she got caught I think she knows that she probably broke that rule and so as she's getting out before it gets messy and before it goes through that route to me this is the reason I don't like the whole situation is because it is messy it's just there were so many different things that came out and like when it comes to naked pictures it's really frustrating to me but it seems like the person who is that the pictures come out about is the one who always gets all of the flak for it and not the person who actually release them a person's gonna get trouble though yeah you're right I also think California so whether it has been or the girlfriend whoever did it they'll probably be some ramifications I thought it was just kind of interesting that the unlikely source defending her was this Republican guy managed to get so much I mean it trust me he is so loud he's on every cable news shows on C. N. and he's on fox he's really a defender of the president he did but he came out he said this is an issue where a lot of millennials I think sympathize with Katie hell because a lot of young people who grew up with the smartphone in their hands took pictures sent them shared messages and materials that are now recoverable later in life well that's because he's also done yeah know for sure that's what I was gonna okay never but he is a lot of this is about that's what that tells me is that it yeah he also said that she is that she should be angry at her a fellow Democrats for not standing up and defending her and I would say that's probably right she was seen as a young and rising star in the party and everybody just sort of went well hands off because of the cancel culture that we talked about so

And she said, I can sleep better tonight, knowing I took my power back. You can't control my life, and you never will keep in mind that guy who remember Jennifer Lawrence was hacked among hundreds of others. He got sentenced to prison last August. For eight months. All of mankind also in the mix is a villainous alien played by Sacramento's Jessica Chastain. She wants to control gene for her own reasons. But despite some of the choice actors the biggest problems is the story is cold and humorless. And it's supposed to be the final entry in the series. And I can't imagine it would end so weekly should have had a little bit more razzle dazzle. So it's just okay. I'm giving it to out of

"I thought it was an entertaining overlong messed from FOX. But guess what what a lot of people would say that about the next film on my list, which is red Spero Brett's. Farrow was awesome. I was quoted in the ads and I'm sorry. Nearly as much as Scott, maybe Scott man's wouldn't offer a quote that they use. Jennifer Lawrence was absolutely fearless. Our best performance in years. I love the mystery behind this movie. I thought it looked great affiliate like an old Hitchcock kind of movie Francis. Lawrence really impressed me with it. And yes, then me a horse school. I'll actually I had to tell you that qualifies as an overlooked film. Brett Sparrow was very very good movie. I don't know if it's in terms of its warts and prospects, but it certainly was overlooked. No one's been talking about that movie at all after kinetic like in March. Yeah, it's a very very very good film. Solid. Jennifer Lawrence is fantastic. Leaves it all out there. She goes for real issue really does absolutely worthy of being mentioned in this overlooked show over on my list, the death of Stalin directed by Armato Ianucci. He is the executive producer of the, and this is a film that I it is a. Very dark comedy, and it is a very timely comedy. Even though it takes place in the early fifties. What the title says that death of Stalin the cast is amazing steep of semi as grading this movie. And Jason ISAACs is superb in this movie. The screenplay is terrific. It is sharp sharp movie. It's just so. It's such a good dark comedy and a timely one as well. But I also came back I think of March, and it's not being talked about enough overlooked godly. I did overlook this movie. And I've got no good excuse because they made it so accessible to me too. It was just for one reason or another something kept getting prioritized. And that screener still sitting at the top of my pile right now while watch it you got plenty of time. Bring it back to New York. Really, should I? Well, that's that is the plan break that including many authors per your, dad. Yeah. Who I met at the press state by the way for bedtime? Your dad who's awesome. Awesome.
