Steve Deace: The Number One Driver of COVID Surges in the World Is Vitamin D Deficiency
"That's exactly right Nobody is lobbying on Capitol Hill on behalf of vitamin D seasonality If your name's Matthew McConaughey or Jennifer Garner and you get an audience with Anthony Fauci as a big Hollywood star and you ask him about vitamin E he tells them the truth and even admit hey I take 8000 IUs of vitamin D a day Well you know last year when everybody was locked down instead of sending him checks that just crushed our inflation rate why do we send everybody at vitamin D pack Because the number one the number one driver of COVID surges in the world is vitamin D deficiency The number one driver That's because that's what is connected with the seasonality here But we would do things like this if it was about healthcare And it's not And the mask mandates were to condition us for vaccine mandates The vaccine mandates are to condition us to hand over our bodily autonomy because once we've handed over our bodily economy we are essentially now handed over That's what this is about This is about a mass acquisition of power and control We are seeing hospitals now that are losing lawsuits about Ivermectin who are then still after the patient they're going to chase last weekend where a guy got Ivermectin and walked out of the hospital A few days later they are still appealing it How dare he survive They're still appealing He's not setting a president that they have to do this There was a case in Wisconsin where the family said we'll bring in our own doctor You don't even have to put your hands on it and the hospital still said we won't let you do that even if you bring your own doctor in and then the guy died Whatever This is insane We're in control as I

"And they have to answer. That's right and there's something about the the buddies in the bunker with you when you sort of started from square wine when you're just line across the country with your zeal and you know and then the shine wears off the penny a little and but you still got your your guys. You've got your people. I love those people. I hang on to them for dear life. I'm like you. I have all my people from forever. There's no hope for them. They can't leave. They cannot escape my clutches. I won't. I won't have it. It's so special to build something beautiful with people that you love that you can trust that love you. That kind of grab you by the hand. Before because i can be not resilient to win. Things wobble my outlook on life in general is just glass almost all the way for almost and let all dips yet alaba. It's harder for me than just dumping glass out. Yeah i know what you mean. Don't ask you this as we kind of. Start to wrap it up here. This series on the show is about transitions. And i've talked a lot about moments in your life where you have kind of moved from this to this from this to this from this entrepreneur. One thing that you and i both know at our age is that at this point we encounter. These constant transitions in our life and some of them we choose and some of them we don't and yet they're they are for us to figure out what to do with and how to manage how we wanna move through them on the other side and so i was kind of a a large question but when you look back can you say. Is there a a particular transition when he moved from estes in your life whether you pick it or didn't that stays with you. That was super impactful to you. That really taught you something. It was a big teacher for you. And then what you ended up ultimately being grateful for. I don't know how you do it change but changed for most of us as hard change hard. Yeah cheat. I'm mean i have a tendency to kind of or i did it when i was younger like i leapt into moving in living in new york before i thought about living in new york and then i leapt into moving to l. a. and then had to absorb that. Wait a minute. I just left this all but i live here now here. I don't know anyone that was actually. That was probably you. Choose a big transition for me. Because i didn't realize. I had built a community for myself. In new york i i had casting directors who were rooting for me and pull making better. I was part of a group above just up. Incomers yeah i was kind of i was thriving there all of the sudden. Something brought me out here. A pilot or something and i had moved enough furniture. You know like the secretary. My parents put in my room. One sunday morning while i was still sleep that i've had everywhere i've lived since then and it was in la and it was like. Oh well if this is here. I live here and i didn't like i didn't like it and i was stuck and i couldn't afford to go back and i just was like i remember giving myself a talking to and saying you can either figure out what you like here and do it every day so for me at the time. It was yoga. Which i've never done since but and it it was heike and it was farmers afflicts and those things i did religiously and i said you either you not and start to invest or you can get over yourself in leaf but you may not complain about it anymore. Wow how old were you when you move there. I was twenty five. Yeah that's pretty young to set out without an a community that kinda fall on you were really wise to know what to reach for. If it wasn't people what else could it be. I mean if it wasn't success yet what else could it be. I actually love when i see young adults do these sort of big risks when they move somewhere by themselves when they take a plunge that seems you know fairly ridiculous or some sort of rest i. I'm always excited to see what they're going to stay on the other end. It's almost universally good. I have been in my kitchen a lot this year. Working on my cookbook. "Show you my garden right now. Some so happy about me. Kale in my butternut squash federally my