"A film with two pretty big stars in it. Yes. Let him go with Kevin Costner and Diane Lane. You know, Kitty with the movie awards season, right around the corner. I sure hope that let him go becomes at least part of the awards conversation. Because it really is that good. Just based on the dynamic performances from Leeds stars Diane Lane and Kevin Costner, but Lesley Manville and Jeffrey Donovan shine to really the entire cast lights up this family revenge thriller that finds Kevin Costner and Diane Lane. "Capable of doing to you. Agent Nevins. I'm coming for you. The Corona virus has done a lot of things over the year. It's put a lot of things on hold. But one of the things that could not stop is Liam Neeson kicking butt and taking names. Every year. There's at least one or two of these believe Lisa wasn't one last year was the one about the was a snowplow driver was going out for the Russian mob. It seems like every year he has A group of people He's got to go after. And I mean the guy's in his sixties. What? What's so funny about it is, you know you see a stories of Chuck Norris and Sylvester Stallone and Schwarzenegger when they were doing their expendable movies And, of course, when Schwarzenegger and Stallone we're trying to make a comeback with escape plan, and everyone wrote about how low these guys are, like, 65 years old, and they're just till two in action movies. No one seems to care that Liam Neeson's like in the sixties, and that guy is great. I mean, I absolutely love a good Liam Nees an action movie, and he's done stuff that's good and bad. I mean the taken movies for the most part, we're pretty good. Hey, did one on a plane and he didn't want on a train? A He's Dunham Anonima Beals. I mean, he's basically done the planes, trains and automobiles of violent revenge stories. This one I wouldn't say it's it's not certainly not the best. And it's clear that Neeson is aging. He's not able to do the in person physical stunts. I mean, the beating the crap out of people. It seems to have been dialed back in this episode. He's usually driving a car into something or blowing somebody up with a bomb, but he still does this incredibly well. There's like, even a scene and I think I played in the trailer where he says I'm coming to get you, You know, I mean, that's basically I don't know who you are, but I'm gonna find you and I'm going to get you now. The last one. He did that one about the snowplow driver. That one because it was based on a Norwegian movie. Of course, it had to work the plot together and sort of mirror the plot from the Norwegian film and make an Americanized it to a degree, But it still had. It still was a very Norwegian movie. If you've seen enough Norwegian movies, you know what I mean? When I'm saying that there's a certain feel that Norwegian films have This one. As I understand. It is just a straight up in a, you know, original story, so it's wholly American and it it's not trying to Pay tribute to a previous film. It's just straight up action movie about a guy who wants to clear his name and a little ways. It reminds you of the movie Payback. The one with Mel Gibson. What, like about you 25 years ago, something like that, where he needed like $70,000 from this crime, family, and that's all he wanted. Just want. Want my $70,000 only give you a million. He's like I just Just want my 70,000. He just wanted to square up. And that's basically what's going on with honesty. And we've all been in that situation. I mean, maybe you know you're not trying to turn in $9 million to the FBI, but we've all been in that situation where, like I just need this one thing. You know you go because I just need you to say I'm sorry. I just need you to pay me back. My $2 and somebody just dig their heels and it doesn't do it And it just gets worse and ugly and hopefully not violent, but you know, it never ends well. And the other thing that's funny about this movie. Of course, he's trying to turn himself in. And they don't believe him because they get everybody constantly coming in saying I'm this crazy bank Robert. Yeah, Hi, You know, not It was interesting is Kate Walsh is in this. She is best known for being in the TV series private practice, which was a spin off of Grey's Anatomy. And she plays his would be girlfriend, the one he falls in love with the one that he wants to clear his name for. And it's great to see her in a movie before he was never a big movie star. I mean, she showed up in a couple of them, but you know, she was never a big movie star. But it's nice to see her get apart now that that that private practice is and I know she's kind of circled back to Grey's Anatomy and anymore who knows? Character might be dead. They kill off everybody on that show. But ultimately this is exactly what you'd expect. He's kicking butt and taking names. And you know it's kind of nice little supporting cast yet Jo Courtney's and that I can forgive that. But you got Robert Patrick and Jeffrey Donovan from Burn notice actually shows up. It's not a Clint Eastwood movie and Jeffrey Donovan shows up. As the one of the FBI agents. So since it's a nice little familiar cats, it's just a little small actioner. That'll get you through the weekend. Someone had to say, honestly, kind of rocks. It kind of rocks. You're listening to fat guys at the movies with Kevin Carl. Let's talk about Hubie Halloween. Adam Sandler stars as a socially awkward man trying to keep hollowing safe and Salem when a serial killer shows up. I don't want your guy you want is the nicest guy in this town..

