"I am going to cut on through to the interview with jennifer arthur. Ten of old chicks. No shit hybrid wine. Welcome to sandy kane attrition health and lifestyle queen today with me. I have jennifer arthurton and she is the founder and creator of all chicks. No shit and she has her own podcast as well as well as her own business where she really helps a lot of women out there. So welcome jennifer. Thank you so much for having me. Sandy i can't even remember how we exactly met hunt. We meet was. It was on instagram. Right i'm not going to be honest. i really don't know sick. Graham and i think i may be reached out to you because i loved the name of you and i'm like okay. A fellow woman podcast. I love it. And i believe it's quite successful. You've been doing this for a while right. Yeah the podcast is about eighteen months old. Okay that yeah yes and i also love what you stand for as well and that's why i this is i mean. Social media has a bad rap. Let's face facts it does. It has a bad rap. But i think there's so much good that comes out of it. Because how in the world would i ever met you. If it wasn't for that writer of soda so gritty connections. Yes so many start with telling us how you created old chicks no shit and you know how you started your business. Because i always love to hear everyone's story. Yeah so ultra. No shit really was a product of my own story so just to give you the kind of coles notes version of it I was a corporate executive in a major global organization for many many many years You know as a life of mom and everything and then know doing all the mom things and then just. Before my fiftieth birthday. I found myself. Divorced unemployed was like for my corporate job. I was an empty nester is my daughter had moved three hours away to go to school and i was suffering with a stress related illness. Basically as birds out. Friday to the point that i couldn't get out of bed most days so there i was at the age of fifty lying in my bed feeling so sorry for myself throwing a big old pity party about having to basically start my life over at fifty and there was this really pervasive narrative. Going through my head around. you know. i'm too old who who's going to ever want a fifty year old woman. I ever find another relationship when i ever find another job. Who wants a fifty year old woman because and that was in my head because that is a kind of cultural narrative about what it means to be an older woman so the prospect of starting over at the age of fifty for me. I felt like a completely daunting.

"Everyone welcome to ck nutrition health and lifestyle queen today with me. I have jennifer arthur. Ten of old chicks no shit. She has her own podcast. She has her own company where she coaches other women in midlife and beyond to really really be who they are. Authentically meant to be and we had a lovely conversation. Not gonna get into that. Because that's what the podcast is for. And you're gonna get to hear all of her amazing wisdom. And i think i'm going to settle on that word right here and talk a little bit about wisdom. I believe that once we reach midlife. It's not only about maturity it's also about the wisdom that we have gained for the last forty years fifty years sixty years and i believe that women often encounter a change in their life especially once they lose that ability to procreate so whether you've had children or haven't had children it doesn't matter women have that capability to create life and once that ability is gone a lot of things change in women and jennifer. I actually get into this and she has some fascinating insights into what happens with a woman when they reach midlife. And they're starting to slow down in terms of their hormones are hormones are changing and their lives must align with this change otherwise often we see women feeling lost women losing that vibrancy that they once had in their youth and nobody wants that. I don't want that. I'm fifty one and i wanna feel like i'm thirty five forever. I really do. However i want to have that wisdom which is something that most of us do gain as we reach midlife couple of announcements. Please do go and follow me. I am very active on instagram. At sandy cay nutrition or at sandy cay wellness. I have a lot going on in my stories at saint decay nutrition. So check it out there. I'm also on facebook. Sandy caney tricia and i have a page. I have private women's group of women over forty on my facebook.