sandwich. Somebody over at. I grew that tomato ida. Pull it out of the ground and eating it right now. That is how it works but it kind of skipped our generation. We got our in the grocery store and so this regathered. That's the yet. I'm on now for taint. She never fell for little debbie's or is and let me tell you. I wanted them out her beautiful homemade food for a little debbie snack cake faster than i do anything and the same with my homemade dresses. I just but my mom really did grow up on a farm and she brought that you know she brought that we always had like you said a big garden we always had and she always said you kids if i cook these veggies and put them in front of you you want nothing to do with him but if i tell you to go out there and pick the green beans i'll find you fifteen minutes later eating as many as you can. So who cares. It's getting into you know it's just different. When case like the sun so we always were farmers market. Family you know. Everything was homemade organic. Whenever superfood always made sense to me and that you know food his love kind of way. It's funny i. I had not put this together until like today. I was thinking about it for some reason may be talking to you but i was shooting this movie. Kingdom with jason bateman and. My daughter was my i was eight months old. She was learning to crawl. I remember and i was humping nursing. Heating an action movie in the desert and china make homemade forgotten baby food and then you have to rinse this out. You have to do. And i'm trying to figure out. What nutrient should she have. How long. How long has this been in the freezer of this rental. Is it safe. Still is it. You know it kinda starts to look so when i heard about what's up on a farm. That was tiny at the time. And then i met john four or who is in an angel investor and he and i had this incredible first conversation he was he had built. Annie's he was now working solely. Gm we all know. Annie's i kinda was like. Why are you into this tiny company. I'm kind of intuit. And he said why are you into it. And i said i'm into building a company that helps accessibility for all kids to this level of nutrition. An agreement you have to build the company at and you know were annette. And he like. I'm into that too. And he left his company and we shook hands and said i'm in if you're in not was it. Oh my gosh hello ago is that that was twenty seventeen. So what's happened with it since like at two thousand seventeen what it looked like an twenty twenty one. This is what it looks like. Yeah it's pretty crazy. It's so fun what's happened is that we've gained the trust of moms across the country and that we have little kids who have grown up you know reaching for our the farmer the little barn on the front of our our food and and have grown up without sugar. I mean what. Gosh when i think of the sugar than my kids they have. We have no sugar added. We are totally plant based. We're totally organic. We are clean. We have the purity award. Every which way to sunday we are yes still baby. That will always be a huge part of our dna but we are kids. We are right there in the lunch box where i've dreamed of being forever and just growing like crazy by in it's just really fun and officially partnered with save the children and we do have a wick line to make sure that this old nutrition is available and so then kind of flipping state-by-state trying to flip states because so few states even accept organic baby food or kids. Food make it make sense. It's so easy. Yeah so working on matt working on making sure. We're we're in a variety of that with a variety of pricings. And you know it's all learning for me. I didn't know i'd never taken one business class. I didn't know anything. Yeah yeah running. A business is a whole deal. I can only imagine how you can strike out with vision. I'm like that. I'm a vision. I'm big ideas and thirty five thousand foot view kind of thinker her and then it turns out to execute all that as a business person who has staff and that sometimes my team has a community to be like so we've got our bottleneck and the bottleneck is named john had acre. And i'm like okay. Yeah 'cause that's a whole different muscle to flex. Have you learned to let the business part because some of it is not as fun as the idea part or as the results part. I love the results part. That's my favorite space on the spectrum. That the the middle part is a lot. Yes there was a moment there where we just had a couple of rough meetings at retailers. You know what i like. John and i would be in these meetings all over the country talking to retailers about our food and we're educating you know why we need to be in refrigerated what the difference is. Why are we all into fresh pet. And we think it's normal and we've allowed there to be a refrigerator in the pet food aisle and then meanwhile for our little babies were still basically feeding them. Catsuit lake why. Why is this was harsh. But that's a whole you know in educating retailers educating consumers. That's been a whole thing but there was a minute where it looked like. Oh gosh is this going to work work all the early love of me showing up at these places it was wearing off and it was like. Oh my god. Is this going to work. And then we kind of we. We had i remember. I went home from one of those. And i got back here to the office and i cried. And then he said. Hey buckle up. This is what it looks like. And i said all right i trust you and by the way that was that was the nature. I'm sure we'll hit another one. I hope that he helps me. Be more resilient next time but a blue love that i i just i love. I love any community. I was like to be in a community and this my point that i was part of building and so i have all these buddies you know and i get to like ask questions.