"For film or TV, I'm, you know, doing well my areas, but, you know, literally, we bonded over buying a hockey fight tapes in the back of the hockey news, which was a newspaper the came out two weeks after anything happened. So it was like, you know, now, the internet once again, you could find out what happened two minutes after the play happened and we're buying hockey fight tapes from some guy named Andy in New Jersey. So we could see Rudy Poche fight Darren Campbell. These are all these are all this is all true man, which is the one good thing. I love about social media's I've become Twitter friends with Darren Campbell. Do you really it's so bizarre to me, too? You know, in only hockey fans are going to appreciate this. But like, you know, to sit there and have a conversation with Darren Campbell privately count, something called Twitter when you grew up watching this guy fight and me. And Jason one Taizhou was a stick boy for the kings, and he had the in for where the opposing teams would stay at their hotel usually was at the airport, a park. Right by the forum, and so me, and Jason, the probably be embarrassing telling this. But nothing bad, we would call airport part, you know, Motown. I Earl Jackson and Jason Botterill where reporters for the LA times can be Darren Kimble's room. Please and Darren Campbell would pick up the phone and we say we were from the LA times, you know, doing article on fight in. They'll never forget. He spoke to us for like twenty minutes. We couldn't even shot them up. I am. And then Kelly Buchberger was the next call. And he told his staff off he did. Because I think we interrupted his nap, but on and on I appreciate Jason Barrett taking the time to talk about that the other side of the business because there is a completely other side of the business than I'm not on that. I think people like to hear about breaking the I think they call it breaking the fourth wall. Absolutely. So watch out for Saks next movie Brennan shop special on Showtime, and shop special show. Tyne check it out. And again, you know, thank you guys for having me, here and believe I appreciate it. And just believe in yourself, man, and keep fighting approp-. Yes. Keep fighting a never give up. You know, but also be realistic. Yeah. Very true that helps their each some of you could learn that inappropriate Earl apple podcasts and soundcloud. Please leave a review and follows clients they're all doing, big Bang's watch the Ted Bundy movie on Netflix. It's really it's so good. It's like you're watching the documentary like it doesn't even seem like a movie, and this great cast as well jaws, MMA, vich lily Collins, the guy him parson, right from big bang theory. Get cast on. He was talking about casting. You're watching this movie. That's the guy from the big bang theory. But he plays a great. And the guy who was the first lawyer. I saw him on Dexter. I hate saying Jeffrey Donovan. Yeah. He was like degree. So it's a great cast. And you know, it's a fascinating. You know, most serial killers like gargoyles to have this, like super good looking Ted. The actual Ted Bundy was Zack's probably the only guy who could play them. It's not a this isn't like a gore movie of just Ted bunny going, and killing people. It's a psychological look at a narcissist told through the perspective of his I love, so it's an interesting kind of case study, which is why I think people have really responded to it. That's what I liked about. It was you guys could have gone, the cheap route and just going blood and guts, which sells to kids, but it's more of a smart man's or smart person woman to a horrible story, which you have to have good act. If you don't go the blood and guts out. And there's no CGI in this acting ZOA watch that it's unethical. Now a burning up the Netflix charts and we'll see you guys next week. Oh, maybe I'll do a phone Darren Campbell..

