"Excuse me. And anyway, but yeah, no, I know, they did. And the thing about Miami and I agreed because of how they played at the end of the season, you want to be playing your best basketball at the end. And Katie Meyer had them prepared and ready to do what they did in the ACC tournament and get to that championship game and get a great seed into the tournament and really play South Carolina tough for sure, for sure. And they had so many close games. I mean, they had, I think, Miami had, they were 21 and 13. I believe. And then Georgia Tech 21 and 11. So I mean, two teams said we're kind of right in the middle of the pack with the ACC, but really made strong statements throughout the season, had some great wins. But I think she always knows with her experience as a coach, right? She knows how to prepare her teams well and she has great continuity with her group in terms of expectations moving through the conference. So I think that's going to be fun. And that's my sleeper team, the Georgia trick, yellow jackets. Yeah, I'm just a little concerned about their defense without goodbye. They relied a lot on her. And they rely on all our offensively. But they bring in camp swords from Boston college. Who was one of my favorite players in the conference last year. Yeah, she's a pocket. She has no fears. She's just one of those players who can really get into space and hit shots. And I think that's kind of what George technique, you saw their performance in the ACC tournament. And it was really kind of lackluster offensively, especially when they didn't have kuby. And so to come back with some more scoring talent and some new pieces to, like, you're saying the continuity that Nell fortner has. I agree. They're on the list too. I like this whole conference. Obviously, this is a conference I've most pay attention to. So a lot of the teams here. But I like fuller state. I mean, they bring in jazz and massac ill. They're a pretty good team last year. Brooke wyckoff was actually on dice it up. And like last week, she takes over for real. This year and that'll be interesting. They also bring in Taylor O'Brien. My girlfriend bucknell in the patent league coming on down to for state. And then another pat league ACC arrival is at wake forest, their coach Megan jebe is actually coming from American two way force to take over for Jen Hoover. And they have jewel spear and Jules spears are really good player too. So there's just a lot of teams down ballot that have a lot of interesting things going on and I think is going to be a really make for a really interesting conference. I didn't even mention to duke's coach hair loss and has a ton of great recruits on roster. They're gonna put it together someday. It may be this year and they may sneak into that top 5. So just like, that's why I think this conference this year to me is the most interesting because there is that kind of solidified top 5, but there's a lot of space for these other teams to get into the mix. Right. And I really think, I mean, we were talking about other teams getting into the mix and new coaches and new places. I mean, you have to look at Virginia as well with the maka Google. She's there, Virginia, only won two conference games last year. Tough. Only 5 games overall. So this is a team that is looking to make a move. So I mean, I know we're talking about sleep routines, and I know I said George attack, but I'm not counting out Virginia this year. With a marker would go down there and how she's going to change what that program looks like coming into this year. And they also got the Notre-Dame transfer, yeah. I forgot who they got. No. That's my girl too. I apologize. Oh my gosh. This is San brunel. Yes, Sammy. Yeah. Okay. I'll try and think of who left Notre-Dame. Yeah, Sam bran, sorry, Sam. But she's a DMV, so I know her, so that wasn't don't blame it on my heart, blame it on the head. It was just so you know, I had a drink a little more poppy. But I think she's going to make a big difference for them as well. I mean, they're going to have a go to player that can score a three levels. But I also think that America has such good experience. I mean, she was associate head coach at Michigan state for years. And then went on and did some great things at SMU. So I think it's going to be fun to watch. And let's just round it out Syracuse, bring in Felicia like a Jack from buffalo. And they're bringing in. The second best, maybe the best, I don't know, it depends how you want to find this deja vu is coming over from buffalo to Syracuse playing big Tom college basketball after an amazing career at buffalo bringing over some friends to onto the team. It is going to be interesting. I don't think Syracuse can be there this year. You need some time to build a culture and all that. But I think that could be really good and saving Virginia, you know? One year turnarounds happen a lot quicker now, right? I mean, we're having a lot more often. There's different things you can do to kind of immediately make your team better. So Syracuse, Virginia, hoping that happens for them, and then I just love this conference. I will discuss conference. I'm so excited. And I hope I'm hoping to get down to the tournament yet again this year. Back in Greensboro. Although did I tell you they're moving the headquarters to Charlotte or did we talk about this yet? I don't think we talked about it, but I did see that. Yeah. It should be in Greensboro, Greensboro is a lovely town. Green sprinkles a lovely town. And they deserve the ACC there. Okay, so it was sleep routines. So we mentioned all of them, all of the potential sleeper teams in this conference. Sorry, sorry Pittsburgh and Clemson. But you guys can prove it was wrong. This one. Yeah. Let's see. All right, and then now we're down to the bottom here. Who wins the ACC? I've already said it. I'm a stick to it 'cause I kinda talk myself into both Notre-Dame and North Carolina as we were talking. And Louisville, and I didn't talk myself in Nancy state by easily, could. But I'm gonna stick with it. Virginia tech's winning the radio, she's an ACC crown. Who are you picking?