"Pumped for today's episode. Because of last night's episodes the hills man they are really come at us hard with some good app xtss last night dude going down to s d getting turned up. Well i guess if you're spencer heidi your amber everyone else kind of was just chill anyways. I'm so excited about today's episode. Because i feel like we're getting alec. My favorite cast members on the show early. We had justin bobby last week. Who he's the shaman of the hills. He's the witch doctor of the hills. He's the pirate from parents. The care of the hills. He was amazing. We had jason on a couple of episodes go. I love him. Always one of my favorite people to interview and then of course we had. I wanna say the lead. I call sheet with adreno on episode one and then today so excited to have what i consider to be like the normal people on the show. Like everyone's kinda kooky but everyone's also kind of a normal at this point now in their mid thirties. But i do feel like frankie and jennifer arthur like the most even keeled. Normal people and i have a theory on that. The reason why we don't see a whole lot of them because they're just like normal people will frank. He's got like a normal job and they've got kids and it just there's anything wrong with being normal actually. There's something very right with being normal when it comes to the show looking for like the spencers in the heidi's getting turned up and the brody's of the world taking baths with brand new characters. But even though a lot of their scenes. I feel like are getting left on the cutting room floor. I know as a fan of the show that they are gold. I just need more of them. I want to know what's happening in their lives. Petition for frankie and jennifer to get their own television show so saying so you and the episode. today we're gonna have frankie delgado and jennifer acosta delgado on the show and then actually later. We're gonna have brandon from siesta key on last night's episode as well. It's all happening right here. On the hills. Cast wells casts. Yes to keep out. We just maybe. Just let's just get another name for the show idol. Hi.

"I understand that your mom used to be a hospice volunteer and she would sometimes tell you stories at the end the day about the regrets of the dying. What did she tell you jennifer. Yes so she actually still is. She's done kosh more than forty years of volunteering at hospice and so we grew up. I'm the oldest of two two other sisters and so we would grow up listening to stories of what people wish for in their last as a life. because we're a fun family and one of the things that we learned is is you know people wish for simple things like. I wish i didn't take myself so seriously. I wish i let myself laugh more. Which is remarkable. Because it's you know it's being expressed in one of the most serious meaningful moments of one's life. People wish that they had been more present. That they just savored the here and now and what we find with humor is that you're forced to be very present when you prioritize humor. You're listening for those call backs you're listening to those moments of truth that are being revealed and so it allows you to cultivate joy in a very present way and as we started this interview. Ill michael lewis really think captures the gist of what. We're trying to create and communicate when he says when humor exists. Love is not far behind. And there's few acts as easy generous assuring laughter with someone. So i think at the end of the day. The reason this work is so important is because it helps to encapsulate what's truly meaningful in life. "Think about the smartest person you know. Maybe it's your mom or a teacher now. Think about the most accomplished person you know it has to be someone you know personally. Not someone you've seen on tv. Maybe a friend who's scientist now. Think about the funniest person you know. When i do this i find. It takes me a moment. I a lot of smart people. I've talked to a lot of accomplished people on the show. But funny people not so much at the stanford business school behavioral scientists jennifer. Arthur has been asking a serious question. Why is humor in short supply in many of our lives. Jennifer arthur welcome to hidden brain. It's so nice to be here some years ago. Jennifer you're talking with a group of second graders and you ask them. Who is the funniest person you know. Can you describe the scene to me and tell me what they totally. I was in the classroom of my daughter s loan at the time. She was in second grade. So i was teaching a little module on power of story which i also teach at stanford business school i had. I'm finished the segment early. Because you know these second graders. They're pretty damn smart and so i decided to take the last five minutes of filler time and say who thinks they're funny. Everyone's hands shot up. Then i said who is the funniest person that you know. Everyone's hands shot up again. I called on all thirty. Twenty nine of them said their dad or brother. I was horrified. So i went home that night. And i talked to my family of three kids. Tap cooper devon my husband. Andy and i said can you believe that no twenty. One of thirty kids all said their dad or brother. Everyone looked down quietly. Not saying a word and i said excuse me and to ted chirped quietly. Yes dot is the funniest then comes us than our dog. And then you you will be behind the dog. I was decidedly behind the dog. Jennifer can laugh about it now but she also felt sad that she was seen as unfunny. Was that how people thought her she noticed. of course the gender differences. The men were seen as funny. The women left so why was that as she started to think about humor as a topic of research she also stumbled on something else. The polling company gallup found that when it came to humor and laughter something was happening to both men and women around the world starting around age. Twenty three we lose our sense of humor. We.