"So you haven't seen it. You can go ahead and watch it. This is a spoiler review. This is real life. This this actually happened. Start that Ephron lily Collins Kayla, scored alario not exactly say your name John Malkovich. Jeffrey Donovan are are. Good boys. Jim Parsons and Haley Joel Osborn make appearances in this movie. Fomer guests the pod in future gift, Jim Parsons. And future. Guests jeffey. Donovan. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. Not getting the best reviews on both sides of the coin whether it is from audiences or critics is actually came out a while ago. I believe it Sundance film festivals campers roof Sundance fifty six percent for critics and rotten tomatoes with a five point seven out of ten fifty nine percent audience score. Yeah. I did not like this movie at all. I actually really disliked this movie. It's not at the level of being a giant piece of crap which takes me to say. But it's it's bad. It's in the bottom third of movies that I've seen this year would have been in the bottom. I've seen last year. I gave it a thirty five out of one hundred this movie. I thought it was very close to a disaster. Zack Ephron was very good at lily Collins go, but I thought Zac Efron is really good. And he someone who the right script. On his desk will pump out one of those roles that people like oh shit. I can act maybe he'll get I'm not saying Oscar nod, but I don't think he doesn't have roles. I've been on record saying that about the rock because I think he does so many fucking movies. Just like, it's it's volume thing. But if you get to conscripts, I think he could really turn out a good role. Scrip was not great here. Not a great play. But I thought he did a good job at what he had. We'll get more into a second Ken, Jack. What did you think you watched? I think on at the same time. I was watching it. Yeah. Gave it a forty one hundred. It's not very good definite. The worst movie ever I gate if it wasn't for lily Collins, performance, I think she stole the show by like a huge margin. If it wasn't for her performance. It would be like my bottom ten movies of the of the year. But she she killed it. I didn't particularly think Ephron is very good. None of the guest spots were particularly fantastic. Even my king Jeffey. Donovan only came in for five seconds. How do you how do you cast Jeffrey Donovan not give him a bit part? I know it's a Stoorikhel. But. Make that lawyer stay longer a lot of it. Like, you said you have to the screenwriting was just so terrible. Particularly in this is something apart a sequence would reached out to me John Malkovich. As the judge the Florida judge. He just kept delivering these really cheesy lines. And I'm sure that's I'm hoping that that's like an historical thing that judge actually did. And that's not like something they made up to service the script because they were fucking terrible. You get like one that stood out to me. I'm paraphrasing little here. He's like you can't be cold with me young, man. This is the sunshine state and you'll see that ice melts really quickly. And like he sounded like he was reading these off acute card. It was just it was terrible in at in find it particularly compelling at any point in. Maybe that's just because the point of view of the what's her name them. Whatever bundy's was renaming it lily Collins character. Liz rightless KENDALL. So that made just because it's from her point of view that like. Like, I just didn't really it wasn't really compelling. And I know we said when the originally announced this movie like I don't think that glorifying Serey color is good. But like there wasn't a good middle ground there. I don't think they reached a middle ground where it was telling an interesting story without while being respectful to people who got like just disgustingly murdered by psychopath and just not good not much take away from Liz clever. I guess him. I remember Carolyn boon for my knowledge of the Ted Bundy thing who the perfect Caroline Boone is in the maze runner..

"Is it a granny? Is it a young kid or is it political? You'll have to go there to say, by the way will the great politicians of our time. I say generation because I was a kid when this guy was president young boy. But I remember him my Merican come to you today with a heavy heart. LBJ LBJ the movie LBJ is out and Woody Harrelson played Lyndon Baines Johnson. Woody harrelson. Cheers. Hello. He's been some pretty good movies. He's a pretty damn good act is a good, and he doesn't get the respect. He deserves because he's a Stoner, right? The guy is, but I think he quit quit smoking. Right. He gave it up or something. He was on with Bill Maher. I know that and Bill Maher him on and I think these guys were smoking buddies before and after photos, the show them like before when they were just kind of sitting together, and they showed the after photos, which one do you think is the photo of us before we got stoned and after yes, he their faces when people make pretty good faces stone, vases, bloodshot eyes, nearly slams shut. Yeah. It's pretty funny. But anyway, LBJ was directed by rob Reiner. I like rod writers director. He's a good director. So it was really kind of humanizing portrait of our thirty six president who was really involved in some pretty heavy stuff now with the K files being released couple of weeks ago. LBJ been mentioned occasions by people conspiracy theories that he was behind it when he knew about it. He was in Dallas. He was in the motorcade