Young jeffy is gonna bring me the greenbacks. This could be very profitable. But wait, sorry, are you talking to yourself? No, I just heard you say cha ching. Spaghetti again? I like spaghetti. At 14, Jeff was so good at racing that he struggled to find enough challenging competition in his area. So his family made the difficult decision to leave California and moved to Indiana, a place with a lot more tracks where he could legally race sprint cars with his parents approval. Well, you think you're going to like a race in 18 year olds, you're going to love racing 36 year olds. While most parents were signing field trip permission slips to their children to go to the botanical gardens, Jeff Gordon's parents were signing slips to let him drive a 150 mph in a steel cage. On dirt on dirt. The hope was that an Indiana, Jeff would eventually get good enough to go full-time and racing in that opportunities would present themselves. This was all laying the groundwork for a level of media attention, never before seen in American motor sport. After graduating driving high school, Jeff are driving college maybe. He joined the NASCAR bush league in 1992 and wouldn't you know it, he won. Captured a rookie record 11 11 pole positions in one rookie of the year at the age of 21 years old while driving a Ford car for owner Bill Davis. Who also drew Garfield. What's crazy actually is I guess in the early 90s, Jeff was looking at getting into IndyCar, he couldn't because not enough money, but it turns out Jackie Stewart offered Gordon a test over in Europe to try out some open wheelers, I don't know if that's Formula One or not, but that's pretty cool that Jackie Stewart was recognized in the talent so early on. And he went over there and he was like, yeah, sorry, they eat snails over there. Yeah. So he came back, he's like, I like pizza. My cat loves lasagna. Winston Cup Hall of Fame owner Rick Hendrick love Gordon's aggressive style. And after seeing him masterfully handle a broken car that he thought for sure would crash, he decided to poach him from the bush league. After Hendrix signed him to his elite NASCAR circle, he declared Gordon's one of the best prospects I've ever seen. I felt like this was my chance to get my Michael Jordan. Dance, pharma. End quote. The circuits drivers, however, did not share in Rick Hendricks enthusiasm. To them, Gordon was a dangerous young risk taker who only two years of driving experience who was nothing more than media hype. On top of that, he was from crunchy, goofy, hippy California. I just didn't mesh well with good old boy culture of NASCAR. We still see this today. Everybody hates the Kyle Busch. And driver's circles, he was referred to as that Gordon kid, which was usually followed up with a sarcastic jerking off motion. Gordon didn't mind being different. He switched from Ford to Chevy and even decided to paint in his car a bright rainbow color, which in this testosterone driven traditional world of NASCAR racing was met with Snickers and raised eyebrows. I highly doubt that he had anything to do with the color of his car. Why is reading jerking off motion way funnier than actually seeing it? It just is. So bush league real quick. I always assume I never put two and two together on this one because I think that's where it comes from. That's where it comes from. Yeah, because Cup Series is the top and then bush league is kind of like the feeder, kind of like the JV, if you will. Yeah. So there you go. Pretty bush league stuff. That's pretty bush league. I thought it was like George Bush. I thought it came from like a beer league baseball beer league. Oh, that makes a lot of sense. That's bush league, dude. Jess first race in the Winston Cup Series just so happened to be the last race in the career of legendary 7 time champion Richard the king petty. In hindsight, it feels like a hefty offering of symbolism from the cosmos. Gordon defied low expectations and finished 5th overall in NASCAR's most important event that Daytona 500. "Probably the biggest Star Wars fan I know. How are you feeling about this? Respawn, of course, we love to fall in order. How are you feeling about them getting three games here? Yeah. When it first broke, I thought this was just like a weird confirmation that they were working on a Jedi fallen order sequel, and I was like, we knew that. And then, yeah, of course, reading in. And seeing that they're working on another game and helping out and producing another I'm excited. You know, I think what they did with Jedi fallen order, they really show they really showed off like they understand what Star Wars should be to its core when it comes to storytelling and a hero's journey. And et cetera, et cetera so on and so forth. So I'm excited to see what they have to do, of course, with the Jedi series I'm looking forward to the most to continue like Cal's story and see of course with the crew after the first game. And then yeah, I'm interested to see where this FPS lands. If this is something that is if we get something like a titanfall to like super dope first person shooter campaign campaign or if it's, you know, if it's a little more multiplayer focus, I'm interested to see what they end up doing with that. My thought, I'm sorry, I can chime in. My thought there would be that it's not going to be. They'll probably be a multi player mode because the first person