"I really am super interest. Good and proud of you for this new season. Two that you've added on this new layer of once upon a farm and your work with save the children. And i just like to hear you talk about a little bit. What drew new here. I'm curious how these have found their way into the beating core of your heart because they it seems like they really have for sure. Well save the children. I went looking for both of them. And we're looking for. But i'll start dave his. It's been around the longest. And i really wanted to know who is helping kids like my mom who grew up poor in oklahoma or like the kids had grown up in within west virginia. Who was helping them get a leg up and have you know. I know we were very clear that our lives were shaped by our parents. Just education and that education changed their lives in the trajectory of ours. And what was possible for us and it just bothered me being little in west virginia and seeing kids that i just saw i. I know that she's smart. So why did she get. How back and i can see that. He is the front of his shoes are cut open to make room for his toes. And i can see. There's something very not fair here. So once i did have a voice there was just like it finally came back to. What can i speak about the most authenticity. What can i. Where do i connect to and can i. I guess i was pregnant with my second daughter. And so can i. As a mom of little kids really service in organization in africa that cue. You know because how you do. Anything is how you do everything. So i wasn't gonna adjust. Put my name on something and i wasn't gonna i i didn't i'm not good at wasn't good at just being like i'll see kids i'm gonna go to wherever for a couple of you know i mean god bless everyone. That is not something that i thought that would be good at doing so. Yes so i hunted down. What organization was really doing work in rural america and save the children all over the world are our whole global goal is to help kids where no one wants to go and where. No one's helping that. So we are in afghanistan we do. We're always in the middle of the abullah crisis. Were always in the middle of you. Know like catching kids as they're leaving syria and in we're in those refugee camps where in disasters and where we are hand in hand with the red cross and just kind of one of the leading organizations helping kids in the whole world and in the us. The work is so beautiful and it's almost unknown because we're in the little tucked away corners. A i think like fade insecurity and poverty in america. It's it's a little bit invisible because we want it to be what we look at and so it is in some ways easier to look across the globe and see it somewhere else in a country that is so differently culture than ours or with such obvious distinction but the food insecurity in america is high high high high. Would you know of worse. it's yuli high end. also we're talking about kids. Who by the time they enter kindergarten. They are so far behind and so hard to grasp. Because it's like what do you mean. Why would you be behind going into kindergarten. But when you're in the homes and there is no talking no babbling. No there's there's the when you see if you think about the times in your life where there's so much stress you can't see out from under your own eyelids to to get things done and to be your own engine take that and then times tenant because you're alone and you have no experience other than being isolated in poverty. So where is coming from their drugs around. Where are you going to sleep. Heizer bursting and the broken steps outside your home or frozen. So it's just problems compound upon problems and then the country is judging you because we're a pull yourself up by the bootstraps country. You're just screwed. So you're not talking to your baby. It's never been modeled for you there. No books in your home. There are no crowns in your home. This baby is just existing and then they're being sent to kindergarten without ever having stood in line without ever having held a book without ever or is not without ever than not enough you know. Think of the repetition that it takes for a child to reach a book sit on your lap and know how to turn pages when you hold a child than you. Give him a book and they don't know what to do with it. You just think wow sued. That's what so much of our country looks like and it you know early head start reaches less than five percent of kids that are eligible. Headstart reaches about thirty five percent. There aren't options for parents out there and they haven't been educated and kind of empowered to give their own kids that kind of experience so we just do a really. I say we as if i have anything to do with it. Save the children just does a up great job with it and vilson they just do they do and food insecurity as well and that is where once upon a farm comes in. Because i've worked with mark shriver at saved for all these years and he said to me a long time ago because a lot of what we do is advocacy and at the state level for policy change. And he said you know it's funny. Business is really pushing philanthropy as much as government is and you need businesses to invest back into their communities so i always felt frustrated that there weren't enough businesses. Tj max of ulta beauty incredible incredible but it felt like why is everyone not obviously giving to kids around the corner and save the children and i just had this dream of that. Some little business i would be a part of would get enough of a foothold that we could be meaningful givers and we are. Were getting that happening. that's happening. it's happening. I now. I just want to hear more. I wanna hear how that the origin story of this exact idea is it. Is i mean from this from the big screen to the earth to the dirt to tractors. I mean this is the this is kind of the gritty stuff of production and creativity. It's just in a different way. You're creating different things. And so i love. This was where you went with your head. I love this is what you chose. It's kind of the intersection of several needs. And so can you talk about. It's early beginning what you have learned because it meaningful work to to turn this oil and to grow beautiful things. It's it's so metaphorical. It's so physically transformational mentally transformational and then obviously communal transformation which you're putting it towards so i just kind of want to hear you talk about i'd garden. I grew tomatoes in sach and peppers and okra for years in my little backyard and never at one point was not a miracle to me and i thought when can i get some chill win when year is going to be that i act normal. Yeah by the way. I've lived in california for when he i know over twenty years i think along time twenty four years and i cannot get over that lemons grow on trees. You're a kid over the one in your house in your yard. I just like right. Here is the list of fruit trees. That i am excited to put order in for because i'm so just get it for jazz by it. I'm so easily exciting by all of it. They wanna like carry the computer out in.

