"Was one of those cars I think it was like, where did he come from? We haven't heard from him all day. Yeah, I mean, he started on the front row and that was a while. He told me he hoped the Toyota could get lined up and make dominate the race. Didn't we go? He told me. Well, he did. It didn't happen. What are you doing? You're adding just adding credibility to the show like crazy. Well, we've got time, man. We've got time to Catherine those things now. So it's nice. It's kind of a nice loose situation here. We can talk about it. But yeah, no, he said the key to the race was getting all those Toyotas lined up because there's not many of them compared to the other manufacturers, obviously. So they had to get all 6 of them or whatever lined up. And they weren't really able to get that done. All day long. They just weren't able to always find each other. So the fact that he finished 5th, I feel pretty good for him because one he didn't wreck the car. Two, he brought it back in the 5th and three, you know? He moves on to a track at Dover next week, where he's pretty good. A little bit, a little bit, yeah. Kyle Larson led 32 laps in this race, first top 5 on a speedway. That's a weird stat. Yeah, it's really weird because if you look back to last year's race, he was wiped out early in this thing. And the day was pretty much toast. This time around, he's the only car that spent every lap inside the top 15. All 188 laps, how Larson at number 15 car was inside the top 15 of the race. Never once was he shuffled out of line where he had to fall back outside the top 20. So incredible job by him and I know a lot of people criticize him for that move on the last lap trying to get out there and make something happen and resulted in the last lap crash with Bubba Wallace Kurt Busch and them, but it's hard, man. At the end of the day, he's kind of racist. You have to do something. Especially when you see you're not winning the race. If you're going into the final stretch here and you're like, well man, I'm second, I gotta do something. He pulled out from Eric Jones, tried to make something happen. At the end of the day, he didn't and people crash, but hey, he gave it a shot, he tried. And tried to make something happen. But a fourth place finished. I mean, like you said, first top 5 on a super speed waveform. I'm sure in the closing laps, that kind of factors into it too. He's never been in that position before. What do I do? I'm sure he was. Yeah, I'm sure he was like, well, okay. So a lot of that goes into it too, but I feel like the fourth place finish has to feel like a win for him as well. A lot of guys feeling like they had wins here that didn't win the race, but I think he had to feel pretty good about it too. Mister, I don't know, ask Joe Gibbs, Kyle Busch at number three, who was like 8th going into the final lap there. Yeah, and he's lucky to even be there because he had the contact with Christopher Bell coming off pit road. That was that. That was very strange. So there were three Y with Noah Gregson leaving pit road on the final pit stop of the day. Yeah. Makes contact with his teammates. Teammate goes around and Kyle Busch continues on, but I thought for sure he would have lost some momentum and just had some issues based on that. Maybe even some damage, but he got lucky and was able to contend for the potential win here. I don't know where he came from in those closing laps, but he was right where he needed to be and got a solid podium finish there. Now Austin Dillon at number two, yet again here in the top ten top 5, but he does well at these kinds of races. In fact, he's won these kinds of races. Yeah, he has. And for the three car, this was their second, second place finish of the weekend because Jeffrey Earnhardt finished second in the Xfinity race, but I don't know what it was about this race. Yeah, I didn't have him pegged, even though he's won Daytona 500s and stuff before. I've just, I don't ever have him pegged for that, but they've been very good this season. Had the third place finish in Martinsville second place at Auto Club speedway. Now you have a second place finish at Talladega. That's three totally different racetracks. This three team is coming to life pretty good and on a day where his teammate Tyler Reddick had a really bad day with engine issues, the three cars still kind of carried the flag and showed the RCR is still very, very strong. So maybe I need to start kind of expecting more out of Austin Dillon each week because for whatever reason I don't go into a race weekend thinking Austin Dillon's one of the guys I should be picking commonly I've gone with Tyler Redick is a guy, but maybe I need to really start looking at Austin Dillon. Let's head to victory lane now where watermelons were flying everywhere. Drivers popping up out of the roof and all kinds of stuff. Ross Chastain, of course, has got to be the only guy that fits that Bill. Second wind of the season and his career after deleting just one lap of the race, the final app. Watermelon was smashed. Yes, he popped out of the roof hatch. Let's hear from Ross. Does not seem real at all. I keep waiting to wake up from this dream. And it realized it's all not what I thought of what I