when the assassination happen has home state, his home state. He supposedly insisted Kennedy right in our convertible top, right? He supposedly changed the route of the last minute to go in front of the Texas depository. Yeah. Interviews. There was an interview with a woman who claims she was LBJ's side action. And she claims that LBJ said something the day before he she was saying something about those Dan Kennedy's. And he's his response was well, you have to worry about that. If tomorrow. She goes on record saying that there's a political consultant Roger stone, people may know read a whole book about it. But LBJ convincing Jay was not just behind it. But he was one of the ringleaders, and they're in the movie, there's no love lost between the two although it seemed to be a little sanitize. But but but rob Reiner was going for the real guy versus the president. It LBJ was a foul mouth Texan. And he was also very Tolman was like six four. So he was physically imposing and intimidating and a lot of people in on Capitol Hill at congress back in the day said that when LBJ wanting to get something done, you would get quote, unquote, the Johnson treatment, and the judge and treatment was he would physically back you up against the wall and hover over you. You Bill Archer? You gonna vote for the vote for this Bill Archie to do what's right for the state? You. You. Like a threatening kind of thing. But I will say what you how's it was very good in this Jennifer Jason Leigh played lady bird. She was very good at it as well. And they had Jeffrey Donovan play John Kennedy, Michael stall, David playing Robert and clearly the Kennedys and LBJ didn't get along. But they put him on the ticket because they needed the south. And remember this during the time when LBJ the K had the dream of the Civil Rights Act. He wanted to get that through fascinated and LBJ did carry that through against so much opposition from one particular man, Senator Richard Russell play by Richard J it's another great actor and Richard Russell was to the right of a clan leader. And he was a Senator he was not about black people getting any right? Whatsoever. He was all about segregation. He LBJ tight became enemies after you know, LBJ decided to carry this civil rights. But my question was what I went to see this movie. I said we'll rob Reiner put in the movie the classic phone call that LBJ made to Hager, I think his name is Joe Hager. The guy who created Hager slacks apparently LBJ had a pair of Hager slacks. He loved him so much he ordered more pants and call Joe Hager himself to have pants liver to the White House. These were release these LBJ tapes were released of other tapes this one made the rounds. You haven't heard this. It's classic president Johnson Lyndon Baines Johnson ordering some slacks or around eating when I come in from work. About a half eighty two tight noised..

LBJ LBJ the movie LBJ is out and Woody Harrelson played Lyndon Baines Johnson. And I was kind of like Woody Harrelson. What are you out from from? Cheers. That's how I think of what he. Although he's been pretty good movies. He's he's a pretty damn good act is a good, and he doesn't get the respect he deserves because he's a Stoner. That's the whole thing. The guy is, but I believe I think he quit. I think he quit smoking. Right. I think he gave it up or something. He was with Bill Maher. I know that and Bill Maher had him on. And I think these guys worst which smoking buddies they so it's a before. And after photos, they showed them like before when they were just kind of sitting together, and they showed the after photos, which one do you think is the photo of us before we got stoned. And after you're gonna see their faces. People make pretty good faces. Stony-faced shot is nearly slams shut. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's pretty funny. But anyway, LBJ was directed by rob Reiner. I like rod writers director. I think he's a good director. So it was really kind of a humanizing portrait of our thirty six president who was really involved in some pretty heavy stuff now with the JFK files being released couple of weeks ago. LBJ had been mentioned on a number occasions by people conspiracy theories that he was behind it when he knew about it. He was in Dallas. He was in the motorcade when the assassination happened home state, his home state. He's supposedly insisted Kennedy ride in a convertible top, right? He supposedly changed the route at the last minute to go in front of the Texas depository. Yeah. Yeah. And there's some interviews. There was an interview with a woman who claims she was LBJ's side action. And she claims that LBJ said something the day before she was saying something about those Dan Kennedy's and his response was well, you have to worry about that. After tomorrow. She goes on record saying that there's a political consultant Roger stone with people may know read a whole book about it. But LBJ convinced LBJ was that just behind it. But he was one of the ringleaders, and they're in the movie, there's no love lost between the two although it seemed to be a little sanitized. But but but rob Reiner was going for the real guy versus the president and LBJ was a foul mouth Texan. And he was also a very tall, man. And it was like six four. So he was physically imposing and intimidating and a lot of people in on Capitol Hill and congress back in the day said that would LBJ wanted to get something done. You would get quote, unquote, the Johnson treatment, and