You cannot watch shows like that that is how the devil inside your heart and then he's gonna live there hermit especially when you try go to sleep chen. Yeah i can't. And i know that great drama happens in these scary shows but it is not happening for this girl. I will watch cheers season. Eight all the way through again. That's where i four i can dip into. I would love to watch ozarks. I love jason bateman. I mean i think he is one of the most talented people in the world in. I also adore him as a person. And i still is just like yeah. It's a hard pass. That's going to be hard pass do that. Now i'll be a person who throws her tv out. The third story window before i resort to thrillers and psychological warfare like that. I won't do it. i just won't do it. I still to this very day on forty six years old and with great clarity. Like incredible clarity like it was yesterday. I remember watching silence of the lambs in the theater. And then of course i had to go to bed and sleep where i was certainly going to be murdered. Certainly and so at four. Am having not even shut. My little is for one second. I finally went in and got my sister. Lindsey who is three years younger than me and just drum her out of her bed and put her in my bed and wrap myself around her. Because i thought she could protect me from the you know the killers and the yeah the serial killers particularly so. Yeah a pay cut. So i'm never gonna see you in that in that thrills me because i would not watch rivet good and i would be sorry to not be able to support your work but i wouldn't do it so you having now this this incredible scope of work. I am really curious of all the the project she'd done including the environments that that filming that their directors your cast mates your your location that ethos of kind of the the set d half like a one of your favorite memories really record doing this. One project was like the most fun i've ever had. I loved my people. I love getting up in the morning. I loved how turned out. Do you have one of those kind of the north star experience. I've been so lucky. Had several. But i've had a couple of ryol and was definitely alias. And that's just j.j. abrams kind of in his prime stepping into the world into his role as director. He directed the pilot. It was the first kind of big thing he had. He directed and it was so incredible to watch him become a director. And i was talking about the other night. And just saying remember how you would just say jennifer. You need to go deeper you have to. You have to get their emotionally. And i would just be like okay. You know. just his his direct almost so powerful from me. And i know now that that wasn't unique to meet. That is something that he such a connected person that magic you know. It's so fun to to come across other people who've worked with them and to share that and from jj. I mean so many of my very closest friendships come from that show. And i you know as a work with the same dresser the seemed driver the steam stuntwoman is. She's one of my very closest friends the same so a see. It's this little family to people who have been. We've been travelling together through life for twenty years. And that's that's special. That's pretty dear. Victor garber and oh the whole cast. Were all still root still really close. We shared something. That was hard. It was hard to do that is special and probably rare. How long did alias go. It was five years only five years. It was just so intense. It was just like before they kind of got. Tb hours under control and before it back when it was any two episodes and we were just like totally. We're going to bowser the wall and then the other one would be thirteen going on thirty and that would really be. Because i discovered so much myself making that movie at that was really my relationship with gary whenever our director who died because of brain cancer a while ago and judy greer and mark ruffalo. I mean dream. Boats really truly and of course. Isn't it fun for you to see that. That movie has cemented. Its place in american. National treasure. archives is just such a favorite. It was really really fun to ring my daughter's long. Of course i saw originally and then the daughters brought them like well. Here's your new favorite movie. Get excited and it just keeps going. It has a real long shelf life which is on his own special. How does that yes fine to have little girls still be excited. He only neat neat because of thirteen going on. I mean what more can you ask for aero luck. That's like that has nothing to do with me. That's all gary just human cute angel up there and i'm so happy that experience. I'm so happy to share that with my girls too a. I never knew it'd be so happy to see crowds than i walked into an airport to catch a flight to may where i've been spending a few weeks this summer. Crowded is actually an understatement at the airports right now. You've baby. You've been back out there and seeing the same and while the lines and chaos aren't exactly the most fun. There's a reason <Speech_Male> that we <Speech_Male> like things on pincher <Speech_Male> so that we can go back <Speech_Male> to them later, <Speech_Male> it is just resourceful <Speech_Male> as <Speech_Male> opposed to having to search <Speech_Male> every single <Speech_Music_Male> talk. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Female> You're <Speech_Music_Female> the person that <Speech_Female> has pinterest out <Speech_Female> of the three of us. <Speech_Female> That's what I'm most concerned <Speech_Male> Kiefer. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> One hundred. So you know talking from their homes and it's just very loose and very of looks sort of like if you were trying to do something like this it would look about the same and it's just a very fun thing to look at your trying to kill some time in our long national period of urine boredom. And HAVE YOU CATHERINE. Well something to eat while while you're watching This these are the I know this. These things that came out of nowhere. I guess there from from Maryland or something but a- I think either my daughter or my husband I discovered these dots homestyle pretzels. On't yes which you know last week. Terry recommended Pretzel Pop tarts which I can now second So these they have a flavoring they it. It's not like it's not like honey mustard. It's not really ranch but it's not super spicy is just like this really nice. Savory flavor that comes on these these home style pretzels. They're like little twists and they're so good and then when I was in the store the other day I actually saw that they have candy bars with these things in is this. I did resist the urge to pick one up but that may change the next time. I brave the grocery store. Well this whole thing is excellent. Excuse for snacking. 