shooter, but I think you're gonna get a campaign because I think the fact that you don't call it response to all new Star Wars multiplayer shooter. I know first person shooter can be a multiplayer shooter, but I feel like that's cart before the horse if you didn't say that. I think the fact they're saying first person shooter game makes me immediately think of a doom makes me think of any of the other games that we've talked to campaign of what you're going through. And I would love to see them expand on, honestly, the idea that battlefront two had, you know, like, you're an elite stormtrooper. I think that's such a cool, interesting idea for the premise of a video game. I would love to see if they could do something similar to that. And yeah, as far as contract goes, yeah, it's up next year. And we already know that they're not going to renew that the exclusivity deal with them because there's already so many other developers that are working on Star Wars games, ubisoft, I think. Yeah, they got weird right where it was like I don't know if they've confirmed they won't do the exclusivity thing, but it is the fact that yeah, you have seen that start breaking down where other developers between that, you know, it's funny. Over the years, Star Wars has really been feast or famine, you know, there's obviously the original movies and then nothing for a long time and through the late 80s and the early 90s all we really had like the video games and books and comics got us through and there are obviously the prequels came and there was a bunch of video games and associated stuff with that and then it kind of went quiet again and then Disney came in and now there's more Star Wars being pumped into the channel than ever. You know, obviously they kind of press pause on the movies for a little bit, but there's all these TV shows, more TV shows coming, and really like tons and tons of video games. You think about all these respawn titles, plus the big ubisoft one you just mentioned, plus the chronic dream one, plus the couture, remaster. More Star Wars games come in than ever. It's a lot of stuff. Now where would you go, bear it with out of all the things Gary just listed? What is your most anticipated Star Wars game? Of the things that we know? Yeah. And then either rumored ones too, I guess if you want. The Jedi fallen order sequel. A 100%. That's the right answer. I can't wait for that. Earlier this year, late last year I forget that game's closer than we think it is and that we'd see it before E three. That's the one where if you said to me like right now we can show you a lot more of it. I'd want to see the least, because I feel like I guess at least like what that's roughly that's why I'm excited. I love the first one so much. You think the advice I don't know any, like show me like I'd be more interested to see trailers for other games, but like I'm more excited overall for the sequel to call and coast right. And I'm excited to see gameplay design improvements that they make and stuff like that. One of the readable maps. Yeah, a readable map, you know, an easier way to maybe get like a 100% mapped trophies, stuff like that. And so, yeah, that's what I'm most excited for. And I talked about this when I did my whole Star Wars current canon lore like rewatch of like everything from video games, movies, TV shows, comics, books, like a year or two ago. Jedi fallen orders in the top three of all things. Your story wise. I think it's incredible. So yeah. Gary, for you, where is it shake? And because right behind it for me, I'm right there with you fall in order to. That's what I want, I want. But right behind it would be the kotor remake. Gary, what about you? Probably for me also the code tour remake just because I have so many memories. Nostalgic memories. That was probably the game I played most on the original Xbox. I remember being up until like two or 3 o'clock in the morning playing it and just being that was like really my first introduction to the world of BioWare and the kind of game of making and it was my, you know, my gateway drug into mass effect that would come later. And yeah, even though that in itself, again, that one's also again kind of a known quantity, gets us a remake, but it's also really unknown in terms of what are they going to change? Is it going to be exactly like the whole game is predicated on this massive twist, right? So do they keep that? Knowing that everyone that's going in and replaying it kind of already knows what that is or do they change that up? Will you say that? Do you think people do like granted? I know it's so hard to avoid spoilers when you're getting closer and closer and closer to it. But I feel like there's so many games we've seen come out recently that are remakes or remasters or something that how many people knew the story of mass effect. And granted, I guess, mass effects are harder. No, you're put into it. And at one point, but I still feel like you get the whole promise of remasters, like you loved this game, but it doesn't aged well. Here's what it would look like if we made it today with everything we've learned particularly between now and then like, here's the ultimate kind of dream version of it. That's exciting. I want to see it. And maybe I wonder how much though they will change to because it's a remake. You can go in there and tease a few things.
