"Comedian and actor Adam Sandler accepted the Mark Twain prize for American humor in Washington at the Kennedy Center on Sunday. I'm Archie's are a letter with the latest. Adam Sandler has a tendency to cast his friends in his movies as those friends pointed out multiple times. Conan O'Brien joked so many of Sandler's Friends were there to pay tribute because when Sandler is not working, they are not working. She was talking about how she just kicked the habit. Now when you read a headline like that, you're like, drugs, alcohol? No, actually a sleeping habit. She's been sleepwalking and kind of interesting where it's like you hear about people's sleepwalking, you don't want to wake them up. But feisty Jennifer Aniston walking around and I try to wait, I'm gonna wake her up like Jennifer Aniston, wake up. But now she said she has that under control. She has another sleeping problem. Insomnia. But you can't fall asleep. So when she falls asleep, she gets up and she walks out the window. She's exhausted. Oh, exactly. I would be just tired. She said she's dealt with this for years and even decades too. With many of sleep problems, you know, and it comes with sleep anxiety. She was literally down to counting the cracks on the walls. I count numbers. Like I try to count as far as I can. And then once I hit a thousand, I'm like, this is not working. I gotta go. So she said it started probably around her 30s too, and she's been trying to battle it ever since. And it's kind of interesting. And just like any problem, once you realize that you have a situation and you try to take care of it. But she said because she was younger, she thought she was invincible just like any of us. Where it was like, I could do this. It's fine. But I'm not tired. I'm just a little tired, but actually it was the fact that she couldn't fall asleep. She was having insomnia issues of falling asleep, and once she did fall asleep, she would wake back up because of anxiety and end up sleepwalking too, so, you know, she says she has it under control now, which is interesting. And it's one of those things too, where it's like, hey, she is normal. Yeah. But she's like, we think we know she deals with everything about her. It's amazing. I love a winner celebrity tells us something we really didn't know. This is quite big. How do you sleep Garrett? You're a good sleeper, or do you get anxiety? Do you get insomnia? Where are you? So I'm watching it and hear the commercial comes on. And I said to myself, stop looking at Jennifer Aniston and pay attention to what the product is. And it's a product called vital proteins, collagen, peptides, and you see Jennifer kind of stirred into a teacup or whatever. And she says, let's start on the inside. And so I thought, I don't know what that is. I don't know what it does. But I'm going to find out because Jennifer Aniston is using it. The New Year Provides an Opportunity to Reflect and Look Forward
"What I do think the year end does is provide an opportunity to look back and to look forward. It provides an opportunity to say where am I right now. It's sort of a built in halftime, if you would, into life, each and every year, in which you can maybe hopefully take one, maybe two days or maybe if it's an hour. Maybe you're busy parent. You got four kids running around. I remember when all of our kids were young, we would go to the bathroom to have a break. I get it. But maybe take an hour, take a couple hours, maybe stay up a little bit later or get up a little bit earlier and say, okay, here's what's happened in this last year and for a lot of us the last couple years have been just draining COVID, the elections, everything has just been taking it out. And look, I get the those concerns. I've been there myself. Last few years from my in my family, extremely hectic. But I also feel really blessed to be where we're at right now. And I think that's what I want us to focus on here for just a minute. Jennifer Aniston had a great quote. She said, don't make plans, Mike options. And I can't think of a better way to put this in looking at the start of a new year. Instead though, I would translate that just a little bit different. My plans, but have options. Make plans but have options. Because if you don't have a plan, if you don't have a target, you're not going to ever get to where you're going. It only takes a desire to start something. You got to have a commitment to continue it. So as you start, we end out this year and as we look ahead to the new year, I know a lot of people are talking about the elections and a lot of people are getting excited from saying, hey, we can turn this around the house, turn it around in the Senate. But the question I have for you is is yes, from a political perspective, I think conservatives will get a great opportunity to that. But what are you going to do? What are you going to do, not only addition to the Doug Collins podcast, but other podcasts out there are other ways that you're going to improve yourself. Because at the end of the day, it's about this about what you're doing in your life and those that are around you that matter the most. And I think I want to just emphasize for just a minute before I got into something special for you. It's just to say take the time at the end of the year before the beginning of the new to realize it look the only thing that really changes is the date. But what studies constant is you. What stays constant is your determination to either get better improve, learn, grow to quit listening to the doubt or listening to the haters, quit listening to everyone else, or are you going to just continue in a path and saying, I'll just let life, I'll just deal with life as it