'cause yes you know. You don't have to avoid that stuff under stressful situations such as this anything goes. Yes yes I should have. Just gone ahead thinking of ditching weight watchers membership but they are very trying times and you might need some pretzels to get yum. I will be looking those up now. Yes so along with your painting and your fun things to watch have some missiles and that'll do it for another week of parenting

Ben Affleck Speaks Out About His Divorce From Jennifer Garner
"Things have been athletes super candid interview with the New York Times. Jin Garner is again back in the headlines and there is this report that says Japan's man. John Miller is uncomfortable with all of this US weekly claims John is empathetic but worried about how Jennifer has once again became the focus. Now remember the interview been said. His biggest regret of his life was his divorce. So would you be comfortable? If you were Jen's man and the x was saying this stuff you had ninety days to figure out if you were about this life or not whether you date a man who doesn't have a job whether you data celebrity. Where do you date somebody? That's in reality. Tv those first three or your period to figure out what that person's lifelike and when he started dating her he knew what the Paparazzi was like. He knew what the press is going to be like and this man is from California. He understands that no matter what they do for the next twenty five years. They're always going to be linked together. Maybe have kids and be. That was the most significant relationship for both of them. So I almost don't believe this is one of those headlines. That definitely is not true. This is like an easy assumption to make but I do think him understanding that. That is her ex husband that they are very public couple when they were together and they share children is one thing but for him to still be speaking about her. I think is a different thing and I think no matter how much you love somebody. No matter how concrete your relationship is you wanna be with that person without their ex coming in and saying well the biggest mistake I ever made. Was you know not working things out with Max? That's a frustrating thing to have to get over. It is but I think of all the headlines that can be said about somebody. You're dating that's the most mild thing it's like. Oh she's great and amazing catch. Yeah I know thanks and I got her. So she's mine and they do keep it very private the two of them so maybe he doesn't really like the spotlight peacock that they're very close. I also don't agree that this headlines through You know it's there's any valid validity to this report but at the same time like you're right. It's part of his life her life. It's always gonNA happen. Ben Is Always GonNa come up in conversation and you do have to just kind of accept it. Luckily Jennifer Garner is. I don't even remember a bad headline about her heart. They like nothing bad comes out about her. And if there's that's whenever I think shit really hits. The Fan is whenever you're dating somebody and these rumors that are super bad or saying they stole or they did all these things. That's whenever it's harder it's harder you know. Friend DATES IS GROW. Who IS AN EXOTIC DANCER? And they met in the club and now he dates is girl and after seven months Yemen. You know I'm just trying to get her to quit her job and I'm like you can't do that to her like you met her there. She didn't start this career. When you guys were eighty and you know why she does it. She put yourself through college if she feels empowered. Let her life. Unless you'RE GONNA go ahead and pay for the UCLA and be Sallie Mae for that girl kit. Tell that person to walk out there even if you are even if you can't afford to take care of them completely. I don't know maybe she really enjoys dancing. Like you know I. I don't think that's fair to be like I can take care of. You don't need to work anymore no matter what your job is. Call me and let me take care of all your Sallie Mae Morgan Stewart. I know for a fact that you'd still work. That is very true. I would still work. You would still want. He's taking care of your true and so it's one of those things where like. Yeah thank you. That's a nice compliment. And it feels good the data man who can put you in that position or date a woman can put you in that position but if you still have the you know you want to accomplish things then don't ask me to quit my job. It's also that person has control over you then right and you no longer have your own income and one day you WanNa leave that person then you have to sort of go through a whole process that either gets you. It's just it's always better to have something of your own. Can I literally spend the card on whatever I want and I don't have to ask you for anything? 'cause that's GonNa have to be the stipulation cash cash. Put it somewhere else and let it. Hi. How validated Jennifer Gardner? Feel right now because a lot of times there was a lot of speculation. This person said this person's camp said this and you can't really tell your full story without doubting an addict and talking about the things that you went through so for him to now talk about some of the things that she experienced. She must feel like when Denise Richards finally was like Charlie Sheen. You're finally seeing Charlie G S. I had to deal with presidents and and that and tiger blood. It's like the sense of like. Wow this story finally came out. People don't think I'm just this poor helpless person just trying to be in love with this. This man yeah. Meanwhile I'm just trying to save his life because he's the father of my children.