Did I love well? I remember sitting there and thinking really and then I thought about her and then I thought about in both ways that she had answered affirmatively to those questions and the reason I brought up this entire long story was because Princess Diana was the first public person to touch an AIDS patient. If you remember she went to a clinic and she reached her hand and she touched a leg of a man. I remember that moment because it was advertisement. We didn't know and all of the fear. Mongering about the AIDS epidemic was telling us what was going to make us sick and here she was reaching out and I remember that moment as this transformative moment for the world this woman reached out and touched someone and that in answer to your question is what I'm concerned about is that we will somehow equate human touch with illness and fat would be a tragedy. Beautiful Jamie let me ask you one final question. What are you doing or reading or thinking about these days? That's bringing you any kind of solace or comfort what brings me real solace is seeing how people like yourself. Top of the list have shaped shifted have answered the need through a different action. My Friends Hawn's and Patty Rock and Wagner have gone from being restaurant tours to purveyors have offered all of the restaurant deliveries of vegetables and foods and foodstuffs which we're going to rot because nobody was buying them and they figured out a way to sort of flip it and reverse it to missy Elliott here on your podcast my oldest sister Jennifer Arthur lives in In a community where there are a lot of nurses and she just adopted them and said I am going to adopt five nurses and their families and she delivers food stuffs and this is a hard working single mom who works her ass off in her job and here. They have gotten very concerned about us. Because we're old and a little militant about it which I really accept and appreciate that gives me solace and then lastly I'm a doer. So here's my offering and I'm going to take advantage of this in any written form to anybody when I'm communicating at the end of it. I say my hand in yours which is to say you're not alone. My hand is in your hand if you're going to the doctor if somebody's having a medical procedure if I'm not there if they're going through a hard day I say my hand in yours. The one thing that occurred during this is I was sitting in my little chair and I thought you know what I can offer palliative comfort words from my own mind in a small way and that morning. It feels like offering and I think that's. What we do now you know what we do is dig deep. Chop Wood carry water. Dig Deep but also like the quotidian part of life. The thing that is the same anywhere in the universe is. The beautiful thing that we're doing that's right. which is elemental elemental. My dear Watson. Jamie, thank you so much for. Hero I love you Jamie Curtis and this was love you Danny Shapiro I. Think Hugh and Michael Jakup. Thank you and. God, bless you all and my hand in yours lie. Hand in yours until we meet again. Okay.

"It is six how do you do what's going on we have a federation of listeners here that are eager to find out what in the world is going on in these values universe in which we live it is a fabulous it really is is a fabulous universe when people like Jennifer horn whose birthday is today by the way he Hey Abby road yeah have you read so we celebrated what fourteen fifteen birthdays together on the year fifty is two thousand and six two thousand six at fourteen you're just a mere child although I started in March so it maybe we are thirteen to be accurate yes okay all right well it's not just the marsh here's your guide the marchers marching in here the the day is not to be realized because it's Jennifer birthday I think she's only under four years old right Hey I remember correctly I did I was riding like twenty seven wow just a year younger than you right there one eight this year I'm older than you know all I know I never it's really weird I was thinking about it last night as I was driving home and it's a enjoy this kera it seems a knowing your twenties are always kind of annoying but I know old people say this you all the time enjoy it because there's a I don't know where the time went in my mind I just graduated from high school like I have no idea where the last twenty thirty years of about twenty years twenty five years of god it's crazy it's crazy how it was like time flies that's like sometimes I feel the same way zero is it's like the Dorothy Parker saying the days are long but the years fly by this is true Hey it's only one back injury I was looking at these girls in the nail salon because I got my nails and I snuck away last night it before I went home and got my nails and for my birthday and you and Carol Carol any other face down so you're all I should I should have actually focused on the face not the fingers but I it did the manicure and as I was sitting in the salon I