the judge and treatment was he would physically back you up against the wall and hover over you you going to stop this Bill Archer, you you've got to vote for the. Both of this Bill. Aren't you? You've got to do what's right for the state argue that kind of like a like a threatening kind of thing, but I will say Woody. How's it was very good in this Jennifer Jason Leigh played lady bird? She was very good at it as well. And they had Jeffrey Donovan played John Kennedy. Michael Stahl, David plague Robert and clearly the Kennedys and LBJ didn't get along. But they put him on the ticket because they needed the south. And we gotta remember this is during the time when LBJ I mean, the JFK had the dream of the Civil Rights Act. He wanted to get that through with it was assassinated and LBJ did carry that through against so much opposition from one particular man, Senator Richard Russell played by Richard Jacobs. Another great actor, and Richard Russell was. I mean, it was like to the right of a clan leader. And he was a Senator that's helped that. I mean, he was not about black people getting any rights whatsoever. He was all about segregation. He and LBJ tight they became enemies after LBJ decided he was going to carry this civil rights actual. But my question was what I went to see this movie. I said will rob Reiner put in the movie the classic phone call that LBJ made to Hager, I think his name is Joe Hager. The guy who created Hager slacks apparently LBJ had a pair of Hager slacks. He loved him so much he ordered more pants and call. Joe Hager himself have pants delivered to the White House. These were released these LBJ tapes released with some other tapes, this one made the rats if you haven't heard this. It's classic president Johnson Lyndon Baines Johnson ordering some slacks or around eating when I come in from work. They're about a half age. Waste. Paul.

"All right. They're kind of like she's like the head of Brolin's like she's Brolin's boss. Yes, she was in the first film? No. Okay, coup. And she's kind of like, just, I don't know. I don't know why the beast sides of the story aren't the most entertaining the stuff that's entertaining is Brillon Benicio and they're not necessarily good dudes, but they have some great lines. It's like some snappy dialogue out of those guys. Matthew Modine plays the secretary of defense, and you know that because at one point in the middle of the movie, he's having a top secret conversation with Brolin Jeffrey Donovan and Catholic on video screen and underneath it secretary defend. Why would he have that label on a secret. Communication thing to people that know who he is Anthony. I'm gonna tell you saying why who graphic design that shit. Yeah. So I'm just gonna fill you little known technique in the Hollywood film industry. Now you might want to write this down because this is reading it down. Right? It's cold exposition. Okay. Right. But we knew that before when he was like, here's mister secretary yet. But in case you forgot, this guy was we're gonna exactly. It's just a little tip. Maybe speaking of maybe the most, you know, under titles when they're like you're now in Djibouti or you're now in, you know, maybe the most in a span of ten minutes I've ever seen in film in this movie. She what? Rogue one did that too much for me. Well, we have to know the planet. They got to sell their planet merchandise somehow. I guess. I mean, maybe it has to become land in Disneyland. Yeah, she'll the reigning plan. They're gonna plan that gets you Jackou toasted pineapple? Ooh, that. Okay. So it's basically revolves around Brolin and Benicio trying to orchestrate this thing. Then we follow this young boy who David mentors, David mentors to try to kind of take them under his wing. It's his cousin, and you see them like drinking beers together by the riverside, and it's like these nice. Like, you know, mentor kind of seeing the ropes elements grooming him to be stealing. Yeah, right. And I, you know, there's. It happens. It's like two hour movie. That stuff happens for a while until the both stories meet at the end of the movie. Okay. So it's kind of a little off on that, I think but there is a fantastic scene that David has a fucking scene with benishi. Oh, and they're good for fucking hip. Yeah. Right saying to have is your now because because they're pretty good and he doesn't, he doesn't go easy on Benicio like David has the upper hand in the scene and Benicio is. Just kinda reacts off David's like authority. I, it's pretty good. It's pretty good. I'm not gonna lie. I don't know. I enjoyed it. This is this is a movie to see in theaters. I think there's some fantastic helicopter and like stunt work with cars on the highway. It's great so that, oh, it's a movie that shouldn't have been made, but I enjoyed it. So you didn't see it Soledad. Did you see it with Andrew? I did see with interested. Andrew. Giga? Yeah. We both were kind of like, I can't believe I liked this movie that should have been a good barometer because I feel like Andrew. It's hard to tell. I just feel like Andrews got the men on the streets opinion. Yeah, it's there is some laughable like not like laugh. You know that time the, you know how you laugh when someone says something mean, I laugh at that stuff. Oh. Right that. Forty, true. But. Can you give me like a like a tender moment at the end of a sitcom, like. Can we do that? Sure. Do it at home too. Now, can you give me like like of those characters are gonna make out now? Oh..