Ben Affleck Says Divorce From Jennifer Garner Is His 'Biggest Regret'
"Truth Ben Affleck getting choked up talking about his divorce from Jennifer garner so he was on Good Morning America today and he also did an interview with The New York Times and he said I never thought I was going to get divorced I didn't want to get divorced I didn't want to be a divorced person I really didn't want to be a split family with my children and it upset me so much because it meant I wasn't who I thought I was and that was so painful and so disappointing in myself I'm sure he was opening up to the New York times about his relationship and its demise and how when things start to get hard in his marriage circa twenty fifteen twenty sixteen he then responded by deeply going deeper into drinking which of course made the problems worse right and then in twenty fifteen in June Ben Affleck and Jennifer garner called it quits after ten years of marriage they have a fourteen year old an eleven year old and a seven year old rather finalized in October of twenty eighteen but it's got to be hard to talk about all that stuff in public because not because of the issues itself but because it involves other people who are also in the public eye yeah and I'm you know like I just feel like that's gonna be awkward I mean I don't know what relationship they have now realistically but I think it's pretty positive or at least that's what they make it look like in the tabloid yeah they make it seem like that like they spend a lot of family time together and he kind of pops over he called the divorce the biggest regret of his life and has been really open with his about his battle with substance abuse he said divorce is very painful and alcoholism is very painful they just are and if there's something that your child is suffering that the level of pain that's not easily gotten past not easily forgiven not easily forgotten and it's hard you're not going to avoid causing your kids pain all pain pain is part of life I take some comfort in that you know I the the the article or the profile that that he has done recently where he's really talking through a lot of the stuff part of what makes this I think in deer is mean to him in the in his telling of his own story yeah is that there is a and there is a notion that he has an awareness of his part in it yeah I and I think I'd feel differently if he were putting things on other people but you really is telling his story from his very own perspective and I am hopeful that Jennifer garner has given her blessing on this I think it'll help people understand Ben Ben Affleck is better and she has moved on she's been dating John Miller this businessman and they've been dating for a couple of years now and insiders have been saying that he very much wants to marry her and wants to propose and she just can't be rush when that when you heard that right yeah because then it's like you've got the kids and I just don't understand and when you're very successful financially independent human beings and you already have a family or at least you have children you have to get married what what's the rush I mean it's different for everyone but you know I also think probably for her you know marriage means different things and you carry a lot of weight with what your last marriage was in her marriage was I am sure that being married to Ben Affleck was a ton of work that's what I'm saying to him my question was more to him like what's your hurry yeah yeah I don't know if she if she has one too you mean you saw the relationship yeah I think that's fine but I think it's just that's his intention that here really love to be married yeah you know some people really love to be married being married to something that's really

"Always in the media and they would always namedrop while Cambridge's P._G.. Around and so that gave us like this instant credibility in the industry and so we would go order these trade shows like natural products Anaheim or project Nahshon New York can't seafood and all these companies would write that we would be looking to invest in R. Learn about there'd be all we know you guys you guys are the food stirs investors you know so it gave us like credibility that we're player. Joe Flow right inside deals yeah right and other V._C.'s were in that deal so we'd started networking with them and they had deals and then our next deal after that was a little little company in San Diego in a garage call up on a farm and it was started by Ari and Cassandra so their the original founders and the office was actually in Cassandra's garage and the four hundred thousand sales they were in five hundred stores ars eighty five of those stores were target stores and target was doing a test of the company where they put refrigerated so it's fresh baby foods refrigerator baby food and target put in these coolers in eighty five tests stores to see if it would do well and the plan was if does well it'll go national target so over a seven month period after meeting them we kind of learned everything. There's no buy baby food and with other companies. Just were convinced that H._p.. High pressure pasteurization cold pressed food was going to be the next innovation and baby food to shelf stable just played out like there's hundreds of skews in the Ger so in January we funded the deal <hes> our initial investment was one and a half million and so that was January twenty third two thousand seventeen than January twenty fourth son seventeen the next day after we funded and so it was supposed to be the four million dollar round and we were a a big part of that and all these other investors were going to come in but the day after we funded they lost their target