think I'm living. But I've got great groups of people from track house on the competition and the business side to the business side was my family. People in Charlotte and around mooresville that keep reminding me and keep showing me that this is real and we talked about it. I talked about it earlier. You were sitting right here and this spot, like I'm right where I want to be and I have the people around me. So they keep me remembering and they keep reminding me. And they keep pushing me to make this the best we can make it. We're not resting on any of this stuff. And by Justin said, I might not be quite as sharp in the morning to get to work on Dover, but I'll get to work on it at some point tomorrow. Carrie, what? This car was the exact car he wanted coda. Wow. Two different kinds of race tracks and stuff. That's right. They took this car to a road course, you know, three, four, maybe 5 weeks ago. Won the race there. Take it back to the shop, strip it down, get it back together, and it's winning Talladega just like a month later. Wow, that tells you something about the next gens. It does. This thing is so versatile. You can literally take this thing anywhere, it appears. I don't know if that will ring true for the entire duration of this car being a thing. But the early portion of things, if you told people going into it, you could go from coda, winning that race and take that race winning car at coda. To win the race at Talladega, I think a lot of people were like, yeah, okay. How about track house racing though? It even had Dale junior kind of wondering, um, maybe I should go cup. Dude, you know? They have made some waves really fast. Now obviously they've got pit bull. They've got a lot of marketing partners now they're jumping on, left and right. But at the end of the day, you gotta win. Exactly. And if you looked at what they did last year in their first year, they came out swinging, and it was like, holy crap, this team, you know, a lot of people thought it was gonna be a joke, but when they came in, they had speed immediately with Daniel Suarez, and I was like, okay, well they're on the verge here. Now they've got Chastain. They bought the Chip Ganassi racing operation, got both charters and all that stuff. And they have really, you thought they came out swinging last year, they have come out guns blazing this season and my goodness. Ross Chastain has gained just incredible amounts of confidence. I don't know what it is. I don't know what he's been told by Justin marks, but he looks totally different this season. I like Justin marks. It was either a tweet or Facebook from victory lane on Sunday to the carpool lane with the kids on Monday. It was pretty funny. Yeah, no, and that's the cool thing that I like about track house as well. So even though they've got like Pitbull, the worldwide superstar and stuff, it just feels like a fun family atmosphere still. With just the marks and everybody that's involved there. Heck, I'll be out at the local store down here. Harris teeter will be getting groceries or something. You'll see track house employees walking through with their track house shirts on and it just feels like a nice family thing. I just feel like they are all normal people..

"We had big Rex watermelon smashing and a whole lot more Talladega super speedway was the site of NASCAR Cup Series racing. Let's run things down ten to one. You got Kevin Harvick who had a bouncy race car to begin this race. Then he got Alex Bowman, Michael McDowell, chase Elliott 7. Erik Jones had a checkered flag in his sights just a couple hundred yards to go. He ends up 6th on the day. Martin Truex Junior Kyle Larson led 32 laps, his first top 5 on a super speedway believe it or not, Kyle Busch. Oh boy, when asked about his contract extension, he said, I don't know. Ask Joe Gibbs. He ends up third. Austin Dillon at number two. To victory lane, Ross Chastain, grabs his second win of the season and his career after leading just one lap of the race, the final lap. Yes, a watermelon was smashed. Yes, he popped out of the roof hatch, and yes, he gave the fans some sort of black thing from his clothing. I don't know. Other stories on the day, we saw mostly single file racing. Stage one winner went to Bubba Wallace and stage two went to William Byron. There was a massive ten car wreck involving Joey Logano, Austin Cedric ty Dillon, Daniel Suarez, Cole Custer, and many, many more. Up next on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, miles the monster is going to have his way with these next gen Cup Series cars. Dover motor speedway, 400 miles, 400 laps. It's going down Sunday, 3 p.m. eastern on FS1. The final lap dot com. NASCAR Xfinity series racing from Talladega Superspeedway and by .131 seconds, Noah Gregson holds off the poll center Jeffrey Earnhardt, who was crew chief by Larry McReynolds, by the way, to grab the checkered flag. We're gonna run 14th or 15th and just, you know, we're just there. Didn't really feel like we had the car to make aggressive moves and make our way up there, but yeah, those guys kind of just, I don't really know. I gotta go back and watch. I don't know how I got up there, but all of a sudden we were fourth and then the 7, he ran out