was listening to these girls talk and I was like thinking about I'm like these people are no longer my contemporaries like I could be their mother or their just very weird it's just a weird thing when that sings and so I got a note Jeff that you were looking for a pick up truck for your birthday I'm sorry what yeah and these you have thinking about what you would like to have your birthday I guess the pick up right yes right to get rid of yeah what is that yeah get on the line why not imagine the neighborhood that one for my birthday I. want Lessing's IT I want health and happiness for the people that I love good for you and your cell less worry more fine how about that it sounds like the target what is that are you going to say yes that can happen right yeah yeah Gwen Stefani well I am so jealous all I know well you've been holding out on us well it was a surprise I didn't know okay cool that's amazing that's so good going tomorrow yeah and then at the show last Saturday right Saturday is to show your father thing down on the on the lunch was and tomorrow he's not going to the show but he I think that on a large all right Jennifer Arthur curry queue and not her birthday carousel in on her birthday next event not my birthday but the important thing is it's Jan's birthday and a lot of when I got an acquittal for my birthday manager right all right so that's the end of that Mitt Romney you know the thing about this that really I think it has become sort of obvious to me is that this is over over over and over and I think everybody should just move on the back and forth you know what would you expect from from it cetera etcetera the round about where we are politically though because it something you're tainted me yesterday just one I am many things okay so what Mitt Romney comes out and makes his announcement that he is going to vote to prosecute the president not a quote I'm I'm one of the council on one one abuse of power right okay so it's such a typical reaction the rate starts crucifying that rob me and saying he L. U. biz and Democrat in on it the whole time a mole blah blah and then at the last two called mit Romney in twenty twelve a racist and sexist and said he doesn't understand how to talk to black people in a binder filled with women are now holding a mop like he's the second coming of Christ it's gross it's enough and it you know everybody was like asking for a motion yesterday and you know that the truth is it didn't surprise me that Mitt Romney voted in this way for two reasons we were told me because my birthday because I think broadly about politics and where we are first met Rodney has disappointed me millions of times is a Republican when he was running for president he just appointees this doesn't surprise me that he would disappoint me again that being said he kept talking about being a partial in his in his reasoning for this and how he is sworn oath to be an impartial juror and that got me thinking about any of us and it got me thinking about my relationship with you victory my relationship with Brian at people that I do radio shows that I work with that I respect a lot at that have different points of view that I DO one Brian read the transcript between trump insulin ski he was already predisposed to say that the transcript because it's always bothered me that that two people who can read a transcript can read it so differently and it not just actually agree on a set of facts and so Brian's reading it from the perspective that he believes the president is capable of doing horrible things because he doesn't think that the president's a good person and so he thinks the president trump was talking about the twenty twenty election looking at hunter Biden when I read it and I swear to you this is not like posturing at all when I read it I hear the president saying Hey we have been through a lot and he's looking backwards at the corruption that existed in twenty sixteen and that's because I'm predisposed to believe that the president isn't a terrible person and that he is capable of doing good in the right thing so when that Romney was talking about being impartial I think whether we're serving a jury or whether we're serving in the United States Senate it is totally impossible for us to ever be impartial because we all come from somewhere and we all have a predisposed something to someone and we all have a thought about something that has happened in our lives that's number one and what happens on every jury though and that's what I'm saying when you go to it whether you're on jury duty you mark being everybody in court right your you walk in with your own file and experiences and influences and it's yeah it's it's tough to I mean it's so it happens every time and every just think it's a it's a lie I was amazed at how was totally impartially other thing that kind of bothered me and everything with the rom is I'm not taking apart as a person I fundamentally disagree with what he did and this