test so the buyer changed everything so now this company you know lost twenty percent of its stores and no upside for the huge national. Channel Roll out high overhead and burn they just and then at that time they hired a national sales team so they're Bernie went up to one hundred and fifty thousand a month so now we're looking okay we just invest one and a half million losing sales and the burn rate like you fast forward Lorde the tape ten months the music stops so we really stepped it up and we helped them finish up capital raise that round so we oversubscribed a four million dollar round by thirteen point eight million of capital. We could not even take in yeah in the meantime we were working on bringing in Jennifer Garner. It was actually between Jennifer Garner Natalie Portman and we weren't really sure which one <hes> but we ended up going with Jon and so these were you targeted these two or do they have already a reputation of being being like more quote unquote healthy or how did how did you pick those well jen definitely because she has her own garden and she has three kids that she would go and pick her own blueberries and do everything at home so there was just natural synergy and she loved the brand who is it's not just US coaching. She invested in the brand and later on came on hands on and Natalie. Portman is so we're Russian Jews and a lot of our limited partners are Jews and they're like Oh. Let's get them that Portman. She's Jewish. She does everything I think for us and we're like oh we'll try garner was a much better fit right and she's also involved with Save the children which is children's charity. Just there was a lot of Fitch who's going Ganic fit yeah so we we brought our in Cassandra and the deal degen her agent Nicole King and Jen fell in love with the brand she goes. I understand this. I understand H._p.. I understand cold press like I'm all about this have been presented many opportunities in the last two years yeah. This is something I can get behind like this works with my personal brand so she's like excited about it so we're like okay awesome so it goes to her business team for diligence and fever two weeks into diligence her business team calls and says there's zero chance to Jenner's Dune. This deal or conversations are over goodbye. Forget about it like there's no way no way the Gen is doing this deal so we're like Mike okay well. What's going on like well? You have five people in a garage in San Diego right as soon as Jennifer Garner says anything about this brand. Your website is GonNa Crash. You won't be able to fulfill orders. You're just you're not ready for Gen so our response to that was the lots true. We're not ready for gen today but we have this one year. ramp-up plan and these are the things were going to do to be ready for Gen so you know we signed the deal now general be actually doing doing anything until a year from now and so in order to sell them on this plan that you know we kind of knew what we're talking about. There's so once upon a farm prior to US investing the seed investors in the company were all industry executives so guys John Tucker who built the Annie's organics from nine million to four hundred million in sales was a personal investor in the deal Bob Craig from food should taste good. That's all for a couple of hundred million <hes> Jerry Bernard who ran godiva chocolates and Avon and Mondays and other great people so Megan Bantu's critic on the deal on so we were able to recruit John Tucker who's in northern California to fly down on from Davis to Beverly Hills to meet with Jennifer Garner and her people to basically say look. I'm an investor in this company in I'll advise them. I'll help them hire the right people and strategy and so John is actually so he's known known as the grandfather of the natural products and she because Anne's was the first. It's the biggest the most widespread some super success. He took it public and then after the I._P._O.. General Mills bought it so just a lot of credibility in the industry street and so if you're going to bet right if there's a meeting between Jennifer Garner John Rocker John Being a very well respected executive and CEO Jennifer Garner being an actress who'd be late to that meeting. I guess JEN typical. That's a nicer suggestions on time. John ends up being. It's supposed to be a one hour long meeting. He ends up being thirty minutes late not his fault he had car troubles was like literally like the car from the airport like the tire blew out so he shows up to this meeting late. He's in his purple shirt with the gold and he's writing with the bunny. His hair is this shoveled and Jen Garner jumps <music> out of her chair and runs up to him and says I am such a huge fan of yours which my kids grew up. Eating Annie's like what you did for the food and beverage is just incredible so she's a fan of his starstruck and he's on my daughter's. You know love thirteen going on thirty fans of your movies and this one hour long meeting. That's not halfway done turns into a four hour meeting in John in this meetings explaining like what it would take right to take once upon a farm from this very small startup with four million on the balance sheet but right what needs to be done to get it to that to the organizational sophistication that could accommodate like a huge celebrity brand and actually scale and grow and I think that as he's explaining anyone needs to get done he starts realizing he could do this yeah and so by the end of the meeting he was like you know what if you're in I'm in like he sold himself on gay and they just look at each other and they're like all right and then just a few days later he turned in his resignation