of fuel or something and got the jump. I gotta go back and watch it, but just super, super thankful for Luke Lambert and the rest of the guys. They did a great job with pit stops and getting enough fuel in it and seemed to let it kind of came down to, so I was really nervous there at the end with just watching the fuel pressure gauge the whole last lap and we had plenty of fuel on it. So just ended up working out and just never quit. Let's see here, Noah led 7 laps on the day, AJ almond dinger was your dash for cash winner and comes in third followed by Ryan Sieg and Lennon castle rounds out the top 5. Over in the points, AJ Alma dinger is your leader 40 over Noah Gregson, ty Gibbs, Josh Barry, and Brandon Jones rounds out the top 5 in the standings. Up next on the Xfinity series schedule is Dover on Saturday, one 30 p.m. eastern on FS1. "Some news of the week from Toby Christie dot com. Yeah, that music's cute, man. I love it. Yeah, that had a flavor of old school, but new school, and it was all over the place. I like it. That's right. So we gotta earn heart in the three, which we knew about, but there's another little tidbit. Yeah, another little wrinkle Larry McReynolds will be the crew chief for the first time in like 22 years. He's getting on the bitbox. Does he remember how? I don't know. This is gonna be interesting. So that's kind of the side thing to watch is to see how far out of touch he is. So that'll be interesting, but yeah, so Jeffrey Earnhardt and the number three car for RCR and the Xfinity race this week. Alada. Super speedway. With Larry McReynolds the crew chief, this is incredible. So this is just totally just mind-blowing. I spoke to Jeffrey Earnhardt about this, by the way, in an interview that's on top of Chris dot com, go check it out. He says that Richard Childress expects them to go to the track, have the best car set in the poll and potentially win this race. So they're not playing around with it. Even though it seems like a big joke with the whole, you know, putting an Earnhardt and three car at Talladega with Larry McReynolds. Right. It just feels like it's just kind of a publicity stunt. They're literally going out to try to win this race. So does Larry still have to do the coverage? That would be great, wouldn't it? I'm pretty funny. You know, has another day job. Sorry, you're still on the clock. Right. Yeah, you're gonna have to be atop the box and you can do your hobby on the side, but you gotta still work. Right, we've been paying you for a while now. And we expect you to do the same this weekend. So that's gonna be fun. The Xfinity cars have changed, of course, but they haven't drastically changed like the Cup Series cars. That's true. That's true. So maybe there is a little bit of comfort and a little familiarity there with Larry McReynolds, but I think he's one of those guys that I don't think actually stops learning. I feel like he's actually stayed pretty, pretty on it. And his broadcasting department because he's always kind of brought the technical analysis and had the cutaway cars and also some other things they've kind of had him doing in that little side room they've got them in now. So I feel like he might know quite a bit still. Yeah, I think at the end of the day, for this type of race it's going to be a lot of strategy and stuff. So I will say Richard Childress is better off with Larry McConnell as a crew chief than if he were to call Cary Murphy or Toby Christie. Well, let's not get crazy here. We are pretty awesome..

Maybe I need to listen to this, thanks. So welcome for anyone who's gotten here by way of those new videos. And certainly from your website, Toby Christie dot com. Yes, before we get a NASCAR news though, 'cause I know this is the segment where we kind of talk about all the NASCAR news. Jamie Johnson Carrie. Fractured hands still gutted it out. Ran a race at Long Beach. What do you think about that? Well, and now he's robo Johnson. Did you see the x-ray? Yeah. He's like, he's got parts in him now. So the old Lowe's commercial where he was like a robot or whatever or was that Matt Kenseth. I don't remember, but I don't remember that either, but yeah. I can't believe you gutted it out. First of all, and second of all, now he's had the surgery. He's got a screw in his finger, I guess. Yeah. How impressive was his race team and doctors molding a piece of carbon fiber for his injury so he can put the glove over his hand. It was amazing. It was incredible. The whole effort was incredible. It was cool to see that he got it out when it first happened. I was like, well, that's probably going to be it. We might not even be seeing him in the Indy 500 now. Well, we saw this giant cast thing on when he did the video. I was like, there's no way. This is not going to work. So kudos to them for getting an all squared away and getting Jimmy, where he can compete. I know it wasn't the most impressive performance on the scoreboard. But making it through the whole weekend despite numerous crashes leading up to the race. I feel like he has to feel pretty good about at least getting out that race. Well, he's got his eye on the prize, the Indianapolis 500. So yeah, so we'll have to see how this goes, what to see if that does aggravate him at all while he is there, but luckily the surgery was completed. It was a success. And we'll see how it goes from there. But let's get into some NASCAR news, but I wanted to bring up some Jimmy Johnson stuff for you. I know you're the Jimmy Homer at for like long time at this point. So that doesn't count as NASCAR news, I guess. 