"Matthew Modine who I, I stand by the fact that one of the best names to be really do she about, like if you've ached like Matthew Modine, you mean Matt Modine stone. Oh, I know Matt Modine. It's it's right up there with Marty Martha cherry Martin Scorsese or Bobby deniro. It's one of those veneers good names, Matt Modine mammo. We used to call Madonna am. Like the pedophile movie with Peter Laurie. Well, if it is, I'm sure she's playing directly to be like, oh, let me check with 'em Catherine keener goat I love her Jeffrey Donovan who can't stand his face. He's in the first one. He's from the burn. Notice he bothers me know it. Okay. Is a bellum owner. I dunno, she's she's a young girl who's pretty fucking great in this Elijah Rodriguez a young boy is pretty fucking great. Bella Mona. Is the young go, right? Yeah, she was also the young. She was not. It's she looks so much like the little girl from hoovering. I maybe maybe I'm crazy. Maybe she was from Logan. Yeah, she's not. She's in a movie. She's in. She is not. She's not. He's nine transformers the last night. Oh, jeez. And then one David Castenada. Yes. Who we know? Yes. So you study with him, you guys have well, the acting teacher who actually should just give them applaud James Reese. He's fantastic. He's an aging photographer, an amazing friend and incredible acting teacher. When I first came to LA he did my head shots, and then I did 'cause within for years and I met David in that class. And then eventually when we become friends, you came and studied with an still study with James. And then David started become so successful. He didn't really have time to come to class anymore. So I think now James, he sort of his going to be a new show on Netflix with the kid from the misfits and Ellen page. I sold Corp. I, what's it called umbrella corporate. Yeah. So he has a little Batman and Robin, I think it's comic graphic novel, but I- aggressiveness lucky enough to work with David in going. Doc rather little stove was thinking he played the back to you back to me. So do you remember the first Sakaria? I fucking loved it. Yeah, it's pretty great. So the the thing that's lacking about this movie is very obvious. There's no Emily blunt care, which was kind of the point, I think the movie and there was no deny villa. Knew he right the arrival and runner and whatever. And it's actually directed by man named Stefan. Also Lima who's at -talian man Salim. What that's 'insensitive. Okay. Sorry. And. If he's done a lot of Italian movies, but that NFL films again, you're only getting away with that because you were telling you. However. In kind of enjoyed this movie. Yeah, it's pretty good at great reviews. It's pretty good. I do think there's a lot of people are getting on it for its portrayal of. Mexican immigrants people trying to cross the border and stuff like that. I do think the kids that we see. Belem owner plays a drug kingpins daughter who's just trying to go to school and at point in the film, she gets kidnapped in a series of situations because the United States government is trying to start a war with the cartels, but between the cartels for there is so they're trying to like today blame, try to blend the other cut tell, but really it's the efforts. Wow, that's Brolin and benishi kind of doing. I'm going to jump ahead so benishi doesn't realize that finishing, oh, but he kind of has a little like a Logan bond with this girl. And then the other young boy we see is part of a gang. The thing the movie doesn't really do as I don't think they do enough to because one of the first lines of the movie Maboe deans, like the cartels are making money by getting people over the border, and that's how they're making most of their money, and it kind of leaves it at that and at a time like this, this situat- you know what I mean? That's not the truth because it's not those people that are trying to cross the border that are bad. It able taking advantage of those people. The cartels expect them to send money back. I mean, they pay to to get safely cross like they have a guy from that are in the states, go across the board in Mexico with passport and the cartel and lead them through..