"I think 28% of players that transferred that's wrong. It was D two D two players didn't end up at a at a D one school. But I did look it up, I believe it is 43% of transfers at the D one level don't end up in another D one institution. So that's 43% of players. That rough count just from the stuff that we know obviously we all have access to the entire transfer approval. But, you know, it's like cautionary tales and I hope schools are making sure that players are aware of it. They should be in a bad situation for you, but just know like, I think Jeff wall said it like, hey, the grass is the grass always looks greener because fertilizer BS. It's hilarious if Jeff falls who has benefited so much from the transfer portal that we say that, but I think the point kind of stance wait, repeat it again, repeat it again. The grass, the grass looks greener on the other side because it's fertilized with BS. Even use BS, you said the whole thing. Oh, of course. As you know, if you're just trying to make because I talked kind of over the last part of it, so I wanted to have it clearly stated. So that's interesting. Folks, self censor, which we love here. Speaking of transfers, let's talk about coaching transfers. As I like to call them. Yeah. Carly Tebow dodon is obviously a favorite of this podcast due to all your mystic size. She ends up getting her first head coaching job at Fairfield. And Fairfield just won the MAC correct this year. They did. They did. So she's coming into a good program. Getting a good chance. So I just want to shout out to Carly forgetting her first job. Yeah. I am so excited for her. And Nancy was up there, Nancy T Bo, and Eric and Mike were at the mystics training camp, and I know they're going to be making that trip up there. Wearing their red Fairfield stuff. So it's really fun. It's forgive me, guys. I'm not from the northeast. Where is Fairfield? Is it in Connecticut? I believe so, yeah. Okay, cool. I did not know that. It's in Fairfield, Connecticut. Does that make sense? There you go. I don't think I've ever been to Connecticut for as much as we talk about Connecticut. Maybe I'll go up there. It's like in the beach. Whatever. That's cool, man. I know where it was. When you go up there. Huh? Yeah, right. I'm so wrong, you know, hang out. I do think I'm wrong. I don't think Fairfield will in the MAC. I thought they did. I think that they did. They did. They went 19 one. Okay. So they did. 19 a month. And they were in the tournament. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Because on the men's side, I would say Peter, you won. Yes. And made that big run, yeah. So, sorry about the confusion there. Shouts to Carly. Also, obviously, if we're not, if I'm not talking about Miami, I'm talking about William and Mary. Aaron Dickerson Davis is the new one's basketball head coach at William and Mary. Yes. Seems like a great hire. You know more about her, so I want to get your take on her, but she's a northwestern grad, played at northwestern, spend time with Taos in Georgetown, most recently I wake forest. All those schools really make sense with William Mary, which is a very academic first school art, every school is academic first. But William Mary is like, the classroom is way more important than the court. And I think she can handle that if you've been at Georgetown and wake forest certainly. And she can help bring in recruits from this area. So I'm excited for it as a William Mary alum. Now I love her. And I think she has a tremendous opportunity there at William and Mary. She was at Georgetown when my daughter was being recruited by Georgetown. So she was on staff there. So we spent a lot of time talking to her and being on campus with her and she was just amazing. So when she went to wake forest, I know Jen Hoover very well. We played against each other in college. And so for her to go down there with Jen, I thought was really special. But now for her to be first year head coach, I'm super excited for her and congrats. That's going to be fun. It's going to be fun for you as an alum to get down there. I'm going to try to go to a lot of schools around here. But yeah, I'm definitely going to definitely go back to William and Mary. So yeah, shout out to her. I think there's a ton of other news that we can always get to. There's a ton of stuff that we leave on the table in these podcasts. I don't think I'm missing anything you got anything else, Christie that you want to yes. One of my really, it's hard to call, you know, players who you recruited and coached, it's hard to call them Friends, but that is a great friend of mine. Sarah Jenkins, who played at Riverdale baptist, a recruited her when I was assistant coach at Maryland for her freshman year and she decided to leave after a freshman season. And I took those two years off in between, had two babies, came back and I came back and coached at Georgetown, and then that's where Sarah had transferred. So I coached her her freshman year and her senior year. But she was assistant coach at Penn State