is why in this country we are innocent until proven guilty of what Mitt Romney said yesterday's that he wanted to call witnesses said that the president could prove his innocence that is not how things work the house managers needed to prove their case beyond a shadow of a doubt to Mitt Romney they obviously did the huts and that's what otherwise he would have been looking for the president to prove his innocence so at mit Romney I think was already politically predispose whether he means it or not whether he realizes that in his brain or is harder is got I don't know but I think it those are two really big things that we need to consider what were at least either skewering him or putting a halo on his head yeah well he also his father with his father crossed party lines and voted to remove Nixon too so maybe he was just keeping up a family tradition no no no so the the idea of not only that the coverages becomes it's just such nonsense and CNN always predictable the the headline was that the trouble is acquitted but that run the vote against and that was the that's the CNN approach loud screaming so it Romney is with Chris Wallace of this Sunday is that right what's the yes although there the interview in its entirety yesterday which is what I was referring to to make those two points because I watch the whole thing not okay and then of course Chuck Schumer and Adam Schiff and all the rest of me couldn't wait to get to a microphone and talk about what a horrible reality this is the end of America is around the corner because of whatever it is that went on and we won't have to go we as people it doesn't matter where you are but hopefully we won't have to go through this again I want to tell you in our lifetime if if they the visit as dumb as they are the debit democratic leadership if if trouble comes up with something else this girl this is let's say he is reelected or even some they'll bring impeachment charges against again you wait and see they'll try something because they are that dumb I don't think they've already said that they well they said the investigation is going to continue Jerry Nadler said yesterday down can you go can you investigate beyond an acquittal of we've we've already gone through it what else is there I mean I'm sure there's something else they're not like the criminal system they're good they could do it again on the exact same thing there's no double jeopardy okay Larry a very big mistake I would have thought coming from a Democrat that would be a very big mistake for every for me all station in the state it's been been a John Bolton they're going to bring a man that they're going to try to bring in other witnesses I it's not going to end it's the new normal I think thanks is it is all right so I wanted to spend a moment or two on the corona virus the ship that has been brought in would you say is a thirty seven out of passengers crew members are there under okay we can damage and how are all that is there Xander said doc on a floating incubator basically this point so if it is it is it is gross is you can I mean crochet observes gross enough but thank you for that yeah it's a there are a lot of circumstances like me on a bus now we did talk about the guy that gets shot on the bus the other day but buses alike airplanes they'll clean really anymore when I was in the bus business back in the seventies and eighties at the expense of really the over the road cruisers we would go through at least once a week and scrub inside not they don't do that anymore is drive in suite mountain okay it loaded up let's go next and everything all public transportation trains make any difference what you're in their filthy filthy filthy you can tell look at the trains that are used for commuter rail and most big cities have a suburban train yeah that's a Louis eyes every day yeah exactly and I'll bet you he could find unbelievable crap on the street on the street just on their gross is feeling the what a I did or not yeah right they are filthy I don't know let him take his shoes off and Eric keep issues on anymore in the apartment because it's just you're just tracking and so much tomorrow Sionis yeah all right so anyway there ten people on the ship that have been diagnosed with the virus the more I look at this the more it's similar to all kinds of other flus except it's a little more it's it's it is it grabs hold of there's something in it that has more sustenance than does the regular flu but he goes through its cycle and people are out of it but there are more more people who are getting it so it's it is much more of a viral virus and then the regular flu there's a new online baby that has it too now let's hope that the new system in your leisure have a good time to get to two or three year muse system is in pretty good shape but until then if you're depending on what you know mother's milk and things like that what's the normal age too which was thinking with my chores like eighteen months.