7 championships doesn't qualify him, I guess. What has he done lately? Right. News of the week coming to you from Toby Christie dot com and we begin with an Earnhardt driving the number three at Talladega. Does it get any better than that? Oh my goodness. That's wild to think about. Wow. So yeah, Jeffrey Earnhardt, not Dale Earnhardt junior or anybody else like that. So Jeffrey Arnold. Jeffrey and heard the grandson of the legendary Dale Earnhardt senior will be driving the number three RCR Xfinity series car, which is a brand new car that bring out. They've had the two in the 21 this year. They're unveiling the three that will be coming out of Talladega with forever long sponsorship. And how cool would it be to see him mixing it up for the win at Talladega in that three car? That'd be cool. It's a top ride. So, I mean, it could happen. He's got a chance for sure, and I know that those guys have been working on stuff like this for a long time to see them pull that kind of a deal off. It was pretty cool. Yeah, yeah. Next we got to Cass grala, not to be confused with kaz grala to the 48 Xfinity car as his spell check. Yeah, so this is interesting too, because Jade buford has been the driver for the 48 big machine racing team in the Xfinity series since they opened. This is a change from the plans here. Jade buford is being shelved for at least two races Talladega and Dover while kaz grala comes in and kind of detects whether or not there's an issue with the car or maybe if there was an issue behind the wheel. So got to kind of be nervous if you're J buford because you don't want to lose your ride. But you also want your equipment to be good if you're coming back. It's kind of a weird spot, right? Right. Totally. This is strange. So the team owner, Steve porchetta, who is being honest and is released that he sent, he said, quote, we've made a very serious commitment to the NASCAR Xfinity series, including our strategic partnership with RCR. And at this time, we need to evaluate all aspects of the team as I am determined to run up front end quote. He didn't say we hate Jade, we want to kick him to the curb or anything like that, but he did say that they are determined to run up front. And if you change the driver, the next driver runs up front, there's a chance the other driver's not coming back. So let's go. For sure, for sure. Hey, friend of the show, Justin Allgaier going cup this weekend. Man, that's so cool. 77 spire entry. He's got the brand colors on there. It's gonna be really cool to see what Justin Allgaier.

Yep yep wow that's going to be a in september eleventh tribute car so And they're going to run that richmond. So yeah yeah. That's a somber paint scheme for sure That one but that brings us to this weekend at the glen where we do have a whole lot of paint schemes talk about and we kick off the run to the playoffs here as well so i think on how many cars are under. But i think we have the starting line. Thirty seven cars include with a met with his lousy on the poll and my favorite soda. Rc enersen Thirty seven spot. I usually do the You should do the fake version of our cnn that they sell at walmart. I think i think that actually is the fake version o. I think sheltered although there are three spots left boy said could show up tomorrow if he wanted to. I would love that if he did. Any more can be great and of course brings to the only good thing on nascar dot com which subsequently ruined in the media. Kind of okay again. It's not bad the paint scheme preview and like we talked about when we went over some of the sponsors there are quite a few special sponsors and special paint schemes as we get going again in this run toward the playoffs as you look through us or anything that stands out to us being like a particularly good one. The cowboys channel one is very ill advised with. Its artwork of the gun pointing at the number three in some areas below the mason dixon. Line that's kindle trees and yeah i know right. Oh yeah. There's john wayne. He's shooting at the three. Yeah so that's a car that was like is cowboy channel. I'm assuming that's some kind of antennas or pluto. Tv crazy bullshit. I don't know. I've never heard of it before now. Which i guess. It's good that they're advertising it so it's a cable television. What who knew anymore network was founded in nineteen seventy nine as the national christian network and took the name family net in nineteen eighty eight under the ownership of jerry falwell. Of course it's now owned by patrick. Gotch who also owns. Rfid tb and if you want some entertainment man all right. I haven't had our f. d. tv in a while on our cable because they took it off one of the great joys of cable. Tv is watching the tractor show on tv. They just go around the country finding people who have these awesome old tractors. They fixed up brand new condition. Totally bad.