before that she was also at Georgetown and Delaware, but now she is back as the head coach at Delaware. I'll talk about crying when Nas noman's name was being called when that news came out that she was going to do that. I mean, Natasha there, she took the head coaching position at Arizona state. She was at Delaware. They made that run to the tournament and lost in college park. But for her to be able to come back and coach at Delaware, I'm just extremely thrilled for her. I was talking to texting with moka, and she was this excited to all the DMV years or just over the top with the possibilities with Sarah Jenkins being there. Her dad, reverend John Jenkins, said, first baptist church of Glenn Arden, Maryland. Her mom, like I know their whole family, but he has a mega church in PG county, Maryland. They're going to have a lot of support for her because that's not too far up the road. It's kind of Delaware's kind of extended DMV. Yeah. We count it when it's when it's beneficial to us. Absolutely. That would be a matchup that we can go to. Down there, Williamsburg, CA matchup between William Mary and the Delaware. There you go. And then Della Don, maybe there too, because that's her. That's her. I thought it was a little surprised that she wasn't at the Maryland game, but I'm sure she had other things to do. She's working out, man. She looks good. She looks good. Whatever she was doing, it seems to have worked. But yeah. Jenkins. Shouts all the new coaches. It's really, really exciting time for all these new coaches taking over, especially all the ones we're near us. So yeah, that's all I got. That's it. This will be talking next week. Now, season won't be up Saturday next week. So maybe we'll do our season preview. I know. I can't wait for that. Once the rosters are narrowed down, unfortunately, I know it's going to be hard to do, but once that happens, we will bring that all to you, but we don't have to go home. Y'all don't have to go home, but we got to get up out of here. They're cutting the lights out on us. We're still sitting here courtside. We're going to walk off slowly and still talk about all these things. We've discussed today. But we certainly appreciate you guys. "With over this many months, especially since they started that off when the code of circumstances were more severe, especially duke, they had to become very tight knit. And they talked about in the pre season how I was so tight, and how much they loved just the team that had come together. I asked what it was like to be losing somebody players off of that and knowing that the players they had found so hard with just they're not going to, they're going to go their separate ways for pretty much ever. Within a matter of weeks. Taylor and Dave was an immediately looked at each other and briefly smiled at each other. That was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Shiny Wilson, you know, answered she talked about good talent coming from the freshman and possible trans, but she didn't say transfer, but she said like other talent we might be bringing in. She didn't really mention anything about the emotional, certainly mention anything, you know about the emotional aspect of losing people, so I suspect there might be things going on. And team, and the other thing was, I don't know who asked about them going to Mitch. I asked you about them going to the W and I. And I asked the players about going through the W and IT because having been to enough new press conferences this year, I knew that if I asked Kara Lawson if they would be interested in going to the W and IT, that she would have told me to ask the players. So it's a very, it is a very player feedback run sort of organization. Yes. And when famously kind of when they canceled their season, the season before when they canceled their season due to COVID, it's been said and reported over and over again that that was a player decision, a full team decision. So Cara is a very much lets her team make decisions. So I asked the players, would you be interested in playing the W and IT? Shine a Wilson was like, yeah, you know, if the NCAA tournament, you know, I'm paraphrasing here, but if it doesn't happen, then yeah, we would explore another opportunity to play in the postseason. So let's tailor a bit more muted was sort of just kind of like, we'll make that decision as a team. So I'm not sure if everybody there is on the same page. Was my takeaway from that? I agree. I agree. All right, we will move on from well, no, we're moving on from two. It was one thought. We got way into which I kind of figured we're gonna have. Wake forest, shouts to Jules spear, anything. No, Jules spear is wearing a boot, though. And Jen Hoover mentioned that her and one other player whose name ski. You can just say it. Sorry, Olivia somebody. Yeah, yeah. Her. They were both playing injured. Yeah, she played with a broken wrist. And a broken wrist. Yeah. Maybe the broken wrist, and unless cunei and had more events than I thought in that championship game. Ended up.