general males and you know because he stayed on with Annie's <hes> we started on this adventure with both of them coming on to once upon a farm yeah and then he then he starts and his deal got signed pretty quick. The Gen deal still took quite some time as we learned that <hes> entertainment attorneys very difficult to do especially being in the organic baby food company at the time and we're dealing with like entertainment lawyers just completely like clashing on everything right but so he's takes the headcount from five people to twenty one people just starts making moves moves like just executing very confidently and we're on the board and other board members were looking at this and we're just like those as amaze making such confident moves in like like he knows exactly what he's doing. Well at this point only short-track under still one point five in the coffers. I mean we raised raised four million. I want to see where you're GONNA run out of money but he was spending a lot of run out of it pretty quickly now but this is the power of John Right so he's spending a lot of money right but so we're all wondering well. What are we going to do another round? WHO's GONNA come in? Is it going to take time to raise. He gets on a call. He's oversubscribed by one hundred fifty million dollars in forty five minute phone. Call Power Yeah So. That's you know he's on. I'm this company that was that was at the time less than a million in sales right yeah. He raised a ten million dollar convertible note at with a twenty five Million Dollar Valuation Cap so twenty five times revenue in forty three minutes with one hundred and fifty do you million of interest on the ten million dollar position. Everybody General Mills Campbell's like other big. V._C.'s other all submitted okay. It was an individual investors it was it was big. Turn them all yeah so we're where's that. Where's that company today so today so this year it's attracted about twenty five million yeah so you went from less than one to ten twenty five in the next year? The goals do over forty yeah and that's that's in two years right. Yes Okay and then the valuation went from when we did the deal like around like less than ten to it's already turned down. An offer for two hundred and fifty million is there. Are you allowed to say is there. Is there a magic number that you're that that that you shoot for and this is a is an ex of something at some point you if you can't don't but I think I think that's not it's at this point. It's not really our call right knowing John I mean he has experienced growing brand over a billion dollars so I wouldn't be surprised if it's we're hoping that exit ramp billion or more but who knows wow wow that's just a but that was a hands on deal so so these are these not all of them are like that right there. I was just going to go there so <hes> we only have a couple minutes. This this goes by so fast actually. Have you have so many more projects..

I mean, I don't she just she's she's an incredible actress, she's I know she's fun sized a number one number two. She doesn't look anything like the person. She is nothing like her. She's unrecognizable outside of that blonde. Wig. So weird. It's she's beautiful woman. But she's it. But it's it's totally this is the best disguise ever since. Jennifer garner put on a red wig alias have. I not been able to figure out what anybody is talking about it in past tense, though. She is so good. She is interesting. See what she does next but I'm super excited for this season. No. The rates are kind of pretty in their own way because plume of dragging this on the backs. Apple's March Event: a big new move into subscription software
"One thing that's of concern to me. You know, someone's gonna have to deal with afterwards is that people expect toys at apple events. They expect hot new cool. Awesome. New fund new toys, new new and apple has been putting out stuff all this week, maybe to chill expectations of having toys at the event, which means we may not have any toys. It might really just be services versus services, which w w d you can get away with because I o s and MAC OS. And what that all makes your existing toys better and people still grumble, they still grumble when there's no hardware. Eddie software show because sometimes there is so I just got a feeling yes. They'll be star power. They'll be Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer garner reportedly JiJi age Abrams, maybe. And all these people famous famous big stars. But I worry if there's no product purple iphone eleven we're going to deal with a whole bunch of people going in doomed

I feel like I'd always ends with that all of your thoughts end with. Thank god. I'm not saying God. I don't know if I want kale or celery smoothie thank God. I'm not saying that celery juice. I've been obsessed by you know, like this This is is just just. make your lawn. Like celery juices like the like the newest trend. I mean, it's a little too little too weak celery doesn't really have anything to though, you're wrong isn't the point of celery. Is that it actually it's the only food? You lose calories while eating as it. It takes more to digest it than it actually gives you skin and like isn't your liver. Isn't it kind of like bad eat like a lot of salary transfatty lot of any or in entire week and a half. I was drinking salary juice every single morning. My pants. It was insane. All these dysentery celebrities were promoting celery juice, and I was like, okay, cool. And you know, salmon, I really let's try it. You know? So we would buy like a stock of celery like one stock of celery makes a Cup of celery juice. It's wow. So we were drinking that it's pretty cheap.