What the noise don't see is we do these over Zoom each morning, or at least we see each other over a zoom, we record over a different method, but whenever we do the molecule, the only co host that comes dressed. Like in my pajamas, I clearly have not brushed my hair or had a shower. I did brush my teeth. But Mark, you could go out for a night on the town, you look marvelous. You know what I have to say, rob, I feel like I do my best work when I'm dressed and I feel like I'm prepared for anything. I like that. So what you look like on the outside really does affect how you feel and how you do your job. We should talk about that because last night I went to noma the museum of modern art because it was the Sex and the City premiere and talk about looking good, Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica, probably got out of her car with her son, who we never ever see. Matthew, who we never ever see, and they walk the carpet like a family. The three of them Mark. I thought it was really, really lovely. I didn't see the new shower, but I did see the red carpets. You'll see pictures today of Sarah. She was very clever. Remember that two two that was really the most famous costume in the whole of the series. It was under her and the opening credits when the bus drove past. She's wearing a blue dress and under the dress is the two two. Oh my gosh. It's really adorable. Hey, let's jump into the sharks. We've got so much to get to. What time is it, my Friends? It is a tea time. Jennifer Aniston is doing this massive interview. I've never seen her this honest, it's with The Hollywood Reporter, and she said that her mom gave her an example of what she never wanted to be. She dissects everything about her public life and she said that her her life her real life has really been consumed all the pregnancy rumors, all the rumors about her different marriages getting back with Brad, and she said, basically, you have no clue what's going on with me personally or mentally. And when people ask her about kids, she said something really interesting. She said, maybe I can't have kids maybe. You just don't know. And it's really hurtful and a nasty thing to say. I thought that was so interesting Mark because we assume so many things about different people, particularly celebrities. It never crossed my mind that maybe Jen doesn't want kids, or maybe she can't have them. Bombshell. Bombshell, you know, Robert's a great point. We kind of push our expectations onto Jen. Like, oh, it would be a great mom. But yeah, maybe she doesn't want to be a mom or maybe she just can't have kids right now or she doesn't feel like she's ready. And yeah, it's unfair to her. It's for us to ask those questions. To think about it. Projecting your feelings is exactly what she said about this. And she said, she's sort of got used to it. She said her life for entire life has been dissected for public consumption. She was asked how she navigates the whole narrative about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and she said that she tries to stay positive and she surrounds herself actually with positive people. She has amazing Friends, she did say to she learned what not to do from her late mother. Oh, she said quote, I know that this person was giving me an example of what I'd never want to be. She said that she doesn't want to get twisted or bitter or angrier about this and the tabloids yes are they annoying, but she said now it's moved on and the tabloids don't do it as much anymore, but social media has replaced them so now it's social media that is trolling everybody. She's scuffs at the long-standing pregnancy rumors and she defends her decision to remain single. It's a remarkable interview. It's the cover story. If they're happy, I'm happy. Which is fair. He also said Pete, who is 28 and Kim, who is 41, we know they've been on several dates. And he said, listen, Pete is a good dude. He's a talented boy, and I think he's just very down to earth and grounded, and that's very appealing to people when you can keep it real with somebody and ride the roller coaster that's special. I like that. I like it too, rob, but I think it's fair. And before we get ahead of ourselves, the story. I do want to point out that during Kim's acceptance speech at the People's Choice Awards this week for which she was given the fashion eye kind of word Kim gave Kanye a strange husband of course. A very special shout out. She said, thank you to Kanye for really even introducing me to the fashion world. Anymore, does she maybe she does? I think she's keeping Kanye happy because we know when Kanye is not happy, he goes bananas. This is interesting, isn't it? What do we really know about the people we work with? So Kenan Thompson has been on SNL, I think longer than anybody, however, the show's on how I ate us now. It doesn't come back until the New York. Do you stay in touch with people you work with over the holidays? If you've taken a couple of weeks off, do you? I'm quite good actually Mark knowing the difference between a real friend and a colleague. And it's not that I ignore my colleagues, but were good work colleagues and we text every so often, but I have a separate group of like really close pedals. What about you? Do you mix both worlds? I used to mix them a lot and I think that became more complicated for me. It made me distracted. And I think as I've gotten older, I you said rob, I know the difference, and I make that very clear. And I need to break from these people. I see them every day. I'll see you in two weeks. Yeah, I find my job, my work, particularly doing what I do is so much easier. It's so much clearer if I'm not best friends with them. So a lot of people want to hang out with celebrities or be friends with them and go for drinks with them. I find that only problematic. I just want to talk to you when I've got some gos, or if there's something to write about, I'll be nice to you if I see you out. I love to say hello, but I don't want to go for dinner with one of the housewives. It's just not my thing. I love talking to them. I love texting them. I love getting gossip, but then it gets more complicated, and I don't think that's just about the housewives. I've seen this too in real life in people in the office or people I work with. I want to be work colleagues. I don't miss a really want to be best friends. Is that terrible? You know what's funny, rob that what makes me laugh is that you are someone who is always working though. Even when we think we're out having fun and not working, you are like if you always ticket to our friend Valerie's housewarming party a couple of weeks ago and somebody was there a designer who said something and Valerie said I was like Scooby-Doo.