"Hello welcome to it's quicker to my name is hamid and i'm here with the very latest episode of this podcast. Bust week has been all about world test championship which we had discussed for many of our listeners who had asked us questions about world test championship kinship v have had created a very detailed episode about de pointing system for example one listener astor's a question in which was schillinger after winning just one test got sixty points while australia even after winning when maj and even a draw would not even breath at sixty so all the reasons behind that and everything else we have coveted in dead very of detailed episode so oh please do check out that episode so let's discuss all the matches <hes> that are going on right now. Currently there are three matches of with respect to world test championship that are ongoing. <hes> between i is ashes of goes then there is india's tour of west indies indies and then there is of goes news in store of sri lanka. I up the heart england was his ashes england. Was australia australia as excuse me. This is the desmet three out of the five test matches which had been planned first match was won by australia second match was a draw and now as as of now the four is going on of this this match and addie lunch break australia. Sorry england are two hundred and thirty eight four four. So how did this match go about. I up australia batted first and scored one hundred and seventy nine runs which as that women seemed very self bar score <hes> good innings from david warner who had had consecutive failures in the previous test matches they can isn't <unk> achikzad benign night marcus labuschagne knee seventy four and spina. He has been a good fine for them. Of course he was their top scorer in the domestic sheffield shield but uh-huh performing on such a big stage <hes> is another study. He remember to just to remind you guys. He is our our if placement for stephen smith who was injured due to a good bouncer from archer during the second test match he had a he has put suffered from concussion due to which he is out from this this match it'll be interesting to see who the places in the fourth match so bellini's dahran exo who sworn seventy-nine excuse me one seventy nine hundred code but despite to bullying jennifer arthur managed to grab six wickets <hes> it was a big announcement announcement on named the national stage by jove ushered in the test match ended s match arena england while replying had the eligible terrible ebel performance body cut up almost like you seem to be so chattanooga discord only sixty seven runs this was divorced performance and the lowest scores sins in ashes in since nineteen forty eight imagine of the irony of this imagine the sadness of this the highest gooder was jordan lee register wellens bucking it'll igam phone number one for example rubinstein jason roy nine giorgio to kick up don's zito aben stokes eight four five and five so that was a very disastrous performance and at this point the almost almost countered inland out but then this is ashes. You know you can never <hes> this is all filled with drama came to bed. During the second innings they scored two hundred forty six runs again. The title performance was from marcus labuschagne off eight hundred runs. I'm excited to what machine plead smith admit because these two guys are are looks to lose to me that these two are the best players right now in terms of batting for australia and mandy. These guys split together. It will be very exciting england in reply today. Now as i said earlier are two hundred and thirty eight for four the start art didn't look that promising as england. Lou lost their first two wickets very early. On fifteen for two was the school and at that moment we all all were thinking like i it's it's done and dusted for england but then some good betting from ju- route escorting seventy seven of two hundred and five deliveries while jordan scored fifty of one fifty five brought them back and adi lunch on day four ben stokes is not out on thirty two welsh and best to it's not out on.

australia david warner england marcus labuschagne stephen smith jordan lee west indies hamid astor ben stokes india sheffield sri lanka Lou addie jason roy jennifer arthur don

"Jack style fall into the abyss. Because it's also illustrative of the fact that Michael Fassbinder did nothing to succeed. It's a happy accident just serve if you love is just lucky. He's like your father, you you should have been mad at you father. And he's like, oh, you're going to get it. What I spend our should die on everybody should die. I should've looked to camera after that guy died. I just looked at us like just lucky, I guess. That's a line at the end of every. Every movie he does terrible jobs. Multiple people get killed on his watch. And he's like, oops, e Magoo ksi. That's I guess I did it again me and my giant dick didn't solve the case. We didn't stop the case. But the. Twice always getting dry. All right. So what are you one last the Rebecca Ferguson so originally supposed to be Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence O and Norwegian actor. And I believe the reason why the Rebecca eventually became the Rebecca Ferguson character was murdered was to allow Jennifer Lawrence and out in the the franchise. She didn't want to do and other franchise. No. Then my only final question is they didn't change it where they knew wasn't gonna be Jennifer Arthur, like story actress who sometimes gets work, but by the way. Like Bill it keep her alive and make them both myths fingers, and then there's. Oh. Did these twins? Yeah. Like touch stumps. Did..
